Afternoon Ladies. It's very cold wind blowing here with sun in and out. After having temps in the 20's during the week.
Had the guys in to hook us up to fibre (boardband)for our computer on Friday. Was on Wifi and was having great problems with our phones.
Yes things are running alot better now.
Busy working on some books at present as our Book Art Group is have an Exhibit later this month at our city Creative Arts Centre.Been planning for it all year now the pressure is on to complete our work. Us crafters know what it like leaving eveyrthing to the last minute. Just waiting for the last of my papermaking sheets to dry.All up about 50 plus sheets.
Hope you have a better day at the market today. Kuaku. We can expect 60 plus cruise ships this season. Still no markets for them to visit. They bus them out to wineies mostly.
Hope everyone is staying warm and dry today.
A great day for crafting.

Ooops you know its not alot of fun when you fall backwards and hit the concrete with ya head lol..
I forgot about a bit of wood that was leaning out behind me and down I went.. OOPS.. a tiny tender spot on my head and a good graze on my leg, otherwise Im ok..
And of course I did it before Id even started putting the compost etc in the bins lol. But its all done now and the Pumpkin plant I got is in too. Finally.

Ohh Kiwimade its sad to hear about schools burning. Our school in Thames had two fires before Id even turned 9. One I only vaguely remember cos My eldest brother discovered it, thanks to a knot of wood falling out of a wall. And I was sooo worried cos my brand new school bag was inside. One of those fluro orange with black edging vynal ones...

And the other fire was from a chimney of a pot belly falling in. I was in the classroom at the time with my friend and our teacher. And my brand new worn for the first time white cardigan.. I dont know how mum managaed to get the soot etc out of it.

It may not be a worry cos of insurance but its the disruption to the school and students. And exam time is not a good time.

I will be sitting with my leg up crocheting when I get off here.

Evening ladies, a better day at the market, not outstanding but worth going, so that's all good. I am back there again on Wednesday when there's another ship in, but the weekend of 25/26/27 there's 3 ships in and I'm on standby so hoping someone will decide they don't want to go.

I sold the flower puzzle ball that I just finished yesterday, so I guess I should try to make another. Not sure I will get one done by Wednesday, but I can try - and then I probably won't sell another one for 6 months.

Man it is cold here. I was cold all day at the market until it was time to pack up, and as soon as we load everything back into the car and have to vacuum the carpets it suddenly gets unbearably hot.

I wonder what summer will bring. I hope the wind drops.

Popeye, take care. Not much fun knocking yourself around.

morning ladies :) They have arrested two 19 year old girls popeye. Sounds like fireworks gone wrong :(

Good you are selling your products kuaka, we have a list of dates for when the cruise ships come into Mount Maunganui and will sometimes go over to have a look. They don't have craft fairs there either for the tourists.

I'm going to down this coffee then get out to mow the lawn. It's supposed to be around 20 degrees today but I'll believe it when I feel it. I should be able to craft sometime this afternoon, will see how I go.

Hope you are on the mend today popeye.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone.

Ohh to be expected Im creaky today. I am glad I carried on yesterday tho. Or it would still be waiting. It will ease off over the day I hope.
One thing I am glad of, well two actually, That both times I have fallen its been on my back, Ive never smashed my face up. And Im also pleased that I didnt hit the tail bone again yesterday. Althought its sore further out on the butt.
I got heaps of crochet done yesterday tho. It was a good way to keep myself awake. Was quite sleepy in the afternoon and I know if Id shut my eyes Id have slept quite easy.
So today will be another healing day.

Have done 8 rows now. So its popping along rather quickly. Ill def have it finished for christmas rather than the Birthday at the end of January..

So Ill be able to start the batman one sooner. And Im also tempted to do a Rasta one. But Ill see how I feel about more black after doing the batman ones.
Soo pleased they got the silly girls Kiwimade.. No respect.

Glad the market was better for you Kuaka. I wish some of my things would sell Ive had them way too long.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) It's supposed to be fine today, but we had amazing lightening last night and it's still cloudy this morning.

I have a few things to do in town today, I haven't been into town for a while as I seem to be keeping busy at home. But my list of 'to do in town things' is getting longer and I can't put it off.

