morning ladies :) I'll keep an eye out for it, popeye, won't be too far away.

I have a few things to do in town today so will get that done while the morning is nice and cool. The Furry One needs more of his medication so will phone in his prescription and pick it up while in town.

MrK had a day off from working on the porch, it just gets so hot in there. I'm hoping by painting it white, the heat will be reflected and the light will bounce around to brighten it up a bit. Certainly taking a bit of getting used to seeing it all lined.

I'll try and do some crafting this afternoon.

Happy knitting :)

Morning ladies, very overcast here at the moment, think we have showers forecast for today and it doesn't seem as hot as it has been. Back to normal this week, am in the op shop this morning. Seems ages since I was there, it was before Christmas as we were closed Christmas Day and New Years day and I couldn't work last week as I picked my friend up from the airport.

Another very quiet day at the market yesterday. I only managed to sell one bag for $25 so $46 for the weekend, less $20 for the stall, never going to get rich at this rate. Have another one Wednesday and Thursday so hoping for better things then.

I hope everyone is well, and is managing to cope with the heat.

Have fun

Morning everyone
It does take a while to get used to changes eh Kiwimade. when they put the porch on out the front it was weird for a while. even tho its clear glass.

The shoppers at your markets must have Deep pockets and short arms Kuaka.

The wrist is still grotty, could use stronger words but I might get banned lol. Ive devised a set of exercises, gentle stretches really, to keep it moving. And resting it in the brace. Missy wont have her pole finished for a while.

I want to start the great neices blanket but I wouldnt even be able to hold the hook..

One has to learn not to do stupid things she now knows she shouldnt.. or at least stop when it starts hurting lol..

So hot last night.. Earlier in the day I put a flannel in a bowl of water in the fridge, so through the night I could wipe my face and arms, then with the fan on it was instantly cooling. Sooo good .

Have a fab day everyone

Morning
Just hung out 2 large washes and the third is nearly finished. Have had visitors for past few days which has been lovely and relaxing and doing a few different things. Its overcast so the weather had better behave itself until the washing is dry of I will be having some not very polite words with it!

Went on a picnic on Saturday to a lovely bush reserve on the Napier Taihape road, we had lunch after a good walk and headed home about 2pm then heard that the area had had a big storm with huge hail and flooding about 3pm we could see the lightening and thunder in the hills but didn't actually get it here.

Next couple of weeks are going to be 'kid' orientated. Sister and BiL are coming home this evening from visiting their daughter's family in Queenstown and bringing 8yr old granddaughter with them then a 11yr old is coming tomorrow. Sister has to go back to work so Ill have the girls during the day. the 8yr old goes home next weekend.
Then I have a 11yr old coming to stay for a few days and a couple of days ago another niece rang and asked if i'd like to have her 10 and 12yr olds for a few days as they have a wedding in Nelson to go to. They are all great kids fortunately and will keep each other company.

Not much knitting over past week but have a couple of small things to pick up so hands don't get idle.

Enjoy your day everyone

Wow Jayemtoo you will be busy... Makes time fly tho..

I have such awesome friend sisters, I managed to buy a freezer off facebook and two friends helped me pick it up and bring it inside and put in place. Soo greatfull to them.

The other freezers are jammed packed and I wouldnt have had any more room for the beans and tomatoes from the garden.

Im pooped now tho lol

Morning everyone
Was soo hot again last night.

The grey clouds are coming in, I hope theres enough rain for the gardens this time.

Was given one of those pet cooling pads yesterday, gosh they make a difference. I have it on the stool and Missy and I both use it. The lady that gave it to me is a yarny lady so I will pop something in her mailbox when Im out next.
Wrist is improving. My little exercises and the brace are working well.

Hope everyone is coping with the heat.

Have a fab day

morning ladies :) Wow jayemtoo, you are going to be busy! Fun though :)

I bought one of those cooling mats for the Furry One last summer but he turned his nose up at it so I gave it to our daughter for our grandson who was just a baby then. Was perfect for him and certainly kept him nice and cool.

