Morning ladies, a busy day yesterday. I had one of Mr K's guitars listed on fb before I went away (asking $130) and some chap came round, looked at it and said he could buy one like that for $50 on tm, so I told him that would be the best place for him to buy one then. Sold it to a lovely maori chap yesterday for his daughter, who looked thrilled to bits with it. We met in the supermarket carpark. When I was walking round getting my groceries this little girl (who had obviously been in the back of the car) said "thank you for the guitar". So sweet. He didn't quibble at the price.

Then my friend brought my mail up to me, several bills - grrrr - they don't stop coming just because you're away enjoying yourself. Then I went to mah jong. Discovered that the WOF on the car expired a couple of weeks ago and of course I can't use the Safari as it has flat batteries and won't start. Car is now booked in for a WOF Friday morning so fingers crossed.

Going to knitting this morning, not sure what I will take to do but I will find something.

Blowing a gale here and it did in the night too. Puss had me up at 2 growling so I put the outside light on and there was a big ginger cat on our deck. I chased it away. She doesn't need any stress right now.

morning ladies :) I'm back from having my cuddles. Awesome our grandy is beginning to recognise us more and more.

didn't get much knitting done last night, so will have a good go at it again today.

We had a huge storm pass us last night too, was dreading driving home in it but it was well and truly over by the time I left after breakfast.

morning ladies :) I spent a lot of time playing with the Furry One yesterday. He's back to his usual crazy self and even jumped on the bed yesterday. Such a relief!

Still plodding away on this cardy, shouldn't take too much longer to finish. I found an aran pattern to knit this blue wool a friend gave me for our new grandson (yes, it's going to be a boy!) due November. So I have the next knitting 'project' lined up. Must buy some more triple knit to finish the cot blanket for my great niece due next month.

Sooo pleased to hear the Furry one is back to normal.. I bet hes relieved too.

Congrats on the Boy Kiwimade. My friend is having a boy on dec 4th .I started a blanket yesterday. I'm pushed for yarn (imagine that) lol.. I should say for Blue yarn. Ive decided to use the straight rows as a middle panel just to make it different

Woke up sore as this morning, I hate having to hit the pain killers first thing. But its also shopping day so I need to be able to move

Right the sooner I get done the sooner I can leave and be home, without being rushed at lunchtime lol

Must have felt good writing "grandson" Kiwimade, lovely to have one of each and so much easier for the knitters to know in advance. It is becoming fashionable not to know what gender the baby is going to be beforehand but then want to dress them gender specific, in the past when you could not know before birth all babies wore much the same for first months.
Did a pile of boy things for niece to take back to Italy, her baby is due in November too.
Sister home this am so she can keep an eye on her hubby again, gosh some men can be a handful, they certainly don't think as sensibly as a woman hehe!
Washing out on line but overcast so doubt there will be much drying but it can stay there for now. Better do a bit of housework today then can relax I hope.

It sure did feel good to write 'grandson' and we're thrilled to bits to have one of each. It wouldn't matter either way but it is nice to be able to knit for a girl and a boy.

lol jayemtoo, I think guys are wired differently, they certainly think differently!

Daughter gave me two big boxes of clothes for our new great niece so I must get those to my nephew and his partner. Some were brand new and never worn as they were either the wrong size or our grandy was 'out of season' for them. Perfect though for this new baby. I love how we can share things like this around, it certainly helps new parents that's for sure.

Will finish this cuppa then I'm off to town. I need some triple knit for this blanket, and yep, this time it is a need if I am to finish it as I don't usually knit/crochet the chunkier wools.

Afternoon ladies, how exciting kiwimade! One of each - or a "pigeon pair" as my two were referred to once. I was also told that because I had one of each I didn't need to bother with a third one.

Busy morning, I've been tidying up and sorting things out but looking at the state of the place you wouldn't think so. I often find that sorting things out tends to leave the place in a mess. I've been going through my wardrobe and the china cupboard and sorted out some things I no longer need so they can go to the op shop. Was going to put the curtain tie-backs in the bedroom but I can't get the screwdriver bit to undo out of the drill, so I can't put a drill bit in. Grrrr! It's just making clicking noises so I'm charging the battery in the hope that it's being stubborn because the battery isn't fully charged. I'll curse if that doesn't fix it.

Was a beautiful still morning at 9am and I thought about rowing out to the boat, but by 10 it was blowing a gale and threatening to rain, so flagged that idea. Can't go tomorrow as the car has to go in for a WOF. Saturday I believe the weather is supposed to be rubbish. Oh well. I'll go when I can.

Going to sit and do some knitting for a while, then I might do a bit more sorting.

Have been busy dyeing some more wool to finish the cot blanket (fingers crossed no rain!) so the whole blanket will be made with hand dyed wool.

