I reckon you can never have too much wool either

Morning ladies,

It's a very grey, drab sort of day today and not exactly "spring-like" more like winter if you ask me. Honestly I am so over this inclement weather. What has happened to spring?

Made a list yesterday of the things I want to make before the next cruise ship market on the 12th. Not sure how I'll go, but I will give it my best shot.

I did two of the lawns yesterday (that's not as impressive as it sounds, as they are the size of postage stamps) and weeded around the base of the apple and plum trees, and I told the plum trees that if they don't produce this season, they are history. No idea mind, how I would get rid of them - Paul maybe on his next visit?

No plans for today, might go shopping, might do the sewing I didn't do the other day, might try to sort out a shelf full of stuff - most of which I probably don't need. Might sort through my clothes and see what I don't need as I seem to have far too much. Choices.

Well I suppose I should make a start.

Have a super day everyone.

morning ladies :) Good to hear your INR is settling back down popeye, it took years for MrK's to be 'normal' after he had surgery. Those iron jabs really do do the trick.

We have that elusive yellow ball in the sky for a bit this morning so I'll get out and mow the lawn while I can.

Daughter phoned yesterday, they have a sheep for us so will drop it to our butcher on Tuesday then call in for lunch with the kids. It's a swap for the oak draws I found at the op shop lol. I don't think the draws will fit in her car as she won't be able to lie the back seats down with the kids car seats there. So we will take it to her probably next week.

The couple who dropped the oak draws off to the op shop called in to see us the other day and had the outter frame of an old church organ. MrK is busy pulling it carefully apart as there are lots of carved pieces. He has loads of ideas floating round for what he can use the timber for, it's American Oak he thinks. They also gave us the seat that goes with it and once our porch is fully lined and tiled and the door has the glass put in, we will use it there. He is in his happy place :)

This runner is going to take a while but that's ok. It's a good 'pick-up-put-down project.

Happy knitting :)

Morning all - today would have been our 50th wedding anniversary- my Dad had a friend in Taupo who owned a garage - I was 18 had finished my uni degree - I went up there to work to help them out in the holidays and met this cheeky 16 year old spare parts apprentice who was supposed to teach me to drive - we were married 4 years later - the plan was no children but thank goodness that plan went wrong -both my boys are overseas at the moment I know kit sounds unsociable but have told my siblings and friends just want to go to have the day to myself

Good Morning Everyone. Yes,kiwimade we have a yellow ball in our sky as well this morning. Fresh home kill meat. My mouth is watering. Enjoy!

Washing out and an hour plus in the garden slowly getting there. Have the offer of fruit boxes if I want them for a veggie garden. One may be a strawberry/herb bed.Have been talking about raised beds for sometime. So while out there in the gardens I was planing where they would go in my mind. The guys are not getting there way on this one.

You will get your list of knitting, sewing done for the next market day Kauku
Gerry enjoy yourself with what every you plan to do today.

Everyone do something you have been wanting to do for sometime today and enjoy it.

Afternoon everyone.

We have that Glow here too, still cloud about tho And we had a shower earlier.
We have been up since 5-30. I wanted to do a big bake.. And Last night I was given a couple of those 220 litre blue big containers from a couple on a farm, and I bartered them for some baking.
So 3.25 blocks of butter later I have 210 biscuits, choc chip peanut brownies, shortbread, spice biscuits and normal cho chip bikkies. And two large fruit cakes in the oven which Im still basting with golden syrup to make the cherries and almonds stick.

Ive also been up the road to get more butter and a few things at the supermarket. And picked up another of the containers but this one had been cut in half, with holes in the bottom and handles on already. So now I have what will be raised gardens. Yay.

And we will pop out once the cakes are done and check out the extention at the recycle centre.

Thinking of you on your Anniversary Gerry. I knew a lady In Mangakino who always celebrated her wedding anniversary even tho her hubby had passed many years before.. she said there wasnt a divorce so she was still married in her book.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) What a stunning day we had yesterday and today it's the complete opposite.

I hope you got through you day yesterday, Gerry, without too many tears.

We have my family visiting today, my sister is bringing her wee granddaughter with her so all sharp and pointy things need to be put away. No crochet until they have gone.

Better get moving, want to run the vacuum over the floor before they get here and maybe throw a batch of muffins in the oven.

