I reckon you can never have too much wool either

Morning ladies

I had a busy morning at the op shop yesterday, then yesterday afternoon had a phone call from some chap trying to sell HRV - boy they are persistent - he just would not take "I am not interested" for an answer and in the end I hung up on him, but it really put me in a bad mood. Silly I know.

Went to the club and had 3 frames of snooker, as usual played a few good shots, missed some easy ones and didn't win a frame, but it's all good practice. I'm never going to improve if I don't play.

Lit the fire when I came home because I was cold, cooked and ate my tea, sat in the chair to watch tv and knit and woke at 1.30am. Went to bed and slept till 8 and was only woken then by the pounding of the rain on the roof.

Think I will go into town this morning and cast my vote, need to check the mail and get a couple of things, then mah jong this afternoon.

Maybe tonight I will get some knitting done.

Have a super day everyone.

morning ladies :) It would seem winter is not quite finished with us yet as it is quite cold here this morning.

I have some old prints to take out of their frames today and I'll reuse the frames with photos or embroidery. Framing is so expensive, had a quote to frame a cross stitch for our granddaughter I finished months ago at $180.00. By reusing a frame from a painting I don't like, it will cost me $25 for glass and a backing and MrK will put it all together for me. And the frame is perfect for it, just what I was wanting.

I'm still crocheting the braid I need for the lace embroidery, it's a bit rough and ready as I'm still learning but I think I'm beginning to get into the swing of it. I'm not sure how much I need so will design or find a pattern to work it out sometime today.

Lawns need mowing again so will do that too, edges will need to be trimmed too.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everybody - beautiful morning here no wind and going to be 18 deg so that's good - have had a rough week over something that really was fantastic but Mr G would have loved to be here to share it - my grandson got a special award from his school for outstanding all round sports and academics - best all rounder they have ever had at the school - its very sports orientated so it's something special but then they went on to say all the teachers and other kids appreciate how kind and thoughtful he is towards kids he beats which was the line his grandad would have been the most proud of - the last time I saw him swim he was at the finish line as the next one was just turning at the other end - anyway enough of my rambling
My coloured freesias kiwimade all flowered white - I asked the nephew who "knows" about all things horticultural - they dip the bulbs in chemicals and as the stuff leeches out the colour changes - according to him
I have four rounds left on the blanket - grandson is still dithering about what he wants which actually I don't mind as I could do with doing something different
Well better get cracking the cleaner comes today so better have a quick declutter

Morning everyone
A beautiful day with a cool wind again I think.

Ended up reboiling the jam yesterday and its very yummy. MrP put some on ice cream last night and it was lovely.

Will be hiding in the wool cave today. whiskey13 is doing a memory blanket and ut a cry out for 10 gram nuggets. Im sure I have some for her. And who knows it might inspire me to get something out to do.

MrP is banning me from the kitchen today. Says I need to relax a bit lol.. Working in the kitchen does relax me lol.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) Your grandson did extremely well Gerry, you have every right to be proud of him. And yes, those last comments are the most important comments of all.

Your jam sounds lovely popeye, I could just imagine it on icecream or even drizzled over a fruit tart.

I had a woozy spell yesterday for some reason so the lawns weren't mowed. I did go to Yin Yoga though but my body just didn't cope with the asanas (poses) as well as other weeks so something was 'off'. And of course it's raining again today so I'll mow between the raindrops if I have to or even leave it until tomorrow.

MrK will finish the bookcase today! So all the woodworking gear can be put back out in the garage and I can give the room a good going over and the final lot of books can be shelved. It looks great and fills in an awkward corner of the room. So all that needs doing to finish the room is for me to paint the dressing table (need a few fine days for that) and for me to find something to put on a blank wall and I have something in mind for that.

I realised when crocheting the braid I was twisting it the wrong way, forgot to do the opposite of the instructions lol, the joys of being a leftie. Looks much better now lol. Our son would call that a brain fa**.

happy knitting :)

Morning everyone.
Hope your feeling better today Kiwimade, maybe you had low sugar or BP playing up?

A warm start to the day. I had a deep disturbed night, couldnt get comfortable and my brain wouldnt turn off lol..

Got up and put a piece of hogget in the crockpot. MrP kindly informed me when we had the shanks that he prefers it roast in the oven. But this roast is so I can make alot of gravy and freeze it

Shopping this morning and MrP is actually coming with me.. Hoping he will actually get out of the car and walk some.

