Morning ladies, a quick msg this morning as I'm off to Whangarei for the day with a friend, shopping and I have a medical appointment this afternoon. Picking up a new lawnmower from mitre 10. I phoned the other day and a lady in customer service (obviously English wasn't her native tongue) said I'll put you through to kitchens when I asked if they had any electric lawn mowers in stock. Thick fog has rolled in since I've been up, I hope it's not foggy all the way down there, I hate driving in fog. Better get moving, have a super day everyone. kuaka - 2016-10-20 07:55:00
morning ladies :) safe travels kuaka :) Thanks for the info nanasee1, might be us travelling next year all going to plan so handy to know. We visited our daughter and her wee family yesterday and had lots of cuddles. Our granddaughter knows when our grandson is fussing and needs feeding and runs up to daughter to tell her. Not that he fusses much lol, he slept and slept and slept. Even when the midwife undressed him and weighed him he slept. He is just so chilled out, which makes a chilled out mum and in turn a chilled out family. So much better this time round for our daughter mentally and physically. I'm off to weed dad's garden in spite of the rain this morning. Want to prepare the ground for him so he can at least plant his tomatoes this weekend. Labour Weekend is traditionally the weekend he plants them. So better get organised with the gardening tools. happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2016-10-20 08:12:00
Morning Not sure about a kitchen mower Kuaka. It's so nice out at the moment I'm planning an outside day once I get going. Have a good day Everyone jayemtoo - 2016-10-20 08:28:00
Morning everyone Shopping this morning. And I better do my INR while Im up there. Glad Michael is a chilled out baby, makes things run smoother. Gardens didnt get sprayed yesterday. Maybe later. Blanket is coming along.. Im happy if I do one colour block at least a day. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2016-10-20 09:05:00
morning ladies :) I managed to crochet half a row last evening before falling asleep on the couch lol. Oh well, I was tired. I'm back into dad's garden this morning and should finish it by lunchtime. Loved working in the rain even if dad did think I was mad. Another garden of ours needs digging over now the weeds and plants in it are dead from my spraying. Will decide what to plant once the ground is all prepared. I'm thinking blue and white salvias, the tall ones. Hopefully I can relax a bit this afternoon with my crochet. happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2016-10-21 07:56:00
Morning Had a great day yesterday, a lot of walking into town in the morning when it was sunny, then a good clean of all the house in the pm when it rained and couldn't get into the garden. Evening was feet up time with the knitting. Now need to think about today. Have a good day all jayemtoo - 2016-10-21 08:31:00
Morning ladies, home safely from Whangarei yesterday, we had a busy time shopping, first stop was the warehouse where I found a trolley full of discounted lily bulbs, all down to $3 a pack from $15 and $25, needless to say I bought several packs, now have to find places to plant them. Also bought a new broom, sunglasses, plants and two cushions for my outdoor chairs, would have liked 4 but they only had two and they were $35 each, but they are sooooo comfortable. Will have to see if I can get more online or at Kerikeri. Then we went to Arthurs emporium, my friend bought 6 buttons! I bought fabric, and some more snaps to replace the ones which are missing in action (ie. mislaid). Then to Mitre 10 to pick up the lawnmower, which was in with the other mowers, not in kitchenware! Then it was time for lunch, spotlight, number one shoes (didn't find anything there) and then Bed, Bath and Beyond where I bought a couple of bath mats. Then my appointment and home. I was knackered last night and promptly fell asleep in the chair after tea. Had planned to go out to the boat today on the high tide, but it looks like it is going to be too windy, so I'll have to rethink that. Might go to the Friday session of knit and natter and get some potting mix and do some gardening. Have a super day everyone. kuaka - 2016-10-21 08:51:00
Morning everyone, Wow everyone is soo busy. My back is crappy this morning. So Im doped up to the eyeballs lol.. And MrP has rubbed some joint releif on the sore bits. MrP was going to spray the weeds this morning, but its been raining, so that will have to wait. I got a 300gram ball of wool at the oppy yesterday and spent 2 hours untangling it and winding into balls.. For $2 I wasnt going to leave it at the oppy lol. Its a pretty pink, and will come in handy for blankets. Didnt get any crochet done yesterday, cos After tea I did our pill containers there wasnt much time left. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2016-10-21 09:15:00
