I reckon you can never have too much wool either

Good evening - well my octogenarian visitors have finally left for home in Oz - MrG s sister and her husband came for 2 weeks and stayed 5 weeks - she would love to move back here after 35 years - they have family on both sides of the Tasman but there is one grandson over there without a father and I think that is what is holding him from returning - was lovely yo have them -they are amazingly fit - every evening they sit and have a gin and tonic together and a chat - they claim their ibsides are pickled - whatever they are doing works - he went out to golf even on the days that were over 30 deg
Going back to Bola -we were camping at the river mouth at Araupounui beach - we left the beach for the day - leaving my car -caravan -boats -motorbikes all sorts of stuff plus my beautiful big ginger cat Thomas -we went out past Hastings to watch my son in a surfing competition had a wonderful day completely oblivious to what was going on up at our beach - by the tone we heard about it we could only drive to the top of the hill and could see no sign of anything just a huge torrent of water - we were devastated not about all the stuff but about Thomas - my husband kept saying look if he was up in the hills hunting rabbits he will be fine -the kids and I cried for days - 7 days later we were able to get in - stopped at the farmhouse about 7kms from our camp and there was Thomas asleep in their lounge - he had arrived there 3 days after Bols and made himself at home - the only other things that survived was two little yatchs an old uncle of mine built for the kids
Kiwimade my son bought from mitre 10 these things to hang onto in the shower which my elderly guests found really useful - they have big suction cups that attach to the inside of the shower with a really good piece for you to hang onto when you step out the shower -they might be good for your Dad - you can unclip the suction cups to clean the shower - my description is terrible !
Popeye you put me to shame with all your meal prep and crafting - now the weather is cooling I might get enthused again
Kuaka if you are still looking for ideas for the cruise ships my friend in Sydney who has a stall is making simple crochet cotton bags - sort of torpedoe shape that rolls into a little ball which they seem to like and also cotton wash cloths
That's enough rambling on

Morning everyone.
Sounds like you have had a lovely time with the visitors Gerry.. Wow Soo pleased re Thomas.. Life is precious, other stuff can be brought again.

Have my friends Mums Funeral today.. Alot of me doesnt want to go, cos I know its going to hurt. But we also havent seen each other for many years.. But I will go.

Its overcast so I hope it doesnt rain for her.

No other plans for the day cos it would be just my luck to get the leads out to trim the fern and it would rain..

Take care and have a Fab day all

morning ladies (just lol). Thanks for the tip Gerry, I'll look out for those. We have some ladies coming tomorrow to assess Dad (again) as he has moved. Should prove interesting to see what he tells them. He's trying hard to fit in and no trouble (so far). Our granddaughter is keeping him on his toes lol.

I'm hoping to do some crafting this afternoon, will see how I go. I'm sorry it's taking so long popeye, it's been a busy few months with family.

Afternoon ladies, don't seem to have achieved much so far today. Breakfast and shower and then went for a 6.5km walk with a friend, and needed to shower again when I got home. Then a couple of friends arrived and we had coffee, and now I'm about to have lunch.

Gerry, I'd been quite interested in the crochet bags if you can point me towards a pattern, as I can't quite visualise them.

It's blowing a fair gale here but not all that cold. Don't think I feel like gardening though today, so I think after lunch I will put my feet up and knit. I'm doing a cow tea cosy for the market and want to get it finished so I can get back to the turtle puzzle I've also got on the go.

Have a super day everyone.

Morning everyone.
Ohh Kiwimade it doesnt matter how long it takes you to do the cross stitch. Life comes first.. But it nice to have on hand when you want some rest and you time
Kuaka I know of a lady who makes shopping bags from plastic bags. They are very cool. But can be made in cotton etc too. Ill find her page on FB so you can see hers.
Had an interestng weekend. Just before I left for the funeral I found a kitten in our garden, so went next door to see if it was theres, which it wasnt and turned to see the guy from across the road carrying another one. So I very quickly arranged for the Cat rescue lady to come get them.
Was an emotional funeral, but glad I went.
Then stupidly put a comment up about the kittens and people who dump them should be hung.
Well the so called owners took offense.. Ended up yesterday they came to visit. A big strong bloke but he had to bring his bull mastiff for protection lol. Then his wife walked up the street yelling and screaming like a foul mouthed fish wife.
She threatened to get the cops. I said Please do.
So they came and werent very happy with her for calling them cos they were busy and they didnt have to waste time over petty sh*t.

