morning ladies :) Another overcast day here. We're loving it as it gives our new plants a good start.

Housework for me today then I'm going into town to buy a button for MrK's trousers and some pink ribbon for the ballet cardy. Murphy's Law I didn't have the button lol. We have a haberdashery shop of sorts here where you can buy individual buttons. Better buy a few lol.

Happy knitting :)

Morning Ladies. Very grey and overcast looking out side today. Will we get rain? Not sure.
Housework for me ,then some sewing and baking. My oven is playing up so need to try some baking first before I make my second Christmas Cake.If not will have to get someone to look at the top element. The part that holds it up has broken off. Also will have to give it a good clean first.
Finished the baby blanket and gave it to a very proud daddy over the w/end.
Have a simple Summer Shawl pattern that will go on needles today,if all goes well.
Good Luck with your game this evening Kuaku.
Take Care
Happy Crafting

Morning everyone
A warm start here, still cloudy tho.. could use the rain.

I have 7 pumpkin seedlings yay lol.. Scarlet runners are sending their leaves up the fence.

Ohh Kiwimade aint that the silly thing. Can have heaps of buttons but not the one you need.

Ive got 2 rows fully joined and one to add to it today. Then back to joining the rows.

But I have washing to do as well. So I can work between rows.

I think I should have it done in a week, although I have to be out 3 times this week.

Have a fab day everyone.

morning ladies :) I'm going to check on dad this morning, he sounded a bit down on the phone yesterday. Then groceries and if home early, will wash the outside of the house down. We've had nesting birds in the roof and the softy side of us waited until the babies had gone before we blocked their nesting site. But they have made a lovely mess of the paint. So if not today, then tomorrow.

I have one sleeve to go on the cardy, can't wait to finish it. I really don't like plain knitting lol. I have the pink ribbon for when I sew the cardy and then it can be gift wrapped for Christmas. I'll have time to knit our grandson something for Christmas too.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone,
Very humid here today.. I wish it would rain and get it over and done with.

I have a 3 panel piece joined and three more rows joined, which Ill join up and get joined to the first piece today. I really want it in the post next week.

IM thinking of having a break but I cant see it happening lol.. Cos its my hardest time of the year and I will need a distraction. Maybe Ill do a baby blanket in one piece before I go back to squares. I have some pretty wool long forgotten I could use.

I will say Im enjoying having the ranch slider open now the wind has gone, the birds antics are lovely and they come soo close I hear them.

Hope your Dad picks up Kiwimade.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning ladies, just!

A very slow day at the market yesterday, sold a total of one $8 item, but my friend sold nothing. Their were quite a few people but they were looking, not buying.

We didn't do so well in the snooker last night, we won the first frame but lost the next two so that's it for this year as far as I go. I will have to make a concerted effort to practise more and try to improve for next years tournaments.

Very overcast and we have had quite a heavy shower a while ago. I hope it isn't raining at 5pm because I'm supposed to be going for a walk.

Mah jong this afternoon, so I had better finish my coffee, have my lunch and get ready.

Hope to get some knitting done tonight.

Have a super afternoon everyone.

Morning
Not sure where the days are going at the moment!!
Hope your Dad is better again Kiwimade. Pity about the markets Kuaka hopefully next one will be more profitable, mind you I’ve heard similar about the cruise ships they don’t actually buy much when they come ashore except for the sight seeing type of things.

Had visitors lately which great to catch up and enjoy sitting chatting so got a couple of little jerseys finished. Now need to get rest of garden done and start some Christmas Cake baking.

Enjoy your day

Morning everyone
Another grey day and still no rain.. I dont think its as hot this morning tho.

I have half the blanket done now, which is good.

I feel like Im heading downhill already. Which is not good and I hate it. Ive warned MrP I may be emotional or grumpy today.

Have to take him to the drs this morning for his 6 month check up.

Cooked a piece of hogget in the electric frying pan yesterday and it was even better than doing it in the crockpot. I was worried it would be tough. But it was beautiful.

Hope your dad is a bit brighter today Kiwimade..

Sounds like the tourists have deep pockets and short arms Kuaka..

