I reckon you can never have too much wool either

#Post

Thanks for that gerry64 - have just checked out love knitting. Unfortunately the 4 ply merino baby wool I am after is more expensive than some of the other sites I have seen. Hope you get your order delivered soon - gosh that all sounds very frustrating!!

Thanks for that gerry64 - have just finished having a look and it's a very good price too. Also postage is only about $4.95 for any amount which is also brilliant ????

morning ladies :) Looks like it's going to be a miserable day today, was freezing here yesterday. I need to get back into the garden so am thinking if it doesn't rain, I can wrap up warmly and just do what I have to.

I had another yoga lesson last night and found this lesson a bit more challenging but I slept really well! I practice when I can and I think this helps as well.

I've started knitting a scarf using the silk/Leicester mix wool/yarn I bought from Love Knitting and am now not sure of the colour way. Will keep going as the pattern starts with the edging and all these yon's can be a bit deceptive sometimes colour wise.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone

Have just had 30 mins trying to get the stupid tv working.. GRRR hate it when things wont work like they should. But its going now so hopefully my BP will settle down again.

Got alot of my blanket done yesterday, only a couple of colour changes to go. Being striped it feels like its grown fast. I think I only started it on Friday? so its been a fast one, as I didnt do any on Sunday.

MrP didnt have a good day yesterday. Went to bed about 3pm, got up once and went back to bed. hes feeling better this morning.

We had fog this morning. Not cold tho.

Right now Im delayed for the rest of the day grrr lol

Have a fab day everyone

Afternoon all - was a grey drizzly morning here but turned into a beautiful blue sky day- ran into an old workmates from donkeys years ago of MrG - he didn't know he had died so that was a bit difficult - but we ended up having a good laugh about some of the old times - they had several work trips to Japan together
Cleaner has been while I was out - she does a very good job - has problems relating to people so is over the moon my DIL has now organised her 6 cleaning jobs - she prefers to be here on her own which doesn't worry me at all
Have stalled again on both dolly and the blanket need the old boy to get me into gear

Parcel just arrived - unbelievable yes it is acrylic not cotton but now it is DK weight not Aran - I give up

Afternoon ladies.

Oh really gerry, that's awful. It has put me right off ordering from them again. Have you been in touch with them yet, I suppose it's the middle of the night over there. Could you sell it on here, and buy what you need elsewhere or will you return it - and if you return it do you have to pay the freight or do they because it was their error?

Went to knit and natter this morning. Seemed to be more people there than there has been lately.

No news much at the moment. Think it's time I had some lunch, then I might just put my feet up and knit for a while. Yes, there's housework to do but I don't feel like doing it. Was tired last night so went to bed early and woke at 2.30, and couldn't get back to sleep. If I sit I might just doze off.

Have a lovely afternoon everyone.

kuaka - 2017-05-24 14:14:00

Sold it on the destashers site - lost some money on it - but I am already waiting for a credit of $159 on the cotton they sent in error previously - it seems like my orders just landed in a loop of incompetence
They refund the freight after they receive the goods back - last one the postage was nearly $60 this was a bigger order so would probably be $70 - as long as the parcel gets back there and they credit you it's ok but it is risky

gerry64 - 2017-05-24 15:35:00
12010

Oh that's no good Gerry64 - don't think I will try ordering anything from them!! Where are they based?

candyfloss - 2017-05-24 15:36:00
12011

Candy floss In the UK - to be fair I have ordered from them before and have had no problems but these orders have just gone from one error to the next - were not small orders - they advised me in one email part of each order had been despatched from UK and the rest from USA -

gerry64 - 2017-05-24 16:47:00
12012

I think I would be trying somewhere else too by now Gerry. I'm sure you have broken any records for the most glitches in an order!

Was tidying up a pile of sacks out at the factory and found where the rat had been hiding - what a stink!! It hadn't actually chewed up much but had left its 'calling cards'. Put down some more rat bait, the last one disappeared over night guess they will be looking for warmth at the moment.

