I reckon you can never have too much wool either

Morning
That's funny about the tinned soup, I too prefer to make my own fortunately.

So much for cables making a garment grow quicker. Noticed I had twisted a cable the wrong way right in the front and several centimetres back so had to undo all that knitting, I'm knitting in the round so was front, back and sleeves that needed to be undone.

Another lovely day so off outside for a while.

Morning - beautiful morning but a bit chilly -
Yesterday I laid the 2nd blanket I am working on out to take a photo and could see a glaring mistake way back at row 30 - tried to tell myself no body would notice it but couldn't - I was up to row 62 which took 4 hours so I think maybe two weeks of crochet disappeared last night - it's my Mums fault she taught us you never ignore a mistake
I used to do water aerobics in Bathurst loved it - my DIL had yoga classes for her office staff at work at first people were very wary now the instructor just about has a full time job there as so many are finding it worthwhile from all departments
The weeks are flying -

Morning everyone
We have a real pea soup this morning, taking its time to lift too.

Moss can be soo dangerous Kiwimade so Im sure your dad will appreciate what you do for him.

Ohh NOOOO Jayemtoo and Gerry... oh that would make me cry, so much work to undo.

Im enjoying doing my stretches, this morning was a bit rough cos I ended up sleeping a bit twisted. But Im not going to stop cos it is helping.

When we lived in Taranaki 3 of us larger ladies started our own gym, we all had gym gear not being used so we took it to one of the ladies house cos she had a huge lounge. So we exercised there.. And we lived in our mobile home in a camping ground that haopened to be practically next door from the heated swimming pools and we did aquarobics there.. We loved it.

Have to go do MrP's bloods this morning, and Ill re-do my INR cos thats MIA.. Ill get my scriptn for the iron and vit c suppliments and the shots of B12. Will make an appointment for the nurse to give them to me, but Im hoping I might be able to do them myself. And have all my other meds to pick up too.
Talk about going to rattle lol. But if the extras give me more get up and go Ill be happy with that.

Hopefully some crochet later.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning ladies, we had a real pea souper this morning too, so I made a cup of tea and went back to bed for a while, thinking it would clear by the time I got up. No, it had got even thicker. It has cleared now to a grey day.

I am going to start pulling everything out of the pantry this morning, and lord knows where it's all going to go. I went shopping yesterday and as I started putting it away I thought to myself "now that's a bit silly, I'm emptying the pantry tomorrow", so I left it. Then once it's empty, rip the shelves out, sand the walls and ceiling, and do two coats of paint, before Thursday.

Tomorrow I'm at the op shop in the morning because we are moving to a different location, tomorrow afternoon mah jong at the club. Sunday 10-4 I've signed up for an art class - no idea why, I don't have an artistic bone in my body. Monday morning op shop, then 4pm drinks and nibbles there to say thank you for helping them shift, and then the club for snooker. Tuesday afternoon mah jong. Doesn't give me much time to get two coats of paint on the pantry unless I start today. So I guess for the next week I will be in a glorious muddle with tins of beans all over the place. (Won't be much different to normal - the muddle - not the beans)

If it makes you ladies feel any better, I got halfway down the front of an owl tea cosy (for an order) yesterday and realised I only had rows of 5 shells and it's supposed to be rows of 6 shells. Grrrr. At least it unravels quickly and there's only one stitch to pick up.

Right, look out pantry, here I come!

Have a super day everyone

Morning everyone I just about finished my jobs for today after I hang out the washing

Wheel borrowed 8 loads of firework off the driveway last night and up out at daylight to move another 12 loads. I had ordered a cord of firewood last week and what came off the truck was over 2 cords.. The other party who cord I got didn't want it. He explained to me it would be a week before I would get my wood and was I OK with that.
Because of the wet/cold winter they where rushed off their feet. Also houses that have heat pumps in are quickly replacing them with fireboxes again. The sea air/spray is causing problems with the heat pumps.

