I reckon you can never have too much wool either

#Post
10351

morning ladies :) I like the idea of a mop to clean the gutter kuaka, and yeah, you are going to get wet lol.

Back out in the garden for me even if it is foggy. I want to buy a load of topsoil at some stage to build it up a bit.

I fond a tee shirt left behind by our grandy (well, her mum lol) so will put that in the post for her today. They usually leave something behind.

I didn't do much crafting yesterday, but slowly picking away at the blanket.

Happy knitting.

Morning
Surprising what you can find under the bed after visitors, I had 2 odd socks at one stage but no one wanted to claim them.

Cool but sunny at the moment I'm off to the factory a bit later, trying to keep stock up while BiL in hospital - he's doing ok there - but there are a couple of machines I've never started so a bit of a learning curve, so far there's been no explosions lol.

Will put something into slow cooker first, have some shin beef and that needs a slow cook yum.

I'm like you Kiwimade picking away at the blanket not tired of it yet fortunately but does seem to take time.

Have a good day everyone.

Morning everyone.

Carolev I have know idea what you are talking about.. Unless you mean you were kicked out of the knitters group for trying to sell something.. that was not our faults.. Its in the rules plain as day. That was your mistake and up to you to deal with it.

We have a beautiful day here today. windows all open, yay not windy at all.

We had a lovely simple day for our anniversary..

Ive done 6 squares of the cot blanket, while I wait for the cream for the single blanket.

The nurse rang before. Results from MrP's swabs on his legs.. he has MRSA.. how the heck he got that I have no idea.... unless its layed dormant since he had his heart done. So I have to go get another script for him. His legs are improving tho

Then Ill vacuum and get back to the squares.

Have a fab day everyone

Wow Carolev. Well said popeye333. I think the ladies explained it to you at the time. I find the group of ladies that post here regularly lovely people and very inspiring. So much so that I have got back into my knitting after quite a few years break. Have completed 3 hats, 3 cowls and two pair of fingerless gloves in the last 5 weeks.

10355

Morning ladies, I'm pleased we have inspired you carton, I don't know what I would do if I didn't have my knitting and crocheting to do, I would die of boredom I think.

I'm busy trying to get organised for tomorrow's market but I'm gutted because yesterday at mah Jong one of my friends gave me a pair of beautiful beaded ear-rings which her husband bought for me in South Africa. I dropped them into the pocket of my shopping bag along with a pair of her ear-rings which were in a tiny little packet (she wants me to mend them) and when I took them out of my bag this morning, one of my ear-rings is missing, it's not on the little plastic card. I tipped the bag upside down and shook everything out, it's not there, I've looked in the car, not there. I will go to the church where we play and see if it's on the floor. I'm really brassed off about it.

Knit and natter this morning, it would have been a good day to go out to the boat but the tide is almost out, or do some gardening, but that can wait.

Have a super day everyone.

Welcome aboard Carton - you have been busy.
Knitting is such a relaxing occupation for me and this group certainly inspires me to do something different - even to 2 single bed sized blankets which I never thought I would be bothered with.
Well one blanket so far and hopefully the second will get done before too long lol.

10357

oh awesome carton, am glad we have inspired you to get back into knitting/crochet! Now we need to see pics!

I hope you find your earring kuaka, they are extra special when someone has taken the time to pick out a nice pair for you while away on holiday.

The fog has lifted so the washing has been hung out. Hopefully there will be enough sunshine left in the day to dry it. Will have a quick lunch then back outside for a while.

kiwimade64 - 2016-08-31 11:55:00
10358

Soo pleased Carton... You can be very proud of yourself.. What is the next Project?
Its a lovely day here.

The dr rang, she seems to think the same as I do, He got the bug in hospital but it layed dormant for a while.
Ive got some cream, and she has left another script there for me to pick up on Friday, if we need it.. It is one that works against the resistant to antibiotic bug, better than some others doo. but apparently can mean you store too much potassium which of course affects Kidneys. And of course his aren't good anyway.. But its only if we need them.
She is having Friday off and I think doing something special for her birthday on Saturday.

Managed to get the same wool for the boarder of the cot blanket Phew, so Ill be back to that after my play on here

Ohh Kuaka, check that little Madam hasn't "Hidden" your earring, maybe it fell out at home and she has scooted off with it.. Hope you find it.

