I reckon you can never have too much wool either

Morning ladies, I was tired last night when I went to bed, but was still awake at 5.30 this morning when I finally drifted into a deep sleep. The plan was to go for a walk this morning but when I woke I could hear the rain and it hasn't stopped yet, so walking is cancelled, but we might be going somewhere for lunch - haven't had that confirmed yet, so just in case I only had a light breakfast.

Club tonight - hope to get a snooker tournament out of the way - this one (if we play it) is the over 60s. Have two others to play in before Sunday, so going to be a busy week.

Managed to mow the lawn yesterday, but what a hassle, the mower (electric) is playing up, seems as though there's a loose wire or a dirty connection in the start switch, and the only way it will keep running is if I hold the start switch pressed in, which makes steering it quite difficult. I messaged Paul about it and he said he will look at it when he's over next which he says should be Christmas/New Year - he said his wife wants to go to Jakarta but he doesn't want to. Her sister is there.

Was going for a walk for the first time in ages with the neighbours/friends but rain has stopped play! There is talk of going out for lunch instead but that's not confirmed yet - I had a light breakfast just in case.

Well seeing as I had a late start to the morning I had better get busy and try to do something useful.

The runner looks lovely kiwimade.

Have a super day and stay safe on the roads.

Good afternoon from a drizzly grey HawkesBay - just got back from my walk in time
Have had one of the most harrowing weeks of my driving a car experiences
Tuesday I parked my car at the local shopping centre - they are very narrow parks so when I got back to my car and found a large mini van parked way over the white line and so close to my car they must have got out of the passengers side - I started to back out but because I couldn’t see if anything was coming and I knew I had to watch the front very carefully I just sat there thinking I would wait for the driver to come back eventually a lady who wanted to park tapped on my window- she would park in the waiting lane watching my rear and I would slowly inch back - next thing BANG an idiot had cut in front of her to pinch the park - he said he saw me backing back and she should have reversed to let him get out of my way - I questioned his sanity but I am in the wrong as I was reversing But it got worse yesterday was coming down George’s Drive had the green light but slowed right down as there were about 10 people waiting to cross so thought the lights might change - next thing bang and a kid is splat on my windscreen - he had earphones on and rode around ll the waiting people not even aware he was on the road - he was so lucky I had slowed right down otherwise I would have run him over - his bike went under my front wheel - but there was no way I could have seen him as he just came flying out around the people waiting - to his credit he hobbled down off my car and came round to see if I was alright which for a 13 year old was impressive - I am beginning to wonder if I should be driving but my kids have assured me neither bumps are anything to do with my age!
Kiwimade love the runner

Afternoon
Oh Gerry what an aweful time onthe road for you. I presume the backing out one was at Marewa - the parking there can be atrocious at times, I’m always surprised that there aren’t more accidents what with people wait8ng for a park and having to back out into the traffic leaving the lights with 2 lanes merging into one right there.

The runner is superb Kiwimade it will look great with gray.

Sister and I had a great time on saturday sorting out the factory. BiL tends to be a bit of a hoarder we now have a largish pile of stuff for the inorganic collection which he helped us with and 5 large rubbish bags of stuff which he knows little about! The place looks a lot tidier at the moment not sure how long it will stay like that!!

It’s come in quite damp so might go get a few tomato plants to put in while the ground is wet.

jayemtoo - 2017-10-23 14:51:00
12804

Yes it was at Marewa Jayemtoo that’s why the lady blocking the lane gave me confidence but I certainly didn’t expect somebody to cut in front of her to pinch the park!

morning ladies :) Omg Gerry, what a cheeky buggar and that kid! I think you will find your insurance companies will do a 'knock-for-knock' agreement where each company covers their own costs. The guy was an idiot, could see the traffic had stopped but kept going. I used to work for insurance companies and saw all sorts of claims.

Housework was done so yesterday afternoon I sat down and had a tutu with a crochet pattern I have put down a few times and I wasn't prepared to buy thread for it under the circumstances. I think I have finally got the gist of it now but will keep pottering with it until I am sure.

Lawns to mow and roses to spray with garlic water for aphids today. I read a tip, if you plant your garlic under your roses, you won't have any aphids. So next year, our garlic is going out in the 'big' garden under the roses.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Ohh Gerry what a trying time for you. Our old supermarket car park had narrow parking spots. I had to get a staff member (Skinny) to get into m car and back it out for me a few times.
Ive left amessage under a wipe a few times too, Saying.. "Next tiime please leave me a can opener"

A quiet day yesterday, got a few more recipes into my book. But not alot else..