Off out for coffee shortly and the rest of my day is my own as Mr S is out at the rest home for the day.He was pickup this morning and will comeback after tea tonight. Mr S has good and bad days. I just have to go with the flow for those days. This is his second visit since we where given 7 days per month.
I have been asked by a friend if I still dye wool and will do some for her. So will get the equipment out and check it. We will do it over the weekend.

O' bugger having to unpick your knitting ladies. It show you love what you are knitting and as Gerry said, " can't a ignore a mistake." We all have had to pull our work undone at sometime..
Popeye glad you getting your self sorted . You feel good in yourself as well.
Have a great day everyone and enjoy this lovely early Spring Day.

morning ladies :) I soo feel for you both Gerry and jayentoo with the unpicking! I'm the queen of unpicking and although it's tough to do it is worth it when you don't see that glaring mistake. Others say to me I can't see it but I instantly 'go to it' whenever I look at my knitting.

Today I plan on finishing weeding the garden and hopefully I can get the lawns mowed before the rain kicks in. We want to go to Tirau today, I want to find something quirky for the top of the bedroom cupboard and MrK wants to have a nosey around.

I ran out of cotton for the doily with one row to go so will buy more cotton when in Hamilton on Tuesday. So back to my knitting I go, was trying to knit last evening but the Furry One was snuggled on my knitting and he looked so cozy and relaxed I didn't have the heart to move him. He is a real sucker for anything soft and snuggly lol.

Happy knitting :)

Morning all chilly start and a promise of rain so crochet is on the agenda - my friend said just embroider a flower over the mistake she thinks I am nuts as it was an awful lot of work that disappeared -
Baby is still fighting - the staff in the hospital are absolutely amazing
Last year my hubby planted s pot of Freisias for mum and me - gave mum hers on her 99th - they are flowering beautifully he would be pleased - at Mums party on Saturday there were 5 of my cousins who have lost their husbands in the last 18 months - mine the oldest at 69 - the others in their 50s or early 60s - my old boy and one other were not cancer - frightening when you think about it -

Morning everyone,
Very overcast here today... My friend is moving this weekend and thankfully she started yesterday. Still the big and downstairs stuff to do today so I hope they rain stays away until she is done.

My stretches and exercises is working, Yay, the left side is feely quite free, the right will take more work, but I cant get out of the chair without looking like a staple now.

I plan to get on my kitchen floor and play in the china.. Not only cos I will enjoy it, but Ill use a dining chair to get up, and while Im there Ill do some good stretches etc.

Ive decided to make myself a hottie cover. Asked the wise ones on FB which yarn would be best. And the answers were, arcyli, wool and cotton.. lol.. some said the wool will felt when it gets wet.. Im thinking when does it get wet? When I fill it I dont let it burp. I do the lid in then dry around it anyway lol.. I have decided Ill use something I got in the yarn lotto.. so will look later.

Yes Gerry Cancer sucks is how I see it. Watching my sister go through breast cancer in her mid 30's was horrible. So its cos of her I make sure I do the mamograms and smears.

Have a good day everyone

morning ladies :) Fingers and everything crossed for the baby Gerry, the Neonatal staff are wonderful aren't they. Cancer has hit our family too, we lost Mum seven years ago to it and I have a cousin who lost an eye to cancer at six weeks old, age is no barrier.

We went to Tirau yesterday as planned and found nothing for the cupboard but did have a very yummy lunch. And I managed to finish weeding the garden and mow the lawn before we left. Looks like I'm back to mowing once a week now.

I knitted a bit more last evening, the Furry One 'helped' by snuggling on the throw again. Every so often he would look up at me as if to say, what, you're knitting it for me anyway lol. Usually while the Fluffy One is staying with us he sleeps on the other couch in the evening with MrK but over the last few evenings he has annoyed the Fluffy One so much (on purpose) she has moved and he takes her place with me.

The kids across the road have lambs for Calf Club and both dogs are fascinated by them. Our boy is eyeing them up as shanks I'm sure of it. So we have to be extra vigilant with gate now.