They have a bad case of reading between lines that arent there, and paranoia.

So the day went a bit strangley. I hope they get over their crap... lol

We have a cool wind here. I was hoping to get into the front garden and pull some weeds, but I cant afford to get sick either. Not now its getting close.

Have a fab day everyone. i def need to do some crochet

Morning everyone
Overcast here today.

Have bloods to do today, so decided we might as well do all of them in one hit.
Didnt get into the garden yesterday. And Ive been firmly told by friends not to worry about anything gardening wise, cos they want me well too.

I got 5 squares done, so am pleased with that.

Charlie the hernia is pushing himself to be noticed. My belly button is sooo tight now.. So lets hope the 3-4 weeks go faster lol.. Mind you before we know it, it will be the middle of the year.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) It's been a busy few days here with dad, lots to help him organize. His personal care lady has been so that is ticking along. Just a few more bits and pieces to sort out.

Our car goes in for a WoF today and Dad needs new tyres for his car so that will be done today. And he has some bathroom equipment he doesn't need so trying to track down who to give those to. He's more independant here and is definately sleeping better.

Crafting this afternoon.

Popeye you have been so busy getting meals etc planned for yourselves when you come home and for Mr P while you in hospital. The next 3-4 weeks will fly by and next we hear you are back home.
Hope everyone else is well and enjoying their days crafting, outings ..

What have I been up too? Back and forwards to the hospital with Mr S after we got the news he has his hip op this Thursday He will most likely go to into Rehab Ward before he come home.( 4 trips ) Easy day for him today.

Called into Skeinz Yarn Store Monday at the start of their Sale. I came away with some lovely Orbfine 4ply shades of grey 100% Merino. Yes my only purchase. I do well. So many lovely yarns and colours.
If all goes well I will start my shawl . Settler by Libby Jonson (Trulymyrtle ). If you have not seen her work, check it out ladies.

Time for me to move as I have appointment to see my own Doctor this morning just to touch base. After that I just may pop over to the Gym which is least than 5 min walk away.Haven't been for a week now.

Morning everyone.
Pleased to hear dad is settling in Kiwimade. a big adjustment for all... You saying about the equipment, we have a Wallker for MrP. Have had it for years. But there is no record of it coming via the Hospital board.. They have looked several times and cant find any record. lol

Busy time for you too Sunflowers.. It will be good to have hubby all sorted and to finally have his hip done.

I saw a friend yesterday, he is looking sooo tired. He said he hasnt been sleeping well. He looks after his Mum.. When I see him again Ill gently recommend some respite. So he can have a rest.

The nurse will come today, for the last time and take MrP's Picc line out.. A bit more freedom for him.

Your right Sunflowers, as soon as the letter arrives the time will whizz by. I have friends organizing a team , to do a spring clean and do the gardens for me while Im away.. which is absolutely wonderful.. She has even told me if I drop something I need to let her know and she will come pick it up. MrP topples over if he leans over. I do have a grabber thing that will work for little things.

Officially the start of Autumn and its a true autumn morning.

Have creaky bones today, so a day on my hook I hink

Morning ladies, another lazy start to the day. I must have breakfast and get ready to go to knit and natter - need to take something "no think" with me. Think I might cast on another mobius cowl, then I can just go round and round until I run out of wool. They seem to sell at the markets and I only have two left.

Just a heads up for those of you who list on here, if you list today and you are not "in trade" you won't be charged a success fee if the item sells.

It's probably just as well I don't live near Skeinz or my stash would be even bigger than it already is and my bank balance would be much smaller.

Right, I had better get cracking or it will be time to come home before I go out.

Have a super day everyone.

morning ladies :) I'm feeling a tad stiff this morning as I tried a new asana (pose) at yoga last evening. But boy oh boy did I sleep well. So I think Yin Yoga will be my 'go too' when stressed over dad.

Last evening while I was out at Yoga Dad and MrK sorted out their 'alpha male' differences and I came home to a much more relaxed house. I knew there would be a few settling in issues so glad it was all sorted while I was out.

I have a few more things to do in town today as I didn't quite get through my list yesterday. Dad wants a copy of a pic of Mum and I couldn't find my original digital copy but I found an old sim card I think came out of the old camera. Will take it in and see if the camera people can open it as it won't open on the new laptop or the replacement camera.

