morning ladies. There was a second major accident on our road yesterday. The first involved six people (three wee kiddies) on Good Friday and yesterdays involved seven people, some tourists. Both needed the fire brigade to cut them out of the cars and the rescue helicopter. The serious crash unit is investigating both. Our granddaughter couldn't wait to tell us mummy had to talk to a policeman to get through onto the closed part of the road so they could visit. And she saw the helicopter taking the people away and told us there were hurt people on it nana, they have to go to hospital. Dad was amazed we had two accidents, he had never heard so many sirens before. But sadly, we hear them all too often. Our son is coming home today for the night, we haven't caught up with him for ages. I'll do some cross stitch this morning I think, I won't be getting much done while son is home. Happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2018-04-02 07:35:00
Morning everyone, Wow not good re the accidents Kiwimade, I heard of the first one and had wondered if it was close. Maddy obviously coped well with it. I got the clenaing bug yesterday, well tidying and cleaning. Finally got the door of the oven done.. Good old Chemico.. Will have a look at getting the door off and doing the rest at some stage. I dont generally cook in it, only baking. But it still gets dirty. I dont really have any plans for today.. so will just cruise through. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2018-04-02 09:16:00
Morning everyone Have a few things to do up the road this morning, bloods included. Leaving MrP home to answer the phone. Im hoping to have news this week re my surgery. beit a phonecall or letter. it cant be too far away. Had a tu-tu yesterday to see if I could crochet in the round, and it surprised me that it was failry easy.. I have no idea if its the "Proper" way of doing it. But it worked for me. So once the blankets are out of the way or if I need a break I will try and make a cowl. I have lots of pretty colours I can choose from. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2018-04-03 09:12:00
Good Morning Ladies, another lovely Summer's day here. We had great weather over Easter as well.Hope everyone had a lovely time with family and friends. Mr S went down to ATR ward last Wed. It was very boring as a lot had gone home for Easter. Have a team meeting this afternoon and they looking at sending Mr S home at the end of the week. It be 10 days if he makes it Friday. Enjoy your day everyone. sunflowers28 - 2018-04-04 08:12:00
Afternoon everyone, Got side tracked and didnt get my post up this morning. Finally over half way on the grey squares. Im not kinda hoping I can get them all done before I go in now. I sit next to a set of drawers, and Im thinking of taking everything out of the middle draw and put the squares and joining colour in there so I dont have to reach far for them as I make it up. And it can go in there over night too. A friend stopped in this morning beofre she had a drs appointment. She had what we think was a massive hypo yesterday. So much that it gave us both a fright. So Im awaiting news. Just as she went to leave I stood up from my chair and went to walk off and it was like the top/side of my foot got jammed and I rolled it over.. It hurts along the top and underneath so Im thinking I have done the Planter Fisti something or other that I did on my left foot. So Ive taken pain meds and have it up. May get my sister in to strap it for me, but Ill see how I go for the next few hours.. Glad to hear MrS is doing soo well Sunflowers, I hope you are also enjoying the break. When I was talking with my friend about my trip etc, we figured out I should take one of my fabric tote bags to slip my phone and e-reader into for when I want to go to the toilet or have a shower etc in the hospital.. when I had my heart done I let security put my phone in a safe, but it came back with a slash type cut in it. And I dont think they do that in Middlemore anyway. Right I shall sit and play here for a while .. Have a fab day everyone Edited by popeye333 at 12:30 pm, Wed 4 Apr popeye333 - 2018-04-04 12:28:00