The plumber came (finally!) yesterday and fitted a tap to the water tank so we now have water when the power goes off and don't have to plan for buckets of it anymore. Just in time too as we are having another power cut all day today. Am over it and our nieghbour is so over it he has bought a generator. We're thinking of getting one too.

We were at the Kiwi House at Otorohanga yesterday again and the little kakariki were so tame. One threw a piece of fruit at us lol, I'm sure if it could put hands on hips and say 'hey, what about photos of me!' it would have as it posed for photos for around 10 minutes.

Better get moving, the power will be off shortly.

Happy knitting :)

13108

Morning everyone.
The lady that gave me the cooling mat said her boy didnt like the fact that the gel inside moved. I love it,, it works well.
Got some more of missys scratch pole done last night. So much easier with a lighter staplegun. My wrist is achy but not too uncomfortable.

Got up from the floor and promplty felt terribly sick. I think it was the heat more than anything. Thankfully I dont have panda eyes this morning tho. I normally blow little blood vessels when Im being sick.

We got another freezer on Monday, which my Sisters helped me buy picking it up and carrying into the house for me. So I have been freezing bottles of water to imitate it being full.
First time in a long time that Ive been able to make stock (Had a roast chicken on sunday) and then be able to freeze it. So did that yesterday. It has this cute little basket in it that I will put premade and a selection of meats for MrP when I go into hospital. so he doesnt have to search through the others.
And now I dont mind how crazy the beans etc grow lol.

Have a fab day everyone.

13109

morning ladies :) Well the power stayed on as there was a problem with 'switching it over' so I guess we wait for the 1st Feb as that's the next scheduled day to test out our new tap.

Raining here but not cold. Our rain water tank was overflowing in the wee hours and the Furry One had to investigate the noise it made.

I'm hoping your cross stitch arrives today, popeye.

Happy knitting

Morning everyone
Raining here too, you can almost hear the plants sighing with releif.

Wow the post is slow your way too Kiwimade. Im expecting a parcel from Whangarei that was posted Saturday. But we get mail Tuesday Thursday and saturday, so hopefully today.

Another job ticked off the list. I finished Missys scratch pole. Im undecided what to do about the top tho. So have left it bare for now. She loves it so thats good.

Cooked a big pot of rhubarb yesterday so will freeze that later. And made a meatloaf which I will leave some out for MrPs dinner tonight and freeze the rest, so its another choice for when Im away.

I shrunk the dining table yesterday, so after I have put my tools away I will empty the writing desk and get that moved, just across the room but it makes more sence to move it, or my rocking chair would be left sitting in the way.

I realised this morning, Im no where near as sad and depressed as I normally would be in the summer. Its made such a difference. And I actually want to get things done, instead of sitting in a morose state.

Have fun craftwise ladies.. someones gotta do it for those of us who arent lol. Im getting very tempted to start a Topsy Turvey doll for my grand daughter. Im sure she would love it. and I have all year to knit it. Havent knitted for ages.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) Your parcel arrived yesterday afternoon popeye so I was able to make a start last evening :) My eyesight is so bad now I need to use my glasses and the magnifying glass on my day light. Must make an appointment with the optometrist.

MrK's four sisters are coming for lunch today so I had better scoot about and tidy up. Can't get the lawns mowed as it's raining again but won't complain as we need the rain.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone,

Rain lovely Rain. The lawn guys didnt get here yesterday and I doubt they will come today either. but they are great cos they keepnus up to date.

Glad the cross stitch arrived Kiwimade.. I hope you enjoy doing it...My elves did too. They are very cute.

Have to nip up the road for a few groceries and get the lawn money..

Still no craft but it will be there when Im ready.

Enjoy your lunch Kiwimade.

Hope everyone else is well and enjoying the rain

Morning ladies, well I had a stall at the craft market yesterday and Wednesday. There were two ships scheduled for Wednesday and one yesterday and they all cancelled because of the strong winds and rough seas (we had rain too) but despite that and the fact that very few people came through the market I had reasonable sales both days. Only one customer on Wednesday but she bought 3 items, she bought a very cheap one and wandered away, came back and bought a more expensive one, wandered away and then came back and bought one of my most expensive ones so I was quite pleased. Yesterday I sold several pairs of fingerless gloves and a couple of scarves.