Happy knitting :)

Morning ladies, well I have been so busy I've not had much time to knit or crochet.

Rain woke me yesterday morning at some stage, and just as I was dozing off again there was an enormous clap of thunder, I'm not kidding, the bed shook. When I spoke to my neighbour she said hers did too, she thought it was an earthquake, and another friend said her windows rattled so much she thought the glass would break. We have had an awful lot of rain.

Well my kitchen/dining room looks like a foodbank with the contents of the pantry piled up on every available flat surface. I've done one coat of paint in the pantry and need to get a second one on before Thursday.

Today I'm out with friends - we signed up for an art class - no idea why, I don't have an artistic bone in my body, but it should be fun. I very much doubt that the Louvre will be wanting to purchase my masterpiece, but I had better get myself ready. We have to take our own lunch and were told to wear warm clothes - sounds like the old building isn't heated. I guess old clothes too as we're using acrylic paints.

Looks like being a nice day today for a change.

Have fun everyone.

Hi Kauka that lot of lighting and thunder yesterday struck a huge old man pine tree and blew it to bits very impressive ,absolutely shattered it in huge matchsticks on a neighboring farm .The power of nature .Was pleased I was in bed and not out in it .Pleased to see the sun today very water logged and wet.

Morning Ladies, Damp still after the rain last night. The sun doing it's best to come out. Washing out and the today my own. May either work on Book Art, Knit or finish dyeing the wool.
My friend does Needle Felting so have been collecting up bites of wool and yarn for her so that will go into the dye pot today.
Visited the local Farmers Market and brought three lots of veggie plants to go in the garden today. Came away with a very large fresh C/flower for $ 3 $6 in the s/market and $3.50 from the veggie store I buy from.

Neonatal staff do wonders these days. So baby is in the best place. gerry. You go little one!
Love stopping at Tirau. Have spend many an hour in Tirau .Our lawns will start getting done weekly now as well.
Kuaku, hope you enjoy your art class. You never know you may go home with your first masterpiece and new friends.

Enjoy your day everyone and do something for yourselves ladies.

Morning all - chilly with more rain threatening I think - heavy rain in the night
I remember one huge thunder storm when we lived in Taupo I thought the mountain had erupted - the whole house shook thought the windows were going to smash - so blimmin scary
No dog park today again I caught my leg on the corner of the car door and it has become a bit messy - so under Drs instructions to keep off it otherwise I will be going in to have antibiotics on a drip so am behaving myself - tried to explain to Ash why we can't go - he is still nagging
That's good your exercises are helping Popeye - nothing like a bit of self help
Very envious of your trip to Tirau kiwimade we used to love stopping there

Morning everyone
All very busy today.. The sun is shining here, windy and I imagine the round about is flooded.

I had such a good day yesterday. Spent two glorious hours playing in the plastic and china cupboards... Have it sorted to make things easy to get what I use the most.

And my back felt weary but not as sore as I thought it might be.

BUT

Got up to the toilet at about 1 am and my whole back and hips have relocked, and it is painful enough to consider going to the hospital, but I know I couldnt stand the pain of getting there.

Im using MrP's walker. And bouncing off walls where I cant use it. I did manage a little sleep in the lazyboy from about 6am.

All my exercises and hard work has flown out the window. Im soo annoyed.

MrP is worried, hes very quiet. He cannot handle me being in intense pain. Missy is riding on the walker with me, shes never done that before. Shes not leaving my side. I woke up with her on my chest.

Its not meant to be hazzadous to your health going to the toilet.. lol..

So Ive enlisted my friend to get me to the drs tomorrow for my B12 shot. Thank goodness she took the extra day off work for moving.
She managed to get everything bar a few outdoor things moved without getting wet.

So have a fab day everyone.. Ill be on here or crocheting. I chose some wool to make me a hottie cover so I might whip that up and finish the blanket later

Morning ladies, looks like being a nice day here, although it feels as though it's still cool.

