Yes its a couple of days of Kiwimade and Jayemtoo not checking in.. Must be super busy.
I think its posible Kiwimade would have had to take her father to the airport. Im sure she said he was going for his winter visit to Aussie.

evening ladies :) I haven't checked in for a few days sorry but have been really busy here with school.

Super bulky weight yarn is 12 ply I think grant151.

Dad got away OK, he managed to fly out before the airport was closed with the fog much to our relief.

I've been raiding our neighbour's garden for roses as he wants a no fuss, easy care property for his tenants and now have to find homes in the garden for them as well as the roses I ordered from the garden centre. Oh well, a lovely problem to have.

Our wee grandson is now pulling himself up so it won't be long before he starts walking.

Might sneak in some knitting this evening.

Morning ladies, from a very wet and windy "winterless north" - hmmm, I'm having second thoughts about this - looking out the window it is looking very much like a British summer!

I managed to get my seedlings planted yesterday, I'm not sure how well they have survived the heavy rain we had during the night, and it's too wet to go and inspect them at the moment. I suspect they won't be very happy, but they needed to be out of their little punnets anyway, so not much I can do but fingers crossed.

Don't think I will bother going out today, have been going every day to check the mail, but no packages now since last Friday and seems as though 3 people on my list haven't bothered although one says she has been sick and was going to post yesterday.

I have an order from a friend for a baby blanket for a girl in wool rather than acrylic, so I will see what I have in my stash. I know I have some lotto winnings in pure wool which might be suitable.

Washing machine looks good popeye.

Breakfast time, then I plan to strip a dining chair ready to recover, (did one yesterday - stripped it, that is - and made quite a mess in the process) and then I can vacuum up all the bits.

Morning everyone,
Glad your dad made it out before the fog came down.
Wet and windy here, so MrP has decided to stay home. His asthma is really bad at the mo and he doesnt want a cold or flu on top.

Yesterday one of our Nephews wives died. Only 43, from a nasty asthma attack.. the odd thing is that yesterday was also the 43rd anniversary for Dad, so we wont ever forget Barbaras either. They have 4 youngish kids.

The washing is caught up, I put the tartan skirt into soak as there was something on the fabric, and man the red dye ran, so have poured some salt mix in with it.. Surprised me really cos none had coloured my hands when I made it.

Shopping this morning, but I only have to go to the supermarket and post a card.

Morning Ladies, They say things run in 3's. Mr S was in respite last week, came home Friday all well.Sunday afternoon we went out down to the waterfront. and I was going to go for a much-needed walk. That didn't happen. Someone hit the wrong pedal and rolled into the front of our car. Waiting to move into their space. We had backed up to give them more room. Now playing the waiting game to hear if we are getting the car repaired or not.
This morning received a call from my Doctor's that I missed my appointment yesterday afternoon. Now have to way till next week.
Did 2 mornings at school this week., so I am no longer catching up. The reading programme is going well and the kids look forward to it.

Kiwimade so sorry to hear you are finishing t up. As we all said they are calling out for teachers all the time. We are down two after the holidays and the other teachers' classes will increase in number.

Started a small knitting project on Tuesday night, not sure if it will be a winner or not.Watch and see.

Afternoon all - but chilly now pleased I went out for my walk earlier when it wasn't too bad - my asthma is giving me problems as well so sympathise with Mr P
Sunflower what a blimmin nuisance someone hitting your car - hope it doesn't end up a drama like mine did after that tart up on the hill hit mine - I did quite a bit of damage the other day running it into the fence - sure would have made the old boy steam if he was here
Will watch Coro and Emmerdale and do a few more rows of the blanket - poor dolly hasn't seen the light of day now for a couple of weeks

Morning ladies, well now that the rain has stopped, the wind has stopped and the fog has cleared, it looks like it might be a reasonable day if only the cloud would clear. It's not cold, so that's a bonus.

Was pretty sore last night from all efforts doing the chair. My ribs and sides ached, and I was tired, so I stayed home instead of going to a friends to watch a movie. Fell asleep in the chair so probably just as well I stayed home. Course as a result I was awake around 4am so will be knackered by tea time. Wanted to do the second chair today, but I don't feel like it.