Crafting this afternoon I hope.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
I too am pleased I dont have a skeinz shop near by.. I really cant get any more wool. Cos we have too many trips to hospital and drs appointments eating up every last cent.

MrP had his picc line out yesterday and he feels soo much freer now. Hes even coming shopping with me. He hasnt been to the supermarket since before christmas.

Glad the Bloke thing is sorted Kiwimade. We had to do the same. But also years ago when I had my heart surgery there was a big power struggle from mum.
My girl managed to mess on my bed yesterday. I dont think she liked the nurse being here. It was a new one, so i think she was totally upset. So I have all my linen and wool blankets to wash. Ive cut the leads on the electric blanket. I wont risk it. So I need to check I think we had one spare electric one from when Mum was here.

Was sick last night... so am pretty much weary today.

Ohh It was really weird I had my hand resting on my tummy and I felt the hernia gurgling away.. I guess its the closest thing Ive had to feeling a baby move lol.. Was quite neat really lol
Right better check FB and then take the man out to the old oppy. They have a half price sale so ill get some more jam jars

Have a fab day everyone

Good morning ladies:) What day yesterday turned out to be. My knee gave out on me as I was walking to an appointment. Finally got to my appointment 2 hours later. Called a friend who took me down to local Medical Center and had an x-ray. Everything looked ok. told to go home and keep off it and put ice pack on it.
Just before I walked out the door a phone call from hospital. Mr S op may be put off as they have an urgent op to do first thing in the morning will let us know around mid day if he going to have his op today. I will pack his bag this morning just in case. The bottom line is I could be in for a very long day and night.
Knee has gone down so will go across to the gym and do so light work out for 30 mins or so. I get one of the staff member to work along side me today.Hope it clear my head and I can get on with doing some tidy up

Did some no thinking knitting last night. Its a going to a small blanket. using up some thread waste I purchased from the bin sometime ago. 8 ply 100% merino . Just have to wind it yourself as It comes in hanks mainly.Yes it handy having Skeinz down the road Kiwimade .Great buy for kids knitwear and for other craft work.I always have a good look in the bin.
I've had my first coffee for today,so time to make a move.

Hope you all have a great day and enjoy it.

Ouchies Sunflower, re your knee.. Hope it mends soon.

Mnd sort of gave away backwards, hard to describe it locked but really bent backwards. So Im going to strap it tightly soon. Proabbly need to have it xrayed

Ohh I do hope they dont put MrS off.. Unfortunatly the only way to consol ourselves is to know that hopefully the emergency person gets to live.

Took MrP up the road. He got all the way around the opp shop, with lots of standing talking to all the ladies, who were too scared to ask me if he was ok, cos they hadnt seen him in so long. And were too scared to ask, incase he had died lol...
He didnt come in the supermarket but that was a good thing cos it would have taken me alot longer and my knee made it hard enough.

Along with the $10-99 cauliflower they didnt even have any loose carrots.. I only wanted two to make a carrot cake later.. Cos I have heaps frozen. The bags were $4.. but they did have some very sorry looking ones with their tops still on that were $4 for 4.. So I went to the fruit shop and got two large ones for 80 cents and they are nice and fresh.
Our NW manager needs to find better suppliers.

Got an appointment for MrP's annual cardiology appointment, which is April 9th, so Ill ring them and ask at what date can we get it changed, if I have gone in by then... I dont like having to ring up say the day before etc, cos thats time someone else can have..
So a bit of juggling around now .

Right a play on here while the pain meds kick in.

I saw on the news the other evening popeye, cauli was expected to hit the $10.00 mark this month. It's because of the weird weather we've been having and so-called demand. The guy said don't buy it if too expensive for you! He also said prices should come down next month.

Sorry to hear about your knee sunflowers, how frustrating. Fingers crossed MrS has had his op by now.

Tomorrow our car goes into the garage for new brake pads and something to do with the steering. Then it should pass it's WoF. MrK recieved his licence pack today as his drivers licence expires when he turns 75 in May so another milestone for him.

kiwimade64 - 2018-03-22 16:49:00
13318

Yeah kiwimade if I was desperate for Cauli Id buy the frozen stuff. Alot cheaper.