MrP is sleeping off a sleeping pill so its nice and quiet without the TV on.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning ladies, it's a fabulous looking morning so far, sun and no wind, a bit different to yesterday when it rained until mid afternoon.

Had a nice lunch yesterday and then went to the club just after 5 and played in the "handicapped singles" and the "over 60s". I won through to the next round in the handicapped singles but was beaten in the over 60s. I still have the "drawn pairs" to do and it is supposed to be played before Sunday. Well all the tournaments are supposed to be played before Sunday, I will be very surprised if they are.

I wrote on the board where players put their names when they are waiting for a table "Carol & Harry - handicapped singles match" and some bright spark added "severely" in front of the handicapped. I smiled.

I have to go through to Kawakawa this morning, don't go there very often, and then this afternoon it's mah jong. My offsider is back so I don't have to collect the money today, I always prefer not having to do that.

Gosh Gerry, you are having a bad run. I don't like to say it, but these things usually come in threes, so please be careful. Occasionally I've got back to my car and had to squeeze in through the passenger side, one time in the Safari I had to go in through the door at the back and clamber over both lots of seats. Not very dignified.

I have a market on Saturday and have a couple of things I'd like to finish before then, so I must get busy, I don't seem to have done much crafting lately. I sold my semi industrial sewing machine at the weekend and then spent some time re-organising the sewing room. I've still got an industrial that I don't want. It's taking up room in the corner of the billiard room so I hope that sells.

Have a super day everyone.

Good morning blustery day here but supposed to get to 22 so that’s good
Yes Kuaka I thought that but my granddaughter reminded me the bike was number three - her neighbour backed into my parked car was it’s first ding - to think we never ever had a claim while the old boy was alive !
Had a smile about the garlic under the roses - we bought a house with lovely roses and when the garlic started popping up under them I dug it all out- my Mum told me too late what it was - I thought it was a gigantic version of that awful onion weed - was never much of a gardener - it was a huge beautiful garden so we hired a gardener to come tidy it up before my sons 21st - it looked lovely - on the Thursday before the party the two kuni kuni pigs got out and decided they would use the big fish pond as a swimming pool and turned the surrounding garden beds into a mud pit - we were not home but the neighbours took photos - the little sods had the time of their lives sliding in and out - not many of the fish survived !
Well better get cracking not sure what’s on the agenda today

lol Gerry, MrK can relate to the 21st story! The day of his sisters (twins) 21st, a rat ended up in the loo... MrK being MrK got his .22 and shot it, shattering the loo! Was a mad scramble to get the plumber and buy a new loo but on the plus side, his mum ended up with a new fridge as my father-in-law spotted in while in town buying the loo.

I have a recipe book which I've written up but I only ever (with two exceptions) write in things that I have already tried and are successful.

Lunch and then I'm off out for the afternoon, it has turned quite blustery.

morning ladies :) Changeable here, cloudy one minute, fine the next. I want to do some weeding, got on top of it last week so want to keep it up. I also have a lady calling in from a gardening group I belong to wanting to raid the garden for plants.

Nothing as such on the needles or hook at the moment, will make a decision soon as I miss having nothing to do.

Yin Yoga this evening, I really look forward to this and am finding I am much more flexible now.

happy knitting :)

Morning
Oh dear - those 21st stories are great for a laugh.

Having an “odd job” day, hoping to get things sorted out which I have been putting aside for a while. Also start a bit of spring cleaning of neglected corners of the house such as my “junk” room although that’s not too bad at the moment but good to keep it that way lol.

Enjoy your day

I spent more time writing recipes. These are recipes I know I will make. At some stage. Would you lovely ladies like to share with me one of your fave baking / dessert recipes that are always popular, so I can write them in my book.. Its fun looking through my previous book at recipes from ladies at different parts of my life.
Have to pop up and get the lawn mowing money, I was hoping not to go out until tomorrow so I nearly made it.. but they will be here about 9-30 and I dont want to have to get up too early lol.

