I reckon you can never have too much wool either

#Post

I remember bidding on a Clarice Cliff piece of pottery and won the auction. My sister visited and spotted it and she had been one of the bidders lol.

Dad phoned, really pleased with himself lol. The lady who cuts his hedge (he has a whole army of us helping him out!) dug out the calla lilies and took them away. So I'm sorry kuaka, they went before I could even get there to take a photo.

Never mind kiwimade, no problem. I bought some clivia a while back, and will put them in, and see what else I can rob from around the section and just relocate.

Yay it came back on about 20 mins ago.

Hadnt felt too bad today. And plenty for MrP to watch after doing the last 5 jars on onions... 50 jars all done and I dont want to see another tiny onion for a while now. Unless it comes out of one of the jars.

Rang sky to figure out how to turn the energy saving mode off the sky box, Id been missing one line of the instructions in the book. so thats sorted.

MrP is sleeping so Ill leave him there for now.

Morning Everyone . Grey and overcast here today
I'm not worried as I am off out shortly for the day. Just packed what I think I will need and a few extra pieces to take to" Book Arts" . We come together once a month and sometimes some of us will come together during the month.
Today we are working on our own projects. I am working on mini one word books. for our annual sale later in the year. That the plan at present. Someone may have a new project or two to share and we may just have a go.
Mr S is going out for lunch with a couple friends and a game or two of Pool. Not sure about the game of Pool as his left leg is not very strong.at present.

Yesterday I finished cleaning out the guest room. Found a heap of fabric to sew into bags. A wet weather project.day.

Good luck at the market today Kuaku. Is there a tourist ship in today? We had one in yesterday. Season must be just about over for another year.

Happy Crafting Everyone and Enjoy your Day!

morning ladies :) There was a cruise ship in Mt Maunganui yesterday as the Hobbiton buses were in fine form bringing them over the Kaimais for the tours.

We had a police car with lights flashing stop for over an hour just up the road at around 2.00am and a truck had his hazard lights on too. We think a car ended up in a ditch as a salvage truck arrived to take it away. No doubt the neighbours will tell us all about it.

Housework today, the maize cutters are further over now so hopefully less dust. Our last group of students for a month arrive this afternoon so better make the house presentable.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Have a lovely day out Sunflower, I miss going out to groups etc.

Sometimes I wish I hadnt burnt my bridges at CMA, but Id never go back while the witch is there. But I really miss the IHC people.

Sky Tv aint working for us, so Ill ring them when Ive finished my breakfast...

Hope no one was injured Kiwimade.. Our corner was very dark over night, two street lights on either end of the units werent working and down the main road so it was pitch black out there.

Our house lady is coming this morning, no power yesterday and with the digging across the road it wasnt worth dusting here either.. It has rained tho, so that will help.

Right I better see whats up with Sky.

Have a fab day all

Morning - drizzly grey old day for sure - if it is not too cold might venture out to the dog park- gets me out and about - yesterday we came around a corner and ash saw a man in the distance the same build as Mr G - poor little thing absolutely bolted after him until he caught the poor bloke up and sniffed him - he hasn't forgotten
Perfect day sunflower to spend with your group
We live in an Art Deco street - the buses and vintage cars bring the cruise ship passengers here to look at the houses - the one opposite us has been beautifully restored - ours unfortunately is a new build but in a back section so it isn't too intrusive - in Bathurst the council give everybody with a heritage home $5000 a year to maintain their property so there are streets and streets of beautiful old houses from little miners cottages that you can't fit through the front door it is so small to huge big houses that were obviously built for the gold mine owners -

I would love to be in wanganui Jill Mass has a cloth doll exhibition this weekend - went to lots of her classes
My buyer is coming shortly to pick up her Facebook purchase so better get cracking

My buyer arrived for the wool I sold on the destasher site - was one of the lovely cranford hospice nurses that helped us so much - so pleased she has the wool it was beautiful - the colours of paua

Morning
That's lovely Gerry that your wool has gone to someone who has helped you as well.

