I reckon you can never have too much wool either

Morning (just)
Have had a nice lazy start to the day catching up on some odd jobs that needed doing and generally pottering around.
I too have a basket full of ironing waiting to be done so now you make me feel guilty Kiwimade lol. Actually probably will do it later as has some knitting in it I want to block before I sew on the buttons. Ironing is something I don't really mind doing as I like the finished results it's just a matter of getting around to doing it.

Knitting is growing nicely am onto the first sleeve. I sure noticed the difference in length of rows from doing newborn things to a five year olds especially as doing fronts and back as one piece and as it is a cross over pattern I ended up with 230 stitches on the needles.

morning ladies :) Well the ironing is still there lol, will do it today. I did manage to move a rose and plant the rescued rose (finally!) though. And I finished a front to the cardy so on a roll now.

lol jayemtoo, I've noticed it too knitting for a baby and a three year old. No doubt as they all grow things will even out. 230 stitches is quite a few stitches!

happy knitting :)

Morning
So enjoy a "potter" day, actually ended up doing more yesterday than if I had planned my day. Got quite a bit of weeding done in the cool of the evening, had a lovely long walk around the park and further, as well as knitting and sorting out emails etc on the now well running computer.
Ummm ironing still sitting looking at me too lol.

Off to factory as soon as have hung out the washing, BiL back tomorrow so want to ensure all good put there. It's rather windy and promising to be hot.

Have a good day

Morning ladies, I had quite a productive day yesterday, did some crochet, then weeded some of the garden, mowed one of the lawns, I didn't bother getting the weedeater out to do the edges, and the second lawn which I had intended to do with the weedeater, was just a few stalks of yellow dandelion flowers, so I just pulled them off by hand, took seconds and the job was done. The grass is just brown from lack of water. I fertilised the grapefruit tree, and then I sat and replaced all the buttons on the dress I picked up at the op shop on Saturday. I discovered it also has a couple of seams which need re-doing so wouldn't have been a bargain at the price which was asked. I also stacked some firewood, put eyes on a rag doll I brought home from the shop (she looked awful with no eyes) and then spent an hour or so sitting on the deck with a friend who called in for a chat.

Went out like a light in the chair after tea, and as a result only slept till 2am once I was in bed, but I managed to get back to sleep and slept till 5.30 then dozed till 8.

Op shop this morning. Looks like being a beautiful day. I will try to do some more gardening this afternoon, and plan to go to the club this evening for the membership draw and snooker practice.

Have a super day everyone.

morning ladies :) Am off to work in dad's garden this morning, it gives us time together too which is great. While I'm doing whatever needs doing, he sits on a garden chair and 'supervises' lol. We solve a lot of the world' problems too :)

I have finished both fronts and joined the shoulder seams. Have started the button hole ribbing, I like to do all that before I start the sleeves. I'm using that cheap Stallion yarn from Spotlight, it's doubleknit but seems a very lightweight doubleknit. Perfect for cables though which hopefully will add a bit more warmth. It crochets up OK too.

Happy knitting :)

Morning
My dad who had bad asthma and would have to watch at times always said "it is a poor job which can't afford a supervisor" . I find myself saying that too when watching someone else working lol.

Off to Wellington this am to help niece pack and clean as they move house on Friday, unfortunately can't stay for the actual move as have visitors arriving Friday but can put in a couple of days.

Knitting packed although not sure when Ill be doing that - would feel lost if didn't have it with me.

Have a good day Everyone

Morning ladies, I had a busy morning at the op shop yesterday, brought home a brand new knitted teddy who has no face, so will embroider some eyes, nose and mouth and return him next week. Just pottered around in the afternoon and then shifted some more firewood once the sun had gone off the pile, then went to the club and played a couple of frames of snooker and received this:

https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/545730424.jpg

and $25 prize money - total surprise. Thought when we lost in the final, that was the end of it. I never expected a certificate and winnings.

Beautiful morning, might go out to the boat and do some work on her and take some photos, so that I can list her for sale. I'm not sure but I think the tide is dropping which will mean that I will have to try to drag the dinghy down the beach a way, and on return (unless I wait till high tide) will have to drag it up the beach. Hope someone comes along to give me a hand, otherwise I will struggle, but I think I have to do it and today looks good.

Tomorrow I plan to go to knit and natter, and Thursday to Whangarei shopping for a new lounge suite and a few other bits.