Happy knitting :)

Morning
Lovely you have such happy memories to lean on Gerry - still hard at times I realise but no doubt memories can help.
You sure are a great baker Popeye, I only bake when I really need to it's not my most favourite past time unless I really am in the mood for doing it.

Was out all am yesterday came home planning to spray the little peach trees as getting a bit of curly leaf and down came the rain. No complaints as have been wanting a bit of decent rain for a while So spring cleaned the bathroom instead.
Having a "no plans" day today will just do what I feel like when I think of it. Don't manage one of these often it seems so enjoy just pottering around.

Will of course fit in some craft.
Enjoy your day

Morning everyone,
Well thats the Gardening cancelled for today. So Ill let MrP sleep. He did more standing yesterday than he had done in months and it showed last night.
I really enjoy baking, its like a rest for me.. Have to wrap the fruit cakes and get my friend to come and pick hers up. I dont have room in the freezer for both of them .
A general tidy up here, and do the rubbish and recycles and that will be about it today.
I dont have any craft on the go so will try and think of something to do. I dont want my figners starting to ache lol.

Have a fab day all

Well done on the baking popeye, you're like me, I have the trays continuously in the oven. Interesting you said in your post over in General MrP mixes by hand. I do that occasionally when I need to crumble the butter and it certainly works.

Housework is all done, wasn't going to but once I started it made sense to keep going. MrK is measuring up the porch so he can work out how much lining we need for it. He's on a 'roll' now with the house stuff. I think having the builder here putting the weatherboards on gave him the incentive to carry on. He also said he learned lots from being the builders labourer. Just shows, you are never too old to learn.

Am expecting my sister to turn up soon but I might be able to sneak a few rows of crochet in before she arrives.

Good Morning Everyone . Spend a couple of hours in the flower garden this morning as I was not sure about the weather today.Great to see all the new self sown plants do so well. One garden is not looking good, but will once the spring bulbs die down. Just may left them. Gave a two large plastic bags of bulbs away the other day that have not been planted and still another that I will put in the ground for next spring.
Sun out washing again on the line....

Hope you had a lovely day Gerry yesterday. Was thinking of you.
Oh popeye you can come and do some baking for me. I have a fruit cake in the freezer for Mr S Birthday that just before Christmas. I make my Christmas Cake late Oct. Pudding at the same time.

Have a great day everyone and take sometime out for yourself.

sunflowers28 - 2017-10-01 11:21:00
12711

Yep Kiwimade, the hand is the best mixer especially if its MrP's lol.

I try and get my christmas baking done before it gets too hot to be in the kitchen.
Once I started I was on a roll too Kiiwmade.. Did the mountain of dishes, did rubbish, recycle and greenwaste. A load of washing is in the dryer, Biscuits have been packed and in the freezer. With some more condensing I have an empty drawer in there for our Cake.
New World has chicken pieces on special again this week, $6-99. so I hope to make room for a couple of those, and supervalue has hellers sausages on special, so want some of those.. and I would bet Mad Butcher will have pork. Which is what I really want. lol.. Might have to ship some more buns around lol.

A Play on here for a while now.

morning ladies :) We had heavy rain and wind for most of last night, hopefully the worst is over. We are so over all this rain.

I have a couple of things to do in town, the car needs to go through a car wash and be vacuumed out. The car wash has a vacuum cleaner $2 for three minutes and it saves me lugging ours outside and hooking up extension cords. I can whizz round our car with seconds to spare.

I need to get out into the garden, will see how things pan out today weather wise.

The runner is slowly growing, it's a pretty simple pattern but I like simple at the moment.

Happy knitting :)

Morning ladies, kiwimade, you're not the only one who is sick of the rain. Yesterday the weather changed about every 15 minutes. Sunshine one minute, heavy rain the next, and when I woke this morning to the sound of heavy rain, I groaned, but although the sky looks very grey and bleak, (it actually looks like it used to when I lived in England and it was about to snow!) the sun has just disappeared, so I think we are in for another downpour.

Work at the op shop this morning, and this evening I am playing in a snooker tournament, so wish me luck ladies - I will certainly need it. So yesterday I spent some time practicing on the table at home, and then I got stuck in and emptied out a china cabinet and polished it and put it on the local noticeboard on fb. I am trying so hard now to declutter and get the house the way I want it, but it is slow going.

