I reckon you can never have too much wool either

One of the birthdays is going to be a bbq at her place (her son is going to don the bbq apron!) and the other one is a "do" at the bowling club - just as well I put my specs on to read the invitation as I thought it said the "boating club". Oops!

Oh dear re the gardening kiwimade, but if your sister had stayed to help she may have hindered more than helped.

I have just unravelled the edging that I put on the c2c blanket, and it looks better without it, so if I ever do another one, I must remember to not do so many stitches.

Glad your feeling better Kuaka... It has been a while eh

Maybe joke presents would be good?

Ohh Kiwimade, even I could manage popping things into a bin.. your sister is norty by the sounds of it.

Home from drs, I didnt get the things burnt off, the big one that id shown the dr, flattened and peeled the other day and they others were still a bit small to do. It was busy as down there, car parks full to bursting, but thankfully I arrived at the right time to get one close by.

Will crochet after lunch

For my Mum's eightieth we gave her 80 presents - mostly useful little bits from the $2 shop. A pack of 12 pegs would count as 12 presents, so no need to go mad on the cost. Mum loved it !

Morning
That's the sort of thing I would do Kuaka - so annoying. Yesterday I had to frog back half the yoke of the cardy I'm doing as I hadn't done the decrease on the sleeves before joining them, was just not concentrating at the right time!

I've done the many parcels present but only up to 60. Was fun to do but needed quite a bit of planning. The big one was a joint family one with each person given a number af parcels to supply.

It's nice and cool at present so we are going to factory early before the heat arrives. Also BiLs birthday so will go via supermarket and spoil him for am tea, he likes his food.
Then can relax later with the knitting and hopefully get the yoke finished today without any more hitches.

Enjoy your day Everyone

morning ladies :) I love the idea of the many parcels!

Lol kuaka, I have done silly stuff like that, usually when I'm tired.

I'm going to sew today. I taught myself how to sew pleats and have been making a knitting bag for our daughter with a double ended zip so she can padlock it to keep little hands out. Today I put the zip and handles in. Without any hiccups it should only take me until lunchtime and then daughter can take it home with her on Friday. I have even lined the bag with a pocket. It's quite big but needs to be for her blanket crochet and bigger projects.

MrK is making a 21st key out of rimu and it looks lovely. Our friends have their youngest turning 21 soon. He made a 21st key for their oldest last year too.

Happy knitting :)

Morning eveyone
Ohh soo annoying Kuaka.. Yep fresh eyes on it today maybe.

Its not cool here, but the wind is turning so it shouldnt get too much hotter, I hope.

Have two pick ups for barters today, swapping strawberry jam for pickling onions, and then later silverbeet plants for farm fresh eggs.

In between Im going to lay out the blanket and get that bagged at least.

Had an idea yesterday, Im going to get hold of a couple of bowls from washing machines and use them as raised gardens. Will put wheels on them too, to make it easier to move them around. Have asked on the barter page, havent checked yet but hopefully I can get a couple. theres some on here for $25 each which I thought was quite good, but they are in Tauranga.

Have a fab day everyone and stay cool...

Morning ladies, yes, I couldn't believe my eyes, when I put the blanket down to join the next square, anyway it didn't take me long to undo the stitching, and now I just have all the tiny squares to join - "just" she says, they are a right pain! The things we do.

Was fast asleep in bed this morning when the phone woke me. Grrrr! Got up to answer it and in my sleep befuddled state, answered the wrong one. Nobody there of course. By then the phone stopped ringing. Then the other phone rang, but I'd already looked out the window and saw the furniture truck in my driveway - my lounge suite. They were supposed to phone yesterday and tell me what time they were coming. Two big hefty Maori boys carried it in, and moved the two old settees into the other room for me, I moved the chair yesterday but the settees wouldn't go through the doorway without being tilted slightly and I couldn't do that on my own.

The new suite looks lovely, it's much bigger than the old one but it totally transforms the look of the room. Now I really do have to get rid of the old stuff, the lounge looks like a furniture store.

At least I can now go to knitting this morning and then on to lunch with the "bunny club girls" which is the group for widows set up by a lady named Bunny and we go out for lunch once a month. Nothing to do with Hugh Hefner!

The barter page sounds interesting popeye, wonder if there is such a thing up this way. Must check it out.

Have a super day everyone.

