Morning everyone.
Sunny but cloudy here.

I have either 1 or 3 rows left to do on the cushion. I will get an inner out to measure it on later. They are in a bag under MrP's bed. And hes in there sulking cos I wont buy him a skill saw. so he can sulk away, im trying not to take any notice. but Im also tired and sore so its there.

Shopping this morning, by myself if he doesnt rattle his daggs.

Have a good day all.. it will be better than mine Im sure

Morning all bright sunny morning but had an awful night so not feeling sunny!
I use circular needles all the time now - even for straight Knitting - find proper needles feel so much heavier so to speak - was having trouble with my wrists but since I have been using my circulars have had no problems
Heading out to the park to walk my blues away - then better get cracking on my projects - have to finish off a hat I am making mum for Mother's Day as well as this blimmin doll

morning ladies :) MrK made our daughter a spindle smj2016, not sure if she has used it yet though. Seems a no fuss way of spinning too.

Today I'm expecting my wool order so will wait and see on that one. Will get housework done and the phlox and irises need cutting back for winter as well. Gerry has sent me some sock patterns and I've you tubed how to cast on using the toe-up method so will have a tutu with that this afternoon too. It's different to how I have cast on before but different can be good, right? And I like trying new things and learning new skills.

Happy knitting :)

Morning
I too use my circulars for all knitting now, they are wooden and certainly easier on the wrists.
I also do toe up socks Kiwimade, and now do both together which I learnt off YouTube, took a bit of sitting at the computer the first few times but seems so much quicker and don't get the second sock syndrome.

Off to Wellington soon taking the little ones home. They have been so good 4 days is a long time for their first holiday away from parents but they have coped very well. I'll stay there a few days as the other Grandmother who was going to help out next week has had an accident and now can't come. Have checked out the met service and packed winter clothes haven't had to wear them here yet. Also sorted out wool and needles - actually that was done before the clothes were packed - got to get my priorities right!

Have a good day Everyone

Morning everyone.
A lovely day...

I didnt get any craft done yesterday. It wasnt a good start to the day. But then I decided to bake after lunch. Three hours later I could barely walk.. oops lol.. I sort of stumbled up the street and jarred my left knee, then stood unevenly on the wee step into the garage and that jarred the rest.
So by the time id finished i was stuffed to be honest.
No chance I was going to cook, and since I hadnt out the car away we decided to try a different fish and chip shop. Food was lovely but I will ask them to drain it alot longer.

I made two banana cakes for my friends birthday. one for her and one for the boys at work tomorrow. And some of my fave choc chip peanut brownies, some Yo-yo's for MrP and a chocolate cake, which I will ice this morning. Havent made yo-yo's for years. will join them too.
But I will never bake in the afternoon again,, wayyy to hot lol.

Have dug out the cushion inners so I can measure the one Im doing.. I think Ill have to do a few more rows.
And our house lady will be here later today so im going to get her to wash around the kitchen window and then hang a new net curtain for me.

And that will be my day.

Safe travels Jayemtoo.. Have fun with the needles Kiwimade.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning ladies, I had an early start to the day even though I'm late on here. I went for a walk with two of the neighbours at 7.30, and then we stopped for a coffee on the way home, and then I walked up to the cemetery to say good morning to Mr K. One of the neighbours walked up there with me, the other had gone on home as she had to work (she works from home). By the time I got in it was just after 10. Shower and breakfast and the morning is almost gone, but I think for me it's a more suitable time to go for a walk than in the evening.

No plans for today. Will potter round doing some housework (maybe) and might do some sewing and maybe later still I will make a start on the flipping owl blanket I said I would do. Me and my big mouth!

Safe travels jayemtoo. Keep warm.

Have a super day everyone.

Afternoon all - beautiful day here - Jayemtoo your trip would be lovely - heading that way in the autumn is stunning especially on a day like this
I love you tube - I feel the need to learn new things regularly - my attention span has never been brilliant - my son gave me an apple stick so I can bring up the clip on YouTube and then if I struggle can put it up on the TV - mr G used to chime in with his tuppence worth and was often able to see what I was doing wrong
Popeye the baking sounds so yummy - I used to love baking but now only do a one off specific thing - was thinking of selling my big kitchen aide beater it is just gathering dust
Feel for you re the owl blanket Kuaka - a year of two ago a friend caught me at a weak moment and I agreed to make her grandson a Thomas the tank engine jersey -it was not an easy fair aisle at all - and after all that effort the child spilt Fanta on it and in the washing machine it went - shrunk !
Going to make the Pom Pom for mums hat - the doll is still laying there neglected

I know what you mean gerry, and my sister-in-law was quite insistent that the mother-to-be wants everything in "neutral" colours, nothing "gender-specific" and when I asked what she wanted, she said "grey, fawn, cream, navy blue etc". I almost groaned out loud. "Poor little mite" I could hear my grandmother whispering in my ear.