I got the wool out for a second grey/yellow/teal cushion yesterday but didnt make a start. Was given a bag of magazines so i was reading those and doing crosswords. I dont buy them cos Im too scroogy for that lol.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning ladies, looks like a nice day today and not so cold.

I don't buy magazines either popeye, it's not really a case of being a scrooge or not, I rarely find the time to read them, and they are overpriced I think.

kiwimade, I hope you are feeling better today. If you're not, I guess a visit to the doc is needed. Don't take chances with your health.

Went to knit and natter yesterday and sewed up a fingerless glove - couldn't find the second one and I know I've knitted it - so it must have disappeared into the black hole that lurks at my place. Still have never found the ear-ring I lost last year and my wedding ring and my mums wedding ring seem to be absent at the moment.

I discovered that the egg cosy I'm knitting to use up some scraps should have been done on 2.75mm needles and of course I've used 3.25mm. It will fit a jumbo egg. I'm not unpicking.

Going to the supermarket this morning for a "small" shop - we'll see how successful that is. I'm very conscious though that I had far too much stuff in the pantry and don't need to buy so much - but I do need a few things.

This afternoon I'm going to a friends to await delivery of a new lounge suite. She works from home except for Thursday afternoons, and you guessed it, Thursday afternoon is the only time they can deliver and she works in town. So I said I'll go and wait for it, I'll take my knitting - not a problem.

Have a super day everyone.

Morning all - it's chilly and bleak - just told Ash no dog park this morning - he is sulking but there you go
Did you find a new ham recipe Popeye? Yesterday my neighbour brought me over sone tamarillo had them on ice cream last night - can't remember the last time I had them - they are good to espalier along a fence Jayemtoo in HB - if you want fruiting trees in your garden -
My friend from Sydney who has a regular market stall is coming for a fleeting visit this weekend I have a feeling she might have another creative joint venture for us for her Xmas trade - I don't think I will be committing myself to anything really - but it's harder to say no face to face than over the phone - she knows that - but it will be lovely to see her
Have a good day everybody - hope you are feeling better kiwimade -

I think it is my blood pressure and the best way for me to deal with that is to loose a few kilos, so I've decided to cut back on portions and no snacking. I don't snack much though so it's no biggie. I have lost weight since doing Yoga but this will hurry it along a bit. Summer is coming so I can go back to walking more and the Furry One will love me even more for that too. I drink lots of water too.

I've been into town as our builder had a pile of rimu window framing for MrK to make into boxes he can gift or sell. So while in town I bought some potting mix for more vegie seedlings.

The weather is just nasty so lunch shortly and then some crochet.

12660

Afternoon
Winter has returned for a few days it seems.
Look after yourself Kiwimade, yes easier not to snack if out of the house I find.
I had a tamarillo a few years ago Gerry but the frost got it - hadn't thought of espalier although not much fence left. I'll see how the mini trees and the bushes I've planted get on.
I don't buy magazines either Popeye - was given 3 at the weekend and had finished them the same afternoon, just didn't seem a lot of reading in them. I think I'll stick to my library books.

Had Mainly Music training yesterday which was interesting and I enjoyed it. Had a different "trainer" from Australia and she was a bit older women and practical. Also good to meet people from other Mainly Musics and sharing ideas.

Also worked out how to prevent the little annoying hole I was getting at the finish of the heel on the little socks so can get on and do more. I think I can get an adult pair, baby pair and a beanie from 100gms wool. But think I will try and work out all sizes from newborn to adult, it's the children ones I haven't worked out yet.

Its been beautiful all day.. The lounge is warm tho.. And of course we had a full on roast lol..

The magazines I was given are New Idea and Thats life's. The new idea is just full of celebrity junk lol.. I enjoy the recipes and puzzles tho.
Thats life has at least a bit more reading..

And thats all I could do this afternoon. I bent over to put MrP's slippers on and my back pinched. Not in its normal spot involving the hips this time. Its up higher sort of at the bottom on my ribs. Its unpinched but it sure hurt when it pinched. Just tender now, and I wont be bending over for a while lol.
Im a bit cross really cos Ive been feeling soo good then it goes and spoils it for me

morning ladies :) Our little road is going to be busier than Queen St today with the primary school inter school cross country on the farm behind us. I'll be blocking our gateway with our car as in the past we have had people parking in front of both entrances so we couldn't leave if we needed too. It was a worry at the time it happened as MrK was very sick as I had called the ambulance a few times so now I don't take chances.