What a fun day I had yesterday at the art class - can't believe I actually produced something I like enough to hang on the wall!!!! I will definitely go again if there is another class. I can't believe how quickly the time went, I was completely engrossed in what I was doing. We had to introduce ourselves to start with, and a couple of the ladies there were professional artists, I said I hadn't painted since I was at school (50 odd years ago) and was never any good. At one stage I muttered that Mr Thomas would be turning in his grave, and the tutor asked who was Mr Thomas - my art teacher!

Well today I don't have to work in the op shop as the bosses have decided we're going to be closed all week while carpet goes down and they get a sink fitted, but tomorrow I will go in and help for a while to unpack stuff. Today I will put the second coat of paint on the pantry then take the car to get new tyres fitted, do some weeding this afternoon if I still have the energy and inclination, and then go to the club for a while in the hope of playing some snooker.

Try to do some crochet this evening. I have a tea cosy still to finish for an order.

Have a super day everyone.

morning ladies :) Tirau is only 10 minutes from home so it's close and a lovely spot for coffee and an explore. There are some interesting shops too, some I hadn't been in for years.

Popeye, that's not good about your hips and back, glad someone can help you to the docs. And good on you Gerry looking after yourself. The dog will understand and will love you even more when you finally get to the doggy park.

I'm wondering how the art class went yesterday kuaka? Hope you enjoyed it. And that old pine tree being hit by lightening must have been something to see!

I phoned dad in Aussie last night and he is pretty much ready to come home. He will wait for my sister to come home from her holiday though.

We're expecting the builder some time this week to finish the porch. The weather is meant to be good all week so perfect for that. Will be so good to have a door up to weatherproof it all.

I'm beavering away on this throw and almost finished. The Fluffy One figured out last evening why the Furry One was pushing her off the couch lol so now it's a race between them to see who gets there first. They are so funny together.

I found a cross stitch pattern I made online of a waxeye photo I took a couple of years ago. I remember starting it and then putting it down for some reason. It will go perfectly in the done up bedroom so will pick that up again when I have finished the throw and the last row of the doily. I generally stop knitting in the warmer months and switch to hardanger or cross stitch. Might even try something else this summer.

Happy knitting :)

Morning
Sounds like fun Kuaka - you could add an artistic effect to the pantry now!
Ouch Popeye hope everything pops back to normal quickly. And do look after that leg Gerry legs can take a while to heal if been infected Ash will just need to learn patience!

Had an interesting weekend made a birthday cake and took to Hamilton on Saturday for sister's birthday - it was on Friday but cake is welcome a day late. Despite the weather we had a good time and caught up with nephew's family too.
Came home yesterday afternoon planned so as get home in daylight but there was a very nasty accident on Napier Taupo road at 4.20 and I Arrived there 4.40 and already quite a lot of cars waiting. The road reopened just after 8pm and a slow drive into Napier so home after 9pm.
It was raining heavily most of the time so felt for the emergency services (not that I could actually see the crash area). Went for a longish walk while it was still light but didn't get to the end of the line of cars which were still arriving. Then did a jigsaw on iPad to fill in time in the dark as too dark to knit. It was very dark and quiet - except for the rain. Had a dozen raw eggs in the boot but fortunately didn't need to resort to eating them.

Slow start today but it's another nice day so better get going.

Have a good day Everyone

Morning everyone
Glad you enjoyed your art class Kuaka.. I cannot draw or paint to save myself, unless Im copying something. I do like to colour in tho.

A long wait for you Jayemtoo, years ago we were stuck in the Awakino gorge most of a day cos the mail truck had gone off the road into the river. Only we were in our mobile home so mrP had a shave and a cupper and I think i was crocheting.

Still very sore this morning. I slept part of the night in bed and the rest in my chair. Missy seems to understand not to sleep on my legs cos it pulls at my hips. So I wake up with her on my chest. Thank goodness shes a light cat, only about 3.5-4 kgs at the most.