Feel like knitting socks again - must be the colder weather, thought I had some wool but must have used it last year so will go and get some more naked wool and see what coloured combinations I can make this time.

jayemtoo - 2017-05-24 18:40:00
12013

morning ladies :) I unpicked the scarf I was knitting as the colourway did not suit the pattern, I think the pattern called for a plain colour. So have started another.

Today though I'm volunteering at school to empty the compost bins, no rats please! jayemtoo, they say this year we will have an abundance of rats as it was a good breeding season. I think I heard pawsteps in the ceiling yesterday again so need more bait. And I have trapped three mice over three days. They can't resist the Furry One's kibble!

Happy knitting :)

Morning ladies, well my rat bait seems to be disappearing fairly rapidly, it is in the cupboard under the sink in the kitchen, but a couple of days ago when I walked into the bathroom I got a whiff of something not very nice coming from the vent in the ceiling, so I'm thinking rattie may have crawled into the ceiling and croaked. It wasn't as bad as the smell back in the summer was but it was the same kind of smell.

Making good progress with the second Gallatin scarf, only started it at knit and natter yesterday and should finish it tonight (if I don't nod off in the chair).

Don't think the weather knows what to do at the moment, it's overcast, cool and no wind. I should be going out to the boat, but I'm hoping to go on Saturday and take a friend with me to give me some advice on how to fix a couple of things out there, and I really don't want to go twice in a few days.

Have a super day everyone.

kuaka - 2017-05-25 08:37:00

Morning everyone
Our mice were eating the bait for over a week before they stopped. Touch wood no evidence of any returning at this stage.
Foggy here, I admit I love fog... reminds me of home lol..

A quick shopping trip this morning. Just to the supermarket and then home.

Ive done the main part of the blanket.. 4 days, started last friday but didnt do any on Sunday. So will get the border done later. Just need to check on the other one I have to see what I did in the corners.

The lady is coming to pick up the two granny square blankets this afternoon. Yay. Ill be pleased to see the back of them lol, and the money is going to be handy.
Theres a group of brothers / cousins here who are saving up to buy a motorbike. They are hiring themselves out (5 of them) for $35 an hour to do garden work, painting etc.. So only $7 each an hour. They do an awesome job and get alot done in the time. So we will get them in to do the Major clean up and then keep them coming throughout the year to keep the gardens clean. Ill feed them too, cos its a cheap price but boys all like their food.

Right better get cracking.

Have a fab day all

Morning all - drizzly grey day but may clear quite quickly I think
I had a pest exterminator here yesterday to put bait stations around outside- he told me a rat can compress the bones in its head and get through a whole the size of a mans thumb
Popeye those blokes are a good deal for sure and it's good to support people on a mission

phew, what a day. Compost bins have been emptied at school and lovely compost moved into one bin which frees up others for filling. It has taken all day to do it with the help of students but the 'compost area' is looking good. And there were no rats thank goodness.

Will do the dishes and then time for some knitting I think :)

12018

morning ladies. Well so much for knitting, I was pretty tired so didn't bother. Knew I would end up unpicking.

Back in the classroom today (every Friday), the kids were so surprised to see me yesterday in jeans and gumboots lol. Teachers wearing jeans to this school is a big no-no. Will take my gumboots in the car as I know we will end up outside around the compost bins at some stage. And will take my loppers too as there is a bit of pruning another teacher wants to do.

Better get cracking. Happy knitting :)

What a great effort Kiwimade, and marvellous learning for the children, another generation will be taking interest in making their own gardens.
This 'generation' needs to take interest in her own garden today - it's looking rather neglected!
But first I will go to,Hastings as have a few messages to do there but it looks like the day is going to be lovely so will get going soon.

Went to Skeinz yesterday and brought naked sock wool - got a bit carried away and brought 10 lots thinking i can dye it and have it ready instead of wanting to knit socks but have to dye it first. Had a lovely afternoon dyeing 4 lots which are now drying. One lot is rather bright fortunately boots are in fashion so can be hidden.

Have started a little white cardigan for nieces little girl to fill in until the sock wool is ready.