Today I'm going shopping in Kerikeri. I don't need a lot but I do need a few things and I also want to pop into the op shop over there, just to see what bargains I can pick up - not that I need anything, I'm trying to declutter - but who can resist a bargain?

Okay, well I had better get going or I'll never get back.

Have a super day everyone.

kuaka - 2018-01-19 10:28:00
13114

morning ladies :) That's good news about your sales kuaka. The weather has been rough - we were at Mt Maunganui the other day and the waves were big much to the surfers delight. The gap between the swimming flags wasn't much at all.

I'm starting to paint the outside of the porch today so all going to plan, it should be finished in a few days. MrK has the windowsill to do and the trim in the inside then I can paint there. And finally we can get the tiles down to finish off completely. Then the whole of the outside will be done and dusted.

I can only paint while the day is cool as there isn't much shade so I can craft in the afternoon.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Awesome new re the sales Kuaka.. Makes it feel worth while doesnt it

Yesterday was a right off. I ended up going up the street twice, and then had to take MrP to the drs in the evening. They think he has an infection, just not sure where. So hes on big antibiotics and will go back on monday.

I crashed last night, too hot for me and I had a short temper , and I didnt need another mess in the toilet either.

I plan on making some small pies today to pop in the freezer for when Im away. The pie maker does four at a time so it wont take long. Then Im thinking of he takes them out of the freezer in the morning and then pops them back into the pie maker to warmer them up it will be simple meals for him..
He says he can sort himself out, but after yesterday I know he cant. Plus Im making enough that when i first get home there wont be much cooking to be done either.

Have a fab day everyone and try and stay cool

Morning everyone
Pleased to report MrP is feeling a little better each day. Suffering with the heat more than he ever has before. The Antibiotics are definetely working.

Still no craft for me, but in my head Im ok with that.

Need to pop up the road for a couple of things. I have passionfruit to pick up and beans to pick and freeze.

Then we have decided to plat catch up on the recorded shows we have.

Have a fab day everyone

13117

morning ladies :) Good to hear MrP is on the mend, popeye.

Primer paint is on the outside of the porch and the first coat of paint on the windows and door frames. It got too hot to do the final coat as there is no shade where I am working so I flagged it for the day. Did get the lawns mowed though, was pleased to finish that, the sweat was just pouring off me.

It's meant to be raining today so no painting for me, might have a cruisey day pottering about.

Have to unpick some of your cross stitch popeye, mucked up the placement of the stitching on the fabric. All good though, won't take long to 'catch up'. A rooky mistake with me not concentrating at the time.

Happy knitting :)

Morning ladies, it was wet, warm and humid yesterday and looks like today will be the same. My lawns are going to be long by the time it dries out enough for me to be able to do them.

I was unexpectedly invited to a birthday party on Saturday - the guy who flatted here briefly phoned me Saturday afternoon and invited me to his birthday party that evening. One of the neighbours (Diana) was going also so we went in her car, another neighbour (Annette) arrived later and we all went home in her car, so yesterday I took Diana back to get her car. Yesterday Annette invited Diana and me to her place for curry so I made a fresh fruit salad and whipped some cream and took along a blueberry Danish (thanks to Sara Lee) and Diana took rice. So we had a very enjoyable evening and I wasn't too late home.

Better get myself ready to go to work.

Pleased to hear Mr P is improving popeye, and I'm sure you will get the cross stitch sorted kiwimade.

Have a super day everyone.

Morning everyone
We have rain here and the wind is finally cooler. Yay.

MIstakes happen Kiwimade, I did a tiger lily cross stitch years ago and totally mucked it up. I binned it lol..

I cant beleive the growth on the lawns and they were only done on Friday.

Have to take MrP back to the drs today. It wont be as hard, now that he is a little stronger. Are antibiotics meant to give you the runs? I guess its one way of chasing the bugs out.