Dull, dark and drizzly start to the day - good for not hurrying to get up or get going.
A brother and his wife are coming this pm, they are on holiday up here from Christchurch and have been to Lake Waikarimoana so a real pity the weather has turned not so nice. Going to another brother's for dinner with sister so will be a nice little catch up. I've already made the desert.

Looks like a good day to stay inside with the knitting nearly down to the tail of the shark blanket, certainly a no concentrate type knit.

Enjoy your day Everyone

morning ladies :) How lovely Gerry, you must have priced your wool 'too cheaply' for her to specifically buy it! Some things are just meant to be.

Our girls arrived yesterday, tired but happy to be here. Very quiet and shy and nervous of the Furry One. They are still sleeping, no hurry today. One of the girls gave us a hand sewn bag with hand sewn juggling balls in it. Her mum and grandmother had made them and they are just beautiful. So now I can learn to juggle lol.

Those shark blankets look interesting jayemtoo and sound fun to knit.

Happy knitting :)

The maize has all been cut across the road, just in time too as it rained late yesterday afternoon.

Morning all - grey old sky here - hopefully it will clear enough to head to the dog park -little nuisance has cabin fever
Yes it was a good feeling with the wool - so pleased I didn't relist it as the administrators of the destash page wanted me to and disregard my original sale just because I didn't put it in the right album - interesting that one of the admin pmd me offering to buy it !
The growers were lucky with the maize for sure kiwimade - can remember when we had the farm when we were younger the panic some years with the hay
My sister in law from Auckland is coming here for a conference this week hope weather improves but it will be nice catching up with her - should do some baking - certainly a good day for it

Morning everyone,
I love it when a sale goes so well and brings people together.

Its overcast here but no rain overnight.. Warm tho.

I didnt do any craft yesterday. Ive been putting away, stuff that has been where it shouldnt since we started the onions. So its a catch up of sorts.. My table in the craft room needs a clear off. But Im going to comb the carpet in my bedroom later. No matter how much its vaccd, my long hair hangs on tight. So using an afro comb grates it off well. Missy has a habit of eating it, and thats not good for her shystem.

Think I must have time travelled in my sleep last night.. Have that "Ah Shuddup aya face" song on my brain lol That was from the early 80's I think lol. Annoying !!!

Have a fab day with all the visitors everyone

Good Morning ,grey sky and wet under foot today. Yes, I did have a lovely day at Book Art. Lots of planning around our Annual Sale and our trip to Wangnui to a Flax Paper Workshop.
Worked on a couple book patterns so I can make a start on my Little Books and Mini Books for our sale.Completed a couple of boxes that are Birthday Presents for later in the year.(sorry can't share photos of them ladies.)
Our wonderful Art Supply Shop in Hastings was flooded out last week, the shop and upstairs where flooded. It well know store. Had some linen paper dropped off to us so came home spread my sheets out to dry.

Mr S was very quiet when I arrived home. Was unable to play a game of pool with his mates.

Finished unpacking my gear I taken yesterday this morning, now waiting on Mr S to see what he would like to do today as its very wet underfoot and not long had another shower. If we stay in will do some baking and just maybe my knitting will see some daylight.

Hope you enjoy the company of your visitors Kiwimade and you can get and about with them.
Yes it's great to have family catch ups and a meal ,hope it all goes well for you Jayemtoo.

How was your day at the market Kuaku? Was there a Tourist Boat in town yesterday? We have just had a couple in this week.Season is just about over.
Hope your knitting, stitching gets a workout today ladies.
Stay dry and have a great day everyone.

Morning ladies, not a very successful day at the market yesterday, there was a boat in, but they were all short-arm, deep-pocket types. I sold a set of stitch markers for $6 and a pair of fingerless gloves for $16, take off the $10 for the stall and my hourly rate drops to "not a lot". Was a lovely day too, could have been relaxing on the beach (not very likely to do that) and today is dull, overcast and we've already had rain and more forecast.

Plan today was to go for a walk with my neighbour at 10am, but I was still awake at 3am so took half a sleeping pill and didn't wake till 9.45. Then had a text from the neighbour to say she was going to Whangarei for the day and we would walk again Tuesday, (tomorrow I go to the club), so I might go on my own if the weather holds. Then come home and do some gardening (if it's not raining by then.)