Enjoy your day Everyone

Morning all - yes it is a beautiful morning
The kids would love you doing something different with them kiwimade - my 10 year old granddaughter went out last weekend to an open day at a lovely school she hopes to go to next year for her first what we used to call intermediate - she told me when she went through the gates she felt like the school was cuddling her - she lives in a parallel universe I am sure - the teachers say she is a pleasure to teach - very hard to keep her mind on math but she is very creative musically and art - she would love you to teach her
The weeks sure are flying - my grandson wants me to knit him a jersey - not ordering the wool from LoveKnitting - think I will hop over to skeinz - he says he wants yellow but I think he means cream - will take him with me just to make sure - poor old dolly something else joining her in the queue for attention
Off to the doctor today to get my BP pills - wouldn't be surprised if it is up a bit what with rats and things
Have a good day

Morning everyone.
Soo pleased Kids are learning about gardening etc these days. Probably in alot of cases their parents wont know anything about it. Growing a better generation.
Its lovely here today, I have to pop up the road and do my blood and post the rainbow blanket. The lady came an picked up the two single blankets.. pphew, theres always doubt in your mind if they might get cancelled etc.

Last year I got some wool from our recycle shop to make pet blankets for the spca, well I gave it a try last night and it feels horrible. Its synthetic and hard. So Im going to get all the odd balls, nuggets, thinner yarns etc and crochet some small blankets.. Ill use 8ply double so they will be that bit thicker.
I better get cracking, Erin comes today. I have a few extra little bits Ill get her to do, like replacing a light bulb and hanging the tray that she gave me for my birthday. Shes got a couple of inches on me and can reach higher. Im shrinking lol.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning ladies, not sure what the weather will do today, we had some very heavy rain during the night, it's partly cloudy but the sun is shining, I can see it's windy but it doesn't seem too cold.

Have a really exciting day planned today (not). Take the recyclables to the tip, post a parcel, shorten a pair of trousers, and then go up to one of the neighbours for pizza and wine (that should be fun) but the rest won't be.

I might even pull a few weeds while the ground is wet and it's not too cold, but I'll see how I feel when I've done the other things.

Popeye last time I was at the warehouse I treated myself to a 3-step step ladder, it's aluminium so it's light, it has two ordinary steps and the third is like a platform and it has a frame that extends beyond the platform so you should feel more secure when you stand on the platform. I get sick of doing things like changing light bulbs standing on a dining room chair especially now that I've changed chairs and these aren't as firm in the seats as the old ones. Mr K used to just reach up and change the bulbs without needing anything to give him extra height.

I've just been naughty and ordered some wool from "uberyarns". Oh dear. Will I never learn.

Have a super day everyone.

We have a stepladder and a smaller step thingee to stand on too Kuaka. I cant do stairs with my stupid knee. Still cant put all my weight on it yet. And the stand thing and I still dont reach the light socket, its a recessed one, or I might have been able to reach. Annoying tho.

Ive lost height since my heart opp, quite common apparently cos you never quite stand as straight as you once did.

Ive got lots of little bits of odd yarns out and have done the chain to start a blanket, I dont really know what size to make them. But I figure if they are too small for the dogs they will be ok for the cats and kittens.

Ive not heard of uberyarns.. Should I be looking? No harm in looking I suppose lol I dont have anywhere to store any more wool lol

Thinking my INR wont be good today, it didnt want to stop for a while this morning.

Edit to add... Woah expensive yarn, most of which I cannot use anyway due to the "Other" wools like mohair etc etc

What a lovely surprise. Had a phone call from the medical centre that I have been giving bits of knitting to for several years now saying that there was something there for me to pick up. Went in this am and they had collected a rather generous Koha. Most unexpected and a bit embarrassing but do know that the knitting is really appreciated there.
Will have to get more wool to knit for them lol.

Morning ladies, yes, it is nice to be appreciated, even though we don't do it for monetary rewards, it is lovely to think your efforts are appreciated enough for the recipients to make an effort and give you something in return.

Not sure what to do today. Asked one of the neighbours if he would come out to the boat with me today to look at some work that needs doing, last week he said he would but I sent him a text a couple of days ago suggesting we go today if the conditions are right and haven't heard from him. The thick fog that was blanketing everything when I got up has just cleared, but starting to come back again. There is no wind, but the forecast wasn't much good. Might have to knit instead!

