Morning all - my lawyer nephew is now my Winz slayer and he won't take any you know what - it is just so ridiculous - $60 it beggars belief so much time is being wasted - the only thing I can think of might have triggered sound sort of query was that we didn't claim until the last 2 months as we didn't know we could - but we didn't go back we just claimed I think it was $135 including the $60 !
Anyway it's a beautiful blue sky day here - I am going out to enjoy it - sit down by the sea - might take my crochet with me

Morning ladies, very overcast with very dark clouds but also some blue sky, not sure what the day will bring.

Yesterday afternoon at mah jong one of the ladies asked me if I would like to join her and two others at a local restaurant where it was 2 for the price of 1, so they needed another to get two specials. I said I already had tea organised, then I said "what the heck, I can have that tomorrow". So met them at the time arranged only to find four of them sitting there as one had brought along another. Not to worry. We'll just ask someone else, so a quick phone call and not long afterwards there were 6 of us. So we had 6 meals for the price of 3. And very enjoyable it was too. Then it was movie night at one of the neighbours, so I went up there and sat and watched a movie, it was so funny, I haven't laughed so much in ages.

Knit and natter this morning then I have a neighbour (doesn't live in the house next door - it's a holiday home so I don't see her often) coming for a catch up. She's just found out she has breast cancer and has to have a mastectomy and she is naturally quite upset.

Still haven't been out to the boat, must try tomorrow.

And I must do some housework and paperwork. I hate both - much prefer to sit and knit. Life is unfair at times.

Have a super day everyone.

morning ladies :) Yes, life is unfair at times. But if caught in time, breast cancer can be cured. And loosing a boob to save your life is a small price to pay I think. I've lost a good friend to breast cancer and work with two women who have beaten it. I wish your friend all the very best and hope things work out for her, kuaka.

I have a few things to do in town today and need to prepare some ground for two roses I ordered in April. So that's my day pretty much done.

Yesterday after weeding dad's garden and buying groceries I mowed the lawn. The afternoon was quite mild so thought I had better get it done while the grass was a bit drier. And then my last yoga lesson as a beginner was last evening, am definitely going back. I am going to teach mrk (this should be good lol) some stretches for his sciatica which should help him if he is prepared to keep doing them.

Knitting later today :)

happy knitting

Morning
What a hassle Gerry. My sister is battling WINZ too at the moment - a lot more than $60 though. They had a review meeting last week but the WINZ team had come so poorly prepared it was pathetic, even the copy of the report, which only 2 of the 4 had anyway was printed out so small it was practically illegible! Sister was very well prepared which seemed to surprise the other side - guess they expect everyone to be as incompetent as their are. Now they have to have another review meeting.

Finished the white cardy except for sewing up, quite a while since I knitted something in seperate pieces, it's not very big so not a problem.
Now hunting out wool for sone tv slippers someone has requested.

Morning everyone,
Yes breast Cancer has touched soo mant families.. My sister died from hers and Mums siter had a double masectomy. Which is why I get mammograms, with it being in the family.

Had a bit of a rough night last night. MrPs legs are driving him crazy, they itch so much and burn, so I was up at midnight slathering cream on them. But rolled my wrist when I got up too, so thats not a good look. I also steamed my thumb when I cooked tea too...
We had booked to see the dr this morning so we could get our scripts, so Im rolling in with my hand brace on one hand and a cover on the thumb lol.
So there wont be any crochet for a while cos my thumb is really sore .
The older I get the more accident prone I seem to be lol

Lawn guys didnt turn up yesterday so if they do this morning they will have to come back to get paid.

Have a fab day all and stay safe.

