Our street normally has Santa arrive on the fire engine for an hour or so on Christmas morning for the kids present giving. Only I dont know if it will happen this year. Cos Santa died early this year.

Going to do a bit more tidying up in the office etc today. yesterday I felt like I had bags of cememnt hanging off my hips. My legs didnt really want to work.. Was very strange.

Im just over half way on the squares now. Thank goodness. it seems to have taken ages to get this far.

morning ladies :) I'm off to do dad's garden, his tomatoes need the laterals removed and beans need tying. And I need to find a batman suit for Maddy, she's into batman and tea parties at the moment and it could all be at the same time lol. I also need to replace the pink teddy bear the Furry One helped himself too so I can give it to my great niece this weekend. Then it is son's pressie (once he tells me what he wants) and the shopping is done for Christmas.

I taught myself to crochet cable last night - our daughter inspired me and it's surprisingly easy.

Morning everyone.

Kiwimade try the cheappie asian shops they often have good ranges of dress up costumes.
Maddy sounds level headed and open to trends without any gender bias.

Lovely when you have a busy day and you get a good sleep out of it.

I worked most of the day yesterday delving into the wardobe in the spare room. Havent found the curtains yet, but I think I know where they might be.
Did find a pair of pictures I got a few years ago, but had put away when I put the christmas decorations out. They are of geese flying over a river scene.
I have a pile of empty boxex on the chair next to me to fold down. Sorted all my plastic bags last night. so theres not alot left to do. And I dressed my table and have a few more ornaments to put out and the decorations are finished.
So today will get it all done and dusted.. Yay.

Morning ladies, I decided that this morning I would go out to the boat as there was no wind (it's just starting now) and although the tide was full and about to start dropping, I really needed to go and run the motor to charge the batteries. However, as I had trouble starting the old bitch last time and didn't run the motor really long enough to fully charge the battery I thought I would take the battery booster with me, and it was all charged up - or at least it was last week, or maybe it was the week before when I charged it, but I tested it and it needed charging, so the boat is now on hold till the battery booster is charged. Grrrr. If it charges enough by tomorrow I'll go early in the morning if conditions are right, and I can still go to knit and natter. If not, Thursday or Friday.

So instead I will finish staining the deck.

Yesterday afternoon I mowed the lawns, and used the weedeater on the top scruffy patch which I jokingly call lawn, and did the edges of the driveway, then I had a snooker practice at home then I went to the club for the membership draw which I didn't win - not sure if it was won or not - and played four frames of snooker. My sister phoned after tea, and then I fell asleep in the chair and woke with a stiff neck.

So no knitting yesterday. I will try to get some done before lunch if I get the deck finished in time.

morning ladies :) We were supposed to be going to Tauranga today but MrK's friend has asked him to help him all day today so Tauranga can wait for another day.

So I'll mow the lawn and then after my shower, begin sewing Christmas stockings. Spotlight have some very pretty Christmas fabric so I bought some yesterday. I'll start with the grandies stockings as the 'kids' already have some old ones we can use. And I'll embroider names on them. Have even found a pattern for a small stocking for the Furry One lol.

So that should keep me out of mischief for a while.

Morning ladies, it's a very grey overcast day so far, and not very tropical, hope it warms up later. I contemplated the boat again but looked at the forecast and it sounds as though tomorrow will be a better day - 10 knot westerly today turning 15 knot northerly, but tomorrow only 5 knot variable - chance of a shower tomorrow but I'll try my best to miss them.

So a tidy up indoors this morning then go to knit and natter. I think it's this coming weekend that my son is bringing his girlfriend to meet me - this is his first serious relationship in 18 years, so fingers crossed he has finally met the right one. It's about time he found someone to share his life with.

I didn't get all the deck stained yesterday and noticed there are some of the upright bits between the steps that I forgot to clean, so will maybe clean them this afternoon and then finish the staining another day once everything is clean and dry. Course I have spinach which has gone to seed and is now about as tall as me and that needs to be pulled out and the ground prepared for dwarf beans as well as the lettuce and spinach plants that I bought last week which need to be planted.