It's bad enough that I'm doing it, but to be doing it in boring colours. Groan. Anyway, I've only started it today, and I've done 3 squares this afternoon. Fortunately she doesn't want it cot size, but just a small one for a buggy or car seat.

kuaka - 2017-04-28 16:29:00
11810

ouch kuaka, they are dull colours, I'd add a purple or orange or something in there that isn't pink or blue lol.

My wool didn't arrive today but I suppose ANZAC Day would have slowed things down. It will be Monday now before any more mail is delivered as our rural delivery service has been cut.

I had the principal of a school phone me today offering me one day teaching a week until Christmas (covering maternity leave) and I have accepted. I start in three weeks so am looking forward to that. Maybe it will lead to something bigger and better, who knows. Have to take the chance anyhow. I've had to juggle some of our student bookings but that's ok too. So this year is going to get busier.

I've been practicing this toe up casting on and couldn't figure out where I was going wrong.... ooppss... lol... left handed me trying to follow the video clip. So I found one for us lefties and I kinda have it, just have to work the magic loop bit without dropping stitches lol. I feel like a newbie, all fingers and thumbs.

Ohh Gerry you lucky thing to have a decent mixer. I had mums old Kenwood till it finally gave up the ghost. I have asunbeam now but it never mixes the full bowl full. theres always an unmixed bit in the bottom.

Ohh those colours doo feel drab Kuaka.. Im with Kiwimade, Id have to slip something else in. Maybe yellow and green cos either wear those too.

Will be good to have your hand still in with work Kiwimade... Ask a busy person and all that too.

I ended up doing one more row on the cushion cover, in the yellow. Have it pinned up to join, so it may get done tonight. Then I can start back on the squares again. ive set myself a target of at least 4 a day.. and it wont take too long that way.

Pain still not good but better than this morning.

My house lady came and did the floors, including finding more evidence of what looked like a murder in the kitchen, a spilt red jelly that went everywhere, it looked like Id Spun around with it in my hands. She hung the new net in the windows and cheered MrP up too so it was lovely.

Just heard from my friend She LOVED the oxtail for her birthday. Cooked some today and enjoyed it.

Worth the effort Kiwimade - once you "get" it piece of cake my order didn't arrive either - oh well the doll might get some attention - I have just finished a entrelac beret for my mum - entrelac took me ages to get the hang of but am pleased with the end result - will take a photo tomorrow
Agree those colours are dull Kuaka

morning ladies :) I had another tutu last evening and I think I have this toe up business sussed. As long as I remember the top needle uses the bottom yarn and the bottom needle uses the top yarn I'm right. If MrK is going to be out in his workshop today I'll put the you tube clip on the TV rather than my lap top so I can sit comfortably to knit. Knitting at the desk can be a tad awkward.

I tried knitting entrelec a while ago Gerry, it's an interesting way to knit isn't it with knitting each bit individually. The effect is clever though.

happy knitting :)

Morning ladies, no walk for me this morning, I was still tossing and turning at 3am and hadn't slept in the chair last night either, so at 7 this morning I felt like a piece of chewed string. Got up and made a cuppa and took it back to bed, and have just re-surfaced, feeling only slightly awake. Anyway it's raining now.

I managed to get 7 squares done yesterday, (I've already darned the ends in on 6 of them) and they are five rounds, so I figure 5 x 5 might be big enough, and I'm not doing the owl on every one, thought every other one, so on square 1,3,5 on the first row and 2,4 on the second etc - so will need 13 owl squares and the rest just plain. I wonder if I can locate the packet of tiny black buttons I bought yonks ago for the eyes. I used a bit of mauve, teal and a deep terracotta/red. My sister said she would probably just put one owl square in the middle when I said the owls were fiddly.

Well done on the teaching job kiwimade. gerry I have two Kenwoods and at the moment one doesn't work because the on/off switch has fallen off, and the other one makes horrible noises as though a bearing needs replacing so I usually use the hand-held electric beater or the food processor. Food processor makes pastry in a jiffy.