Morning all - another beautiful blue sky day with a nip in the air -
My nephew has rattled the cage of somebody way up the ladder at Winz - I can't put details on here but Jayemtoo I would say your sister must not give up no matter what obstacles they put in her way - what my nephew exposed was mind boggling and he intends to take it further - unfortunately it implicates others so I can't put it on this public forum - I am so lucky to have had access to a bolshie young lawyer that never takes a step backwards if he knows he is right
Popeye you have certainly knocked yourself around
What a lovely evening you had Kuaka - I am going to the litle theatre tonight down at Ahuriri to watch I have no idea what - but they bring a light supper and a glass of wine to your seat so it's nice and relaxing
I just read a Olivia Newton John's breast cancer has returned - she has done wonderful things for breast cancer treatment in Australia so hope she has a good outcome
Today I am going to knuckle down and finish the doll !

gerry64 - 2017-05-31 09:42:00
12057

Don't worry my sister won't be giving up as she has done everything correctly and the mess up is totally from the other side. It seems that no one at WINZ uses the same instruction book or at least they all interpret it to suit their own way of thinking! Very frustrating.

Oh dear Popeye do look after your poor hands they are so essential for crafting lol.

Absolutely beautiful today have been out to the factory showered and lunch now off to walk to Taradale and hope to get wool for the slippers.

morning ladies :) We're finding a similar thing jayemtoo with the interpretation of the rules at WINZ. One person says one thing and another says something else. Might have to look up the legislation at this rate to see what is what!

Class planning today and I have to pick up a script for MrK.

I unpicked my knitting as I wasn't happy with the pattern and the colourway of the yarn, the pattern was just too fussy. So will try and find something a bit plainer to show off the colours.

Happy knitting :)

Morning all - another lovely day I think only going to be 15 but that's ok - had an email from a friend in Bathurst yesterday it was minus 4 at 7am yesterday so not missing that at all
The culture in Winz is appalling even though I know people do rip them off the just can't ignore the facts when they are presented with them and cause undue stress along the way - will email you kiwimade
Did a few more rounds of the blanket yesterday down at the seaside it is looking good I think
Dog is nagging better get cracking and have some breakfast

Morning everyone from a Foggy Waiuku. Not cold tho. Well it might be outside but I havent been out yet. lol

Drs visits went well yesterday, Dr noted my wrist again cos its the same one I strained the tendons in.
She was more than annoyed to learn MrP hasnt been called in for a revue a year post heart surgery, so she is going to rav them up a bit. Its sounding like he has COPD. His breathing is terrible, wheezing all the time and the annoying cough. And of course he worked in the car painting business without masks like they have today, plus he used to be a smoker. So there will be more investigation.
I read about it online and it was like reading his medical file.

Still no craft dr said to use my brace for a week at least.

Shopping this morning and get our scripts too.

Have a fab day everyone

Popeye - MrG had lung disease caused by birds - we have never owned birds but he used to manage a sawmill where the sheds were full of pigeons and their droppings used to be all over the timber and then he did go and help build a library in the whop whops in Oz and where they slept was like an aviary there were so many birds so who knows where he got it - but he was very lucky really he was only sick for 6 months - had the disease for years but ran his last ironman 12 months before he passed - but like MrP he went to work inhaling dust and droppings just like MrP inhaled paint fumes not knowing the risks they were taking

back from town, what a gorgeous day to be outside. I bought some compost from the warehouse, 5 for $20 as our compost isn't quite ready for using yet. Will finish my cuppa then prepare the ground for the new roses arriving soon. I see MrK is planting leeks... yummmm... one of my fav vegies.

Dad was a painter/car painter and like MrP, never wore masks so his lungs are shot as well. I think there must be quite a few from his generation in the same positon.

Better get a move on, this cuppa will be cold soon!

We were juyst talking about that this Morning Kiwimade, there must be a whole generation with ruined lungs and bodies from the paint etc. Mrp also worked with fibrest plaster too and the floors in dairy companies. There just werent any thought of using masks in the generation.

Wow didnt know about bird being dangerous, we used to have aviaries of budgies, cockatiels etc.

A good buy on the compost Kiwimade.. I need to get some, but I will get it on Saturday and then when the boys are here on Sunday Ill get them to take it out of the car and pour into the huge pot I have.

Right time for a play

Afternoon ladies, well I bit the bullet this morning and went out to the boat. Was hoping to put it off till Saturday and take a friend out to see what needs doing but the forecast was perfect today and no good at the weekend, so I have taken some pics and will show my friend and see if he can help me.

It was glorious out there, I only came back as the tide was high and was about to start to drop, which would mean rowing against the tide and then struggling even more with the dinghy than I have to at high tide. Anyway I'm pleased I went. The motor started first time - phew!