Good Morning Ladies, sunny and warm so washing out on the line and all I need to do now is vac and mop out and that me for the day. Will work out in our semi glasshouse attacked to car shed. It's handy to grow seeds, cuttings etc needs a tidy up and hose down on the outside.
Sew up some project bags for a birthday present. She needle felts small pieces and also does bead weaving so does not require very large bags.
Had a look at my wool last night as I have a blanket to knit for a baby girl due mid Nov.No luck ,I need to buy some as I want to us knit it in 10 ply. Have a feeling a visit to Skeinz store or a Wool'n' Things which has alot of new lines of wool now. Both are handy to get too.

Yes, parking in Marewa is a pain at anytime these days Gerry. Now walk up to the shops or park in one of the side streets.

Good luck in the tournaments later today Kuaku. By the way you are not on your own with not sleeping and then sleeping in late in the mornings.

Love your runner you just shared with us. The bedroom looks lovely and bright. Just waiting for your visitors.....

Mr S has just had a call from the Dr re his hip/upper leg x ray so I better check in and see what what.Fingers crossed it not another visit to the hospital.

Good on you Kuaka.

Had a great day yesterday getting various odd jobs done around the place, hoe to do the same in the garden later today but first have to make some lunches for the school. We take it in turns to deliver a couple of lunches to the local primary school for kids who may not have one or to top up if a kid doesn’t have enough or has a. inappropriate lunch. It’s my turn this week. It’s a “school” week as I also rostered to help with the Friday breakfast tomorrow.

Still managed a bit of knitting last evening but not getting as much done at the moment - just enough to keep me sane lol.

Enjoy your day Everyone

Morning Ladies,Overcast here in Hawkes Bay at present. The weather hot and sunny. Gym class this morning, Done some housework and may do some Spring cleaning in the kitchen. We will see....

Headed to the Doctors and had a look at his May '17 hip x- ray and his one this week. What great big change. It was so easy to see why he is in so much pain. We had been hopping he have his back done first. A disc rubbing on the spinal cord as well.Had call from his surgeon last evening asking a whole lot questions and if I was happy to have him stay at home and me nurse him till he has his op.Reason is we don't want Mr S picking up any hospital bugs while he waits around for his op.
This surgeon is very good. He was worried that my back would go as I have two lots of discs on my spine caged. I know my limits and see him every 5-6 months. So that where we are just now.

Have got my wool out ready to start my baby blanket after the w/end. Have a busy couple of days coming up. Girlfriend's Birthday this w/end so project bags to sew. They are for her needle felting projects. Also Book Art monthly gathering this Saturday. Couple of pages to finish off and some book covers to cut out to work on.

Kuaka well done. Good Luck for the next game.
Kiwimade,re your photo of the bird and I said it make great cards, I was thinking you could print some off your other bird photos and give them to your visiting students. That if you are still having your oversea students .

Time for b/fast and for me to make a move.
Have a Great Day Everyone.

Morning everyone
Very dark and rain is threatening. New lawns guys are due at 9-30, we are paying a bit more but already know they do an awesome job, cos they do next doors. The guy that took over from our previous team did a slap happy mo , so it will be nice to be having back to looking good.

Shopping today. Going over to Pak n Save, which is rare but they have a $5 week and they have chicken nibbles on special and its something we love. And cos we will be that way it means we have countdown there too, add that to NW here and it will be a bitsa shopping making the best of each place.

Have an awesome day everyone. Ill be dodging rain thats for sure

morning ladies :) Well done kuaka! Practice makes perfect as they say!

Sunflowers, yes, we still have our students and they are usually with us when I take these pics. They are gobsmacked by our birds, beaches and general life style here. If you want to use my pics, have a look through my FB page, I have uploaded lots of different photos you might find useful for your cards.

We have the roofing guy coming at some stage to finish putting up the gutters and spouting on the new porch. He left all the bits and pieces we needed here two years ago when we had the house renos done. MrK is putting on the soakers along the corners of the weatherboards and we have painted all the flashings ready for the roofer. But we need some fine days to get the rest of the painting done outside. Then MrK will line the inside and I can paint that and the door before the glazier comes to put the glass in. Luckily we have heaps of paint left over from painting the house. So there is still a fair bit to do before it is finished and we can put the ramp in. But it is so satisfying looking at photos of what we started with and how it is finishing.

Yin Yoga was hard last evening, my mind just wouldn't settle for some reason and one of the asanas (poses) I just couldn't do with my dodgy ankles. Luckily, there is always an alternative asana to do the same stretch. I can feel just how much more flexible I am now and have noticed I can move 'deeper' into some asanas.