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) I was up early this morning and have washed the outside of the house. The commercial growers have finished their plowing and planting so I could finally wash their drift off.

Dad was a bit brighter but omg the bruising he has! He's seeing his doctor about it Friday.

Not good about the tourists kuaka, I think they spend a lot on the ships and just do the touristy things on shore.

I hope your day brightens popeye.

Happy knitting :)

Good Morning Ladies, overcast here at present.
Our lawns are will over due for a cut, fingers crossed our lawnmower guy comes today.
Did you get your FB page sorted out Popeye?
Have just put all my wool, needles etc away for the time been. Undid my last couple items..Have a few sewing projects I would like to get on with in the meantime. One is curtains that I keep putting off.

It looks like Mr S will not be having his op before Christmas. Had a phone call from the Hosp Phyiso Dept yesterday . They have been asked to see him and his appointment is not till 15th Dec.
My Phyiso suggested I call the Big White Taxi with the Red Cherry on top of it's roof next time he has a fall or needs help to get out of bed.Yes, he is holding me togther at present with my couple of visits a week.

Time to move as I have a couple of jobs to do first and then it's off to the s/.market.
Have a great day everyone and Do something for yourself.

Popeye..is it always painful when you get shingles? And do you get cold sores with it too and tired? I think I may have it. I have a few patches of spots but they havn't blistered or anything and aren't itchy and there's no pain. Might go to drs tomorrow.

mndy1 - 2017-11-29 10:49:00
12962

Mndy mine were incredibly itchy and extrememly painful. cos it involved my lungs.
I put it this way... I would rather have open heart surgery again than have shingles a second time.

Do get into the drs and have it checked. Cos the faster you get treatment the better it is.

Our chemist told me If I had been his wife he would have taken me home. put me on the couch and only allowed off the the toilet and shower. Complete rest. And you heal faster.

Have been to the dr for MrP, she has increased his parkinsons meds as his shaking is getting alot worse.. And said she thinks you can get aids to help with eating etc through Occupational health, so she flicked off an email while we were there.. I was looking online and spoons were $25ish each.

I am feeling a bit brither than I was this morning... I have an extra 10 mg of my anti depressant I can take if I need to. Earlier I would have happily taken it, now I dont feel I need it today.

The humidity has dropped too which helps

popeye333 - 2017-11-29 12:31:00
12963

morning ladies :) Not good about mrS' op, Sunflowers. So frustrating for him and you.

I'm glad you got to have a quick word with your doc, popeye. Hopefully things will start to improve for you.

I have the ballet cardy all blocked ready for sewing together. Normally I wouldn't bother blocking knitting for the kids but as there is no ribbing, the stocking stich curls up. And I've dug out a pattern to start a jumper for grandson. It shouldn't take long to knit.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone,
Ohh Sunflowers delays are horrible arent they. Hope it gets done soon.

Cant wait to see the cardy Kiwimade..

Yep Im feeling ok this morning. Its nice and grey but not hugely hot... And Im glad the clinic appointment is this morning and not in the afternoon.

Kiwimade Your dad is on warfarin isnt he? or was it perhaps Clexane shots that have bruised him soo badly? I know when I had them i could watch my bruises grow over the day.. They were massive..

Have done another two rows. But I wont get back to them until tonight and it will depend how tired I am.

Have a fab day everyone

popeye333 - 2017-11-30 07:51:00

It was clexane popeye. MrK has had clexane and nothing like this bruising. It goes up to his chest, around his tummy to his back, passed his kidneys to his spine! It's massive.

OMG Kiwimade thats bad.. Mine was bigger than my hand and growing. I thought that was bad enough.. What does the dr say?

Happy Birthday Miss Sunshine.. Hope you have had an awesome day

12967

morning ladies :) Happy birthday for yesterday MrsS :)

Dad goes to the doc this morning, popeye. He couldn't get in any earlier. I've made him promise to phone me when he gets home. Am not happy about it at all.

Lawns to mow this morning before it either rains again or becomes too hot. Not that there has been much growing lately but they still need a tidy up.

Tomorrow is MrK's sister's birthday so we are having a family get together and then Sunday we are having another get together with my family as it would have been Mum's birthday. I'm glad now my roses were so late in blooming as I never have any from the garden to take to the cemetery but this year I can take a big bunch. Mum loved flowers and I think she would approve.