Take care in the garden Kiwimade, the pollen is thick here at the mo

Good luck for the Market Kauka. I look forward to hearing what
Sells for both you and others. Yet another Spring like day in Wellington. The weather has been fantastic this month.

All the very best for the market tomorrow, Kuaka. With the variety that you have, I feel sure that you will do very well.
Reading about everything that you have all been doing, I feel as though I'm being left behind! I seem to take 2 steps forward, 1 back, so I'm not losing ground, but making very slow progress. Have been juggling knitting with card making, as I had quite a few orders for cards and I'm running short. When I gave up the market 2 years ago, I had a lot of stock left but it's almost all gone now. Shouldn't complain, I enjoy making cards and it's a change from knitting.
Happy crafting to all

morning ladies :) Good luck with the market today kuaka, hope it all goes well for you.

Nice to see you posting again tinybaldone :)

I have another 'strip' of squares to crochet to the blanket so will do that today, am almost halfway now. The squares are becoming a no brainer so I can crochet and watch TV or chat as I go.

MrK pointed out to me garden pitch forks are on special at the Warehouse and are cheaper than replacing the handle of the one I broke. So back to the Warehouse today I go. I miss the garden fork so will be good to have another.

Happy knitting :)

Morning
Grrrr wrote a message and then it wouldn't let me post it - frustrating but here we go again lol.

Have fun at the market Kuaka. Crazy how part of something can be as expensive as a whole one Kiwimade, my weed eater's battery has almost had it but a new battery is $10 less than a total new machine.

Lovely day here weather-wise so will go and check on BiL, he came home yesterday we would have preferred he stay another day as sister had to be in Wellington for her work today but they needed the bed! Then out to the factory for a while it is rather nice out in the country on a day like today.

Seem to have slowed down on the knitting at the moment, procrastinating on other things but there's no hurry.

Have a good day

Morning everyone

Hope all goes well today Kuaka... Do let us know how it went.

Soo annoying when you end up replacing things rather than mending

Our smoke alarm in the kitchen was beeping this morning. It did about 2.5 years on the battery so cant complain..

Slightly overcast here today.

The cream the dr gave us for MrP's wounds is good stuff, they all look better after two applications. YAYAY..

Hes calling himself MrsA now instead of MrB or MrP as he is on here

Hes going to stay home this morning, doesn't want to share his bugs. Although no doubt I'm a carrier too.

Shopping , the chemist and posting the blanket this morning.

Have a fab day all

Good Morning and Welcome to Spring. Frost this morning. Busy day ahead, Pick up the car today before Mr S changes his mind. It is smaller and will be easier to park etc.I hope soon fingers crossed.

All the best with your stall today. It's early for the cruise boats .Kuaku, I do hope that earring is on the floor in the hall.
Love the blankets you are making Popeye. Looking forward to seeing your blanket to kiwimade.

I need to pick up my needles again. Busy out in the gardens and keeping Mr S from falls.
Went out Friday night with my friends who were up for Knit August Night.Spend less that $20., and placed an order for 100g so I can then knit my shawl.Brought some online a while back. Waiting to see the seller. Fingers crossed it be here next week.

Good to see some new names in here. Welcome ladies
Enjoy your day everyone.

Afternoon ladies, I'm home after quite a successful day at the market. I sold several tea cosies, an egg cosy, a couple of crochet pouches, fingerless gloves, beaded bookmark, bootees and my second bright pink pig, but no puzzle balls (lots of interest in them) and no sheep. Haven't tallied up yet but I think it was worthwhile. I'm booked in for another one on 1st October, and might get a call in the meantime if someone else cancels. I think the people at the hall are friendlier than those on the village green.

Now to relax for an hour or so and then cook some tea.

Oh well Done so pleased for you.

Have you found your earring?...

Have to report MrPs legs are healing really well.. Amazing cream... Need to make sure we keep some on hand.

The wool arrived for the second blanket this afternoon so have done about 13 rounds I think..
Will do more after dinner... And I'm feeling hungry for a change.

Have a fab night everyoen

morning ladies :) Awesome kuaka, well done! And you get to meet people as well. I gave our daughter some old earrings for her to turn into stitch markers for me, maybe your odd earring can have the same thing done to it if it's mate isn't found. You can still use it then.

