I reckon you can never have too much wool either

Morning ladies, it's lovely and sunny here this morning but very windy and the forecast isn't good so I may not bother going anywhere today.

The lunch yesterday was okay, the menu was very ordinary, there were 10 of us and I knew or had met most of them. At one stage I noticed one of the staff cleaning the metal gizzmo that the coffee goes in to be clipped into the machine but she was using the t-shirt that she was wearing, and another was continually running her fingers through her long hair and pushing it back over her shoulder, so not terribly impressed with that. I'm not sure that I will go again. It sort of hammered home the fact that I'm on my own and that basically is the only reason for us getting together. I came home feeling quite glum.

So I did some sewing, then had a practise on the snooker table (which didn't go well) and then came upstairs and lit the fire 'cos I was cold. The fire always cheers me up.

I plan to do some more sewing this morning and then knit this afternoon and at some stage have some snooker practise.

Have a super day everyone.

Morning everyone

Sad your lunch out wasn't a fun time Kuaka.. Id have report both the ladies. very poor in a restaurant. The Long hair should have been tied up for a start.

Kiwimade the Fort sounds like a fun idea.. Just don't start having gambling and drinking in there like Emmerdale lol.

Our Super Lady at winz is a right cow.. Theres no way to describe her in any other way. The several occasions I have been to see her Ive never had a hello, kiss me Butt or nothing. I don't think she liked the fact that I was a lot younger than her and getting the pension.
I know she was terribly ill at one stage. I haven't had to go for years so she might not be there these days.

Had a flat battery day yesterday. Didn't do anything really.. Although I did a round and 3/4s on the big blanket after tea.

Told my friend off last night. Her brother has been married to a lovely lady for 13ish years but been with her for loinger than 16 years and My friend only just found out her birthday, Via facebook. I said why have you never asked, ? her answer, she simply hadn't. (That's what her dad was like). So I told her off. And no wonder they don't have any kind of relationship. She makes sure they knew hers,

Shopping this morning. Mrp is still in bed. But hoping the courier will come today with some lovely wools.

Have a fab day everyone

popeye, the lady that Mr K and I dealt with in south Auckland when I went on the pension 20 odd years ago, was another one "trained by Hitler". Anyone would think the money we are receiving is coming out of their own pockets. The last person that we had to deal with a while back in Kerikeri was lovely and couldn't have been more helpful if she tried. I often wonder why people do these jobs if they find them so distasteful.

It is now blowing a gale and raining, the rain is coming down almost sideways.

GoodMorning from a cold overcast Hawkes Bay.
We are going to put in 3 raised garden beds as our soil is not great and also we are on a riverbed,so have lots stones to deal with as well. Have two herb gardens, one close to the house and other up the back by where the veggie beds will go.Always used herbs and it works for me. As for the flower gardens, one will extend out more. Marked it out yesterday.
Always been my time when out in the gardens and hopefully.

Yes, I would think about going out to lunch with that group again kuaku. I hope you are inside today at the market and starting warm. I had the fire lit early yesterday as well and it will be lit again shortly.

Off now to juice some oranges as there more on the ground and have a look at our fruit tree that in flower.
Need to do some baking sometime today as well. Knitting perhaps tonight...
Cheers Everyone and stay dry and warm.

Kuaka you did well at the last market. Is there another ship in or is this week a regular weekly thing. My daughter has a hat that I think would sell well to cruisers. It is like a skull cap and good to keep long hair off the face. I couldn't find a pattern but the crochet stitch was like Mum market bag by EmilyBittel only holes a bit smaller. From memory it had about three rounds at the edge but if you are interested I could get a photo. Would be quick and inexpensive to do and nicer than a beanie. The pattern for the Jewish men's cap might give you the stitches required and some ideas. It was windy in the night but not what I would call gale force but I am rather sheltered from the Southerly in Wellingtin. Sleety today.

Oh gross kuaka re the two ladies in the café. Even when I worked at Maccas a few years ago (never ever ever again lol) there were strict rules about hygiene.

Well I picked up the crocheted tablecloth I started early autum to see where I was at and was working my way through comparing the pattern to my crochet and buggar me days, I had made a mistake four rows back which will affect the pattern later on. So have ripped it all back and having another go at that row. In a way I was lucky, I would have found out there was a mistake further on and had a dickens of a job to find it.