I've been nodding off on the couch the last few evenings so no knitting is being done. Don't know if this nodding off is a good thing or not lol, but I must be tired at the end of the day.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone.
Fine but cloudy too..

Must be all the fresh air and working Kiwimade.

I didnt want to go up the road today but need to. Then Im coming home and Missy is going to help me re-organize the pantry in the garage.

Then I still have these seeds to plant. They have been waiting long enough.

Aches and pains not too bad this morning.. The neck is still tender tho. Was googling and it sounds like neck strain or sprain.. or simply whiplash. But its not bad enough to make me need to see a dr. so long as Im gentle with myself Ill be fine.
Have an awesome bruise on my leg lol

Got four squares done yesterday so Im happy with that.

Have a fab day everyone

Afternoon All
Nice day today although coolish wind.
Hope your aches are settling Popeye.

Here are a couple of photos of some of the socks Ive been doing.
A range of the sizes
https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/675930546.jpg

Some of the various patterns from my dyed wool, always interesting to see how it will knit up and tends to vary with the size of the garment. I have done beanies in it too and get a completely different result.

https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/675930166.jpg

Enjoy the rest of your day.
eta - seem to have got the photos back to front but you will work it out no doubt lol.

They are all lovely Jayemtoo.. I especially love the orange and redish ones at the top of the first photo.
A good range of colours and sizes there.

Yes my aches are better today. I have been busy so am a little sore. but have had pain meds.

I went up the street, came home and sorted the big pantry, with Missys help. The very bottom of the cupboard is very deep so I was sitting on the floor, so had lots of helpfull Mooches from Missy moo.

Made a supersized meat patty for MrP's hamburger (I make them on toast bread not buns) crumbed a tiny wee chicken breast and then cooked the rest of the mince. of which I will pack down into flat bags with enough mince for a couple of toasted sammies for MrP.
And re-did a part of the pantry in the kitchen cos the big tupperware containers I had the flour and sugar in were just too big.

My Sister came to check I was mending, which means soo Much to me. That someone cares enough to come and make sure.

So now I can sit and crochet..

Morning everyone
Guessing everyone is making the most of a beautiful day.

Ive put the chicken Stoup on.. Cooking it up to use in pies or toasted sammies. Made mince for it yesterday too. Thus making some easy meals for when I finally get my hernia repaired.
Will finally do my seeds this morning. I hope the wind stays down for that. Cos I wont work with seed raising mix or even potting mix inside. I know two people who have died from legionaires disease from it.

Then I will sit and crochet and rest.

Have an awesome day in this lovely weather

Good morning - funny old day here - cloudy one minute sunshine the next with a gentle chilly breeze - will head out soon to the park to blow the cobwebs away
My house guest has made me thankful I didn’t chose marriage guidance as a career - most of the time I have no idea what to say and then when he asks if he is boring me because of my silence it makes it blimmin worse!
Jayemtoo the socks are wonderful I bet they are very welcome gifts
Still haven’t planted my pallet garden - might do it today - I am like you Popeye very careful with potting mix - a lady just along the road in Bathurst died while we were living over there
Had a look in one of my bins of unfinished projects last night nothing jumped out and grabbed my enthusiasm- poor old dolly still laying there in bits

Good Morning everyone. Hope you your walk around Park Island while it's still fine. The weather can't make up it's mind.
Glad to hear you are slowly coming right Popeye. How nice of your sister to call in.
Yes the socks are lovely,I'm sure who gets to wear them will enjoy as well.

Mr S had a visit from the Phyiso this morning and walked very painful around the section with her. Can't wait for his appointment now which is next Monday.
Picked up my needles then put them down again. I have some other crafts that need to be finished and the deadline is getting closer.

Well I must away and hang out some washing and see what I can get for lunch. Need to do a s/market run sometime today.
Enjoy your day everyone.

And now its raining, now that Ive watered the garden lol.

Finally got my seeds planted... Fingers crossed its really just to use to barter with other locals.

And Ive done the chicken stoup. I did thicken it a little wo make it a nice thick filling for toasted sammies or pies.

Done MrP's pill trays so the afternoon is free for crochet..