That's good news about the cream popeye, hopefully MrP will be up and about before you know it.

ooohhh a new car sunflowers, how exciting. What's the bet you will be looking for your old one in the car parks for a while lol.

mrK is off for his annual check up today, apparently he has been having chest pains and not telling me. Got a tad cross over that one. So while he is in town I'll blat round and get housework done with the stereo cranked up.

I've been busy putting music onto USB sticks for the new stereo. These USB sticks hold lottsss of music so I've been putting different genres onto different sticks and can add to them as we go.

I should be able to craft this afternoon.

Happy knitting :)

Morning
Early start to the day as felt the earthquake at 4.37am - odd sort of rocking and the house certainly creaked.

That would make anyone cross Kiwimade, I hope Mr K got the message loud and clear to let someone know if getting chest pains. He better tell the Dr.
Great that you did so well Kuaka.
What sort of car Sunflowers? Some of the small cars are surprisingly roomy.

Been out and helped with school breakfast and now enjoying another coffee before getting going again.

Didn't get much knitting done yesterday as out most of the day and then again in the evening to aquarobics. Hopefully this evening I'll get onto the needles a bit more.

Have a good day All

jayemtoo - 2016-09-02 08:52:00

Morning everyone
I like the idea of the stitch markers from the single earring. or perhaps it could be turned into a necklace?

Kiwimade MrP used to do the same thing, re not mentioning any chest stuff etc. I was lucky in the fact that I could say, well I wont mention when mine happen then. And I always go to the drs with him, so he cant "forget" to tell them anything.. MEN!!!

I cant believe just how fast this cream is working. I was a little worried it would turn everything to wet weepy mush but its soo good. He said hes feeling better in himself too so that's good. cos it has all been getting him down.
I did 16 rows on the large blanket yesterday and two squares for the cot blanket. so I'm pleased with that.

I have to nip up and do my INR again, oops was low the other day. will get his script and post my yarn lotto.

Then Ill be hanging off the hook again

Have a fab day everyone

Afternoon ladies, well considering I woke just after 1.30 this morning and couldn't get back to sleep I've had a busy morning. First I used the blower-vac on the driveway (it's quite a big driveway) then I washed the car, and then I mowed the little bit of lawn out the back.

I've just had lunch and am about to go to Kaikohe on an errand for Paul. I can't say what it is I'm doing for him but it will probably involve several trips to Kaikohe but after everything he has done for me, I'm more than happy to do this for him.

I've already made a list of what I want to make between now and the next market and have made a start. Quite looking forward to it although I realise that next time I could sit there and sell nothing. The lady on the next stall to me sat all day using her spinning wheel which got me thinking I really should learn how to use mine - I've had it 15 years and never used it yet. She suggested I take it along next time and she will have a look at it because it probably needs some bits replaced and then she will teach me. Looking forward to that.

No good about the earthquake for those of you who felt it. Horrible things - should be a law against them.

Right, I had better get cracking. I have things to do this afternoon.

Enjoy the rest of your day everyone.

morning ladies :) We have a family day to day, a get together with MrK's family.

Won't have time for knitting/crochet until I get home and did none yesterday as I was racing round madly trying to get my sister's dog to the groomers on time. Lonngggg story lol but I made it five minutes late.

MrK had an ECG and all good. Our doc is very happy with him considering he was dying a few years back. Just needs another blood test as his INR has gone up a tad.

Happy knitting :)

Morning
What a relief for you both Kiwimade.

It is another great day here so out to the factory soon, we got 2 good orders yesterday so need to up the stock again. Then I'm off to visit a friend this pm who lives out in the country. There is about 14ks of unsealed road which makes it a bit slower but they do it all the time and think nothing of distances.

Slowing down on the blanket so perhaps next week I will get some baby wool and start a few things for a niece although early days for her it will give me a bit of a change.

Have a good day.

Morning ladies, well I had quite an interesting afternoon yesterday, but not all that successful as far as the errand for Paul. After that I went to the Warehouse and returned a $15 item I had decided I didn't need and spent $30 so my bank balance is no better off! Then I went to New World and made an even bigger dent in my bank balance.

Decided on the way home that I was starving so I stopped and bought fish and chips, brought them home and had them - they were lovely but I couldn't eat all the chips. Never mind. Had a phone call from my sister and then promptly dozed off in the chair. I woke this morning at 3.30 and thought that would be my lot but turned over and went back to sleep until 8.15 so hopefully I will feel a bit more lively today.