Homemade chicken soup and toast for lunch - MrK makes the best soup!

OMG it was cold up the street. I was just going to grab a sleeveless vest to wear but am glad I put my long sleeve cardy on.
I was soo cold I got a scarf in the oppy too.. And I must have looked like I dressed there cos I was a right mismatch of colours.
Its rare I say I am cold, but I am today.

Our local recycling centre has a shop, and today I got a big bag of ribbons, haven't sorted them out yet, 2 cut glass bowls, Some Salter digital kitchen scales and an electric weedeater which is certified safe all for the grand sum of $10-50.
I'm going to enjoy sorting the ribbons. I like that as much as untangling wool , embroidery cottons and knotted chains.. I know I'm weird lol.. Well not really just Methodical !!

Stay warm everyone, its cold out there

There's no cruise ship in, the market is twice a month on Saturday's so this is just a regular market. I'm always open to suggestions for what to make. Funny thing is, you can sell half a dozen of something one day and then not sell another for ages.

As for the staff in the cafe they obviously haven't taken the food safety and hygiene course that I took at Manukau Tech years ago. When I was the cook at an old folks home matron sent me along - the home covered the course fees but I had to do it in my days off. One thing we did was to place four things on a petrie dish and then go back the following week to see what had grown. We were instructed to wash our hands and then rub a finger down the outside of our nose, and place that in one section, spit in another section, pull a hair out of our head for another section, and put whatever we liked in the fourth quarter. I had washed my hair just that morning but was still horrified at what had grown a week later. Some people have the most appalling hygiene habits, or should I say lack of hygiene and they wouldn't have a clue!

Afternoon
It sure is cold today and a bit of hail a short time ago. Good job you found the mistake now Kwimade although still frustrating having to unpick some. A fort will be great for your Grandies.

Had a lovely catch up with my friend yesterday afternoon. Also brought some right pink wool to knit a jersey for great nieces cabbage patch doll, have to use a prem size pattern, a change from the blanket.

Been out to the factory this am, thought we would freeze but actually not too bad at all mind you I was on the go all the time and out of the wind.

Now relaxing with a coffee and knitting sitting ready to go.

Lovely frost here this morning, hope everyone is staying warm.

Happy knitting.

Morning everyone.
A cold night, not as bad today but its beautiful out there. Still windy so Ill wrap up warm to take the car up for its warrant Argh!!!.
Do my bloods and post a parcel while I'm up there.

Have fun at school Kiwimade.

Today I'm back to the blankets. Have had a couple of quiet days. Did do 4 squares last night, so that was good.

Have a fab day everyone. I need to get moving

Morning ladies, yes it was cold yesterday, little puss followed me round like a puppy all morning but when I lit the fire at 1pm she just plonked in front of it and never moved, stayed there all afternoon and evening.

I managed to do some sewing yesterday and some knitting, but I didn't venture out other than to the wood pile for some kindling. My little plants are looking a wee bit sad but I'm hoping they will survive. It is lovely and sunny today but it's really blowing a gale and it's cold.

Have to get myself organised today ready for the market tomorrow. I'm busy finishing off some tea cosies and labelling things and I will need to take something along to work on, so probably another tea cosy. Can't sit there all day and do nothing.

My laptop has played up twice, yesterday and this morning "your pc ran into a problem and had to shut down, restarting now - critical process died". I've just googled it so hope I can follow the instructions and get it sorted out. Don't really feel like forking out for a new one at the moment.

Have a super day everyone, have fun in the classroom kiwimade.

morning ladies :) It's going to be a gorgeous day here so I'll be outside planting some new plants. Spotted a big rabbit under our bedroom window this morning, the Furry One raced outside then shot back in through the doggy door - there was frost on the ground lol. He is such a wuss! He'll catch it eventually.

Did another round and a bit last night on the cloth, I feel all thumbs crocheting cotton after crocheting double knit. I'll be picking dad up from the Auckland airport next week so will go via Hamilton and call into Spotlight for more blanket yarn. Might need more crochet cotton by then as well. I'll need to call in to his home on the way and pick him up a jacket anyway as he will really notice the cold as well as his disabled parking ticket so I can park close to the airport doorway for him.