Yes, that's a pity raej2 - I sure hope someone buys it soon, or the dining room suite. I'd prefer them both gone, but one would be good for a start.

Blanket is coming along nicely now, I've been sewing the small squares together this afternoon, it's too hot to do any gardening. It will be winter before we know it and we'll be complaining that it's too cold to garden or too wet.

Morning
The cricket is here today so looks like we may get the much needed rain!!
Sister and BiL are going to it - told her that they only book the cricket at McLean park to help the farmers as so often it tends to rain when the cricket comes to Napier lol.

Love the idea of bartering things Popeye, might check out if similar thing here.
You won't know yourself soon Kuaka with all the new furniture, so nice for you to be able to make the place your own.

Finished the white cardy and now trying to put some embroidery onit, fun to do but not sure how it will turn out. Also started a DK jersey for a 3 yr old so something just to pick up and little concentration needed.

Enjoy your day

morning ladies :) We're starting to psych ourselves up for our whirlwind of a granddaughter's visit this weekend and plan things we can do. Am really hoping it will be fine so we can be outdoors.

Looks like rain here today but still warm. We could use the rain, the ground is bone dry.

Housework for me today then some more hardanger. I finished sewing the bag yesterday for our daughter and for someone who hasn't put a zip in for over 20 years, I think I did a pretty good job! Amazing how things just come back to you.

Happy knitting :)

Morning ladies, well done on the bag kiwimade, yes, it's a bit like riding a bike, you never really forget although your confindence can diminish at times.

Looks like perfect conditions to go out to the boat, so I might just do that after breakfast, not that I really feel like it, but I need to check it, hopefully do some work on the bowsprit and run the motor. Fingers crossed. Take some photos too, save me having to scan all the hard copy ones I have.

So I had better get cracking.

Have a super day everyone.

Was just talking to my brother, my Uncle is fading fast, he has bowel cancer. They are going to start radiation, so my brother will find out if its ok to visit . He is mums little brother and the coolest uncle. I always remember him for plaiting bailing twine for us kids at guy fox to light our fireworks.. bonfires on the farm were the best.

Sewed my ends in last night. And I have the blanket rows bagged up so will start that later if Im feeling a bit better.

Better get done on here or it will be lunchtime before i get out lol

Hi Everyone. Just pop in when I can, as my left hand and arm is out of action. Fall last Friday pm. Now in full plaster as it puffed up badly over Tue/Wed.

Well ladies it raining on and off today need to do it for a few days to be any good.. There is an ODC on today.

Kuaka I hope you get out to the boat today, now you are feeling better. Hope you get a buyer for your table and chairs etc. We have to replace soon as well.

Spend most of the day sorting out cottons. Mother has some lovely colours.
Will my Doctor just rang after reading hosp report and needs to check my arm. as it' a long w/end .

I better go. Enjoy the rest of the day everyone

Morning ladies, oh dear sunflowers, that doesn't sound very good, I hope your arm is better soon. You be careful and try to stay on your feet.

Well I went out to the boat yesterday, well I should say I got 3/4 of the way out there but it was too rough so I turned round and came back again. A friend decided he would come with me but not till nearly midday by which time the wind was already up - that was two hours later than I planned to go. Should have gone on my own and not waited for the friend, but he wanted to come. Today it is looking very much like rain so I won't go if it rains, as I want to chip away at the rot on the bowsprit and seal it.

I might have made a mistake buying a lounge suite which is so comfortable, I dozed off in the chair yesterday during the 6pm news, and then again in the evening and didn't wake till 1.30am. At least I didn't have a stiff neck when I woke.

I managed to finished the blanket which I stuffed up - I'll put up a pic later.

Going to make up a parcel today and send it to charity, 4 blankets and some bootees.

There is a market on tomorrow and Sunday and tomorrow the Ovation of the Seas is in port, so I guess the market will be fully booked because I'm now feeling well enough to go. Oh well. I guess I'll find something else to do instead.

Have a super day everyone.

Dammm kuaka, don't you hate when you have plans and someone delays them. I keep thinking I could have that done by now lol. Your suite sounds lovely, and no stiff neck is a bonus.

Our Maddy arrives today for the weekend so we are going to be quite busy. And Dora the Explorer will no doubt be the only thing worth watching on the telly no doubt lol. Luckily she only watches TV for an hour before bedtime. Can only take so much Dora.