I have some lettuce, silverbeet, broccoli and capsicums to plant and today looks like perfect conditions for doing it, so I will try to do that before lunch. I might go to the club this afternoon to play mah jong. One of the ladies phoned and said that several were planning to go today.

I have some sewing to do as well before Wednesday (for a chap who always goes for a coffee at the place where we have knit and natter - he sits with a group of men who just natter). And of course the house needs tidying up and there's always cleaning and ironing to do. I'm sure I will find something to do today.

Meantime I'm going to do some knitting while I have my cuppa then I will tackle the day.

Have a super day everyone.

Morning everyone.
Glad to hear MrK is doing well Kiwimade, my INR was down so had to retest yesterday and its come up a week bit.
Everyone is soo busy at the mo.

I'm going out Again this morning.. The oppy still has its half price sale so ill go buy some more sheets for MrPs bed. Some of his are grotty looking where the blood wont come completely out.
The cream for his legs is healing it really well. Ive put it on this morning and asked him not to wear longs. Ive left them open for a little while.

Ive done 15 rounds, taking 30 mins for a round now. Amazing how fast it grows lol.

My Tubs Teddy has arrived from Jenny Manly on FB. the hairy toys she makes.. hes beautiful and of course Red with black lol. I will take a photo later. but she has had him on FB.

Right I best get myself organised.

Have a fab day everyon

Well I got my plants planted and some lily bulbs put into a very large pot, but I did have a bit of a "bugger" moment:

https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/509467092.jpg

so looks like I will be buying a new fork. Grrrr! And this was supposed to be the "good" one, I ended up having to use the one that Mr K told me to be careful with because the handle was weak and needed replacing.

kuaka - 2016-09-03 12:14:00

I bought a new fork from the Warehouse for $20 yesterday on special until Tuesday. Solid and heavy too. I do exactly the same thing to forks with wooden handles!

kiwimade, I was only at the Warehouse yesterday and probably won't be there again for another couple of weeks - not really a bargain if I have to travel there specially, so it will have to wait, and in the meantime I'll just have to be careful with the one with the dodgy handle. I said to Paul this morning I really need to invest in a small shed, it would be cheaper in the long run than keep replacing tools that just rust away. Trouble will be finding somewhere to put the shed where it is handy and doesn't block my sea view. I am not going to have a shed in the way of my view, no way.

What about buying it online from the warehouse Kuaka.

I was looking at the junk mail online at lunchtime and noticed the good looking forks and spades.

I think its less than $10 for delivery, so that will save you a trip

What about those outdoor blanket storage boxes to keep the tools in.. You can use it as a bench on the deck even

popeye - that's some good ideas you've come up with - I need to do something, just not sure exactly what is the right way to go at the moment, I will figure it out eventually

kuaka - 2016-09-03 21:07:00
10381

morning ladies :) I like the idea of a outdoor storage box popeye, I think Mitre10 have them. I have a plastic three tier set of deep draws from the warehouse out in the garage and I keep all my small gardening tools in that. MrK uses the bottom draw for some of his smaller bits of timber. My fork, hoe and other taller tools stand beside the draws so I know where they are.

We spent yesterday with mrK's sisters going through some bits and pieces that belonged to their parents. So we came home with a few precious things we will need to sort through today. One of MrK's sisters found an embroidery piece their mum didn't finish before she passed away so today I'll have a look at it and see if I can get it finished at some stage. She was such an accomplished stitcher, will have to practise the stitches she used before I begin.

I crocheted one square yesterday lol, better than none!

Happy knitting :)

Morning
The mornings certainly are getting lighter so I seem to be waking up earlier unfortunately means I run out of steam earlier at the other end of the day lol.

It was so beautiful going up country yesterday, I really should make the effort more often as it is only about 40 minutes drive. Had a lovely chat and bit of a wander around looking at the animals.

Father's Day so church is putting on an event this pm for local dads, not sure what is involved but I've been roped into help so will go and see what's needed.

Will go out to the factory for a while this am and potter around sorting out bits and pieces which need organising, Yesterday we decided to move things around a bit to make it easier so need to keep on with this - all good fun!

Handwork seems to be taking a bit of a back seat at the moment. Oh well it will still be there waiting.

jayemtoo - 2016-09-04 07:59:00
10383

Morning everyone.
Very precious to have your MILS embroidery Kiwimade. I hope you manage to get it finished..