Last night I started knitting a "bottle holder" - it's called "bishi" on ravelry by Georgie Hallam. If it is successful I might make a few to try to sell on the market.

Have fun everyone. Happy knitting.

Morning everyone
Busy days for everyone, but me lol

If Im deadheading roses or weeding the front garden I always ask MrP to hold the bucket for me. That way he is included and not feeling guilty about not doing much.

The OT lady just rang, they are bring a toilet lifter thing out this morning. I have to pop up the road to get the lawnmowing money but will leave it till after she has been now.

Finally did a bit of stitching and crochet yesterday. This is what Im stitching for the Christmas tree ornament swap at christmas time. This one isnt perfect, Ive added a row both sides to get the star in the middle.

https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/545741610.jpg

And Ive backed it with some felt to hide the multitude of sins on the back.

The lawn looks soo much better. It had knee high dandelions and other daisy's that Ive never seen here before. so muist have travelled in on the lawn mower.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning all - picked up my crochet hook for the first time last night after tremendous help from a lady half way round the world helped me to work out what row I was on - had promised Mr G I would finish a Sophie's garden afghan I started a year or two ago probably - he loved it - but because there are so many half rows and overlay rows and because I am probably not thinking that straight couldn't work out where I was - Row 69-but I will finish it
Saw the lovely side of humanity last night but not so the night before - I parked my car outside my sons house up on the hill - a wide level road but because he and his neighbours are on a sweeping bend everybody parks half on the footpath- recomended by the traffic dept as so many cyclists use the street and it gives them extra room - my 10 year old granddaughter answered the door bell - the neighbour across the road asked to speak to whoever was babysitting - she then proceeded to tell me she had backed her very expensive car into mine and had dinged it a bit - she told me she was late for a meeting and hadn't looked but gave me a piece of paper with her name and phone number to ring her husband that night for their insurance details - I duly called the number that night told him I was the lady whose car his wife had hit and could I have the details of his insurance - well he started he wasn't going to give me his name I was just to go into my insurance company and tell them my car had got whacked - that I didnt see who hit it - when I started to protest he invited me to prove it was his wife all I had was a piece of paper with her name and number - I was flummoxed to say the least - started crying telling him we had never ever had an insurance claim and that MrG had just died but I would get my son to come across and see him -the penny suddenly dropped with him that I was not some random babysitter unfortunate enough to be parked while working at my sons house - then the swine started blaming his wife for telling him I was the babysitter - I might add the wife has a very high profile in her own right and he is a professional person again who you would put in the fine upstanding citizen category but because the thought they had a chance to rip somebody off they took it - my car is a very nice near new car not a battered old bomb - I could have been a cyclist she hit as she sped backwards because she was late for a meeting or my sons very expensive Audi

Ohh Gerry, not something you need right now.

Good on yoou for sticking up for yourself tho.. This how those people get up in the world.
And they dont think their "chit" stinks to be blunt.

Hopefully it will all be sorted out for you. The Insurance company can fight for you now.

I have probably told them that the woman needs driving lessons.

Hope you have a much better day today

morning ladies :) The stuck up cow, Gerry! What a bloody nerve. Some people think trampling over others makes them better than us. Am so glad you had the strength to stick up for yourself. Don't worry about the insurance claim, it's not a 'black mark' against you. This is why you pay your premiums! I used to work for insurance companies and have seen and all sorts of claims and met all sorts of claimants.

I arrived at dad's yesterday to do his garden to find him extremely unwell. His home care lady was waiting for me to arrive (so she was late for her next client) and had called the doctor. Drove dad to the docs and before long I was ambulance chasing to Waikato Hospital. It seems dad had a 'silent' heart attack. So I'll check up on him to day and see what's happening. His heart beat was weird, like having an extra beat but his heart isn't pumping properly. He's on the right place and he should be ok.

I'm still working on the cardy's bands, was knackered when I got home yesterday so didn't do much knitting.

happy knitting :)

So pleased the healthcare lady was there Kiwimade.. Your right he is in the right place. Maybe needs arythmia meds or even pace maker to make sure his heart works like it should.