Afternoon, Ladies, A busy couple of days. Collected 4 60lt bins of fabric from a business that was moving into a smaller place. She missed a couple of markets and did not want to move them. I will sew some table runners and place mats,bags,cushions etc. A group of us are planning to have a fair in Sept.
Mr S is taking a lot of my time at present.Now has a walker which makes it easier for both of us. His legs are still giving out on and hit the floor a number of times. He can put himself up most times.

Went out to an open at a local gallery last night. Good to see what coming out of our Polytec these days.Couple friends had art on display.Good catch up for us.
Yes, I have been doing some knitting as well,fingerless gloves are finished. Sew then up tonight. looking forward to K & N this Friday.

Kiwimade so pleased to hear your Furry one is enjoying life again.Can see you out with the needles busy knitting away for your new grandson.Hope all going well for your daughter.

Time to moved and do some work. Mr S got himself up and dressed this morning, so I am having a very late start today.Much needed may I add.

morning ladies :) Well the Furry One jumped back onto the bed after his breakfast this morning to wake MrK just like he usually did so big smiles here from both of us.

I've knitted both fronts and a sleeve and dyed some more wool for the cot blanket. Managed to get the wool dry under the heat pump over night so will wind it into balls today.

MrK is going to make me a wooden niddy-noddy :) Found a pic online and asked him to make one, no worries he said... wonder if he can make me a smaller one for 4ply as well. Now all I need is a wool winder and I will be set.

Great that Furry one is ok again, jealous re niddy-noddy I use my knees which seems to work ok as long as I don't have to move part through.

All that material will keep you busy for a while Sunflower.

Moving day no idea what time the truck is coming but it is a white frost out so I'm in no hurry to rush over to sister's place just yet lol.

Had a lovely knitting evening yesterday so could see the front growing.

Soo pleased to hear the furry one is back to normal, a worrying time.

Your dyed wool is lovely Kiwimade. You can buy winders on here. I don't know what the quality is like.. But also look out for people selling old knitting machines, sometimes they include those.

At least with a frost Jayemtoo, it will be a nice day to move on..

Theres finally no wind... Grey out tho.

Right I didn't crochet at all yesterday so will get back to that once Ive been on here for a bit/

MrK had a great idea, rather than make me two niddy noddies, he will make it so I can take the centre rod out and replace it with a smaller rod for the smaller ply. Knew I married him for a reason! He did say if there was interest in it, he can make more for me to sell here.

Housework done and the Furry One is back in fine form chasing and protecting me from the vacuum cleaner, leaping on the bed as I make it, bashing me with his tug rope to play, barking at the stock truck... so good to have his personality back.

No wind here too popeye but omg it's cold.

Time to wind the now pink wool and get this cot blanket finished. Thanks for the kind comments on it, I used a big splash of pink food colouring in a big stock pot of water. Will have a look on here for winders, they aren't cheap are they.

Morning ladies - just - I had an early start this morning as I had to take the car in for it's WOF which expired while I was away. Wouldn't have been a problem really except that the Safari has flat batteries and won't start till I've charged them both so I had no choice but to use the car, and I don't like using it with no WOF. Luckily it got one okay.

Then I nipped to the supermarket to get a few bits and exchange the bottle of conditioner I bought on Tuesday when it was shampoo I wanted. Wish they would put the writing in bigger letters.

No other news here, might go and do a wee bit of gardening. I believe we are going to have some rain either later today or tomorrow, and the weeds are taking over. Not that I feel like gardening, rather sit and knit, but sometimes you have to do things you don't really want to do.

Better get moving or it will be time for lunch and I won't have done anything.

morning ladies :) Was a warm night last night, we tossed the duvet off. Haven't done that for a while.

No knitting done but I have crocheted one skein of the pink wool and onto the other now. I will need more wool though, these C2C blankets certainly gobble the wool. The pink certainly is bright lol but looks pretty. My dyeing is a bit uneven but I like it that way, adds interest to the colour I think.

Warmish here too overnight but Still slept well. That is the beauty of self dyed wools Kiwimade they are unique, mine are always "patchy" but look good when knitted.

Finished Cleaning most of the moved out of house yesterday - it is a biggish 2 storied place, I'm off there again soon to finish off so that the carpets can be done. At least the house they have moved into is all on one level. We lived in a very big 2 storied house as a child now I can fully understand my mum's pleasure when we moved To a place with no stairs.

Up to the neck shaping on the poncho - I am adapting another pattern so hope it works out ok, I will make it a double band this time I only did it single on the other poncho and don't really like it so will change that too if this one looks better.

Morning everyone.
Late I know lol.. But they oppy had a closing down sale. I managed to get a banana box full of Tupperware, was free. and a stack of those plastic shelves.. That was $2 but I gave them $5 for the lot.
Went to another garage sale, nothing there , got some sausages from the butcher as a taste test. he doesn't do luncheon, which I find is strange.

