I reckon you can never have too much wool either

#Post

Morning ladies, up early this morning - I had an awful day yesterday with a serious bout of Delhi belly, and lost count of how many trips to the loo I had. I came home from the op shop and went to bed at 1.30 and slept till just after 4. I didn't go to the club, but forced myself to eat a tiny amount of tea, because I was starving, having had no lunch. Went to bed early and slept all night.

Hope whatever it was has gone because I'm at the market today, so fingers crossed for lots of sales and not many visits to the loo!

I've got my knitting bag organised with some crochet and knitting so that I don't have to sit and just twiddle my thumbs, but it would be nice to be so busy that I don't have time to do any.

Have a super day everyone.

morning
just typed a long message and lost it all :(

Oh dear Kuaka not nice thing to get but fortunately these things go as fast as they arrive.

Had a great fun day at Splash Planet on Sunday, It wasn't too busy so the queues for rides were reasonable and we all enjoyed going on the various activities. Did think they need to put in an escalator up to the water slides for gold card holders as the stairs are quite high but there again I guess they don't get too many crazy older ones using them! haha.

Saw my visitors off yesterday morning on the bus back to Auckland, its a longish trip but a fun and different way to see the country. Appreciated the hot weather as did several loads of washing. Had to go out all morning but put in the last load when I got home 1.30pm. Sat down to read a bit while waiting for it and about 2.30 thought I should hang it out but next thing I knew it was 4pm - most unusual for me to sleep in the daytime but was rather tired and felt so good after it and the washing dried despite the latish hanging out.

Doing the icords for the 'ballerina' cardy Im doing and started the next one.

Have a great day

Morning everyone

Annoying when it all dissappears eh Jayemtoo.

Wow Kuaka, hope your feeling better today. and have lots of sales.

You must have needed the sleep Jayemtoo.

Taking Mrp to the drs this morning, with a nice pair of huge blisters on the back of one leg. But I have photos too if they burst before we get there.
I have to ask her if the lump on my arm needs freezing or to be cut out.

Had a nice relaxing afternoon yesterday. And had a yummy potato bake and pork chops for tea.
Its really nice having my floors done, it makes me feel happier when they are done regularly.

More stitching and crochet for me later.

Have a fab day

Morning all - beautiful day -warm already -I seem to be going from one disaster to the other had my son scrambling around in my car last night - went to get my drivers licence out of my bag - the little plastic folder holding both my kiwi and Ozzie licences nowhere to be found - the stuff I tipped out of my bag had his eyebrows touching his hair line - will head off to the AA later today and hopefully get a new one
I have seen those stairs at splash planet Jayemtoo - well done for conquering them
I have a lady coming tomorrow Popeye to do my floors and the bathroom -I really struggle - I had polio as a child and pushing the cleaner or scrubbing the shower is real painful
Not sure if Sophie will get some attention today or not

Morning ladies, a very quiet day at the market yesterday, so did quite a lot of crochet and some knitting - I managed to sell a couple of items so paid for the stall fee, but I wouldn't want to be doing it for a living - I think I'd be very thin!

Another market on Friday, apparently it's a very expensive cruise where people pay approx $320,000 to live aboard for a year. Hope they have some money left to buy things at the market, and hope I'm feeling better by then as I have an awful sore throat and cough right now.

One of the newly arrived locals is having a "wool sale" at her house this morning as she and her partner recently moved up here from somewhere else (can't remember where) and closed down a wool/sewing shop, so are getting rid of their stock. A friend and I will go and see if there are any bargains to be snaffled up.

Then I think it will be a "take it easy" day. Don't think I will go to knit and natter, as I don't want to give anyone else my bugs.

Have a super day everyone.

Morning everyone,

Yeah making profits at markets can be hard work eh Kuaka. Hope you manage to get some rest and rehcarge your batteries..

I have very sore fingers lol... arthritis and compression banages and socks are not a good mix lol... Normal ache I can cope with, this is plan nasty lol..

I dont know what Ill do today, it will depend on what is comfortable.. Im finding it funny, but painful lol.

My twin wants to catch up today, typing may help wear the pain out lol.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning all - blowing like mad today again -off to the AA to sort out my lost licence - found my birth certificate but not marriage certificate - passport expired - power bill etc in my old boys name so am having problems with acceptable ID -
Those compression bandages sometimes are very difficult for sure Popeye
Not sure I will do any Sophie today -

morning ladies :) Our students leave us for Rotorua this morning, they have been a lot of fun to have stay.