I don't think I will ever run out of things to do. A couple I know have just put their house on the market and are planning on going into a retirement village. Don't know what others think of them, but it doesn't appeal to me one little bit.

Retirement villages don't appeal to me either Kuaka. Had an Aunt who moved into one and then complained that she didn't see any one all day. Those active enough to go out got into their cars and went and the rest seemed too fragile to go out their doors. At least in the community I have all ages passing my place and I like pottering around my own section.

Need to go to town sometime soon as yesterday noticed washing line almost rusted through so needs replacing, fortunately it is a long one rather than a rotary so not too difficult to replace. Also shower hose getting fragile so better change that too before it actually breaks and I'm left

Our new Pak nSave opened yesterday, looked in on way home from Mainly Music - it was mayhem with very long lines at check outs. There were some good bargains so went back 6.30pm it was still busyish but manageable so I got what I wanted although took a bit of looking for things, won't take long to get to know way around it although it is bigger than the old one.

Look after your Ankle Kiwimade. Love thel idea of stockings for the grandies. a real heirloom in time.

I reckon there should be retirement villages for younger people. Where you can live without having to worry about paying bills. someone else does the cooking and cleaning. With commune areas etc. I know it would suit me.. and i know a brother and sister it would suit too.

I have to admit Jayemtoo I dont like going into "other" supermarkets cos it really unsettles me if I dont know the layout.
When our new New World opened thankfully it was laid out pretty much the same as the old one was.

I have a load of washing to fold.,And some ends to sew in on some squares.
I also have a large cushion to strip. Its the foam I want to a cushion on MrPs wheelchair. But its covered is the stuff like pillows and duvets , So I need to strip that off. and then figure out the easiest way to cut it down.
If i cant find an easy way to do it. I might ring an upholsterer and see if they would do it for me.
Then Ill make a cover for it. Its nice and thick so will lift him a little.

morning ladies :) I have sewn two Christmas stockings and have five more cut out and interfacing on ready for sewing. I need to find some doggy-Christmas themed fabric to make the Furry One a stocking as well. He needs new tug ropes around this time of the year so we put them under the tree.

Morning everyone.
We always have presents under the tree for our babies to Kiwimade.

I looked yesterday for the musical toy and our stockings but didnt find them. So now I dont have a clue.
ordered my pantry yesterday, will go in and pay for it this morning. then they will deliver it when its made up. Ill ask them to leave it till next week, to give me time to move the big bookcase and move the other pantry along. A friend will help me move it tho, thank goodness cos they are really heavy. And will mean MrP wont try and move it.

Shopping this morning and a pile of cards and ornament swaps to post this morning.

December already for goodness sake.. the year has gone sooo fast.

Morning ladies, I'm just back from a successful trip out to the boat, successful in as much as I got out there and back safely and the motor started first turn of the key BUT the birds had been back and built a nest on one of the sails which is stowed in the forward cabin. There was no sign of the birds but there were two eggs there - not any more sorry birdies, they went overboard. I feel like a murderer, but you should see the mess, bird poop from one end of the boat to the other, all over the radar, gps, depth sounder, fuse board, on the lamps, table, carpet, squabs, walls, steps, there was nowhere that they hadn't been. I've blocked the dorades (wind scoops - think that's how they got in) so hopefully they won't get in again.

So now I'm just having a coffee, then I'll shower and nip to town and see if I can get a haircut, then I think I deserve a relaxing afternoon seeing as I was really busy in the garden yesterday afternoon, pulled out my spinach and silverbeet, dug the ground over, fertilised it and watered it in, then sowed a packet of dwarf beans and planted more spinach and lettuce. Phew! Fingers crossed they all grow.

Yes, hard to believe it's December. Where has the year gone?

morning ladies :) Housework for me today and I'll start making a quinoa salad for tomorrow's family pre-Christmas lunch. MrK says he doesn't like quinoa but little does he know he has been eating it for yonks in casseroles lol.

Then if the weather plays nice I have the rest of the camellia shrub trimmings to cut up and bin.

I have embroidered everyone's names on the Christmas stockings so all set for sewing up. Shouldn't take long to do.