No plans today as such, but I am starting to miss the crochet. so one never knows lol

Good Morning Ladies,Its warm and humid again today plus some rain. Washing out in the shed to dry. Not a lot happen here at present, have a ranged for Mr S to go one day a week to day care.
This means I can have time to catch up on what I want /need to do. Been looking at paint colours as both the outside and inside of the house needs doing.
Yes, Popeye antibiotics can cause the runs. Your Dr can give you something for it. In the meantime make sure he is drinking lots of water.Hope Mr P is feeling better,
Kuaka good to hear you are getting out and about with your friends. Are still walking?
It time for me to make a move and get some jobs done that I put off over the weekend.
Enjoy your day everyone.

yep, antibiotics most definitely can, especially if they are penicillin based.

oohh exciting sunflowers, we had a lot of fun choosing colours, was tricky trying to agree lol but we got there.

Sounds like you have quite the 'social life' kuaka, good on you!

Unpicking done :) MrK has gone into town for a bit so I was able to do it without the smart at** comments lol.

The temperature has dropped quite a bit and the wind is up so I'm guessing the promised storm won't be too far away.

Time for the kettle to go on.

13122

Ahh thank you everyone.. I figured as much, cos I sadi to MrP its flushing out the bugs. Hes on Augmentin.. Not sure how much penicillian in it cos hes allaergic, well he gets a rash.

If I had the choice I would repaint our ceilings. The walls are 1/4 tea but the ceilings are a really dark almost beige colour.

Yep MrP is drinking heaps, its taken a long time to get him drinking a decent amount, and to eat breakfast, but he doesnt both without grumbles now.

popeye333 - 2018-01-22 11:55:00
13123

morning ladies :) I'm off to have my hair cut and coloured - don't know what colour yet so will take the advice of my young hairdresser. Am so pleased I changed salons, should have done it years ago. Then I have a list of things to do.

I see Princess Eugine is engaged, another Royal wedding this year.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Very humid and hot this morning.

I have nothing to strenuos planned.. Will be winding wool, so I can sit with the fan on.

Wow that makes ya feel old when the Princesses are getting engaged lol.. I wonder if they had to wait to announce it until After Harry got married?

MrP is doing well according to the dr. But I did get him some diastop to help slow down the runs some. he normally never has trouble in that department. So is foreign for him. Now he understands why I was always washed out , before I changed to insulin.

Woohoo A New Doo Kiwimade. Mine badly needs a trim.. Oneday lol..

Have a fab day everyone

13125

Morning ladies, well at least it's not raining today and there is a very weak sun, it is partly cloudy and I'm not sure if it will clear or cloud over completely, but there's no point worrying about it, 'cos whatever happens will happen.

Plan to do some sewing this morning, I want to finish the bags I cut out and started last week, so I have some more for the market on Thursday. Then this afternoon hopefully cut out the curtains for my son's spare bedroom. He is supposed to be coming up this weekend and will be wanting to take them home with him.

Other than that, no plans for today. It's still too wet to mow the lawns, so maybe if we have no rain I can do them tomorrow.

New hairdo - exciting kiwimade, I'm waiting for the "raspberry" which I didn't like to wash out of mine so I can try turquoise in it. I really liked the purple I did before Christmas, and will probably go with that long term.

Have a super day everyone.

kuaka - 2018-01-23 09:39:00
13126

morning ladies :) I'm blonde and hair is shorter :P Well, partially blonde. Caramel colours between blonde streaks and I love it. And so does MrK :D Our daughter had blue in her hair but it faded quickly and I found red does the same. Purple is awesome!

Garden for a bit today, I can't paint any further until MrK finds where a leak is in the porch. It also needs to dry out from yesterday's thunderstorm. We think the water was so heavy the gutters couldn't cope and it went back up behind the flashing. So today we need to find out if that is what happened and work out a way to fix it.

Beavering away on the cross stitch, almost back to where I had to unpick.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Glad you love your hair Kiwimade. I used to have mine frosted years ago.
Best do I ever had was a perm and frosting in the same day, which I had always beleived you couldnt do it. but Richard the hair dresser did. And soo gentle on the pulling the hair through the gap to frost it. And it stayed awesome for ages. 4 hours in the chair I struggled to walk for a few minutes lol.

I spent about 4 hours rewinding a ball of warehouse wool yesterday. A 400grm one. What an utter mess. I did cut it about 3 times I think, but only wasted a couple of meters. Thank goodness for for squares and not a jumper.