Membership draw at the club has to go tonight, it's $950 so I will make the effort and go. Don't normally bother on a Friday night but if your number is drawn and you're not there, you miss out.

Going to do some sewing and then go to town to check the mail - hoping for more squishy parcels, but I'm not holding my breath.

Will do some knitting after lunch.

Take care on the road Kiwimade. We used to live in Whakamaru, up behind the shops, not in the village or on the farms. I loved the house there.

Intense pain this morning. Had very little sleep cos I just couldnt get comfortable.

Have to restock our pill trays this morning, and thats all I plan on doing, other than sitting and crocheting, which is going slowly since the washing and sewing machines have taken place for now lol.

Good morning - another grey drizzly day and my mood is mirroring it! Hope it clears a bit so we can get out for a little walk - my four legged friend had a quick trip out to the loo and dived straight back into bed so he might not be nagging today
We lived in Taupo for years and had friends at Whakamaru - lovely settlement out there but probably pretty wet there today - not that that will matter kiwimade your visit to your grandchildren will be great- mine are in Auckland for the rugby
I saw a brand new washing machine like yours Popeye and a fridge for sale last night on the local buy and sell Facebook page $200 for both - probably supplied by Winz that very day - annoying to see when so many people are in genuine need

Gosh the days have slipped past lately, seem to be on the go most of the time but having a "blob out" day today now I'm home from taking friends to airport and into town. It's rather wet and dull out so good excuse to stay in now.
Safe travels Kiwimade. Makes you wonder where they got that white ware from Gerry to be practically giving it away. I believe rather a lot of stolen stuff goes through those fb groups.

Had day trip to Hamilton Thursday as sister had meeting there and I was her chauffeur- we shared the driving. Saw more if Waikato than planned as had longish detour down narrow country lanes from Putararu and Tokoroa due to accident on SH1.

Afternoon ladies, I'm not sure where the time goes either, certainly goes quicker than it used to that's for sure.

It's sunny here but quite windy and the wind has a bite in it.

I have stripped the second dining chair ready to re-cover it, but am off out this afternoon, so it will have to wait. Out to lunch tomorrow, my old next door neighbours in Russell are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary, and I was invited through a third party. Checked with the neighbours that it was okay for me to go and they said yes, and now the third party phoned this morning and said he won't be able to take me but will see me there. I was told "no presents, just your presence" but I saw a beautiful gold coloured chrysanth last week at the supermarket and grabbed it - I thought they can't complain about that, but looks like I've assassinated it during the week, and it's a sorry looking thing at the moment.

Right, I had better have some lunch then this evening I might find time to do some knitting.

We had a wonderful time with our grandies, gosh they are growing quickly. We're going back Monday as the local Playcentre has an open day and Maddie wants to show us around and our son-in-law will have a sheep for the freezer ready for us. I'll picky my karcher up then too.

Housework today and I have some roses I need to plant. I rescued them from the nieghbour's rental property as he is turning to garden into lawn.

Knitting later on today I hope.

Its special if one doesnt win for themselves that someone you know does.

Glad you had fun with the grandies Kiwimade.. My friend was having 2 boys for the night, last night.. 6 and 3 years. Havent heard from her as yet. But I spoke breifly a couple of hours in last night and she already sounded exhausted lol.. I reckon she will be Nana Napping later.

I had a horrendous day yesterday. Close to getting the ambulance a couple of times. I think i had a sever chill in my kidney, I could barely move and no pain meds helped at all. Sat with a hottie on all afternoon etc and that helped a bit. Niggly this morning so Ill refill the bottle and use it when Im sitting.

My Nurse stayed with me all the time, including sitting between me and the laptop. And all night.

Hope to get some crochet done today. Its going very slowly but I dont mind.

Morning ladies, not sure that I will last the day, been awake since before 4 and eventually got up at 6. Going out to lunch today, but I have to shorten my new black jeans (they actually look more like trousers than jeans) and polish my boots. Not sure what I will wear with them. I will find something in the wardrobe.

