I reckon you can never have too much wool either

Morning ladies, yes, I heard that popeye is back in hospital, so sending her healing hugs, and hope that she will be home again soon.

Yesterday I worked at the op shop in the afternoon for someone, and it seemed strange being back there again after so long not working. It was pretty quiet and the afternoon dragged and when we came to do the banking at the end of the afternoon the book didn't balance, it was out by $6. One other time I worked an afternoon we had the same problem and we stuffed around for 3/4 of an hour trying to find where we were wrong. Yesterday the other lady just said "too bad, I can't stay, I have to go. Just close the book and take the money to the bank". I think it's a bit off that we are all volunteers and as we aren't responsible for the whole day, the ones in the afternoon have to try to find the mistake even if it was made in the morning. Well yesterday was $6 out. Hardly the crime of the century and I'm not losing any sleep over it. I know I put everything in the till that I sold and gave correct change.

Picked up a nice suitcase for $10. Planning on a flying visit to the UK soon and need to bring back something that my gran gave me when I was 9 but which has been in my mum's possession until she passed away, now my sister is babysitting it for me. She measured it and said it's 16 1/2" wide. My suitcase is 17" wide, so I figured I need a wider one as it will need more than 1/4" of packing around it. The one I got yesterday is 18 1/2". I may not use it, I will try to buy a better one next time I go shopping, but just in case I can't find anything better or anything that I can afford, this one will have to do.

Right, I had better get organised. Mah Jong this afternoon and I want to pop to the Four Square this morning, they have heaps of fruit and veg for 99c, onions, mandarins, kiwifruit, potatoes, apples, bananas all 99c kg , pineapples, capsicums, broccoli, cauli, cabbage all 99c, so will nip in there and get a few things, and check my mail.

Need to get some ink for my printer. Why is it so flipping expensive?

Have a super day everyone.

Morning ladies, I was at the Four Square before 11 but they had already sold out of mandarins, pineapples, broccoli, cauli and the lady in front of me grabbed the last two cabbages. I asked the owner if there were any more broccoli or cabbages and he said no. He said he'd ordered what he thought was enough for two days and they'd sold out just after 10. He said I could have two half cabbages for 99c, but I said I would just take one, and that was 49c. So I got half a cabbage, two capsicums, some onions and some bananas and it was $4.80.

I've just been looking through my stash - which seems to keep multiplying while I'm not looking - and of course I have everything but what I really want. Why is life so difficult. I really really don't want to buy more, but what's a girl to do when she has a project in mind but not the right yarn. First world problems! I really need to de-stash somewhat. I know I'm never going to live long enough to use it all.

Beautiful day here, we had torrential rain again yesterday evening for a while, then a beautiful rainbow and sunshine. Crazy.

Knit and natter this morning then no plans for the afternoon. My garden and lawns are water-logged so I doubt I'll do anything outside today but if I don't get a wriggle on I won't even make it to knit and natter.

Have a super day everyone.

morning ladies :) Those are awesome prices for vegies kuaka. I saw a very small cauli at Pak n Save the other day for $3 - better than the $10 a few weeks ago though. We picked a cauli from the garden the other day and a cabbage is ready too. Peas are up and the leeks are in. MrK is trying to grow more vegies over winter. Finally finished picking our tomatoes. We just couldn't believe we were in the middle of May and our tomatoes were still going.

Oven cleaning is on the agenda today, will even do behind it... yuck lol. But needs must. I cleaned all the windowsills and frames, door frames and some walls yesterday. Looks much better without fly dirt.

I've started knitting a hoodie for my great niece using the left over yarn from our granddaughter's cardy.

Am thinking of you popeye.