Have to cut MrPs hair this morning, then Im going to make a start on the squares.

Have a fab day everyone

Good morning all - haven't posted for a while as my crafting has stalled but today my machine is out to sew on name tags on my grandsons school uniform - the tags are none fraying ones so I don't have to fold the ends under but am unsure whether to sew right round the tags or just the ends - especially the socks - I suppose I could go round with a stretch stitch -
Had an absolute disaster yesterday my ipad slid itself off my little outside table and into Ash's little paddling pool - I didn't notice as my music kept playing but as soon as I took it put of the water it had a melt down - feel terrible as my son gave it to me and its a flash one
Went out to the dog park at 7 and it was already hot - so it sure is going to be a hot one today - aircon will be going on

I'm back inside as it's getting pretty hot out there now. MrK made us a cuppa and we sat out in the garden to have it, lovely watching the swallows duck and dive.

Ohh dammm Gerry, I wonder if it would be worth claiming insurance on it.

Better get moving, have dishes to do. I left them so I could weed in the cool of the morning.

morning ladies :) Much cooler and overcast this morning so I'm up early to get a few things done. We are supposed to have high humidity over the next few days, not looking forward to that.

Will finish weeding, usually I can get it all done in a couple of hours but it got so hot yesterday I left the last bit.

MrK decided it was blocked gutters that caused the back flow of rain water so he's cleaned them all out. We're thinking of buying some of those 'cat's whiskers' for the gutters to keep the leaves and maybe the birds nesting out. The trim is still being put on the porch, it gets so hot working there MrK can only do short bursts even with the window open. He found some rimu trim for the window in his stash and we've decided to oil it to show off the lovely timber.

Crafting this afternoon for me.

Happy knitting :)

MOrning everyone,
Ohh Gerry accidents happen, Im sure your son will understand. Hope it can be repaired.
Humid here already, and overcast.

Was going shopping this morning but MrP had a bad hypo late last night and then we were awake at 3am. I got up to see what he was up to and he was sitting on the side of the bed, Said he was cold and was putting a shirt on. Trouble was he had one arm in a sleeve and his head and other arm in the neck.. it did look funny. So it was after 4-30 by the time we got back to sleep.
But again this morning his bsl is 3.3, so no insulin and I have to monitor him closely throughout the day.
We have both finally got our sugars good, only for both of us to have hypos.
Did 4 squares last night. My wrists were aching soo bad, but the crochet soon helped ease that.

Have a fab day all, we have had enough excitement for the next 24 hours at least lol

morning ladies. It's supposed to hit 30 degrees today so the washing is on and other things I do during the day will be done shortly. Will make sure the birds have enough water in the garden too. Our daughter and family are visiting tomorrow so will drag the portable cot out for them too.

Crafting this afternoon, am slowly but surely working my way through the first part of popeye's cross stitch.

Morning everyone.
Very humid here and 25.2 inside and 23.2 outside at present..

Clean forgot about doing my INR yesterday so have a friend coming in to have a yak with MrP while I go do that and pick up a few things at the supermarket.
I have washing I could do but will leave it for a full load.

Just rolled me wrist again, its smarting but not as bad as previous time.. Soo annoyed at myself. One of these days Ill do it good and proper and end up needing it repaired somehow.

Time on my hook today, too hot for anything else.

May get a couple of things and make some pickle tomorrow. See if I can still stuff it up like I used to when I was younger lol.

Have a fab day everyone

popeye333 - 2018-01-26 08:35:00
13136

morning ladies :) It was hot yesterday, don't mind the heat, it's the humidity I hate. MrK has taken over the preserving duties in the kitchen and gets a tad huffy when I make pickle lol. Makes me laugh as I'm the one who taught him and have been preserving all our married life.

Our daughter and her family are staying this weekend so all crafting will be on hold for at least one evening as I don't want needles and scissors around with our little one. We're babysitting both kids while mum and dad go out for the evening.