Going to have some lunch then nip into town to post a parcel. I really should do some gardening, but by the time I get back, I doubt I will feel like it - and there is another day tomorrow (I hope).

Can't remember if I'm supposed to be going to a friends for tea tonight or next Thursday so I better make a phone call.

Enjoy the rest of this gorgeous day.

Drizzly and coldish - not freezing though. Did a biggish wash this am hung out the first few things thinking although overcast it looked ok but no drizzly rain had to start so into the garage for the washing. Had to take friend to medical centre for appointment so managed to buy myself a waterproof pair of shoes while waiting. Pretty basic and probably won't last long but we're on special.
Been to library and supermarket so lunch and bit of a sit down with one of the books and knitting while deciding what next needs doing.
Aquarobics tonight so better save a bit of energy for that.

morning ladies :) We had a successful meeting at WINZ yesterday and even got an apology for mucking us about. Sounds like they are understaffed and can't keep up with the work load.

Back in the classroom today, a sunny lunch break would be nice so the kids can be outside rather than cooped up inside. And I prefer the outside lunch duties lol.

It took a few attempts for me to understand the scarf pattern I'm knitting, for some reason I kept reading it wrong and making the same mistake over and over. Finally clicked after unpicking it the third time.

Happy knitting :)

kiwimade64 - 2017-06-02 07:26:00

Morning ladies, a very grey day here so far and not very tropical, completely different to yesterday. We had heavy rain last night and at some stage through the night it was heavy enough to wake me, but I just turned over and went back to sleep without looking at the clock. I doubt I will be venturing outside today to do any gardening unless there is a change in the weather. I might try to do some sewing. I want to make new linings for the curtains in the family room, and still need to make a curtain and lining for one of the windows in the bedroom. It has a curtain but it's not full length like the rest of them.

How frustrating kiwimade, don't you hate it when you keep making the same mistake over and over. I know I've gone wrong sometimes, and can't for the life of me figure out why, only to discover it's because I'm not reading all of the pattern or something equally stupid.

I was astounded to discover last night that I won "yarn lotto" on facebook. Absolutely thrilled to bits, it will be like Christmas receiving lots of yummy squishy packages!

I played yardage chicken last night and lost, have to join in another ball of yarn just to finish casting off a scarf. I've probably got about 100 stitches still to cast off. Guess it would have been more annoying if I didn't have another ball to use.

Right my cup of tea must be brewed now. I'll have that and then breakfast and decide what to do today. I have a sore back (from rowing) so the answer is probably "not much" - apart from knitting!

Have a super day everyone.

A bit windy here but its not cold, well not inside anyway lol.

Soo pleased you won the Lotto Kuaka, its fun knowing you will be getting wool but just dont know what.

Pleased Winz has settled your stuff Kiwimade.. Lets hope gerrys is sorted quickly now.
Have to go post a couple of wooly parcels. I did a couple of swaps. One is for 3 kilos of eyelash yarn for only one kilo of acrylic. Theres some beautiful red in it too.

Might get the potting mix and compost too while Im up the road.

Have decided Id like to make a crochet blanket like the yellow sunburst one, but in Blues. I dont recall having ever made one in blue.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning
Very wet at the moment so that puts the gardening aside for today.
Niece's family visiting her mother this weekend so will be able to meet new great niece a bit later, will need to put buttons on her cardy first.

Finished first pair of slippers and onto the next pair but think my fingers don't really like knitting the double 8ply as one is protesting quite a lot so will have to pace myself with the thicker knitting and perhaps start something lighter to do in between times.

Have a delivery to do in Hastings so better not procrastinate in the warm house too long.

Enjoy your day Everyone

morning ladies :) well done on the yarn Lotto win kuaka, very exciting!

Congratulations on the new arrival jayemtoo, lovely to have new babies in the family isn't it.

Housework for me today and massive pile of ironing is staring at me every time I walk into the laundry. I suppose the easy thing is not to go into the laundry lol. And I need to buy a new thingy for the light in there, the bit that holds the light bulb has become so brittle it crumbled when I tried to put in the new bulb. The joy of older homes.