Take care and try not to worry

Morning all - windy and hot here again -
Scary times with your Dad kiwimade -he is in the best place - I know that is an old cliche but it's so true - yes I was lucky I could stick up for myself and he realised I was able to identify who she was -
Popeye what ever hours they offer you take - I made the mistake of only taking a small portion of the hours offered which I later regretted - plus speak up if the carer is not up to par -
Having problems getting my tension right on my Sophie - think I might dig among my many WIPs and find something simple
Dog wants to go for a walk might take him before I gets too hot

11117

Morning ladies, sorry to hear about your Dad kiwimade, and yes, he is definitely in the right place. Hope he is soon sorted and home again as I know what it's like having to keep trekking back and forth to the hospital.

Gerry, so pleased you stood your ground, what nasty people, it's just added stress that you don't need at the moment, you need to be kind to yourself.

And yes, popeye, take all the help that is offered and don't feel guilty doing it.

I didn't get out to the boat yesterday, the wind was blowing every which way and the tide dropped rapidly, so I would have been there all day and it was so hot that I wouldn't have been able to use the two pot epoxy that I need to use, as it would have "gone off" before I could apply it.

I started scanning photos of the boat so that I can list her on here, but ended up in tears, so gave up on that. Decided I would wash my car instead but a friend called in and we sat out on the deck and chatted for a couple of hours, and then I washed the car after he left.

Fell asleep in the chair after tea and went to bed early. Woke at 12.30 but managed to get back to sleep. Knit and natter this morning, think I'll start a little baby singlet, something easy and "no think". I seem to be having trouble with everything else that I touch.

Have a super day everyone.

Morning
What a worry Kiwimade hope they get your Dad's problem sorted quickly, take care of yourself.
Good on you Gerry, it's not as if the other party is paying themselves but their insurance - except for the excess I suppose and no doubt they could afford it better than you.

What crazy weather we have in NZ - left Napier 8.30am yesterday with temp already 28 by time got to Pahiatua, a couple of hours drive away and still on east coast, it was about 15 and raining then an hour later in the Wairarapa it was back up to 27.
It's supposed to be warm and sunny here in Wellington today but cold and drizzly at present.

Saw niece's new house yesterday, it is a good basic family home, nothing flash and a bit "tired" looking as it has been a rental recently but basically sound and they can out their own stamp on it. Of course they are delighted to have their own place as had almost given up with houses within a reasonable price range virtually impossible to find.
The others have gone to work and crèche so I'm home alone and starting to pack and clean the kitchen. Must admit this is the most organised shift I have ever seen, a day to day list of which room needs to be packed, all boxes well labelled including a system indicating which ones need opening soon as they arrive and those which can wait. Both Niece and husband work for Government departments in organisational roles and it sure shows.
I guess basically organising an Aunt helping packup a house is not that different to organising the Govenor General's visit to an overseas country lol.

Well better get going would hate to slow down the process!
I'm sure I will still have time for coffee and a bit of knitting during the day.

Morning ladies, plan today is to go to Whangarei to see if I can find myself a new lounge suite, and while I'm there I will probably go to Spotlight and the emporium and see what bargains I can pick up. It will be a chance to escape the smell in my kitchen. I think a rat has died either behind the dishwasher (which I can't pull right out unless it's disconnected) or under the floorboards, but the smell is pretty bad. Hope it goes away before too long. Surely in this heat it won't take too long to rot away to nothing.

knitted a pair of baby bootees yesterday for "little sprouts" - they were asking on fb the other day for them as they are short, they have to be pure wool though and most of my stash is acrylic, but I found some little bits of machine washable merino which I used. I have a couple of other pairs which I made a while back and will do another couple over the weekend and send them next week.

My laptop is nearly driving me mad, the "m" doesn't seem to want to work unless I really bash it or else I have to tap it two or three times. Wonder what else will go wrong?

It's a beautiful day today, so I want to get away before it gets too hot. It will be hot driving back regardless of how early I leave, but if I can get there before it's too hot that will be a bonus.

Have a super day everyone.

morning ladies. We had some awesome news last night with my friend's brother and niece being found, it has been such a worrying time for her and her family. An dad is home, his meds were lowering his heart rate so has been changed. A simple fix thank goodness.

Lawns to mow today as we have students arriving Monday and looks like we are in for some rain.

Your niece and her husband sound super organised jaymetoo, I love it! And sounds like they both have awesome jobs too. Isn't it a shame it's getting harder and harder to buy your own home. It shouldn't be hard, it should be something everyone can save a deposit for if that is what they want.