Happy knitting :)

Make the most of your visit kiwimade, have lots of cuddles!

Here's a pic of the latest finished blanket:

https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/552894060.jpg

Honestly, I seem to have terrible trouble these days with photos. I take a pic, and it seems to disappear into the bowels of the laptop and I can find it, but can't seem to rename or move it to where I want it to be. It's only happened recently and I can't figure out why. Does anyone know a good app I can use to make photos easier to "control"????

This has only happened since I "upgraded" to Windows 10 - I think it's one of the worst things I've ever done.

Hope all the injured mend soon.

Have fun with Maddy ans Dora Kiwimade, had to giggle on FB about "dora" being a boy kitty lol.

It is too hot for me today.. its raining which can only be good for the ground. but its rendered me useless. Menatally id say Im about 55% ok.. Ive been good till now so thats a bonus.

Ive joined two rows of the blanket. Will join them this morning and go back to the squares after that. Ill alternate between squares and rows and it will still get done eventually.

I hate deciding what to have for dinner on hot days like this... bring on winter for a nice roast with all the bits lol.

lol popeye, I had to laugh at that too... I'm sure we taught our kids the birds and the bees lol.

Our daughter and her family had this gorgeous we kitten dumped on their doorstep and 'she' kinda stayed so they named her 'Dora' after that tv programme (arrgggg....even thinking of it makes me shudder lol). Turns out 'Dora' is a boy lol... suspect the name may stay (he is going to be neutered :P )

It took me ages to figure out how to upload photos from our camera and I even asked in the computing section here. I hate the way photos are uploaded with Windows 10, it's a hassle to try and copy them too or put on an USB stick if I need some printed out at the printers.

I think it is all in the settings kuaka. Sorry, I don't know of an app which may help.

Heal quickly Sunflower - too hot for plasters.
The blanket is lovely Kuaka, sorry can't help with the photo problem as don't use windows 10.
You'll have such fun I'm sure Kiwimade even with Dora as an "extra".

Lots of frustrated people around today including sister and BiL they waited over 5 hours for the cricket to start and then it was cancelled and no rain after 1pm and it hadn't been very heavy in the am anyway.
So pleased I had declined the offer to accompany them to the cricket, much more comfortable at home with the knitting.

Morning ladies, just as well I didn't have a stall on the market today as I've only just woken up and then only because the phone woke me. Didn't sleep well last night, was awake from 3am to 6, and then dozed off. I slept so well while I was sick, I seem to be back to my normal restless nights.

Posted a parcel away yesterday to Beanies for Babies and received a message from Little Sprouts to say the one I posted earlier in the week had been received, so that's good.

I'm knitting a shawl - 433 stitches on the row - and last night I went wrong. Grrrr! Turned out I had k2 tog 4 times, instead of 3 times, so that threw the whole pattern out, fortunately it was quite near the end of the row, so didn't take long to fix, but it took me a while to find the mistake. Note to self, don't do the pattern row when you're not concentrating.

Looks like being another stunning day here. There is a slight breeze, can't decide whether to attempt some gardening before it gets too hot or make a real effort and go out to the boat. Looks to be a bit too much breeze for that. I should spray the citrus trees, but again - the breeze might stop me.

Have a fabulous day everyone.

Morning
Hope today is better for you Popeye.
Not sure how to prevent collecting wool Poppingalong, I don't particularly like having a large stash of wool but just can't let a good bargain go by so have quite a bit on hand again at the moment - only a tiny amount compared with yours Popeye lol.

Can imagine Kiwimade having a real fun time.
Off to help Sister shift today - yes they are on the move again. Unfortunately the landlord of their present house lost his job and the house that went with it so sadly for everyone involved Sister has to shift so they can come back to their own home. A big shock for all of them.
Anyway Sister found a new place quite close to their present one very quickly which is a real miracle here at the moment. A niece and husband are coming later today to help too so shouldn't be too onerous to do this time.

Cant see a lot of knitting getting done this weekend.

Morning ladies, son and girlfriend arrived late morning and the cat took one look at the dog and she bolted through the cat door and wasn't seen again till bedtime! I guess she will get used to him in time - he's used to cat, but of course my cat doesn't know that.