Better get moving, I slept in this morning so must have been tired.

Happy knitting

A long time since Ive held a new baby, would be Addy that was born a couple of weeks after your Maddy Kiwimade.

I have some washing to fold, not clothes but bed linen and towels etc.. Its been looking at me for a few days lol...

I said to MrP this morning I just dont feel like doing anything. I had a bit of a warfarin flat bettery yesterday and I think its hung over lol..

Havent started the Blue blanket yet, but I got my Hitchhiker pattern this morning so I might make a start on that, maybe.

Have a fab day everyone

12072

Morning ladies, from a very wet, windy and not particularly warm "winterless north" - I am starting to think that is a bit of a misnomer!

The rain eased off enough late yesterday for me to be able to go for a walk with one of the neighbours and a friend. The plan was to go at 10 this morning for another, but at 8.30 I chickened out, then at 9.45 it stopped raining and I was about to suggest that maybe we should go after all, but at 5 past 10 it started again and hasn't stopped.

Yesterday I made the effort and cut out and sewed a new lining for one of the curtains so that I can use the old lining on an old curtain in the junk room. I shouldn't really refer to it as the junk room, but it is full of stuff we are never quite sure whether to keep or biff, so it is always called the junk room. Paul suggested that I should put a curtain up so prowlers (if there are any) can't see in. Good idea. There's been lots of burglaries round here recently. If they can't see in they may not be so tempted.

So today I am going to hang the new lining and iron the old curtain and hang it too. This afternoon, I'm playing mah jong at the club.

Puss pestered this morning by the cat door, so eventually I gave in and let her out. She wasn't out long and came in like a drowned rat, so now she is curled up on the arm of the chair underneath the heat pump. She has dried out nicely and I have shut the cat door.

I've just had to tink over 200 stitches, when I noticed I had done a round too many on my mobious cowl before changing from knit to purl. Grrrr.

Have a super day everyone despite the weather.

kuaka - 2017-06-03 11:06:00

time for a cuppa while the last load in the washing machine spins. Then I'll vacuum and wash the floors. My uncle is visiting tomorrow with more family so better have the house looking nice.

What a buggar about the tinking kuaka, I hate that lol.

And Maddy will be four in September popeye, it seems time goes by pretty quickly. I'm teaching 'my' kids time at school and they had to count how many star jumps they could do in a minute. They said it felt 'forever!' lol. Then morning tea time came and they said that 15 minutes went by quickly. Was an interesting wee exercise in their thinking as some thought time had actually sped up. Gotta love the way kids think :)

Washing machine has beeped, better make the most of the wind and sunshine. If I blat round quickly I can knit soon.

Afternoon all - drizzly old day here - no dog park today - Ash is nit impressed
Last moan I am going to have about Winz - they need a whole new culture change instead of treating most people like crooks and being obstructive they need to spend a bit of time in the real world - spend a day of two in the classroom with kiwimade or nurse someone like my husband on oxygen 24/7 and then ask themselves if spending time arguing with them is fair - obviously they shouldn't turn their back on fraud but in my case I should never been red flagged on a stupid assumption -
I see there is a documenteary on Netflix called Yarn it's about creative people and their work might watch that this afternoon
Just received a message from the lady I sold the mucked up Love Knitting order to - I am so pleased she got a bargain she s going through a tough time and she loved all the blues -

lol so true Gerry, this class I have is a challenge, should have it sorted by Christmas :P I'll have to check that doco out as well, we have Netflix.

Finally have this pattern sussed, I needed the time this afternoon to sit down and concentrate.

kiwimade64 - 2017-06-03 17:01:00
12076

Glad you have sorted your pattern Kiwimade.

i got the Hitchhiker shawl pattern this morning and this is my first attempt... its only 8 rows to the pattern and I think just a few more blocks and I wont be reading the pattern.

Doing it in some merinoe mix that I had previously made some handwarmers in ..

https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/600418860.jpg

I need to work on the points, but I think its cos Im not used to the circular needle yet. And it will need blocking when I get to the end.
And so far no aggrivation to the pinched nerved as yet.