Still nothing on the hook or needles, I must have a rummage and see what I can do. I have figured out the crochet pattern and am wondering where my mind was when I threw it into a corner lol. Will have to buy some more thread when next in Spotlight.

happy knitting :)

Good afternoon - beautiful weather but this car of mine and I are heading for a divorce I think - today went to have a coffee with my son and try out a new bakery item - he says Mum while you are here I have 10 mins to spare so hop over to his fuel station and he will put air in my tyres - but somebody had dropped the air hose and run over it - so off we go to Shell a couple of doors away - also run over - so off we go to BP wee way down the road - success - he goes to start my car the starter motor just whirs - so off he runs back to his work to bring me back another vehicle - on the way rings his wife to take care of what he was supposed to be doing - lucky they both work in the business - comes back with a mechanical person - it’s the battery - so off we go to the battery shop - new battery $145 - Robie is away from work 2 hours - the car is only 14 months old - only done 5100kms - surely it should have lasted longer than that - I guess I should be thankful he was with me if it had happpened at the dog park it would have been worse - it made me realise how ill prepared I am - my cell phone was home on the bench had Ash in the car with no lead - walking down the road to get help at the dog park would be a real problem without a lead - the young bloke fitting the battery asked Robie if he was having a good afternoon - he turned to me and gave me a wry smile ! I am so lucky to have him

Ohh Gerry you certainly are having a bad run of luck. Soo pleased your son was with you.

Neat when you have things coming to completion Kiwimade.

I had a spot of downside this Afternoon. Needed a golly good cry but it it wouldnt come, but MrP and I sat talking after doing our insulin and hadnt noticed that an hour had passed by. But it was nice just sitting talking.

He gave me a heck of a fright today. I spoke to him from the kitchen and he didnt answer. So I came out of the kitchen thinking I hope he hadnt collapsed on the floor or had a stroke sitting there. And he wasnt there. Looked all over the house calling him and was nearly in mad panic mode when I realised the ranchslider door was slightly open.
He said he told me he was taking the tomatoe plants we got, outside to harden up a little. but I hadnt heard him
He apologised and swore to me he would make sure I get the message before he goes out again.

What a scare it gave me.

morning ladies :) Every now and then MrK 'disappears' but I usually find him in the garden.

Another wet day although it is supposed to fine up this afternoon. I have to call into the vets today to pick up the Furry One's epilepsy meds so might have a look around town while there. Time to start thinking of Christmas gifts.

I'll have a look on ravelry soon for a ballet cardy for our granddaughter. She doesn't start until next year but it will give me something to knit and she can have it for Christmas. Our daughter said they just wear comfy clothes as pre schoolers but I think granddaughter wants all the ballet stuff :)

Happy knitting :)

Then some housework and crochet for me.

The dishwasher is still on the blink, (IE in bed) so I will do those when I get home.
Maddy would look very cute in a nice Ballet cardy Kiwimade, with her blonde curls.
Wont hang around long I want tro get out and back fairly early

Afternoon ladies, I don't know where the morning went, I slept well till 3.00am and then woke with indigestion, took me a while to get to sleep again, then I felt lazy so got up and made a cup of tea and went back to bed, so I suppose it was after 9 when I finally got up.

I now have a flatmate, not sure how long it's going to last, but so far so good, except he went out yesterday and didn't lock the ranch slider at the front of the house, and as it's a long way from the living area, I like it locked. So when he got home we had a chat about that, and that's okay. This morning when I went to have my shower he was on the phone so rather than interrupt him, I just went and had my shower. No sooner got in there and it kept going hot and cold - he was having a shower too and the system can't cope with both showers going at once. So we had a chat about that, and hopefully it won't happen again. Seems quite strange having someone in the house other than family. He says he will help out with some jobs around the house, but last night he cooked a nice tea, so that was good.

I had better have some lunch, plan to try to finish making another pukeko for tomorrow's market, and then go to the club to try to get a game of snooker.

Have fun everyone.

morning ladies :) Awesome idea to have a flatmate kuaka, there's bound to be a few kinks for a while until you have each other sussed out.

I have a few cucumber seedlings to plant today, they are the plants New World doled out with purchases. Hardly ever shop there but my sister-in-law does so gave me hers.