Off for my shot this morning. And if triage isnt too busy Ill ask to see a dr. Theres not really anything else they can do, it just has to unpinch. I am soo pleased I dont work, cos I never know when these things happen.

MrP cooked a simple tea last night, and plain boiled sausages and potatoes have never tasted soo good. I dont remember the last time he cooked.. Possibly when I had my shingles.

I started a hottie cover yesterday but realised the way I was doing it, would mean I would ruin out of wool. So Ive turned it around. Have crochet the two sides together, but will now do some extra rows on the top, then Ill either put a smaller neck on it with a ribbon, or do two tabs and put buttons on it.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning all - bit of a chilly breeze - had to take he rubbish out and it sure was nippy
i opened my front door to find a courier box addressed to me - a lovely new pair of walking shoes - one of my sons told me on the weekend my old walking shoes needed replacing - must admit they had seen better days - can't road test them until my leg is better - the doctor drew a line on my leg with a marker if the red spreads out to the line I have to call 111 - spent all weekend staring at the line!
Well done with the art class Kuaka - it's so refreshing to try something different - I used to love going to Jill Mass dollmaking weekends - wasn't particularly outstanding at making them but loved every minute
Hope you get sorted Popeye - and I bet those sausages and spuds tasted better than Jayemtoos raw eggs would have - that made me chuckle - can remember when we had the motor home getting stuck in a line o traffic on the way to Auckland - my old boy turned the camper into an open home until he could make no more cups of tea as he had no more water and couldn't let anyone else use the loo as the tank was full !
Well the clock says I can finally eat - these antibiotics she has given me I have to wait 4 hours before I can eat or have my milky coffee -actually it is the coffee that I am missing !

gerry64 - 2017-08-21 10:54:00
12520

morning ladies :) Buggar about the car accident jayemtoo, I hope the people involved weren't too badly hurt. We were once in an accident (fatal) and held the traffic up for over four hours while every emergency service you could think of worked to get a driver out of his car. Felt sorry for the traffic as they had already been held up by another accident for an hour. But being part of the accident was quite scary, especially as the kids were young at the time.

Lovely about the shoes Gerry, what a neat surprise! And I'd be staring at that red line too!

I knitted into the wee hours to finish the throw and I'm pleased with it. It's a bit uneven along one side but I think with use it will come right. It's too big to block I think. Just the ends to darn in and then I'll take a pic, hopefully without two little dogs on it. Found them both this morning snuggled on top of it.

I need to buy more crochet cotton to finish the doily and some embroidery fabric as I have no white fabric in my small stash. Doesn't matter as I'm missing some colours so have to buy thread too.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone

A lovely clear sky out there but chilly.

Ohh the sneaky furry fluffy ones Kiwimade, they know what they were after lol.
I am feeling not so tensed up this morning. But wont be over doing it. Will take some meds soon.

Have 3 birthdays today, Sil. friend and neice.. another tomorrow, and the next day..
Going to sit and finish this hottie cover, that I didnt get any done on yesterday. Just too doped up to worry about crochet lol

Morning
It was so cold yesterday - sunny but with a real lazy wind - went through and not around you. Been a frost bit looks like it will be lovely and no wind.

You ladies have been busy - love the throw Kiwimade (saw it on Fb - and your hotty cover came out well too Popeye.
I've started the larger version of the brown jersey I'm knitting for niece's boy. I've adapted another pattern and am happier with the size of this one.

Enjoy your day whatever you are doing ????

jayemtoo - 2017-08-23 07:53:00
12523

morning ladies :) Thanks jayemtoo, am very happy with it. It has been moved onto our bed lol as MrK has claimed it. So I'll have to think of a 'Plan B' for the newly painted room. The Furry One slept on it (no surprises there) until he decided he wanted under the covers. Two more sleeps and the Fluffy One goes home. We are on a countdown.

I've just about finished the doily, three quarters of a row to do before blocking. It should sit nicely on a wooden round table we have and give some protection from the sun.