No knitting for me but I did finish the cardy, and yes, everyone was right, lol, not enough of the type of button I needed in my jar so I will buy buttons today.

Sounds like everyone has been busy, wow jayemtoo, you are one hip gold card holder lol. Good on you enjoying the Splash Planet. Why should kids have all the fun.

Ahhhh a Sophies Universe Gerry, just beautiful. Can't wait to see your pics when it's done and mrK always talks when I'm counting too. And not having ID of our own makes me thik I must go through our accounts and see what is in just my name. MrK is older than me so it is something I need to think about.

Anyhoo, better get our students out of bed as they have a bus to catch shortly.

Happy knitting :)

Morning
Blustery day ahead by the look of it but nowhere as bad as some areas are having.
Think it's going to be a 'routine' day, housework, garden, supermarket and of course a bit of knitting.
Finished sewing up a little cardy yesterday and as niece has requested some white things for baby I went and got some white wool and started a little matinee jacket for her. It's a very straight forward pattern and as I went to the library yesterday I'm enjoying 2 activities at the same time.

Have a good day

Morning everyone.

Warm windy and wet here... Yay lol.. well minus the heat, and thats meant to change later.
Glad you had fun with the students Kiwimade, i bet you are learning alot too.
Sorry, have to laugh re the buttons tho. lol

Finished the stitching part of the next little hanging ornament last night. Just have to glue the ribbon and backing on it. A little happier with this one.

Banking and shopping this morning. MrP is staying home. I have a niggly sciatica nerve, so Ill be very careful when I move around. They are nasty when they pinch.

Have a fab day everyone.

Oh edit to add.
Make sure you have your power, phone etc in both your names... I know a lady who always had it in her husbands name, when he died she had major trouble getting things put into her name, cos she didnt have a credit history with any of those type companies.

Morning all - yes another blustery day here - just talked to my family in Dunedin they would love to send me some of their rain - my DIL is watching her beautiful peony roses and her lilies being destroyed before the blooms can open -
Yes kiwimade - my husband was a 4 years younger than me and it was always the family joke I had picked him to look after me when I got old - in my working life I was financial manager of a large company so the last thing I wanted to do when I came home was to do the domestic finances so it is something he always did - I had only just changed my car into my name and insured it in my name - thank goodness - the only letter I had with my name was from Winz about my pension but that isn't acceptable but a power bill is - can't figure that out -
My 99 year old Mum is coming for lunch today - she wants blimmin KFC - can't argue with her she can still bend over and touch her toes - walks unaided so if she wants junk food when she escapes from the rest home good on her

Morning ladies, sorry I had to laugh too about your buttons kiwimade, and yes this ID thing can be a real problem. Because mr k was so much older and me and we always expected him to go first, all the utility accounts were in my name, but because our stupid postie refuses to deliver mail to us we have a PO Box and all my accounts now come by email so when I had to provide ID with my home address recently I found it very difficult. I ended up using a letter from the council which they had written to confirm that they had replaced my faulty water meter. Years ago Telecom wouldn't change my account from my maiden name to my married name without sighting my marriage certificate.

Anyway I'm still feeling miserable, hacking cough and pounding headache. Will be a very quiet day sitting in the chair knitting if I feel like it otherwise just sitting. Hope everyone else is well.

We have no rain here yet, it's overcast and not terribly warm, but no rain as yet, don't think we will get all that much, it will have just about fizzled out by the time it gets up this far.

Have a super day everyone.

Calm, sunny and blue sky in Wgtn west this morning but my goodness there were some very strong gusts during the night. Amazingly no damage in the garden. Kuala, hope you are feeling better soon.

Morning
Take care Kuaka and get better quickly.
Good on your Mum Gerry having what she likes when she visits you, it would be a nice change from her usual diet no doubt.

It's a bit cooler at the moment so will be lovely out at the factory this morning.
Brought a new clothes line yesterday as the old one is nearly rusted through will have to work out how to remove the old one and put up the new one at some stage but no rush. I'll put on the CRC today and that should help, have great faith in that stuff lol.

Onto the sleeves of the matinee jacket, it is the sort that you knit to the yoke then do the sleeves and incorporate them into the yoke to finish it. I am making it very plain and then I would like to do a bit of embroidery on it, will see how it goes.

morning ladies :) Good on you mum Gerry, I don't blame her one bit! At her age she can do whatever she wants!