Just been "chatting" with Paul (messaging through skype) he is getting ready to move house, so he says he's got cardboard boxes everywhere. I don't envy him one little bit. Wouldn't worry me if I leave this place feet first!

I suppose I should get my a into g and get cracking otherwise I will be late. I still have to top up my ferry card and I always have trouble remembering how to do that.

Better go. Hopefully get some knitting done this afternoon.

I wish I could get my sleep patterns regular again Kuaka - read a tip to boil banana skins for 10 mins and drink the juice before bed time - sounds awful but tempted to give it a try - I think sleeping with one eye open making sure the oxygen pump was doing its job has stuffed me up so to speak
Went out to the dog park - not so good out there on a Sunday lots of dogs not under control out for their once in a blue moon walk cause mayhem - but am pleased they get to run occasionally - my boy just plods through the mayhem and takes off over the other side of the creek to get some peace - I am so lucky he comes back to me when I call him MrG did a superb job training him
Well better hop out and get the washing in the rain is getting closer

Morning everyone.

I made it.. The last few days have been Kinda scary for me.. Dr said not to take my warfarin for two days before my surgery today.. Its been on my mind that I could clog up my mechanical valve.. Cos I was lead to beleive it would only take a few days for it to happen.
I can tell you I am Looking forward to taking my warfarin tonight lol.

My pain in the back is alot better this morning. Yay.

Did quite alot of crochet yesterday while we caught up on some recorded tv.
Have come up with an idea for holding my larger balls of wool while I work. I normally open a drawer next to my chair and sit it in there, but a certain young lady likes to poke her nose and paw around in the drawer to see what she can find and take off with.. So I have a tupperware container the perfect size, I will get MrP to dril a hole in the side and I will bolt on a thin strip of metal and make it into a hook to hang over the front of the drawer. And then the drawer can be shut again.. So hopefully we will do that later.

Right I need to get a few things done before we pop out.

morning ladies :) Glad your back is feeling better popeye. MrK has had to stop taking warfarin for his surgeries in the past so I know about the worry.

We're back to Whakamaru today to pick up a sheep for our freezer and to visit our granddaughter at Playcentre. There's an open day and she wants to show us around. Will phone our butcher shortly about dropping the sheep in for cutting up. MrK can do it but some things now are easier just to have someone else do it. And it will need to hang for a couple of days in the chiller.

So no knitting today for me, well, not until we get home anyway.

Afternoon ladies, busy day today. Worked at the op shop this morning 10 till 1, but one of the afternoon ladies didn't show up, so I got my usual lift home, quickly had some toast for lunch and then went back in my car and stayed till closing time at 4pm. So just going to have a cuppa then I might still go to the club to try to get a game of snooker. Wasn't going to bother, was hoping to go for a walk with my neighbour/friend, but she isn't going tonight, so the choice is, go for a walk on my own, stay home or go to the club. Cup of tea then I will decide.

Have to do some knitting tonight.

Good morning - beautiful blue sky day - up early to watch the boat race - first one I have watched - the dog thinks seeing I have been up for hours we should get going already - yesterday a stupid woman called him along to her car to give him a treat and nearly got him run over by another car backing out who couldn't see him - she received a double burst I have asked her several times not to give him treats but to call him along behind the cars - stupid -

A good frost but a beautiful day with it. Bit Nippy.

Yes op went well Gerry.. Tis smarting a little bit this mroning, but nothing major. results will be back in about 12 days. Dr decided to have it tested, since we could lol.
Did my INR afterwards to see how low it went, and was 1.5 which was very low. Ive never been so pleased to take my warfarin as I was last night lol.

After my time on here we are going to take some weed spray out and del with the weeds poping their heads up in the two gardens we had cleared. Will pick mandarins too. And if MrP feels up to it we might at least bring the waratah standards and netting up from the back so we can get the bean fence back in.
Have about 10 rows on my first piece of my poncho to do.. I hope the size will be ok. Its going to be a good length, and I think it might be good for the neck.