Morning everyone
Lol at the Quinoa Kiwimade. My darling stepfather didnt like cooked cheese, but he loved my bacon and egg pie which always had grated cheese on the bottom, to stop it from having a soggy bottom. Was probably the only lie by omission I kept from him

I found a burst of strength and energy yesterday and emptied and moved the big book case and moved the pantry over as well.. So other than vacuuming it this morning, its al ready for the new pantry. So I rang them up and asked if it could come today rather than next week. So it will be here after 10am. Yay. Hopefully Ill have a nearly clear sewing table.. Yay.

Didnt do any crochet last night. but will be back to it tonight Im sure.

While the car is out so getting the pantry in will be easy Ill nip up the road and get some more black yarn for the blanket.

Im going to shout myself a wool order for christmas, Will see who has the better deal .

Morning ladies, I'm going to have a "take it easy" day today seeing as I seem to have been busy all week.

Going to knit and natter this morning and then just potter round at home, I have my son and his new girlfriend visiting this weekend, so I have to do some tidying up to make a good impression on the girlfriend - his first serious one in 18 years - and this is our first meeting.

Had to smile at the quinoa too kiwimade - reminded me of when I was first married and my first husband used to tell me that he didn't know what I did wrong but I couldn't make stew as good as his mum. One day I called round to see her and she gave me a pot of stew she'd made, as she'd made far too much. We had it for tea that night and still he complained that mine wasn't as good as his mothers so I told him to get on the phone and tell her. He never complained about my stew again.

It is looking like a fabulous day, not a cloud in the sky, hardly any wind, it should be a scorcher. My little plants aren't going to like it.

I'd like to shout myself a wool order for Christmas but with the stash I already have, I daren't - might look at a new printer instead, as mine doesn't want to scan since I upgraded to windows 10.

I've finally been able to pick my roses for the Christmas wreath and they are hanging to dry in the two spare bedroom wardrobes. If this doesn't work, then at least the wardrobes will smell divine! According to the website I visited about drying roses I need a dark place where air can circulate. if the worst happens, we'll just have fresh roses like last year.

Kettle has boiled, will have a cuppa, then vacuum before cutting up the camellia trimmings. MrK is out for the day again so I can get things done 'my' way.

Morning ladies, another beautiful day here in paradise.

Have a busy morning, as I need to vacuum and flick the duster round then nip to town for some potatoes. No idea what time my son and his lady are arriving today, but I want to be ready and relaxed when they get here. I still have to finish the lining for the curtain that he asked me for about 3 months ago. Nothing like leaving it till the last minute!

I hope he remembers to bring tap washers with him to put on my laundry taps - I sent him a text yesterday to remind him but he's a bit slack with that sort of thing. I still love him though.

Right, let the housework begin. Groan.

Been knitting baby singlets they look so small but the pattern says to 3 months so hope they fit a newborn ok, if not they will be for a prem.

Well I am not sure if I am meant to have a Birthday.My mother said I was a good baby till I started climbing out of my cot and broke my collar bone, then I was handful. Perhaps having two older brothers did not help.

Mike had planned to take me out for lunch and friends where coming around for drinks and dinner
Never got to lunch, Mike was over 2 hours at .his appointment and it hosed down that evening.So fingers crossed for tonight.

Yesterday I gave my self a great Birthday gift. Went into Pak'n'Save for do a shop,came out spoke to Hubby and next thing I was flat out on the ground,face down. I remembered say to Hubby I had broken my
nose as I could feel it. Luck would have it the local A + E was a few mins away..No bones broken just very sore and feeling sorry for myself.
Have to have an x-ray today.
Yes I am still having my friends around tonight.

Can you tell me, do you do any good when boats are in at the market? Kuaku. Our Council will not a allow anyone to run a market when the ships come in.. They are bused into the city from the port to outside of the i-site and a large green area in front of the Sound Shell. They go on tours around the area,some go shopping in main shopping area.

Ouchies sunflower, hope your not in too much pain. And I hope your day is much better.
Also eagerly awaiting to see how the roses go.

