Morning everyone
Wow what a day we had yesterday.

Went shopping with my friend and we enjoyed the time out.

Got home and MrP wasnt well at all. Feverish hot cold etc. So in the end I asked him to use his alarm.
He went to hospital Status 2... A friend and I went up and drove through the storm, that was an experience.. but the idiots must have all been at home cos everyone was driving to the conditions.

I havent run as yet, but they thought last night that he may have the infection settled in the new heart valve. Will update when I know.

So it was about 1am before I got home and asleep. And I dont even remember if I had my insulin last night. but I think I had cos it was ok this morning.

Have fun with your grandie Kiwimade..

Have a fab day all

oh crap popeye, an infection in the heart valve was what MrK had a few years back and I nearly lost him. Fingers crossed they have it in time and he doesn't need surgery like MrK.

13154

Popeye - hope Mr P is feeling a lot better this morning - out driving in that storm would have certainly added to your stress levels - take care of your self

13155

Thanks everyone.
Have managed to speak to him this morning, but not the nurse thus far. The drs came in when we were talking so Ill ring shortly and see whats happening.
Cos his heart was done via the groin I wonder if they are able to flush the valve or something. Time will tell.

I dont stress Gerry. Hes in the best place.

13156

Popeye - yes I came to believe that as well very early when my old boy was sick -the hospital certainly was a safe haven

Morning everyone,
A wet start to the day , but its not horribly hot with it.

Spoke to MrP last night. He was tired but gave me some news which I will confirm with Drs before I truely take it on board cos he sounded quite confused. Which he has been for a while now.

I still havent touched my crochet hook.. But Im not worried.

Have tomatoes to slice and freeze and some beans and corn to blanch and freeze so Im getting things done.

You never think about how much time you devote to looking after another person in the house, until you suddenly have all this spare time. So Im getting heaps done.

Have a fab day everyone

13158

morning ladies :) FIngers crossed for MrP, popeye. He will be in excellent hands.

You know you don't need to blanche the corn right? Just toss it into bags husks and all and freeze. Then when ready to eat, just microwave for around four minutes being careful when taking the husks off.

Our grandson slept well until 3.00am then 4.00am but settled after a cuddle. I think he threw h is blankets off and was cold.

Happy crafting :)

Good Morning everyone ,
Temp inside this morning is 20's and light rain after days of high 20's -30's.

Yes, popeye, people do not understand just how much time is spend devoted to looking after a love one in the home. Mr S goes to a Rest Home one day a week for between 6 and 8 hours Started last month. Boy, do I get a lot done during that time. First couple of weeks I slept for 3-5 hours.Starting now to enjoy my free day.
Little knitting or other craft the last couple of weeks.

Made Lemon and Orange Honey. Juiced the last of the Oranges. Now on the look out for Tomatoes for sauces etc to use over the winter, Had to take my plants all out as they got the rust on them.Given a couple of lots of beans, they now in the freezer.

Time to move as I have washing to go out and then off to check out a monthly market. Hope to do some Book Art over the w/end Book Art friend dropped off a couple of projects for me all cut out and ready for me.

Have a great day everyone.

Ive heard that you dont need to blanch the corn. But I boil it. Not that keen on it microwaved for some reason. Its only four cobs so wont take long. Have some beans to do too.

Have spoken to MrP, he had a good sleep and doesnt sound as confused. Spoke to his nurse and she didnt think he had been told bad news. But I will talk to the drs when I can.. MOndy morning will be the best time I guess.
Right time to get off here and get some work done.

Morning everyone
Overcast here but not hot,, Yay.

Just spoke to MrP's Nurse. He had a fairly good night apparently. But I asked if they could please give him a shower, he hadnt had one since he went in.. I know theyre are busy but he needs to be freshend up.
She will get the dr to call me, and then I will talk to MrP. Cos he seems a little confused as to whats happening.

I never realised how little there is for me thats interesting, on the TV lol... Normally the tv stays on Turbo or westerns, cos thats what MrP likes.. But theres not that much else that interests me lol...

Hope you had fun with you Grand boy Kiwimade.

