morning ladies :) Another overcast/wet day today. The Furry One has caught another rabbit so he's a happy dog. Our tree is supposed to be coming down tomorrow morning so will be all go then.

I managed a couple of rows of my crochet, it is quicker when following the pattern correctly and not increasing as much each row lol. I'm thinking I may have to block this one so will have to think of a way to do it where there is plenty of room. Am also thinking I might finish this before going back to the blanket, I should have done that before starting the blanket as I'm not a fan of WIPs.

happy knitting :)

Morning ladies, it's wet here this morning just as the forecast said, but so far only drizzly stuff, I expect heavy rain later. I have to go into town later this morning but I won't be there long.

Yesterday I did the seat of a chair, this morning I will do the back of it and put it back together, that just leaves one to do which I can't use until Paul does some repairs to it, but I will pull it apart and do the upholstery, I just won't put it back together, that way nobody will sit on it and collapse it.

I also used the weed eater for half an hour, did the top lawn, the edges of the middle lawn, the lower lawn and the grass strip down the side of the driveway. I plan to get another mower to do the lower lawn but the one I want isn't available locally so might get one when my friend and I do our shopping trip to whangarei which won't be till next month sometime.

I have a friends 70th birthday celebration this evening, it was her birthday the week before mine but she's been away house-sitting and has just come back so it's a delayed birthday bash. We were planning to do something together as our birthdays are so close but then she was away. Never mind, next year maybe.

I didn't do a lot of knitting last night as I fell asleep in the chair after tea, one minute I was knitting and watching master chef, next thing the late news was finishing. Oops.

Whatever you do today, enjoy it and stay dry.

Good Morning Everyone.
Kuaku You have been busy with all the jobs you been doing around the place. hope it does not rain to heavy.

Busy day yesterday a group of us went out to a very long ,long lunch. No tea last night. We come together three or four times a year.I had been working on a swap as this is our last for the year. I did a Christmas Stocking and Labels. The swap has to be Handmade.
Was also worked on a baby blanket for a young couple who became first-time parents on Tuesday. The blanket was WIP so pleased to have that blanket finished as they leave to go back to their cottage on Sunday.
Popeye hope you are feeling better. Go easy.
It overcast at present so will do some more gardening this morning before Mr S gets up.
Enjoy your day everyone.

Morning everyone.

Rather warm and drizzly wet here.

Grr I just rolled my wrist over again. you would think id know how not to do it. trouble is I don't use my fingers if I'm adjusting in my chair cos of arthritis, so I put my hand down by tucking my fingers under, then end up rolling over on it.
But I refuse to let it annoy me. I absolutely need to vacuum today. so that will happen no matter how long it takes.

The sinus headache has gone thank goodness. It was a doozy and I even tried having a rest but that didn't help either.

MrP is still in bed, and after his grumpy mood all day I'm pleased to find he is in a much better mood. or he could have caught the end of my tongue today.

Will get to the blanket's later, once Ive done the floors

Have a fab day everyone

Morning
How frustrating Popeye about your wrist. You all seem to be keeping busy and well occupied.

Made a cute pair of hugg booties yesterday for a niece who is expecting her first baby, it's not until next year but these are a "great to hear your news" present, and also to brighten her up a bit as she has ongoing morning sickness.

Also managed to do several squares on the blanket, need to finish it before the weather gets hot as don't want to be doing it over summer lol.

Off to supermarket then a bit of visiting, knitting again this evening I hope.

morning ladies :) Hope your wrist is on the mend popeye.

Our tree is supposed to come down this morning, weather permitting. Doesn't look too promising out there though.

I bought a cute little black and white dress as part of our grandy's birthday present. Has a bright pink bow on it so will go beautifully with the pink cardy I knitted a while back. There are such lovely clothes out there for little ones now.

I've done a few more rounds and am slowly catching up to where I was before the Great Unpick. No extra increases means it is crocheting up quickly.

happy knitting :)

Morning everyone. We have a light misty rain. Going to be constant for a while I think.
The wrist is ok, I worked through it.. I did about 6 hours of crochet yesterday, 5.75 rounds , so they are taking a while. I have the bulk of it sitting on a tray table in front of me, due to weight and heat.
But Ohh through the night my arms were throbbing from elbows to finger tips. So I did heaps of different exercises, but good old codeine has helped.