I need to buy more ribbon for the cardy, just wasn't quite enough. And I need to buy jelly lol seeing as our daughter and her family will be staying. Our granddaughter and her poppa love it lol and I have no doubt our grandson will also love it.

I started a cable jumper for our grandson last night. Amazing how much more enjoyable this pattern is. The stitch is over 32 rows so something to keep me on my toes.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone.

Please let us know what happened re yoyur Dad kiwimade. Ill be on clexane when I have my surgery..
MrP loves jelly too.. lol.

Will be soo nice to take your Mum some flowers too..

For those who may not have seen it on FB yesterday.. I went to the clinic to see about having my hernie "Charlie" repaired.. I jokingly said to the Surgeron, you can slip and take the whole spare tyre off if you like. he said thats exactly what they will have to do, cos the weight of it could pull anything they did apart. Also told me its a blue hernia which means veins are caught.
So after many many years of having a spare tyre its all coming off .. 4 hour op and 4-5 day stay.. And normall scars upset me but Ill be soo happy to wear what ever it turns out to be like. My life will change.

Took my crochet , I started a wee baby blanket before we left. And di just about a full row only to discover I had somehow mucked up a stitch before we left so I pulled it undone and started again last night.

Back to the other blanket today tho. The new one can stay in the "Appointment" bag.

Went to our Chemists VIP day this morning. Came home with alovely goodie bag with potions and lotions and a lovely litte makeup purse etc. As a freebee.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) Dad's doctor wasn't too concerned about the bruising popeye. I'm still pretty angry about it though. Sounds like next year will be 'your' year with your surgery. Huge changes for you! It was awesome news.

Busy family weekend this weekend with both MrK and my families. I'd better get a move on and make the salad and start putting a few things away (from little hands later today).

happy knitting :)

Morning everyone

Yeah I fully understand you being angry about it Kiwimade.. The dr that saw my bruising just laughed and said I was silly to be worried about it.. Was also the same D***head that was treating me for a sore arm when it was my heart.

Have fun with your family gatherings..One of my friends is having a family get together today too.

MrP wants to go do the oppies today so Ill go along with that.. My 4rth day in a row out tho...

By the end of the day I will have 3/4rs of the blanket joined.. So Ill be posting it next week.

Yes things are going to be soo much better for me next year... I almost feel like its a reward for all the rubbish I went through with mum.

Have a fab day everyone..

Our grandson is now up and walking, we have to make sure precious things are up again. We're going out for lunch today with my family so looking forward to that.

No knitting last night, was too busy having cuddles.

Happy knitting :)

Good Morning Everyone. Sunny day again here. Spend most of the day either in gardens or washing down kitchen walls.

Popeye now stop worrying everything will work out for you in the New Year. As your friends have said they there for you. Also you may just have to talk to Mr P about going into care for a few weeks so you can heal and take care of your self.
Hope your dad is starting to feel better Kiwimade.
Walked over to Church Fair yesterday and came home with a new man's summer dressing grown for Mr S ( $ 4.00) and a couple of craft mags.
Mr S had a fall on the carpet in the bedroom yesterday morning was very slow going for him for the rest of the day. I need to cut his hair sometime today.
Need to spend sometime on my Christmas swap today.Did some knitting last night for one of the 12 days of Christmas .

Have a great day everyone.

Morning everyone
Enjoy the cuddles Kiwimade... far more important than knitting etc.

We have just adopted a nearly 3 year old granddaughter. On Dec 17th.. She doesnt have any grandparents so was asked if we would like the job.. Yay.

Sunflowers Im not worried.. Im excited, but like to hear of other peoples experiences. Im feeling better healtwise than I ahve done in years so thats going to make mending alot better.

I dont waste my worry, I dont worry over anything I have no control over.. I save my worry for something worthwhile to worry over lol.

Putting MrP into care is an idea but to be honest I would worry lol.. so its better that he is here. And my sister friends whill watch him, do his insulin and heat his meals etc for him.. And Missy still has to be looked after too.

Have to make some jam this morning, freeze the asparagus, freeze some hogget in gravy.