I should be able to craft sometime today, depends how soon I can get out into the garden. Will wait for the frost to lift.

Happy knitting :)

Morning
Brrrr it's still cold here, was so cold yesterday and wet but not actually raining at the moment but looks like it could anytime.

Have a funeral this am of my lovely neighbour, he was only 63 and sick for a couple of months so sad.

Hope your market goes well Kuaka. Unless the weather really picks up by next week your Dad will certainly notice the difference in temperature Kiwimade.

Finished the doll cardy and made a pair of shoes for it as well yesterday, just need to find the buttons, I'm sure I've got some that will do. Then better keep on with the blanket I guess.

Have a good day

Morning everyone.
Why oh why do we lose our typing..!!

Beautiful day here, cannot see any clouds.

I meant to tell you, I untangled the ribbons. They had been made into a door curtain like the old plastic ones. I ended up with just over 74 meters of red black and white ribbons.. I shall have to have a gander on Pinterest to see what people are using them for. I'm sure theres more uses that just putting them in my hair lol

I did four squares and 2 rounds yesterday, So I'm pleased with that.

This morning I will once again be in the office/craft room. I need to make room for 62 balls of wool lol. Thankfully the stuff from Turkey will all be in packs, so easily stored.

MrP is in bed still but he will just have to handle any noise I make.

Hope the market goes well Kuaka.

Have a fab day everyone

Evening ladies, well it was very quiet at the market today, I managed to sell two items which was better than one lady but some of the ladies managed to have a reasonable day.

Came home and puss was waiting for me and had left a little deposit in the middle of the carpet. On first glance I thought it was from her tail end but definitely not, she had chundered so I hope she's just eaten something that didn't agree with her rather than she's got something wrong and will need a vet visit. I really don't need vet bills at the moment.

I really do have to try to figure out why my laptop is having so many hissyfits, I hope it's not on it's last legs. I will ask Paul for help. I don't want to be forking out for a new one at the moment - I don't need to be forking out for anything other than essentials right now.

Anyway seeing as it was so quiet at the market today I sat and finished an owl tea cosy and a cup cake tea cosy and I don't feel in the least like knitting or crocheting now, so I will probably just sit and nod off in the chair in front of the telly after tea.

Have a good evening everyone.

Not good re the market Kuaka, but as you say it could have been worse.. And you had a productive time too.

Put your feet up and relax now.

I'm going to go back to my crochet hook now. Ive done half half the squares for the cot blanket and I must be over halfway on the single blanket.

I got the office cleared up and room for the wool influx. 8 balls arrived today.Yay.

Only problem is Ive now pinched my sciatic nerve from my back to hip, but thankfully its not going down my leg.

Lifted a crate the wrong way I guess

So am treating that tenderly.

Morning ladies, well I survived yesterday without getting too depressed despite it being my wedding anniversary, and although it played on my mind, I tried hard to stop it getting me down too much.

What is getting me down at the moment is this flipping laptop, my typing keeps disappearing, and it won't let me get onto facebook - keeps telling me it's an insecure connection or something, then when it does let me on there, it's just all writing and no pictures. Grrrr. Surgery time I think.

Have a lady coming round this afternoon wanting me to shorten a net curtain, might try to do the back of a chair this morning, that will be 4 of the 6 completed, and only one to do before Paul's next visit when he gets to repair the 6th one before I can re-upholster it. Might try to do the lawns today as well.

It's still cold up here, so much for spring and global warming. I really thought the weather would be starting to warm up by now. Mind you an old lady I knew at Russell always used to say "as the days get longer, the cold gets stronger" and I've always thought August is the coldest month, but seems it's dragging on into September.

I had to laugh at the market yesterday after we had packed up there's the floors to sweep and vacuum. I did the vacuuming. It's a job I hate doing at home and there I was happily doing it in a flipping big hall. Must be mad.

Look after yourself popeye, I seem to have a cranky back today, probably from sitting all day yesterday.

Have a super day everyone.

morning ladies :) That's disappointing about the market kuaka but two sold is still two sold. I wonder if some back problems are caused from sitting, especially when crafting and your neck is bowed looking down. We were always told when working in an office we needed to get up and stretch and move about a bit.