I have everything sorted for the new cross stitch but while looking at Pintrest (dammm you Pintrest!!! lol) I found some amazing, and I mean amazing, crochet and embroidered laces. So I have a new thing to try this summer. So if I have some time this afternoon I'll have a look on You Tube for some tutorials.

Yoga this evening, I've moved up a level to 'Yin Yoga' where you hold the poses for three minutes *gulp*. Will see how I go.

Happy knitting :)

Morning ladies, it sure feels nippy here this morning and puss didn't want to get up, I struggled to get out of bed without disturbing her, she gave me a really disgruntled look!

Knit and natter this morning, the cafe where we usually meet has reopened following renovations, so it will be the first time we've all got together there for nearly a month. I need to find something to do, might start a wool-eater blanket. I like to have something on the go that I can just pick up and put down when I feel like it.

Kiwimade I used to do yoga years ago and the tutor would always finish the session by having us all stretched out on the floor, flat on our backs for a relaxation session - I nearly always fell asleep. I used to enjoy it though.

The throw is beautiful. I can see why there are so many claims on it.

Have an awesome day everyone.

Morning everyone.
A doozy frost here.. quite chilly but Ill only put the heater on if MrP asks for it.
My bones unpinched yesterday afternoon. Feels soo much better. Just have to be careful for a couple of days. It appears to be getting worse each time it happens.

Yep done my hottie cover. Makes a change rather than hvaing an old teatowel on it.

Will do our pills this morning and back to the blanket in the afternoon.

Nice that MrK has taken possession of the throw Kiwimade. Id like to make MrP a new blanket, but he said he likes the one I made him years ago.

At some stage I need to mend the magic square blanket, found what I assume are moth holes. Have only looked at one quarter of it. Im kinda dreading looking at the rest. I hope I can save it. But I also dont really want to do it, for the moths to get it again. I see no sence in having it tucked away on a cupboard.

Have a fab day everyone

yes kuaka, we have a 'relaxation' session at the end of our class and you just feel soooo good after it. I've noticed my posture has improved and I seem to be moving about 'lightly' if that makes sense. I bet you are looking forward to your coffee morning too.

Well I am cross with myself, I bought the wrong thread for the crochet. It will get used though and won't go astray.

I've been into town and picked up MrK's router he had repaired so he's a happy chappy. Bookcase is coming along nicely albeit slowly.

Hi Kiwimade64- Did you post a photo of your throw on this thread. I think I have missed it and would love to see it. You ladies certainly inspire me with what you all achieve in a day.

Morning ladies:) Sorry about that carton, I posted it on FB, but here it is :)

https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/633932167.jpg

and a closeup :) A few mistakes but I can live with that.
https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/633932223.jpg

I've been having a bit of a tutu with the lace I saw online, it's a combination of crochet and embroidery which really appeals to me. I can see I'll get bored with making the braid though but it is something I can pick up and put down, make a stash of it and use when needed.

One more sleep and the Fluffy One goes home. I'm not sure if she has missed home or not, she is so busy here with our boy. I know she has lost a bit of weight as there has been lots of running round and no treats. I don't buy treats as the Furry One is an odd dog lol and won't eat them. When she jumped through the doggy door she would knock the little buttons and lock it but now she fits through it perfectly.

Had my first Yin Yoga class yesterday and I managed to hold the poses for the four minutes (she said it would be three! lol). Woahhhh I could feel those stretches!

Better get cracking, it's going to be a gorgeous day today.

Morning everyone

A beautiful day with a chilly start.

Love the throw Kiwimade, mistakes make it unique.

Had a warfarin flat battery yesterday, first one in a good while. So didnt get anything done at all really.

Did get a round and a half done on the blanket last night tho. its taking about an hour a round now.

Shopping this morning. And Ill pop into the oppies for jars, they both have sales on today.
Today I feel like Im starting to feel more like myself again. The iron and the vitb12 must be working. At least the iron anyway. so Yay.