I bought heaps of possum/merino wool on here last week, and can't wait for it to arrive so I can start using it. It should be good for the market, although at this stage I'm not booked in for any more. There's one next Sunday but no space for me - yet. Could change. You never know.

Phoned Virginia in Brisbane last night, she's preparing with sand bags for cyclone Debbie to hit (how appropriate - that's witch's name!) Hope it moves away and doesn't cause too much trouble.

Anyway, if I am going to get out for this walk, I had better get a move on. I'm feeling so much better since I started this regular walk, and I'm hoping it is going to help bring my blood pressure back down, have to see the nurse this week as I'm almost out of pill, so this will be interesting.

Have a super day everyone.

Kuaka - agree with you about the walking - I have never ever walked at all before -I promised MrG that I would take his little dog out and am surprised at how much better I feel for doing it

Well I got to the halfway point of the distance I normally walk, and the heavens opened, so turned tail and came back, arriving home in squelchy shoes and like a drowned rat, even my bra and knickers were wringing wet, so I only did a quarter of the walk I normally do. So this afternoon we have had rain, sun, rain, sun and now rain again. I didn't get my gardening done, and I haven't properly fixed the polythene over the broken window in the Safari, so I expect it's getting wet inside - too bad, it will have to dry out later. I can't find any duct tape at the moment.

I've just spent a good hour or so having some practice on the snooker table. That in itself is quite good exercise, holding still in a very unnatural position while you take shots needs a good deal of muscle control. Mr K always used to say you need to be really fit to play snooker well.

Seeing as I had no lunch, I think I'll cook an early tea.

Enjoy your evening everyone.

Ive had a weekend of no craft, just couldnt be bothered lol..

This morning after doing MrP's claws i intend on tidying the table in the craft room again lol..
And yes I do his "claws" in the same way I do Missy's. And she sits and watches closely when I do Mrp's lol.. Cute really lol.

Last week I felt like Id been more up the street than home, so Im making every effort this week to stay home all apart from shopping day.. especially now Im not Jar Hunting lol.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning from a rather wet Napier.
There's a praying mantis sitting beside me, no idea why it has decided to come visiting, so I'll put it out once I get going.

I agree the walking helps keep me mobile. I have used a paedometer for several years and was lucky to be given a Fitbit last year. I like the added incentive of getting a set number of steps a day - aim for 10,000 as that is the recommended number. I also have a bit of competition with my niece's to get the most steps per week so if my "numbers" are down I just have to make the effort and get out it sure makes a difference I find. Guess having a small dog needing walks would be enough incentive too!

Had a lovely dinner and evening with siblings and spouses hadn't met the SiL from Christchurch for about 30 years so good to see her again.

I'll put my visitor out into the rain then decide what next to do, should go to supermarket but am procrastinating at going out at the moment, perhaps a bit of knitting needs to be done while I decide lol.

Good morning - no dog park today that is for sure - he hasn't even got out of bed yet -think I might hop over to skeinz this morning - all the wool I have piled up everywhere just can't find the right colour for the dolls striped legs - miss the old boy he used to stop me procrastinating -
Damn just heard the rubbish truck and my bag is not out! Will have to head round the corner to my sons work bin
My cousin went to the Adele concert last night in Auckland - she said it was great despite the rain -pleased we are still not in Queensland the cyclone that is about to hit them could be huge -we were there 3 years without a drop of rain - the week after we shifted to Bathurst Brisbane had the big flood - the poor young couple that had bought our house had not even shifted in - the water went through it up to the top of the internal doors

Morning ladies, looks like being another stunning day here now that the fog which was threatening to settle has dissipated.