morning ladies and welcome flick :) I don't have a big stash as I like to use my wool/yarn as I buy it but leftovers go into a big plastic bin and I slide it under the bed. Others have boxes and draws and cupboards. Whatever you use, it needs to be moth and vermin proof. That's good news about MrS, sunflowers. I bet he can't wait to get home. Popeye, that's a good idea about a tote bag for your devices. They are so easily slipped into someone else's bag or pocket and can disappear. Don't forget your chargers too. The Fluffy One goes home today, I see she has had a roll in the open compost bin MrK is emptying. So much for her recent grooming lol. I went to Yin Yoga last night and we tried a new asana (pose). You place the sponge type block under the small of your back and can either leave your feet on the ground, or raise your legs or stretch your legs out. I tried stretching my legs out but couldn't hold the pose for long so went back to feet on the ground. It makes your back arch and stretches it. This morning my back feels so good for it. It has been almost a year since my beginners class and I feel so much more flexible. Was the best birthday pressie from MrK! Crafting this afternoon if I can. Happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2018-04-05 07:48:00
Morning ladies, had a busy day yesterday, knit and natter, then "bunny club" lunch, then shopping, home to cook a chicken and scalloped potatoes for my contribution to a pot luck dinner for the neighbours, at my place as a "bon voyage" celebration. I'm getting good at celebrating for very little reason. Tomorrow morning puss goes to "club med for cats" and then I will quickly zap to the op shops in Kerikeri looking for a white dress and a black skirt and white shirt (we have different "theme" evenings on the boat apparently, one is black - I have that sorted - one is white - I don't have a white dress - and one is "back to school" hence the white shirt and black skirt). I have a black skirt but it needs shortening and I'm running out of time so thought I would try to buy one. Then tomorrow evening we are all having tea at the club because nobody will feel like cooking. Saturday morning bus to Auckland and board the ship around lunchtime. Cast off at 4. I haven't even started packing yet. This morning I want to row out to the boat, and then mow some lawns when I come home. I will really be ready for this holiday by the time I get away. Going to take some knitting and crochet with me. You never know I might have time to do some. Most of the other ladies are taking some. Have a super day everyone. kuaka - 2018-04-05 07:57:00

Morning everyone Welcome Flick. 99% of my wool is acrylic so I dont worry too much about the wool weevil/moth. But I have yarn in pantries, plastic tubs from the warehouse and a 9 drawer scotch chest. I have a list of the last minute things like chargers so I hopefully wont forget anything. Have fun on your cruise Kuaka.. its all the rage at the mo. A couple from the wool groups Im in on Fb have /are both doing cruises. One just got home from doing around NZ and another has just left on the same trip I think. Wow a year already for your Yoga Kiwimade. Stretching the lower back does make it feel soo much better. I curl into a ball to sleep so my spine is stretched out. Shopping this morning and then home to crochet. I have my mojo back. Did 5 squares yesterday. Sorted the drawer beside me so another step closer to making things easy. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2018-04-05 09:02:00
morning ladies :) Oh wow kuaka, go you! A cruise sounds wonderful and I hope you have a great time. I am almost halfway across the last page of stitching popeye, I had an afternoon with dad out and about so could sit and concentrate lol. Happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2018-04-06 07:19:00
Morning ladies, well I am really starting to get excited now. I've been awake since around 4 but I went to bed early last night as I was knackered. I didn't get out to the boat, the wind got up too much, so it will have to wait till I get back. Puss was up before dark miaowing to go out, yesterday the lazy little toad didn't wake till after 11. I haven't let her out, in case she doesn't come back when I call her, so she's gone back to bed. I will take her over to Keri about 9.15 so I can get there before 10 but not have to hang around too long in Keri waiting for the op shops to open, think most of them don't open till 10. Hopefully find something useful, then if I'm back in time, coffee with the Friday "knit and natter" ladies, some of whom are going on the cruise. Then home to finish packing. I started yesterday and have already taken things out and put others in instead. I will probably do more of that before I'm ready. Here's a pic of the dinosaur that I finished yesterday. I think he's quite cute. https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/762690843.jpg Right, I need to have breakfast, shower and then puss and I are going for a drive. I haven't told her, because she doesn't really like the car. She miaows about every 3 seconds, and by the time we get to Kerikeri she should have a sore throat. Have a fab day everyone. kuaka - 2018-04-06 08:11:00
Good Morning Ladies. Have a great cruise kuaka. We have had a couple of cruise boats this week. Must be just about the end of the season. Have you got your date Popeye or are you just working on having everything done,so you don't have to rush at the last minute. Very wise. Well the best laid plans went out window. The equipment that needed for Mike will not arrive till sometime next week.. Because of the two short weeks they are behind getting equipment out. Time to move as I have a couple of jobs finish today. Sat watching some of the games yesterday. Anyone else following the games? sunflowers28 - 2018-04-06 08:30:00
Morning everyone Wow Kiwimade your flying through the last page... Have an awesome time Kuaka.. I fancy going on a cruise at some stage. The worst cats I have ever heard for their howling while in the car is Missy and her Sister Sahree.. Missy was pretty bad but Sahree has this really low gutteral type howl which is extrememly loud. Im going to call soon Sunflowers, they must know for sure by now.. Im all ready, other than making a meatloaf the day before I go, or putting a piece of corned beef in the crockpot the day I do go. Proabbly go with the corned beef so MrP will be able to have it for lunch and tea as he wants it. Yes we saw some of the Games yesterday. I love gymnastics, especially the mens. Felt so sorry for the guy who landed badly on his feet. His coah roared at him and told him to carry on. but I think he knew if he did, it would be the end of his games. One sister friend will be in this morning to raid the silverbeet, and then the house lady will be here this afternoon. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2018-04-06 08:41:00