Mah jong at the club this afternoon.

Went up to one of the neighbours for pizza and wine last night and had another lovely evening, have to have them here again soon I think.

Have a super day everyone.

It's been bucketing down here so I'll have to flag mowing the lawn. Will do housework instead and maybe some knitting this afternoon. Was pretty tired last night, crashed on the couch early without touching my needles.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone.
We are going out today, MrP needs new jammies so we will pop up to Kmart. They have big sizes. And I found a very cheap fruit shop so we will be going there on the way home. For us and 2 friends.. for example bags of granny smith apples, with over 8 in the bag cos thats what I could see in the photo for $1 a bag,, but lots of other things too and lettuce for $1-99.

Might have lunch out for a change and just take things slowly.

I have learnt that crocheting two strands of DK is hard on the fingers and thumbs lol... Nice and thick but not soo good on the arthritis lol.. So Im going to do blankets for next year, but just use single strands lol... Stupid hands.

Right I better get stuff sorted on here and then get cracking.

Have a fab day everyone

Good morning - dull grey day here rain not too far away I think - no dog park today
Jayemtoo what a nice gesture - when you do something because you see a need as you do and something comes back it's special
Have a lunch date with my ten year old granddaughter - she lives in a very different bubble - extremely gifted in art and music and has a fantastic sense of humour so looking forward to lunch -
The pizza night with the neighbours sounds like fun Kuaka - have a lovely family over the back who are really struggling - the children pop in and out so yesterday we made Edmonds cake in a cup - I thought it was a cake mix when my son included it in my groceries - but you just stir it with milk and a minute in the microwave they had a lovely salted caramel choc chip cake to run home with to their mum -had a laugh one of them said I looked Ike his teacher - but she is smaller and her hair is different colour and she hasn't got glasses and she walks quick - so with a chuckle in my head I wondered if the only similarity was we were female -

Morning
Slow start to the day if you don't count the few hours spent reading and knitting in the very early hours! I find if I can't sleep just ignore it and do something relaxing and what's more relaxing than knitting lol. It worked and got some more good sleep.
Sounds like you will have lovely company for lunch Gerry.

Have to go feed Sister's cat and give it some medication as they are away this weekend. So hope the rain stays away so can walk over and save me having to go out later. Might continue on to Taradale and get some wool as lady at Med. Centre yesterday asked if I would knit some tv slippers for her kids don't usually like taking orders as puts pressure on but could scarecely refuse when they had been so nice.

Also want to do a bit of sewing and make wrist protectors so watch and Fitbit don't get so dusty when helping BiL.
Better not fritter the day away.

time for a cuppa, MrK is putting a shelf in a cupboard. So much wasted space in some of our cupboards with huge gaps between the shelves.

Had to chuckle at your neighbour's kids Gerry, funny how their minds work. I can finally access my school e mails and there were two e mails sitting there from students I had taught the other week thanking me for being their teacher. Was just lovely reading them. I've replied too.

Almost finished housework, dusting and vacuuming to do then I can set the clothes airer up and put the washing on it. The Furry One is hanging around, he knows my housework routine and knows the vacuum will be coming out shortly. He loves to 'protect' me and vacuuming with an eight kilo dog attached to the vacuum cleaner gives me an extra work out lol.

Better get cracking or there will be no time for knitting.

Afternoon ladies, well I've had a frustrating morning. Lost one of my favourite knitting needles overnight. Was using it when I fell asleep in the chair last night, this morning I've lost half the stitches off what I was knitting and lost one of the needles. Searched for it (suspect the chair has gobbled it up) but I've put my hands down the sides of the chair, found a stitch marker, turned the chair upside down, but would have to unstaple the fabric underneath to see if it's in there, can't hear anything rattling, so I've shortened a long one. That involved using the vice, side cutters, hacksaw and glue. But at least I have another one now, just have to hope the knob stays on.

Then I went to an open home. The place is on the market for nearly $100,000 more than the agent recently reckoned my place is worth. It's smaller, has no view, (the kitchen looks out onto the roof of the house next door - mine looks right up the harbour) and the kitchen itself is about 40 years old, very dated. Think I'll stay put.