Have already sat and done some knitting this morning, and plan to do some sewing after breakfast then some gardening. My afternoon out at mah jong today, and then hopefully back on track with my long walk with my neighbour. I keep telling myself it must be doing me some good. Might find out later in the week as I need to see the nurse for a bp check. My neighbour has been doing this walk most days since Christmas and she said her blood pressure has dropped quite considerably. Fingers crossed.

gerry, that reminds me of when we moved here from Russell. We'd only been here a few weeks and we had a "one in a 100 year rain event" which caused flooding, and apparently our previous home flooded, then a few weeks later we had another "one in a 100 year rain event" which caused even more flooding. I often wonder how these "one in a 100 year" or "one in 150 year" events can happen so frequently.

Right, I need to eat.

Have a super day everyone.

Morning everyone
Very clear here and next to no wind. Will be a scorcher later for sure.

Have to cut MrP's hair later, it grows soo fast.

Did a fair bit on the birthday present yesterday. Will measure it this morning. Id rather it be snug than loose.

Well I thought I had figured out that the light was giving my my hives. Havent had any since I changed the light. But last night they came back.. We had polonies for tea. So now Im wondering if there is something in them that set it off. I will wait a few weeks and have some sgain and see what happens.

Before we moved here we lived in Putarur and they had a weather bomb there. At MrP's brothers they ended up with two cars full to the bottom of the windows and a shed for of stuff, as well and multiple sheep fleeces soaking wet.
And years before that we were looking at a house on the outskirts of Opotiki. The sellers kept mucking us around and in the end we pulled out. Three days later a mini tornado went through and took the whole roof off.. never been soo pleased to have been mucked around in my life lol.

Have a fab day in what ever you do

Good morning - one of those weather can't make up its mind what it's going to do this morning - will procrastinate along with it
Tried to sort through some of my wool yesterday - seriously going to get rid of some of it - just how best to do it I am not sure - I am a member of the nz destasher page but after my last drama not too sure about listing there again - might try trade me
I have been saving my Lewis road milk bottles as they are such a nice shape yesterday a lady arrived with a huge bag of lemons and one of feijoa to swap for 6 empty bottles - she makes some trendy yeasty drink kaboocha or something like that so she was ever so pleased - gave her some onions so over them!

Gerry I started a group on FB for swapping yarn. Its handy if you want to clear some out , but swap it for something you might just use.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/225653214282286/

I just put some baby acrylic on there to see how it goes.

Love bartering, we have a local group here for that too.

Like you I dont want to see onions for a while lol

Morning ladies, we had thick thick fog when I first got up, could barely see out of the window, then it cleared, but now it's rolling back in again, so what promised to be another stunning day is now looking quite dreary.

Knit and natter this morning, might start a new project - I've bought the patterns on ravelry for some shawls/shawlettes, one "Braidsmaid", I've already started, that's for me, but the other two "brickless" and "hitchhiker" are waiting, and I'm keen to cast one on. Typical of me, start something and then take forever to finish it.

Went for another long walk yesterday evening, will have to take the car one day and just see how far it is, the neighbour that I walk with reckons it's about 7km in total. Be interesting to know. Also like to know how many steps that is. Must make the appointment to see the nurse sometime today, hopefully for tomorrow or Friday.

Have a super day everyone.

Morning
Another gloomy, drizzly day here but it is supposed to clear up later, at least it's not cold and certainly can't grumble when hear about cyclone Debbie.

Off soon to get petrol and rat bait. Was moving paper in the factory on Monday and a huge rat strolled out, think the rain had brought it in as no signs of it making a nest or being around long but we don't want him hanging around. There are semi wild cats out there and they seem to keep the mice population under control.

Started the next "tail" blanket as just had the fiddly bits to do on the shark one and needed more no concentrate knitting. Thickish wool and 6mm needles so grows quickly.

morning ladies :) Our students have left us so a quick tidy up and the day is mine. I'll leave stripping the beds until we have a fine day. Must have been tired as we both slept in late this morning. But looking back over our calendar, we have had a busy few months between students and family.

Those shark blankets certainly seem quick to knit/crochet. I might leave that for our daughter to make for our grandy.

I'll have to have a look here for the thread I'm using for the hardanger piece I am working on. Now my Bernina shop in Tauranga has been having problems getting it. Really cheeses me off, how hard can it be to have pearl DMC thread in stock. So now I have started another embroidery piece using cheap linen I regret buying, just pulled stitches, nothing fancy. It's a freehand piece so I'll see how it goes.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Its been raining all night and still is, very little wind but it sure is dark.