Well my dinosaur sold this morning. Took it along to show the ladies at knit and natter, and my friends sister who is out from England to go on the cruise with us snapped it up. I'm sharing the cabin with them. I suppose I will have to make another one. kuaka - 2018-04-06 12:27:00

morning ladies :) I love the dinosaur kuaka and great you sold it so quickly too. We're off to Cambridge this morning to swap Dad's bed over. Hopefully that will be the end of his complaining. We've been watching the games too. Yesterday we watched our kiwi ladies in the weightlifting. Go girls lol. Am over hearing the Aussie anthem at the cycling though lol but boy, they are good! Happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2018-04-07 08:04:00
Morning everyone Wow thats awesome Kuaka.. He was so cute. I spent the greater part of yesterday playing phone tag with the hospital. And Basically One department is sorted but the rest have nothng to report.. Ive been fed lies for the last 4 months.. Being told rough times and then yesterday they said no date has been set etc etc. So im tettering on very angry and very upset. MrP has been very good and I told him this morning just be be very careful with what he says... I could burst like a volcano or hit like a Tsunami. Big heavy rain clouds are coming in, yet and hour ago it was lovely and sunny. I have the huge ham bone on for soup. Will be made in stages cos I want to take MrP up to see the gardens at the cenotaf, its beautiful up there. Thne we will watch some more of the games. Have a good day everyone popeye333 - 2018-04-07 09:20:00

Popeye I know the feeling. To get Mr S in for his hip op in the end I spend hours on the phone.. It was stopping him having another small job done . That doctor gave me all her support she could give me.Going from one place to another. At end I left a very strong message for our CEO. His brother married into the family so our paths cross at times. The booking clerk was on the phone to us the next day with a time and date. Fingers crossed I'll have him home this coming week. Spend afternoon in the physio room with Mr S. He had good work out. Hopefully a good sleep. Hope everyone has a great day. sunflowers28 - 2018-04-07 09:50:00
morning ladies :) Today is the day for kuaka's cruise? I hope you have a fab time! I have a few things to do this morning outside, the poppies have self seeded and I can finally see what is a poppy and what is a weed. So I'll thin them all out and hopefully that will do the trick for spring. Cross stitch and the Commonwealth Games this afternoon. Happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2018-04-08 07:48:00
Morning everyone Happy travels Kuaka. Thank you ladies for your support.. I will be staying on their case, at least once a week. Ive been lied to and they shouldnt be allowed to do that. Glad MrS is doing soo well Sunflowers... Flick these appointments take alot of organising at times dont they. I was talking with grandmasue from here yesterday and I am going to talk to our GP tomorrow about getting someone in to stay with MrP while Im gone. We have to be realistic, he wont manage alone. Its taken a long time and denting the pride for me to get to this point. Took MrP out to see the flowers yesterday, he was quite emotional about it. Cos he had family in the war. Unless we go out very early on Anzac day he doesnt have a chance of getting to the parade cos they shut the road off very early. Ended up with 6 litres of very thick meaty soup yesterday.. It did the trick, Im always happy in my kitchen. Not that you would have thought that when I had menopausal hormones, MrP and mum would be sitting in the lounge litsening to me calling myself every name under the sun lol... I will slice it up today and do single serves for MrP.. I dont eat it But Love making it lol. Have the games on and probably be on most of the day too. Have a lovely day everyone popeye333 - 2018-04-08 09:41:00
Morning everyone Up and about early today as MrP has to see the GP for his script. We havent seen her for 6 months, which is good going for us lol. MrP was meant to go and see the cardiologist today, but he has said he would rather not go today.. You travel up there, they weigh you, do your BP and see the dr for about 5 mins max and thats it. So Ill postpone it for today. Watched the games most of the day yesterday. Some awesome Events but I think my fave was the young women with cerabal aplsy doing the long jump and one of the male swimmers with incomplete legs. Soo good that they qualified the same as the able body contestants. Right better Rattle my daggs, havent got the car etc out yet. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2018-04-09 07:30:00
morning ladies :) We've been loving the games too. MrK and Dad particularly like the women's beach volley ball lol... can't possibly think why lol. I like how the para games are run alongside the able bodied games and it's not a whole separate event. Must be better for people going to the games too to see it all. I need to go into town this morning so will take dad with me as he needs some new winter jumpers. MrK will be busy doing his thing. More games action this afternoon and hopefully more medals. Happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2018-04-09 08:39:00