Im pleased with finally ticking off the jobs.. Now need a bit of a spring clean, wall wise and Ill do the net curtains when its fine again.. although I generally wash them and hang them straight back up. but on fine days to have the windows open to dry them off.

But not today lol

morning ladies :) It's a great feeling isn't it when the to-do list is ticked off.

Today I need to de-head the roses, not a chore at all! Usually around Mum's birthday the first flush finishes, which is a shame as I'd love to take some to the cemetery for her birthday. Might just take some next time I'm in Cambridge anyway. Finally was able to name the last nameless rose in the garden yesterday. It was a rescue rose and I had no idea what it was until it flowered. So now I can add Belle Story to the list :)

Knitting has been slow, another evening where I was tired. I went to yoga and pushed myself again and can now do one of the poses without props. Feels good too.

Happy knitting :)

Morning ladies, it was a so-so sort of day at the market yesterday, I sold a few things, but considering there was a ship in it was pretty quiet, and the weather turned to rubbish and just after lunch we had torrential rain and it was cold, so we had no more people coming through and we packed up early. By the time we had packed everything away the rain had stopped which was just as well 'cos I'd left my brolly in the car which was parked a good walk away.

No plans for today. Might go to the supermarket for a few things, but I have someone hopefully coming today to buy a china cabinet I don't want and someone coming to pick up an industrial sewing machine that I sold on here. I am hoping to declutter a bit more and then get one of the neighbours to paint a couple of ceilings for me and the two walls at the top of the stairs (although flattie says that's easy to do - I don't feel like tackling them - don't mind doing the rest of it though.

Again I didn't do any knitting or crochet last night, was really tired and went to bed early, had a coughing fit at 4 this morning which woke me but I did get back to sleep again. I wish this cough would bu**er off.

I suppose I should have breakfast and do something useful today.

Have a super day everyone.

Morning everyone
Pretty name for a rose Kiwimade. Need to take a few heads off ours too. I hope to get the little rose moved this weekend.

We had alot of rain yesterday so rather heavy. but it was coming straight down, no wind to move it.. And that was of course after id watered the gardens lol.

Sat down to watch tv and crochet last night. Missy basically jumped up to sit on my knee before I was even sitting properly and realised I didnt get a ball of wool out.. So instead of disturbing her I sewed ends in instead lol.

Sounds like you need a good rest Kuaka... dont get tooo run down cos if you get too low you could get shingles.. and thats no fun at all.

Going to drop some jars off at the oppy this morning , get a few groceries and come home...
Have a headache this morning, which I think is just sinus rather than anything delayed from my fall.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning
Yes I’ve had to have a dead heading session on my roses too, they quite suddenly looked bedraggled but tidy now.

My last pair of socks seem to be dragging on - they are big ones and I haven’t done much knitting this week but now want to start a couple of tops for a little girl and getting impatient. So saying “no more socks” I went to Skeinz yesterday and brought another lot of naked wool ready for dyeing! Got in before wool prices go up and will be ready for next winter is my theory.

Out to factory this am then want to sort out a bit of a watering system for the little fruit trees. Brought some hose etc yesterday so now just have to set things up. It’s a lovely day for outside things.

Enjoy your day Everyone

Morning everyone,
A glorious day out there.. and a nice cool morning. I could get used to this lol.

I have a friend coming to weed my front garden at some stage. When she can fit it in around her large family and the weather..
Im going to bake for her as a trade..

I have 9 rows all crochet and ends sewn in now. So Im pleased with my progress.
The two cushions were a hit with my boys wife.. They were having a bad day and the cushions arrived and made her cry happy tears.. I hadnt told her they were on the way.

Will sit and enjoy crocheting today.

Have a wonderful day everyone

Morning ladies, cold here this morning. I got up at 8, made a cup of tea and went back to my nice cosy bed. I should do some gardening but not sure I will, see how I feel after breakfast.

While I was at the craft market on Wednesday a chap came to see me about doing some sewing. He wants some cushion covers made using upholstery type fabric - sounds like a job I should be doing on the industrial sewing machine, which I sold last week and was picked up yesterday! If my Elna or Singer can't handle it, I'll have to turn it down, 'cos I sold the semi-industrial Bernina a few weeks ago. Sold a china cabinet yesterday too. I am finally getting on top of the "clutter" - before it gets on top of me.