We sat out on the deck for ages and chatted, then they went and had an afternoon nap, as they were both tired. We had a bbq tea and then went further north to go fishing. He has one of those "torpedo" electric kontikis, and yesterday it failed to produce. There was a chap surf-casting about 50 metres away and he had pulled in 3 or 4 nice big snapper by the time son had set everything up and got the torpedo out. When he brought it in there were three little throwbacks and a tiny kahawai. He did a second set, (by this time matey alongside us had his limit of 7, packed up and went home), and this produced one legal snapper, a stingray and a huge lump of seaweed.

It was after 1am when we finally left. Son had had two or three beers so I offered to drive, but he said he was fine. Course he got stopped on the way home and breath-tested, and had to go off in the police car for "evidential testing" and I had to pick him up from the cop shop. Turned out he was under the limit but when I went to start his Safari, it wouldn't start, so we had to walk home, get my Safari, and go back and jump-start it. We finally got home at 2.30am. Not a very successful fishing trip, it was memorable though - even if for the wrong reasons.

No real plans for today - hope we could get out to the boat this morning, but already there is more wind that I would prefer, and there's no sign of life from the young ones. They plan to head home tomorrow.

Hope to do some knitting today. Have a super day everyone.

Morning everyone

Ohh what a day Kuaka.. One weekend that wont be forgotten thats for sure.

The clouds are coming in here... its warm but not too bad yet.

Im going to put the washing on when I get off here, and do some dishes. And MrP will be peeling onions for me to bottle.
I have a " thing" about nice jars and got a box without about 10 i think in it yesterday for a dollar. 5 are Pattacks jars and they are nice, so Ill use those and some other pretty ones I already had. I used to make full preserving jar size but they dont all fit in the tupperware deli thing we put them into, so will make the smaller jars instead.

Got a suction cup type handle at the oppy yesterday, its brand new, and makes a heck of a difference in the toilet. Not really used for pulling MrP up just as a support really. $5. so it was a good buy.

Right I better get moving and get things done

Have a fab day all

Afternoon all - stunning day here in Napier - everything is parched now they tell us we have ecoli in the water - I guess for a family it is a biggie having to boil water or buy -
Kuaka my old boy was a fisherman - for years we had endless hours of fun and caught many fish on the old type Kon tiki with a sail but he decided one year to buy one of those new fangled electric ones - it was hilarious - the beach where we regularly camped had a weird tidal patten and th kontiki would invariably end up going like a horseshoe and ending up back on the beach kms away -the manufacturers came and tried to put one out there to no avail so refunded his money -
MrG made apricot jam last year with the grandkids and had been saving all the Roses marmalade jars - which are lovely Popeye - unfortunately he didn't get to do it - but at least he did it once with the grandaughter who had absolutely no idea what jam was made out of
Haven't been sleeping at all well so Sophie is tucked away

Morning
Yum apricot jam - was always my favourite as a child. Mum always put some of the apricot kernels in it, I'm not sure why, but they were always very popular with us kids and whoa betide anyone who took more than one lol.

Had a couple of rather busy days helping with the shift, the actual moving day is Wednesday but as the new place is close we have taken car loads of things over which has saved actually having to pack them and just leaves the big stuff for the movers. Niece and her husband worked really hard yesterday and we did a lot more than anticipated, they go back to Wellington today so the rest of us are going to have a day to re energise especially as they have forecast temperatures of 34!

Last evening we got take always and went down to Marine Parade which is so beautiful in the cool of the evening.

Have to do baking for Mainly Music which restarts tomorrow but will make fudge cake so won't need to put oven on. Otherwise think it will be a quiet craft type day.

Morning everyone.

Apricot jam is my favourite too. I think Alison holst has a recipe with the kernals in. It helps with the flavour.

One of my favourite memories with my dads Mum was, we would stay with her in her wee council flat ( That she actually designed) and we ( my twin and 2 cousins) would have a thril of going into Auckland, go to Farmers for Lunch in the tearooms at the top. And Nanas sister worked there. Then we would go to the Civic theatre to see Nanas brother in law, who managed it so we got into the movies for nothing. nana would buy 1 packet of sparkles for us to share.
Then when finished she would take us to the french bakery for crossants (SP) . The next morning she would give us breakfast in bed with warm crossants and her Homemade apricot jam.
She made it from Dried apricots.

