morning ladies :) Aww flick, your poor daughter. It's not fair is it when our kids are constantly unwell. I hope they can sort out what her problem is.

I've knitted a pueperium (sp) cardy and a pair of booties for our neighbour's baby and will knit a hat this afternoon. It's raining today so no chance of being outside so I can knit later on. Once t hat is done I'll start knitting for the grandies.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Another wet windy day but the wind has turned around.

Today would have been my eldest brothers 60th birthday.. Its hard to imagine what he would look like now, when its 20 years since he died. All three of my brothers look different.

Im in the jam pot again today.. I found a recipe for Feijoa jam and jelly yesterday. The jam was in the newish Edmonds book.. Only makes one 400 gram jar. But thats good in a way cos at least if we dont like it , its not a huge waste. And we would pass it on rather than bin it anyway.
The jelly has been hanging overnight. and the yeild is 2 3/4 cups of juice. And the sugar will be 1 3/4 c so as with the jam if we dont like it, it will be passed along or bartered. The Jam had ginger in it.. Im now wondering if I should have added some to the Jelly too.

No Appointments this week.. Yayay, last week was over the top for them lol..

Stay warm and dry everyone..

Have a fab day

Morning everyone
Weather looks like its going to be all seasons today. Not cold tho.

Im back in the Jelly pan this morning. Did a double boil up of fruit last night. And have 6 cups of juice to cook.

Still no crochet for me.. Im just having too much fun in the kitchen.

The Jam pan I got last week is lovely to cook in. Seems to take less time and Im assuming that its cos the sides flare out. Rather than the pots going straight up, and the one I have been using curves in at the top a bit.

I have my instructions from the Haemotology department for my pre surgery blood thinning. So I have everything settled in my mind now.

Have a fab day everyone

Good evening ladies, I'm home safely, had an awesome time, but sadly I've gained almost 4kg in weight, so will have to work at that. We had 3 stops in New Caledonia, Noumea (where I have been before but not for about 40 years), Lifou and one other place I forget the name of, then to Vanuatu, Port Vila and Mystery Island. I've also been to Vanuatu before (on the same cruise as when I went to Noumea) but last time I was there it was still called New Hebrides. Nothing seemed to have changed much, the roads are still bad, Noumea looks quite run down and neglected, as does much of Port Vila. The weather was awesome except the first half hour in Noumea when the heavens opened. We went to some beautiful beaches. I'll put up a couple of pics but I will have to transfer the photos from my phone to my laptop, so will do that tomorrow as I am absolutely knackered. I didn't get to bed till midnight last night and was awake again at 4.30, up at 6 to disembark and get ashore by 8 and then we had to wait till 12.45 for our bus, which didn't leave till after 1 because the driver didn't show up. So arrived back here at about 5.30, went to the club for tea and was home just before 8.

Have to pick puss up from the cattery tomorrow morning.

Night night.

Good Morning Everyone. Welcome home Kuaka. You was lucky with weather while you tripping around the islands.

Everything hit a all time low here at present. Mr S knee and leg has ballooned up. Had it checked out at the after hours center as our doctors did not come back after leaving messages to ring us. Finally told its his Doctor day off he check the message Wed am.This is after I followed it up. Off shortly to get an xray of his knee and leg. Mr S is now talking about changing doctors after 28 years.I left 2 years. Their service has gone down as the bigger they have become. Three Doctors to now 14 full and p/time.

Lovely warm day here. Sun shinning so I have been out in the garden. Planted 15 strawberry plants, Planted more spring bulbs.
Looking forward to finishing some sewing today and some knitting tonight.
Have a great day ladies.

Ohh Sunflowers thats not good re MrS's Leg. Hope they can figure out what it is.

We have 13 I think it is Drs. One has been dring for 46 years. And in my opinion shouldnt still be practising. hes had a couple of wrong diagnosis causing death, and He could have killed me too. A friends mum is mid 70s, and the Dr wont even listen to her chest or take her BP, unless he is asked. Ive told my friend, that Ill have a word with his Mum and try and get her to change to our Dr. She is very thorough.