Hope you are feeling better today kuaka.

Boy did we have some rain yesterday, nothing like the South Island though. I see some ladies in a rose group I belong to had picked their roses before the wind hit. Think I would have done the same.

I'm back into my hardanger, this is going to take months to do but I don't mind. I'll have to find something else to work on as the same-old same-old gets a bit tedious with bigger projects.

happy knitting :)

Morning all - had a lovely time with Mum - apart from her eye sight she is in real good nick - recently when she had her gallbladder removed the surgeons said her body and organs are that of a 60 year old - she says she has left her body to science reckons she can unlock the secret to ageing! One thing is for sure I don't have her genes unfortunately
Much cooler today but still windy - wish we would have some rain - terribly dry here - the farmers are facing a drought for sure
Found a lovely little half made crochet mouse yesterday in a bag - might spend some time today seeing if I can find the pattern to finish it off - poor old Sophie might get neglected again today

Morning everyone.

We have sun rain and wind... kinda nice. It was cool at 6am tho.. pulled the blankets up lol.
Hope your feeling better Kuaka.

I love hearing of the Older people who still have lots of life left in them.

Yayay I unpinched my sciatica this morning.. Still very sore but it doesnt grab me everytime I move now.
MrP's legs are slowly mending.

Sounds like the fibre mend are getting close again, they have been on the other side of the corner, but yesterday were back further up the road. Im dreading when they do our Corner. The noise is bad enough but to have vibrations on top of it, wont be much fun. Still once its done its all over, until they figure out an even faster way to run the internet lol.

Erin comes this afternoon. shes such a ray of sunshine.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning ladies, well I'm feeling no better, so I've just made an appointment to see the doc at midday, see if she can give me some magic potion to make me stop coughing or at least cough something up, my chest and throat is so sore from constantly coughing, it's not funny.

Did quite a bit of knitting yesterday but did nothing else, just sat. It is so frustrating. I need to be doing work on the boat and in the garden and all I can do is just sit. Grrr.

Good on your mum Gerry, I reckon if I live much longer I'll be doing exactly as I please, she sounds like an amazing lady.

Trying to sell my old dining suite, I listed it on here first but it didn't sell, so I've put it on fb. $550 for the table and 6 chairs, $490 for the sideboard. Some twit asked would I take $300 for the table and chairs and would I deliver it to them in whangarei then someone else asked would I take $100. Honestly. I'd rather use it for firewood.

That's my rant for the day,

Have a good day everyone.

Well doc wasn't really much help, she said my temp is normal, my chest is clear, my bp is okay, she said antibiotics won't help, but has given me a script for some in case I get worse over the weekend but she thinks I should start to feel better in a day or so but I can expect the cough to continue for up to 3 weeks - so that's something to look forward to. She's given me a script for paracetamol/codeine. I was pretty sure I have some so didn't even bother going to the chemist, and sure enough, there's some in mr ks drawer so I will use them and go to the chemist next week.

Going to have a hot drink and knit now that I know I will live!

Morning
Yes time can be a great healer Kuaka just as long as we let it - so much easier to say than to do as we all seem to want/like to keep on the go! Do hope you improve quickly. I always keep a supply of Paracetamol/codeine tabs on hand for those annoying coughs - codeine is a great cough suppressant which unfortunately you can't buy actually in a cough mixture anymore as the meth producers used to buy it up in build as one of their ingredients.

Im off again to Hamilton as soon as I finish my coffee and get organised. Sister is having her family "gathering" she does it most years about this time if possible, but not actually at Christmas. Just hope the weather behaves this evening as it's becoming a bit of a joke the number of times there's a heavy shower of rain about the same time as people arrive - erratic Waikato weather lol.

Then haveing a house full for next week so have made up beds ready and put up the portacot for the baby - gosh you almost need an engineering degree for that!

Took down the old clothes line yesterday without too much trouble - yes the CRC worked wonders on the bolts but of course to be awkward the new one has holes in different places to the old one even though it is the same size etc. Will have to borrow BiL drill to make new ones as the stands are metal and my drill isn't strong enough, but that will have to wait until next week.

Ok coffee finished knitting packed so ready to hit the road.
Have a good day All

Morning everyone

Safe travelling Jayemtoo...

Hope you feel better soon Kuaka. we remember when three of us had the 90 day cough.. It was plain nasty.