Better get moving, those rain clouds are looming. Hopefully I won't be too early and wake the neighbours.

Happy knitting :)

Glad your dad is sorted kiwimade..Can I assume the brother and daughter were the ones on the boat? I hope he doesnt get in too much trouble.

The meeting with the cleaning boss lady didnt happen yesterday. She rang to say either her cat or child was sick, i didnt catch it, so it will be tomorrow, as I have my cardiology appointment today. and the cleaner Erin will be here in the afternoon tomorrow.

Going to go to Davids Emporium today too, I have a few bits and bobs I need to get. Want to do a price conmparrison on a few things too.

Morning
Man Wellington has grotty weather, it was drizzly and foggy all day yesterday and now it is blowing a gale as well as the drizzle and fog.

Great that your Dad was sorted so quickly Kiwimade. The book art play days sound interesting Sunflower.

Packed up the kitchen and cleaned yesterday and now just have the stove to do and a couple of cupboards and it's finished - that's my job done and I'll head home later this am. Hope the Rimutaka road is open and not too gusty wind-wise.

Have a good day everyone

yes, it was the father and daughter on the boat popeye and I hope he doesn't get into too much trouble as well. He's a dad completely devoted to his daughter and would never put her at risk. His daughter has been on boats all her life and is more than capable. People who knock them back really don't understand the whole story. I feel so sorry for parents who feel they need to go to these extremes to see their children. Hopefully things can be sorted out now.

I have been thinking of you in Wgtn Jayemtoo and you are so right about the grotty weather, I think a lot of the country has wind but it gets so boring.
We even turned on a rumble for you yesterday! You seem to give a lot of help and travelling for your family, pleased th e litter business is growing.
Sunflower, hope medication will soon get your blood pressure to reasonable levels, that can take a bit of trial and error. Buying something like a lounge suite can be frustrating...you have in mind just what you want but no designer has produced it yet. Warning about security window latches. Friend in KERIKERI had hers bashed off while she was in the house at
8.45pm. Cheeky devils.
Nice garden Kiwimade. Popeye I enjoyed seeing the joy on the girls face as she cuddled into the blanket you made. Gerry, I feel sorry for the wife of the man you had words with, not my sort of a guy that's for sure.

Morning all - hot and windy here again today - took Ash to the dog park -have been going later to dodge the walking group mrG used to walk with - bit early today that was hard they didn't know he had passed on - Ash went absolutely berserk running from one to the other - but I figure that is another hurdle I have got over
Yes Marywea as that sod started blaming his wife for misinforming him about who I was I wondered about her
Yes kiwimade it is awful what lengths some men feel they need to go to just to see their children
My younger sister came yesterday to borrow the shower stool etc - her husband is end stage bone cancer - if anybody had of told us 50 years ago that both our husbands would not make 70 we would have scoffed - we are both craft and book readers - the husbands were both active - mmm?
Her daughter has come from 20 deg minus at her home in Canada to 30 deg plus
No crochet or knitting today going to listen to some music

Hi all.

It is sad when ex'es have to go to extreme lenghts. They had a broken Rudder too didnt they? At least they would have had some good amount of time together.
Ex'es can be soo nasty.

Well all went well with the Cardiology, need to lose some weight but my heart is doing fine. all my med levels are working well. It was actually MrPs cardiologist that I saw today so we had a chat about him too.. he must be due to see her too soon, so I got in first.

Went to Davids Emporium. Got everything that was written on the list that was left behind lol... MrP reminded me about sellotape so that was good. Hows this for a bargain, I got two larger than normal Maths books, 16 embroidery cottons, 1 pack of Rivets, 2 of small curtain ring hooks, 1 of wooden peg thingees, 2 of the shelf pins, 3 rolls of sellotape all for $25-50... To buy the shelf pins at mitre10 with the number I need would have cost $23 alone,

Took my cross stitch for a ride, it was too hot to stitch, cos I was fanning myself instead. Didnt have to wait long anyway.

Had yummy fish and chips for lunch from the takeaways in the block that we had a dairy in when i was younger. cheap but yummy.

I have my feet up now and dont intend on moving for a while lol.

Hope yu found a nice lounge suite Kuaka..

Home safely after a successful shopping trip, bought a lounge suite which I like, have to wait for it to be delivered as it's not in stock and I'm paying extra to have it "scotchguarded". I didn't want a leather one 'cos I don't trust puss not to claw it to bits. She will probably mark this one if she claws it but I don't think it will be so bad. She doesn't normally claw the furniture though.