The bookcase is finished and I'm so happy with it. Now for a few fine days in a row please so I can paint the dresser lol.

I've put the braid aside for a bit as it was getting boring and have started a butter cup yellow runner for the dressing table. It's done in motifs but you join as you go so not that bad. It's been a while since I have crocheted a colour other than white in cotton.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone.

We know what you mean when it comes to being parked in Kiwimade. When its calf club day, which I think is next week and the school gala we often used to get parked in. So we park ours in the drive. Calf club is next week and its 3 schools combined at the school across the road so Ill have to get the car out early.
I was in a ratty mood last night. MrP was changing his shoes yesterday and I bent over to unroll a little bit on his slipper and my back pinched again. Higher up this time. It had released but just residual pain left. Was soo annoyed, just when I feel great it goes and reminds me its there. Hence a polite post on FB that wasnt at all what I was thinking lol.

Have to pop up the road , my shop had run out of butter, so its coming in today. And need to put mrPs prescription in too.

Still no crochet. I can see just how time wasting magazines are lol. But I am enjoying the puzzles.

Kiwimade I find working in yellow always cheers me up lol.

Have a fab day everyone

I hope your back is on the mend today popeye :) No butter in your shop? wow! At the price it is here that is a surprise.

Lawns are mowed and just in time for a cuppa lol. MrK has been given some more recycled rimu from some house windows so he is in his extremely happy place today :) It is such a beautiful timber and we are pleased to see it recycled rather than thrown out.

Right-o, kettle has boiled, better tell the old boy his tea is being made lol.

Morning all - breeze has just cone up but it is a beautiful blue sky despite the forecast is for rain -
Yes Korbo back from Oz - would be nice to see you again
Kiwimade have tried to find a beautiful hammer mr G made me for leather work out of our old apricot tree - he worked on it for ages and the grains and colour were stunning - everybody we showed it to were astounded it was aoricit - it is lovely seeing recycled wood being worked into something that will be around for ages -
We are in for a bumpy ride with dairy products - maybe people are stockpiling Popeye that's why your shop ran out - hope it doesn't get like the baby formula
A lady down the road just arrived with a big box of beautiful lemons swapped her for a big bag of dog food Ash wouldn't even look at - so she was pleased as her lemon tree is loaded with fruit and she has rescue dogs so that's a worthwhile swap
Jayemtoo tamarillo are unfortunately frost tender - it's a pity as they are stunning to look at on the vine and so very good for us - expensive at the supermarket
Speaking of dogs have one sitting at my feet with a woeful look on his face - we didn't go yesterday so better head on out to the park in case the rain does come

Yes Kiwimade, I think the word is spreading about the butter. It used to be a fruit shop, but is now a small supermarket type shop.
Its being delivered tonight so Ill go up tomorrow , I wont miss out lol.

Figured out how to describe my back, like a Piano accordian being stretched out then pinching when it is closed up lol. Its not too bad at the mo.

Lol Gerry Madam Missy has certain cat bikkies she has turned her nose up at, so they all get shipped off to others with less fussy cats lol

Morning ladies, up early to go to the craft market today, so here's hoping for a successful day.

Pippi used to only have one jellimeat that she wouldn't eat and it was beef & liver, so I just stopped buying it once I realised that she just wouldn't touch it, now I can add beef & venison to that. She won't even look at it. I bought of box of 12 assorted and there were 3 of them in it. I'll give it to someone else.

I really don't feel like being up yet, I must admit I'm not looking forward to sitting all day in the hall, but needs must. I suppose it's a chance to sit and knit most of the day.

Have a super day everyone.

morning ladies *does the happy dance* the suns out!

We had a cat that would only eat wiskas cat biscuits, I even tried mixing them with a cheaper brand but she picked out the wiskas and left the rest lol. They aren't silly and know what they like.

Housework today, it's a calm, fine day so I suspect Dad will be out an about today as he wants to see what we have been doing around the house while he was in Aussie. So I'll have a tidy up and maybe do some baking 'just in case'.