So today I will go back to the squares which will help ease the pain a bit and not be soo heavy. Im 3/4rs the way through the squares, and only have one sequence of colours left on the large blanket.

Have to pop up to NW this morning then its perfect stay in weather. The museum is having an open day this afternoon. If it fines up I might take MrP up there. But its no ,good if it stays wet.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning ladies, a late start to the morning for me, last time I looked at the clock last night it was 3am but I slept and didn't wake till 9, so I'm all behind this morning.

I had hoped to get out to the boat this morning but it's blowing half a gale so today is out, tomorrow morning I'm at the op shop, so possibly tomorrow afternoon, or tuesday morning otherwise it will have to wait till next week.

I've started knitting a gollywog to sell on the market, I haven't done one for ages, and when I've finished him I'm going to do a Mrs. Gollywog. I really need to persevere and finish the elephant puzzle ball but I need to concentrate on it and that seems difficult just at the moment.

So I'm going to do the back of the dining room chair this morning (the one I hoped to do yesterday) and that just leaves me one more to do and then they're all finished. I'm quite pleased with the result but it's not something I'd want to do again in a hurry.

Have a super day everyone.

morning ladies :) The sun is out, phew, after a weekend being stuck inside I've got a bit of cabin fever!

The Furry One has a vet appointment this morning, just a check up to make sure there are no side effects from this new medication. He's fine, just the vet being cautious.

One good thing about a wet weekend is I managed to crochet quite a bit. Almost caught up to where I was before I unpicked, another three rows.

Lawns need mowing and garden weeding, we must be in spring. Late yesterday afternoon we heard a tui in the garden, the first one we have ever had. Got a real kick out of that :)

Happy knitting :)

Morning ladies, certainly is spring kiwimade, I have blossom on my ornamental crab apple tree, and the lawns are growing like crazy. We have tui here all the time, and pigeons, wax eyes, chaffinch, fantails, rosella, kingfishers, it's really lovely.

Would be a perfect day to go out to the boat, but I don't have time as I'm at the op shop at 10. Hopefully conditions will be the same tomorrow and I can get out there, would be good as we have a power cut scheduled for 9 till 2 to replace a power pole up the road.

I didn't get much knitting done last night as I fell asleep in the chair - again. I did finish the kitchen chair though so just one more to do.

Morning everyone
I miss the tui's that used to be in the cabbage tree out the front. Have seen Monarch butterflies around and that's very early isn't it?

The chair are looking Lovely Kuaka. They go nice with the blues in the décor.
After over doing it on Saturday, I did the grand sum of 4 squares yesterday. My left arm is finally easing, the fingers are still grumbling a little. But a Lesson learnt.

I have to do our pill trays this morning so that will give the fingers a wee work out.

A few days ago we didn't think the lawn would need doing tomorrow. But the warm wet has brought it on. And I want them done on pay week, so they will be done tomorrow if the guys turn up.

I think I have solved the mystery of why I get my hives. I saw something on embarrassing bodies one night, so was having a look around yesterday.
http://familydoctor.org/familydoctor/en/diseases-conditions/
exercise-induced-urticaria.html

Highly possible just the movement from crocheting is doing it. They were really bad on Saturday night, and are slowly easing now. So I'm going to ask the dr when I'm there next. Its not food or touch that's setting it off.

Right better rattle the daggs..

Have a fab day everyone

Afternoon
The chairs look great Kuaka. Hope you can get on top of the hives Popeye, no wonder your poor arm complained at all that crocheting - it may need a good telling off to behave next time lol.

Just back from an enjoyable morning in the factory, I get so dirty out there but enjoy pottering around and feeling of accomplishment at the end of a session. We have to pace ourselves as BiL gets angina if starts to overdo it, just as long as we keep ahead of our orders.

Bit of drama though as I "lost" my Fitbit, was sure I had it on when I went out but then noticed it was missing, we both hunted high and low and I checked on my phone and had done over 3,000 steps so knew it must be there somewhere. Was starting to think it was gone for good when I found it half under some biggish scales it must have just flipped off my wrist. I would feel a bit lost without it as use it all the time and like the challenge and incentive to keep my steps up each day and it is extra special as it was a present from a nephew's family.