It's awesome when someone appreciates something you've made isn't it popeye? Makes you feel really good.

At the supermarket yesterday a lady commented on my bag which I made about 3 years ago. She said she has one similar but hadn't figured out how to put a zip in the centre - mine is called a "no sag bag". She pointed me in the direction of a bag but warned that it's free but there's 84 pages to print. Kinda put me off a bit.

Have a super day everyone.

afternoon ladies :) The power is finally back on, yesterday the power went off until nearly 6.00pm and then again today until around 5.00pm. There were birds nesting in the grid apparently. Would be nice if we had been warned though, we would have prepared a bit better. MrK phoned the plumber today and he is coming to put a tap on the water tank hose so we can have fresh water if this happens again. Usually we have water in the fridge but not this time. The rain water tank water is fine for the loo but not drinking.

MrK has been asked to do some work on a truck engine so he has been studying up the manual. I think he is quite chuffed to be back on the spanners :) even if it is only for a few days.

I started knitting a ballet cardy for our grandy today seeing as I could sit down for a bit. Plain stocking stitch gets a tad boring after a while but it does have a wee cable up the front edges and around the neck.

Happy knitting :)

morning ladies :) My hayfever has kicked in with a vengeance so back on the antihistamines I go.

It's a nice cool morning so I'll make the most of it and do some more weeding. Next week I plan to order a couple of cubic meters of soil so will be wheelbarrowing that onto the garden. I need to finish the weeding beforehand.

This afternoon I should be able to do some more knitting, am very tempted to add a pretty stitch to this ballet cardy.

Happy knitting :)

Morning
Annoying not having warning about the power Kiwimade.
Nice but breezy day. Slowly getting going for the day.
Going out for lunch with friends so better not procrastinate too long.

Started the jersey for little girl, it has a pattern at the bottom so nice and “girly” looking.

Enjoy your day

Morning everyone
They should have warned you re the power Kiwimade... glad you made it through tho. And a good idea having a tap off the pump.

Grey here and quite windy..

I was going to bake this morning. But Ive had a bit of a 24 hour "runs" bug and I dont want to risk sharing it. I also slept in the same position all night and boy Im creaky today lol was a good sleep tho lol.

A friend is taking me up to our fruit shop in papakura today. They have 4 chips of strawberries for $5.. Tomatoes $1 a big bag etc so Ill be making jam as well as baking tomorrow.

Did 8 squares yesterday, so Imleased with that.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning
Everything is the same shade of grey outside - odd looking flat grey sky but not raining.

Had a lovely lunch at cafe by sea yesterday and then walk along beach - really cleared the head.
Spent evening reading and knitting, had a good book which I was ploughing through so quite a bit of knitting got done at the same time!

Enjoy your day

morning ladies :) Well the power flicked off and on last evening but eventually decided to stay on. Our friends down the road didn't have our luck and their power went out for quite a while. I was reading some comments on the Transpower FB page and there were some pretty cheesed off people the other day.

It's a chilly morning so I might switch things around and knit this morning, then this afternoon finish weeding along the roadside. Just as well I tied back a climbing rose yesterday, the wind we had in the afternoon blew a gale.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone

Grey here too and a bit of wind. Not cool tho. It got humid late yesterday.

Today is 11 years since I had my Heart opp. So its generally a day for being thankful I got the opp and that Im still here.

A friend took me to Papakura yesterday. I got 8 chips of strawberries and they are now in the pot with two of hers and a mountain of sugar lol.. So Jam making today.

Was going to bake but am leaving that till tomorrow cos my friend who is doing the garden always comes into town on tuesdays, so she can pick it up then.

Will crochet later as I didnt get any done yesterday.

Id have been cross about the power too Kiwimade, they could have warned people. When ours was off and it was going to take longer than they thought they came and told us.

Right get a few things done on here while the jam is slowly warming up

Have a fab day everyone.

You got a good buy there with the S/berries . Enjoy Popeye. Need to check out what the fruit like down here, as I am very low on Jam at present.