Tomorrow is our granddaughter's fourth birthday, can't believe she is four! She is getting a new bike from her parents so we bought the helmet. We went to a bike shop to buy it as we felt expertise was needed for this. I also have the frame back with the glass and backing for the fairy cross stitch I did months ago (probably a year ago now) and MrK will put it all together today for me. Cost me the princely sum of $22 rather than the quoted $180 to have it framed. And as a bonus, I no longer have a painting I don't like hanging on the wall lol. I'll post a pic when it's done.

Seeing the sun is out I should be able to start sanding down the dressing table today. If dad turns up, no doubt he will supervise as he was a painter and paper hanger.

Have finished another motif for the runner and it is so easy to join as you go, must remember this method for other projects.

Happy knitting :)

Morning
Not sure what the weather is planning for today. Was lovely and sunny so put in large wash now it's looking more dubious.

Hope your back has recovered Popeye and you have a profitable day at the market Kuaka.
Won't jinx your weather for you Kiwimade by mentioning it after waiting so long for a dry day!
Off to factory this am we are doing a run of pink kitty litter for October breast cancer awareness month. Then to vote this pm not sure if there will be queues this year with all the early voting.
Onto adult socks as a change from baby ones and have finally worked out how to do Judy's magic cast on so as not to have the ridge of the first row on the outside it was rather hit and miss before sometimes I did and sometimes didn't - not that you could really notice it unless looking for it but I knew.

Morning everyone.
A sunny day here but windy. The school is very busy already.

Its also the "Poker Run" for fundraising for the fire service here, so Town will be busy most of the day.

I have to go up and get my butter and a couple of things at the supermarket.

Then I have a mountain of dishes to do and Im going to start decluttering. Its been driving me potty having all this junk and never using it.
And thats including my collection of Childrens Press and Dean and sons kids classic books. Im over having it all looking at me lol..

The back is fine again now thank goodness.

Have a good day at the markets Kuaka, and fun with the sanding.. Jayemtoo pink litter sounds like fun lol.

pink kitty litter lol, love it!

Housework finished and two loads of washing on the line, so good to be able to hang out the washing!

MrK has finished putting together the cross stitch, just in time for our grandy's birthday tomorrow :)

I learned that cast on method jayemtoo, works great and as you say no ridge around the toes. It took me a while to 'twig' to it though and I think it is something I need to practice.

Time to go in and vote, I can do that at the local school just up the road. And I need more rollers for painting.

Afternoon ladies, a better day at the market - not outstanding but it was worth going.

The cross stitch looks awesome kiwimade, and I see what you mean about the frame being "perfect".

Yes, pink kitty litter - who would have thought!

Time to put my feet up and have a cuppa. We had no water for an hour or so at the market, apparently the whole town was without water. No idea what happened, but of course as soon as you know you can't spend a penny or have a cup of tea, that's all you want to do!

Morning everyone

A grey day here, but a nice temp so thats good.

Had a lazy day yesterday. Did my errands up the street and then watched George for 2 hours.. George Clark that is and hes very watchable... mind you so is Tom Selleck, we saw about 20 mins of an old Magnum and he looked rather yummy in his naval suit lol..

Finally started a second cushion , Im hoping I might sell two rather than a single ones.

Kiwimade Im not sure who is travelling but I hope you have a wonderful time for Maddy's birthday.

Yep Kuaka we always want what we cant have lol... Thankfully cos I dont drink hot drinks I always have a bottle of water with me. Glad the market was better for you.

Hi Ladies - Haven't posted for a very long time, but read this thread nearly every day. Had to comment on your cross stitch Kiwimade - it's absolutely breathtaking - the frame sets it off beautifully! Not doing a lot myself at the moment (health issues) but hope to get going again in the near future.
All the best to everyone

12676

morning ladies :) thank you tinybaldone *blushes* it's a French pattern designed by Nimu and part of a series. It didn't take all that long to stitch as it is quite small. This one I stitched on 32 count linen as I wanted the stitching to reflect how tiny the bird and fairy were. And it was just sheer fluke I was dismantling the painting and the cross stitch fitted.

We travelled to our daughter and her family and had a lovely time. Our granddaughter loved her bike even though it wasn't yellow lol. The helmet we bought was a perfect match colourwise and fitted her beautifully. It's fully adjustable and should last her for a few years. Here she is with her dad helping her. The training wheels are on now just until she gets used to peddling and steering without looking down.