If I could still knit, Id be doing a Hitchhiker shawl for sure. They look soo cool.
Will you put pics up when you ahve done the blankets Jayemtoo?

You sure have been busy Kiwimade. And yes very frustrating not being able to get the cotton you want. Have you tried alliexpress?

Its Missys birthday today. 3 years already.. and I have to pop out in this rain to get her some more bikkies, shes eating a bit more than normal and I cut it a day too fine lol..

Ive finished one of the special projects and started the next. Ill have to pm you pictures when they are done. Cos I dont want them seen on here or fb lol. Quite pleased too cos I guessed what I thought would be the right size and Im Bang on.
Shouldnt take too long to get the other made. Then I best get this second blanket joined up too.

Morning all
Yes definitely a grey drizzly day here - might get a walk in if the littke dog us lucky
Sold the cotton I listed on the destashers site so will dig some more elsout - the swappers site is great Popeye but I don't want anything coming this way - every room in the house except the loo and the bathroom has wool stashed somewhere
Those mermaid tails are all the rage with young girls
I so miss having a cat -

gerry64 - 2017-03-29 09:35:00
11580

morning ladies :) I miss having a cat too but the Furry One sees them as his own personal squeaky toy and we have ourselves to blame for that as we encourage him to chase and catch rabbits. We tried having a rescue kitten but decided for Maggie's (I named her after Margaret Thatcher as she had to be tough to survive being a rescue cat) safety and our peace of mind, we would rehome her. Our daughter has her so we still get to see her.

Another wet day here although it is meant to clear up this afternoon. The lawn is growing like crazy so that will have to be mowed again.

We have an invite for a 21st tomorrow evening which should be fun. Nice to still receive these invites.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone, Grey and wet here.. Perfect lol wont be good for the blackberries tho.

We miss having dogs. Have had quite a few over our time, but I really miss the three foxies we have had, the most.

Im just over half way on the second piece of the special project, really happy with how they are looking.

Shopping today, nothing very exiting on the list tho lol. I will see if we can get a bit of corned beef without breaking the bank tho...
Yesterday I got 2 kilos of bacon pieces, for $5-99 per kilo. and its very yummy.. So now have oodles of bacon in the freezer. Anytime they have a good special like that I get it.

Have a fab day everyone..

Morning ladies, was a real thick fog when I got up, which was a pain because the tide would have been right for me to go out to the boat, and even though the fog has partially lifted, it's still quick thick where the boat is and could come back very quickly, so I won't risk it, and now the tide is starting to drop. Grrrr. Have an appointment to see the nurse tomorrow morning, might see if I can change it to the afternoon, then if it's okay in the morning, I'll try to get to the boat.

Got soaked again on my walk yesterday - my friend phoned her husband and we got a ride home (but we had done most of the walk by then - she was worried her phone would get wet).

If it dries out I will mow the lawn this afternoon, but meantime I think I will do some sewing or clean the windows. Hmmm, decisions, decisions!

Bacon pieces at $6 a kg sounds like a bargain, popeye. I snap them up when I can too, only way to survive on a pension.

Have a super day everyone.

Afternoon,
It sure Is bizarre weather, yesterday it rained all morning so we decided not to go out to the factory so 30 mins later it was sunny so went for a lovely walk instead then later pm it turned foggy and wet again.
This am lovely bright day so did the washing hung it out and 5 mins later down it came again. Oh well at least it was well rinsed and it is now drying again.

No further sign of the rat at the factory but put a couple of baits out just in case.
Off for a walk soon in case the weather decides to change yet again then can relax this evening.