Does anyone have a knitting pattern of a tui ??. Or know where I could get one. A friend is wanting a scarf / hat with it on. Much appreciated.

janzjanz - 2017-06-03 18:39:00
12078

morning ladies :) I would find a picture of a tui and pic2pat it into a graph and knit the tui onto a plain pattern janzjanz. You can find free patterns on Ravelry for a hat and just cast on however many stitches you need for the scarf width and stocking stitch the scarf adding in the tui pattern. Or you could cheat like I do sometimes and Swiss Darn the picture on. I would garter stitch a few rows to start and finish and for the first and last three stitches for a nice edging. Pic2pat will convert pretty much any photo and I also use it for cross stitch.

Not much knitting will be done today, my little great niece is also visiting and she is crawling so all sharp things will be put away. So it's going to be a house full :) Bacon and pumpkin soup all organised for lunch.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone,
A bright clear day here with a good heavy dew.

Thanks Kiwimade re the knitting. I do have a slight niggle on the top of my shoulder, but if I do a little bit everyday it will soon grow..

I havent checked fb yet but Im assuming the boys will still be here today. Its a good day for working in thats for sure.

Need to ask my House lady what project she has in mind. She asked me to tell her when Im between projects so I will find out today.

Have got some sausage rolls, pizza bread and chips for the boys. Its a long time since Ive fed teenagers so I hope it will be enough for them. They tend to have hollow legs.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning all - the sun peeped out for a minute or two but the grey cloud is coming back - very cold wind so the dogs cabin fever is likely to get even worse
Hope the circular needles enable you to get back into knitting Popeye its good to be able to chop and change between knitting and crochet - sounds a pretty good lunch for the boys to me -but you are right their legs are hollow
Family coming for lunch not sure if Mum will come there are so many bugs going round she is probably better staying away from the school kids in our family - everyone is super concerned about not giving her any bugs as she wants to make her 100 in August
Well coffee machine is beeping

12082

Morning ladies, well the sun is shining, there is hardly a cloud in the sky, but I haven't ventured out so I don't know what the temp is like, suspect it's lovely in the sun, but flipping cold in the shade.

The weather was pretty miserable most of the day yesterday, but I had an enjoyable afternoon at the club playing mah jong. There were 6 of us, so two tables of three, it does mean there are certain hands that we can't play which we can play when there's four to a table, but it's still good fun, and much better than sitting at home alone.

Going to take a lettuce out of my garden to a friend later and then go to an open home - my son has his eye on a house up here and I want to go and have a nosey.

Other than there, there are still weeds to pull (but they probably won't get done today) and plenty of leaves to sweep up on the deck - probably will do that. This afternoon I might cut out the curtain for the bedroom - it's been bugging me for a couple of years now. I made them to just below the windowsill originally then decided they needed to be floor length. I made one and hung it but I never got as far as doing the second one, so for all this time they've been long and short. Time to fix it.

You will find the circulars easy popeye once you get the hang of it, but you will probably also find the hitchhiker deadly boring. I pick mine up now and again, but it really is "no think" knitting.

Have a fabulous day everyone.

Good Morning, Cold and damp here again today. Washing is out., hope to get it dry today.
Mr S spend all Thursday at the hospital and hopefully will see someone on Tuesday. Not a happy camper. In between times, they told me to call his own doctor. They are closed until Tuesday morning.

So pleased you have started the scarf Popeye, as others have said do a little daily. I have chosen my wool and pattern for an online knit in. Some time since I have knitted with 4ply.

Kuaku, Happy for you in winning the draw for June Lotto Yarn.Look forward to seeing what you get.
Everyone else hopefully will get some knitting done or work on their craft today.

Well, it's time to make a move as I need to arrange to get an s/market shop done today as things are getting somewhat low.Still not allowed to drive either.
Enjoy your day.

Well the boys have been.. Man they are fast. Totally cleared the two gardens, emptied the comost bin and trimmed the fern back.. Took them 35 minutes. No way was I only paying them $35 tho, so I gave them $50. They were happy with that.
They have already brought one motorbike, they are aiming for one each.

Very polite boys, and they cleared the food which was good. And they moved the potting mix and compost around for me. So Ill will be able to plant our daffodil bulbs again.