Back in the garden for me today when the frost has lifted. MrK wants to empty last years soil from a raised vegie garden and one corner of the flower garden could desperately use it. But I need to weed it first. The tomatoes were planted in it so what's the bet I have tons of tomato seedlings popping up in my flower garden lol.

I crocheted another round on the cloth last night, starting to get my groove on with cotton.

Happy knitting :)

Morning
Well I guess 2 is better than nothing Kuaka and next time it could be everything sold! ( well we can be optimistic lol).

It's still cold, I think we usually get a cold spell in September when we think winter should be over. My miniature apricot trees are just covered in blossom so hope this weather doesn't affect them, have only ever had 2 apricots off them and that was a coupe of years ago.

Busy day yesterday with the funeral and then visitors for dinner but managed a couple of squares in the afternoon. Hopefully will get more done today.

Morning everyone.

Kuaka I often type things to have them disappear, and my lappy is umm 6 months old maybe?
Its blardy annoying tho.

I knew a lady who lost her hubby, but she decided that she would celebrate their wedding anniversary every year regardless. As she said they didn't divorce, and I kinda agree with her.

I know what did my back in this time lol, was lifting a crate of wool lol, just twisted the wrong way and its all pinched up ... Its hazardous to your health lol.
I have pillows in the front of my chair, so that when I sit into it, my spine is stretched longer.. sounds odd but its comfortable.

Had a rough night, but I have to go up the street this morning, so I will make sure its the only trip between now and shopping day.

I'm of course enjoying the cold hehehe.. the longer it lasts the better lol.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning Everyone! Sunny Day and a late start in this household today.

The HabitatHouse that was built on our street last year, the owner think they own the street now. Party started at around 7ish and finally shut down at 430am. They think they are above everyone else. Had to call Habitat to get lawns mowed, clear section three or four times. The Street Phone Tree was busy as we keep ring noise control last night and this morning.
The people who helped build the house would be disappointed if they saw how the place is been treated. I will say no more.

The markets down here are very slow at present. The craft markets are mostly monthly here. At least you had some company and got some knitting done Kuaku. We don't have craft markets here when the tourist ships are in.To busy taken out to wineries and other bus tours around the area.
Hope Paul can have a look at your iPad when he over.A lot of people take their IPad,Laptops etc to the local library and the staff will try and help them out.You can book20 min session. Maybe check out your local library.

Hope your back comes right Popeye. Take some time out and away from sitting too long.

I am off out into the gardens today as we are expecting a trailer load of Bio Rich Soil this coming week. Have got seeds coming up that I planted a while back.

Did some work on a project I am working on at present. Needs to be finished by next Friday.

Have A great Day Everyone.

Morning everyone
Another lovely day ahead, its cooled a bit since I got up.

Lol Kuaka, shes a beautiful little helper ..lol Mum used to do a lot of jigsaws. I did them when younger but went off them. Cant sit at the table long enough to do them now.
My back is easing thank goodness, I have a few loads of washing to do, but they will be done by the end of the day. Will have to go through the dryer tho, cos I cant stretch to the lines.

Didn't do much crochet yesterday, was too sore and too doped up to concentrate lol.

So that's my jobs today, crochet and washing.

Have a fab day everyone.

Kuaka - your cat is simply beautiful! You should know by now that cats cannot stand to have a box unexplored. They must sit in it no matter what, especially if it's too small for them. I too love doing jigsaw puzzles - I see that yours is a wasgij - love them too. Have done quite a lot lately - started when I could only use one hand, and kept going. Slowed down a bit now that I am knitting again.

morning ladies :) omg what a cutie kuaka, I miss having a cat - it's the purring I miss the most I think.

Had a mad dash to Taupo Sunday evening as our daughter and her wee family were ill. Daughter was vomiting so off to the ED for her. Left her partner at home with grandy. So no crafting for a bit.

Back to school for me today, that vomiting/diaoherrea (sp) bug is really nasty but means more work for me.

Happy knitting :)

Oh dear Kiwimade hope daughter is well over the "bug" now, have a lovely day with the children.

Your photo made me smile Kuaka. I like to do jigsaws occasionally too but if I start one want to finish it quickly, now have an ap on the iPad and can download one when I feel like it.