I should get some new daffodil bulbs and pop them into my large pot.. Hopefully have one flowering for our wedding anniversary this year.

Blowing a gail again today.. Ive been wandering through a folder of recipes, and now have alot of new recipies to write into my books.

morning ladies and welcome back kuaka. We found Vanuatu run down too and omg the roads lol... the potholes were huge! Our taxi driver said the US paid the Vanuatu government millions for road repairs after their artillery caused the damage during WWII but there was so much corruption the money was filtered away to politicians instead. When the Vanuatu government had the nerve to ask the US for more money, the US said no. So the roads have stayed the same ever since.

I have started knitting a poncho/jumper for our granddaughter and so far I'm happy with it. I saw the pattern at Spotlight by chance, just happened to see it as I walked by. I think she will love it as I'm knitting it in a tangerine/orange so nice and bright. The baby stuff for our nieghbour is done, just need buttons and to find out the sex of the baby so I'll know whether to embroider rosebuds or not.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Wow doesnt sound like Vanuatu is much different from other countries who dont spend wisely or the money doesnt get to where its meant to be.

Kiwimade I imagine those colours will look lovely on your grandie. I love her Pixie cut Hair do..
Reminds me of years ago the little girl over the back fence had cut her own hair when Mummy was in the shower. I was out picking beans and I heard this Loud OHHH NOOO.. Mum was a hair dresser and I guess the little girl thought she could do the same. She also ended up with a pretty pixie cut. Shes a teenager now with long dark brown hair..

My leg improved yesterday but is sore again already. Need some meds on board. Have some left over chicken in a pot making a base for chicken soup for me.

Shopping this morning and I have to pick up my clexane shots etc. One step closer lol..

Morning ladies, well I have finally unpacked my suitcase, but as yet I haven't put everything away, suitcase included. Discovered yesterday that I had lost one of my nice leather jandals on the bus. I was wearing them, but my feet got cold so I took them off and put on my sneakers which were in my carry-on luggage, and I thought I had put both my jandals in the carry-on bag, but when I got home, I only had one, so I suspect the other one is on the floor of the bus. I've completed a lost property claim form, but I will be surprised if I get it back. Rather annoying.

Went out for tea last night with the neighbours, and I asked what the occasion was and they said "to welcome you back home". They are lovely.

Tonight I'm at the club for tea because my friend's sister has a birthday today. I shared the cabin with them, and they are really good fun. I laughed till I had tears running down my face and my sides hurt.

I had better do something useful I suppose. I haven't had breakfast yet, so I think I will have brunch instead.

Have a super day everyone.

Oh Kiwimade I soo know what your going through. Thankfully I am able to text or talk online with our homecare lady and warn her if MrP is in one of his moods. Did the same with the drs too. Ours often knows what MrP is going to say or do , before we get there. Thank goodness for the Manage My Health app. Hope it goes well for you.

Have figured my knee is better to have it down, and Im making myself walk properly rather than limping. Its slowly improving.

A couple of small jobs to do this morning, then I will set the Tv and freeview box up again in MrPs bedroom. So if he wants to he cant watch the normal channels in there while Im away.

Im going to have a tu-tu with some wool and see if I can work out how long to make the chain for a crochet cowl. Ive got some pretty acrylics that Id love to work with so will take this to hospital. So Ill ahve fun playing with that today.

Have a fab day all

Wet and windy again...
I didnt get far for chosing a yarn to do a cowl in yesterday cos my Sister arrived with 4 balls of a beautiful varigated black, purple, mauve yarn. She said she saw it, pointed it out to her Hubby who said Su and that was it. They had to buy it lol

The knee is improving slowly.. finally .

On the countdown now. And I still have a few things I want to do. But we have everything planned out , all except my return journey since we dont know when that will be lol.