I saw an email from Spotlight advertising 'Knit for Jacinda', a nice way to raise the profile of charity knitting. It was also on the news last night and the idea has spread overseas too. So our PM has influenece in more ways than one.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone,
Lol Kiwimade at MrK taking over the pickle duty. When we do pickled onions or fruit MrP does the peeling etc. I do the cooking. Its a nice time for us. But I put a blue tarp down and then an old sheet and he sits on the couch and does it. So Well out of my way.

Was sooo very hot last night.. sitting at 25 at the mo. Thankfully the pickle only needs 20 mins cooking, but Ill put a fan in the kitchen while Im doing it.

Have fun with the grandies Kiwimade. Nice that the parents can get out for a night off.

Have to get the car out to get some jars, thats a bit of a nuisnace, but my own fault that i didnt think of it yesterday while the car was out.

Right Ill get done on her so I can get in the kitchen sooner rather than later.

Morning everyone
Another stinking hot day to come.

Not feeling very flash today. Was sick after tea again last night. And feel rather wasted this morning.

The pickle looks good, MrP will try it later. Four jars all popped, and just a small jar that wasnt quite full to be eaten first. I enjoyed making it.

Asked my sister in law who happened to be making some at the same time yesterday, if she had ever frozen the veges and then made it in the winter. She said she has, and that she cuts it all up, then vacc packs it. So I will squirell away some veges for the next lot.

Hope the kids were good for you last night Kiwimade.

Have a fab day everyone

popeye333 - 2018-01-28 09:07:00
13139

morning ladies :) The kids were great and slept well. We're babysitting our grandson for three nights this weekend too.

I've frozen fruit in 'jam lots' before when I've run out of jars but had excess fruit. Made it up over winter and it was fine so I would think you could do the same to tomatoes and other vegies.

A little bit more cross stitch done yesterday, it's going to be hot as heck outside again today so I should be able to do more. Will mow the lawns shortly before it gets too hot then come inside. Too hot to paint, the paint thickens and doesn't spread nicely so that will have to wait for the temperatures to come down a bit.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Glad you had a lovely time with the grandies Kiwimade.

Yep Ive always frozen fruit for jams etc. Just not the pickle.. One of my sister in laws makes her jam and keeps it in the freezer. It doesnt go hard, cos of the sugar. So she just fills her jam dish when she needs too.

I have actually hung washing outside. That seldom happens but its just soo hot. The shade is still there and I have another load on, should be finished soon. Then Ill bring it in when the sun goes down lol.

Sooo hot yesterday. We have decided to have a more substantial lunch and then have a smaller cold dinner. Its just too hot to eat.

Managed to slice my middle finger yesterday on a jar. And smack in the middle of the pad of my middle finger.. Yppu dont know how much you use them till they are damaged lol..

Have a fab day everyone. Keep the water up

morning ladies :) Another hot and sticky day here today but the weather forecast looks like rain shortly.

I have a rose bush to dig out as it died thanks to all the spring rain we had and my bad pruning. Am kicking myself as it was a lovely rose. And MrK has put in a new stake next to the dahlia for me so I need to tie that back so a few smallish things to potter with this morning.

I found some recipes for peanut butter goodies for our birds so will make them now instead of buying the commercial ones. Will be cheaper and I think nicer as I can add fruit and wild bird seed to them too. I was watering the garden (bore water) yesterday and was ticked off by a blackbird as he couldn't get to the food lol.

Thought I would share a pic of our grandson who crashed on the floor Saturday night. He wrapped the throw around himself and as usual the Furry One took it upon himself to do the guard duty.

Will craft later today when it becomes too hot to be outside.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Is going to be another stinker I think, But we finally got a screen MrP had made for the front door, from a friend. We lent it to her to use as a gate on her ranch slider a few houeses ago lol.. So the temp last night was sitting around 30 inside, rathe than the near 40 outside.

Am going to go up the road this morning. I simply cannot stand our water at the mo. Its full of chlorine, and I think its what is making us sick. I noticed on Sunday when we had our showers that it smelt like a swimming pool. So I will buy us some drinking water... Hate the thought of it, but I think our tummys need a break.

A friend got me some tomatoes from our fruit shop yesterday so I have cut them up for soup and frozen them till winter. Will get more on shopping day.