Spent yesterday pm at the hospital waiting for sister at an outpatient appointment we thought she would be about ½ hour but a lot of waiting around so took over 2 hours pleased I had thrown in a bit of knitting.

Off to sing with the little ones at Mainly Music this am - and 'do' the kitchen so better get myself organised.

Still working away on my project for Friday. Going to pop in to Knit n Natter group this morning before going to a physio appointment for some work on my back and knee.

Morning everyone, Hope your family are all mending Kiwimade. And have fun at school.

I don't know if they have Mainly Music here. My brother and sister in law both help at one at there local school, they are very musical, having cds of their own etc. So they love helping the kids.

Good luck with the physio Sunflower.

Ive got a bit of hang over pain this morning. but it is much better than the weekend, thank goodness. yesterday I alternated 3 loads of washing, drying and folding with crochet between and although I was tired the pain was manageable.

Missy Moo poked her nose in where it wasn't needed last night. we realised that we hadn't seen her for a while, I thought she was just curled up on the bed. But she didn't come when called. I went straight to MrPs wardrobe, there she was curled up asleep on the blankets. So she has a new name for the day "Tuck way ting lol... She was quite happy when she came out lol

A day on the hook for me, its taking a while to get a round done on the large blanket now.

Have a fab day all

We are holding off as that is also a double wire caged op Does stop me in my tracks some days doing what I want to do.
Hope Everyone Enjoying their afternoon.

morning ladies :) Wow sunflowers, you certainly have had more than your share of back troubles!

No school today so hopefully I can finish weeding the garden I started Saturday. It's supposed to rain and our friend said if he's rained off work he'll come and cut the tree down where the grandy's fort is going. Been wanting this tree gone for years but MrK has liked it and refused to cut it down. In the meantime it's gotten bigger and closer to power lines - so another reason for it to go.

Should be able to craft today all going to plan.

Happy knitting :)

Morning
Find I am waking earlier with the lovely light mornings, washing done just waiting to be hung out but that can wait a bit yet.

I am about the most unmusical person out Popeye, can't carry a tune at all but luckily all the children and their carers are too busy singing loudly and doing the actions nobody notices and I spend most of the time doing the kitchen anyway lol.

Great that the physio is helping you Sunflower.
Had a bonus session of aquarobics last evening the pool is supposed to be closed for several months for earthquake strengthening but the steel hasn't arrived so still open for a couple of weeks yet. Find it good exercise with no stress on hips and knees so will really miss it when steel does arrive.

Have several odd jobs to do this am so out earlyish I hope then can get into garden this pm - well that's the plan now but who knows what will eventuate lol ( the needles might win!)

Have a good day

Morning ladies, I spent two hours yesterday morning with the local computer expert trying to sort out my laptop troubles. He could find nothing wrong with it, so because he didn't "fix" anything, there was no charge. Brought it home and it immediately crashed twice, and when I go into facebook using firefox I don't get any pictures and my games won't load, but if I use chrome it seems okay. Grrrr. Think it's getting near the end of it's life but I want to get a new lawnmower before a new computer.

Have an appointment at the doctors this morning so will take my knitting, then off to knit and natter. Have a lady coming round this afternoon to pick up some sewing which I haven't done yet, but it won't take me long.

Started off really sunny but it is clouding over. Not sure what it's going to do, we may have rain later.

Have a super day everyone.

Morning everyone.
Few clouds in the sky this morning. Mild tho.

I wish the school across the road had been able to get its swimming pool done. but typical council they wouldn't help. So it was canned. The only other pool here is an outdoors one that is so old its dangerous.
It would be the perfect way for both of us to get our backs working.

My twin and MrPs eldest brother have both had their spines fused, and neither have been successful. So I'm going to leave it as long as I can.

My pain in minimal today, which is lovey

Have a couple of things to do up the road, then back to my hook.

Have a fab day everyone

Popeye - I see from your post that you have relatives with spinal fusion which was not a success. I had my spine fused in 2009 (bottom to shoulder blades). It has been most successful. I do have slightly limited turning and bending capabilities, but having no back pain offsets that. If and when you have yours done, I hope that you have a successful outcome.

Good Morning Everyone. I was nursing a 2-hour old baby boy yesterday. You forget just how small they are.My neighbour's daughter ended up having a home birth as he was three days early. Both are well.