Then went to Spotlight and only bought 3 balls of yarn, some lace and a reel of thread. They had 50g balls of wool/possum/alpaca mixed with something else and it was $15.99 a ball. No thanks.

Then to Arthurs where I bought some fabric and some incense and then New World for groceries and home.

Now I need to vacuum the old lounge suite and try to flick it off on fb.

Meantime, it's feet up time.

morning ladies :) ooohhhha new lounge suite, lovely kuaka. You are getting there making your home your own. Someone will take the old one, especially as the uni students are going back/starting uni soon. Could be used in a flat.

Wow Gerry, your niece must be really feeling the temperature difference. Canada is a damed cold place!

I have almost finished a sleeve, was too hot to knit yesterday. I thought I would do some sewing today, had an idea on how to 'improve' the bag I was sewing. And I have a zip now so can put that in. Been years since I have sewn a zip.

happy knitting :)

Morning
Great you got a little urge suite Kuaka - I'm terrible at making decisions on something like that, I usually have something in mind but never quite sure how it will look when I get it home so spend time dithering about buying it!

Left Wellington in cold, wet and windy weather yesterday and by Waipukurau it was showing 33 on car thermometer, the grass is just yellow everywhere. I walked in dumped my bags and off to do some needed messages and supermarket as knew if I sat down I would not have got up again!

Have visitors arriving this pm for 2 nights - a family of 4 the kids are 10 and 13 so not tiny ones, mother is Indonesian so I'm not quite sure what they eat so keeping things fairly basic.

No knitting yesterday and probably not much today but all good things can wait.

Morning everyone.
A lovely dark wet day, but Man is it hot.. Sweating just sitting eating breakfast lol.

Have the housework boss coming in an hour.. Then im nipping up the road to get a few groceries and get some timber to make the new shelves in the pantries. Im glad I decided to get the little wooden pegs yesterday cos the proper shelf pins are too small for two of the pantries, but the wooden ones fit. And the pins fit in the new pantry, phew. And the piece of MDF Im getting will make 4 shelves so thats even better.

Then Erin will come to do the house work after lunch

Glad you got a nice lounge suite Kuaka, when the enevitable happens here I will be getting rid of soo much stuff. It will be almost minmalistic . Im finding I dont like the cluttered look much now lol.

Well I better rattle me daggs and get sorted.

Have a fab day

Morning ladies, yes kiwimade I'm looking forward to installing the new lounge suite although it will totally alter the look of the family room as it is a 3 seater and two chairs and at the moment I have two x two seaters and one chair so I will have to rearrange things. The chairs are recliners, one swivels as well, and the two ends of the couch recline.

Felt really chuffed as I bought the suite from Harvey Norman and was within budget, but son phoned in the evening and told me that Furniture City in Whangarei is closing down and has some real bargains. Grrrr. Looked on their website and didn't see anything I liked the look of.

Just had a phone call from the chap at the market and I have a spot on Tuesday and Friday of next week. So fingers crossed. Have a couple of things I want to finish between now and then. I just looked at all my ufos yesterday and I really must get stuck in and finish at least some of them.

Overcast today and quite still. Would be perfect to go out to the boat but I'm a bit reluctant as it's Friday 13th. Stupid I know, but that's me. There's another day tomorrow (hopefully) and the tide will be more suitable tomorrow.

Going over to Russell this evening, I've been invited to a friends for tea. I will make a salad and take some capsicums and a lettuce out of the garden. My vegies are going nuts at the moment. I can't eat them quickly enough.

Right, have a super day everyone.

morning ladies :) No wind so far! Now that makes a change. Will put the hose on the garden shortly to make the most of it.

Sounds like you have a keeper for your homehelp popeye, she will make a huge difference.

Housework for me today, our first students for the year arrive Monday. Better make sure their room is organised, dusting and so on. And the Furry One has been on the beds, can see his 'dip' in the duvet where he has been sleeping.

But first I have some old uni text books to list. Hopefully someone will want them, they're taking up space here.

Happy knitting :)

Morning
House full of visitors but still quiet, they were rather late to bed so hope they sleep in as long as they like. Im enjoying a quiet coffee and catch up on here while I can.