Still no crochet, but Im ok with that.. I will have plenty of time to sit when Im mending.

Love the photo of your Grandie and pooch Kiwimade.. a very good guard dog.

MIssy is talking to a thrush that is having a very vocal bath lol..

Have a fab day everyone

thank you ladies :) It's one of my new favourite photos :)

The morning clouded over so I took the chance and painted the rail on the ramp and the first coat of paint on the door. Finished painting all the window trim so can tick that off the list. So now I'm waiting for MrK to use the no more nails stuff to fill some gaps and to putty some holes. I can do it but he insists he wants to do it himself. Oh well, I can see this is going to take some time!

Adorable photo Kiwimade.
Having a great time with various visitors and not getting much else done but all good fun. Off to Wellington later in week to return a 6 yr old he flew up on his own but they need someone to look after him until school starts next week.
Air NZ certainly has the care of children flying alone well sorted, they can start from 5yrs old and some look so small to be flying around the country but seem to take it all as normal these days.

Morning everyone.
Going to be another warm one I think.. but we have a nice breeze this morning.
MIssy is a happy girl again. She loves to sit in the window and watch the kids go back to school.. Shes now able to sit in the front door and watch. Last year I put a sign up with her name in the window. You can hear the kids calling to her as they walk past now lol

Amazing what little ones are able to do these days isnt it Jayemtoo, re the flying. OI was about 22ish when I flew the first time lol.

Have a massive pile of passionfruit to do this morning. Since MrP is obviously not intrested in doing them. That will probably take care of the morning.

I went and brought water yesterday, not something I like doing, but even filtering it isnt making it taste any better.. Have a shower and you can smell the chlorine in it.

Have a fab day everyone..

morning ladies :) I remember flying solo when I was small and handing out the lollies on the plane. Now the service is amazing (was back then to but even more so today) as the children are tracked and parents text messaged on arrivals and so on.

Our power is off again today so the linesmen can finish replacing the cross bars on the power poles. Wouldn't mind so much if it was a fine day but it is so overcast and windy.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Kids do soo much that we never dared back in the day. But then I also think it was safer back then. but its good they are treated well and taken care of.
Going up for my B12 this morning then shopping out of town later. MIght go to the New World this time, cos they actually have some decent specials today. Most important is the fruit shop. Might get some apricots for jam too.
Annoying when you have the chance to sit and craft and they go turn the power off eh Kiwimade. At least you will be able to get water today..

Right better get a few things done, and Harness my hair before I go out. It will fly everytwhere today.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning ladies, I've been awol for a few days, been busy at the craft market (well I'm busy getting ready for it and getting there, but not very busy once I am there - sold a few things each day but nothing outstanding!) and of course I've been trying to get lawns mowed and seeing as my "downstairs" mower has packed a sad, I've been lugging the mower up and down the steps - not much fun - and the humidity is killing me.

I am finally making progress on the curtains for my son's spare bedroom and plan to do finish the second pair this morning and then I just have to do the detachable linings which I will do on Saturday. He is supposed to be coming up for the weekend taking Monday off and having a 4 day weekend. I'm at the craft market again tomorrow and Monday, so no op shop for me Monday - I think I've only done two shifts since before Christmas.

Not a lot of news here - wish we would have a decent thunderstorm to clear this wretched humidity.

I had better do the dishes and then carry on with the curtains or I'll never get them done.

Have a super day everyone.

Our power stayed on, the linesmen only turned the power off on the farm behind us. They are replacing the cross bars on the power lines and I sure as heck am glad it's not me doing it! It's so windy here! And yes popeye lol, at least we have water now if the power goes off so doesn't bother us at all.

I've finished painting the back door and very happy with it. I need to sand a bit of the frame where the paint smudged the white so will do that when the door is dry and repaint the white. Thought I had done pretty well until I saw that bit where a wayward paint bristle touched the frame. No biggie to fix. I'm doing things a bit mixed up and not in the usual 'order' as I'm working around MrK.

Sounds like you have been busy kuaka, we want a decent thunderstorm too as the humidity is just nuts. The other day we had 86% humidity, today it's 83%.