My knitting needles are still waiting for me to be picked up again. Did some knitting last night.

Not good news about the pool jayemotoo. I did 3 years of aquaerobics. Space got smaller and smaller so went over to Hastings for a year.May give it a go when they reopen the pool.

Not good, popeye to hear your family members op was not successful. My op was successful. Alway knew I would need this 2nd one.

Have a great day everyone.

I might bring it up with my GP, its a scary thing, probably for me more scary than my heart surgery lol.. 10 years ago I was told by an orthopaedic specialist that my back is 20 years older than I am. he had never seen a back soo old in such a young person.
Its almost a dream to be able to sit, stand and lay down and be comfortable again.

Does it take terribly long to get over?

Hi Popeye - It didn't take too long to get over the op, but I have to say that it took about 12mths for me to move naturally without having to think about it! I was very aware of my movements, even though I wasn't in any pain. Have to say though, I am quite a bit older than you!! I was 67 when mine was done.

morning ladies :) ohhhhhhhhh sunflowers, how lucky were you! And yes, you do forget how tiny they are.

MrK had a partial fusion of his spine and he's just fine popeye. And I know what tinybaldone means when she says she had to think about her movements. I was the same after ankle surgery. Even though it was years ago I still don't climb over rocks and run like I used to.

I'm off to the Auckland Airport today to pick Dad up so hopefully you can give me some nice weather to drive in popeye lol.

I could have cried yesterday... was looking at this crochet cloth and thinking this isn't right, the points of the star aren't going to meet up where they should. Yep, I was increasing too many times so I had to unpick *sob, sob* around 20 rows, pretty much half of my work. By the time I did that I just couldn't face it. Will take it with me to the airport for something to do while waiting for dad to clear customs and have another go at it. It's certainly small enough now to take with me.. sigh... *slaps side of head* follow the pattern you silly woman!

Happy knitting

Morning
Oh Kiwimade I would have cried too, how frustrating. Have a safe trip to Auckland.

Going to town this am would like to be able to walk in but am looking for a chair for a small boy's birthday present. He is getting a desk so will need a chair to go with it. Might be a bit awkward to bring back on the bus lol.

If I drive I can go via Skeinz and see what they have - just checking of course ????.
Sister has roped me in to be part of a team for Steptember as one lady has had to withdraw so need to keep my walking up so will fit in a walk later fortunately can include other exercise as well.

Have a great day whatever you are doing.

Morning everyone,

Sorry Kiwimade its wet up here. Drive carefully.

I know you mean re thinking before you walk etc. I do the same when I get out of my chair and if I bend over. I will talk to the dr tho... Most nights I lay there a while thinking, well will I be in pain when I wake up..

Ohhh NOOOOO re the cloth Kiwimade, Id have cried too. On the blankets I'm doing if I make a mistake I leave it, and call it my Amish mistake. which makes it unique. I know I have one in the big blanket and assume there are some in the cot one. will notice more when I'm joining that one.

I did 8 rounds on the big one yesterday. Sitting with the bulk of the blanket on a try table, makes lighter work out of it.
Even if Missy lays the guilt cos she cant sit on my lap. I gave in to her last night and she slept there about 20 mins then got off so I got another round or two in.

Shopping this morning. MrP is staying home and doing the dishes. There is a mountain, cos I refuse to give in and do them for him. He thinks if he leaves them long enough I will give in.. All that does is mean he has to stand longer at the bench.

Have a fab day all

I've managed to have another 'go' at this cloth, it's not hard, just me misreading the pattern. So now I have my groove back and it is starting to sit properly too. Heaven knows why I didn't pick up on what I was doing before.

Raining here so will be a slow trip to Auckland. The Furry One hates the rain and being wet so is stretched out on the back of the couch. He's waiting for more rabbits to appear, they certainly keep him busy.

Time to pack my back pack for my trip - I find it easier to have a back pack as I need to wheel dad in a wheelchair as well as manoeuvre his luggage.