I managed some knitting last night before falling asleep. Doubt I'll get much done today.

Try to have a super day despite this rotten weather.

Morning everyone

Its still very windy here. And couple that with recycle bins,, theres council guys going around standing them up and putting the stuff back in. Ive stood ours up twice already. I didnt put it out on the street until this morning, cos I knew they would go over.

I have rhubarb on this morning. Im trying to compact the freezers even more. And Ill pop the rhubarb into containers and freeze then take them out and bag it up. Being a normal shape it will take less room. I still have another huge bag of it to cook too.

Nothing on the hook at the mo. But Ill see what I feel like doing today.

Have a fab day everyone and be careful in this wind

I'm just home from the club - walking on air - won 2 out of 3 frames tonight, so we are through to the next round. We won the first frame, lost the second, so it was down to the wire on the third. I potted a really nice pink to put us back in the running, then the opposition "went in off" on the black - so all over rover.

Even if we don't get any further, I'm happy that we didn't get thrashed in the first round. Yay.

morning ladies :) Well done on the snooker kuaka!

My cousin and his wife are in Las Vegas and were heading towards the shooting when it all happened. Thank goodness they are ok. FB put that emergency thingy up where people can say where they are and my cousin posted as soon as he could.

Hair cut for me this morning so better get moving, my appointment is at 9.00am.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone

The wind has gone yay

Well Done Kuaka,,, makes you feel good doesn it.

I nearly had a massive boil over on the rhubarb yesterday, thanfully I went and checked it when I did. the lid was just lifting. Would have been a hell of a mess. But we have 9 contaiiiners of it in the freezer now. will bag them up later to take up less space.

My friend came and got her cake and fruit mince pies, so I have a little more room with one less ice cream container in the freezer.

Off to our podiatry appointments this morning, and will grab a couple of things at the supermarket that we need before Thursday.

I need to find something to make, my fingers are complaining of lack of use.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning
Good on you Kuaka, your practice payed off. How terrible about the Las Vegas shootings what a relief that your cousin and wife are ok Kiwimade.

First lit of washing done but too late to get recycling out - they usually come late am but the truck roared up the street before 7.30am today, think it will have caught out quite a few people.

Want to attack weeds today and just might get to the dump but that will be a wait and see.
Gradually getting through my sock wool - have 5 more lots waiting so quite a bit of knitting yet. Went past the wool shop yesterday while waiting for someone but managed (with quite a lot of effort) not to go in! Lol.

Washing machine finished so better put in the next lot.
Enjoy your day

Morning ladies,

I made the mistake of going to bed early 'cos I was tired, so of course was awake between 3 and 5am before finally dozing off again.

Doctors appointment at 11.15 and then mah jong this afternoon. My friend who helps me run it is away in Hong Kong for 3 weeks, so it's down to me again, and I see the person rostered on for afternoon tea hasn't played for months so I guess I'll be doing that too - I will take the milk anyway, I'll enlist the help of someone else to do the dishes.

I will have to try to do some more snooker practice this week as I think we are playing in the next round next Monday.

OMG popeye, that would have been a mess and a half to clear up if the rhubarb boiled over. I can just imagine. You would have said "golly gosh, what a nuisance!"

Meantime I'd better get my a into g and have some breakfast. I want to call in and see a friend before going to the doctor, apparently she's feeling a bit down, so I'll see if I can cheer her up a bit.

I will take some knitting with me to the doctor in case I have to wait - it's very unusual if I go in without having to wait.

Have a super day everyone.

Good Morning Ladies. Sunny day here and lots to do Vac Cleaner stopped never to go again. Have to have a look around for one over next day or so. It was good one . We shipped it back from England with us as it was so new at the time.
Mr S has Doctor appointment this morning and will get some results. Fingers crossed the Rest Home still has a bed for him. Sure need this break. So over washing everyday.

Good playing Kuaku. All the best for next Monday night.
Yes ! we use it too when things happen in around England to see if everyone OK. Glad they are OK and used it as well Kiwimade.
That a lot of rhubarb to be cooking up Popeye.

To tried to pick up my needles last night, maybe have more time over the next week or so. We will see.
Have a great day everyone

sunflowers28 - 2017-10-03 09:27:00

popeye, I freeze rhubarb raw, just cut it into pieces, wipe it clean, throw it into a zip lock bag and freeze. Then when I need it, I take out what I need and cook it (or roast it!).

kiwimade64 - 2017-10-03 16:28:00
12723

Yeah it was frozen Kiwimade, but I had three big zip lock bags full. So once I take it out of the containers it will only take up the space that one bag took.
Ive never heard of roasted rhubarb...