I have , well put away, a couple of pieces of Tatting and a bib my grandmother made for my father. And some lace from her wedding dress.. Very special to me. And a cross stitch bunch of pansies which she had framed for me. It wasn't long after that, when she passed away so its one of the first things that goes up when we move houses

I didn't do a lot of crochet yesterday.. Too busy bumming around town lol

Ive just done an order with Yarn paradise , their postage is a bit steep but when you can get 52 balls of wool for $25, but then pay double that for postage it still works out very cheap. Even MrP was happy with the price. So roughly $1-50 a ball. They have a sale on, I nearly didn't look at the email.. but glad I did.

Have a few things to get done today.. Cutting MrPs hair and claws for one and Missys claws for another lol.. Shes soo funny when I'm doing Mrps, she sits close incase I hurt him I think.

His legs are sooo good now.. I'm really so pleased that he didn't need to take the new antibiotics, cos they can damage kidneys and his are already bad.

A warm night, and not too bad now.. If it would stay this temp all year around Id be happy lol.

Have a fab day everyone

popeye333 - 2016-09-04 09:58:00
10384

morning ladies :) Well I had a look at the embroidery and yes, I can finish it but it will take lots of time as it's a tablecloth. Just hope there is enough thread for it as dye lots have changed over the years. I'll pick away at it as an 'inbetweener' or a summer craft. I usually do lighter stuff in the summer anyway.

I crocheted another two squares yesterday/evening so slowly slowly getting there.

Happy knitting :)

kiwimade64 - 2016-09-05 07:37:00

Morning ladies, another busy day yesterday, I'm pleased to report that so far my little plants are looking happy, fortunately the rain we've had so far has been light, and it hasn't been too windy or too sunny. It's very overcast and damp this morning.

Yesterday I reupholstered the seat of another chair, still have the back to do, they are a bit more fiddly and involve two seams on the sewing machine, and it needs to be a really tight fit to look any good, and getting it onto the back is a mission and a half and quite a struggle.

After lunch I went to the club to watch a snooker tournament as it's one that Mr K had won several times. As soon as I walked in one of the chaps came over and asked could I play one of my snooker tournaments tomorrow night at 6.30 and I could think of no reason not to, so wish me luck for tomorrow. Haven't had a chance to practise at all, but it will be fun. Best of 3 frames. Mike - who is my partner - is the one who persuaded me to enter, and when I said "nobody will want me as a partner" he assured me it's just a bit of fun. I bet he regretted persuading me when he drew me as a partner. Anyway we are playing against Mike's wife and another chap. They are all probably better than me, but Mike may be slightly better than the other chap so it could be an even match. We'll see.

Op shop this morning, so I had better get cracking.

Have a super day everyone.

kuaka - 2016-09-05 08:35:00

Morning
Lovely if you can complete the table cloth Kiwimade. I have a partially completed cloth of my mother's. She had just started to teach herself hardanger when she got sick, I have played with the idea of finishing it but don't want to mess it up and doubt I would get the same green cotton that she was using. It is quite special as it is.

Had a busy day yesterday, made pet litter all morning, the biggest machine decided to break down but fortunately BiL managed to improvise and get it going again, almost on top of the big order we've got to fill. Will be able to take it easier today and just potter along as we feel like it. Told BiL he had to have a sleep in today so won't be going out till late am.

Then pm went and helped with the bouncy castle, it was just for primary school kids and certainly not busy, the weather turned quite cold and started to rain mid pm so not many people came and we packed up as soon as it started to drizzle hoping to not have a wet castle to fold up but too late and it was very wet by the time we had it down, they are heavy brutes to manage at the best of times. Fortunately had a couple of younger men who did most of it.

Managed a bit of knitting in the evening then had a lovely phone call from a friend who I worked with many years ago, we have kept in touch at Chrstmas for years but seldom met as she lived mid Otago but they have just shifted to Taradale so is now really close.

Have a good day Everyone

Morning everyone
Windy here again but fine but not cold.

Had a quiet day yesterday. Got 5 squares done on the cot blanket and a few rounds on the single blanket.

MrP had a long sleep in the afternoon, so I turned the tv off and enjoyed the quiet.
His legs are nearly all healed. This cream is fantastic. I must ring and leave a message for our Dr.