Not sure if we will be able to play mah jong at the club today as there's a funeral there at the moment. If everyone is still there at 1.30 we might have to rethink it, maybe come here to play.

Coffee time.

Hi Mom we're Home lol...

Have had a lovely day, with no appointments and just taking our time. Mrp walked through Kmart with me and then the rest of the time he stayed in the car. But I told him Im going to be browsing which I did.
Went to the new vege shope I heard about on facebook and got 9 bags of apples, 2 bags carrots, 3 bags feijoas, a pumpkin, 2 lettuces and 1 bag kiwifruit.. All for $22-98. Some were for two friend sisters.. Its sooo cheap there. I thought that $4-99 was still dear for cabbage, but I wish I had got one tho cos they are now $7-49 at new world.
Apparently there was a lady at New World yesterday who paid $2 for ONE passionfruit. I said to MrP we are millionaires then cos we have alot of pulp in the freezer.

Have done my top up at Ne wwprld so apart from going to get meds on Tuesday I shouldnt have to go out again until shoping day

And Noo I wasnt in the sightest interested in going to Spotlight lol.

Tired bones, but its been a good day.

Morning
Wow that's a good bargain Popeye. The nice little vegetable shop near me shut a few months back so have been using the supermarket but some of the produce there is so sad looking and expensive. Have been told of another place not too far away so will go check it out soon.

Dyed 2 more lots of wool yesterday, this time in blue shades, got the sewing machine out and it is so good to use since I had it serviced recently it's an old basic one but usually runs very well.

Wanted to knit a present for a man but couldn't think what as dont really know size and colour preferences etc but he does play golf so am knitting a couple of golf stick covers - no idea why you want to keep them warm lol. But ithey are quick and easy and a bit novel I guess. Then back to the cardy I guess. Have so many things I want to knit at the moment it seems.

morning ladies :) arrgg frustrating isn't it loosing your things, especially when it is your favourite! Well done on making another needle though kuaka, necessity is the mother of invention they say. I can't understand the real estate agent's logic when valuing your property. Your home sounds much nicer with better views.

That was good buying popeye, especially for the lettuce. Even without the flooding and rain, lettuce is usually expensive this time of the year. Our son saw figs a the supermarket in Hamilton not long ago, $8 for four! And we were just munching our way through a small tree full.

We have a few indoor things to do for my sister that she can't manage herself so that's pretty much our day organised.

Knitting later on I think.

Have a good one!

Morning ladies, well we ended up playing mah jong yesterday at the club, we just didn't play in our usual spot, but went down into the snooker/pool area and sat at a high table on bar stools beside the TAB - the commentary of the horse racing was a bit annoying, but we coped and enjoyed it and I had a few wins which is more than I have done for weeks.

Wish we had a veg shop here popeye - apparently we used to have one years ago but it closed before I moved here, the butcher also closed, and now Hammer Hardware has gone, two of the banks have gone, the vet went last week and I heard that the florist is going too. Be nothing left soon but souvenir shops, and real estate agents.

Very frustrating as I want to get out to the boat, the tide is high, there is no wind, but there is fog. If it clears before the tide drops too far I will go. If not, it will have to wait till later in the week.

Didn't watch any tv last night, fell asleep in the chair, but at least I didn't lose another needle!

Have a super day everyone.

Slept like a log last night, I which id had a pedometer yesterday cos I walked more than I have in a long time. Knees were good tho, just had tired feet.
Wow kuaka sounds like your town will simply be for tourists not locals. Its sad, we lived in a town that nearly closed. but its now growing again which is good.
Sounds like MrP is up, he was planning on sleeping later but my phone went so I guess thats the end of his snoozing.

Morning Ladies, Slow start for the day as it's raining and cold.Out all day yesterday at Book Art Group. It's once a month and yesterday we had a guest tutor for the day. Lots of fun.laughly and good company once we got the power back on. No one was told there be not power in the morning till 12.We got our pages and covers ready to stitch in the afternoon.

With all the problems getting your wool orders from overseas, why not try some local business houses.Have a look at ' Woolrae'(trademe name). I have purchased some lovely wool from her over the years for gifts and knitted with it as well.(just saying, ladies). If we don't suport our local NZ supplies we end up with all inported yarn.