Ive given in and taken an oxycontin.. Dont know that its helping as yet, should have taken it last night.. The strange thing is If I could cry id probably feel better. but it doesnt want to happen. Normally im good at crying lol.
Had MrP lay his hands on me this morning. He has healing hands. You feel the warmth get right into your bones. So add to the mix the joint releif cream hopefully things will improve.
Our homehelp lady is coming this morning to Dress Mrp's legs for us. Its a massive struggle for me at the mo. So she is doing the morning and Ill do the night time change.
Finally got the plastic bags I ordered from here. The seller actually brought them down from Auckland, as two orders were mixed up.. So that was awesome.

Will try and pick up my crochet today. Havent done any since about wednesday I think.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning all - hope the new pills help you Popeye - somebody coming in in the morning to help out with the nursing duties is a tremendous help as I found out - after refusing help at first I soon realised the benefit
One branch of my family - not MrGs family are continuing to be blimmin nasty about the funeral and what they perceive as the inadequacies of it - doesn't matter it was what he wanted and everybody else including the funeral directors have commented on how much they took from it - he was a real hands on a Dad and Grandad so there was plenty of stories for the kids and grandkids to tell - yes it was humorous but he was a humerous funny man - why do oeople have to be so cruel -
Anyway I am off to feed a friends flock of cats - yes flock is the perfect word - I think every second stray cat in Napier finds its way to her property - she has a lovely stream running through her property our little dog usually has a swim in it but he is going to be very puzzled as she tells me it has completely dried up
No crochet today my inner tension would show in my crochet for sure

morning ladies :) I've had a busy morning mowing the lawn before the weather packs in. Sorry jayemtoo, the Waikato weather is meant to be rubbish tomorrow!

People just don't think do they Gerry, if that is what your husband wanted then that should be the end of the matter. I would ignore them, they aren't worth the stress or worry.

Back to my hardanger today, will set myself a target and try and stitch to it.

Safe travels jayemtoo, watch those gusts of wind on that Napier/Taupo stretch. And those who are unwell, hopefully you are on the mend.

happy knitting :)

Hate it when people moan about funerals. Im sure most are done the way the person wanted it.
When we had a service for my brother who died in Aussie, we told everyone there would be no religion. But one of my Incles got up to speak and it ended up like a revival, he was trying to call people up the front to be saved.
When it came to mums service, we made sure no one else got up to speak. She didnt even want a service, just a family gathering at home. But for her siblings we had the service, but made it so well organised that Uncle didnt get a chance.

Ill always remember MrP's brothers funeral. It was a really hard case funeral. Alot of laughing etc.. But it had its odd stage too, the familys were on hers and his sides at the chapel. and then After he was interned there was a cup of tea etc back at the chappel and her family didnt even bother to turn up. To this day we dont know where they went.

Have done three squares today, which is good.

popeye333 - 2017-01-21 18:10:00
11176

Yes Popeye it was a humerous funeral because he had a wicked sense of humour and the kids and grandkids had stories to tell about having fun with him - one grandaughter told of being at a whirlpool swim pool and he laughed so hard he spat his false teeth out and they had to try and get them ducking under the water as little kids were trying to get away from these teeth - my youngest boy told a couple of hilarious stories but he finished by saying his Dad had told him he was proud he had built up such a successful business but not to forget to stop and smell the roses - he said his father probably thought he had spent too much time smelling the roses as over the last 3 months he had hugged and kissed his Dad and told him he loved him more than he had in the last 42 years - and he had - but this cow of a woman didn't see the beauty in that -
Anyway I am not going to allow her to drag me down -

gerry64 - 2017-01-21 23:39:00
11177

morning ladies :) Oh wow Gerry, your husband's funeral sounds lovely and just they way I think, they should be. Nowadays it's about celebrating life and remembering the good times.

What a night we had, huge winds and rain and more rain and wind this morning. The garden seems to have survived but will go out and have a look soon.

Perfect day for crafting!

Happy knitting :)

kiwimade64 - 2017-01-22 08:02:00
11178

Morning
Thoroughly agree with you Kiwimade - it certainly should be a celebration of life and not a funeral and just however it most reflects the individuals life. Sounds like it was just right for Mr G Gerry, what great memories to share by and with the close family and that's the important thing not anybody else.