Managed several blanket squares yesterday and feel like I'm progressing again.

Have a good rest of the day. It

morning ladies :) Antihistamines may help the hives popeye. Those fitbits certainly look pretty neat jayemtoo. I have a pedometer to measure my footsteps. Must dig it out and start using it again.

The tree is down, now for the cleanup. Will buy some petrol for the chainsaw this morning. We still need a digger in to lift the old broken concrete so will ask our friend for a price to do it. And to remove the tree stump as well. But first things first, will get this tree cut up and off the lawn.

I crocheted a row last night, it's taking longer and longer now to do each round. But it is looking like the picture lol. Still kick myself over that silly mistake. Oh well, it is what it is.

happy knitting :)

Morning everyone,
Yep I already take antihistamines Kiwimade. Can be annoying tho. But I'm doing a really good impression of a Sioux Indian with my warpaint on my arms.. lol.. Calamine lotion for the itch.

Will be nice to have the area prepared for the Fort Kiwimade. I can imagine Maddy having a ball in it, until her brother is big enough to play too.

I did a few squares last night. And counted up. Ive done 52 which is 10 more than I thought I had done. so only 8 to go. well that's not definite until Ive laid them out and see what it measures.

Have to nip up the road this morning. MrP is in bed still.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning ladies, an early start for me today as I'm off down the line, just going to have breakfast, load the car and set off to take puss to "club med for cats" - it's a pity I have to head north with puss before setting off south but never mind.

I was thinking yesterday that maybe I should delay the trip as the weather forecast wasn't great, but it's a lovely morning here, although I suspect as I get further south the weather could all turn to custard. I have a wee bit of a sore throat too, but I'm feeling fine.

Yesterday morning I rowed out to the boat in perfect conditions, ran the motor and checked things generally and rowed back, then in the afternoon I went to my usual mah jong session which I enjoyed.

Might not have any internet while I'm away, so if not, I'll have some catching up to do when I get back.

Have fun everyone.

Morning
Safe travel and have a great time on your travels Kuaka.
Light drizzly rain here at the moment, think it is forecast to last most of the day.
Will be dry out at the factory this morning and means I can put my feet up and knit this pm. Almost at top of the blanket but think I might need another row along the sides which means an extra 11 squares to do but might as well make it big enough at this stage.

Have a good day everyone

morning ladies :) have fun kuaka and we will catch up with you when you return. I didn't think you could buy calamine lotion any more popeye but I do remember it!

We still have half a tree to cut up but are getting there. It got very cold yesterday afternoon so by 3.00pm we were both ready to go back inside. Now it's persisting down so the rest may have to wait until tomorrow.

I am now passed the spot where I began the Great Unpick. Seeing as the weather is rubbish today I should be able to do more some time this afternoon. Need to post my voting papers and do a few other things in town this morning.

happy knitting :)

Morning everyone.
Safe Travels Kuaka, its drizzling here but nothing like we thought we were going to get.
Jayemtoo can I ask what sort of Cat litter you make? Ive only ever used the white stuff, the budget brand.

Yep Kiwimade Calamine lotion has been around for eons. I get it in the supermarket.
Something I did find the chemist still had the other day was Qtol.. The pink lotion you put on after sunburn.. That's been around since we were kids too.

Tried binding my arms last night. didn't really work.

Finished the main piece of the big blanket last night. Didn't have enough wool to carry on. Ive got enough to make some daisys tho. I made some a couple of years ago for a trader on here, and its the same person Ive done the blanket for, but through FB. Her daughters name starts with V. So Ill put V's made from daisys in each corner.
Have about 8 squares to go on the smaller one. It wont take long to join up. So should have them both done and dusted by the weekend.

Have a Fab day all.

Morning
Hope you can get on with the tree today Kiwimade, annoying isn't it when these things drag on due to the weather. It has rained nearly non stop for past 24 hours and think it is going to be wet today too, not that I mind as have several things to do in town and a bit of housework as well.