Not alot of knitting or sewing going on here at presend.Did a big cleanup in the lounge. Hopefully no more fires,if it does get cold, I'll put the heater on. Mr S is feeling the cold at just now.
Just maybe I'll put ups some knitting this afternoon.

Afternoon ladies, I didn't feel so good this morning, woke late, and stayed put even later, got up and made a cup of tea and went back to bed till almost 11. I'm going to a "pot luck" dinner tonight at the neighbours and decided I would make a fruit sponge flan. I haven't made one for years and I'm not sure that it is going to be a success, but I will wait till the sponge comes out of the oven. If it's okay I will go and buy strawberries and cream, if it's no good, I'll go and buy a cheesecake or something.

It's grey here too and blowing quite hard. I will have to go and tie my tomatoes if they haven't already ruined.

Might do some sewing this afternoon.

Have a super day everyone.

morning ladies :) I hope you are feeling better this morning kuaka.

That blimmen wind was strong, am glad MrK had cut out some dead wood in a tree the other day.

A while back I bought some yarn from Spotlight for an idea I had but that didn't pan out but I have found it is perfect for tying back the roses and tomatoes lol. So I've found a use for it after all.

I've finished one front of the ballet cardy then found the back was too short for it. Rather than fiddle around with the front, I unpicked the back and lengthened it. It won't matter as our granddaughter is quite tall. I'll find some time this afternoon to finish the back. I need to buy some ribbon for the ties so will do that when in town today.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone

Up early today trying to beat the heat cos Im baking, and had to get the rubbish out early too I wont miss it.

Got the Jam made yesterday. Had a boil over.. First tiime ever. I was sorting jars and lids.. Thankfully I was only 2 steps away so threw it on the bench. What a molten mess. But none of it hit the element thank goodness. I imagine it would stink.
Got 10 jars from 10 chips.. so was pleased with that and my friend has hers already.

Ive done 10 Rows now so only 2 to go.. Yippee. Its amazing how if your making something for someone you love it goes faster and is easier to make in a way.

Morning all - grey chilly day here - Ash has cabin fever! Was supposed to go to optician today - have been awake half the night worrying as my eyesight certainly ain’t what it used to be - but she has just rang and cancelled as she is unwell -
Popeye if you see any butter on special and you intend to do Xmas butter6 baking buy it and freeze it - supermarkets have no control over the pricing upward spiral - veggies are going to be expensive as well -
Still haven’t picked up the hook or needles yet - I think I will gather up all the wool I have left over from the girls blankets - there is quite a pile because I changed my mind on the colours - some of it I have wound into balls so if I list it on the destash page somebody may want it -
My house guest goes today and my 16 year old granddaughter arrives on Saturday for 2 months - she is working in the supermarket before starting uni next year - should be interesting !

And cheese scones for lunch. yumm

Cant wait to try the coconut loaf it smells good

Afternoon Ladies, very cool overcast day here. Our hospital appointment was very short and sweet. In and out in 45mins.The villia had not one waiting when we arrived at 10.05am this morning. In and out in 45 mins. Mr S is now waiting for a date to have his left hip replacement op. The team he saw sored him 97 out of 100. Now a waiting game. We hope by having the hip replacement will ease the pain on his spine cord.

Hope you are feeling better today Kuaka. Sometimes a good rest can be good for you. If it was like our Sunday it be good place to be.
What a great buy with the s/berries Popeye. The Fruit jelly loaf sounds my kind of baking. Yes I am going to make it.
Enjoy the rest of you day ladies.

morning ladies :) Buggar about the boil over popeye, what a mess to clean up! I have a ceramic top on our oven and the electrician told me it would pit if burnt sugar spilled on it so only small batches of jam at a time for me.

Wow sunflowers, it sounds like MrS is in desperate need of that new hip. My sister-in-law had her hip done a couple of years ago and omg the difference it has made to her life. It's one of those things you wish there was no waiting list for as the life changes are so dramatic.

I finished the back of the cardy and have started the second front. The fronts knit up quite quickly as there is a lot of decreasing on the front edges.

Happy knitting :)

A warm start to the day.