And I hope everyone is enjoying the slightlly cooler weather.

Have a fab day everyone

Good morning - yes sometimes Popeye they need a gentle reminder from us that things need to be done - I found out my old boy was telling the nurses he didn't want to shower and was then moaning to us about how uncomfortable he felt - he said they were all so busy and he was difficult to shower with his oxygen thingee
Was supposed to be rsining by lunch time but it is a beautiful blue sky day very hot

morning ladies :) Our grandson goes home today, our daughter stayed the night as she had had lots of driving yesterday and there was a massive thunder storm here.

Housework today and this time it's spring clean style. Will work my way through the house and move furniture etc a bit at a time.

Crafting this afternoon, I haven't touched your cross stitch for days popeye so hope to get a bit more done today.

Happy knitting :)

13164

Morning everyone
Dont worry about not getting the cross stitch done over the weekend Kiwimade, your Grandie is far more important.. Glad you had a lovely time with him.

I slept in, compared to the last several days.. I am sleeping well which is good.

I went up to see MrP.. He has MRSA or the Hospital bug as they call it , they are pretty sure it is in the heart valve. So they are thinking about starting him on clexane shots to make sure his blood gets around. And are putting PIC line in tomorrow.
I have to go learn hown to do his antibiotics into it, early next week and then he can come home/
I can get the district nurses to do it if I need too. Cos he will have it 6-8 weeks at least.
Hoping that that time frame will cover my surgery time and that will mean I know MrP will be seen by at least 2 people twice a day.

He was more like my MrP yesterday than he was last week thats for sure.

They are adjusting his insulin down, cos he is having hypos, so its good they should have that sorted out too. Hes been allowed to eat what ever he wants to try and get them up again, for the last couple of days.

Might pop up to the supermarket later, Ill think about it tho.

Have a fab day all

popeye333 - 2018-02-06 09:15:00
13165

Popeye - that's good to hear they have a definite plan to get MrP on the mend and home - the district nurses were fantastic to me -
Hot and windy here today but forecast isn't too good for the next few days - have my brother and sister in law arriving tomorrow from Oz for Art Deco weekend so hope the weather is kind to them - they are both in their 80s - have just been to the tennis in Melbourne now over here for Art Deco - marvellous at their age

gerry64 - 2018-02-06 10:15:00
13166

morning ladies :) That's awesome Gerry, how neat to be fully active in your 80's.

We've heard on the local grapevine we may have another power cut today as the linesmen will be working on the other farm beside us. Will be pleased when all the cross bars are done but it's better to do it now than have power failures in the winter.

I have a few things to do in town today, need ink for the printer so I can print MrK's birthday invites to his luncheon and get them out and MrK needs another 'script and his meds so while in town will pick that up.

Crafting this afternoon all going well!

happy knitting :)

kiwimade64 - 2018-02-07 07:41:00

Morning everyone
Wow Gerry what a busy couple... We have a lovely older couple a few doors down.
Olive and I had a chat outside on Friday as she was walking Poppy her poodle.. She was warning me that this coming weekend they are having a birthday Party for her,. Shes 90. There will be 41 people coming, some from Aussie and around NZ. Will be soome campers which could be parked in the front of our place..
I told her I had better put noise controls number on my speed Dial, and she said if it gets too bad come and join us lol. She is one very fit English lady who has such a fantastic attitude towards life.

I agree Kiwimade, better to have the power all sorted before winter.

MrP has his two proceedures done this morning. He was a very Mr Grumpy bear yesterday. He even hung up on me.. But I was talking to a nurse and theres a very loud lady on the ward who kepts everyone awake. So he had managed a wee bit of sleep during the day and was far more polite when I spoke to him last night.

I will make myself do some crochet today, instead of sitting here playing patience.. Thats one thing I do miss about having mum here, playing scrabble and cards.