Hope everyone is well and Happy

Hopefully a crochet cowl Sunflowers. I was doing a strand of chain when my Isster arrived yesterday, so that I could figure out how many I would need. Then I was going to decide what colour to do it. And that was solved straight away ... Perfect timing

I can't believe I have finished the jumper/poncho for our granddaughter last night. Just have to sew the sleeves in and it's done. I'll take a pic and post it here later. It looks pretty good in orange and MrK reckons it will be perfect to spot her out on her other grandparents' farm lol.

Now to find something to knit for our grandson.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone,
We are very pleased we no longer have the cabbage treet in the council garden, it would be a constant mess out there.
Wow Kiwimade you are flying through the knitting. Nice doing smaller knitting isnt it.
Ive changed my mind about the cowl. Im going to do 2 scarves, one lengthwise and one widthwise. The lengthwise one I will do a row of black on both sides so the purple really pops. I may throw a few black rows in the width one too, spaced apart. Thankfully the lighting is good in hospital lol.
Have to pop up the road this morning, then its resting my leg which is improving every day.
I was toying with the idea of making more jelly but Ive decided not to. We have heaps of jam at present and I dont want that pain again. Although I will be having a baking day before I go in. But Ill prep oneday and bake the next, to spread the load lol

Have a fab day everyone

Afternoon everyone

Ive had a slow start to the day. Finally shortened some jeans for MrP. And did the velcro on the bag for my tablet, e-reader etc.
Found batteries for the remotes of MrP s tv and freeview box.

Ive decided what to bake on Wednesday. A chocolate cake with no eggs, butter or milk. A Banana cake for my friends birthday. And 3 new biscuit recipes. One has a little butter but no eggs. And the other two use oil and no eggs. So it makes for a cheap day of baking really.

I hope everyone is well

Have a fab day

Love the poncho Kiwimade. I remember when I first started knitting toys it was hard to get a decent orange. Especially for scrows noses. That orange would be perfect.
Yep I said to MrP last night that the cross stitch should arrive today. Cant wait and Ill find somewhere flat to lay it while Im on my search for the perfect frame.
Im going to get things ready to bake tomorrow, today.

My knee is felling really good today. But I wont overdo it.

I did the chain for my lengthways scarf last night. I want to get the black row done and can then pack it away to take with me.

Morning ladies, well yesterday I rowed a friend out to the boat, that was entertaining as she isn't very clued up when it comes to boats and she had terrible trouble getting out of the dinghy and onto the boat (she's younger than me by 10 years I might add) and at one stage I thought she was going for a swim, we had a really good laugh over that. The birds had been back again but hadn't made much mess, so we cleaned that up and before we left we put a tarp over the main hatch - they get in as there's a gap behind the main hatch when it is closed. She helped me tie the tarp down and asked "is this okay?" I laughed and said "no, you're not tie-ing shoe laces, we don't use bows!"

Hope to get back out there again tomorrow with a builder friend who is hopefully going to be able to repair the main hatch for me. We will see.

No plans for today other than do some washing and go to mah jong after lunch. I might do some housework or a bit of weeding this morning, or I might be lazy and do the spikes for the next dinosaur puzzle ball.

Have a super day everyone.

A definate chill in the air this morning. MrP is lazing in bed lol.

My baking session went well. Im going to split it like that from now on, and I enjoy it twice that way lol A couple of the biscuits MrP didnt like, but he liked the ones I didnt think he would. And has had a large slice of the cake.

Ive done the first row of my scarf, and have put it away cos I know I wont stop otherwise. And I need to get more of this blanket done.
6 days now and Im starting to think of things I wont be able to reach for post opp. like china for eating off and pots etc. So Ill have a little temporary change around session before I go in.

Shopping this morning, and I dont have to do anything else while Im out so thats good.

Afternoon ladies, a lazy day. I had planned to mow one of the lawns before I went to a friends for lunch, but the morning sort of got away on me and I didn't get round to it - maybe tomorrow/maybe not.

What a sumptuous lunch - there were 7 of us that were on the cruise. We had soup to start (couldn't actually tell you what the flavour was but it was delicious) then we had salmon mousse, followed by Argentinian beef casserole and salad, followed by a trio of desserts, berries with a berry creme (like creme caramel but berry flavoured) pavlova and brownies, followed by birthday cake and then coffee. I don't think I will need to eat till tomorrow. I haven't been home long.