I think I might go shopping this morning, I don't need much but I need a few bits, and I want to get some flowers for Mr K's grave (it's a year tomorrow). This afternoon I'm playing mah jong at the club.

The rain has just got heavier and "mistier" - my sea view has just vanished.

Have a super day everyone.

Morning everyone
Dark and gloomy here. had rain through the mnight, so not cold.

Will pop up to new world this morning. i was hoping not to, but Missy is whizzing through her bikkies, and they only had a small packet there on shopping day.
And i wont be going up tomorrow cos its the Annual Steele and wheels day here. When the roads are blocked off, markets, hot rods, planes trains and automobiles. i hope I can get through the planes again this year. Theres usually about 20,000 people in our little shopping area.

Have got the cushion pinned, didnt join it tonight So will do that and then list it on here.

Missy was hooning around last night.. had a cricket lol.

Wow a year already Kuaka, thats gone fast eh..

Mind you so has this year, nearly into the 5th months already.

Have a fab day everyone

morning all - like you kuaka sleep didn't come easy last night and I too feel like a wrung out dish cloth as my Mum would say - was hoping for rain so the dog park might be off the agenda
Here is my first attempt at entrelac -Not good photos and it still needs blocking which I should have done before the pompom -
https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/585646674.jpg
https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/585646799.jpg
I really enjoyed it once I got the hang of it- even learnt how to knit backwards across a short row
Yes the year is moving along quickly -and yet some days seem endless -yesterday at the dog park a lady started on about all her ailments and medical problems - I found myself thinking I would love to say to her you are lucky - you are here
That blimmin doll is beckoning - only have the straps to do on the pinafore - something to go under it might crochet a little top - and her bloomers so the end is in sight - don't mind the assemble bit - but have never made one with the head and body all in one piece
coffee awaits might wake me up a bit

gerry64 - 2017-04-29 09:57:00
11817

cuppa time, the last of the green tea our students gave us. A year tomorrow, wow, doesn't seem that long.

Well done on the entrelac hat Gerry, I gave up knitting the cot blanket I started using entrelac, drove me batty lol.

I have a sunbeam cake mixer, my sister now has my 30 year old hand held mixer. I make my own pastry too kuaka and yep, commented to mrK the other day while making the bacon and egg pie, food processors were made for pastry making!

This wet day is a good excuse to knit these socks. MrK is making pea and ham soup for dinner so that's organised. The Furry One hates being wet so is snuggled up on the couch. When I sit there he moves over and snuggles into me. A bit of a pain at times but nice to know he's there.

kiwimade64 - 2017-04-29 10:16:00
11818

Ohhh I love the hat Gerry... Now I know what your talking about re the entrelac.
Ive been up the road. raining now, but managed to stay dry.

I can see the lanlord to the house over the back is there with a trailer, and can hear a chainsaw so im hoping they will do the privet thats just over the fence from our dining room window.. Fingers crossed...

Our blackberries have well and truely had it. soo much rain and not enough sun to make them hang on. And that plants look unwell too. So will see what happens in springtime and if they dont bounce back we will take them out. And probably not replace them.

My baby gurl is curled up on my bed and will most likely spend all day there. Poor thing, I had cramp down the inside of my thigh this morning and stood up fast, and nearly stood on her tail, didnt hurt her but gave us both a fright.

Some of the knitted toys Ive done gerry had 70 plus pieces, sometimes it is hard to stay focussed.. I always did the big bits first.

Right a play on here and then Ill get the cushion done.. lol

Afternoon from a dull, wet Wellington. It was so nice and sunny yesterday until we hit the Rimutakas and wind and rain hit us full force so knew we heading into Wellington.

Know just what you mean Kiwimade getting which top and bottom yarns sorted. I also sometimes end up with the first row inside out but no one else seems to notice so I too ignore it.

Love the hat Gerry and the colours are great.

The kids travelled very well, we only stopped a couple of rimes for toilets and lunch and a bit of a play at Pahiatua. Was nearly hoarse though from telling stories.
Been out to Porirua this am so they could go swimming with a friend but as I hadn't thought to pack togs I was let off and poked around the mall instead.
Now having a quiet pm, I'm letting Dad entertain them while I knit.

Good they have got rid of the privet Popeye, think they should all be cut down was so pleased when we managed to convince the landlord of the back flat to remove the big one there.

11821

morning ladies :) Oh lucky you popeye about the privet! That should make a huge difference in the springtime. That plant is hell on earth for me in spring.