Good Morning Ladies. Rained later yesterday and overnight so wet for gardening today. Just about can say we get rain show week. Housework and baking this morning. No k & n as it HB Anniversary Weekend. It great having that extra. day. Mr S is not sleeping at all much during the night due to the pain in his hips and lower back. Tries hard to be cheerful for me. Good shopping day for you Kuaka. It's good to have a friend to go shopping with. Have a great day and give yourselves some crafting time ladies. sunflowers28 - 2016-10-21 10:01:00
Its the same for me sunflower, re the lack of sleep. If I lay on my right side, which was always the sore side, it didnt hurt. but now the left hip and lower back is the same, I cant even lay on my left side. but which ever hip thats not being layed on hurts. I spenmd alot of time sleeping sitting up, ot trying to anyway. Ive put some washing away and have a load to go in the dryer. Now some more house hunting for my friend. popeye333 - 2016-10-21 12:17:00
morning ladies :) I had to laugh when dad told me maybe I wasn't so nuts working in the rain after all. He went to Bunnings to buy some fertiliser and 'some old biddy about 80 years old' was buying lots of plants for her garden and was planning on planting them when she got home. Lmao, he's getting close to 80! And good on her for still being active! Still plodding on with this cloth, it's big now but not quite as big as I would like for the table. About another five or six rows I think to go. Happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2016-10-22 07:20:00
In keeping with your chuckle about the old biddy kiwimade - my Mum turned 99 in August -started having gall bladder problems - because of her age they put drains in - told us she might not survive the surgery - but she was up the next day - unfortunately the drain didn't work so they decided to remove the gall bladder - again we were all told that at her age she probably wouldn't wake up - after the surgery was over the surgeons came down to see us - of course we feared the worst - bug they were absolutely gobsmacked they estimated the age of her vital organs is about Blimmin 60 to 65 - so we are all expecting her to take care of us! When she shifted into the rest home this year she told us her only regret really was she would have liked her death notice to read that she died in her own home - my brother jokingly said if she lived to 105 he would buy her another house - might have to dig into his very deep pockets! | 10613 | Morning everyone. When we lived in Mangakino, there was this lady Marge.. who was in her 80's . She was Never home. and was always "Picking up all the Old Ladies" is how she put it. they were mostly about 5 years younger than her lol. I am feeling alot better today. I had a second codiene with lunch and it whiped me out. I slept for 2.5 hours in the afternoon. Had a good sleep last night too. Have to pop up the road shortly then drag MrP to the kitchen for the dishes, hes left them too long again Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2016-10-22 10:17:00
morning ladies :) I had a very busy day yesterday in the garden, you think you have 'finished' but nope! I don't mind, it's another way for me to be creative and it's where I do most of my thinking and planning (scheming lol). Another row done, five to go! So almost there. Housework today before I can sit and crochet. Might even begin weeding along the roadside garden first. happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2016-10-23 07:41:00
Morning everyone. I do my thinking, planning, scheming when I crochet lol.. And usially when Ive finished reading at night and writing in my diary. We have been gifted a wheelchair for MrP. I havent checked FB yet , but the lady is bringing it down today.. Will make life soo much better for us both. I just hope I can lift it. But it has the small wheels so the weight of it will be less than full wheels. Crochet today. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2016-10-23 09:07:00
Morning All the same had a nice day yesterday as went out shopping with sister including lunch out. We only get to do this occasionally as she works full time, so enjoyed it. Had a good evening knitting and reading - so relaxing. jayemtoo - 2016-10-23 09:44:00
Morning ladies, I had a busy morning yesterday at the op shop, and then went straight to the club for the afternoon to play mah jong. I knew I wouldn't have time to go home for lunch so about half an hour before I finished at the op shop I nipped to the bakery just around the corner and bought a pie. So of course when I got home after the mah jong session I wasn't really all that hungry so I just had beans on toast and a fried egg for tea. Had planned to do a bbq, but when I got home the wind was screaming onto the deck, the bbq cover had come off and the bbq was slewed round at 90 deg. So I quickly scrapped that idea. Then promptly fell asleep in the chair and woke two hours later with the usual stiff neck. Must do some gardening this morning. Hoped I could get out to the boat to run the motor and charge the batteries but it's too windy, admittedly it is an off-shore wind, but I'm not prepared to go out there in anything less than ideal conditions. Op shop again tomorrow morning even though it's long weekend. One of the ladies from the market called in yesterday, she said the market was very quiet, so might have been another "no sale" day if I'd done it. I'm booked in for next Saturday, so fingers crossed for that. Might have to try to do some snooker practice this afternoon as I was told yesterday that I'm playing in a tournament tomorrow evening, and I don't want to let my partner down by playing like a girl! Have a super day everyone. Edited by kuaka at 9:46 am, Sun 23 Oct kuaka - 2016-10-23 09:45:00