Yes you sure have yucky weather up here last night but at least it didn't start until after we had a lovely family get together and most people had headed home.
I'm off home again later ready for the onslaught tomorrow when the rest of them will come down, it is lovely having time with them all.
Not much knitting but that can wait.
Have a good day

Morning everyone
Lol Gerry at the teeth incident.. thats the stuff that should be spoken of.

I couldnt speak at my step fathers funeral, I was a mess, but I did organise it.
I wrote down what I wanted to say and a friend read it out for me. About when my stepfather taught me how to drive. The whole church was in histerics.
We charged a hug to get in the hall and told everyone it was $5 to get out. Jimmy would tell everyone he was only here for Money not friends, but he was the total opposite, he would give you the shirt of his back. Alot donated to the cancer society tho. Which was nice. And the feed was fun. But man his family were loud when they got together lol.

My pain is down to about 6 today, which is great.

I did four squares yesterday, finally. so have ends to sew in today. Im going to try and get the first one layed out and bagged up.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning all - no sign of rain here in fact the sky is getting decidedly blue - didn't water my tomatoes last night on the strength of the promised rain
Yes the false teeth were hilarious - she also told of him taking her to Mahis and swimming with him and moko the dolphin - and about him turning her skirt around at a dance concert he was at when she was 6 - she sat on a lime green iced cup cake and was devastated and wasn't going to do her dance - he calmly turned her skirt back to front told her the audience would just see a big green spot and would think she had a special part in the dance - off she went and danced -
My brother is coming today for lunch bringing his special bacon and egg pie so looking forward to that -
Did another round of Sophie last night before falling asleep in the chair - every night I turn on my craft lamp MrG built me so the light shines directly on my work it's very bittersweet - but life goes on

Morning ladies, well I'm still in the land of the living but don't feel very much alive, still got my hacking cough, phoned Virginia last night in Australia (she's a nurse) and she couldn't believe that my doc hadn't sent me for chest x-rays but doc reckons my chest is clear - but having said that I am now coughing up lumps of yucky phlegm which is making me feel sick.

Have phoned the op shop boss this morning and told her I won't be at work tomorrow. She phoned me on Friday and asked could I do Saturday and I said I couldn't, I'd just been to the doc and was unlikely to do Monday. Looked in the mirror yesterday and was shocked at how haggard I look, more like a corpse than my usual bright bubbly self, so will have to get myself better soon.

Couldn't even be bothered to knit yesterday but I did some crochet and joined some of my mile a minute blanket together. Think two more strips will make it big enough, and I've done the centres, so will try to finish it today.

I keep looking out the window at our boat and thinking I should have been more insistent that Mr K sell it but he wouldn't hear of it, would have saved me a lot of stress and grief if he had sold it while he was still able to. Can't put the clock back, so moving on!

Have a super day everyone.

Oh yes, we had rain last night, started about 11pm and was still raining when I went to bed at 12.15 - don't know how long it lasted. I went out like a light.

Never heard of it gerry, my mum always used to say it didn't do you any good if it tasted okay. I did consider going to the chemist or supermarket this morning but I've flagged that idea away. Might go tomorrow.

Wild and wooly here, rain off and on along with the wind.

Today just my normal pain killers and ve unpinched the left side.. Just the spine to go.
In two minds if I should see the dr or not now.

Didnt do any craft yesterday, probably just as well Id have been undoing it for sure lol.

Morning ladies, well it certainly doesn't look very summery outside that's for sure. I've just been out to put the top back on the bird bath. Not sure why, but it's fallen off it's pedestal twice in the space of a few days. It's concrete and really heavy, I struggle to put it back on. Can't blame puss as it was still in place when I shut her in last night and it had fallen off before I let her out this morning. Just another of life's mysteries.

Finished my mile-a-minute blanket yesterday, don't like it, don't like the yarn I used for the centres so it will be a charity one.

Still don't really feel any better, but today I am going to the chemist to get my prescription that I didn't get on Friday and then to the supermarket for a few bits. Luckily it's not far to go and I know I could ask one of my friends to go for me, but I prefer to do my own shopping. Don't need much, but puss is out of jellimeat, and I'm low on orange juice and soft drinks, and I could do with some soup. Had half a can of rice pudding and some ice cream for tea last night! Don't feel like eating a "proper" meal.

And then I can sit and carry on with my c2c blanket, which I also don't like, so it will probably be another charity blanket.

Have a good day everyone.