Just as well you packed warm clothes jayemtoo, the weather is certainly changing quickly now. It's another rainy day here so another day knitting these socks. I unpicked the beginning of the sock several times before I found my 'groove'. mrK said to me I'm sure I saw more knitting on your needle earlier lol. I'm out of practice with the magic loop and need to work on my tension. That will come though the more I knit. The yarn I'm using is German and a really pretty magenta and black. I think using pretty yarn is a good incentive to finish.

happy knitting :)

Monring everyone

Yes Kiwimade, Im kinda looking forward to springtime lol..

Knees are on the mend. Resting really does help hehe.

Finished the cushion last night and did two squares.. your right re working with colours you like Kiwimade. I struggled with the cushion. Will do photos later.

Organised this morning, I have a neck chop casserole in the crockpot for MrP. From the hogget and the chops were thick and huge lol. Have boiled and mashed eggs for his sammies for lunch.

So now I can sit and do squares to my hearts content.

The Steele and Wheels event is still on in town today. Was looking through the programm and it doesnt list the planes.. YAYay,

Have a fab day everyone

Morning all - dull drizzly day here - still in bed - certainly miss MrG bringing me a cuppa in bed on a day like today-have told the dog to go back to sleep unless something drastic happens and the weather improves we might be in bed for a while!
It certainly helps if the yarn is lovely when you are struggling - I think that is half the problem with my doll - my neice imported the wool the pattern designer recommended from Scotland - I think they spun the wool pack and threw out the fleece it is so hard and rough - the ply is uneven - awful
That privet is something well rid of Popeye - there was masses of it in Bathurst drove me insane
Have a good day everybody - if you are travelling today Jayemtoo take care

I had to unpick (queen of unpicking here lol) some of my sock at the heel flap so put my knitting down for a bit and came back to it a few hours later and bingo lol, nailed it. Next time I'll follow the instructions instead of going off on a tangent. Now to finish the leg part of the sock and start the second one. My tension still needs work but I actually have a sock on my needles that is wearable.

Happy knitting :)

Morning ladies, I'm hoping for a better day than I had yesterday. My lovely neighbour (the one who walked up to the cemetery with me the other day) invited me up to her place for drinks, and I said I would see how I felt, I might prefer to stay home on my own. I phoned and said I might go up for coffee, but in the end I just stayed home. I was quite teary a lot of the time. Had a long phone call from a friend who lost her husband five years ago and she assured me that the first anniversary is the worst, and now it's all behind me, first birthday alone, first Christmas alone etc, I can look forward to better times. I hope she is right. I felt I was doing well up to this point, and then "bang". Miserable.

I did quite a few more squares yesterday, and have done the eyes for several owls. I need another 6 owl squares and 4 ordinary ones, so shouldn't take me too long. After I had done the fifth round on them I thought I should have made the fifth round the same colour on all of them and joined them as I went. Too late now. I'm not going to make it 6 rounds or it will be bigger than I want it. I think I will just use a cream and either crochet or sew them together - undecided how to join them. Finishing it can't come quick enough then I can start something I want to do.

A definite nip in the air this morning but it is sunny so that's a bonus. I get the feeling that it's going to be a long hard winter - I do hope I'm wrong but it seems to be starting early.

Well done on the sock knitting kiwimade - I love wearing nice warm socks in winter but I am very slow at making them.

The cushion looks lovely popeye.

Have an awesome day everyone.

Morning Ladies. Sunny day after a very busy night of rain and winds. We have a busy street at present with guys laying down fibre cable. . Not sure if I will change over.

Busy week last week Mr S had an appointment a our local Medical Centre waited 45 mins and then told that the person was not coming over to run the clinic for 3 appointments will have to be rebooked and go over to Hastings Hosp errr.Mr S also had two other appointments as well.
In the meantime I was there with my Holter Monitor on which I had to wear for 48 hours. The monitor was to see if it can tell why I am having black outs. Had a fell over the w/end.Be interesting to see the results.

So not a lot of knitting done for a while now. Spend time cleaning and oiling my sewing machine as I have a few mending jobs to do and a set of curtains to make.Spend time out in the gardens as they badly needed cleaning up.

Looking forward to going this week to K'n'N this week. Hopefully finish my hat I am knitting. Kiwimade you are not the only who unpicks and re knits.Told I am The Queen of unpicking.LOL.