Wow another May birthday lol...

MrP votuntarally stopped driving, but he didnt hand in his licence, incase he has to drive in an emergency.. But to be honest his perception of distance is shot so it would be dangerous going with him driving.
I cant wait till hes 75, cos theres no way he would pass the test etc

morning ladies :) MrK has taken our car in for those repairs and I'm about to follow in Dad's car to pick him up. He's taken the Furry One for a ride lol so we'll have one happy dog.

Did a bit more to the cross stitch yesterday, slow progress with Dad wanting to chat all the time and I need to concentrate! Will get there in the end.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone.
Ohh your wee boy will be all excited Kiwimade. and probably is enjoying the fact that the ride is not to the vet.

I know what you mean about having extras who want to chat all the time. Takes a bit of getting used to when its only been two of you for a long while.

Have one of the blankets in the machine. its fine here so they can both go out in the sun.. These blankets are 40 years old this year cos my parents got them as a wedding present. And they are huge. They must be kingsize cos theres heaps of tuck in even on a queen bed.

Have iced the cake. Its looking yummy.

Hopefully get some crochet done later

have a fab day

morning ladies :) The repairs to our car turned into an added oil leak as well so it's still in the garage. We have a courtesy car to tide us over so all good.

I have the garden to finish weeding today and I need to do some autum pruning. I'm hoping I can get it done before the thunder storms kick in this afternoon.

I met dad's personal care giver yesterday and she's lovely. I still have some of his equipment to return though.

Afternoon everyone. Just getting really to make another trip to the hospital. The surgery went will, the team was very pleased. I spoke to him just before he went up to ward from recovery ward.on Thursday . Everything was ok till someone charted pain meds from the 'Do Not Give List' yesterday sometime. He was ok when I spoke to him in morning by evening he was off in his own world. Ended up over there most of the night. A lot better today. I'll go later this afternoon and see him.
Sun shining so I got up and worked away in the garden for a while.
I was going to start a shawl in a Knit a Long today.. One of Truly Myrtle's shawl patterns. Doing either settler or rattan. May try and start it tonight.

Hope you get car back next week kiwimade. Poor bank account.

Having crafting ladies.

morning ladies :) That is great news about MrS and his surgery... it's on and upwards now!

yep, poor bank account lol but it needs to be done. The loaner car is a zippy little thing and has made us think a bit more about Hyundai.

Next week the Fluffy One is visiting for a week while my sister is away so the Furry One will have his mate to play with. Dad is missing the Fluffy One too so he'll be happy.

A cruisey day today I think, should involve a bit of crafting.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone from a decent Foggy Morning.. Reminds me of the Waikato.. At least it means it should be fine later. I assume the airport wont be too flash this morning. lol

Isnt it funny if we get a loaner car from the garage MrP always thinks it would be good to have.. but then its seldom he gets to go in it, so doesnt realise how low a normal car is now. He would never be able to get in or out of it.

The Furry and fluffy ones will have fun Kiwimade. I think its neat they can get together.

I have plum sauce in the pot today. I have everything prepped but the apples.. But need to nip up the road first. The plums are defrosted so that speeds up the process.
My Jam looked lovely yesterday. Best put some lables on too since I threw the pineapple into the pot with it.

Asked a friend yesterday and only 2 more weeks of school till the holidays again already.. They finish on Black Friday .

Have a lovely day everyone.

Morning ladies - just - it was a very foggy start to the day here too popeye! It has cleared now but it's overcast with patches of blue sky. Yesterday we had several bouts of heavy rain, the first one woke me at some ungodly hour, and we had another as I was getting ready to go to the craft market (which wasn't very successful - I sold just one pair of gloves!) Another one tomorrow but there is a ship in tomorrow, and then there are no more markets for me until the end of April. I'm a little bit tired of them if I'm honest. It's okay when it's busy and you're selling heaps, but when it's quiet and you just sit all day knitting or crocheting, then I think I would prefer to be at home.

I managed to finish the turtle puzzle ball but it didn't sell, never mind. I'm working on a dinosaur one now, I think it will be cute.

Right, I had better finish my coffee and do something useful. Have to nip to town, hope I can get what I want or I will have to go to Kerikeri.

Have a super day everyone.

morning ladies :) Do you think you will flag the markets over winter kuaka?