Im 3/4rs through the blanket Yay..

And we will plant the pumpkins into the garden today... Im enjoying growing veges again.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) We had an awesome weekend with family on both sides. Was very busy with our grandies, they certainly keep us on our toes. Our daughter and her family left the first family doo on Saturday earlier than us so had the house opened and aired by the time we got home. Our granddaughter wanted to water Nana's garden lol as 'that's what Nana does mummy'. I know she only wanted to do it as she gets to play under the hose for a bit when we have finished lol. No water restrictions here yet.

Housework today, all the beds need stripping as our granddaughter managed to sleep in two beds over one night. When her poppa asked her why, she said 'I only slept on one side of the bed though, poppa'. Never mind, washing won't take long to dry today.

I need to squeeze in some knitting if I am to finish this jumper. There is a pretty good chance I'll be in Christchurch before Christmas for a funeral so had better get cracking and organised.

Happy knitting :)

Morning ladies, it is looking like a beautiful morning. Yesterday I went to a Christmas craft market in Kerikeri. I had to be there by 7am to set up and of course woke at 3am and couldn't get back to sleep, was just drifting off to sleep when the alarm shattered the peace. Anyway it was worth going for, I had the best day I've had for a while. Then went to the Warehouse and bought a few things. Went to Noel Leeming to buy myself a new bluetooth speaker as the cheap one Paul left me (cost a just a few dollars in Bangkok) died when I knocked it off the sideboard. Course they didn't have the one I wanted in stock so I will order it online.

Then I stripped my bed, did the washing and then when it had cooled down a bit, mowed the little lawn beside the veg garden and watered the garden. Was knackered and had an early night. Didn't do any knitting last night but I did do some at the market.

Op shop this morning, then I might try to do some gardening or more lawns if it's not too hot, and then the club this evening for snooker.

Have a super day everyone.

Popeye - I don't worry at all. I read somewhere that it is almost impossible to worry about something that is "happening right at this moment" because right at this moment, you're busy dealing with whatever it is. So you are usually worrying about something that has already happened, and you can't do anything about it, or something which hasn't happened yet, and might not happen, and you still can't do anything about it.

kuaka - 2017-12-04 08:05:00

Morning everyone

Exactly Kuaka.. I dont worry about anything I dont have any control over.. Im always telling my friends not to waste their worry.. I have one that worries about what Might have happened.. such a waste of time.

Im looking forward to having a holiday in hospital, Not many places where you are waited on hand and foot.. and then the new me afterwards, and the changes it will make.

Saw some of your photos Kiwimade, looks like everyone had fun. Hope no one got sunburnt.

I got jam done, asparagus frozen, rows joined , pumpkins planted out etc yesterday. A very productive day.

This morning I got up to put the rubbish out and once Missy re settled on me I went back into a deep sleep. very unususal for me.

Will join the rows today and I should be finished tonight or tomorrow morning. Yay..

We have fruit on the raspberries YAYAYAY lol

Have a fab day everyone

popeye333 - 2017-12-04 09:44:00

housework is done, four loads of washing done and brought in nice and dry. Now I have to fight with the portacot so it can be put away. Might just leave that until the day cools down a bit.

No one was sunburnt yesterday. popeye. Sunscreen was a must and so were hats. On our way home we bought a big chip of strawberries, omg, they are huge! And I bought some for jam so will get onto that early tomorrow morning when the morning is cool.

Now for some lunch - Vogels bread is on special today to celebrate Vogel's birthday, buy one for the regular price and buy your second loaf for the 1967 price of 28 cents (the equivalent of the pounds, shillings and pence at the time). I had to pick up the Furry One's epilepsy meds in town anyway so grabbed a couple of loaves.

Soo pleased everyone was sensible Kiwimade.. I would say Maddies generation will use suncreen automatically rather than an after thought like some do now.
I saw that Vogels was cheaper today.. I assume they had a limit?

One joining row done. two to go. so Im on shcedual..

morning ladies :) Yes, it's an automatic thing now for Maddy, sunblock and hat.

It's getting too hot to knit during the day, and even last evening I struggled with knitting. Must keep at it lol, not long until Christmas and this wee jumper is a Christmas pressie.