A friend brought me in some rolls, a loaf of her banana bread, a jar of lemon honey and a bag of walnuts yesterday.. soo spoilt. We met in the barter group Im in. She has a large brood, 7 kids but she is a bit like me in that she loves to cook, preserve etc. The banana bread was lovely. Im glad I froze half or MrP would have it all gone rather quickly lol

Ill need to bake at some stage cos the walnuts Need to be on afghans lol

Have a fab day everyone

Morning ladies, a bit nippy here again this morning but the sun is shining and I think it has warmed up somewhat, mind you the sun was shining when I got in the shower and when I got out it was pouring with rain, but that didn't last long.

Haven't heard from the builder to confirm that he will be here this afternoon to put the shelves in the pantry. I hope he is. The challenge of searching for a tin of peaches or whatever in amongst the glorious muddle which is spread throughout the kitchen and dining room is wearing a bit thin now.

Have to nip out shortly to post a package, and then I might do some gardening if I'm not being the builders apprentice.

Have a super day everyone.

Oh yes, I've just started a wool eater blanket - I must be mad, I've done several and always get fed up with them towards the end!

thank you and you're welcome carton. I'll remember that brand for my next pair of walking shoes Gerry, I wear Asics and they are very comfortable and supportive of my ankles.

Housework is done, MrK is making shepherds pie for dinner, might have some lunch and do some sort of crafting.

morning ladies :) *does the happy dance* the Fluffy One goes home today. Our boy is sniffing out a rabbit under a garden shed. Spring must be here.

Might have a cruisey day today, was really tired yesterday and I think it was from the Yin Yoga. Looks like I'll have to build my stamina up.

I started crocheting a braid yesterday, this is definitely a pick-up-put-down thing. Tomorrow we are going to Tauranga to pick up my TM win so will buy more thread for the doily while there. At least then I can finish it.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone.

If Im correct HAPPY BIRTHDAY KUAKA..

Another beautiful day. out there.

Made better when I discovered the council gardeners have taken the young cabbage tree out of the garden on our corner.. They cause me alot of sinus stuff. And I hadnt even complained about it yet lol... Hopefully it will get replanted elsewhere tho.

Only got about 1 round done last night. Slow going but I just have soo many other things to do at the mo.
I have a small batch of jam soaking, Apricot. I got heaps if jars yesterday cos the oppies had sales on. So Ive rearranged the pantry in the garage. Will put the plum jam down there as I ran out of time last night. And will make the apricot jam tomorrow morning.

Going to the recycle centre tomorrow. They have a bottle drive on, where they are paying 10 cents for every bottle returned. In the hope that there is enough support of it that the council will adopt the idea. As a kid it was a right of passge really to be out collecting bottles and taking them to the dairy, and then being able to buy our lollies etc.

Right have a few things to do this morning. Including going to do my INR.. the first test since starting my iron etc.

I must say I am feeling alot better. Like Ive come out of a fog I didnt know I was in. And Im getting more done, and even happy about fine days.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning ladies, thank you popeye - yes, it is indeed my birthday today - big one next year (if I make it that far!) No plans for today other than to be lazy, going to start with bacon and eggs for breakfast and probably not have much for lunch as I'm going out for tea tonight at the club.

The builder didn't show up yesterday so I still have no shelves in my pantry! The novelty of having the kitchen/diner looking like a foodbank has well and truly worn off now. Hope he can come today and do it even though it will mean I have to do some painting (and I don't normally work on my birthday)

I have a market tomorrow and Sunday so I need to get organised for that. Have a couple of things to label and a tea cosy to finish so will try to do that after breakfast.

Have an awesome day everyone.

gerry - I am very interested in getting a new pr of walking shoes - there are so many different styles to choose from. What style are yours please. Most say running shoes - guess they are the same for walking????

Carton these are the shoes he bought me - I had Nike before and these seemed to be cushioned in just the right places - and the sole is good as where I walk Ash the concrete is often still damp - pop into your sports store and try them - its a brand I have never considered but he "knows" sports shoes - competes in all sorts of energetic things - light as a feather but good support round my ankles - colour awful!