The podiatrist told me today I need to be wearing socks. Cos of the numbness I have in my feet and she couldnt get over how cold my feet were. Ive never been a sock wearer, so Ill have to get it into my head that even tho my feet are hot they need to be in socks.. So Ive put in an order for sock wool from Turkey. They have some pretty colours.

popeye333 - 2017-10-03 19:07:00
12724

morning ladies :) yep, I roast rhubarb and strawberries too.... drizzle a little balsamic vinegar and honey over the berries... oh yumm! The rhubarb holds it's shape when roasted but you can mash it if you want.

I wear socks all the time but then I'm in gumboots when out in the garden and walking shoes other times.

Thought I would share this pic I took of a tui when out and about yesterday. There were lots of tui hanging around the kowhai trees. They are quite acrobatic when trying to get at the nectar! Bit like me trying to get the last of the wine out of the bottle :P

https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/653756317.jpg

Our daughter and grandies visited yesterday after dropping the sheep off to the butcher. Our grandson has grown in the week since we saw him last and finally has the tooth cut he was grumpy about. He will be one next week!

Happy knitting :)

Morning
Woken by very loud alarm 1.30am - Civil Defence testing alarm system apparently it was a mistake but reassuring that if really needed it would wake me - even if die of fright in the process lol.

Beautiful day weather wise. Had a great day in the garden yesterday and took a large load to the green waste place despite my back complaining about having to bend and lift! Aquarobics last evening helped loosen it up a
bit.

Use natural fibres for your socks Popeye, they help maintain temperature without the wearer noticing and also control sweating so don't go smelly so quickly!

Enjoy your day

Morning everyone
A beautiful photo Kiwimade.. Wow it doesnt seem a year since Micheal arrived.
I tried balsamic vinegar once and it wasnt nice to me.. For me to try it was a bit step lol.. Being so fussy. But it does sound interesting roasting the berries and rhubarb.

Yep Jayemtoo I ordered wool nylon mix. Ive been having to buy it for my sister in law for years. Once it arrives Im going to ask her if she wants to knit for wool. Cos shes an avid sock knitter. And cos this wool company doesnt sell single balls I end up with packs of four. So I could get 6 pairs of socks done and she can have 6 balls of wool. Even with postage it works out to being $5-50 a ball so alot cheaper than buying it here in NZ.

I really need to find something to inspire me to get back on my hook. Im missing crochet and dont feel like Im using my time productively.

just a little question for this amazingly long thread :-) I have many sheep and shear them regularly. Their beautiful wool seems always to have gone to the dump because no-one really wants it ! (*sobs quietly*). I have a little flock of beautiful Wiltshire sheep and some young'uns who are Arapawa with the most beautiful native chocolate-coloured wool, finer than merino. When I advertised it, I got zero replies! Where do you suggest I advertise my wool? It's quite raw but clean and lovely colours. I HATE sending this exquisite natural product to the dump or to my offal pit, which is where it's going. Any suggestions welcome!!!

If I had the time I would love to buy your wool and either felt it or dye and weave with it. I suggest you go to www.creativefibre.co.nz and check out the clubs nearby and make contact. If they are having groups meetings or Spin ins see if you can have stall sell your wool . PS Can you please put up a photo of your coloured wool please in this thread. Thank you.

morning ladies :) omg cameron-albany, I can't believe no one wants it! Makes me wish I hadn't sold my spinning wheel :( but sunflowers has some great ideas.

Another rainy day by the looks of it. I'm visiting dad today and want to spray for weeds and moss. Guess I'll have to put the spraying on hold.
I need to weed and spray for moss in our garden too so might get out tomorrow regardless of the weather. Otherwise I'll have a huge cleanup to do.

No Yin Yoga for two weeks and I miss it already. Will have to get my mat out and practice at home.

At least there will be time for some crochet today.