I spotted some convolvulus winding it's way through some plants from the bedroom window this morning so will go and pull that out. It's right where I finished the edging of the garden the other day and obviously loves the freshly dug soil and new compost. If I can keep on top of it over spring, it's not so bad over the summer. I was telling MrK the other day the garden is finally becoming less and less work and is starting to come together. All the hours spent out there is beginning to pay off.

Still mucking about with patterns and different cottons, I'll find something to do sooner or later.

Happy knitting :)

Good Morning Ladies Hope it works out for you with having a flatmate Kuaku. Enjoy your day at the market.
Have spend hours out in the garden and slowly getting there. Need to go and get some plants over the w/end.Leaving the fruit bins empty at present. Not sure if they in the right place.

Off later this morning to Book Art. finished a couple of pages for our collective book we are working on. Have two more pages to go. My friend suggest we go for a 2-3 hours as both of us have lost family member this month and things are still raw for both of us at present. We most likely leave at lunchtime and go have a coffee together.

Sometime over the w/end a friend is dropping a warpboard off for me. Have projects I would like to weave so having a board will be very useful.
Time I move time getting on and stillhave a couple of jobs to do.

Have a Great Day Evryone:)

This rain is cunning and coniving I reckon. I want to get some vege plants in but it stays fine through the night then we wake up and its wet. Our picking will be late this year. if it was just me Id go out in the rain but MrP would hit the roof if I did, especially if I got sick cos of it.

I want to clean the deep fryer this morning, and then Im going onto my hook.. Need to keep that up. Cos now I want to make a blue one. I think ill make cot ones. not so big that I have to put a huge price on them.

Morning
Be interesting getting used to a flat mate Kuaka but as long as you can discuss things it helps.

Yes gardens certainly are ongoing projects I had a good go in mine this week but always see another area that needs doing.

BiL has got a big order for his kitty litter - well big for us, so we will be having a couple of busier weeks but as he has been away we have only done one morning out there this weekas so it shouldn’t be too hard. It certainly isn’t a full time job usually only 3 mornings a week but we will have to do a bit more this week to catch up. Going out there soon and make a start on it.

Nearly finished my sock blitz and then will have to think of what next, I do know niece wants more slippers as hers are more holes than slipper and it is a good time of year for getting the felting dry so may do those next but wait and see lol.

Enjoy your day

morning ladies :) I had a nosey around Ravelry yesterday and found a pretty ballet cardy pattern for our granddaughter as well as a couple of cardy patterns for me. I think it's time I started knitting for me again and these two cardies can be knitted in summer cotton and make a nice light cardy for the evenings/mornings when it's chilly. Now to buy the wool/cotton.

I have a big pile of ironing it do first, hate doing ironing but good to have it done.

This morning I picked some sage flowers and have them hanging in the main entrance, it smells nice and I'm hoping they will dry so they can stay there a bit longer. Yesterday I picked the first of my flowers, the rose is Ingrid Bergman, the one I rescued last summer from the bulldozer.

Morning everyone
Love the rose and the snowball Kiwimade.. I love white flowers so have always loved snowballs.
Well I actually managed to weed the vege garden part yesterday. Its no where near perfect but it will do. So I planted the scarlet runner seeds. The tomatoes are hardening, so will plant them near the end of the week. Passionfruit is covered in flower buds and a few open ones. Im finally going to plant the mini garden seeds from New World, the water melon and swan plant. And some pumpkin seeds. will get them going and then plant out, now that the ground is ready. YAY.
Bit achy today but it does feel good to have finally done it.

Have done nearly 3 rows of squares. Thats my to do today after Ive folded a mountain of washing. I seldom leave it unfolded so need a jolly good talking to.

morning ladies :) We have some sun! Good grief lol. So I'm heading outside to mow the lawns before the weather changes on me.

I've decided to use up my little stash as a 'fill in' before I buy any more wool. I'm not one for big stashes and I have a supply of wool just sitting there. Last night I crocheted a square called a 'contour square', I found the pattern on ravelry. It's quite a heavy square in double knit so now I'm wondering if I make a sampler using different patterns of squares with maybe a plain square dividing them. The single beds could use another blanket on each of them, the room is at the south end of the house and can be cold.

Happy knitting :)

Morning ladies, had a busy day Saturday, market all day, home to make a lemon meringue pie, then get dressed up in 1980s style clothes and head next door (which is actually up the road and in the next street) to a party. Had a darned good evening, and volunteered to go back yesterday morning to help my friend clear up, but when I messaged her and said I'd be there in half an hour, so messaged back that she did it all before she went to bed. So instead I went up there for a coffee, stayed for lunch and brought home enough food for our (me and the flatmate) tea.