Afternoon - busy day have my sister in las coming for dinner - she asked me to make a fish pie - my son usually has lovely home smoked kawhai in the supermarket but wouldn't you know it none today - have used smoked salmon so we will see. Grandkids will tell me if it is not up to scratch
My 11 year old grandson had rugby weighin on Saturday he is a very tall 12 year old as skinny as a rake - has been told he has to lose 2kg or play in a team of 14 year olds - so on the phone I got and rang an old friend of my dads in the rugby union - he got an earful - different if he was overweight and a danger to other kids his age - gripe over
Better go and throw together a salad because that's probably all Corban will eat

morning ladies :) Good on you Gerry, that's awful an eleven year old is told to loose weight. At school boy level it should be age, not weight, especially primary/intermediate levels.

ick, rats, jayemtoo. Heard another one in our ceiling last night. We get them once the maize has been cut. So more bait thrown up in the ceiling today I think.

Lawn to mow this morning weather permitting and bedding to wash. Maybe some crafting this afternoon and then later this evening we have a 21st to go to.

Happy knitting :)

kiwimade64 - 2017-03-31 08:34:00

Morning ladies, yes I agree with jayemtoo, that's awful, if he's already like a rake what will he be like if he's 2kg lighter. Mr K, who was 6ft and a 44inch chest, never went under 84kg until he got sick, used to tell me that as a teenager he was a jockey and used to train race horses - I was so heavily built and so solid in the chest and had such huge muscular arms and hands I couldn't imagine it but he said as a teenager he was a puny little thing, tall but skinny as. Wasn't till he was in his 20s that he developed a strong body.

I am just keeping an eye on the water, the tide is nearly in, but the boat is not facing the way I would like her, there is some wind out there, but at the moment not much. I'll see what it's like in half an hour and then make a decision. I've changed my appointment with the nurse to this afternoon to give me time if the conditions are okay, otherwise I will try tomorrow morning.

I've started my "hitchhiker" shawl. It is very straightforward, but do you think I can get it in my head yet. 8 rows where you start 3 rows with a purl and then knit to end of row increasing in the last stitch, 3 rows where you increase in the first stitch and knit to the end and one row where you increase in the first and last stitch (these rows are alternated of course) and then the 8th row where you cast off five stitches and knit to the end increasing in the last stitch. I just don't seem to get it. I suppose I will by the time I've repeated it a few more times. I hope! I'm using some possum/merino that I bought on here.

Well I better have breakfast just in case I decide to go to the boat. If I don't I shall have to find something else to do. Yesterday I cleaned windows and mowed two of the lawns and did some weeding, then last night went for a 7km walk. Slept well in the chair, and then went to bed and slept all night.

Have a super day.

Good morning - thank you for agreeing with me about Corban - his great grandad on his mums side was an extremely tall man also very lean -my son is adopted but I have seen his birth dad and he is very tall and lean so Corban can't really help his genes - loves rugby
Had a lovely evening with my sister in law - fish pie wasn't all that wonderful but the wine was nice
Going to get the washing out then head to the dog park and then I have to get cracking on this baby knitting -
The South Island part of the family are flying in tonight sadly only for two days - granddaughter thinks it's ok to miss school but unfortunately her Dad doesn't

Morning everyone,
What a terrible thing to tell an already lean boy.. Soo glad he has people to stand up for him.
I remember when my nephew started school, his first day on the buss was a disaster. They had the newbies at the front of the row and then it went by height. My nephew got in the newbies group and the buss driver told him to move back.
he is now 6'5" so you can see he was tall when younger.
I feel Blah today, had a warfariin flat battery yesterday but today its different. wether I get out to pick the blackberries will tell. At the mo I dont want to.
Didnt crochet yesterday, so will try and do some today.

Yay the chairs finally went out the front yesterday. Covered well and padlocked to the porch. so I have just about all the dining room back lol.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning
Just back from taking BiL to Hastings for clinic appt. Its really lovely out at the moment long may it last.

Started the third "tail" so had something small to take with me, the other 2 are getting quite hot to knit unless I have somewhere where the bulk can sit beside me and not actually on my knee. Im making them a bit bigger than the child so that they will last a few years. They certainly make warm knee rugs.

OK finish coffee then outside to make the most of this nice day.