So now I just have to drip feed the green waste bin till its all gone.

So time for a play and then back to the needles

morning ladies :) The boys did well popeye, sometimes it pays to have someone in to do things for you.

Won't be long before they deliver your groceries by drone raej2, then distance won't matter!

We had a fun day yesterday with my sister and her family visiting along with dad and his brother. Before they arrived I unpicked my knitting as I had dropped three stitches along a bottom row. Couldn't believe it. So now that yarn has been tucked away and I've changed to the yak fingering wool and knitting the scarf for our daughter's birthday. Just got tired off unpicking the same yarn over and over and thought a break from it might be what I need. The yak wool is so soft and knits so beautifully. I've knitted two repeats of the pattern and am deciding if the scarf is wide enough or not. I'll measure it against one of mine to see.

Happy knitting

Morning
Looks nice out.
Yes countdown on line is great for when can't get out easily to supermarket. Sister uses it from time to time when not well or ultra busy. Agree Raej2 they may not be so keen when they realise how far to go to you.

Out to dinner to friends last evening has a delicious meal and pleasant evening. I had done some baking as on morning tea for Mainly Music this week so took a cake last evening but the one I made for the am tea doesn't look big enough so will make another later today but will need to go and get more eggs first.
Started a hooded jacket for the baby yesterday. Need to get it done by Friday so her grandmother can take it to her. Fortunately I had some wool put aside for something like this so was able to do most of the back while cakes cooking yesterday.

Morning everyone.

A dark old day here, alot of cloud about so I think it will rain eventually.

Mndy I belong to a few local facebook groups and the boys mum had put the post up about them.

They have restored my faith into the hope that the next generation might be able to break the selfish Me Me attitude alot of teenagers have these days.

Didnt get any craft done yesterday, hopefully later today.

But first I have an emergency dash to mitre 10 for a toilet roll holder. The one we have has finally broken itself beyond repair. lol.

Ohh I also hope to get my daffodils planted today too.. Ill be pleased to have them in the pot, even if I cant move it.. And MrP suggested if I want a raised planter to use the timber that lays by the footpath down the back garden. Theres 5 long bits so I should get a nice little garden for lettuces or dwarf beans. We will be putting the bean fence up again. I missed growing the beans and was taunted by the few that were self sown .

Have a fab day ladies..

Morning - beautiful day -freezing but my friends in Bathurst have woken to minus 6 so I am not complaining
I agree Popeye about the next generation am sure there are many who don't give a damn but those boys that helped you out yesterday while earning some money are fantastic and I hope they get plenty of work -
MrG built gardens out of pallets and put them up on the fence for me - grew carrots and all sorts last year - will have to get cracking on it for this year
My Mum and Dad would have been married 78 years today - Dad died when he was 70 - Mum tried on her dress when she was being interviewed for the book recently - still fits but is way too long - she certainly has shrunk
Pulled all the stuffing out of dolly last night - she was too pear shaped with such narrow shoulders her little blouse looked weird -

Afternoon ladies, I'm just home from the op shop - I actually didn't want to work today, because Monday morning is my normal shift, I get lumbered with working the statutory holidays and I honestly don't think we should be open on a lot of them. It was very quiet this morning till about midday then it picked up, but at 11.30 I was thinking we should be going home.

So, now it's lunchtime, then I'm going to either do some gardening or sew the bedroom curtain that I cut out yesterday. I'll make that decision after lunch.

Club tonight for the membership draw, which I think is now $700 - that would be useful, and hopefully get a game of snooker.

Have an awesome afternoon everyone.

So much for the quiet day lol. MrK repaired a piece of vacuum cleaner for dad's lady friend so I took it back to dad for her to pick up. While there I pruned his grapevine and chatted with my uncle. Got soaked through while cleaning up the vine prunnings but home now. Had a hot shower and feel a lot better. Didn't realise just how cold I was until my shower.

Time for some knitting I think.

It has been a raw cold today. I was cold when I got back from mitre10.

But the sun did come out, so I planted my daffodils. Sadly alot of them had dried up and were just shells. But I went to the garden they came from and managed to find enough to fill the huge pot I wanted them in.