I was given some Huge lemon soaps and I have put them around the wardrobes, in bins of wool and in the linen cupboard. I find lemon and orange lift your moods. Invigorating.

Have booked a quiet day of crochet today. Have done alot in the office and just want to crochet really, this blanket has taken too long.

MrP has warned me hes got a short temper today.. Just feels that it wouldnt take much to set him off. so Ill mind my P's and Q's . hes never warned me before so thats a good thing lol.

Morning ladies, well they arrived just as I was going downstairs to the sewing room, so the curtain is still waiting. I will do it before they leave. We had an awesome afternoon yesterday, we went further up the coast to a lovely isolated bay I'd never been to before, and went fishing. Before we could do that, son had to take one of the seats and a seatbelt out of my old safari and put it in his so I didn't have to sit on the floor! He uses one of those torpedoes to fish with and it takes a long line with 25 hooks out into the water. Never seen him do it before (seen it on tv) it seems like a lot of faffing around but it's quite successful and we came home with a nice feed of fish.

We were very late to bed, and sadly they leave today because they both have work tomorrow. His girlfriend is lovely and I haven't seen him looking so happy in years, so that makes me happy. I'm sure they will come again soon, this was his first visit since Mr Ks funeral.

I suppose I should get up but as I didn't get to bed till after 3 this morning I'm feeling a bit lazy.

Yesterday I had a totally relaxing day, not doing anything. lol.

I suspect today will be similar. Although we will go up to our recycling centre shop and see what they have. Have to get a few things from NW and that will be about it.
Id really like to go over to Pukekohe to have a look at the warehouse etc, but I know id just spend money for the sake of it. So I will put it off for now.

Very little wind today so I think it will get quite warm today.

Managed to get bulk of garden finished yesterday and a pile of green stuff to the dump. Nice feeling of accomplishment, canrestart filling the bins again I suppose.

Off soon to get some stone fruit, apricots, nectarines and peaches straight from the orchard - I love this time of year and usually eat far too many but they are around for such a short time so make the most of it.

Good Morning Everyone . Well the x-rays did not show any broken bones. So that was good. Have to see my own Dr Monday sometime.Thanks for your kind messages.
While out a couple of my friends came in run cleaner over my floors and a tidy up for me.
Hubby took me out about 3 yesterday for coffee and I went off for a good walk.Came home around 5 and everyone had arrived and set up the bar-a que,tables,chairs,food and drink stations.lights etc. Ended up about 20-25. Well after one before we got to bed.
Not long up this morning and could smell food cooking,the cleaning gang had arrived and where cooking breakfast.

The party was a combine party for Hubby b/day 15 Dec and everyone else who had/has Birthday late Nov early Dec. A lot of our friends have b'days at this time of year as well.

Evening ladies, well my son and his girlfriend have left - she didn't want to go and said they will be back again soon, so finger's crossed. Puss is pleased to see the back of them as he brought his big dog with him. Puss spent most of her time slinking around on her belly or high-tailing it into the bush where she thought she would be safe.

I now know how to put a new washer in a tap, my son did one and I watched, and then he watched as I did the second one - none too soon by the looks of the washer that came out:

So feeling rather chuffed that I can do this simple task and won't need to call on a plumber or friend next time one needs doing.

morning ladies :) well done on the washer kuaka, I love learning how to do that kind of stuff. Poor puss, she wouldn't have like the dog at all.

It's going to be a garden day for me today and/or wash the outside of the house down. I think the paint is still too 'new' for a water blaster so will use a bucket of soapy water and the hose. Doesn't take long to do.

MrK is off to begin the rebuild of a truck engine today, he's been looking forward to this for a while and says it will take months to do. So I guess I am going to have some MrK-free days.

I need to finish sewing the Christmas stockings too so will put a day aside for that. And more students arrive this weekend. So things are becoming a tad busy.

Had a lovely F n C dinner at the beach last evening, we like to do this occasionally in summer and this was the first for this summer even though it clouded over and turned quite cool we still enjoyed it and the sea was beautiful.

Morning ladies, another stunning morning here in paradise.