Popeye the pet litter is made out of paper with a few natural products added for absorbency, odour control etc so it is an all "natural" product. It's still early days but we have a couple of catteries and some cat breeders using it on a regular basis so will see how it goes. BiL is also looking at making a type of bedding for small animals such as rabbits and mice, he is full of ideas (not all of them the most practical) lol.

Got to the top of the blanket yesterday but have decided to add the extra row along the side to make it the same size as the blue one, had wondered if I could get away with one row less but it looks a bit skimpy on it.

Have a good day

jayemtoo - 2016-09-22 08:25:00

Morning everyone
Hope you can get to the tree again today Kiwimade.. I like to get things done asap sometimes, so understand how it is being dragged out.

Wow Interesting Jayemtoo.. I hope it goes well for your bil.. My Missy girl is a full time inside cat so uses litter all the time. Is this one you make Light in weight? I struggle with the big bags I buy, but is ok while MrP is here. But something I will have to think about in years to come.

I too have finished my squares, well Ill decide when I lay it out later if I will need more. I have no idea how big a cot blanket should be, so only guessing.
So I have the joining of that one and some daisy's to make for the other. And its 3 weeks today since I started them.

Shopping first tho. And Finally have MrP coming with me. He hasn't been out since that Very cold day two weeks ago. I froze that day and here we are two weeks later and I'm in a tshirt lol.

Hope your trip is going well Kuaka, and that the sore throat didn't worsen.

Have a fab day everyone

Hi Popeye - We too have an indoor cat who uses a litter tray. We use a clumping cat litter which is great - we buy the large bag, tip it all into the tray and it lasts at least a month - when the cat pees, the litter forms clumps,. all you need to do is remove the clumps as and when needed. Same with the pooh obviously. Am attaching a pic of the ruler of our home.

omggg tinybaldone, she is gorgeous! And rightly so she should be Queen lol.

We've managed to slice and dice a little over half of the tree, the bigger branches and trunk have been moved (rolled lol by me) onto concrete so they don't kill the lawn. MrK has cut the bigger bits up into logs with the chainsaw ready for our friend to take away for firewood. Amazing how much you can squeeze into wheelie bins if you cut it up into small bits. Two wheelie bins almost full with just over half a tree - and this tree was as high as the power lines. Times like this I miss our paddock where I could drag the branches and then burn the lot.

Time for a cuppa I think.

kiwimade64 - 2016-09-22 10:45:00
10474

Oh she is beautiful Tinybaldone.. I will look into the clumping litter.

Glad you have some more of the tree done Kiwimade.. I imagine not having the section is a loss at times like this. I miss our green waste bag. When I cut our ferns and roll it all together and put into rubbish bags. Don't know what ill use now tho, cos we cant use black bags anymore.

Have done the shopping. Got a huge plastic pot which I will fill with potting mix and lift the daffodils when they have died down. we are getting rid of the garden they are in but I want to keep the bulbs. Will probably take 2 bags of potting mix. And the grand cost of $6 for the pot, up at our recycle centre.

Yayay Lettuce and cabbage were down to $3, so I got both and am enjoying a nice salad sammie.

Have a fab afternoon everyone

popeye333 - 2016-09-22 12:50:00
10475

morning ladies :) Yesterday MrK bashed the cut up branches down even further so I squeezed in another quarter of the tree into a wheelie bin. So not much is left on the lawn for next week and only smaller branches so the lawn won't be killed. He also cut down another smallish tree on the roadside that had died so we have been busy.

Tomorrow our granddaughter will be three, can't believe how quickly time has gone by.

I crocheted another row, was hoping I could finish with the thread I have but suspect I will need to buy some more. My crochet will need to be put away over the weekend, the hook I am using is a 1.75mm and I don't want our grandy getting near it.

happy knitting :)

Morning everyone.
Overcast here but I don't think it will rain.

Time has gone soo fast Kiwimade, that means our old neighbours girl will be 3 in November.. She already has a little sister who is probably nearly one. They certainly didn't muck around lol.

Glad you have the tree getting sorted.... My stepfather was very good at giving trees a hair cut. Mum very seldom asked tho, cos a hair cut to him was ground level lol

I had a bit of a day off yesterday. I did 8 daisys and that was it. will be laying the smaller blanket out when I get back from doing my bloods. Thanks to Kiwimades daughter I now have the measurements for a cot. I suspect I my have plenty of squares lol.