Have a fab day everyone

13168

Morning all - made a real fool of myself they come next week - I sent them a message to warn them the weather forecast for today wasn't too good and they replied Art Deco isn't until next week - oh well at least everything is ready for them upstairs -
Good rain off and on last night - my lawn is saying thank you
Can't seem to get at all enthused about crafting - starting to concern me a bit - hoping it is just the high temps that is the stumbling block
I know I shouldn't Pooeye but I had a chuckle about MrP being grumpy every now and again - my old boy was the same everynow and again

gerry64 - 2018-02-07 10:06:00
13169

Lol Gerry... I call MrP Grumpy Bear when he is grumpy. Its simple frustration for him that he cant do things normally like he used to.

It doesnt bother me unless Im not feeling great myself.

Oops re the date for The Art Deco week... Im going to see that oneday in the future.

Done one square lol... But have written up a design and worked out how many squares I need and how much wool required. Im a record keeper and know what weight of wool I use for each different sized square etc. Now I have to decide what order to do the colours.

popeye333 - 2018-02-07 12:29:00
13170

morning ladies :) I'm hoping mrK will do the no more gaps thing this morning for me so I can paint the first coat of paint onto the porch later this evening. He has been promising me to do it for ages even though I can do it myself.

It looks like Dad will be moving in with us so big changes ahead. Still sorting all the ins and outs.

I had my first Yin Yoga class for the year last evening and it felt so good to be back. There were lots of new faces too which is awesome and of course, us regulars.

I did manage a bit of cross stitching yesterday and hopefully a bit more today.

happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Wow Big changes alright Kiwimade. With your dad moving in.. But often alot safer and more peace of mind for you too.
Isnt it funny there are things we can do but leave them for hubbies, so they feel handy.

Havent called the hospital as yet.. Im hoping he gets his bits done today.

While MrP is gone Im having a wee thin down of stuff we never use, but also stuff that isnt "His" and that he wont even miss. Just clutter in the bedroom and spareroom.
Our Town needs a new ambulance and they are $178K to buy and have kitted out. So Im taking stuff to the oppy for them to raise funds.

And while Im out I will do the recycle shop and the other oppy too.. Hopefully not buying too much lol

Right better get my A into G lol

Have a fab day everyone

Good Afternoon
thought I would share a photo of Ash trying to tell me something at the dog park
https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/726282639.jpg
Kiwimade - good decision about your dad wish we could have talked our Mum into moving in with one of us -but the home she is in is brilliant and she is happy so I guess that's that
Hope Mr P is keeping on the improve - I still haven't got rid of all my old boys stuff - its my youngest sons birthday on the weekend and I think I might give him his dads beloved pocket knife he carried around for years -
Hope the cyclone or whatever it is fizzles out before it gets here

gerry64 - 2018-02-08 16:23:00
13173

morning ladies :) aww Ash lol, what a sweetie!

The painter came and looked at the cracked paint on our house yesterday and it was the boards cracking underneath because of the heat we have had. An easy fix but so frustrating as our painter had filled in the cracks and done heaps of prep work before he painted. Popeye, MrP will ask if we painted a dark colour and we didn't, it was a creamy colour. Our painter thinks it's because the house hadn't been painted for years and the boards had settled into their cracks, then we came along and painted over them (after being repaired) and the boards just didn't like it. So MrK has a new project to do once the porch is finished.

Unfortunately Gerry, dad will be moving in with us as his behavior with my sister can no longer be tolerated. He has been playing us one against the other but now we have a united front it will no longer work. It is hoped by living with us, MrK will be able to back me up and Dad will stop being a bully. It will give my sister a break and Dad will stay with her when we have our students. He's not going to be happy about it but it is what it is. We won't put him in a rest home as we want to try this first. So tomorrow we sit down and tell him what is happening. MrK will be there too. Family eh, sometimes you wonder.

I can't paint today thanks to the rain so will do the windows again - damed flies! One more bedroom to spring clean and the house will be sparkly :) Every stick of furniture has been moved and vacuumed behind and all spiders evicted. Yesterday I spring cleaned two bedrooms and painted the porch, no wonder I'm stiff today lol.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone,
Ohh Ash is adorable.. time for some Shade Mum..!!