I put the sprinkler on the garden last night when my friend arrived and said to him "remind me to go and move it in a while" - well of course he didn't, and when he left some 3 hours later, I suddenly remembered the sprinkler was on, so turned it off. One patch of the veg garden has had a really good soaking, the rest is still in need of a drink and now the sun is on it. Have to do it this evening.

Better get a move on, op shop this morning and when I come home I guess I had better give the old Safari a clean, (hate that job, it's so flipping big and high) as it's filthy and has to go for a WOF tomorrow morning. Then the club for the membership draw, which will be back to $100 tonight as somebody won the $1000 last week - and it wasn't me. Never mind, $100 is okay for nothing.

Need to do some washing and get it out before I go, no time to knit this morning, I'll have to try to do some this evening.

Morning everyone

Awesome re the washer Kuaka.. Us gals can do anything. MrP loves to show me how to do things. Cos he wont be around for ever. Mind you being that its not our house, I wont have to worry too much.

Was talking to our landlord yesterday. next door had rubbish piled up on the new porch, the dogs had been into the bags, as well as having one hell of a mess with the last lawn mow. They have been there nearly 5 months and only mowed the lawn 3 times. And the last was without the catcher.
So they will be getting a shake up, as well as the property manager.

What we didnt know tho was that they had a fire in the hall way. Im not sure how bad, but it was new carpet and paint in there. Apparently a heater caught fire..
Our landlords wife has moved back to Aussie, shes very unsettled at the mo. So their daughter is in charge again.
Poor things they have had soo much trouble with that unit.

Im into the garage this morning, I have a large set of shelves MrP made a few years ago, that I can put on the back wall for the containers of nails screws etc. It will be much better for MrP to find things. then once thats out of my craft room I can finish off in there too. I want to be out of the shed by lunchtime before it becomes an oven.

I've come in from the garden as both wheelie bins are full and I'm sneezing like crazy. Hay has been cut across the road. And the hose is on the garden, need to move it shortly. Can't believe how dry the ground is, blimmen wind.

How gutting for your landlord to have tenants that don't seem to give a dam. Hopefully the hard word will make things improve, popeye.

Will finish this cuppa then decide what to do. MrK is out until this afternoon so I might just get the house washed down. Means the garden watering will have to wait for a bit.

Morning ladies, I was absolutely knackered last night. I cleaned the Safari yesterday afternoon as it was filthy and has to go for a WOF this morning, and sat in the chair afterwards and nearly dozed off. I almost couldn't be bothered going to the club, but I made the effort - had two frames of snooker and I didn't pot one single ball - but I was playing with 3 men who are all much better players than me so I didn't get to the table very much.

Have to play in the final of the drawn pairs tournament next Monday so must practise this week. Will try to squeeze some in when I come back from getting the WOF, and spend as much time as I can practising because I really would like to get my name on the board - Mr K has his name on the board 13 or 14 times. Just once would be fine with me.

Snapper and chips for tea last night with salad out of the garden, same again tonight. It was delicious.

Well I must get on, breakfast, shower and then if I have time, I will do a few rows of knitting before going out. The housework can wait till another day.

I have finished all my moving things around and tidying in the craft room and garage. And it looks and feels much better.
So I had a nice afternoon yesterday just crocheting.. It was good.

I have done 93 squares, 51 to go. And now that I only have normal housework to do, that shouldnt take long. I might just get it done before christmas if im lucky.

Its overcast today, and quite muggy.

I am feeling quite good mentally going into summer this year. the Meds must be working, and I havent got the thermometer in view so i think that helps too.

Right time for a look around and then onto my hook.

lol so much for my plans for the day. MrK wanted one trip into town (would have been soooo much easier if I went, got my antihistamines, then he had the car for the day but noooooo...). Anyhoo, was waiting for him (and getting pretty peeved as I could have been in the garden) when phone went, can I teach, it's an emergency. So ended up in the classroom anyway.

Time for a cold beer. Am over today.

Morning ladies, looks like the start of another stunning day unless I look over my right shoulder at the encroaching dark clouds, so I will ignore them and look at my sea view instead.