morning ladies :) Wow kuaka, you have been busy! I saw your post on FB about the wheelchair popeye and it certainly will change your lives. You can go for strolls in the evening with daylight saving when it is nice and cool. And good luck with shopping together lol. I have another four rows to go, fingers crossed I can get it out of this new ball of cotton, otherwise I'll be buying another one for half a row. Happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2016-10-24 08:07:00
Morning ladies, I had another busy day in the garden yesterday - well a couple of hours anyway - and my arms are covered in scratches to prove it. The pesky bromeliads have little spikes on the edges of the leaves which are like tiny razors. Grrr. I do like them though. I had intended to clean some more of the deck ready for staining, but by the time I'd finished my gardening I was knackered. I always seem to run out of puff before I run out of enthusiasm. I gathered up some more rubbish and put on the heap and I sprayed weeds - it was blowing a gale on the water but the section of the garden I was working in was "becalmed" (and hot). Decided I needed potting mix for some plants I had bought but didn't have the energy to dig ground for them, so zipped to town to the four square, not a car park to be had anywhere, so went to Countdown, they apparently don't sell it, so back to the four square where I managed to park directly opposite (must have been the only available park in town - even the car park was chokka), I'm not looking forward to summer with all the pesky tourists clogging up our parking spaces! Man came and bought the old fridge, so that's good, it's gone. Hopefully it will still work for a while. Cooked myself a bbq tea and managed to stay awake all evening, but I slept like a log last night. Didn't do any knitting or crochet yesterday - very unusual for me. Kiwimade, looking forward to seeing a pic of your cloth when it's finished, and popeye, awesome news about the wheelchair. Right, have to get organised for my stint at the op shop. Have an awesome day everyone. kuaka - 2016-10-24 08:29:00
Morning everyone. Last night was soo funny in a way.. Every so often one of us would say, we can >>>> Go for walks in the evening (snap Kiwimade).. Go to the Museum and this morning was Go to the Christmas parade.. we are both Christmas lovers and you have to park so far away, that MrP couldnt walk to it then stand to watch or try and manuvour the walker. I might go out later and weed the front garden, only takes a few minutes. I want to make a big effort on the crochet today tho.. I have 12.5 rounds to do. Cos my next job will be a blanket/cover for the "wheels" ... I will use the funny looking wool I got from ice Yarns to make it.. So it makes use of that too. Have fun in your gardens everyone. Cant wait to see the cloth Kiwimade Have a fab day all popeye333 - 2016-10-24 09:45:00
Morning all - had a day away yesterday with my ten year old grandaughter - I knitted a Mary Janes tearoom rabbit and she "made" it - had to be very careful not to be too picky as it needed to be hers - came out fabulous - took a photo on my iPad but will have to get my son to show me how to post it here - can do it from my PC easy as gerry64 - 2016-10-24 10:45:00
Thats one of my concerns Gerry, but if need be I can take soo much off it , and it has small wheels it should be ok. We have a Rav four, so the back is very open to get it into. I havent heard of Mary Jane tearooms rabbts, would be cool to see a pic of that too. 12 rounds to go, and all the ends are sewn in so far. popeye333 - 2016-10-24 12:41:00
Morning There'll be no stopping your gadding around by the sound of It Popeye. Managed quite a bit of garden yesterday pm after helping for a while in the factory then knitted all evening. Niece is expecting a girl start of next year so been hunting out patterns and getting ideas will need to go wool hunting soon too! jayemtoo - 2016-10-25 07:38:00
morning ladies :) Lucky you gerry64, I can't wait to do things like that with our grandies. Would love to see a pic as well when you can upload it. oohhh a great niece, there are lots of lovely girly patterns out there jayemtoo. Almost finished!!! Two thirds of the last round to go... fingers and everything crossed I have enough cotton. If I run out it's a trip to Hamilton to buy another ball. I have some prunings I need to cut up this morning so will whizz through that before doing the last bit. Happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2016-10-25 08:05:00