Better get moving, I have things I need to get done before the day becomes too hot.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone

I agree Kiwimade, it is getting too hot for knitting, crochet etc.

Finished the big blanket yesterday will post pictures when the owner has it.. Im dissapointed that it doesnt seem to take a good photo.. And of course I forgot to hang it outside to take a pic. Its all packed up ready to go on thursday.
Im going to start undressing the lounge today for the Christmas decorations.. I cant wait to see Izzies face when she sees it later in the week.. We will see her today.
Her mum is picking up some butter for us in Pukekohe $5 a block.. I never thought Id say its cheap at $5.. And she brings us bread rolls on a Tuesday too..
She smoked from Fish for MrP yesterday, he doesnt know hes getting it.. He will love it, she does it with brown sugar the same way MrP used to do his.. So thats his tea sorted.. I might have toast , then no cooking in the hot kitchen lol.

Have a fab day everyoone

Good Morning Ladies, another roasting hot day again here.
Spend most of yesterday finishing off cleaning and painting our kitchen. Have new units coming in next week. The plumber due this week to replace the hotwater tank. As we have not got gas down our street we had to choose gas bottles or stay with with power which we are.

As for the water problems we are having at present it's the council that the problem. We have a Mayor who should have stood down. He is giving thousands of litres away daily free to an oversea to water bottling plant. Why? So they would build the water plant in Napier.
The sport grounds all have hoses going 24/7. They gave our CEO a new 5 year contact and a pay rise of 300,000 a year. They then tell everyone evverything OK.

I will hand water my veggie garden and when I do a wash I will save the water for my flower ganden. We eat daily from our veggie garden.

Yesterday was not a good day in our house.News came that Mr S is not down for his op till after the New Year and everyone had their holidays. So when he has another fall I will ring for the green and yellow taxi with it's red ball on it's roof.
Off to knit and natter this morning. Going to knit a Christmas Tree for a part of a swap.Come home, change and go off to my gym class.
That my day..

The kids are very aware these days that they put their hats and sunblock on when out and about . Heard them tell adults off these days. LOL
Hope everyone has a great day.

phew, that's the ironing done, did it in front of the back door lol. I should make MrK iron his own shirts!

I saw on the news about your water, sunflowers, and how it is being chlorinated now. Some people are just plain greedy and forget why they are in public office. There's also that National MP Todd Barclay who is on full pay doing nothing. Really cheeses me off. We have Wilcox's near us and they have their massive irrigation sprinklers, can't complain though as they grow our spuds. And we eat from our vegie garden too so will water it as needed. We're not on town water though and have a bore 25 meters down. MrK is of the mindset that when the council reimburses us the $3000 we paid for bore repairs, he will consider water restrictions. Not that the council will as it's our bore but try and tell him that!

Anyhoo, time for an early cuppa I think.

12983

Im not sure if we are on water restrictions yet, but the fire Bans are on already.
Hopefully the time will whizz by for you Sunflowers... MrP has the patience of a Gnat and hates waiting for hospitals. Me I have truck loads and happy to wait till things happen. Im not the only one on their books.

Have put all the smaller ornaments etc away from the lounge / dining room. Will get the tree etc out tomorrow.

Try to do as little as possible with the increase in temp everyone

morning ladies :) Another hot day is expected here so I'm getting outside to weed before it gets too hot. I'll follow the shade around the garden. There isn't much weeding to do but I need to keep on top of the convolvulus. You will probably think I'm mad, but I have laminated some photos of the roses I want and have stapled them to the fence where I plan to plant them lol. MrK quite likes the idea as we are both visual people and it helps us 'see' what is planned for that spot.

I'm still knitting the back to the jumper, only have 3 inches to go. It's an American pattern so in imperial measurements. I'm hoping to get at least the back done today.

happy knitting :)

Morning
Another hot day here too. It is so lovely early am and evenings though. Just been out putting netting over the blue berries they aren’t ripe yet but trying to get ahead of the birds.
Good idea re the photos Kiwimade, I tend to plunk things where there is a gap and thenhave to shift them later!
Using up part balls of leftover wool on a 20 stitch blanket not quite as tedious as just 10 stitches - it’s a rather ‘mindless’ thing to do but I can read while doing it and no sewing up.