Morning
Belated birthday wishes Kuaka. What a lot of work Gerry lovely blanket.

We are having such great weather at the moment - long may it last.
I'm going to go and look for blueberry bushes later. I think my gooseberry has died it hasn't done much for the last couple of years anyway, I don't think we get enough frosts to set the fruit. Not looking forward to removing it as so prickly. Will see what other dwarf fruit trees I can find instead.

Not a lot of knitting last few days just been too, nice to,stay inside.

Enjoy your day

morning ladies :) Belated birthday wishes kuaka! Like you, we are also waiting for the builder to turn up. Might have to call him and see what's happening.

Gerry, your blanket is just gorgeous, I bet you are thrilled with it. My sister has picked turquoise as her colour of choice in the house and has teamed it with cream and brown. So turquoise could be the 'in' colour.

Off to Tauranga today to pick up a TM purchase and visit the Bernina Sewing shop while there. We might call in and visit MrK's brother-in-law too who is now home from hospital even though we expected him to be in for another six weeks.

Jayemtoo, have you thought of cranberry bushes? You can buy standard versions too. MrK has a Cape Gooseberry plant but it hasn't done much either. And in spite of all our loving care over the winter we lost our passionfruit vine.

Rain is forecast over the next few days, I need fine days please so I can paint the dressing table. Have found some new handles/knobs for it here so MrK will plug up the old handle holes for me before I sand and paint. The dressing table will be the last thing and MrK and I should finish up together as he only has the shelves to do for the bookcase.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone

Another Beautiful Day.. I cant beleive I can see a fine day and be happy about it. Long may it stay that way.

I am feeling soo much better, that I cant beleive it really.

The suppliment or shot did put my INR up high, first time in over 2 years that its been over 4, but Ill check my older books and see how long it is. So no warfarin last night, back to normal today and test on Monday.

Did a wee bit on the blanket yesterday.

I have jam in the pot slowly heating up, so that shouldnt take long it was only a kilo of fruit.

Will go to our recycle centre later. They are trying to help get the council or GVT, not sure which to bring back the deposit / refund on drink bottles etc. So have a big collection hopefully today to show how it is needed.

Will also stop at my friends and check out her new abode.

Have a fab day all... not a breath of wind so Im about too open all the windows..

Morning all - yes Jayemtoo the weather is absolutely beautiful at the moment -
Thank you for your comments re the blanket - the second one has a bit more blue - yes there is a lot of turquoise home furnishings around at the moment -
I swap empty Lewis Road milk bottles for lemons - the lady makes sound trendy yeasty drink - they are a lovely shape so it's good they get reused
It's great having a husband that can "make" or fix up things for your projects isn't it kiwimade - sadly neither of my sons seem to be following in their fathers foitsteps - but the oldest one is work wise - he works for the same company as his Dad did 30 years ago and he is off to Shanghai on Monday to sort out product problems just as his Dad did all those years ago - reminded him his Dad used to bring back amazing presents for them ! One year he came home with t shirts with pictures on - you couldn't buy anything like it here - they cost under a dollar at the time but the kids were blown away
Well enough waffling on washing needs to go out

Morning
Well the lovely spring days are continuing.
Didn't actually garden yesterday as went to a couple of garden centres and brought an apple tree - one of the dwarf upright ones, a tiny nectarine and peach.
Good idea for a cranberry Kiwimade I'll look out for one of those as have a place where it could go. My sister in Hamilton has a totally edible garden and always inspires me when I visit so I'm taking out the very weedy ground cover and replacing with edible plants - bit of a challenge as a smallish garden so only dwarf trees.
Then yesterday pm went out for coffee with a friend who is going to Australia for several months to visit her son.
Bit of knitting in the evening. Oh forgot I popped into Skeinz when out as they had a sale on for KAN (knit August nights) which is on at the moment. They were doing a roaring trade with attendees buying up large. I only got a few balls which I just happened to "need" lol.