Morning ladies, well it's raining so my trip out to the boat is off. Not going out there in the rain. Nor am I gardening this morning. I might vacuum and then sew till lunchtime. Last night I played in the second round of the "drawn pairs" snooker tournament. Don't laugh but I don't know if we won or not! My partner and I conceded the first frame in a best of three frame game. Not far into the second frame the opposing team was "warned" for "table talk" and told that it was not allowed. A couple of turns later and my partner called the opposing player for "table talk" and said he was "taking four points for a foul" whereupon the opposing player at the table threw his cue down onto the table and rolled it across the table, scattering the balls in all directions and said "f--k you" and stomped off. My partner wrote "no match" on the score sheet. As I left the club the manager asked was I okay and I said I was, but I was cheesed off that the score was one all, so we still needed to have a final deciding frame, but the manager said the opposition conceded the "match not the frame" so we had won. So I'm blowed if I know. The rules re the "table talk" as far as I can remember, are that you can discuss a shot before you approach the table, possibly you can go to the table and then retreat and discuss your shot, but once you've played a ball you can't discuss the next shot. The opposition player who was not at the table was giving instructions to the player at the table and that is a real no-no. Don't know why he thought he could get away with it. My committee meeting re the street party has been rescheduled for tomorrow evening, so I should try to do some knitting tonight as I did none yesterday at all. Hope you don't have to go all the way to Hamilton just to get more yarn kiwimade, still no doubt you'll find other things to buy as well. Have a super day everyone. Edited by kuaka at 8:29 am, Tue 25 Oct kuaka - 2016-10-25 08:27:00
Morning all - will put the rabbit on the knitters Facebook page - know how to do that -yes kiwimade it is fun crafting with the grandchildren - this particular grandaughter is very creative - can't keep up at school with maths etc but has already written several songs - performed her own song as a drum solo at a local pub at 9 ! She has been messaging me with what she wants to make next - her mum took her to wearable arts so we are going to sew a unicorn ! Have asked her mum to buy a cheap sewing machine my fancy thing would be too complicated - well back to being nursie - gerry64 - 2016-10-25 09:34:00
Morning everyone Ohh Kiwimade, my fingers are crossed as you play Cotton Chicken. What a mess Kuaka re the match.. some people are soo moody. Theres some nice simple machines out there now Gerry.. Mine is, but Ive had it for 44 years and still going strong. It does all I need it to do. Have to pop up the road (Grr) to post a couple of sales and get some eggs. I plan to make abacon and egg pie for MrP's tea. I have 8 rounds to do. Its going to be a fairly big blanket thats for sure. And I still think its pretty. Have a fab day all popeye333 - 2016-10-25 09:47:00
Prunings have been picked up and cut into small bits for the wheelie bin - amazing what I can jam in there! I've even mowed the lawn, it looks like we are in for a lot of rain, so I raced round hoping to beat it. Wow Gerry, sounds like you have a very talented grand daughter, the Wearable Arts would be perfect for her to see as well. kettle has boiled, better call MrK in for his cuppa. He's making me a stand thingy for the strawberry plants. It will be bolted to the fence at 'Maddy hieght', perfect for little hands to help themselves. kiwimade64 - 2016-10-25 10:49:00
*does the happy dance* I have finished! Phew... all the unpicking was worth it. There are still a few mistakes but I can live with them. https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/523986187.jpg It's on the line now drip drying and of course it has to rain lol. kiwimade64 - 2016-10-25 15:16:00
Oh WOW!!! That is fantastic Kiwimade - I would be doing cartwheels if it were me ( and I'd probably dislocate my hip or even worse!). I can't imagine doing such a large project - you've done so well - congratulations! tinybaldone - 2016-10-25 15:43:00
Ooooh Kiwimad that is wonderful - what an effort it will be a real heirloom piece. jayemtoo - 2016-10-25 16:07:00
thanks ladies :) Am very happy with it :) kiwimade64 - 2016-10-25 16:27:00
Its truely WONDERFULL Kiwimade. Brings back memories of one my friends mother had on her dining table. It was under glass thank goodness and it was just decaying away. But she left it there. if she had gtried to move it, it would have collapsed easily. 3.5 rounds to go popeye333 - 2016-10-25 18:53:00