Happy knitting :)

Morning ladies, well yesterday turned into a very frustrating (but exciting) afternoon. At knit and natter someone asked my friend (who I shared the cabin with on the cruise) when she was off to the UK and she said 1st July. I asked if she had booked yet and she said no, (because we had discussed going together and me staying with her and her sister for a few days) but she planned to do it when she went home. So we spent the whole afternoon booking flights. What a performance. For some reason we could book the pair of us from Kerikeri to Houston, but the system wouldn't allow me to go to Manchester. After 3 attempts (and me having to dash home for my passport) she gave up and phoned the airline and was on hold for 45 minutes then her phone went flat and died. We had a glass of wine, and then I came home. Hadn't been home long and she phoned to say she had tried again and put my details in first and it accepted them, so we are now booked through to Manchester.

It actually works out quite a bit dearer than a return flight to Heathrow, but I'm keen to avoid Heathrow and she is keen to avoid LA. We haven't booked the return yet, she is staying through till September, I'm planning on returning end July/beginning August. We leave 4th July. Exciting.

So I had a couple of brandies to celebrate, fell asleep in the chair, woke at midnight and went to bed, so no knitting or crochet last night. I'll make up for it tonight. I've started another animal puzzle ball - this time a cow. I've started but I still have to purchase the pattern. Some of the parts are the same on the animals so I've started on the bits I know. Was waiting for printer ink to arrive before I purchase, download and print the pattern. Ink arrived yesterday so that is next on my to do list.

Hope popeye is progressing well and is home again soon.

Have a super day everyone.

Good Morning Ladies. Been busy the last few days with Mr S in the hospital for three nights, came home yesterday. Changed his pain meds. No one can work out or understand the pain he having.

I hope things will settle down between Mr K and your father. My mother had similar problems when my brother moved back home. Mother would ring up and ask if we would like a visitor for a few days. Both enjoyed her company and what she did for us as we were living in Auckland working full time. So take some time out for yourself Kiwimade. Hope you can get over to Cambridge next month and enjoy the all things wool.

Do you want someone to carry your bags Kuaka? This will give you something to look forward too. Talk that some of the family will come out early Spring/ Summer for a visit and a tour around the North Island.
A group of us are going to watch the wedding at the weekend.

It's time I moved. Mr S is having someone in to shower him this morning. He not too pleased but will let me get to do something for myself.

Hope Popeye is feeling better and returns home soon.
Have a great day everyone.

morning ladies :) The internet was down for a bit this morning so housework is all done including windows.

I hope MrS' pain is sorted quickly sunflowers. And yes, I'm looking forward to the Cambridge woolly displays. I went a few years ago and enjoyed it.

Wahooo kuaka, exciting times! Good on you and so much nicer to travel with someone.

MrK is off to the physio so I'm going into town with him as I need to buy a thing called Chromecast so Lightbox will work on our TV. Can't have our granddaughter missing out on her favourite programmes when she stays next week lol. But I will admit to not missing Dora the blo*** Explorer!

happy knitting :)

Good morning all back in the sunshine again so to speak! I know exactly how your Dad feels Kiwimade about dishonesty - it's not the things I lost it's the loss of trust that is the hardest - plus she tried to convince me I was going dolalley which made it worse - just as well my family are around
Popeye I hope you are on the mend - a friend of mine won lotto and had a tummy tick -hers was cosmetic not needed like yours and it was probably different - her first couple of weeks were uncomfortable but then she was fine - so fingers crossed you are well and truly on the mend -Mr P is no doubt hoping so as well
Kuaka that's fantastic - spur of the moment like that and your bookings falling into place is a good omen - my cousin who was widowed last year did exactly what you did and is off next week on a painting tour to France - she was at an art club and a women mentioned she was going on the tour and within an hour or two my cousin was joining her
Sunflower hope they get on top of the pain for Mr S - that's one thing I will always be grateful for my old boys disease was not painful - the disease just turned his lungs to cardboard so to speak
Looking forward to the wedding tonight - we were all going up to my sons new house but yesterday they switched on the underfloor gas heating and a valve or something hadn't been tightened and he stepped out of bed onto wet carpet - unfortunately it has also damaged the downstairs ceilings - they are not happy -
Have looked at the weather and it might be OK at the dog park about 12 so that's the plan this morning

Morning everyone. The wanderer returns.