Morning all - chilly start to the day after a really warm day yesterday - forecast is for rain and it's not too far away
Cameron Albany - these are two Facebook groups I belong to that might be a good start for you NZ Art Yarn Sales and NZ yarn destashers - I agree it is such a waste and am sure somebody on either of these groups could be interested
Love the photo kiwimade - our birds were one of the many things I missed in Oz - the birds over there are so strident compared with ours - 50 of so of those big white cockatoo used to come into one of our big trees - spectacular but what a racket
Two rows to go on my blanket - maybe today as it had just started raining I might pick up the hook
My nieces baby is now double her birth weight - nearly 6lb - has started being tested and has ticked the first scary box she is not blind which was the biggest concern - so if they can get her off the feeding tube this week she could be home very soon - amazing really - she was 3 months prem

Morning
Lovely photo Kiwimade - such NZ icons.
Makes you want to cry thinking of wool going to waste - almost makes me want to take up spinning but have enough projects on the go already unfortunately. Some good ideas on here as to start looking at Cameron-Albany.
Pottering around this am as appointment in town soon so breaks up the morning. Was hoping to sort out bit more of garden this pm but weather not looking the best could be good excuse for staying inside crafting.
Fortunately our aquarobics continue during the holidays as I found it really helped my stiffness from gardening on Tuesday.

So lovely to hear that the baby is progressing well Gerry.

Morning Ladies from Overcast Day in Napier after having a great sunny day.
Hope cameron-albany makes contact with Creative Fibre. Yes Kiwimade it would spin up lovely and soft. I have a spinning wheel collecting dust at present. A lot of people want clean washed fibre these days. Great picture.Could do a lot with it. Christmas Cards....
Gerry so pleased to hear your niece is doing well.Blind is a scary. All best.

Tuesday evening had two fruit bins dropped off to turn into veggie/herb gardens. So had a play around to see where they will go. Off later today to order some garden mix.

Not sure what today going to turn out for me at present. Mr S is not up and I am heading off to the Gym shortly, then home and if fine will go on cleaning up around the bulb and other flower gardens.
Have a great day everyone.

Dad's garden is done :) My nephew had done a fair bit of it so not much for me to do. Groceries bought and a quick trip to Spotlight to buy more thread.

Morning everyone,

A busy day for you Kiwimade. Our new lawn mowing man has been a no show, so far. But Ill put that down to the weather.

Well I came up with an idea for a blanket yesterday but its kept me awake most of the night. The graph I want to do will make it being a 4 metre square blanket and thats wayyy to big for anything. So have tried to decide what to do now.

My fingers are starting to sieze up so I need to find something to do today thats for sure.

Morning ladies, It looks like a reasonable sort of day today, sunny and a light breeze, a bit of cloud but not overcast, so today I plan to do some of the lawns and put some more beans in because the ones I sowed over two weeks ago haven't come up. I suspect they drowned and rotted with all the heavy rain we had. Whether I get it all done is another question seeing as I've been awake nearly all night again. That's three nights running this week so I am starting to feel a bit like a zombie.

I'm making progress with the pukeko I'm knitting but that's about all, I haven't tackled anything else on the list of things I want to make by Thursday next week.

One of the neighbours had a pot luck dinner planned for tomorrow but has postponed it because half the people she invited couldn't come.

I've started spring cleaning and also going through my wardrobe and taking out things that either no longer fit (some are too big, some too small) and things that I haven't worn all winter - I will take it all to the op shop. I suppose I should also deal with the rest of Mr Ks things, I have been putting it off for too long and feel I really need to do it soon.

4 metres square would be huge popeye - hopefully you can cut the pattern down - if it's squares maybe just do less rounds on each square.

Have a super day everyone.

I'm sure inspiration will hit you soon Popeye, frustrating when not knowing what to make.

Have some Litter deliveries to do this am then should get into garden again there always seems to be something that can be done there it seems.

Knitting a beanie to go with latest lot of little socks, the baby won't get lost in the dark in this lot as the wool is a rather bright yellow/orange. Also been knitting bigger socks as Niece's family into skiiing so they will be ready for next winter nothing like getting ahead but want to use up my sock wool and they will be Christmas presents as well.

Enjoy your day

morning ladies :) Thanks for that sunflowers, I'll take a look.

Spent yesterday finishing off a garden edging. It's been bugging me for a while that the garden edge just began with no defined beginning. And now that MrK has taken out the ornamental grapevine I had room to move and build it all up. So I moved some concrete fill we have in a corner (slowly getting rid of that too!) and built the edging. Even MrK was impressed lol.