Ohh Kiwimade I know what you are going through, but sometimes we have to step up and make hard desicions.. Pleased MrK back you up.. Cos without that it puts you in the middle and that is not a nice place to be. will your Dad still do his winter visit to Aussie? that will be a good time for abreak for you both.
Somedays I sit and wonder still, even tho mums been gone almost 7 years, why she chose to play my brother and I against each other.. But its something we will never know.

Yesterday turned to custard, the car decided it it didnt like the key anymore, managed to get it started , I might say after a few other stops, so that I could get it to the garage. They are ordering a new key to see if that works. Could mean we need a new ignition tumbler,, God I hope not, so thankfully a friend is on holiday and she came and rescused me.
She asked would I like a coffee to relax I said 6 Te quilla shots would work better.. didnt have anything tho lol.

I havent told MrP yet, he would only worry himself stupid. He has the picline in so hopefully it wont be long until he comes home. My friend has next week off too so its perfect timing.

Was thinking about baking today, but Ill see how I feel later.

Have a fab day everyone

popeye333 - 2018-02-09 08:49:00

Morning ladies, I don't know where the last few days have gone. I was at the market on Wednesday and sold a few things, but I wouldn't describe the day as being brilliant considering there were 4000 or so passengers on the ship. I am supposed to be there tomorrow as it is a normal "market" day and there is also a ship due in but looking at the forecast and the weather today, I suspect the ship may be a no show. Wouldn't bother me if the market was cancelled but I haven't heard yet that it is.

Popeye when I parked my car for the market on Wednesday morning the fuel gauge was reading a tad under 1/4 tank. When I came home it was showing empty with the red light fully on, not just flashing. I hope that means that it was just stuck and when I fill it up today (didn't go out yesterday) it will read full. The temperature gauge has been playing up intermittently since before Mr K died. Most of the time it works but occasionally it doesn't. I took it to our local auto-electrician and he said he didn't have a clue about these "modern" cars. It's not that modern - something like 2005. He suggested I take it somewhere in Whangarei, then of course it works okay and I forget about it till next time it doesn't work.
Hope there's enough fuel in the tank to get me to the service station to fill up.

Perfect weather for crafting. Plan today is, petrol, groceries and then home to have a tidy up and do some sewing and then this afternoon a haircut.

Hope Mr P is home with you again soon popeye.

Have a happy crafting day everyone.

kuaka, there have been problems in the Auckland area and further north with too much Sulphur in the petrol and this has been affecting the gauges. I wonder if this has been happening to you.

13177

What a morning.. Its gone soo fast.

MrP in a super grumpy, I spoke to his Dr who asked if I could get him to calm down. Which I managed to do.
Have heard from Occ Health.. Someone else arranging about his Iv Ab's.. Hes on a bottle so it only needs to be changed once a day. We have decided to get the district nurse in from the start. That way he will be used to her, before I go in for my opp.
Another one sorting out if we can get extra home help for when Im away.

And heard from the garage, the new key didnt work so they have ordered a new one.
And Missy has just used the bathmat as a toilet so thats been biffed outside too.

What a day

popeye333 - 2018-02-09 12:20:00
13178

Morning everyone.
Grey and dull here today. Not overly hot so thats good.

My plan of action today is to go through the freezers in the garage.. No car to get in the way, and Ill be able to sort them out good and proper.. Probably give myself a shock with how much we have in there, and I hope theres not too many UFO's Unidentified objects lol. Ive been thinking about cooking up the other half of the pigs head too so Ill leave that out when I dig it out.

No craft at the mo.. was worn out mentally yesterday.. But back into action today. Hope MrP is in a better mood this morning.

Keep up all the good craft work everyone

Have a fab day

morning ladies :) I've dug out my iceberg roses this morning as a friend is taking them tomorrow. Got drenched and filthy lol but it's done. Probably a good time to do it anyway with all the rain.

This afternoon we're visiting dad, another long drawn out conversation about him moving in with us. Sadly, he has no choice as my sister can no longer cope with him.

Crafting later if all goes to plan.

happy knitting :)

Morning ladies, another wet miserable day - this is turning out to be a bit of an English summer! I'm over it.