Not sure what they want to do today, the only thing the kids want to do while here is go to Splash Planet, think we will do that tomorrow.

No knitting again yesterday Im starting to miss it so will have to find a few minutes later before I of into complete withdrawal lol.

Have a good day everyone

Morning ladies, well yesterday evening was lovely, my friend had gone to a lot of trouble setting the table, preparing and cooking a beautiful meal, the two young ladies were delightful, one of them said Grace before we started, and the other said Grace afterwards. We chatted for a while and then the girls did most of the dishes, and then left, giving me a booklet to read entitled "the plan for salvation". Hmmmmm. My friend and I did the rest of the dishes then went for a walk along the beach and I came back on the last ferry. I have an invitation to his 80th birthday in April. Undecided on that.

Working at the op shop this morning, and waiting to hear if there are enough of us available to play mah jong at the club this afternoon. If so, I will walk from the op shop to the club and get something from the bakery for lunch, and then walk home afterwards. Otherwise I guess I will come home and try to list some stuff for sale, including the boat.

Looks like it would be a perfect day to go to the boat, so fingers crossed it will be the same tomorrow.

I will try to find time to knit or crochet at some stage.

Have a super day everyone.

Morning all bit cooler today I hope - I didn't turn the sprinkler off at the tap last night - turned it off at the sprinkler only and the damn thing blew off during the night -can't see over the fence but have a feeling I have flooded the neighbours !thank goodness we don't have water meters
My nephew who is embarking on a well needed weight loss program mentioned the other day he was going to buy a bike - out of my mouth before I really thought about it popped an offer for him to have MrGs bike - I know my old boy would approve but seeing it go out the drive on my nephews vehicle was very bittersweet -
Pulled my sewing machine out of the depths under the stairs yesterday to mend a sun dress I have had for umpteen years - was a very roomy tent dress type now is very close to tight fit as I steadily grew around the middle - but absolutely love the fabric -might be its last summer fabric is definitely wearing out
The car saga continues - State tried to tell me I had to pay th $400 excess - when I argued he checked his files and surprise surprise I didn't! It's going to be in the panel shop a few days so will use one of my sons work vehicle - its bright yellow with black signwriting all over it so silly women shouldn't back into me
Have offered to help a friend sort out Peggy squares her mum knitted in her later years so think we might tackle that today -

Morning everyone

Yesterday housework was funny as.. Some idiot putting in the fibre cables dug up the water, so Erin couldnt wash anything lol, so she vaccummed and we talked alot. Will be better this coming week.. but we sure wont forget her first day lol.

MrP bless him decided he would help carry the groceries in and trip up the one step we have. he fell flat on his face. didnt hurt his face but his knee looks like its toasted, the lines from the mat are imbedded on his knees. hes very sore this morning, as I expected him to be. hes using his walker, which is something he doesnt usually use indoors. Just his stick. hes sitting here laughing at Tv so thats good.

I got my shelves for the pantries, so might have a go at them today, but sadly my pain aint to flash today either lol... What a right pair we are. lol

I havent done any crochet etc for a couple of days either, and I am missing it. So will do some later so I can rest my hips etc

Have a fab all

morning ladies :) omg Gerry lol, I've done things like that too, luckily water can drain away outside.

Our students arrive tomorrow afternoon so today I'm going to blob for a bit. I should get this sleeve finished, didn't touch it yesterday. Can't seem to find my mojo at the moment with it. Maybe it was all the unpicking and I'm just fed up with it.

happy knitting :)

Morning
You certainly need to be on the ball the whole time when dealing with insurance things - good that you are sorting it Gerry.
Poor Mr P hope his knee heals fast.
Had lovely day yesterday showing visitors around Napier and factory. The kids went for a swim in the sea at Pandora pond and then we Had kebabs on Marine parade and walked along it in cool of evening sure is a beautiful place.
Going to Splash Planet today will take a picnic and wear everyone out lol. Hope it's not too busy there as it's supposed to be another hot day.

Monring everyone
Soooo hot this morning, but at least its not sunny to add to it.
MrP's legs are still quite puffy, but hes walking a bit better this morning.

Im the same Kiwimade, I just cant be bothered having anything in my hands.

I covered my shelves with the large plastic bags I got, far to large to store wool in lol. And have one pantry sorted. will get in the other two today, but I must take the big fan in there.