Thank you for all the healing thoughts.. was a very scary moment when one piece of the wound opened and leaked body fluid and blood. Ambulance wrapped me tight, and it also didnt help that I had some sugar hypos too, cos Id had my insulin then it opened so hadnt eaten.
Its not quite sealed up yet, but I have a bag for any flow. And it is mending but the black bruises are nasty looking.

Bonus, I was weighed about midnight Monday, and just before 10 yesterday mornng and Id lost 5.6 kilos... So a total of 16.7 kilos lost... YAYAYAY I have all my rings on again lol.
Strict instructions to take things easy and I sure will be this time. I was very lucky.
And home for the wedding lol

Ohh Kuaka what a mission to get your trip booked. Off into Summer lol.

Hope MrS improves Sunflower.. Hard to get meds right. And yes have some time for you.

Ohh Kiwimade, lol re Dora... Ohh I must check my last pumpkin too. Hopefully its hanging on .

So pleased to be home. Missy is between me and the keyboard with her chin on my hand lol.

Morning everyone
Looks like it could be a lovely day. Heavy dew this morning.. Ohh so nice to wander around and open curtains and do "Normal" stuff no matter how easy lol.
I stretched out in my lazy boy yesterday afternoon and promtly had 2 hours heavy sleep. So I stayed there last night.. Ive never been one to fall asleep in my chair but its just the right thing for me at the mo.

We didnt look at the wedding last night. Will watch the highlights on tv one later in the day.

Wow Kiwimade you are ploughing through the knitting. Did you get your chromcast thingee yesterday and all set up?

My "jobs" for the day is to trim MrPs claws lol, they are longer than mine... And I have some real heavy duty brown paper that came as packing for the pie tins I ordered from briscoes while home in the middle. And one of the patient bags from the hospital, they need smoothing out. Christmas cake baking paper sorted for another hear lol.

Have a fab day everyone

It's officially MrK's 75th birthday today even though we celebrated it last month.

What a shame about the festival flick. I hope the pain doesn't kick in today.

That's a good weight loss popeye, how lovely for you! You will soon start to feel a million dollars.

Morning everyone
Happy Birthday for MrK... Nice all the family could get together for it.

Have had a very lazy weekend. Did only what I planned yesterday. So no growlings lol
Organising the labtests to come to the home today, and the district nurse is coming to put a battery powered bag thingee on on the open part of my wound. It draws everything out and promotes healing apparently.

Then a friend will take me up the road later to do a couple of things .

I have very little pain today, which is great. But My only job is to emtpy another pocket on my bag.

I find it very hard not to be doing anything, as in housework, cooking etc.

We enjoyed the highlights of the wedding, Her dress was lovely and simple.

Hope your feeling better today Flick. Normally the next day is the worst.

Good morning - nice day again bit breezy - would be great day for flying a kite
That wound drainer sounds interesting Popeye - the new inventions are amazing
Rest up after your fall flick
I spent a couple of hours yesterday trying ti find some beautiful apricot wool a lady sent me from USA when I was in a wool swapping group - I have a huge mess where I have pulled stuff out but no wool - better get cracking and tidy up Mums coming for lunch !

Afternoon ladies, I sat up and watched the wedding then yesterday afternoon went to a friends to watch the replay along with some other friends and we were all tarted up posh as though we were attending the wedding ourselves. Was a lot of fun. I thought she looked lovely.

I had to laugh at your post gerry, because I did exactly the same thing the other day, went through every bag and container of wool looking for a shawl that I started some time ago, I want the needles that it's on (it's on a set of my knit-pro circulars and I need the cable length and the tips) needless to say I can't find it and I am quite perplexed about it as I have no idea now where I've put it. Grrrrr.

I'm making progress with the cow puzzle and also the tortoise in a jacket which should look cute when it's done. We have a market on Saturday 2nd June, there's a cruise ship in. Apparently there is one in sometime in July but I don't have the details for it, and will probably be while I'm away so it won't matter.