Noticed that the bluebells are popping their leaves through too.

Tried to have tea and a friend called just as I was about to eat and another just before I was finished. Ive called on back, the other has to wait for tomorrow.

Am tired tonight so no craft.

Stay warm..

Morning
Sorry can't help palmycritter.
Was a lovely day yesterday so had a great gardening day and finally managed to hack the top off the feijoa, quite an effort but great to get it finished.
Late pm finally got to the supermarket to get the eggs for the cake I had to make for today. Pottered around and got a few more things and heading to the check out when remembered that I hadn't brought my purse with me doh!! Had grabbed the shopping bags but left the purse on the table so a quick trip home and back again to reclaim my shopping and pay for it. Fortunately I hadn't walked over as I would have if bit more organised.
Finally got the cake made and iced before bed time.

Pot full of daffodils will be gorgeous Popeye. I have a narrow strip of garden along the drive fence which has yellow narcissus bulbs which Dad planted when moved here in 1979 and they flower every year although totally neglected in between times. They are in flower at the moment. But any daffy that I have planted just don't seem to want to flower.

Better grab a coffee and get going for the day.

Morning ladies, another thick fog and cold, so I have just lit the fire.

I was really tired last night so made the mistake of going to bed early, slept really well for a while, and then tossed and turned for ages and when I finally put the light on it was 4am, and haven't been back to sleep since. Can't have a nana nap this afternoon as it's my afternoon at mah jong, and then am supposed to be going for a walk with the neighbours at 5pm so I should sleep well tonight.

Sewed the seams on my curtain yesterday and pinned the hem and the tape on, so the plan is to finish it this morning and then iron and hang it. That's the plan - see how far I get!

Went to the club last night. Had arranged to meet a friend there. Walked in, put my cue case in the snooker area, went over to the bar and got a glass of wine, and my friend was sitting with her back to the bar, so I went up behind her and said "oh you're here already" but when the lady turned round, it wasn't my friend at all. I felt such a twit. She looked like the back view of my friend. I apologised and quickly went to the snooker area.

palmycritter - sorry I can't help you either, I never use anything thicker than double knit so I know I won't have any - have you tried on facebook on the "yarn destashers" group or on ravelry?

Have a super day everyone.

morning ladies. I'm sorry as well palmycritter, I also don't knit anything thicker than double knit so won't have it either.

I can see some early cheer daffs in flower from my window, very early for them. And the freesias are up and the daphne is in flower. Once the bin man has been I'll finish my own pruning and I have a wee bit of weeding to do.

So still plenty to do outside and then knitting this afternoon.

happy knitting :)

Morning everyone, fog again this morning. But it wasnt too cold at 6am when I got the rubbish bag out.

And yet another one who doesnt knit thicker than Dk either. Hope you manage to find some Palmycritter.

Slept in till 8-40am which is very late for me... Must have needed it tho.

We were talking about gardening this morning. We will use the boards that have been the edge of the garden and turn them into two small planter boxes. For Butter beans, havent grown them for years. And will have the runner beans on the fence, which if it fines up this afternoon we will put back into the garden. Will also have a few lettuce too.. And will try some tomatoes in buckets.
I miss being able to go and pick veges.

Need to wipe around my windows this morning.. Ill get MrP into the dishes.

Then I hope to knit again later, finally.

Have a fab day everyone

Well my morning didn't go to plan because I decided (in my wisdom) that I would do the rates rebate application before doing the sewing. I spent over an hour searching for the info that I needed to fill the form in, and couldn't find the papers anywhere. I gave up. Then I walked into the wardrobe in the main bedroom and here on the dressing table was a couple of folders with all the info I needed. I actually remembered putting it in there a while back, but then forgot all about it. Grrrr.

So I haven't done the application, might do that tonight. I've done the sewing on the curtain, but won't iron and hang it now - probably do it tomorrow.

Ive had a wooly morning, two parcels arrived from a swap I did. approx 50 balls of flurry eyelash yarn.

Have washed around the windows, feels much nice now. MrP has done the dishes Yay

The sun is out now, so Im hoping MrP will have the energy to still want to put the bean fence up again..

Fingers Crossed