Morning ladies, well in the end I went to the club and had a glass of wine and one frame of snooker (which I lost - but I did pot some nice balls - as well as the ones I missed or "went in off").

Had a long phone call from my sister in the UK then another one from my son in Auckland, and then dozed off in the chair, so no knitting last night.

It is a beautiful day here but rather cool. Oh for a sunny house - but that isn't going to happen, as I don't see anywhere round here that I would rather live, than where I am, so put up with it kuaka and don't complain!

Didn't we do well with the America's Cup - although I must admit I rather lost interest when they started racing these dopey looking boats. Mr K would have been pleased though.

Better get cracking, my afternoon out at mah jong today, have some phone calls to make, I have just stripped the bed and need to do the washing and put clean sheets on, and I have some sewing to do. Shorten a pair of jeans for some chap who came in the op shop yesterday and wanted to buy them but needed them shortened. The lady along the road who does alterations was closed so I said I would do them, and I've already been paid.

Out for tea tonight. One of the local restaurants has a two for one deal on a Tuesday, so half a dozen of us are going to take advantage again. Saves cooking.

It's been a mixed up kind of day today. We decided yesterday we needed to update our laptop as the old one was 10 years old and no longer doing what we need or wanted. So I did some online research and found a reasonably priced one at the Warehouse Stationery. I've spent most of the afternoon setting it all up and transferring files. This morning I raided a friend's grapefruit tree so have two big bags to juice and bought groceries. Yoga this evening so I suspect there will be no knitting.

We have sprayed the weeds.. so Im pleased thats done.. Including pulling alot of Kaikuyu from in the mandarin tree. Have decided to plant pumpkins in the corner that it seems too much of a wasted space by not planting something in it. Need to get the bean fence back up yet. But one thing at a time with MrP or he will get grumpy.

Think I have about 5 rows left to do on the first piece of my poncho. Only got a couple of rows done before lunch.

morning ladies :) What a joy to use a laptop with the keyboard intact lol. I thought 10 years was pretty good too popeye but it started to go downhill when I upgraded to Windows 10. Files were corrupted and then it got to the stage where my photos wouldn't upload. So decided enough of fighting with the damed thing, time for a change. Our son is taking our old one so he can upload books as his gaming computer doesn't want to do that.

Anyhoo, time to do some winter gardening today, two roses need planting and I need to spray some moss and rake some leaves for the compost. The ground is freezing but I'll have a go at some weeding.

And I need to pick up the Furry One's epilepsy meds today, forgot all about them yesterday.

I need to prune our roses, the council have done theres. Im just a bit scared to cutthem really low. But I think I have to be tough on them this year. Maybe later when it warms up, cos they wont get the sun till the afternoon.

Have to duck up and get Missy some bikkies and the lawn mowng money, I had it in my head yesterday that it was wednesday lol.

don't let the roses frighten you popeye lol. Prune back hard leaving the centre of the roses open. Take them right back to the last bud and they will thank you in the spring/summer. Wait for a fine day to prune so there will be no rotting from the rain and make sure your secateurs are clean.

Morning ladies, couldn't sleep last night 'cos I slept in the chair in the evening and when I woke I was tired and could hardly keep my eyes open then suddenly I woke right up and when I went to bed I couldn't sleep, so at 3.30 I took half a sleeping pill and slept till just after 8 so don't feel too bad this morning.

Looks like being a fabulous day, sunny and not a cloud in the sky, but I suspect it's cold out of the sun.

Went out for tea last night at a local restaurant where they do "2 for 1" but the offer is restricted to ribs and chips, and you have to purchase a drink (doesn't have to be alcoholic and only one of the pair needs to have a drink). So it works out quite reasonable. I went with the same group once before and enjoyed it both times.

Out for tea tonight. I've been invited to tea over in Russell - so will be another ferry trip, but I won't be late home as the ferry doesn't run late in the winter. I'll take the car ferry.

Better get myself organised for knit and natter, and then I must re-cover the second chair and do some housework in readiness for the weekend, and the mid-winter Christmas celebrations.