Was up at sparrow fart for the market thinking I would be wasting my time there but I was only half way through my first cup of tea, when the treasurer of the craft group phoned and said "go back to bed - it's cancelled". Can't say I'm sorry, more relieved than anything. Would have got soaked getting everything into the hall and then probably sat all day and sold nothing, can't imagine there are many people daft enough to go out in this unless they absolutely have to.

So might do some dreaded housework and then sew. I'll see if anyone is playing mah jong at the club this afternoon and if not I will sit and put my feet up and knit or crochet.

Happy crafting everyone.

kuaka - 2018-02-10 10:35:00
13181

Good morning wet and miserable here as well - one very unhappy dog for sure
Popeye that's good that the nurses will come into MR P from the get go - I found them a tremendous help not just doing there whatever's but they were just so reassuring that he was ok being at home - I often worried that he might have been more comfortable at the hospice or somewhere
Was just talking to a friend of mine in Taupo whose very active and creative husband was recently diagnosed with altzeimers - she just can't cope and has hit a real stumbling block with her children who think he should stay at home -no doubt she would sympathise with your sister kiwimade but difficult decisions have to be made sometimes - hope your Dad comes around without too much hurt
Have no excuse not to do some crafting today it's certainly cool enough

gerry64 - 2018-02-10 11:15:00
13182

Have had a productive morning..

Sorted the freezers in the garage out, althought I do have to delve back into one, that I thought was only veges to find a missing pigs head. I got what I thought was it, didnt look in the bag lol.. but it was the huge ham bone I got before christmas. So Ill delve into that later.

Picked up nearly a bucket of passionfruit, and some blackberries, beans and 5 more tomatoes. Have frozen the beans already. Will cut the tomatoes up and freeze those, Keeping them seperate from the shop ones.

Spoke to MrP he sounded quite good this morning. Looking forward to coming home. I have a list of things tot ake up cos he went to hospital in his boxers, so need to get some clothes on him lol...

His beard is growing fast, he said its really white now.. And still soft. Normally his beards are quite wiry, so Ill have to find out what they girls are rubbing him down with, a friend said there is an oil that keeps beard soft too. Ohh I wonder how Missy will deal with it ..

Raining constantly now.

popeye333 - 2018-02-10 12:31:00
13183

morning ladies :) It's raining here but I need to clean up the mess I made when I dug the roses out. I 'trimmed' the box hedge as I went and ummm... yeah.. well... MrK has said he will 'fix it' for me lol. So I have all the trimmings to pick up and the lilies that were growing around the roses to sort through and pack away for the winter. Won't bother replanting them until the new roses go in. My friend is picking them up at lunchtime.

We both went to see dad and invited him to live with us and he came up with all the excuses he could think of not too. I had answers for all those excuses until he finally agreed to move in. He had a rip roaring row with my sister in between though, choosing half truths to bolster his arguments. So sad it has come to this but by living with us and the occasional stay with my sister, things may calm down and I suspect he will be a lot happier here if he would just let himself be happy.

Crafting this afternoon, the perfect day for it. I'llbe tuned into Prime to watch the WInter Olympics, we have a finalist in the guys snowboarding. OMG the tricks they do... love it!

Happy knitting :)

Good luck to Mr P, and hope all goes well when your Dad is with you kiwimadey64. My mother lived with us for 2 years - physical health a real problem, but head OK - was running all that time but when she died I knew I'd done the absolute best I could.

Morning everyone

Glad you have it sorted Kiwimade, re your Dad.. He will realise somewhere along the line that it was a good desicion. I know if I had been single, A- I wouldnt have invited mum to live with me and B- I wouldnt have been strong enough to do it on my own. You need back up.

Well I got the brawn made. The head being frozen took about 4 hours to cook. I hope I dont ever have to make anymore lol.. The smell of it arghhh!!

Then was on facebook last night and a guy was giving away plums. I didnt know but a friend had arranged to come in and get some , and some for me. But I commented, rats I didnt have a vehicle.. The guy said dont panic Ill bring you some.. So he arrived with some, and they are beautiful Quite big, dark inside and just the right sweetness. So I stoned and cut them and had them soaking in their sugar over night.. So Plum jam making it is for me today.... At least I dont have to move the car to get at the jars lol.