Beautiful day here, sunny and breezy - good day to get the washing dry. I was going to take a friend to visit her mum in the old folks home but she phoned and said some friends of her mum had called in and they were going to take her. She will phone me if they can't bring her back. Then this afternoon I am going to see if I can start her car - the battery has either gone flat or died.

I must put clean sheets on the bed. I've stripped it and done the washing and I hate it when I occasionally forget that I still have to put the clean bedding on and only discover it at bedtime. So I will go and do that now, and then have a coffee and put my feet up for half an hour.

Have a super day everyone.

I've started knitting a knee rug/throw for dad as he has been making pointed comments how cold he is. We're not cold so it's a fine balance of suiting everyone. We've warned him he will need to wear warmer clothes, that this isn't Aussie in the winter! Honestly, it's like parenting the parent. Moan and groan over lol.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone.
It does feel like that sometimes Kiwimade. Mum used to feel the cold, but she always corrected herself. When we were kids, she always told us, to put more clothes on, or get a hottie and blanket. So she would do the same.
Cos as a result of our upbringing, of living in a cooler home I cannot stand breathing Hot air. so heating is a last resort to me. even on blood thinners I like things cool.

Slept in my own bed last night. And Im paying for it today. My pain is back to a 4-5 compared to no more than a 2 yesterday. And I didnt do anything to make it that way.

Today I have asked for my jewellery box to be brought to the lounge for me. Its very heavy, but I want to get my greenstone heart necklace out. I got it when I was recovering from my heart surgery and seemed to feel stronger wearing it. So hopefully it will bring the same strength for me this time. And its fun tripping down memory lane thinking of the memories attached to each piece I have.

Have a fab day everyone

Good morning everybody - fine but breezy here today - washing is probably already dry - had to put an extra peg or two on the sheets
I'm like you Popeye don't like the room temp too high - one of my sons drives me nuts he keeps bumping my heat pump up when he comes - keeps telling me I will get sick as the room is cold - I threw hin a rug on the weekend to wrap himself in!
Nothing much on the agenda today

gerry64 - 2018-05-22 10:56:00
13525

morning ladies :) Yep, we're the same. I don't like it too hot inside. Trouble is Mum always had the house hot to the point of it being stuffy so Dad is used to it. But he's learning to put more clothes on.

I gave in and bought a new phone the other day and just as well I did as my old phone refused to charge the next day. Must admit it is nice to have a new one.

Our granddaughter is coming to stay today until Saturday so this should be fun! Lots of early starts for us lol but that's all good.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
We had neighbous years ago that always had both the lounge fire and the coal range going all the time, and she kepts the place practically sterilised clean. Then they compplained they always got sick
I said cos you walk outn of your ultra clean hot house into the cold and bugs. It never did sink into their heads.

Wow Lucky re your phone Kiwimade. I still love mine as much as the day I first got it. Must be a couple of years old by now. Have a friend with a samsung, and mine does all that hers does, plus I have sketch on mine that she doesnt. hers is about the same age but the battery is stuffed. She says she needs a new phone. I said you need a new battery, of which you can get on here for $15. She likes to keep up with the joneses when it comes to phones. I like mine so long as it does all I need.

A Much better sleep and far less pain today. Yesterday was a shocker. Ended up off my face cos I took some fast acting oxynorm. so obviously the chair is my best place to sleep for now.
Nurse is due today for a dressing change. And hopefully they have got the wound vacc thing in stock now.

Have a fab day everyone. Its hosing down here so a perfect crafting day.

Good afternoon just - grey coolish day here today so dog park might just get a miss - have started watching Last Tango in Halifax - brilliant British acting so an episode or two or three is on the cards this afternoon
My son bought me a fancy iPhone but I really liked my very old one better but this one has a very good panic alarm on it - a couple of times I have felt really uneasy when I have been way round the back of the park
Is Jayemtoo away overseas ? Even when I am in my black hole I read the posts but I don't remember seeing her for a while

Morning ladies, from a very cold "winterless north". My neighbour was complaining about the weather yesterday - I won't repeat what she said because I'm far too polite. We were supposed to be going for a walk at 7.15 but she sent a message and said go back to bed - I didn't I sat up and crocheted, and then we decided we would go at 5pm but at five it was absolutely hammering it down, so we decided to exercise our brain and watch the Chase instead of exercising our legs. She then showed up wanting help with some sewing and I missed the Chase (which I always enjoy). Loved watching Last Tango in Halifax gerry. Brilliant series.