Morning everyone,
A warm start here but the lunge and kitchen are in the cooler end of the house in the mornings.. Afternoon evening is hell really.

Excellent idea re the photos Kiwmade..

I have to resort the freezer this morning. I have meat arriving later... thats a mission and a half lol... Then doing the rest of the christmas stuff and tree.
Its soo neat knowing that Ill be able to share it with Izzy. Ill get her mum to hang the birdcage up later, Im not going to risk standing on a chair.

OMG the clinic just rung, I have an appointment for the aneathetist on 19th of this month.. Its happening fast yay..

Have a fab day everyone and stay Hydrated..

Morning everyone.
A hot start to the day.. And early one for me too.

Been up and done my blood, got the cold foods, including corned beef.. At new Wworld for $4-99 a kilo only today.
Posted cards and blanket, got gas and took some bread to a friends..

Now I will cool and rest my stupid knee that decided to complain today, before I pick up a friend to go shopping in Papakura..

Lawns will be done this morning, not as much growth this week.

No time or enegry for crochet. I was sooo tired and hot last night I actually felt sick.

Hope everyone has a fab day and stay hydrated

morning ladies :) I'm up early as I want to whizz round the lawn with the mower, not much growth here either popeye, it just needs a tidy up. Hopefully it will only be a few catcher loads so I don't need to stop as often.

I finished the front of the jumper last evening, was on a roll and the evening was cool enough to knit. Am very pleased with it so far.

Time for antihistamine stuff and coffee then outside I go.

Happy knitting :)

Managed a few rows of the blanket last night while the computer took an hour and a half to update.

Have to cut mrp's hair this morning and clean the vacc out., shes full lol..

Have a fab day everyone.

And Ill try to not get drunk on water today, I felt drunk as a skunk last night wobbling all over the place, and id only been drinking water lol

It was very hot and humid yesterday but I think we have rain coming for the weekend, so I might have to plant my little seedlings when I come home from the market.

Had a message from Paul (can't remember if I already told you this or not - and can't be bothered to look back through my posts - so forgive me if I've already told you). He messaged a while back and said he was hoping to be here for Christmas but now he says he can't make it. Shame, but my son is supposed to be coming and bringing his flatmate with him. I've met him a couple of times and he's okay, and my flatmate is supposed to be moving out next week and going to live with his girlfriend, so it should work out well, because if my flatmate wasn't moving out and Paul was coming I'd be short of beds and bedrooms, someone would have to sleep on the couch or the floor. Course I sold my bedsette a week before the flatmate moved in.

I won't really miss the flatmate, he's been okay, but I won't be looking to replace him, I think I prefer being on my own really.

Anyway I'd better get on and shorten some trousers for a friend, he phoned on Tuesday to see how I was getting on (he said there was no hurry when he brought them to me - that's usually fatal with me) and on Tuesday I said I would do them Tuesday night but of course I didn't.

I've also got a puzzle ball order from the lady whose husband runs the market, and I did most of the wedges yesterday so I'm hoping to finish it today or tomorrow.

So, I'd better crack on.

Popeye, sounds like you might have been water-logged yesterday !

Have a super day everyone.

morning ladies :) I can understand you wanting your own space kuaka, I thik I would too.

Popeye, you must have had wayyyy too much water lol.

Yesterday I began building a new garden in a corner we have been putting off for years. The previous owner had tried to build a fish pond and had placed concrete fill around it and filled in a massive area with the rest of it. So I'm working from the corner out. Have pruned a massive shrub and moved some of the fill so I can begin the garden. I have a few more pieces to move, I roll it or put it on the sack barrow to move but still damed heavy. Then I'll build the edging and put in new soil and plant. A friend has a digger and is coming next week to price how much it cost me for him to dig up the rest of the fill, take a tree stump out and prepare the rest of the area for lawn. In the meantime, I have a ton of work to do out there. We've been talking about what to do for this area for years and it has always been put in the too hard basket. MrK will build me a seat out of an old fence post that had been dumped in that corner too so it should look good when done.