And the lamb had to be fed first.
https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/649456048.jpg

I managed to paint half of the draws the other day and am hoping I can do the other half today. Will see how the weather holds out. So frustrating!

I'll keep going with this runner, you are right popeye, yellow does make you smile :)

Happy knitting :)

Morning
What a delightful cross stitch Kiwimade I'm sure that will be something Maddy will treasure always.

Spring is here again. We acknowledged day light saving with fish n chips on the beach last evening and it was really lovely. Quite a lot of people were making the most of the longer evening and great weather.

Have a great day

Thanks jayemtoo... yes, spring is here, I know as I need antihistamines already. It's going to be a long season.

The remaining draws have been sanded down and I have poly filled the holes where the handles were. Just waiting for the filler to harden so I can sand it back lightly and put the stuff on so the paint will stick to any varnish that is left. MrK is pottering in the laundry and putting an extra shelf in the cupboard for me. Slowly getting these wee jobs done around the house, buying a do-up certainly is a challenge.

morning ladies :) Another wet day here so the dressing table won't be finished now until Thursday at the earliest. I did finish painting all the draws though and am very happy with the results. All I need now are the knobs and I've found what I want here on TM.

My eczema is back on my fingers, haven't had it for years now so I'll have to go into town for some primrose oil tablets. They seem to do the trick and clears it up fairly quickly. I had a hole in the kitchen gloves and soapy water got through so I think that is what caused it. I'm usually very careful about soap/detergents.

Will try and do some more crochet today, have a few things to do around the house first though.

Happy knitting :)

Yep heaps of pollen here now too Kiwimade.. Ghastly stuff.

Not good re your excema, I never used to be able to touch dirt my hands would break out.
Ive been out and weeded under the vines, and cut some totally dead parts out. Only took 45 minutes where it used to take alot longer and Id be hobbling by the time I got in.. Not now, I feel good, no pain what so ever. Yayay
Have 10 rounds on the cushion to do. Hope to have it done fairly quickly and will list on here.
Had a tutu with wool and the poly bals yesterday. Winding it on wasnt a good look. So I will end up painting them and using glitter.. will hide in the garage to do that.

Sunflowers....are the Adult Disposable pants of any use. They can be bought at the supermarket in the saniitary pads area and I have known folk wear them also with a pad inside for xtra protection. The hospital also provide them but that takes a while to organise. Broken sleep is awful so hope you get to the gym today.

Sunflower - feel for you - the broken sleep just wears you down - the hospice brought all sorts of incontinence products here - we didn't need them so I sent them all back - Mr G kept pulling his oxygen out of his nose in his sleep and the alarm would wake me - it was just so hard but he would have done it for me - and I agree hope you get away to the gym I realise now my getting away to the dog park saved my sanity when it got really rough - hope the op isn't too far away and things improve

blimey sunflowers, no wonder you're exhausted! Can you arrange some respite care for MrS for a few days? I know what you mean about getting to the gym, getting out and about saves your sanity and gives you some space to yourself. Take care of yourself :)

morning ladies :) Thank you Gerry, was a real stroke of luck! I remember seeing those starched/PVA glued doilies somewhere else, can't think where though. They would be cute with Valentines choccies in them or as a Christmas gift with shortbread or Christmas mince pies.

We're visiting my sister-in-law and her husband today as she needs help with her computer. Then Yin Yoga this evening, hopefully I can manage the asanas (poses) better than last week!

happy knitting :)

I really want to bake, but will have to leave it till Friday since its shopping day tomorrow. I have about 3-4 kilos of glace cherries to use so have been checking out recipes. But when I do bake Ill throw a couple of christmas cakes in the oven at the end too.

Good Morning Everyone.Big thanks to everyone for your kind words. Yes I got to the Gym Class yesterday and went over first thing this morning to do a workout on the new gear that just been in stored late last week.

Doctors this afternoon to arrange respite care. Rest Home he was at before have room and are happy to have him again.
The incontinence nurses from the hospital have been doing their best to supply incontinence products for Mr S. He has the pull-ups at present.
Doctors and nurses are thinking the same thing as me that he had bug / infection over those 6/7 days . He just about back to his own self again.
All I can say is old age is a bugger at times.