Evening ladies, I woke at 4.40 and couldn't get back to sleep, so I stayed in bed and dozed, but I must have slept at some stage 'cos when I finally stirred it was 8.55 - oops. I had asked a friend yesterday if she wanted to have a shopping day in kerikeri today, doing the op shops, a quick visit to new world, the sewing shop and Bunnings and briscoes. I wanted some acrylic yarn and a new dinner service along with a garden fork and a mandarin tree. I saw one nice mandarin tree for $124.99 but the one I bought was $21.99 - okay it's smaller but as I said to my friend, that $100 difference will buy a lot of mandarins while I wait for mine to grow. The garden fork was $15, a new handle for a fork was $24 and then I would have to wait for a Paul visit before I can use it. This one has a 5 year guarantee.

We found a new wool shop that we didn't know existed, I saw a dinner service that I quite liked in one of the op shops but didn't buy it, went and looked in Briscoe's but didn't see anything I liked better, so we went back to the op shop and I bought it. It's not exactly what I wanted, but I'm so sick of what I have - which I bought at Foodtown while I was still married to my first husband - it was a half price special, dinner plates one week, tea plates another week, cereal bowls another week etc. we also had a lovely Noritake set and a Mikasa set but I didn't get custody of them!

We had a coffee and eats for lunch just before 3 and then came home, next time we will have a day out in whangarei but not till after my trip away next week.

I'll have to do some knitting tonight.

I hope everyone has had a good day.

Oh kiwimade, I would be gutted if I had to unravel as much as you did, the only consolation with crochet is you only have one stitch to pick up!!!!

morning ladies :) lol so true kuaka, one stitch is much easier to find! And now I see how the cloth is sitting better and how the pattern is working so am pleased I didn't throw it in the 'I'm pi**** off with this bin'.

I survived the Auckland traffic - OMG!!! we finally left the airport but got stuck in the early evening traffic. Am so very glad I don't have to do that commute every day. Would make me bonkers.

By the time I got home (stopped for dinner on way home and then coffee with sister) it was very late so no crochet for me. Will blat round and do the housework this morning and then crafting later. It's raining still so can't get outside just yet.

Happy knitting :)

hi all kauka I am also up your way where did you find that wool shop ? I only know the one on the mainstreet . I have been busy knitting a wee scarf in 2ply challenging a bit but is nice and light in lovely blue colours makes a change from the multitude of baby and kids clothes that I seem to be making .It is really funny but if I still down at any of my families houses and I put down my knitting the wee grandies automatically ask me it I want them to get it .....

Hi Michelle, it's in Hobson Ave, just across the road from where the St. John's op shop is on the corner of Cobham drive. It's set back from the road and is in a business called DDGold (or something like that) and its in the same room just at one end. There's a lovely range of wools but it's all wool or cotton, no cheap and cheerful acrylic. They have pattern books, knit pro needles, buttons etc - worth a look if you are in kerikeri. The lady was telling us that the main business is in kaitaia.

Not sure what to do today, should be going out to the boat as it's nice and still but the tide is dropping already. Maybe Sunday if the conditions are right and I can get organised early enough, otherwise Tuesday.

Might do another dining chair today and get some petrol for the weed eater so I can get busy again with that. No doubt I'll do some knitting at some stage.

Have a super day everyone.

Morning everyone.
Wet here, which is fine by me lol.. And I do have to go out in it lol..

I quite enjoyed shopping alone yesterday, I didn't rush and actually had time to look.

Sounds like you had fun Kuaka. $124-99 for a mandarin tree... OMG that's ridiculous eh.

Kiwimade the traffic up here has been chronic for the last couple of years, roadworks not helping either. we always stick to Great South Road if we aren't going any further than Middle More Hospital. Its always less busy.

Got quite a few small squares done yesterday. I'm 3/4rs the way on both blankets now. I have three to sew ends in on. and about 3-4 lots to sew in on the big blanket so Ill get those done today and stick with the big one again.
Have a fab day everyone... its perfect for crafting

Morning
Cool and overcast but no actual rain here.
Agree re Auckland traffic Kiwimade, the main place I tend to go there is the airport and always allow lots of time "just in case"! and always very pleased to head out of Auckland too.

Off for a bit of a walk soon before then taking BiL for an appointment - almost think I need a taxi licence at times lol.
Oh this second blanket is dragging on and on but don't want to put it aside as may be ages before restarting it so will just plod on I guess, have done a square this am so each one is one less to do.
Did get a bit of wool yesterday for some hugg booties so may do them as something different, they certainly are quick to make.

Have a good day