Welcome xpatch.. Thats the one thing, is when our parent died, we know we did our best.

Right a few things to do before I get to the pot.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning all - drizzly old morning but there are a few patches of blue appearing
Pleased you managed to move forward with your Dad kiwimade - it still saddens me when I go out and see my Mum in a little tiny room when she could be living with one of us - but my sister from up north who now has nothing to do with mum or us really did a good job convincing Mum to go into a home - then a couple of months later all hell broke loose and she hasn't contacted Mum since - not even when she turned 100!
I used to love my Nanas brawn when I was a kid and her tongue but I think I only ever saw it sliced if I had seen it being made no doubt I wouldn't have been so keen - the plums sound like a good score Popeye - do you make plum sauce
No walking today Ash has a sore leg he was playing with a lovely young dog at the park and it bowled him over - he forgets he is old and still joins in the puppy games
Have a bit of a clean up to do in my closet today -went out last night for my sons 44th birthday and I knew I had kept a jacket from when he was a baby -I couldn't actually put it on but draped it over my shoulders - wish it would fit as it is still lovely -did it to lighten the night up a bit - he still struggles at times without his Dad
Well better get into that mess in the bedroom - the cleaner comes tomorrow

The Brawn recipe I use Gerry is from 1865. Its turned out good had a wee nosey before I bottled the jam. The jam is really dark . But Ohh it was nice to use the mouli for the skins.

Its very warm here now and sticky.. oooh a lid just popped. I got 3 large 2 medium and one little jar.

Spoke to MrP. Hes bored, and really over being there.. So Im pleased hes coming home tomorrow, before he starts getting depressed.. Ohh another lid..

Now I can have a wee play on here.. and do my pills trays later

morning ladies and a warm welcome to you xpatch.

MrK and I have been doing a lot of talking about dad moving in and how things will change and how we will manage that. Luckily he has my back.

It bucketed down with rain last night, I stayed up to watch some of the ice skating and it was still raining hard when I went to bed. Just beautiful skating even if there were a few tumbles.

I have a few things to do in town and our power goes off again until lunchtime this morning. A few more cross bars on the power poles need changing on the other farm beside us this time. Will be glad when it is all done and dusted.

MrP comes home today, I bet you are glad about that popeye. I would bet it won't be until the afternoon but we have left early and said send the paperwork out to us rather than wait for it.

Better get moving, the power goes off shortly and I want to do a few things now rather than wait for this afternoon.

happy knitting :)

Morning
I can see blue! So hopefully it gets more and stays today, the garden is well watered for now.

Kiwimade good that you and Mr K have had time to think through about having your Dad live with you so you can support each other, I guess there will be adjustments needed on all sides and hopefully the settling in time will go smoothly.

Oh how we depend on power - we had a sudden power cut out at the factory last week, due to linesmen out on the road, but meant we could do nothing as all machines use power. Fortunately we weren’t part way through a mix so could shut up shop and go home and not wait for power to come on again.

Good Mr P home today., guess he will be happy to get back to own bed.

Having fun playing around with patterns to get variations on kids things I’m knitting to use up excess wool.

Morning Everyone
Sun is just out,be great to have some sunshine as underfoot very wet.Fingers crossed that we don't have more rain that it's all over now.Art Deco starts on Wed so a busy time for everyone and lots of fun as well. Have family coming down and I am looking forward to seeing them. They have a house booked for a week.

Glad to hear you are taking backup with you Popeye when you go to bring Mr P home.Cooking for one is not great. Was looking at My Food Bag for one when I have my next break and Mr has a week in care. In two minds about ordering one at present.

Big changes for you kiwimind and Mr K having your father move in with you. I'm sure it will workout you have Mr K and your sister to call on if need be. Power cuts are pain if you don't get any notice. Growing up in Morrinsville we use to get a lot as we lived on edge of the town.Glad our lines are under ground here in Napier.
Will I better get moving as I have paperwork to do and if I don't get it done I will have people on my back wanting it.