Fingers crossed for your games tonight Kuaka. I used to love playing pool and snooker. I doubt my back would like it now tho. Havent played for about 12 years

I'm going to have a quiet day today

cuppa time lol. Good luck with your snooker tournament kuaka. I used to beat mrK at pool and snooker lol, not sure if he lost on purpose or not but a wins a win and I'll take it!

That's good news about MrP's legs popeye, such a relief for you both.

jayemtoo, if you are looking for threads, let me know as some of mine are old(ish) and maybe I have the shade you are looking for.

Bed is stripped and remade and sheets are just finishing in the washing machine. Have vacuumed and washed the kitchen floor, had mud from my gumboots everywhere. I have a Daphne shrub and a Chatham Island Forget me Knot to plant. Have missed my daphne and finally got round to buying another.

Should be able to craft for a bit later today.

Thanks Kiwimade but I think I will just leave it as it is. It seems quite symbolic being not quite finished and is then all her own work. Mum died at only 55 yrs old which seemed to me as quite old at the time now I am well past that age I realise how young she was.

Have fun with your tournament Kuaka.

Evening ladies, feeling quite chuffed tonight, my partner and I won two frames straight and we're through to the next round. I practised for a little while this afternoon at home, and played some really good shots (as well as some dopey ones) and when the time came at the club I did the same again, played some good ones and some not so good ones, but the scoreboard told the story and we won - it wasn't a whitewash, but it didn't have to be. One chap watching me play one of my better shots commented that "you were taught by the master" - true, but sadly I should have got him to teach me 10 or 15 years earlier. Maybe I would be quite good now if I'd done that. Never mind. So watch this space!

morning ladies :) fair enough jayemtoo, I think I would leave it as well.

Congratulations on the tournament so far kuaka, sounds like you're having fun. I think snooker and pool are those games where you have to keep practising or you loose the skills.

I need to buy more yarn for my blanket but that can wait until I am at Spotlight next. Might have a tutu with making some little Christmas stockings for the tree and use the red wool I dyed. MrK 'doesn't approve' of the red being knitted for our new grandson (8 weeks to go!) as he said it is 'too pink'. Nothing wrong with boys wearing pink!

happy knitting :)

Morning everyone

Well done on the games Kuaka.. everyone has silly shots now and then.

I would leave the table cloth too.. But if I had daughters and grand daughters I would do a little patch and then pass it along. It wont mater if it doesn't look perfect but it would have generations of stitching through the years.

I did 3 squares and quite a few rounds yesterday. Pleased with my efforts.

Have to pop up the road this morning, so will have a quick looky around here and rattle me daggs lol

Have a fab day all

Morning ladies, overcast and windy today, not cold though (at least it doesn't seem so - I won't know till I venture out). A bit of a slow start this morning. My off-sider for mah jong phoned this morning and she can't make it today so I'm going to do the money-grab. Not a problem.

I've just booked puss in for another stint at "club med for cats" as I'm planning to go to see a friend for a few days and can't leave puss on her own for that long. I haven't told puss yet, but she seemed to enjoy it last time, so shouldn't be any problems there.

I guess I had better get myself organised. I want to put clean sheets on my bed and do the washing, and shorten a pair of trousers, and have a snooker practise all before lunch, so better get off my bum and start doing.

Have a super day everyone.

morning ladies :) Ohhhh so you were the lady passing on the patterns sunflowers :) *Loud click!!* Thank you for that!

This has nothing to do with knitting but thought you would enjoy the pics. We were at Mt Maunganui Beach yesterday and a leopard seal had made himself (or her!) at home. DoC allowed us within 20 metres of it so I was able to get some good photos using my closeup lens.

This is my fav... almost like it is saying hi there!

And this one he/she changed direction and headed straight for me lol. He came quite close so I hoofed it back a bit more.

No crochet/knitting last night, was busy playing a Japanese game with our students, lots of laughs! They leave us this morning.

happy knitting :)

Morning
I do hope your Winz visit went ok Sunflowers, my Sister has had to deal with them at times for her husband and certainly finds them frustrating at times.
The photos are great Kiwimade made me smile at how relaxed he/she looked - "it's MY beach so you stay away" look they get.

Told BiL I was having a day off today, we have just filled a couple of bigger orders and I decided that he needs a rest and I need to do other things. Have first load of washing in - there are at least 2 more loads waiting.