I was stiff and sore when I sat down to knit but I managed to start a sleeve and have done the neck band of the jersy. At the rate I'm going, it will be finished for Christmas :)

Happy knitting :)

You are doing heaps in your garden Kiwimade, its all going to look beautiful when done.. unless you come up with more ideas lol.

We have flowers on the scarlet runners and tomatoes, the pumpkins are slowly growing.

I have the jam on already, just on very low while Im on here.

Possibly going out later, I told mrP about the kingfisher garden ornament in the warehouse, its truely beautiful so we may pop over and get one, after Ive done the Jam.

Didnt do any crochet yesterday, but Im ok with that. I dont have any dates to have it finished by so its just a relaxed tiime on the hook.

morning ladies :) Am up and about early as we are having our fourth power cut in two weeks. Two were for birds nesting in the grid, the third was the guy hitting the power pole and this one is for scheduled maintenance. So we're going to the beach, at least we will be able to cool off there.

Happy knitting :)

Before the power goes off, here's a rose to brighten your day. It's Blueberry Hill, my newest addition.

Morning everyone

Tis beautiful Kiwimade..
Thats alot of power cuts, Id be doing the same, leaving home lol.

Have to throw the jam back in the pot this morning, after Ive cut MrP's Hair... Its just a little thin for my liking. Probably only take 10 more mins boiling, but it will be worth it.

Ducked over to Pukekohe yesterday and got one of the beautifull kingfishers they have. Ive loved kingfishers since I was a kid.

Had a low insulin attack last night.. First time, although It makes me wonder if thats what I had the other night.. I was sweating, heart racing, wobbly, was cooking tea at the time and I lent on the bench by where the jam was. So I grabbed a spoon and had a couple of dessert spoons of jam from the little bowl that didnt go in a jar. And then by the time Id finished tea I was feeling alot better.
So I think I will add something for afternoon tea, so that when Ive done my insulin before tea it doesnt make me go too low.
Was a little scary to be honest, but I think I should be able to prevent it happening again.

OMG when did decent batteries get so expensive??? Got some decent ones yesterday $28 for 18 batteries lol.

Have a fun day everyone..

Morning ladies, looks like being another warm day, op shop this morning so had better get organised.

Tomorrow I have our end of your lunch/then play mah jong, and in the evening we are having a farewell "drinks and nibbles" for my flatmate who is moving out while I will be away. I told him if there's anything missing when I get back I know where he lives and will be paying him a visit. I also told one of the neighbours to leave the glitter at home! She came back with "but I still have some" and I told her to use it on her carpet.

Useless day at the market yesterday, nobody had a good day, there were lots of lookers but the buyers were thin on the ground. I didn't sell anything, but knitted a scarf. Will knit another pukeko (or maybe two) next market isn't until 19th.

Have a super day everyone.

Morning everyone
A beautiful day out there 9 Yep my S.A.D) hasnt hit yet... Gonna be a hot one tho.
Shame about the markets Kuaka, paying out to hold a stall and not having any sales could get rather expensive.

I dont have anything too much planned for this week.. But I will be writing some recipes down from the net, so I can make a few lollies etc and truffles.
Did a few rows on the blanket last night.. its a pleasure not having any pressure to get it done.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) I'm a bit late this morning but the builder arrived to help MrK build the ramp. The old steep steps are gone, thank goodness. The bottom step had always been missing and even I had problems getting up and down them, especially when carrying groceries and other bags. So lots happening here at the moment, MrK is also in full swing building another raised vegie garden and then there is my messy corner I'm trying to sort and rebuild. But it is so good to be busy and creating new things, even if it isn't knitting.

In saying that, I have finished the first sleeve and have started the second.

Happy knitting :)

morning ladies :) The ramp was finished by afternoon tea time, just stoked to have it done. I suggested we put in a ramp years ago but MrK said, no, we don't need one. The builder does our weatherboarding for us and suggests a ramp and suddenly it's a great idea. Men! Still, it makes a huge difference to the entrance and another step closer to 'future proofing' the house for MrK. Next big thing is the bathroom and we are saving for that.

Managed to do a bit of knitting last evening but it was so hot. Getting there though.

Happy knitting :)