I make mine the Delia Smith way, soaking the fruit in the sugar overnight.

Had a good day yesterday. Washing done and dry, pickled the onions, did a mountain of dishes. Peeled alot of dry skin off MrPs legs, they are looking really good now. Plus a [pedicure and manicure for him. Then while he slept i picked beans and got tea sorted. Tidied my plastics cupboard and cleared the junk that was collecting on the table. I enjoyed every minute of it.
Apart from having a sugar low combined with too much heat, that was a little scary. I couldnt even control my shakes enough to mash the tatties. MrP did that. Was fine after I ate and sat by the fan.

Crochet 3 squares while watching the OJ Simple show on Discovery.. What a shocking police job they did. And I seldom critisize the police.

Today is a lull day. Will fold washing, clean MrP's shaver and crochet.

Enough of my ramblings.. Have a fab day everyone

Thanks for the offer Popeye but I have a couple of recipes that make many biscuits, one has chocolate and apricots in it but I make it into a slice as not as fiddly as making biscuits, the mums love this one so I make it every second time - we get about 2 baking per term.
I make the fudge slice the other time which also seems quite popular it is an easy recipe which I change a bit making it chocolate, lemon or whatever depending on my mood.
The other people also have their regular things such as pikelets, scones etc so we end up with a "buttered" item and a cake/slice for the adults. The kids get biscuits but as these days so many kids seem to have allergies etc we keep these very simple and basic.

Morning ladies, son and girlfriend have just left, they want to get back to Auckland before it gets too hot. House seems very quiet after they have gone. Doesn't take me long to get used to it again.

No idea what I will do today, we didn't get out to the boat, so that is still forefront on the plan, but it might not happen today - tide is too far out at the moment, but if the wind hasn't got up too much by the time the tide is right, then I will go.

Citrus trees need spraying too, so that's another job to think about. Also need to find the box of "staples" which I bought ages ago to put the weed matting on the garden. The box seems to have disappeared. I will have to do a thorough search. Don't want to buy more, as the box wasn't cheap.

Club this evening for the membership draw - it's $700 tonight I think.

Have a super day everyone.

Morning ladies, I went out to the boat yesterday, it got a bit choppy on the way and I was tempted to turn back, but kept going. The chap who is supposed to be painting the masts and booms in return for Mr K giving him our little fishing boat, has started, but what an awful job he has done, there's gaps, drips and runs all over the place and you can see all the brush marks. Wish he'd left it alone now and Mr K should (on reflection) have given my son the little boat. Then I got inside and the birds had been in again, and built another nest, there were feathers and poo everywhere. Not sure how they got in as I blocked up where I thought they were getting in. The motor wouldn't start as the battery didn't have enough oomph. Grrrr.

Got a call from "you know who" while I was at the club and I ignored it, so next thing a text, Thai restaurant or fish and chips??? Replied sorry, I'm at the club, I went out to the boat and I'm knackered so I'm going to have an early night. Nobody won the membership draw so next week will be $800 - that would come in useful.

I've searched and can't find the pins/staples for the weed matting, so I guess I will have to buy more, and then the others will turn up. Might go to the tip with the recyclables this morning and call in and get some on the way home.

Mah jong this afternoon, and market tomorrow. I was talking to a stall holder at the club last night. She said it's been very quiet lately, so not holding my breath but hoping for some sales. It's a long boring day if you just sit and wait for customers but if I'm not there I won't sell anything.

Have a super day everyone.

What a pity about the boat Kuaka.. dont be shy and tell him hes not doing the best job. Thats the trouble when things are "paid" for ahead of the job, sadly.
You know who is a tad demanding isnt he.. Thinks your waiting at hime alone for an invitation. Glad you said no.

Kiwimade must be worn out lol from Maddy.

Theres a misty rain here this morning. And very humid.

The fibre cable guys are finally onto our corner, so the noise started at 7-30. And it will get worse as the day goes by. The lawn mowing man wont be able to do all the lawn.
I got our car out as i have to go do my INR, and didnt want the lawn mowing man parking over our drivway, since the workers have a truck filling the carpark out the front.

Got my 8 squares finished with ends sewn in last night. So today I will join too more rows of the first one. Alternating them means I dont get weighed down by just doing squares.

Will be having a day out this week with my school friend who is on holiday, so Im hoping it will be Thursday so I can do the shopping while out.