Actually she travels well and told me fairy tales while going over the Napier Taupo road so now I'm an expert on cinderella and snow white. Very windy in places so a slowish trip, saw a blown over truck and a couple of cars with big dents in their bonnets.
Parents and Grandparents, and baby brother of course, are coming today so will have a house full for a couple of days, all good fun.

What a breakfast Gerry - growing boys sure have hollow legs!
Hopefully the antibiotics will knock that annoying bug for you Kuaka. Know what you say about doing your own shopping I much prefer getting things for myself so I can choose.
Miss4 is happily drawing, told her she can have a go on the computer while I make lunch so she was thinking it would be a good idea to have lunch at 9.30!

Have a roast to do for dinner which will be good for today as it's reasonably cool and supposed to rain late pm.
Probably no knitting again

morning ladies :) lmao Gerry, I remember the hollow legs boys had! Our son went through five shoe sizes in a year! One day he was looking at m eye-to-eye and the next day I was looking up at him.

It was a pretty rough day here yesterday, especially for travelling the Taupo/Napier road. I was thinking about you driving jayemtoo and had my fingers crossed.

Have been into town and two new tyres are on the car and a new filter and oil for an oil change bought. And I finally bought some buttons for the cardy so will sew them on.

I'm shortly going outside to shovel a heap of compost onto a garden that desperately needs it. I spread the sheep pellets yesterday and hopefully all the rain has worked it's magic.

Hope you feel better soon kuaka and those antibiotics do the trick.

Happy knitting :)

Well Ive made an appointment with the Dr. Not our one but this one is good, shes sure got me right on the shingles years ago. I feel like I have a hot poker in my spine.... Need some poly Filler lol

Tests results back for Mrp's legs, No growths so thats a change from last time.. so maybe when this lot goes, we might get a break from it.

Still windy as... but the sun is shining

Morning
Looks like being a lovely day. Hope everywhere has better weather today and everyone is on the mend from your various ills and pains.

Sister, BiL and Italian family arrived yesterday afternoon. Miss 4 almost throttled herbbaby brother with her hugs, lovely that she missed him. Everyone still asleep so I'm making the most of a quiet cup of coffee.
The Italian Dad is a mad keen fisherman so he has sorted out all the local rivers which may have fish in and with this weather I don't think we will see much of him for the next couple of days. He sure makes the most of the fishing when he comes to NZ. All the same he did do a couple of handyman jobs for me soon after arriving to get them out of the way so free to take off today.
Not sure what the rest of us will be doing but no doubt a playground will be included at some stage.

Enjoy your day

morning ladies :) Fingers crossed all those with pain find relief today.

Lovely having a house full isn't it jayemtoo. Looking forward to having our daughter and two grandies stay this long weekend and we have Maddy all to ourselves Waitangi weekend as well. The Furry One will be super excited to see Maddy.

Today I prune the trifford growing over dad's deck. As much as we love the grapes, it grows like mad. Only pruned it back two weeks ago too.

I was watching some you tube clips last night about nail polish and how to apply it. Our daughter gave me some glitter to put on nails and I had no idea how to do it so today I'm off to the chemist to buy a few bits and pieces to get me started. Can't see me wearing it much but it looks fun and we have a 21st to go too soon where I can wear it to as well as the Bruce Springsteen concert next month.

Didn't get the buttons on the cardy, better do that today.

Happy knitting :)

Morning ladies, the joys of living in a small town! I had a message yesterday afternoon from my friend that I normally do monday morning with in the op shop. She said one of the regulars popped in and said they'd just seen me in town and she assured them it couldn't have been me as I am at home sick. I explained that it probably was as I'd been to the chemist (didn't mention I'd also been to the supermarket), then I had an email from another friend to say she'd noticed my car missing when she went past and hopes that I'm better and out and about and not at the doctors again.

I think I feel very slightly better. Here's hoping I'm improving.

kiwimade, my nieces daughters sometimes paint my sisters nails for her really fancy (she has beautiful nails - not like me) and she says she often wonders what the checkout operators at the supermarket think of this silly old woman with fancy nails (she's older than me - and looks it) I think painting your nails helps protect them and makes them stronger. I just find it doesn't last long enough and there's nothing worse than chipped nail polish.

Hope everyone else is well. Have a good day.

Morning everyone.

Good luck to the fisherman Jayemtoo.. who knows he might supply tea.

Sometimes living in a small town does get a bit too small when people know your business before you do eh Kuaka.