Ouchies yes a lot of damager with a tiny hook like that Kiwimade. Enjoy your birthday party.

Morning
Busy street at the moment as neighbours are having a garage sale, cars started arriving about 6.30am not that I really heard them much, just aware of extra traffic as normally a very quiet street.

Have to get going soon as having a special session of Mainly Music for family and friends, a chance for dads, grandparents etc to see what the little ones do there. No idea how many will come.

Not much knitting yesterday, having a "can't be bothered" evening as seemed to be on the go all day with baking, shopping etc etc.

Don't forget to spring your clocks forward tonight.

Have a good day

morning ladies :) We're expecting our daughter and her wee family as well as a friend of daughter's from school this morning for our grandy's birthday. So will be all go shortly.

Yesterday I managed to buy tickets to see Bruce Springsteen so a friend is coming with me. Can't wait, haven't been to a concert for years and years. Money has always been 'tight' with having the kids so never went while they were young. So decided my friend and I need to have more fun in our lives and we should go. And I can cross the concert off my 'bucket list' lol.

Did almost a whole row with my crochet, I must take a 'work in progress' pic. Am pretty happy with it and glad I have picked it up again to finish. 15 rows to go :)

happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Have fun with the music Jayemtoo. Thursday night I had a "Cant be bothered" night. And I wasn't going to do anything last night but did in the end.

Ive joined two rows completely , and two more that Ive joined the rows, will join them and add to the main piece. I have 4 dark daisys to do, and then a dozen light ones. when I made heaps for the napkin rings they didn't bother me, now tho I'm not enjoying them. but its one way of personalising them for the little girl.

So those are my jobs today.

Kiwimade Ive only been to two Music concerts. First was Cliff Richard in the Bowl of Brooklands, which is an outdoor theatre in New Plymouth. and then I saw Donny Osmond up here.
Both docile concerts Id never go to one with standing room only and screaming people lol.

Have fun with Maddys Birthday.

Morning ladies, well sadly I had to cut my trip short and came home yesterday as I'm not well, sore throat, hacking cough and runny nose, I just hope I haven't passed it on to my old friend as she is quite frail now. She was pleased to see me and it was lovely to catch up and she was disappointed that I left so soon, not sure whether I will visit again, it's quite a drive.

I feel worse today than I did yesterday so probably made the right decision. No knitting for me last night as I just dozed in the chair all evening. Must try to have a tidy up this morning then relax this afternoon with the needles.

Hope everyone else is well - have an awesome day, don't forget to change the clocks

Oh dear Kuaka do hope you are feeling a lot better very quickly, you did the right thing though not to be generous and share your bugs around to your friend. Think it's always easier to feel "off colour" in your own surroundings too.
The music session went well, a reasonable number for a Saturday morning and everyone of all ages joined in and seemed to enjoy themselves.

Happy birthday Maddy, we have miss 3 great niece's birthday next weekend.

I know I don't, as I've never bought that particular yarn, if nobody here has any, have you tried any of the knitting boards on facebook, there's quite a few including "yarn destashers". Good luck with your search, very frustrating when you haven't bought enough.

morning ladies :) Hope you are feeling better today kuaka. That 'moda vera' wool drives me nuts as even though it weighs as 50/100 grams it doesn't have the meterage other brands have. I've been caught out as well so now buy extra balls. I hope you are able to find extra balls freedreamz, otherwise it might be a matter of mixing colours somehow.

We had a fab day yesterday in spite of the rain up at the animal farm on the Kaimai Ranges. Our grandy ran everywhere lol, couldn't decide which animal to feed, pat or look at first. Sooo much energy lol.

Another wet day today so I may get some crafting in.

happy knitting :)

Morning everyone,
Hope you are starting to improve Kuaka.

I thought of you and the weather yesterday, glad to hear Maddy had a ball despite the rain.

Raining constantly here again today. The lawn is growing fast now.

I'm in the process of turning my bed, well the mattress anyway. Ive stripped it, barring the electric blanket, that will be next. It will probably take me most of the day as its a very low bed.So will spread the work with crochet times inbetween.