Going to put my feet up and see if I can finish my dinosaur puzzle.

Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful autumn weather.

omg yumm kuaka, that sounds just divine!

We had a huge internet outage yesterday, from around 1.30pm-ish to well after midnight. I have no idea what happened but I bet there were a few peeved business's with no eftpos available.

Our son is coming home tonight so he can come with us for MrK's birthday lunch tomorrow.

Morning everyone
Sounds like you have an awesome neighbourhood and group of friends Kuaka.
When we lived in Mangakino there was a groupf of 8 of use who got together for Posh dinners at each others homes. It was alot of fun.

Been up to do my blood early, it didnt look good either, but time will tell. I have to stop my warfarin tonight.

Kiwimade the business would have been really annoyed.. makes you wonder if we rely on technology wayy too much.

A friend is coming in to pick up some eggs cartons etc to take to a lady who is bartering eggs, so she will grab me some whiole she is pickin up some for herself. Its a mix of hens and duck eggs. If I get a few duck eggs I will make a sponge for the freezer, cos MrB will have plenty of hen ones to keep him going.

Was one of my sisters birthday yesterday., We gave her a box of goodies, all the spoils that I know she likes. You know how when Kids have too many choices, she was like that when she got it home.. Didnt know what to choose first lol.

Good Morning Ladies. I'm off out for the day to 'Book Art' meet monthly and this my 1st for the year. Have prepared materials to make some notebooks. I want to try a new stitch for stitching the pages together.

It 's good to see you enjoying your lunches and dinners out with your friends Kuaku. Are you going to do the markets during the winter? We have a new market called the 4 Seasons. Winter one next Saturday. Interesting to see how it goes.
The count is on now Popeye hope you are able rest, over the next few days. You have done all you can to make sure everything ok on the home front.

Started a cowl yesterday. Knitting it flat and then sew it up. Not good at knitting in the round. My winter knitting goal is to watch some you tube and see how I get on as I am like a lot of an others who not keen on sewing up things.
The weather is over cast at present so good day for inside.
Have a great day

Would love to see some of yoour book art Sunflowers.

Yes on the countdown now.. Not much left I can do. I was hoping on tying up the new raspberry spines this morning, but its raining and the last thing I want to do is get a chill. So fingers crossed we have a dry spell for 10 minutes somewhere in the next couple of days.

I have a sulky one this morning so hes still in bed. lol

I undid the black row of the scarf, and have decided to do the rows in the purples and then edge it in black. The black is softer wool so I think it will be ok on the "Cast on" edge lol.

I bartered some fresh eggs yesterday for a fruit loaf so now I want to bake lol.. But I wont.

Morning ladies, just keeping an eye on the weather, friend and I were planning on going for a walk today but not if it's going to rain. What a miserable day yesterday. When it wasn't chucking it down it was murky to say the least, and windy with it. Heavy rain woke me through the night last night and the night before. Last night I didn't manage to get back to sleep so I might need a nana nap later.

I finished the dinosaur puzzle and have almost done a giraffe one. Want to do another elephant one for the next market which is 12 and 13 May, although at this stage I've only got a spot on the Sunday. There was supposed to be a market yesterday and I was thinking when I got up at 6 and could hear the rain hammering down that it would be a waste of time, but at 6.30 I had a phone call to say it was cancelled, so I went back to bed.

We have one more market early in June when there is a cruise ship in, and then I think there's no more until August or September.

NZ Post is very slow these days. I sent my son something recently and it took over a week to get to him in Auckland. Ridiculous.

Anyway, I better have some breakfast and decide whether we are going to risk going for a walk.

Have an awesome day everyone.

MrK's birthday isn't until the 21st May but we are celebrating now as two of his sisters are off overseas soon and will be away for the big day. And yes, mine is Friday :) Thank you for the early birthday wishes. And happy birthday for you too lol.

edited this as I forgot a few bits!