morning ladies :) Thanks popeye, am really glad it's finished. Now to finish drying the cloth on the line, just my luck we had lots of rain late yesterday afternoon/evening. I need to finish the blanket I started, will need to buy some yarn for that so it can wait until next week when I do dad's garden. Might make a few more beanies in the meantime, something small. Happy knitting :) Edited by kiwimade64 at 7:40 am, Wed 26 Oct kiwimade64 - 2016-10-26 07:39:00
Morning everyone. I dont know what my head was talking about with the number of rounds to go... I have 3.75 now lol... So I should be able to get that done today. Cos Im having a CBB Day today.. lol.. A Cant Be Bothered lol.. Ive had some pretty pink wool on my watchlist for about a month so I may just buy that today... I dont know what Ill make of it, but its such a pretty colour. Tis fine here but windy Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2016-10-26 09:37:00
Morning all - that beautiful cloth jogged my memory I will look for the tin of unfinished crochet that my Mum gave me - take some photos and get some advice from you as to what I could do with if gerry64 - 2016-10-26 10:49:00
morning ladies :) Music and maths go hand in hand Gerry so if she writes music she has maths in her somewhere. And the spacial (sp) awareness needed for her creations involves maths too, doesn't always have to be what it learned in the classroom. She sounds like a lovely young lady. No beanie knitting for me, I picked up the embroidery piece belonging to my MIL and made a start on it. MrK is keen for me to finish it, my stitches are different to hers but that is to be expected as I'm left handed and instead of French knots I'm sewing in tiny white beads - hate French knots lol - and the beads will add a bit of 'me' in it. Hopefully she is looking down on me and approves! Hopefully it won't take long to do. Happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2016-10-27 08:11:00
Morning Nice relaxing evening though as found a few muscles I had forgotten about! Have a good day jayemtoo - 2016-10-27 08:23:00
Morning everyone. I finally finished the Sunburst blanket.. 11 days it took. But strangley yesterday I was "over it" lol.. I love it again this morning.. probably just cos it was taking soo long to get around. https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/524520668.jpg After I have done the shopping I will be digging out the yarn for a small blanket to cover the seat on MrP's wheelchair. Just to make it "His" Soo pleased he finally got the date for his hernia repair.. Roll on next Wednesday. popeye333 - 2016-10-27 08:26:00
Popeye - your "Sunburst" is fabulous - the name suits it so well. So cheerful - Well done. tinybaldone - 2016-10-27 09:15:00
Morning Everyone. Good on you gerry sharing your crafts with your Grand Daughter. As a Teacher Assistant, we work with a number of children who need help with reading and maths a lot. Hope she keeps her music up. I am without a washing machine for a few days. The hose from the tub and machine was leaking. Have to dry off floor boards.Hoping that all it is. They will test my machine while they have it as well. So the laundry has got a good cleaning as well. Not sure what to do about the floor,as most of the floor covering has lifted up as well. That another thing added to my list to do. err.. Off later today for a Ultrasound this afternoon. That my afternoon as I have to go over to Hasting. Napier badly needs its own hospital. Just may get to K Mark while over there. Went to K & N Tuesday and started a Summer Wrap in Cotton. Need to pick up the needles more during the week. Edited by sunflowers28 at 9:17 am, Thu 27 Oct sunflowers28 - 2016-10-27 09:16:00
Morning ladies, another busy day yesterday. Up at 6 and left home before 8 to drive to Whangarei to a friend of Mr Ks who took me on a cruise round the Kaipara harbour. His wife died a couple of years ago and a friend of mine says she thinks he has "designs on me". I think she is probably right, but I'm not in the least bit interested. Anyway he seemed quite keen to go on this 4 hour cruise, so eventually I said I would go, but to be honest, two hours would have been enough. It was quite pleasant and the history of the place was quite interesting but the scenery wasn't any different really from any other harbour or coastline I've cruised in NZ. So stopped at Spotlight on the way back for more toy stuffing for both myself and a friend, and then back to his place to pick up my car. I also used his phone to phone the chap who organises the snooker tournaments that Mr K used to do in Whangarei, and asked for his take on Monday's fiasco at the club. He agreed, they conceded the match and we should now play in the next round. Have to now convince my partner. Anyhow I was a bit weary by the time I got home. The only knitting I did last night was the snout on another pink pig. I still have four feet and the ears to do if I want it finished to put on the stall tomorrow. I've made a couple of tote bags and hope to make some more today. Fingers crossed for a good day tomorrow as there is a ship in. https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/524839961.jpg Have a super day everyone. | 10643 | morning ladies :) Sounds like you are being 'courted' kuaka! And I hope your partner agrees and you go through to the next round of snooker. Would be fun to see how far you can go in it. I have a couple of things I need to do outside today as well as a bit of housework. I've also finished one end of the embroidery and am working along one length. Am getting quite quick now at the stitches, was well out of practice at first! happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2016-10-28 07:42:00