As for crafting, I am weaving on my loom at present. Have a pattern for a shawl and wool out to knit as well.
Enjoy your day ladies and have some fun along the way.

the power stayed on :) I guess they decided to do the work 'live' rather than turn it off. I've been into town and it is really busy! I suppose being summer the tourists are out and about to see Hobbiton. It's not raining but very humid, I think I'll get outside and weed for a bit. All this rain has everything going nuts in the garden. Then I can cross stitch this afternoon. As for dad, we'll see how we go, can only give it our best shot.

morning ladies :) Wow did we have thunder and lightening and heavy rain last night! Which meant the Furry One spent a good portion of the wee hours barking at the thunder. The house feels really damp thanks to the high humidity. Not going to complain though when you see the flooding around Opotiki and in Tonga/Samoa.

Dad phoned yesterday and he sounded a lot happier about moving in. He's going to come and have a proper look at his room and see how things could work for him and wants me to go with him to the bank, WINZ etc. I'll get hold of the disability people and see about hand rails in the bathroom. My sister said they would have paid for the ramp - we have just spent a small fortune on one and the new porch lol. Never mind, am happy we did it ourselves and the timing couldn't have been more perfect.

Going outside to weed in the drizzle, it's a perfect day for that. The weeds pull out easily and it's not hot. All this rain has everything growing like crazy, looking at the garden you would think I haven't weeded for weeks instead of 10 days.

Crafting later while we watch the winter Olympics.

Happy knitting :)

Thanks mndy.. It was at five hospitals, including Auckland where MrP was done. Be interesting to see if we get a letter. And Brother and sister in law were both done in Waikato too

MrK was done in Waikato twice so will be interesting to see if we receive a letter too. He has also had an infection in his valve and almost died.

When did they get theirs done?

Gosh, thank goodness they picked it up. Perhaps they knew what to look for. Otherwise be like looking for a needle in a haystack.

We,ve had a mild plague of crickets here last 2 nights but at least it,s not quite so sticky now.
Me and hubby are going to take a trip to taumaranui on thursday as i won a powerfit machine off here. Took me a few auctions. I,ve heard both good and bad things but thought i,d give it a go.
I,m still often in here reading what you,re all up to but dont get much time to write or dont have the headspace. I havnt been sleeping well lately but dont think its the heat as we have the aircon in the bedroom. Might take out a couple of suspect foods and see if it helps. Have been having a hashbrown each morning which has corn starch or dextrose in so will drop that and see if it,s that. I,m very food sensitive and can tell when my blood sugars arent good.

Only chance i get to write too is on my tablet which just isnt as easy as the laptop.

morning ladies :) Nice to see you posting mndy1 :)

The sun is out, can't believe it. Hopefully the humidity will go too, it was over 90% yesterday. I can cope with the heat, just not the humidity. Will mow the lawn this morning, wet or not it needs doing. This time last year I would be mowing every 10 days or so, now it is still weekly. I still need one more coat of paint on the porch so will try and get that done too over the next day or so. Want to get the porch weather proofed for winter.

It looks like we need a new doggy door flap as the Furry One has kicked a bit of the surround as he jumped through and it has broken. That will need to be done before winter too as it has a lovely hole for the wind to blow through.

Crafting this afternoon all going to plan.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Brother and sister in laws opps were at Waikato Mndy. MrPs in Auckland, but his and his brothers werent open heart, theywere done via the groin. Sister in laws was open tho.

The humidity is shocking, doing simple things breaks you out in a sweat..

Have beans to pick today. Have a pile of washing and dishes, although they are big dishes rather than heaps lol.

Our days are now tied for the next 6 weeks of having to change MrPs bottle at 11-30 every day. So with my friends work hours and MrPs bottle we wont be able to get out of town to our fave fruit shop, unless we got on the weekend and early.

Got our car back last night. Delivered to the door.. And now the ignition is working so is the locking system on the doors lol... MrP always said it had one, but I didnt think so lol.

Right I have a fair bit to do..

Have a fab day everyone