Plan to go to supermarket, make a cake and this pm go and visit friend who has just moved here, then blob out with the knitting.
Think I should fit in cleaning the car as well as it is so dirty from going up country at the weekend. But first another cup of coffee and think about it lol.

Have a good day

Morning ladies, lovely pics of the seal kiwimade, I don't think I would want to get too close to them even if DoC did allow you closer.

Had a phone call yesterday from the chap who runs the market, he's not going to be there on Saturday so I can have his spot. So that's good. Hope for another good day, but of course, there's always the chance that I sit there and sell nothing at all. Fingers crossed that doesn't happen, but we will see.

Knit and natter this morning then I'm going to lunch with the "bunny club girls". Not quite as exciting as it sounds and we don't wear bunny ears and tails and are nothing to do with Hugh Heffner. It's a group of ladies started up by a lady by the name of Bunny, who go out for lunch together once a month, to qualify you have to be a widow, so whilst I'm going, I would prefer not to be eligible. I know several of the ladies who go, but I'm sure there will be some that I don't know, so an opportunity to meet new people.

Meantime I'm busy making more tea cosies for the market. I had a list of things I wanted to make before the next market, but I thought I had a month to do it in, so I won't get all of it done that's for sure. I am still booked for the one on 1st October so will try to get the list finished by then.

Plenty of other things to keep me busy so I had better make a start.

Have a super day everyone.

Morning everyone

Love the photos Kiwimade... We don't get sights like that often. One of the little beaches in South Taranaki thae we used to fish at had a resident seal. I called him Sammie and he was often there, a normal brown one. But it was nice to see him and he was generally left alone which is good.

Glad you are having a "Day" of rest Jayemtoo.. Not so restful as you have things to do, but I'm guessing your chose to have a day off so the brother in law does too.

Kuaka our Wool man goes to markets all around and he says it generally takes 3-4 markets in a row before people realise you are there regularly and suddenly your sales go up.

I did a few squares yesterday, but didn't do any on the larger blanket. I had a pain about where heartburn would be but it wasn't my heart. More like a sharp pain, it could have been one of my wires I think.

MrP is still in bed. he had a meltdown last night, or in my opinion a simple temper tantrum about his body. I know how frustrating it can be but I wont put up with that. he was ok after. but now I think hes just trying the sulks, so I'm up and will carry on, until he decides its time to get up.

Have a fab day everyone.

Good Morning Everyone. Overcast and cool,so be out in the garden this morning. Thanks for sharing the pictures of the seals at Mt Maunganui Beach brings back happy times. Some time since I have been there. Like you kiwimade we also did a lot of day trips there from Morrinsville.

Re-patterns that popeye passed on to kuaku and kiwimade they from www.bloglovin.com. It lists a number of sites that they think people would like to see.Good to see what happening in the arts and craft world.

Well, it was a very frustrating meeting at Winz yesterday. Just hope I don't have to deal with them for a while You could cut air between us. We went off and had a much-needed coffee and something to eat.

Our mower guy has arrived to mow the lawns and do some gardening. Going to re-landscape part of the back garden over the next few weeks. Everyone saying put it into a lawn,no way we like our veggie garden and flower gardens. We spend a lot of time outside in the backyard. Has a large silk tree for shade in the summer.

I better move have washing to hang out and some jobs around the place to do. Looking forward to doing some sewing or knitting later today.

Have a Happy Day Everyone.

morning ladies :) That's a shame about the WINZ person sunflowers, the superannuation man we deal with is just lovely, it's the rest of the staff who have a frosty outlook. I know they deal with some tough nuts but you would think it would be ok to smile.

We downsized our home and there was no vegie garden. We tried the big vegie plot but seeing as the kids had left home, it was pointless. So MrK built raised garden plots against the fence and we plant enough for us and maybe a few friends. Being raised it's easier to manage and we have the bonus of fresh veg. So maybe something like that sunflowers if the bigger garden is getting tough going. As for the flower garden, I don't care how big that is lol.

We're organising for a tree to come down sometime this week to make way for a fort/playground thingy for our grandkids. My sisters-in-law have bought a house together and don't need the fort. Perfect for us!

No crochet/knitting last night again as I didn't *gasp!* buy any yarn for the blanket. So today I'll pick up the table cloth I began crocheting at the beginning of autum. Only have a bit to do before it is finished but put it down to knit for the new babies in the family.

Happy knitting :)