Hope they dont keep your hubby tooo long Sunflowers.. Mum left hers too long and was a mess..
MrP's uncle was waiting for his new hip years ago, the piece was sitting on the wharf in Auckland during a strike..

Thankfully Kiwimade it didnt get to the element.. It was bad enough as it was. lol.

Im going out to run the hoe over the weeds this monring. The butter beans have all popped up in 8 days, so thats pretty good. Will check the other seeds I planted too and give everything a good drink.

Managed to get half a row done yesterday too which was good.. so 1.5 to go. I should be starting to join on the weekend.
One step closer to Batman lol

morning ladies :) Yesterday I ordered two cubic meters of garden mix soil for the garden but I know MrK wants it for the new raised vegie garden he is building so I may have to order more. It's going to be delivered tomorrow or Friday.

Dad is in hospital with pneumonia in his left lung so we're off to Waikato this morning. He was taken by ambulance last night. I'll take my knitting (as you do lol).

No knitting last night, those antihistamines are knocking me about a bit.

Going to transplant the rose today too finally.

Morning ladies, yes kiwimade, sending hugs to your dad for a speedy recovery.

I must get myself organised, I'm off to knit and natter in an hour, and haven't got anything suitable on the needles, and I want to put clean sheets on the bed before I go, as I've stripped the bed and done the washing. I hate coming home and finding the bed unmade.

I have a little sewing job for a friend too, and I'd like to do that before I go. It's just to overlock around a square of fabric, so as long as the overlocker behaves it should only take me a few minutes. Then after lunch I'm out to a combined housewarming/birthday party. Two friends decided to have a combined party as one has just moved and the other has a birthday. Sounds like a plan.

It's looking like a beautiful day but there is still a bit of a nip in the air.

Have a fabulous day everyone.

Been out in the gardens for the last hour or so this morning while it not too hot.Slowly getting it how I want it. Mr S is very happy to leave it to me.
I'm sure some knitting will see some light sometime today or this evening. Off now to have b/fast and then to gym later this morning.

morning ladies :) I visited dad yesterday to find he had had a heart attack over night. At least he was in hospital for that! He will be fine though, more meds for him to take.

After mowing the lawns, I have to replace the silicone I scraped out from around the bath yesterday. Might involve a bit of painting there too where I hit the paint with the scraper.

We're expecting our two cubic meters of garden mix today or tomorrow so better find where the tarps are for when the truck arrives. The driver can dump the garden mix onto that.

And the plumber is due to visit at some stage to put in the new tap so we can get water direct from the water tank.

It is going to be hot today, so will down this coffee then head outside to mow the lawn while the morning is nice and cool.

Happy knitting :)

Morning
Best wishes for a speedy recovery for your Dad Kiwimade.
Hope theres no cruise ships in today as I need to go into town and it seems to take longer when a lot of tourists wandering around.

Yes it is warming up here need to put the hose under a few of the trees later. Im having a bit of a battle with the birds who like digging into the damp places around my new little seedlings. I planted 10 corn a couple of days ago and found half of them lying on top or buried yesterday managed to resurrect 8 of them and put netting over until they are a bit bigger. I use the waste product from the factory for mulch which is really good as it is basically just mushed up paper but the birds also seem to like it, I think as it keeps the underlying ground moist which encourages the worms. Also this year the birds have taken a liking to lemons of all things - never seen them eating them before but they fight over any that fall off the tree.

Onto the sleeves of the jersey it is supposed to have a lace frill to them but after doing it I thought it too impractical for a little one on the move so have restarted with a simpler and more fitting pattern around the wrists.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Morning everyone. We are all early birds this morning.

I went up early to do my blood and groceries, so Id be back before the lawnguys arrive.
I was going to go up yesterday for their money but couldnt be bothered lol..

Our front garden looks wayy better now the weeds are gone. Took my friend 1.5 hours to do.

I have 9 squares to go and since today is going to be a hot one (We started with fog). Im going to sit and crochet.

Best wishes for your dad Kiwimade.. Your right if theyre going to have a heart attack theyre in the right place.
A few years ago mrP tried custard while he was in hospital. It used to give him bad asthma, so the nurse said to him try it we can watch and help if needed.. So hes going to try peas next time he is in there lol.