Hmmm wont be able to run over the footpath on the corner and park out front to get the groceries out now, cos of the workers.. B*gger... lol.

Have a fab day all and stay cool.

morning ladies :) We have had a very busy few days with Maddy staying. First night she was very unsettled but the Furry One hopped up onto her bed and snuggled with her until she fell asleep. Didn't have to call him, he just did it. Then at 5.00am I have a little voice in my ear, nanna, I'm awake! So into our bed she hops lol. The next few nights she was fine although by Sunday she was ready for home. Heard her say to the Furry One, come on Bandit, let's go home lol. Monday her mum and dad stayed as her dad was meeting a friend at the Auckland airport yesterday so silly to travel an hour twenty minutes home to travel again the next day. So they finally left with their Aussie friend late last night. The house is very quiet - no Dora! Omg I am soooo over Dora the Explorer, Dugee and Go Diego Go.

Today I'm planting some plants for dad, my sister who he lives with is building a garden (well, I'm doing it for her lol). It's a good overcast day for putting in new plants and there has been some rain. Just hope my sister has put the plants in a bucket of water for me.

Will find time to stitch today sometime, I need more thread so we are going to Tauranga tomorrow to visit MrK's sister and I will buy some there. But I have enough to last for today.

Kuaka, you-now-who is a persistent pest isn't he. Time to be blunt I think.

Happy knitting :)

Morning
Rained heavily during the night so the garden is very happy again but not the best timing to have a wet day as Sister's big shift day.
The cooler night was so appreciated and slept like a log.

Was lovely seeing all the little ones at Mainly Music, it always surprises me how much small children grow in 6 weeks. I did the washing when I got home and it was dry in an hour - temp. was over 33 - which saves trying to dry it in the garage today.

Isn't it so frustrating Kuaka when someone doesn't do a job properly.

Well off now to help with the shift, at least each time they move they get rid of some more stuff! It also makes me realise I have things I don't use too so clear out a bit more too lol.

Enjoy your day

Morning everyone.
Another grey (yay) day but very humid. The wind tho is cooling down to the southerly we are meant to get later (Yay) lol.

Lawn man might arrive today, he must be still catching up from the long weekends. The workers are out there working again so no sleep ins at the mo.

Have now got 4 rows joined so a 3rd of the way already, back to squares today.

My friend and I are going out tomorrow. Not exactly sure where but I do know we are going to the pet factory, where her brother works. To see about getting a cat door for her house. Exciting stuff haha not.. Ill just have to be strong and not get Missy moo anything cos she really has enough toys.

Have fun in the garden Kiwimade and I hope it stays dry at the right times Jayemtoo.

Have a fab day everyone

phew, back from dad's. What I thought would be an hour long job was three back breaking sweaty hours of straightening out brick edgings and spreading compost. Plants are in and dad and my sister (texted her pics) are happy.

I'll be relieving again this year sunflowers unless something obvious jumps out at me. It does kind of suit me for now as I can have that extra time with dad and family.

Time for some 'me' time.

Afternoon ladies, just home from a not terribly successful market - I did manage to sell a couple of items, so two more than if I'd stayed home and two more than a friend of mine, but it was pretty quiet in general, the passengers on the cruise ship all seemed to have deep pockets and short arms.

Supposed to be going out for tea at "you know who's" - he asked me over a week ago, but yesterday he sent me a text and suggested he call in at 8.30 yesterday on his way home, so I texted back saying I would prefer he didn't as I had to get ready for the market and needed an early night, and I was feeling smothered by all his attentions, so he thanked me for my honesty and said he would give me heaps of space, so I've not heard a squeak today and don't know if tea is still on or not. I can't really be bothered going, nor can I be bothered cooking my own! He had several other friends going too.

The "painter" phoned me today and I asked was he happy with what he's done and he said "absolutely not, I'm going to sand it all back and put another coat on" so I said that'll be good 'cos at the moment it looks like it's been done by a 10 year old.

Just having a nice cold cider, and I will decide whether to go out or not.

Have a super evening - fingers crossed for some rain tonight.

Morning
Enjoy the teaching Kiwimade be a change from gardening lol.
Love " go with the flow" outings Popeye often they turn out more fun than the carefully planned ones.