Friends are building a new home and living on site. Had a Wake up call at 7.20 yesterday morning from Mr S to wish me Happy Wedding Anniversary . Went out to lunch which was lovely. Did some knitting and watched some of the games last night. sunflowers28 - 2018-04-09 10:27:00 |

morning ladies :) That's great news popeye, having a date eases the mind quite a bit. I hope everything goes well for you and for flick1 too. I'm out and about this morning visiting a friend from a gardening group I belong too and raiding her garden. She raided mine a year ago lol, it's great to be able to swap plants and ideas. Almost there with the cross stitch, I was able to stitch while watching the games yesterday afternoon. Dad is slowly learning he will only get grunts from me when I'm concentrating lol. MrK figured that out years ago :P Happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2018-04-10 08:06:00
Morning everyone Have fun in the garden Kiwimade.. best way to get plants eh.. Its blowing and wet here so the gardens are being blown about. Still have flowers on the roses. Lol MrP knows that you only get grunts from me if Im on the computer, unless Im also watching the tv while Im on here lol Yes now I can sit back and wait.. Worked out this morning that Ill be doing my blood stuff from the day after the Pre-op so that makes it feel closer. Have to pop up the road this morning and then home to my hook I think. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2018-04-10 08:45:00

morning ladies :) Wow flick1, I hope they sort those allergies for you. It's a shame about the strawberries though! The storm passed over us around 11.00pm-ish, the winds were huge! It's cold but a bit calmer now. I didn't get to my friend's home yesterday as the weather was just rubbish so will try again this afternoon. Some more cross stitch and Commonwealth Games today - I see we won gold in the hammer throw of all things. Happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2018-04-11 08:23:00
Morning everyone Last early day for us lol.. Annual diabetes checks this morning.. 3rd time this week to the med centre lol.. Told MrP we should have taken a pillow and blanket on Monday lol The weather looks much improved. Up the Heads as we call it here, The Awhitu Peninsula they had winds at 212 kms an hour on Tuesday night. Hope Kuakas boat is ok and that the ship managed to avoid it all too. My Aunt and Uncle were on a ship when a huge storm hit Samoa and they were in danger and swearing never to go on a boat again. Sunflowers hope things are going well for MrS being home now. Have a fab day all popeye333 - 2018-04-12 07:44:00
morning ladies :) We have our first frost for the winter but it's going to be a stunning day. We have a big piece of glass that needs cutting for the new porch door so will take that in to be done today and MrK has asked me to help him with a few bits and pieces too. Weeding to be done and windows desperately need doing thanks to the blimmen flies. And some plants I acquired from my friend need planting too. I'm on the home straight with the cross stitch and should finish it soon. I have a list of things I need to knit, jumpers for the grandies and a few baby things for our nieghbour's new baby due next month. Happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2018-04-12 08:20:00

morning ladies :) It's been a busy morning with Dad's personal care giver here and me trying to blat round and clean the bathroom before she gets here. She wipes it out but doesn't clean it so I do that first. Washing is out on the line, sheets, towels, the whole caboodle. We've had some rough weather here but nothing like Auckland or Taranaki. I managed to get some gardening done yesterday too, there's still lots of autum pruning to do but I'll get there. Popeye, I have finished your cross stitch, it's not the best of photos as it's drying on the drying rack after I washed it this morning but it gives you an idea of what it looks like. I'll post it back to you when it's dry and ironed. Happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2018-04-13 10:33:00

We've had many many hours sitting there too flick over the years. I hope your Miss 14 is OK. Dad has settled into his new 'life', it's been a bit hairy-scarey every now and then.