Our blackberries are growing like mad to Kiwimade, but they wont get pruned until after the fruit. Its really grown since we gave it a big haircut last year.
Sadly our Passionfruit is dying again.. we wont grow another one..its really dissappointing seeing all the lovely fruit and then it just dies on the fence.

Saw the dr, theres nothing they can do. i just have to learn to live with it and manage my pain as best as I can do. One good thing tho Mrp came with me and heard it straight from the horses mouth, so to speak. So he knows Im not putting anything on and nothing they can do either.

Will sew some ends in today, havent done anything much since Saturday.

Have a fab day everyone

I agree about the chipped nail polish kuaka and mine comes off as soon as I notice it chipped. I've had a wee tutu with the glitter... omgg lmao, I dropped the bottle of glitter and it's everywhere! I think I spotted some in the Furry One's fur too lol. Oh well, will have another go soon. Wish daughter had bought me the polish with the glitter in it and not the separate glitter. Never mind, I will get there in the end.

I've stitched a bit more hardanger and will sew the buttons on the cardy tonight, I'll be having a beer with friends shortly.

No wind! Or only a bit, not the gales we've been having!

We have a gentle breeze too Kiwimade.

Oops re the glitter. did you have a cloth down under your hand?

I too cannot stand chipped nailpolish. Im not a fan of how closed in it makes my nails feel. Cant wear it in the summer.

I was feeling a bit sleepy so had about and hour and a half sleep. Could feel myself fading away lol.
Landlord stopped in with a bag of plums and a warm jar of jam. I didnt hear her but Missy did, and she was sleeping on my hip so felt her get off in a hurry.
But I do feel brighter, and the pain is easing. Yay.

Have sewn all my ends in and am a third of the way through the second blankets squares. So Im pleased with that.

Put a steamed pudding on before I went to bed.. I Know thats placing alot of trust on MrP's head making sure he kept the water level up. it will come out shortly/ so steamed pudding and custard for tea.. YUMMM

Morning
Oh dear re the glitter Kiwimade - it sure goes a looooong way when spilt, it is one thing I no longer include in my craft box for visiting little ones lol.

We had a lovely day yesterday, collected a 10yr old friend,s girl and Went to the bike park and took scooters for The girls and then to the playground next door, home for lunch and the girls and I watched The Sound of Music DVD to relax a bit while the others went shopping so I managed to get a little knitting done too.
I then took miss4 to the supermarket dressed in all her "princess" finery of a long flowery dress, beads and a crown, I almost felt underdressed for shopping in my ordinary clothes lol.

Evening went to Ocean Spa, which has warm pools and we had a lovely soak - nice and relaxing.

No doubt another full-on day coming up - love it.

Have a great day Everyone and keep well

morning ladies :) yes, well, lol, glitter. I vacuumed but can see I will be vacuuming again this morning lol. Oh well.

No wind this morning so I'm going outside to spray the weeds where we park the car and out the back of the house. Then I'll de-head the roses.

Sounds like you are having a wonderful time jayemtoo. Love the princess outfit... you should have worn pearls lol.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone

Sounds like your having a ball Jayemtoo.. I agree with Kiwimade, Pearls are a must lol

We still have a breeze, its very dark so it may rain, I didnt see the weather last night.

We are down to only two patches on MrPs legs.. The others are all healed enough, not to need covering.. Yayay.. A few days ago I tried Mebo cream which is for burns.. Its what they use in hospitals. And its working well..
My pain is under control unless I stand to long etc.. Ive not had an oxy this morning, I need to go get more tape etc so will take it when I get home.

Might start another cross stitch later.. Will see what the pills do to me lol.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning all - cloud is slowly burning off going to be another blue sky day I think - will head out to the dog park shortly before it gets too hot
The princess outfit to the suermarket sounds lovely better than the pjs that are increasingly becoming the norm
The funeral directors messed up all the December death notices and so none went in the community newspaper which evidently is what most people read these days so Mr Gs notice will be in today - in a way it will be good - so many people didn't know and it is awful when they ask how he is
One of my friends reminded me yesterday we have some very funny but poignant footage of him speaking at both our boys weddings
Round 73 of Sophie is going to be conquered today - there are videos on YouTube of every round - so I am watching each one as I start a round as my concentration is not 100% - I have the pattern on one iPad and the video on another on stands that the old boy made I feel like I am conducting an orchestra - hi tech crocheting