So far so good with the flatmate. It is quite different having to consider someone else all the time, but he's quite good company and his girlfriend has been round a couple of times and she seems very nice. She called in at the market on Saturday and bought a baby blanket from me as a gift for her niece who has just had a baby and said she will be buying more stuff.

Op shop this morning, snooker tournament this afternoon. I will be knackered by this evening - flatmate can cook tea tonight! He does the dishes too - better still.

Looks like rain isn't far away, so pleased I got a few seedlings planted yesterday and most of the beans I put in have popped up (this is the third lot, first two lots drowned and rotted).

Have decided to make another Amish flower puzzle ball, so busy doing the wedges for that. Realised that I had put the tail on my pukeko backwards and it looked more like a fish tail, so had to carefully unpick the stitching and re-stitch it.

Have a super day everyone.

Morning everyone
We had the sun yesterday too Kiwimade.. was nice for a change lol.

Glad things are working good for you and the flatmate Kuaka. I decided a long time ago its not an option for me. Cos I end up being too soft and end up being the one that does everything. I did the same when we had our Nephews living with us and my friend son.
But I may change my mind after Ive had "me" time. Ive only ever lived on my own for about 6 months, so I think some is due eventually.

I am aching all over, dont know if it was the gardening or just over doing things in general. So a quiet day on the hook today. I have a couple of squares to do and thatsd three rows. I will sit and do the ends too.

Have a fab day everyone.. And Good Luck for the Snooker Kuaka

morning ladies :) We're off to Bunnings this morning to price the timber MrK needs to build the ramp and I want to look at a new furniture shop I spotted the other day for when we do our bedroom up.

I'm still pottering about with pieces of crochet for an extra blanket but need a colour to pull it all together. Will think about that as I do more. I have this idea in the back of my mind, it's still not all there yet if you know what I'm trying to say. I suspect this will be more 'freeform' than anything else lol.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Another sunny day, it got quite warm in the afternooon yesterday. Back to having the curtains shut on the end of the lounge / ranchslider and the front one when it hits my chair about 3pmish.

I had a nice rest yesterday. Got all the ends sewn in on the 3 rows worth. And even got three more squares done last night while watching George Clark.. Gotta like that man lol.

Today is a few dishes and I will work on my squares again. Yes sunflower they are for a blanket for "My Boy". He doesnt know hes getting it so Im not mentioning it on FB. My boy is one of MrP's nephews who came to live with us when he did stupid things when he was a teenager. With our help and some councelling he has turned into a lovely Man and dad of 4 girls.

I call him My Boy and he always will be, even tho he is only 7 years younger than me. And god help anyone who tries to speak no good of him. Im like a mother lion, no one bags my Boy and gets away with it.

Right a quick play on here and then back to work lol.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning ladies, a busy day yesterday, went to the club early to play in the tournament but one of the opposition didn't show up. He was supposed to be there at 3 to play a billiards tournament, but didn't show for that, and didn't show for the snooker at 4, so his partner said "we forfeit the match and you guys go through" so we are through to the next round without playing, which is a bit disappointing, but that's how it works.

I stayed on and had a couple of frames of snooker, and caught up with a friend who has been overseas for months, and then came home to a lovely meal cooked by the flatmate. Chicken drumsticks, baked potatoes and veg. And then he did the dishes. I am starting to quite like this situation.

I have a parcel to wrap this morning. Sold something on here and the lady said she would pick it up at the weekend. Said she would "come across" on Saturday - she's in south Auckland and thought I was in Piha. So when I told her I'm in the Bay of Islands, she decided I could post it.

Then mah jong this afternoon. Might see if the flatmate will make pasta for tonights tea.

Have a super day everyone.

Kuaka do you find you are sleeping better knowing there is someone in the house?

Was thinking about it last night for some reason .

Afternoon
It’s a beautiful day and quite warm. When I got into my car after Mainly Music it was 31oC! Think summer has hit, I’m not complaining.
Busy session at Mainly Music usually there is about 35 children plus caters but today we had 53 children - all preschoolers so a bit noisy at times but happy noise which is lovely.

You seem to have picked a great flat mate Kuaka.

Still full on at the factory with our big order - it’s a bit of a challenge but think we will do it. Went out 7am to empty and refill the drier and it was just perfect then almost wished I could have stayed and enjoyed the peace.