We have had a rethink on how we are going to put new seats on some outside chairs, so off to the Junktion this morning with our fingers crossed for what we want still being there.

Its fun site seeing in your own back yard, we tend to take where we live for granted.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning - cooler today but the wind has returned - was a lovely evening along the parade last night for sure Jayemtoo - I went to Perfume Point to witness a huge argument between some local rock fishermen and camper van owners who had decided to park across four of five parks leaving no parking for the public - others had backed their vans in using one park only - it started to turn very ugly so I left but I did see the fishermens point
Might make some apricot jam today - last year MrG made jam with the grandkids so he had been saving jars all year for a repeat -the crochet hook is being sorely neglected

Morning ladies, overcast here and not as hot as yesterday, the wind is just starting so another day I won't be rowing out to the boat.

Today I plan to shift some firewood, maybe pull a few weeds and do some knitting, apart from having a bit of a tidy up. Not very exciting.

Better start with breakfast before it's lunchtime.

Have a super day everyone.

Morning Ladies Wind is up here and the sun left for the day. Yesterday spend lot of our time cleaning under the grape vine and covering it with netting. We got about half way down the vine.Yes, Mr S came out and helped me. Need to go out and rake up the cuttings and weeds. Mr S is feeling somewhat sore today so a quilt day for him.

Did a quick shop at the s/market,came out and Mr S asked what would I like for tea. Went down to Perfume Point too busy and full of Camper Vans counted 15 and one using 4 spaces. Yes Gerry the council will have step in and sort this out.
We ended up going over to Westshore and sat and ate our fish and chips where it was lovely and peaceful.

Hope Mr P is feeling a little better. He has a good nurse looking after him. Popeye.

Lounge Suite sounds lovely Kuaka. You will have your home looking how you want it. I can recall my mother doing the same after my father passed away.

Not sure what we will end up doing today other than Mr S resting. I will get in and catch up on some jobs inside while its cooler.

Yes, Gerry and Jayemtoo we do live in a lovely part of the country and long may it stay that way.

Have a great day everyone.

morning ladies :) Our students arrive today so a quick once over with the vacuum and bathroom before I pick up a leg of lamb from the butcher. Will put the car through the car wash too and use the big vacuum the car wash people have to vacuum the car. Saves using mine and dragging it outside, digging out the extension cord and in general a lot of fuss.

I finished the sleeves of the cardy, will sew it all together this afternoon, better rummage through my buttons and see if I have any to match.

happy knitting :)

Morning ladies, we had some lovely rain last night, don't think it really lasted long enough to do much good for the garden though. I heard that we have a sprinkler ban starting today, no sprinklers or unattended hoses, threat of a fine up to $20,000 - I guess that's a good incentive to stand and hold the hose.

Op shop this morning, then the afternoon is mine and then club for an hour or so, try to have a couple of frames of snooker and be present for the membership draw. Then come home and get ready for tomorrow's market.

Kiwimade, if your button collection is anything like mine, it won't matter what you need, you'll have the right colour but the wrong size or there won't be enough of them.

Have a super day everyone.

Its taking longer and longer to dress MrP's legs. Ill try and get him an appointment with our dr.

Spent all afternoon back in the office yesterday doing the shelves and sorting wool.. Have it pretty much how I want it.. Just a bit sorting in the drawers. Then to add the 22 that are still to arrive. Sewed the ends in on 8 more squares. Im just over quarter on the secoond blanket now.

Have to pop up the road to get a top up for MrP's phone.. Then Im having a quiet day.

Your right re the buttons Kuaka, you never have the ones you want lol.

Morning all - another warm one here with plenty of wind again - the washing was dry just about as soon as it hit the line- just been to the dog park - made sure the little sod stayed out of the mud today -yesterday was an absolute disaster he rolled in it and then wouldn't come to me and get it washed off - th council have installed a dog shower right by the mud puddle - ended up having to make a lead out of an old oxygen tube and then drag him to the shower - he is a little staffi and when his legs are not working he is blimmin heavy
Better get the rubbish bag out - my son brought me home a supermarket trolley and as we have a very long drive it's brilliant -
Did one whole round of my Sophie yesterday -

Sophie's universe kiwimade - have two on the go - one wool and one cotton
The cotton one is way ahead of the wool one not sure why - put them away when MrG got sick because I needed to count and he always seemed to speak as I got to 108 of the required 110 single crochet and I would have to start again!