I know now why I left the dog walking to Mr G - have been bitten on the leg by a pit bull - according to the owner he has a thing about ladies wearing skirts - there are so many groups of pre school children use the park to have a dog which you know has a problem not on a leash is damn criminal -

Oh gerry, that's awful. Some people. Dogs like that shouldn't be off the leash. Have you reported it to the cops? I would. And report it to the Council too, they have some control over dogs. I would also be getting the bite seen by a doctor, you don't want it getting infected. Acc should cover it.

Just back from the boat. I couldn't get the motor to start even though I took the battery booster with me - a job for Paul while he's here. There wasn't much water in the bilge so that was good, and I've brought home the mizzen sail to clean as on my previous visit the birds had built a nest on it where it was nicely flaked (folded) and stowed in a sail bag. Little blighters (I'd like to call them something worse than that but I will restrain myself). So now a shower, lunch and then go and see the nurse and see what my blood pressure is like.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

I am also making the hitchhiker shawl and finding difficult to remember the pattern. At the start I had one of the teeth facing the wrong way.lol. I am also knitting mine in merino/possum. Beautiful soft wool.

Talk to the Dog Control Officer, they need to know so others can be kept safe. I feel for you, our dog was attacked when walking a few years ago by a Bichon Freize (sp). Wasn't on a lead but our boy was. It's the only time I have kicked a dog.

Lawns are mowed, some washing done, caught up with a good friend, sorted our cutlery to take to the 21st (friend asked to borrow some) and had a chat on the phone with another friend I haven't seen for 30 years! We're meeting tomorrow for coffee. Soooo excited!

Hope the bite isn't too bad Gerry. Thoroughly agree about reporting it as if it has done it once could easily do it again and as you indicated it could be a child. Which dog park do you go to - so I can avoid it! I like walking around Park Island at times but am always wary of dogs who come too close.
Had a dog bail me up in Anderson Park a few months ago, it was yapping at my ankles, asked the owner to call it off and was told if I didn't like dogs coming at me I shouldn't walk in the park. I was not amused.

Jayemtoo was at Park Island - a man saw it happen and was quick thinking enough to head back to the car park and thank goodness for these new fancy phones - took a photo of the registration plates and gave it to me / so even though the owner raced off I have been able to report him
The scary part was the second dog came very quickly to join in but I managed to give it a good swift kick - but the first one came out of knowhere - no barking just rushed up and bit me -

Ohh how nasty Gerry.. Have you had the wound checked medically, as dogs carry bugs/

Soo pleased the man was able to help you too, and reporting it means hopefully it wont happen again.

You wouldnt live with yourself if a child was hurt by the same dog.

I hope you mend quickly, both physically and mentally

Take Care

Good morning -
Took myself off to the doctor Popeye - have three puncture wounds -
The man from dog control came round - the dogs were unregistered so we're both taken - feel sorry for the dogs but they were not in good condition and one of each sex so as the ranget said no doubt would have produced many more pit bull cross pups to cause havoc - scary the way it didn't bark at me just bit me
I was thinking last night I seemed to have had one disaster after another in the 4 months since my hubbie died - to top the day off yesterday my smoothie maker decided to turn itself into a volcano and spray the kitchen green - the language was very salty and I don't normally swear!
Sort of good news on the rugby front - he can get a dispensation to play in his grade - but the coach of the opposing team has the right to stop him playing - even if he was plump at that age it would be whatever his parents were providing him with to eat that would be determining his weight -he isn't he is a rake but I am sure that an overweight boy would be better on the field running round than off it - my son is going to rattle some cages
Might have a lazy day today - found some lovely bobbly white wool in one of my piles - will make a cute jacket so will look for a pattern
My sister in law in Oz lives in Lismore - lucky her house is on a hill bug the town is devastated - they are in their 80s - frightening for therm

Morning
Take it easy Gerry and let the bite heal, Good that they got onto those dogs, obviously not a responsible owner.

Do enjoy your catch up with your friend Kiwimade, it's always great meeting up with old friends again.

Another nice day so will make the most of it outside, will probably go into decline for a few days after daylight saving finishes, I'm not a morning person so don't mind darker mornings but miss the evenings.
Oh well more time for knitting I suppose lol.