Only 8 daisys to go now. And 3 rows on the cot blanket.. Both will be done in a couple of days. Sewing the daisys on shouldn't take too long.

A perfect day for being indoors doing what we love.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning ladies, well I'd like to say I'm feeling better but I'd be telling porkies. Throat is still sore, still got my awful cough but I don't think my nose is running quite as much as yesterday. At least the sun is trying to show its face today, it was miserable yesterday and this morning we had fog first thing.

My lawns are going crazy too but they will have to wait till I feel better. The fridge is going crazy too, a couple of weeks ago it was freezing everything, including all the veg, now it's barely getting cold. Might need a new thermostat or it might be time to buy a new one. Bugger.

Going to just potter about indoors for a while, try to do a bit of paperwork and then knit.

Have a super day everyone.

Afternoon
Just had the civil defence sirens going, there is one reasonably close here but it wasn't very loud or clear, I think it was more the local dogs howling rather than the siren that letter me.

Those petting farms are such fun for little ones aren't they Kiwimade.
Well have done the last square on the blankets so now just a bit of edging and numerous ends to be darned in. Cold wet afternoon so know what I'll be doing.

Morning ladies, the day is starting off looking good with a watery sun and no wind so far, but I suspect it won't last. We had the tsunami siren testing yesterday, I could hear it but not loudly, if the tv or radio was on I would have no show of hearing it but I think I'm pretty safe being so high above sea level, it would have to be a ginormous tsunami to wipe my place out.

I managed to do some knitting yesterday afternoon sitting out on the deck in the sun which was lovely. I tried not to look round at the lawn which needs mowing nor at the guttering which still needs cleaning, they can wait till I'm feeling better, and I am feeling a bit better today, which is just as well as I'm at the op shop from 10 till 1. Have to phone the electricial repair shop as soon as they open as my fridge has decided now is a good time to stop working. Course I sold the spare one a few months back. I can just hear Mr K saying "you should keep it, you never know when the other one will pack up". Grrrr! A few weeks ago it was freezing all the veg now it's not getting cold. I'd like a new one, just not yet.

Have a good day everyone.

morning ladies :) Good to hear you are on the mend kuaka and what a buggar about the fridge! Always something isn't it.

I've run out of thread for my crochet - knew I should have bought more while I was in Hamilton. Oh well, it will have to wait until next week, or Friday when we are in Rotorua. I think there is a Spotlight there. In the meantime I'll find something else to potter with. Just hate having WIPS and that's two now.

The rain is easing up a bit but still have big black clouds hovering. Saw the Karangahake Gorge on the news last night and am very glad we don't live there. I remember in the 80's the flood that washed every building except the pub away.

happy knitting :)

Morning everyone.
Cloudy but not raining as yet..

I hadn't realised that the kids finished school on Friday. so its very quiet down this end. No zillions of cars lol.

I have joined the cot blanket.. Have decided to do 3 rows for the border, but Ill weigh the wool before doing the first round, then Ill know roughly what a second will take. and Ill do a contrast colour.

I finally finished the daisys, so have them to sew on as well.. I wont be taking two orders at once again...I don't like having two things on the go

Hopefully my wool order from Loveknitting will be here by the end of the week, so Ill be able to carry on with the Battleships blanket. Have to make room for it lol.. oops.

Have a fab day everyone

Had a lazy day yesterday so feel out of sorts today.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone.
Grey here, and warm.

I was feeling out of sorts yesterday Kiwimade, maybe its to do with the change of season and time.

Might have to pop up the road again this morning. Have to ring and see if MrP's script is done.

Finished the cot blanket, looks nice I think, even tho Purple isn't my fave colour. Will do photos later.. Will be sewing the daisys on the other one later.. So 4 weeks to get them both done, is pretty pleasing.
And the money will go towards our hogget which I ordered last night. My friend hadn't ordered it like I thought she had.

That's me for the day

Have a fab day everyone

Morning ladies (just), well I've had a quick trip to Kerikeri and an expensive one at that. New fridge/freezer coming tomorrow afternoon. I had to take the one off the showroom floor or wait till Friday of next week - so I opted for the showroom one and have it delivered tomorrow. I didn't get any extra discount for taking that one, even though I tried, but I figured it was better than waiting over a week with no refrigeration.