Probably go to Kerikeri today to do some shopping, want to go to the Warehouse to see if I can buy a bigger suitcase so I can bring back the fancy silver-framed mirror my gran gave me when I was 9. My sister got a quote to send it to me and it was going to be 350 pounds, so buying a suitcase and bringing it should be a cheaper option. Packed well it should survive the trip - well here's hoping.

Tonight I'm going to a trivia quiz night at the golf club with some of the ladies who went on the cruise. It should be fun. We did a few while we were away and it was quite good. We didn't bother about the one on the final day which was listed as "for the not so bright" so we figured if we didn't win that one we would feel really bad!

Right, I had better get busy if I'm to go shopping this morning.

Have a super day and try to stay warm and dry.

Good Morning ladies. Sun out, but feels cold still inside. Hear snow is on the way for the weekend. Have to go out today so will get everything I need for next few days. Hubby is not well is back in the hospital. Looking at sending him to one of the rest homes that has a hospital attached to it.I am not sure about it. The family are askings do they need to come out from England. I have no answers for them.In meantime, I have ended up with head/chest cold so my visits are very short. Thanks for phones. Friends visiting him for me as well. A cuz is here with me and been very helpful.

Good to hear you doing well Popeye. Just take it easy when you go out today.
Gerry, I can understand how you feel around the back of the park. I walk it with a friend who take her dog out there. We both have our cell phones with us.
Time to move as I need to wrap up warm to go out.
What everyone knitting at present? I am knitting a small blanket. Have to look for a facecloth pattern and knit one up over the weekend.
Enjoy your day
Happy knitting.

I thought I might be more sore than I am.. So Im pleased.. I thought MrP would holler and have a grump about not driving, but he knows deep down that he could cause an accident if he has a turn while driving.

Tis a chilly wind out there.

The lawn lady has been, she took the round over a couple of mows ago and is doing well.

I did get a bee sting for my trouble today tho. And normally I freak out big time but was quite composed for me lol.

Morning everyone
Wow a wild and wooly night. Impressive thunder around 6 am.

Im a bit tender this morning, so have topped up the meds. Didnt help that I bashed the corner on the right hand side of my tummy. But it will come right. And I have to expect the good and the not so good.

Wonder how Kiwimade is getting on with her Grandie and Dora lol.

MrP and I were talking the other night about whether you could make mandarin jam. Thinking well marmalade is jam. But Im not foond of marmalade, well I never used to be and its something I should try. But anyway I googled last night and Chelsea Sugar has a nice simple recipe.
So Ive asked my Izzys mum if she can grab me some mandarins from Izzys kindy who grow them and give it a try, with MrP doing some of the stirring lol

Stay warm and dry everyone

Good morning - drizzly day here - the young Labrador dog next door is moaning and whining his head off - don't blame him - wild night here to the wind was something else - my sons house has vertical cedar panels that look like oars stuck on the walls upstairs I am sure the architect wouldn't like my description - but he said last night it was so windy up on the hill he thought his panels might start playing a tune - they are actually very clever he can see out but you can't see in from outside -
Popeye my Mum always made mandarin marmalade pretty sure she added a lemon or two -
Sunflower you have some difficult decisions ahead of you - we took Mum around all the rest homes when she decided one day she wanted to move out of her house - she chose the Masonic one at Taradale - she sat and watched the staff and they were happy and smiling so even though as you know it wasn't as flash as some of the others it got her tick - but she is in a little unit - and I hear you not knowing what to advise family about coming home - I know I drove them mad by telling them I didn't know if they should or not - but it was the truth
Feeling very sorry now for the dog next door I think it is skeet falling at the moment - ash is still in bed with his ekectric blanket on pretending he can't hear !
Son is coming shortly with coffee and scones so I better get myself cracking - he has a new baker in his bakery who makes date scones like my Nana used to make - a bit if your mandarin marmalade on it Popeye would really take me back to my childhood

Morning everyone,
I guess since my mum didnt like marmalade thats why Id never thought about mandarin jam/marmalade Gerry... Got the fruit last night, so Ill write out the recipe and give it a go. Will have to get our house lady to get it out cos I dont think MrP could either at the mo. But he has said he will share the stirring so I dont get too tired. Its only a small batch.