Your jam and sauce looks good popeye, MrK does our preserving now and I miss the jam making.

I have a couple of things to do in town with dad today, the last of his 'moving in stuff' and another trip to drop more stuff off at the op shop.

It's going to be another beautiful day, love these warm autum days.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone.

Thanks Kiwimade.. I would feel broken if I couldnt do preserving etc.. I get immense pleasure doing it.. Just reheated the one jar of sauce that didnt seal. So hopefully it will work this time, or it will be the first eaten.

Since we are losiing our greenwaste bin at the end of the week I will be out pruning the dead wood from the blackberries and some of the weeds.. The company messaged me and since we dont fill it fast enough and they have people waiting for bins they asked if I could give it back.. A bit cheeky really but Ill get a couple of bins or something and make our own compost. So I have to trim the fern before it goes too.. That will depend on the weather as I have an electric hedge trimmer.. It wont take long so should be able to get a gap in the weather to do it this week.

Havent done any crochet since last week... My head is in the kitchen lol

Have a fab day all

I have had a productive morning

Realised there is a dent in the lid of the jar that wont seal. So Ive put it in the fridge, after using some for Mrp's lunch, Roast pork and plum sauce sandwiches. He is enjoying them

I got the dead wood out of the Blackberries, and the kaikuyu grass that had stretched up. Discovered I have two very healthly looking new spines on the raspberries. Yay.
And have trimmed the fern... Got a bit of a dip in the middle. but we have gained back half the width of the footpath. Ill ask the lawn guys on thursday if they could run the weedeater along the roots that are too hard for me to break off.

So now I have the front garden to do. Which involves alot of reaching bending. So Ill break that into a couple of days.

I will get growled at from my sister cos she told me she will get it all done while Im in hospital, but I wasnt paying for an empty bin lol.

Im a bit creaky but I was expecting to be worse.. lol

I have almost finished another 'section' of your cross stitch popeye, I'll post a pic when done. So that will make it two thirds finished.

The Furry One and I are heading outside to mow the lawn.

Morning ladies, a better day at the market yesterday although I didn't make my first sale till lunchtime. I'm not sure about the markets through winter kiwimade, I can't remember what we did last year, but there aren't many months when there aren't ships in, and our normal "market days" are the second and fourth saturday of the month. I think they continue right through winter, and to be honest, it's easier to sell gloves and scarves when the weather is cold than trying to sell to Aussies from Brisbane and the like.

This morning I plan to shift some firewood, I've still got half of the load that we had delivered just before Mr K passed away which needs to be brought up from the lower garden to the house, and then I have the firewood from the tree that was cut down, some of it is under a tarp, and some is just out in the open, so once I've moved the stuff we bought, then I can put the stuff which is uncovered, in the space under the tarp where the bought stuff has been shifted from. Make sense? Well it does to me. And it will be hard work.

Then I "might" do some weeding and this afternoon I'm at mah jong and hopefully a walk after that with a friend.

Yesterday at the market I pulled the turtle apart and then couldn't get it back together again. Obviously I will have to practise that - I did feel a bit of a fool. The ordinary balls are easy and the elephant was easy but the turtle isn't. The dinosaur should be easy too.

Right, well the firewood won't shift itself, so I had better get cracking and do some. It is going to take several sessions to get it all shifted. Too much to do in one hit.

Have a super day everyone.

A beautiful day here.. was warm overnight.

Well Im pleased to say I got all the gardens done yesterday.. Achy bones, yes but I am pleased I managed to get it done.. When I was digging the kitten out I must have been pulling at the kaikuyu so it wasnt a hard thing to do. Missed a little by the lemon tree so Ill grab that later.

I have tomatoes defrosted in the pot to make soup this morning./ but Im having a lazy start first lol.
Your doing well with the cross stitch Kiwimade.. I miss doing it but even with new glasses I wouldnt be able to see it.

Been lots of firewood being moved around town here Kuaka.. Everyone getting ready.

Good morning Ladies Not sure where the time goes with having to travel across to Hastings to the Hospital Yes! Mr S is till there. Op went well and now up and walking with the walker. He is going over to Rehab in the nest day or so. They have some empty beds at present.