Popeye what great veggie bargains you got at the veggie shop. We buy all ours from a local roadside business if it not in our garden.Yes, I have got it up and growing veggies in it again.S/market veggies look sad and not fresh to me either Jayemtoo.

Off now to check on my soup and the bread rolls for lunch.Have some leftover for lunches during the week.
.May get to pick up some needles later today.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

well we're back from my sisters, have hung pictures and a blind for her. Thank goodness MrK has all the tools needed for these types of things.

I support local and some not-so local wool shops sunflowers but I can't always find what I want. I want to try different fibers such as the yak and buffalo wool so need to buy that online.

Time for some knitting me thinks.

I buy from some sellers on TM too. But I do prefer a couple of english acrylic brands.. Soo soft and far better value for money.

Ive had a reasonably busy day. Have done several loads of washing but still have sheets and towels to do. Another day tomorrow..

Everything is dry, folded and put away apart from MrPs new jammies.. They will need shortening, but he has said he doesnt care if they are long.

Ive undone the crochet I did the other day and will start using single strands again tonight maybe.

Have a good night everyone

Morning ladies, we've got a real "pea-souper" this morning, I can hardly see the garden let alone beyond it. Hope it clears away soon.

Op shop this morning. Might try to do some gardening this afternoon and then go to the club this evening for the membership draw and hopefully a game of snooker.

Cooked myself a nice little roast chicken last night with roast veg and green beans out of the garden, very nice for a change. I'll have chicken and chips tonight and there will be enough chicken left for me to do a chicken stir fry or curry tomorrow. Good value - although Mr K would have looked at it and said it was a sparrow not a chicken. It was quite small.

That's a shame popeye, that you've undone your work, but if you weren't happy with it and it was difficult to do, it's best you don't put any more effort into it. You will be happier using single strands and the result will probably be better.

Right I had better press on.

Have a super day everyone.

Hi, Everyone, early start as I have to take Mr S over to the hospital for Day Surgery this morning. Hopefully, with injection etc, they are giving him he will get some rest and sleep.
Clear sky at present hopes it stays fine as a friend and I are going to do the shops while in Hastings.

Worked on another book last night, have pages folded and prepared a cover. With my friend on holiday, we have planned to do lots of crafting over the next couple of weeks.
Hope everyone has a great weekend doing lots of crafting.

Yes, ladies, there are lots of interesting yarns to work with and for us to enjoy. As I said, it was just a suggestion and don't want to upset anyone.
Happy Crafting and enjoy your day
Cheers for now

morning ladies :) Not upset at all sunflowers :) Those books you make sound interesting.

We've noticed a roast chook goes that bit further now the kids have left home. This time of year I'll make either a chicken pie or a bit of soup with the leftovers. Never thought of a curry.

I'm out in the garden today as this week is my only 'free' week for a bit as we are solidly booked with students and my teaching. MrK wants to cut out a useless grapevine today as well so we will working together.

Didn't do any knitting again, was just too tired. Will aim to do some today.

Happy knitting :)

Morning
Yes it's clearing at the moment so hope it stays that way. Was nice having a wet Sunday afternoon yesterday as got a lot of knitting done but that's enough rain for me now.

That's a thing with living alone a chicken goes a long way doesn't it Kuaka? Thank goodness I have a good sized freezer as I put meals in there if left overs. Also saves having to cook every day lol.

Occasionally I'll buy on line but much prefer actually seeing and feeling wool before buying so tend to buy locally but fortunately we have a few good wool shops here to choose from.

Onto sleeves of cardy want to finish it before the weekend.

Morning everyone
A nice day here, but the wind is meant to change to south westerlies so it will get cooler later.
Yep Ive undone the super thick piece. Didnt start a new blanket last night. We caught up on some of the celebrity chase shows.

Stewing the apples today. Im going to go back to using the microwave tho. granny smiths go nice and fluffy if done in the microwave. Im lucky to have 2 2 litre pyrex jugs so I will do two jugs today. Let it cool and freeze and do what ever is left tomorrow. MrP will peel, Ill use the mandolin to slice.