I read until the early hours of the morning and then woke at 6.30, thought "I'll just have five more minutes" and didn't wake again till 8.15. Oops.

Knit and natter this morning, I decided not to go to the "bunny club lunch" today as I'm going to the Op Shop Fashion Show tonight, and it would have felt as though I was out all day. Plus I have a chicken to cook for tonights tea (which I got out of the freezer to cook at the weekend in case we didn't catch fish) and I don't want to waste it and wouldn't feel like a normal tea if I go out for lunch. As it is I will be eating it for days. Also there's a market tomorrow and I need to get organised for that.

Oh dear, looks like my stunning day is rapidly disappearing. Never mind. Not much I can do about it.

Have to find something "no think" to take with me this morning.

morning ladies :) It was an early start for me this morning, out in the garden at 7.00am. Your dark clouds are meant to head our way kuaka so I want to get things done outside as much as possible. I haven't been able to spray the roses for a while and looks like they will have to put up with the blackspot for a bit longer thanks to the wind. I have de-headed and picked off the worst leaves.

I need to finish these Christmas stockings so must put the time aside to do that. Maybe when it rains this week.

Time for a quick cuppa then back out to finish the weeding.

Busy start to the day Kiwimade. You seem to well fill your days at the moment Kuaka.
It was so hot yesterday pm that I just blobbed out when I got home - did manage a bit of knitting but more time reading.

Have done some housework, made a couple of sammies for lunch and now to pick up BiL and out to the factory, he is having fun "inventing" a new machine for moving the fibre I doubt how well it will work but it keeps him happy. It will be a short day if it gets as hot as yesterday, at least we can please ourselves as to how long we potter around out there.

Morning everyone.

What a stinker of a nice temp wise. Have had the fan on for a few weeks, but also have the wet flannel there now too. And its still hot this morning.. There is a breeze on the back wall which is unusual.

Have to pop up the road. Monday night we both dreamnt we won powerball. And helped mrp's nephew. It was really weird.. and we never buy lotto, and have never brought powerball lol. So we are getting a ticket today.
Its a right pain , for some reason our gull petrol station machines wont accept my eftpos card from one bank, but will from the other. So Ihave to go move money from one bank to another if we want cheap petrol.

I did 4 squares yesterday, still have to sew the ends in.

YAY our meat will be here this week or next at the latest.. I can taste those chops already lol.

can you not transfer the money over by internet banking popeye? I do it that way, with Kiwibank it is there within an hour and BNZ overnight.

Gardens done, lawn mowed (and I got rained on lol) so sitting here catching my breath. Too two antihistamines today but they only seem to last a few hours.

I'll have a shower then decide what to do next.

morning ladies :) My head feels like it is stuffed with cotton wool thanks to allergies so will have another round with antihistamines today. It's raining so I may get away with taking just one tablet.

Am pleased I mowed the lawn yesterday afternoon and finished the garden though. Was pretty knackered by the evening lol.

Today I'll sew the rest of the Christmas stockings, they are all cut out good to go. Then any mess can be vacumed up when I do housework tomorrow.

Light drizzly rain at the moment which suits me today.
Have a longish list to get from supermarket then hopefully can get into kitchen have a few ideas I'd like to try to make for presents. Haven't made my usual supply of Christmas cakes yet so perhaps will make a start on them also.
Only a little bit of knitting yesterday so hopefully more today.

Wet here, has rained most of the night.

Sadly Kiwimade, to transfer from TSB to Kiwibank takes days. Its the one blemish with TSB, They dont have instant transfers.. which is why i have kiwibank, especially for TM.

We are going to Pukekohe today. simply just to do some shopping. Which doesnt happen much, usually combined with a hospital visit lol. but we need things you cant get here. And now we have the wheelchair we can window shop.... And boy am I glad I put it in the car before it rained yesterday.
Have done 97 squares now... getting there Very slowly.

I did my christmas present wool order yesterday. 52 balls of acrylic for $114... I will have to be creative with trying to pack it in somewhere lol. I will also get some off here. the rainbow colours I got before. They are just soo pretty that I want to get some more.