We have green waste bin that goes out every couple of weeks. If not fill it can be monthly. No problems. Only use it to get the unwanted weeds off the section. Have a couple of compost bins. Have a look around there be other companies in your area popeye.
Your Jams and Sauces look good. So handy to have in the cupboard. Have crab apples on the stove at present . Make crab apple jelly. Good crop again this year. I just wash, cut bag them and into the freezer till I am ready. Cooked up Orange and Lemon Honey at the w/end. We have a couple of good Orange Trees that give us bags and bags of fruit..

Good to hear your dad is making himself at home with you and Mr K. Will he still go to OZ for his few weeks? It means you both will have break from each other if he goes.
Talking about firewood I ordered some to come after Easter. Still have a lot over from last year,so will get away with just one load. this winter. Fingers Crossed.
My knitting coming along. Just about finished one blanket and have more there for a second one. I did go to Skeinz sale on the first day and brought Orbfine for a shawl/wrap. Never got to go back. May do on Saturday final day.
Enjoy your day

I miss our crab apple tree Sunflowers... they really make the best Jelly eh.. Well along with blackberries.
A very poor crop berrywise this year. but the plants are looking healthy so might be better next year.
Glad MrS is doing so well.

Soup is made, smells soo good. I dont eat it tho.. Will pot up and freeze later.
My body is telling me it needs a rest. Had a strange dizzy moment at 3am this morning, and Im felling rather weak if that makes sence at the mo.. So Im partaking in the crust of the loaf of bread I made this morning. And I will sit and relax.

267 pages of this - isn't that a bit boring? Or are people trying to set a record?

We'll you might find it boring but you are outnumbered as there are a lot of followers who enjoy. Its the first thing I look at when I open up the computer. Perhaps you could start up a thread of your own that you are interested in.

morning ladies and welcome carton :) Sometimes the ordinary and every day stuff is just what is needed eh.

Fingers crossed sunflowers, MrS will be home soon and racing around.

The Fluffy One arrives today, Dad is looking forward to her stay but MrK isn't lol. He doesn't like her high pitched bark. My sister-in-law is also visiting today, passing through on her way home.

I mowed the lawns yesterday and omg it was hot work. The grass is still growing like summer.

I have finished the next page of cross stitch popeye, one more to go. I'll take a pic when the lighting is better during the day and post it.

Happy knitting :)

Edited to add the pic

Morning ladies, knit and natter this morning, so again I will find something easy to do, something that I don't need to concentrate on. I've just splurged and done a big order at Skeinz ($162) at least now I don't have to smuggle it into the house. Next thing on my list of luxury spends is to upgrade from my Knitpro inter-changeables to Chiaogoo which I'm told by popeyes sister are much better than the knitpro. I've been considering it for a while, and I figure with the amount of knitting that I do, that I should have really good quality tools.

Kiwimade, you are making good progress with the cross-stitch, it looks as though it would be far too fine for me to struggle with.

Well I had better get moving, I need to do some washing and have a bit of a tidy up before I go out, and there's nobody else here to do it - the cat is useless!

Looks like we might have a shower before long - I didn't see the forecast last night. I guess we just have to take what we get.

Have a super day everyone.

PS. Skeinz now charge $4.95 shipping regardless of how much you spend, but it is still good value

Morning everyone

I agree Carton and Kiwimade. This is almost like blog/diary. I know I have checked back through the pages to find out when something has happened.

Hoping for improvements for MrS.. It will change his life, and free from pain.

Yesterday was a warm one Kiwimade, and I agree the lawns havent slowed a bit yet. I have to go get the money for ours this morning, incase they are moving the friday ones in before the weekend.

I have little tolerance for High pitched yappy dogs now too Kiwimade lol.. Everytime my sister in law made theirs bark when they were here it pushed my buttons lol.

Have to pot the soup up today and have some dishes to do. but Ill go to the bank first.

Ohh The Cross stitch is looking awesome Kiwimade. Apparently we have a framer in town, Ill ask one of the ladies at the supermarket cos I think she had a cross stitch framed hmm quite a few years ago.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) We seemed to have friends and family coming and going all day yesterday, was good though.

The Fluffy One raced in as she would normally but didn't see dad until he called her. She was so excited to see him and him her.

MrK is busy building another compost bin for me so I need to buy a bit more timber for it so he can finish. And our sheep is ready to be picked up from the butcher this morning. I'll also drop off the last of the hospital gear dad doesn't need so a busy morning this morning in town.