Good luck with your socks Kiwimade. Great news picking up a the teaching job. You never know could lead to more days..
Like the colours in cushion covers Popeye. Grey and yellow looks to be in colours at present. Pleased they have removed the privet. It be better for you and everyone else around you.
Good to hear you had Paul and his son over for a few days. You sure packed a lot in during his visit. Kuka where has the last year gone? You are doing so well.
Time to go now and hang out some washing. Have a covered in area at the back of the car shed I use on days like today or it would end up in some else's place with this wind that got stronger again..

Happy Crafting everyone and have a great day....

Morning all -freezing and blowing like mad but the sky is blue and there is a beautiful rainbow out my kitchen window - so that's a bonus
Another sleepless night - fell asleep in the chair yesterday afternoon which I knew would cause me problems last night getting to sleep
Well done with the sock kiwimade - I made dollies bloomers so another step closer - hoping I get it finished before my wool arrives because I don't think I will be able to resist getting started on my Tides of Change
Watched the controversial film 13 reasons on Netflix about bullying and suicide - very confronting - superb acting by the main two teenage actors
Kuaka I am dreading 30th September - we would have been married 50 years

Morning everyone
Thats actually just one cushion. The "front" is the side with the yellow X in the middle. Ive put it on FB and if someone wants another I will do it.. Otherwise if it doesnt sell it might end up being a birthday present for My Boys wife, she loves the colours.

Beautiful here. Windy but it wasnt cold at 6am. Went out to take the rubbish bag off the top of the recycle bin, to find the cats had been in it. Taped it up so I hope it holds when the guy picks it up.

Did my four squares yesterday, so long as I dont do less Ill be happy with that.

I was thinking the same yesterday Kuaka, Im hoping for a long cold winter.. Im ready for one lol. Missy sat on my knee for a few minutes last night, then spent most of the night laying on me in bed. So its cooling down for her at least lol.

Well done re the socks Kiwimade.. I wish I wore them cos theres sooo many pairs being made.

Have a fab day everyone

one sock is finished! And it fits too which is a bonus!

I've picked up some more teaching days so the next few months are going to be very busy along with the students we have booked in. There will be some weeks where I'm teaching three days in a row. If it leads to something permanent then well and good but if it doesn't, so be it.

(((hugs))) kuaka, you've had a rough year. Surely it can only get better from here on in.

gerry - that's a tough one. I must admit our wedding anniversary came and went without me even noticing - but that's because I can never remember the date, it's in September but I'm always hard pressed to say when, it's around the 10th (I think) - not even certain how many years it would have been. Funnily enough I still remember the date of my first marriage.

Afternoon,
Just back home and coffee time.
The cushion is lovely Popeye, not my colours either but beautifully done.
You're on a roll now Kiwimade and you will find knitted socks so comfortable to wear. Can you wear them when teaching?
Can appreciate your frustration Sunflowers - we were promised clinic facilities in Napier but I notice that more and more are Hastings only these days.

Walked Mr5 to school this morning in Wellington and the wind just went right through us so was pleased to get into my warm car and come home.
Had just got settled and the phone went it was a fellow ringing from "windows technology" I enthusiastically said how nice did he do double glazing or just single glazing? And he just hung up I wonder why?!! hehehe
Apparently that scam is on the go again - I don't even use windows.

Made a cat hat for a niece while in Wellington and nearly finished one for little miss 3 who fell in love her Aunt's one. The boy wants either a giraffe or a fish hat so will have to see what I can find think the fish would be easier.

That's what I was hoping jayemtoo, I had ankle surgery years ago and whenever my ankle gets cold, it aches. I'm hoping having nice warm socks for those playground duties will make a difference. And I have picked up even more days since my last post. Talk about feast or famine!

Morning everyone

We were close to a frost I think, if not it was a very heavy dew. beautiful day tho, and next to no wind.

Had an exciting time last night. I won in one of the wool lottos I play in, so have wool coming from 23 ladies, including our own Kuaka lol. Going to be the best birthday ever...

Have to pop up the road to get lawnmowing money, and then will crochet.

Ive done 12 squares, or one row already. Setting a challenge makes me work harder.

Hope everyone has a fab day

Morning everyone - freezing and windy but the sun is out and the sky is a beautiful blue so it's a good day
Well done Popeye -I am doing the opposite - gave a huge bag of wool yesterday to a lady making slippers for needy kids - they buy a pair of pyjamas and knit a pair of slippers and distribute them to the low decile schools -have heaps more to go -
My wool didn't turn up again - two balls were out of stock on my original order - they have been weeks getting here but my big order hasn't arrived either - but it's early days for that one I guess - but as I sorted through all the wool yesterday to give away talked to myself very strongly that unless it is for a specific job it's not to be ordered no matter how lovely the yarn looks
We will see !
My sister is sick so I am going to hold myself together and go visit my brother in law in the hospice

Morning ladies, just home from my long walk, I'm finding it easier to go in the mornings as going at 5pm it's just about dark when I get home. Went to the club last night but didn't win the membership draw, had a couple of frames of snooker though, and enjoyed it, even though I didn't score many points.