I took some stuff up to a friend to store in her fridge and freezer and will drop some more stuff to another friend on the way to mah jong, then hopefully I can get it back again on Thursday.

I'm about to have a coffee then mow the little lawn before I go to mah jong.

Enjoy your afternoon everyone.

Afternoon
Somehow I'm a bit out of kilter time wise since Sunday lol. I actually like daylight saving but need a few days to adjust it seems.

It has rained virtually non stop for several days now, just a steady wetness if that makes sense. Was out at the factory yesterday and an electrician arrived and managed to get off the slippery driveway into the slushy ultra slippery ground beside it. He didn't seem to have much idea of getting out of the mud and we ended up having to push his van after putting down bits of ply in front of the wheels. As happens when pushing behind wheels we managed to get covered with splattered mud. Had to remove my jeans as just solid mud and put on my rain jacket with legs in the sleeves to protect my modesty hehe -was a real sight I can assure you!
He said he would be back today but think he is waiting for things to dry off a bit just in case as he didn't turn up.

Started a baby cardy just for something different and use up wool left over from blankets although still have heaps of ends to darn in.

Enjoy your new fridge/freezer Kuaka, we certainly depend on them don't we.

Off to aquarobics, nice to be going in daylight.

Morning everyone
Wet here still, not that I'm complaining , I like it.

Finished both blankets yesterday. Then sat there last night wondering what to do. two hours of tv without something in my hands seemed to take twice as long.
But this morning I thought I could have been making my tree ornaments for the swap this year. so ill be getting that out later.

Off to MrP's diabetes eye check this morning. hence being up early. Thankfully we can do it locally, we used to have to go to Papakura, about 20 mins away.

What brand fridge did you get Kuaka? I love our Westinghouse. I love the single full width vege drawer. Makes it easy when it comes to cabbage etc.

Have a fab day all

morning ladies :) lmao jayemtoo, you have me laughing at that image of you wearing your jacket like jeans. The things we do! Lovely having a new fridge/freezer kuaka. :)

The tree is all sliced and diced and off the lawn. Am going to finish this coffee then head outside as we are meant to have thunderstorms this afternoon. Need to mow the lawn and weed. We have students arriving next week and I like the garden to look nice for them. They will be our last for a while until after our grandson is born. Can't make any commitments to them as we will be dropping everything to be there for our daughter when her time comes.

Am pottering with a small bookmark cross stitch to tide me over until I can buy more thread and wool for my WIPs.

Happy knitting :)

Morning Everyone from a very wet Napier. I have been in and out on here to keep up with everyone. everyone. Had a tooth out last Thursday and my mouth has been painful since. Off to the dentist this morning. Hope they can do something about the pain.

In the meantime, I have been blanket stitching a woollen blanket that I cut down for a cot. It a green check, lovely and soft. Giving it to the young ones who had a son a few days back.No knitting here at present as my next job is to change some curtains. Fingers crossed I can get away with without sewing news just now.

Popeye the blankets look great. Great colours. Have you given up on knitting altogether?
Jayentoo I can picture in my mind what you must have looked like. Ha Ha. Now you need to put a set of clothes in the car.
New fridge/freezer for Kuaku. We are getting to the stage where we will need a new one as well.It 20 years plus old.

I need to move now as time going quickly this morning.

Stay dry and warm everyone.

Morning
And still it rains!
Decided to stay put this morning as just too wet out but will go to supermarket later I think - will wait and see, great being able to just decide as I feel like it.

Do hope the tooth settles quickly Sunflower, toothache can be so draining.

Am knitting a pair of knickers for a doll. It's the cabbage patch doll we are giving to great niece for her third birthday this weekend. Been to opshops and got quite a few bits of clothing but poor thing has no pants. The onesies I brought were far too long so have cut off the crutch part and made them into T shirts and dresses, unfortunately my sewing machine has decided to not work properly so had to hand hem them and hence need for knitted panties. Think machine needs a good overhaul so will get onto that sometime soon don't use it a lot these days but really miss it when I do have something to do on it.

Have a good day all.