My air fryer has started to play up - just googled my problem and there are dozens and dozens of people complaining to Philips - its only 12 months old I have used it a lot - very rarely turn the oven on - so will get on the 0800 number and see how I go -

Not perfect by any means, and they still need tidying up underneath - I haven't trimmed all the excess fabric off yet, and they still need a piece of cloth under them so you can't see the springs (if you stand them up on end or if you're crawling around on the floor) and they still need the upholsterers studs in them which I will try to buy next time I go to Kerikeri or Whangarei, but I'm pretty pleased with them. The first one I did only had two screws holding the back in instead of the four it should have had, the second one had four but now only has three, as I've managed to lose one!

Potter around sort of day, made several meals some for my freezer and some to warm up sister when they get back home as long as I remember Ipick them up from airport this evening.
Good play in the garden and a bit of knitting. I have half pruned my roses but they still had flowers on so left those for a little longer.

HAve decided I need more length on the poncho bit. Its just about a square, and Id really like to ahve a hole for my head lol.

Gerry, your airfryer should be covered under warranty, certainly under the Consumers Guarantee Act.

Some of my roses are flowering still as well popeye, I'll start pruning them over the school holidays. I want one of those crisp fine days to do it as I have around 25 roses to prune.

A little bit of planning for school tomorrow then back outside for me today. Only managed to rake the leaves yesterday as I ended up with lots of things to do in town. So will plant the roses and spray the moss.

I haven't picked up my knitting for ages, think I am bored with it so may have a rethink about the pattern.

Morning everyone,
Foggy here today. A different kind of cold.

Sewed in the ends on the poncho front last night so will add some more later.
Shopping this morning, have a few things to do up the road. MrP will stay home cos he would only sit in the car anyway.

I ordered some Colloidal Silver Gell for him the other day. His SIL said it worked well on her sons arms, hes a milker and gets rashes or excma. Anyway it arrived yesterday , about 10 minutes after Id creamed his legs lol.. So have put some on this morning. Hope it works well.. Its not cheap but if it works we will carry on using it.
It can be used for soo many different things.

Right better get some stuff done on here and get up the road.

Morning all another beautiful day - chilly start but that's ok when the sun is shining
Called the 0800 number yesterday about my airfryer - while hanging on for an hour wondered why it's called a fryer because it is really just a mini fan oven - anyway eventually somebody took my call that spoke I know not what language but I just couldn't understand him so politely asked if someone could call me back from NZ - might try emailing them
Well done with the chairs Kuaka -so good to see beautiful furniture get a new lease on life
My mum swears by that colodial silver Popeye - her skin is so thin she has to be so careful what she uses
My granddaughter from down south sent me a really lovely film to watch called a Dogs Purpose - kiwimade if you see it listed somewhere watch it - a must for all dog lovers - the internet never ceases to amaze me she sent a website link and I used my little silver apple stick and up it pops on my tv -
Off to the lawyer this morning to redo my will -

Moss has been sprayed and finally have the two rescued roses planted. Lessons planned so all good to go for tomorrow.

I'll keep an eye out for that film Gerry, might even google it. Have finally got everything uploaded back onto the new lappy, well, everything except Office and I can't find the discs for that. Will use google docs until I find it. Can't be too far away lol.

My to-do list is shrinking slowly, next on the list is clean the oven. Might leave that for Saturday.

An early lunch I think.

Little frost with promise of nice day ahead.
Niece put in order for next size of knitting for daughter. I had just used my last biggish lot of suitable wool so a visit to a wool shop is in order how sad - not!.

Really must make the most of nice days and get into the garden the bit I did the other day looks good but makes the rest look a mess.

Morning everyone
A rather chilly foggy day here.

Have to pop up and do my blood this morning and then get my stitches out later.. My God the cover they put on it stuck like the preverbial to the blanket. lol

Havent touched my poncho, just off the hook at the mo.

Its terribly sad to hear you have to go to the wool shop Jayemtoo.. such a chore one must bear.