The runner is slowly getting bigger, I'm finding the cotton is irritating a small patch of eczema as I crochet so it's a stop-start project.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone,
A grey wet day here. In one way Im pleased to have. Cos I have a lung full of pollen from yesterday and have been ciughing my rattly lungs out.

I played with wool yesterday and have all but sorted the colours out. the orange I had chosen is a little thicker than the rest so Ill have to get a different one from the cupboard. The green works at a pinch, it can be stretched a bit when joining and Im sure it wont be noticed.

Have to nip up the road for a couple of things then Ill sit and crochet, and catch up on some recorded tv.

Yesterday we watched a couple of Kiwi movies, Hunt for the Wilderpeople and Mahana. And I caught half of the redo of Goodbye pork pie. I enjoyed them all.

Have a fab day in what ever you do today

Morning ladies, another sleepless night, well I woke at 2.30 and that was it for the night. I doubt I've had more than about 18 hours sleep since this time last week. I am definitely starting to feel more like a piece of chewed string every day.

We had very heavy rain early this morning but when I finally got up it was a lovely sunny day, but now it's overcast and looks like we may get some more wet stuff.

I had to re-sow my beans because they hadn't sprouted and when I dug around I couldn't find anything remotely resembling a bean, they must have drowned and rotted, and a friend told me yesterday that we can expect to pay $20 for a pumpkin next season - well actually there is no way I would pay that sort of money for one. I'll go without instead.

Going to put some plants in the garden - shouldn't take me long - and then I think a relaxing afternoon is called for. I am a bit knackered to say the least.

Have a super day everyone.

Morning everyone,
A rather wet weekend. And alot more due today.

I got a few squares done yesterday while watching recorded tv. And will no doubt get some done later. but I have to get back into my tupperware cupboard. When my friend gave me some of her tupperware it all had cranberry seals, mine are all pearl white, so Ive put a post in a tupperware group on facebook to swap. And have had an enquiry. why i didnt write down what I planned to swap last time I was in there I dont know lol.

Got a couple of new cook books on the courier this morning. A couple of early Jo Seager ones, so will go through those later.

I have to start a 3rd edition of my own Hand written cookbook. I copied my first into a second book, but that is nearly full. If I find recipies I like from other people and off the net I write them in. So I need to start another. but I wont transfer from the second.
I have my Stepgrandmothers book that she started before she married in 1913, and my MIL's book that none of the family know when she started it, but funnily enough the books both have the same cover. I also have a book that was given to my stepgrandmother for her wedding, it has no cover.
The handwritten ones are a list of ingredients and in most cases no instructions lol
And sadly I dont have children to pass mine and those ones onto, Although one of my neices may like the ones from my stepgrandmother. I must ask her.

Anyway Im rambling lol... Have a fab day everyone

Morning all -
So sorry to read about your brother Sunflower - safe travels in this awful weather -
yes it's another wet day here in the Bay - our first cruise ship due in today has been diverted because of high winds forecast this afternoon so it's obviously going to get worse - we haven't been to the dog park now for 3 days because of the weather and I realise now how much I need to get out as well as Ash - it's too easy to fall into that black hole -
Kuaka I am battling sleep deprivation as well - I read somewhere to boil banana skins and drink the juice - didn't work - well I slept about 2 hours - last night as it was raining I went upstairs to sleep thought the rain on the roof might work - but no - so gave in and called my friend who is travelling in Alaska - she had been out to a diner for lunch - whale and puffin were on the menu !
Have 1 and a half rows to go on my blanket - need a decent nights sleep to get my enthusiasm back

Afternoon
Yes we sure aren't used to all this non stop rain.
Safe travels Sunflower so sorry for the loss of your brother and hope your SiL heals quickly.
Sister has her 6 and 4 yr old grandchildren visiting, they came and spent the afternoon with me while Grandma and Mum went shopping. This am we all went to the aquarium to see niece and husband swim with the sharks which they said was great fun to do, we were invited to join them but far too cold for me at this time of the year. The kids loved seeing all the fish, penguins, crocodile etc. The parents are now heading home to Wellington and the children will stay with their Grandparents this week.

I feel like I need a good walk too Gerry but at the moment it would be more like a "swim" the rain is so heavy - perhaps it will ease off a bit later in the meantime I'll keep on knitting!