Well the shift went well, the truck was there 8am and all moved before lunch, we had taken a lot of stuff already so as not to have to pack it. I spent the day wiping out cupboards, cleaning etc. Just need to have the stuff in the garage collected or to the dump and it's finished.
No knitting yesterday as didn't have much ooomph left by evening so early night instead.

Morning ladies. Yay - it's raining! Finally, first decent rain we've had since before Christmas, it started drizzling just before midnight but was so heavy on the roof it woke me at 5am and it's still raining. My beans will love it, sadly so will the weeds and the lawns. My citrus trees need it too.

Had thought I might go to Kerikeri shopping today, but won't bother, the roads will be deadly greasy, so will wait.

Well in the end I sent a text to you know who asking was I still invited, and he replied that they would be delighted if I would join them, so I text back that I'm just home from the market so need a shower and I'll be there asap. Had a lovely meal, met a really delightful lady (who I met at the Russell op shop and in the Paihia one) turns out she is into handcrafts and goes to the fibre-art group in Kerikeri that is run by one of the ladies at the market (small world) and I can't go to it as it's on a Monday when I'm at the op shop. Might start finding someone to do my shift once a month so I can go. The ladies did the dishes, had a cup of tea and came home. So looks like he's in "waiting mode" - waiting for me to change my mind, or waiting to pounce. Not quite sure.

Anyway looks like today is going to be a tidy up indoors type of day and then knit this afternoon. Sister-in-law has asked me to crochet an owl peggy square blanket for a great-grand son due in May. Have to see if I can find the pattern for it. I've asked her what colour scheme she would like.

Have a super day everyone, and enjoy your day shopping popeye and your day in the classroom kiwimade, relax jayemtoo - I'm sure you've earned an easy day.

I have a pattern for the owl blanket if you can't find it kuaka, can send it to you through FB if needbe.

Had a fabulous day with the kids today, love teaching the bigger kids as you can do a lot more with them.

MrK has gone out with his mate to have a beer so I'll pick him up later.

Time to have a sit down and stitch I think.

Well we are home.

It was a real Tiki Tour.. Ended up and Lyn Mall which is huge. While we were near an exit do this poor older lady trips on the lip of the door and fell down to the floor. So we made her comfortable, another lady rang the ambulance and they didnt appear very keen to come out until she told them that the lady was 85.. She hurt her leg and to me it looked like she had dislocated her kneecap.
Another man came up and told us there was a medical centre just around the corner so he went there and a nurse came with oxygen and a kit, and then another man arrived with a wheelchair. And security arrived. We were standing right beside the defribulator so it was nice to know it was there.

She was very shaken and will no doubt feel alot worse tomorrow.. I said to her I imagine you have alot od english blood in you, Her skin was beautiful. she hardly looked past 70 let alone 85.

Its not something that will leave my mind for a while. We my friend Dot and I went into carer mode and St john mode cos it was her parents that taught the young ones, which is where I learn too.

Then we went to Panmure or Penrose, not surr which, had lunch and went to the pet factory place. Ive seen a cool cat house with a cave, two high stands and two scratch poles. And cos dots brother works there we can get 25% off. So its processing in MrPs head for a while now.

Went to Kmart, spent a long time trying to find Dot a matching pair was PJ's lol Not successfull. But it was soo Much tidier in there than the Manukau one. I got 2 tops for $2 each and some pretty paper and luggage labels. So with lunch and that I spent the grand sum of $22 lol... Im a cheap date lol

Weary and a bit sore but it was lovely to get out and about.

I just wish I could Unsee Mrs Sparks falling.

Morning
Lovely that you had such a good classroom day Kiwimade.
Oh dear what an eventful day you had Popeye, yes it can be rather unsettling seeing someone injure themselves but great that you and your friend were there to help her, no doubt she will really appreciate having caring people around when needed.

Had a great play in garden yesterday as ground lovely and moist to weed. The cheeky birds have started on the grapes and they are only just softening up, seem to be early this year so I have had to cover them.

Off back to the factory this am as haven't been there for a few days with the shifting. Have started clearing out some of the 'hidden' shelves in wardrobes as doing the shift has made me think of things I could get rid of such as old text books which are about 10 years since I last used them, sort of forgot I had them.

Onto last sleeve of 3 yr olds cardy hope this one fits her a bit better than the last one which will be for next year I think.
