i would like to make a jeans raggie quilt to, im going to sew tonite to catch up on all the sewing i missed out today,my sister,me and our mum are going to mount maunganui for the day,for coffee, lunch and walk on the beach, a girls day out, it means a day away from sewing but will make up for it at night, its been awhlie since i have been away for the day lol
its funny how the page gets filled up but sometimes we hardly do any post at all,

hi you guys i had a lovely day today we had this really yummy lunch in cafe at the sea front at mount maunganui. then a walk on the board walk the sand was a bit hard for my mum and sister (there artificial knee joints lol)then some window shopping, then ice cream yumyum.then home,
sounds like everyone had a not to good day.

Cindydog im ok i just couldnt get going, chocky boy came late this morning and 'helped' me pin the quilt together lol yup not a good idea but i wasnt expecting him and it was all spread out on the floor.
Jules came this arvo she always makes me laugh shes always got really funny stories hehe does me good :)
No 3 daughter cooked tea and hubby washed dishes so im going to sew again now. No 2 daughter gone to stadium to watch phoenix play in welly.... eeek be cold there....

Yes Twilight sewing is fun :) i am really enjoying it. You summed up the sewing bug perfect above hehe lol.
I have had to make this raggie quilt different to avoid buying more fabric lol (too expensive hehe ) but because the colour goes from light to dark i couldnt put a backing on as a raggie coming through, it would of ruined the colour effect.
So am making it as atraditional quilt but raggie - just 1 layer of fabric - for the top, then will put full batting and backing. Will hold them together by sewing the crosses in each square of the raggie squares. That will work .......

I have some dark blue so will use that up. Have just this sec finished front whew. Ok off up stairs (great exercise hehe ) to get batting and backing now and will get it pinned before bedtime :)

Arghh did i mention the stairs are great exercise lol brought batting and dark blue down, dark blue not big enough! back up stairs got some cream fabric its big enough went to cut it hehe scissors upstairs - going up again lol