Haha, yes kiwimade, and he has been nicknamed by my lovely step-daughter in Brisbane "Trevor the terror" because he keeps thinking up reasons why I should go and stay at his place. When he suggested this cruise he said "now I know you're not a morning person so you had better come down the night before and stay at my place". No flipping way - not a chance! Never. I wouldn't mind but he's not exactly George Clooney or Sean Connery. He's such an old woman, and as I said to a friend of mine, "the last thing I need is a tight-fisted control freak!" and that sums him up quite nicely. kuaka - 2016-10-28 07:52:00
Morning everyone. Hope you do well in the snooker.. Sunflower did Napier ever have a hospital, its a large enough place to have a small one at least surely? I started a "Blanket" for Mrp's wheel chair last night in the Yarn I got from turkey that didnt turn out to be anything like yarn lol.. Its soft but firm so should wear well. Blue and cream. So at least its getting used. Will have to duck back up the road today to post some sales. Cos the town will be closed off tomorrow for markets and the public fire display. And need to go to the center of town. HAve a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2016-10-28 09:03:00
I seem to recall that Napier had a reasonable sized hospital, a three storied building or possibly even more, but last time I was in Napier would have been in the late 80s or very early 90s so maybe I'm mistaken or thinking of somewhere else. kuaka - 2016-10-28 09:25:00
Morning Yes Napier had a very good biggish hospital situated on a piece of prime real estate on top of the hill, in 1997 the Government decided that there only be one hospital for Napier/Hastings and Hastings won as theirs is situated on a marshy bit of land (although of course that was not given as the reason). A lot of out patient type services were promised for Napier but these have slowly (and quietly) been whittled away so now very little DHB services actually remain in Napier. Makes it quite hard for those with limited transport and elderly who live in Napier. So saying Im off soon to take BiL to Hastings for an outpatient appointment, he doesn't drive. Been to the school to assist with their weekly breakfast, now off to pick up my passenger, have knitting - a beanie - in my bag for while waiting. Have a good day all. jayemtoo - 2016-10-28 09:36:00
housework done, gently run the vacuum cleaner over my keyboard and the letter 'c' key was sucked up lol. It still works as you can see but I think that's a hint our 10 year old laptop is overdue for replacement. Will have to wait as we want to go on holiday next year so our $$$ are being squirrelled away for that. I think if you decide to keep making excuses kuaka, we could have a bit of fun helping you! I'm sure we could come up with some inventive ones lol. Time for a cuppa, the strawberry 'tower' MrK is making is almost done so he will be wanting one too. I'll post a pic when he has finished, I know it's not knitting but our guys also keep pretty busy with stuff too. kiwimade64 - 2016-10-28 09:47:00
Home again after a looooong time at hospital - almost 2 hours for a 5 minute consult and another 5 minutes blood test. First dropped patient off and then spent ages looking for a park, have disability stickers but all disability parks were full. Finally a park in furthest corner of car park. Went and sat in sun until elderly lady arrived with husband who is a double amputee, no disability parks for them so I assisted her to unload chair and husband and just as we were finishing -took rather a while to do - a park looked like coming available so took husband in his chair and "booked" the park until the lady could come back with the car. Sat in sun knitted and read then chatted with another lady waiting for her ride back to Napier. First couple reappeared so helped them again in reverse - husband then chair back into car and then they kindly "booked" their park until I could collect the car and come back with it. By this time fortunately disabled parks were emptying anyway and people were able to get them without a wait. The park I got was in the shade which made the rest of the wait more pleasant too. What fun thinking of excuses for Kuaka, I am sure we could really confuse the poor man. jayemtoo - 2016-10-28 14:07:00
