1259 | fredrika Inventory of Bill Leggett's album that was stolen rebel58 - 2009-04-11 22:15:00 |
1260 | The value quoted in the news was $80.000, I would have expected a few more FFQs for that amount, don't forget he is Bill the Dealer as well as a collector, and the values he would have listed would have most likely been book or catelogue value, Market or Retail values are inconsistantly different. I'm sorry for bill to c this stock dissapear, unfornuatly there are ratbags around, John Varney once had a large book of Flight covers swiped off a dealers stand table at a stamp Fair at Rotorua, he never got over it, and eventually got out of the trade. harrihorse - 2009-04-12 10:30:00 |

1262 | I'm a bit like you Melissa, I have one which is borderline, a smudgy 1918 pmark and large Multi wmk. but most of the image in visible from looking at the back. , but I don't have access to a violet ultralamp, If you have just come through lookin at 5000, you must have come across quite a few shades, watch out for any postmarked between 1917 -1919. harrihorse - 2009-04-12 19:13:00 |

1266 | 1264 cont. UHM are the best but are priced accordingly. If you are wanting to add to a collection it is best to collect stamps of the same type and condition if possible. If they are used stamps then keep with those. Used stamps have their only classification. Others may have a slightly different interpretation but I hope that this is helpful. stak - 2009-04-14 11:11:00 |

1268 | 1267 I think the best thing for you would be to get a good quality stockbook. (German not Chinese). Then you can easily slide the stamps into the strips and your stamps will be protected and easily viewed. Make sure you get a stockbook with plenty of room for expansion. There are usually some good ones for sale on here or from a stamp shop. Don't put hinges on your UHM stamps. I ruined a few this way when I started collecting as a child. stak - 2009-04-14 15:51:00 |

1282 | Otago Centennial According to Jones' FDC catalogue, the stamps were issued on 23/02/1948 but the actual date of the anniversary was 23/03/1948. phil.s - 2009-04-25 13:30:00 |

1286 | some good names of books, so i have now come to the end of a year long journey sorting out my fathers and granfathers stamp collection haha and acquiring a new found taste for these fantastic works of art myself. i now find myself needing help on gaining more info on the different aspects of what makes a stamp special, ie, water marks/ paper printed on/ misprints/ and anything else that ive not mentioned. if any1 could offer any help on this that would be great. cheers. tarin1 - 2009-04-30 00:10:00 |
1287 | Reserves It should be a rule that the starting bid is the reserve of the lot. $1 starts on lots with reserves of $30-40 or higher are a waste of bidders time. warm3 - 2009-04-30 20:44:00 |