Cut out a project bag last night and stitched it up for my blanket knitting. Better than a pillowslip and it keeps everything together.

Gerry I had heaps of crochet doilies when we cleanup my mother's place and picked up more at fairs op shops etc over the years. Stiffen them and filled them with different things. Hair clips ties, sweets, notepaper etc .As a Guide Leader for a number of years and a Teacher Aide the children love coming up with ideas for them.Hope you enjoy your walk at the park with your dog today after the winds yesterday.

You are sure getting on with Christmas Popeye with your knitting and baking. That a lot of glace cherries to use.I will watch this space to what becomes of them.

Hope you enjoy your day away from all theprojects you been doing lately Kiwimade.

Better keep moving as I need to check the plants and let them get some sun Have flower and veggie seeds coming along. More than I can say about my Tomato Plants.

Hope you all have a great day.

Soo pleased you had some Timeout Sunflowers, even a little bit helps doesnt it.

I have surprised myself and finished the crochet of the cushion. Just have the ends and joining it up over the inner to do.

I found a few recipes for the Glace cherries yesterday so will write them out today. I have decided that I will be making a very full of cherries white christmas slice, I think some people call it Christmas snow... The one with rice bubbles milk power icing sugar and kremelta etc..

Gosh when I was looking I came across a recipe that had 500 grams of chocolate in it.. That was even beyond my brain capacity lol.

We have a nice day and have even got windows open on the front of the house for a change. Normally its too windy on that side until mid summer.

Have a fab day everyone

Afternoon ladies, sunflowers remember that the most important person in your life is "you" because unless you take care of yourself, you're no good to anyone and nobody else is going to do it for you! And yes, you need time out and don't feel guilty about taking it. Agreed, old age isn't for cissies.

I had a rough night last night, we had torrential rain which kept me awake, and then I got beyond sleep, and it was after 5 as I was trying to make the effort to get out of bed and greet the day, that I finally dozed off, and slept till just before 9. Even for me, less than 4 hours isn't enough sleep.

I couldn't be bothered going to knit and natter this morning, but if the weather stays fine I might take myself for a walk later.

I should have mowed the lawns yesterday but I was busy making a birthday cake for a friends 80th birthday, and of course now the lawns are too wet to mow. Have to hope there's another day tomorrow or the day after .

I sold a pukeko at the market on Saturday so I'm busy making another one, I have a list of things I want to make before the next market which is 12th Oct. I will have to be pretty determined to get it all done. See how I go.

Have no idea what I'm doing for Christmas but I don't think it will involve much baking or preparation. Christmas tree if I feel like it. Be nice to spend it with the neighbours but they may have family things. I'm not a very Christmassy person, so if I end up spending it on my own, that doesn't bother me.

Must be lunchtime. Have a super afternoon everyone.

Morning
Do hope things are settling down for you Sunflower.
What a lot of cherries to do something with Popeye will make baking interesting though.
Great that you were able to sell your pukeko Kuaka.

Have had a couple of busyish days with the usual things plus extra meetings and appointments. Managed a bit of knitting in between still. Trying spiral socks at the moment not sure if I like them or not but just making little ones to use up bits of wool.

Have an enjoyable day

morning ladies :) That's is a lot of cherries! Must admit though fresh cherries are my favourite summer fruit. They are my Christmas treat.

Spiral socks sound interesting, the colourways would look all 'twisted' and add a bit of fun.

We were in Tauranga yesterday visiting MrK's sister-in-law and her husband. He's on the mend slowly but at least his pelvis is mending. On our way home we called into the Tauriko Pak 'n Save and they were having their first birthday. Picked up three packs of chook legs (with about 8 legs in the pack) for between $2 and $3 each. It must be my week for bargains as I bought a set of draws at the op shop the other day, solid oak, for $30.

Yin Yoga last night was a lot more manageable, I think maybe because I was a bit off colour last week it was difficult. A two week break now for the school holidays then back into it.

MrK suggested I sand the dresser down outside then bring it inside to paint. I have some plastic ground sheeting left over from painting the walls so think I'll do that. At least it will be finished! Hate projects that drag on and on.

I should be able to do some crochet later in the day all going to plan.

happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
I agree with you Kuaka, you have to put yourself first and rest too.. Thats why I ended up in a mess, cos I didnt head my own advice.