Still no crafting for me..

Nurse came yesterday and we had a visitor at the time. I warned her that my scar was snarky looking.. but she was surprised, how it looked. And very surprised at how deep the nurse could put her plastic tweezers into me. But she wasnt grossed out thank goodness lol Theres alot of scab which needs to be softened to come off.

No other plans today other to than sewing a button a for a friend...

Mr S will go to a nearby rest home for a week or so and will have a physio going in daily to see if we can get him moving around easier. The staff knows him as he went a couple of time on respite before his op. Can't say he enjoyed it but gave me a break and some time for myself.

Did you enjoy your date sones, Gerry? I may just pop in and see what new in the bakery line. We are so lucky to have some great bakeries here in HB.

I won the monthly draw in the yarn group and had six parcels delivered yesterday. Have to try and take photos over the weekend. Will list who wool arrived yesterday after I finish here.

Popeye you just make the marmalade the same as any other. I have two very large fruiting sweet orange trees and make marmalade every year. Give over 30-40 kilos away every season. They all made marmalade the same way. Also, make Orange Honey. Just replace the lemons with oranges.
Time to move as it's not to warm up here in the office and the jug just boiled so off to have a coffee. Not sure what I am going to do today besides staying warm perhaps more knitting. Have a couple of bags cut out waiting to be sewn. Just have to get my machine back ,it's having its WOF at present.
Enjoy your day and stay warm.

Well the Jam is done. And the lids are popping.

https://www.chelsea.co.nz/browse-recipes/mandarin-jam/

I have to say its the easiest jam Ive ever made. I sat and peeled all the pith off. Took five minutes max to shove it through the kitchen whizz and meaure the sugar and water into the pot.
Friend stood and stirred till the sugar was dissolved. And then we sat and visited cos you dont stir it again till nearly done.
5 Minutes to jar up , got 3 nice size jars.

But best of all, it didnt pain me at all. Cos I was only on my feet for 10 mins max, cut into two sessions.
And it tastes nice too.

One day Ill make an orange version.. Best not get into grapefruit since it interacts with the medications.

morning ladies :)

Our grandy has gone home, phew, what a whirlwind she is! Even the Furry One was exhausted lol.

I make marmalade and have an awesome recipe using a mixture of citrus fruit and then you throw in a tin of pineapple at the end.

I hope they manage to get MrS moving sunflowers, but you also need to look after yourself.

I've started knitting dad a throw/knee rug thing as he's using my mohair throw and I want it back. Just simple cables, nothing too fancy. I'm knitting it in long strips and will join them together. It shouldn't take long to do as I'm knitting it on 5mm needles.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
That recipe sounds nice Kiwimade. Would you care to share?
Have been wondeing how you were getting on with the Whirlwind lol. Its neat she will come and stay tho cos before to long she will be a school girl. The last 5 years have gone soo fast..
The young couple that had their first daughter Addie within a couple of weeks of Maddy have just brought their first house and have 2 pretty daughters. Im glad they have settled down and grown up a little now.

The jam is a lovely set. Even the jar that wasnt quite full has popped down, so thats pleasing. 3 good size jars for the cost of the 1 kg of sugar and an hour of time.

Still very windy and wet here. But I dont think its so cold this morning.

Im comfortable pain wise this morning, so I think finally things are mending well.