Off now to plant out some tomatoe plants. The ones I planted a couple of weeks ago are already flowering which seems quite quick.

Good afternoon yes it is a stunning day - no dog park today - went for a meal at one of my neighbors - she served seafood chowder it was beautiful but my foot is aglow and no way would it tolerate a shoe - so one sulking dog
I will have a boarder for 2 months from the end of this month - my 16 year old granddaughter from Dunedin is coming up to work for her uncle - she has had school holiday jobs in cafes since she was 13 but she wants to learn to be a barista before she goes to uni as it will give her more options with part time jobs while studying. So many people are wanting accomodation here in March Neil Diamond and Horse of the Year are on at the same time - I have two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs but it would have to be doggy people as Ash sleeps inside - I can shut him off from upstairs but his bed is part of the lounge furniture
I bought some lettuce and tomato plants to do my on the wall palllett garden - I have half a bag if potting mix left over from last year - have absolutely no idea about gardening will it still be OK I wonder - after my battery debacle last week trying not to be needy so instead of asking Robie to bring me some round might just risk using the old
I have nothing on the hook or needles - going through a real lazy patch

Gerry the potting mix should be ok to use. Just get some tomatoe plant food from the garden centre if you are worried. Enjoy the rest of your day. Cheers.

morning ladies :) Go for it Gerry, that potting mix will be fine. Mix in a few sheep pellets if you are worried, you can't over fertilise using them. Would love to see pics of your pellet garden too sometime.

I heard and saw frogs while out walking yesterday for the first time in years and it had to be the day I didn't have my camera. So I will just have to go back and hope I see them again.

Groceries today and maybe a trip to Spotlight.

Happy knitting :)

Good Morming Ladies. Another great day weather wise here today. Have to get in and get some housework done today . Got behind as I was spending alot of time outside in the gardens the last week or so.. Cleaned the driveway of weeds. Washed windows and two sides of the house
.Need to paint the paintwork next. My cuz is coming down hopefully before Christmas so may get him on the end of a paintbrush. He bringing his toolbox down with him.

Started a baby blanket yesterday at K & N and played around with it last night. 12ply knitting on 5.5 . Tried 6.0 I think I need to go to 6.5. Look at it again later. today/night.It's a baby blanket with garter stitch borders and stocking stitch in the centre.

All best in the next round in the tourment Kuaku. Yes! its lovely to have someone else cook a meal and wash up afterwards.
Time to move a load of washing waiting for me and I need hang it out and off line again by midday as our lawns get cut today.
Hope everyone has a Great Day.
Happy Knitting!!

Monring everyone
A bit grey here but certainly not cold.

Kiwimade I know its probably thw wrong time, but do you think it would kill a little rose bush if I moved it into a pot.? The poor thing has never done any good in the garden out the front and now the big yellow/green bushy plant thing the Lanlord got is also taking it over. The other one is alot bigger and will cope, but this wee one has struggled all its time out there.

I havent heard frogs for years either. We may have beach on two sides but no pondy type rivers with fresh water.

Lots of kids out for halloween last night, but we iddnt get a single knock which was good.. Might get into it again next year.

Did 7 squares yesterday so very pleased.

Night try and do a little of the weeding out the front if my crinkles work themselves out. Madam Missy slept on top of me last night. How a little 3-4 kilo cat can make me end up on my back beats me lol.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning ladies, I'm feeling quite weary this morning.

Had a lovely afternoon at mah jong yesterday, came home and watched the flatmate make fresh pasta (and it is so much nicer than the bought stuff) I think when he moves out I will have to buy a pasta machine. I made a sauce and cooked some veg for it, and we had a small salad with it too. Very tasty.

I don't seem to have done much knitting or watched much tv since he moved in, we just seem to sit and chat of an evening. Last night (no idea what the time was) the doorbell went and the neighbours (friends) invaded us with drinks, chocolate and glitter and we had a very impromptu and very brief but noisy party. They were all dressed in black with black make up and the spread glitter all round the place. It's all I've done since I've been up is sweep and vacuum up glitter. It was good fun though.

Must get ready now and go to knit and natter, and then our monthly "bunny club lunch" (first Wednesday of the month) which just happens to be at the same cafe where we have the knit and natter. Then this evening I'm out to the op shop fashion parade, which is always fun.

Have an awesome day everyone.