Crafting I hope this afternoon.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Wow you are a busy one today Kiwimade.. I bet the Furry one is as happy as a pig in mud with a buddy to play with.
Ive had a rough night.. The bowl of nutrigrain i spoilt myself with on Tuesday has caused a bad side effect. so needless to say im tired from being up and feeling slightly weak.

My grandgirls mum came in this morning so I gave her the rest of the box and Izzy was happy. Munching them with both handsfull while we talked lol.

Lawnguys are coming this morning, and Ive asked if tghey will trim the roots from the ferns for me. Which they said they will.. so that makes it safer for MrP's walker and shuffling feet.

I have to go get a few things at the supermarket,.. a few that I added up in my head and will cost about $80 .. totally rediculous.
Have to go to the zero waste shop and pay for the bin.. that goes today too.

Still not doing any crochet, just cant get enthused at the mo.

MIssy Moo is 4 today, shes gone shy and is still in the bedroom lol

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) Yep, vegies are becoming so expensive, a, glad we grow most of our own. I'm thinking more and more people will start doing that too.

Housework for me then a lazy(ish) day for me I think. MrK has a few things to potter about with and dad's personal care lady comes this morning.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone

I dont know how those who, dont know how to garden or dont have time or room cope. We only had butter beans, scarlet runners , two tomatoes and the pumkins planted. but Im very thankful for that.
Plus the cheap fruit and vege shop that we go to. The supermarket prices are the worst. and unless we drive out of town we only have the choice of New World and Super Value to choose from.

The Lawn guys trimmed the roots from the fern yesterday. it looks soo much nicer and more importantly safer for MrP.

I want to declutter a bit today.. The stuff thats been getting sumped on the table instead of putting it away.

And I will have to make myself crochet later or the blanket wont be ready on time for the May birthday.

HAve a fab relaxing day everyone and Happy Easter

Loving the wetaher at the mo... Still have the fan on at night, and Missy sleeps on me, so obviously she gets more warmth that the cold lol

Im going to go up the road then come home and make the first attempt of hot cross buns for many years. using the dough function on the bread maker for the first time.

Still no crochet.. Probably just as well that the neice doesnt know she is getting it lol.

A 1/3rd of the year gone already..

Have a fab day everyone

Afternoon ladies, I went for a 6km walk this morning and came home absolutely knackered, had a shower and breakfast and did the dishes, swept the kitchen/dining room floor and sat down to have a coffee, and just about dozed off.

Actually popeye, I think the year is 1/4 gone not a third, but it's still whizzed by!

I'm making good progress on my dinosaur puzzle ball, should be able to finish it before I go away next week, I will have to sort out something to take with me. Even though I'm going to be on holiday I know I can't go 10 days without knitting or crocheting or I'll go bonkers.

Right, quick lunch and then I'm off to the club to play mah jong.

Have a super afternoon/evening everyone.

morning ladies and Happy Easter! We're expecting our daughter and her family today so it's going to be noisy and busy. The two dogs will be shattered by the end of the day and I suspect we all will be too. All good fun though.

I'm sorry daylight saving has finished, it still feels warm enough to still have it but I guess it has to end at some stage.

No crafting today as there will be small fingers around.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone''

Oops yes 1/4 gone lol

It will be fun with the kids kiwimade, but yep everyone will be worn out.

I actually did 3 sqaures last night. My wrists were aching.

Total failure in the mornng with the first batch of H/C buns cos some silly cow forgot to put the yeast in. They second batch were excellent tho. The best Ive ever made.

I dont think there will be much happening here today.

Have a fab day everyone and dont eat Too much choccy, not that Ive ever heard of there being "Too" much choccy lol

Morning ladies, I agree kiwimade, it always seems that the weather settles about the same time as we put the clocks back. The weather yesterday was just glorious, far better than a lot of the days we had in summer.

I'm still progressing the dinosaur puzzle. It is probably one of the easier ones and I should have done it first. Never mind. I have a few on my list of things to do. I'm waiting for a friend to ring. We were supposed to be going for a walk but she phoned earlier and said "change of plan, we're going to visit another friend who lives out of town" so I'm waiting for the phone call to say they are ready.

I will sit and do a few rows of knitting while I wait.

Have fun everyone - and no there probably isn't "too much choccy"!

Stay safe on the roads if you are travelling.