Will add a photo soon of my winnings from the wool lotto group Im in.

Yes, well in readiness for the recent visit of Paul and Axel I bought a roast of pork, much larger than I normally would, but we didn't eat it so it is still in the freezer. Have to use it next time I have visitors, or I will never be able to eat it all on my own.

Morning all - well not a great start to the day - went to lift the rubbish bag out of the rubbish bin to put in my supermarket trolley to wheel out to the gate - struggled to get it up into the trolley- was so heavy - then realised I had the bin and all up in the trolley ! Then collect the mail on the way back in letter from Winz they want a copy of the account in my name at the time of Philips passing - the copy I gave them at 20/2 is not acceptable to close my file on the fraudulent prescription cae - boy that makes my blood boil - anyway if they had looked at the copy I sent them at 20/2 was the account opening - he passed on 17/12 and I didn't get around to changing from our joint account until February - so off I go again to Winz -
Popeye what a lovely mix of wool and that missy of yours is very photogenic
I remember once when my oldest boy was about 13 he was invited to a birthday tea - the boy was one of 7 - they had roast chicken - one chicken between all those kids - my boy got a wing - but he was more concerned because he noticed the mum only had veggies
I go over to skeinz often - but they just didn't have the colours I needed for these special blankets I am making - it's when you want specific colours or a different yarn that you need to go off shore - in saying that I when I first came back I went to the local little wool shop and the woman stood in the doorway scratching her back with knitting needles that then went back in the rack - I asked if she had eyes for toys - she vaguely waved her hand and told me down the back - never did find them and never went back - not skeinz they are lovely
Well best go and walk some of this Winz frustration off - makes me really angry actually these paper shufflers wages could be going to this family over the back who are really struggling

morning ladies :) omg Gerry, you would think WINZ would just drop the whole thing. It's like banging your head on a brick wall at times.

I'm weeding dad's garden for him this morning as his brother is visiting from ChCh this week. Will be nice to have it all looking good. Then yoga tonight, am really looking forward to this lesson. It's the last of the 'beginners' class but I will repeat the classes when she runs another beginners course just to consolidate what I have learned. Then move onto the 'regular' class.

Knitting hopefully this afternoon.

Happy knitting

Morning ladies, oh Gerry, you poor thing, you must feel like throttling someone at WINZ by now. How ridiculous. I must admit I've had some dealings with WINZ which have left me shaking my head, but most of the time I've found them friendly and helpful.

Another calm day, no wind, but a bit foggy, again I'm thinking I should go out to the boat, but I don't feel like it. I will decide once I've had breakfast. It's my mah jong afternoon and my off-sider is sick with the 'flu so once again won't be there, which leaves me to collect the payments which isn't really a problem, just means I have to get there a bit early.

Went to the club last night, didn't win the membership draw, had one frame of snooker but played like a girl and my partner (usually a much better player than me) was even worse, so we conceded the frame, and I came home.

Fell asleep last night in the chair halfway through a row of knitting, when I only had two rows to go and cast off the scarf I was doing, but I've finished it this morning. Just got a couple of ends to darn in.

Didn't do any weeding yesterday, might try to do some this morning if I don't go to the boat.

Have a super day everyone.

Morning everyone.

Gerry Id go to citizens advice and get an advocat to go to WINZ with you. And Id also try and see someone Higher Up. This stuff they are putting you through is rediculous. And stress you dont need.

Had a nice time doing the apples. have now got 8 x 450 grams and one of 225 grams of apple in the freezer. And considering they were granny Smith I probably only used 1 cup of sugar. They were quite sweet. I like to leave a little tartness to them.

Have to pop up the road this morning to get the lawnmowing money and pick up MrPs insulin. We both have to see the dr to get our meds tomorrow.
So much for not having to to out till thusrday lol..

Will get some Twisties for a friend who very low on funds for the next two weeks, Vet Bills... and she may also have a trip tp Te Puke as her Aunt has had a massive stroke and not expected to pull through. So Ill get her some twisties as a wee pick me up treat.

Still havent started an crochet lol... But it will always be there

Have a fab day everyone