Have 8 more squares to do for the blanket, but 6 of them are owl squares. Must do some tonight. Have to pop into town shortly, and I think I might go for my blood tests (just an annual WOF) which I have been putting off for a couple of months, so think today is the day. Then mah jong this afternoon.

It's a fabulous day here, but was very nippy this morning.

Congratulations popeye on your Lotto win - at least I know that you prefer acrylic! Will see what I can find in my stash.

Have a super day everyone.

morning ladies :) I had a very busy day yesterday and didn't get home until the mid afternoon. My friend picked me up for our very first yoga class later in the evening (MrK paid for the classes for my birthday) only to find the class was postponed until next week. Oh well, something to look forward to.

Am teaching tomorrow so will do some planning later today but first I need to mow the lawn before the rain kicks in.

I've almost finished the second sock and my tension is so much better than the first. Am tempted to unpick the first sock and reknit it now I seem to have better tension.

Gerry, my Love Knitting order hasn't arrived either so I flicked them an e mail late yesterday afternoon to see what was going on. I'll keep checking for a reply during the day.

Happy knitting :)

Morning all - beautiful day -
Kiwimade I emailed LoveKnitting about 2 balls that were on backorder from my previous order - they say it was shipped on 8/4 but have told me to wait until 8/5 - my big order is about a week late - I hope if it is missing they don't say I have to wait a month!
Cleaner coming today so I better have a whiz around

Have fun at school Kiwimade. Disspointing about the wool, but I soo know what your going through.

I have to giggle about you whizzing around for the cleaner Gerry. I admit to whizzing around putting things away to make things easier for when ours comes on fridays.

Pain is nasty today. I dont think ill be getting to my physio appointment, my back is nasty... Id like a few replacement on some joints lol...

Only did one square yesterday, just couldnt concentrate on anything really.

Have a fab day everyone...

Just arrived home everything looking beautiful - opened the pantry door and a large glass bottle of plum sauce fell out - broke of course on the tiles - it's up the cupboards - the fridge was in the line of fire as well - the floor is a beautiful shade of plum - sat and howled for a while and then trudged off for the mop and bucket !

Morning
Happy Birthday Kiwimade.
Oh dear Gerry can imagine the mess but good that the wool is arriving, seems like they want to make the anticipation last as long as possible!

Off again once organised - going back to Wellington for a couple of days to give the dad a bit of a hand again. It's a lovely day so should be a good trip.
Fortunately I quite enjoy driving and am looking forward to having a completely free day in Wellington tomorrow while the others are at work/ school/creche.
Bag and knitting packed.

Morning ladies. Happy birthday Kiwimade.

Another beautiful day here, but as I don't get any sun in the living area in the winter, I have the heat pump going.

Went for a walk yesterday morning at 7.30am with the neighbours but they didn't go this morning - just as well as I was still in bed at 7. Might see if the other neighbour is going at 5 otherwise I will just give it a miss today.

Yesterday went to knit and natter then the "bunny club girls" went to Kerikeri for lunch. Wasn't overly impressed with the choice on the menu and had burger and chips - the burger had no lettuce, beetroot or tomato, but it had "bacon jam" which was basically just tiny pieces of bacon fried until they were like bits of charcoal. There were also some beer battered onion rings which were piled up inside the burger so that the burger was about 4" high and fell apart as I tried to eat it. The chips were served in a terracotta flower pot - it was a garden centre cafe. I think I prefer my food on a plate.

I have finished the squares for the blanket (well as many as I intend to do) but will crochet a border around it to make the blanket a bit bigger. As I was sewing the squares together I noticed I have made a mistake in one of them, but I'm not going to admit to it. Also I've managed to sew two together which are the same colour on the outer round, which is annoying as I didn't notice as I did it. Grrrrr! Have decided I will do another one at some stage to sell on the market, but in nicer colours and possibly a bit bigger. It will be something to work on over winter.

I had better have breakfast I suppose and then have a tidy up. Have a friend coming round later - she wants me to do some sewing for her.

Have a super day everyone.