Morning ladies, am I the only lazy one today - I've just got up not more than 15 minutes ago. I don't seem to have a lot of energy at the moment. Maybe I need a holiday!

Nothing exciting planned for today. Going to the supermarket for a "few" things - haven't written the list yet but I don't think I need a lot, and get a gas bottle refilled for the hob. Hope to do some weeding and also the little sewing job that didn't get done yesterday, and hopefully go for a walk this evening with friends.

I would like to try to fit in some snooker practice as I have a tournament to play tomorrow. I suspect I will be thrashed, as it's a handicapped tournament but the chap who did the handicapping gave all the females 35 and the lady I have to play is a much better player and has been playing a lot longer than me, but we start off equal which to my way of thinking, isn't what handicapping is all about. Oh well, it's just a game - "no it's not" I can hear Mr K in my ear!

Hope your Dad recovers soon kiwimade. You are right, he is in the right place.

Happy knitting everyone.

Good Morning Ladies, very warm and sunny here again today. Was out watering the flower gardens in the front last night. It's so dry.
Spend time out this morning tieing up my tomatoes in veggie garden and some hoeing. I'm getting my orders from Mr S as it's always been his gardens.
Thinking of you Kiwimade and hope your dad is doing well. Yes! a good place to be when you need care.
All the best for the snooker tourment today Kuaku. You go lady and show the guys you just as good as them.
Did a a number of rows on the baby blanket last night thanks to Coro Street.
Must a way as someone is dropping hints for a coffee.
Have a great day everyone.
Cheers.

Morning ladies, no market for me today - but I've got a stall tomorrow and Monday - there's 3 cruise ships in today, tomorrow and Monday.

Well I didn't win at the snooker, but then I didn't expect to with us both being on the same handicap and her being a much better player. Will be interesting to see how I go on Monday in the "drawn pairs", where they just draw names out of a hat and pair you up. The guy I've drawn is an average player, the pair we are playing against one is an average player and the other used to partner Mr K, he's quite a good player but gets very nervous when he plays any sort of tournament. Anyway yesterday I lost the first frame, won the second "black to win" and I potted the black, and then lost the third. I couldn't believe it. I potted 8 reds and no colours. Oh well.

Mah Jong at the club this afternoon if the numbers work out right, otherwise I will come home and do some sewing.

I'm happy growing vegetables and oriental lilies. I love them.

Have a super day everyone.

morning ladies :) Dad is home now and a lot happier for his own bed. The meds seem to be working for the pneumonia and he has other meds to take now for his heart.

The handicapping at your snooker tournament didn't sound right kuaka. Hopefully you have a better tourney this time round.

We had no power yesterday morning as a young guy fell asleep at the wheel of his car, drifted across the road and sheared a concrete power pole off at it's base. He was so lucky he wasn't hurt or no one was coming the other way. We have huge truck and trailers on our road.

So spent the morning wheeling wheel barrow loads of the garden mix we had delivered onto the front flower garden and planting some new plants I bought the day before but it was far to hot to plant them when I got home. Was very grateful it was a nice overcast day yesterday for me to get the outside things done. MrK wanted to buy some chilli plants so while he was buying those I found a gorgeous clematis, it's blue/purple and has a fluffy center. The bees have already found it.

I did some knitting yesterday as well, am almost finished the second front to the ballet cardy. It seems a slow project, I'm usually much more enthusiastic on finishing my knitting projects. Just a busy time outside this time of the year I guess.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Glad to hear your dad is on the mend Kiwimade.. and nothing much better than your own bed.

Sounds like that young man needs to thank his lucky stars... Obviously being asleep and relaxed helped him survive.

Had a flat battery day yesterday, so didnt really do anything other than looking through some cookbooks.

Going to lay the blanket out today. Its not something I enjoy in the heat. I use MrP's bed, which is high, but have to shut the door or Missy "helps" me. So I put the fan on while Im in there.
Then at least if I just want to sit in the heat I can do the blanket while Im pretending to do nothing.

I have two pumpkin seedlings up.. Yayay. Never grown them intentionally before.. And hopefully they will be stronger than the brought one that didnt survive.

Have a fab day everyone