Ive been wondering for a few weeks if I should try knitting again. So watch this space lol
Have a fab day everyone

Good morning - started off a wee bit sunny now turning very grey and bleak - should of gone for a walk earlier
The marmalade looks lovely Popeye - took me down memory lane I think my mum turned everything she could get her hands on into a jam or a relish when we were kids - never realised when we were kids how difficult it was for her - my Dad had a small trucking business and he often didn't get paid by the struggling returned servicemen farmers in money but iMum would get a side of mutton or the one I hated wild turkey - yuk - she used to bring out her relish to stop us moaning about mutton every night of the week!
Sunflower can highly recommend the scones - full of fruit - my mum reckons you can tell a good score by how it breaks in half - you never cut a scone!Robies scores broke beautifully
Enjoy your granddaughter kiwimade - time just flies

Morning Ladies. Cold, Grey and Raining here now. Our load of firewood arrived late yesterday afternoon. Second load. Was thinking of moving some this morning, but it can wait for a day or two. Its locked behind the driveway gate, with the car in front of the gates. I can live with that. Handy to the back door at present.
Worked on my blanket yesterday afternoon while I watched a DVD. This does not happen often. This is me looking after myself.

Sounds like you enjoyed your granddaughter visit Kiwimade.
Popeye good know you are taking care of yourself. You know when it's the right time to start knitting again.

Whatever you do today enjoy and stay warm.

morning ladies :) I'll dig the marmalade recipe out and post it when I can. I can't even remember where I got it from, it was so long ago. A magazine I think.

Lawns still need mowing here (can't believe it!) so I'll get that done today as the bins are emptied tomorrow and some of the clippings can go in that. Our compost bins are chokka with the prunings and leaves from the last couple of weeks.

Still knitting dad's knee rug, it's in a lovely teal colour, part mohair, part alpaca and part acrylic so nice and light.

Hope everyone manages to enjoy the sunshine today.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Our lawns were done last week Kiwimade and they dont sow many signs of slowing down either.. Strange seasons. Are you seeing any mushrooms around? Cant say Ive heard of anyone getting them up here.
Ohh the rug sounds like it will be nice and light but snuggly warm.

Ive been up and done my Blood. Was lovely to catch up with the girls again nearly a month since Ive seen them.

Off to breast screening and MrPs cardiology appointments later. Must be Waiuku day there today cos we know two other people from here with appointments too lol

We have some sun, so much so that one of the intersections I had to go through was just about a case of close your eyes plant ya foot and hope like heck that no one was coming.. Havent driven like that since living near Rotorua. They are shocking there lol

Have a fab day all and stay warm

Morning Everyone from windy Napier. The sun out, but that wind is cold. Ended up watching 'A United Kingdom' yesterday with a good fire burning away. A very interesting storyline. Not everyone cup of tea, but check it out.

Talking about lawns ours have not been mowed for 3 weeks. We have a new crew starting this week. They will trim the trees and tidy the gardens for us as well.

Do you have to travel far for your appointments Popeye? Good to see both on the same day for you. We have had weeks where we have had to go 3 times over to the hospital villas in one week. You are doing well and taking care not to overdo things.
Yes! I will pop in and try the baking at the s/market Gerry.
Need to put the blanket aside and knit a facecloth to go with the other goodies, otherwise I'll be late posting this swap.
The sun out wind dropped so may be able to take photos of the wool I have recieved.

Take Care and enjoy your day.

Its about 35 minutes for the clinic Sunflowers. So today was a good test. And I passed lol.

MrPs original cardioloy appointment was back in April, but we kept juggling once we knew when I was going in. Then my breast screening one came, I changed it to go to the mobile truck down here, but after the emergency dash I knew there was no way Id get up the stairs into the truck. So I rang on Friday and they had 3 free appointments. So it all worked out.

Its clear as a bell out there tonight. Frost in the morning I reckon. Cos no wind either.

morning ladies :) We have a real doozy of a frost this morning, we could feel it coming down around mid afternoon yesterday so knew it was going to be a beaut.

I'm about a third of the way through the m iddle panel of dad's rug and I am pleased with it. Dad loves it so far too so that's the main thing.

Happy knitting :)