You must show us the socks when done Jayemtoo they sound different.

Good thinking on MrK's idea kiwimade, Im like you I tend to get annoyed if things take too long to get done.

I surprised myself yesterday and had the crochet all finished by lunch time. Sewed the ends in after lunch and will join it up later.

Its a lovely day here, I got up earlier cos I have a bit to do this morning. And getting home right at lunchtime means things get rushed. So ill make my start earlier from now on.

Have a fab day everyone

I got the idea for the socks off another thread on here - "child's knitted socks" - then checked them out on Ravelry. They are just tubes and I'm not using a specific pattern, think they will be ok for babies but not sure about no heel shaping for inside shoes.

Morning ladies (just)

I wish my sleeping would settle down into a reasonable sort of pattern. After taking till almost getting up time to get to sleep the night before, last night I went out like a light and didn't wake till after 10 this morning. So it's nearly lunchtime and all I've done so far is had two cups of tea and knitted one piece of wing for another pukeko. Haven't even had breakfast, showered or dressed. I think I'll have bacon and egg and that will do for brunch, then I must mow some lawns if the ground has dried enough.

I went for a 7km walk yesterday afternoon so I think that helped with my sleeping, I was asleep in the chair during the 6 o'clock news!

Well if I don't get cracking I'll never get anything done.

Have a super day everyone.

Morning
Early start today as have to take sister to an eye appointment at hospital in Hastings. She won't be able to drive home after the drops in her eyes.
Bit of a nip I the air but sunny, we never really got the rain that was promised just a bit of drizzle so I'll have to water the garden later.

Yes Kuaka exercise certainly helps with sleep I find. The evenings I go to aquarobics I tend to sleep well.

Better get moving have to be there 8.30, I'll pop in some knitting in case I have to wait a bit although have several things to do over there as well..

Have an enjoyable day All

morning ladies :) Yep, I find I sleep well after my Yoga evenings or when I've had a full day in the garden.

I've finished the painting! *does the happy dance* MrK and I lugged the dresser outside and he cleared a wee space in the garage for me. I was able to paint outside and when it rained, could jiggle it back into the garage. Then the sun came out in the afternoon as I was putting the final coat of paint on :) So today we lug it back inside. Might suggest we try putting it on the sack barrow this time! I am so pleased with the end result, amazing how a few coats of paint can change something. Now to order the knobs on TM, I'll take pics when the knobs arrive and they have been put on. And the old handles suit an old oak sideboard I bought on here a few years ago. The original handles are falling apart so it has been a win-win.

I have a few things to do in town today and I might start looking around for Christmas pressies and start my shopping early.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Its overcast and raining which is sad cos its calf club Day today.. And three schools are combining.. Hope it clears up for them.

I was going to bake this morning, but put that off till tomorrow, as I had a lazy night and didnt bother to join the cushion. It is pinned tho lol. And I need to do MrP's pills.

I have my own little Happy Dance going on too. For the first time since I started taking the iron my INR is in the normal range.. Thank goodness..
And my SIL rang yesterday my Fave BIL has now got 8 stents in, they were doing an echo yesterday to see if they needed to do his valve or not. But they left the catheters in, just in case. So fingers crossed he wont need it.
I got a few more ingredients for baking yesterday so can make something different this time lol..

Have a fab day all

Good Morning Ladies,It's overcast with the sun just showing ,maybe a good day to spend in the gardens.

It's my Doctor's non patient contact day today so just maybe get some results. Also he seeing me on own this pm. We need to go over some tests I have had for my own falls and dizziness I have had over the last few months. Yes ladies it meant I was not driving So my friends if you have blackouts, falls along with dizziness etc see your Doctor you are not by allowed to drive till you are clear for 3 months.

Yesterday took the car to get its WOF which had been over looked. Friend had noticed it on Wed. It passed.

The blanket is coming along slowly. I have a date in my mind that it's to be finished by.
Hope you are able to get your sleep pattern worked out Kuaka. I also sleep better after an hour at the gym or a good walk.
Looking forward to seeing the dresser when it's back in the b/room. Love your bookcase.Mr K did a great job of it. No more books in boxes.
The sun disappeared and I have washing to go out and hopefully a couple of hours in the garden as well.