Got a fair bit done on the blanket yesterday. Its looking nice, even if I say so myself lol. Should finish the stripes and get to the border tonight I think.

heart was racing this morning, first time since my med increase. Missy kept putting her face in mine, so she knows its happening. Which is good.

Back is back to its normal.. Yayay.

Wet but by no means cold. I'm in a sleeveless top. went out in it too lol..

morning ladies :) I've started knitting the yolk to the cardy so should get it finished or close to finishing today. As I suspected, I need more wool for the C2C blanket so will have to source some more white.

I think it is going to be a craft type day today, weather looks pretty bleak out there. The storm we had over night was huge but it's still warm.

Think spring has arrived (wishful thinking!) it is very mild and beautifully sunny at the moment although a bit windy.
Had a very busy day yesterday but finished emptying and cleaning the house just a load of stuff for the dump and a bit outside to do and then they can hand in the keys - a lovely feeling of accomplishment when we could shut up each room as "finished".

Finished front of second poncho now just need to do the neck band and redo the one on the smaller one but that will take a bit more concentration so picked up a little top I was making before starting the ponchos, also have a pair of socks on the go to finish as well before starting something else.

Morning everyone
Wow it was a rough night. Wind rain and lightening, but I didn't hear any thunder which is odd. Warm here too.

Kiwimade I saw some white naked wool either on here or FB. Wasn't a bad price either.

Jayemtoo it must be good knowing the move is done. There are always people moving around here. Wouldn't be a week that we don't see at least one or two moving. Mind you prices have gone crazy here so understandable.

I finished the middle piece of the blanket. Its long and skinny. Not totally happy with it. So I'm going to do a few stripes on the sides to widen it and then do a couple of rounds in the dark blue to finish it.

I need to tidy my table in the office again.. Its my dumping spot when I'm being lazy, instead of putting away I put down. Yet I don't do that in the rest of the house lol.

Morning ladies, yes, the weather here is mild, sunny now (it chucked it down during the night) and windy, so going out to the boat isn't an option today. Pity as the tide is right.

I have a sewing job to do for someone and one I want to do for myself, then I want to make an owl tea cosy to send to my step-daughter, she loves owls I found out when I was there. I don't know if she has a teapot, I didn't see one and didn't like to ask or nose around, but I'm sure she can buy one to fit the cosy.

Then I want to set up the new tv which I bought yesterday. Only a 32" one, although the room is big I don't have much wall space and anything bigger will protrude into the dining room or over the bi-fold and I don't want that. I intend to upgrade later to a smart tv and will then put this one in the bedroom, but meantime it will be better than the old 24" one I've got at the moment. Hope I can get it set up with the freeview box etc and not stuff it up.

I got a bit carried away last night with the puzzle ball I was crocheting and when I went to join one of the "chains of four lids" to four wedges, I discovered I'd actually done a "chain of five lids". Course I didn't realise till I was joining the third wedge and instead of just having one lid left I had two. Grrrr. I cut the surplus one off close and unravelled a bit and then sewed the end in. I wasn't going to unravel all my joining efforts.

Oh buggar kuaka lol, if it is any 'help', I stitched the fronts to this cardy the wrong way round and somehow the sleeves ended up attached to each other. Was definitely a blond few minutes then! Once I had it all sorted, knitted all the bands and now only need buttons. I'll take a pic when buttons are on and it has been blocked lightly. Considering it is a tripleknit pattern and I used doubleknit, it came out all right. I'll measure it chestwise and see what difference there is compared to the pattern.

I need to buy some threaded inserts for mrk to finish my niddy noddy so will be going into town shortly to buy those. The sooner he has them, the sooner I have my niddy noddy!

Am going to start knitting for our grandson, think granddaughter and great-niece have had more than their 'fair share' for a while. He has stacks of baby clothes already so will knit for next winter.

Another wild night of weather. And the Most Impressive thunder roll Ive ever heard. It rumbles crashed and rolled for Ages.. Love wild weather lol.

Not cold tho.

I see we are all having Blonde Moments lol.. Heres me thinking Ill have to add some squares or srtipes to widen this blanket lol... when all I had to do was another complete panel of the rows id already done lol... I have 5 rows of that left to do, then Ill be happy with the width. And then Ill check the yarn situation to see how many rounds of a border I can do.

Maybe its cos we have been watching soo much TV and my mind was elsewhere lol. But we are making a good dent in the recordings. The only series left to get through is the Dickensians. We have only watched the first episode and that was when it aired.

Made an appointment for my ECG tomorrow. Hate paying down here for it, but if we went up to the super clinic it would be cheaper but I'm more likely to want to have lunch out and maybe do some oppies, so its better here this time.

Morning ladies, well setting up the new tv turned out to be a bit of a nightmare, I could only get one channel and everything else said "no signal". My friend asked how I was getting on and I said I wasn't so she dragged her hubby along and he did it for me, so now it's working perfectly. Meantime I had lifted a big old tv off a cabinet down in the billiard room and lugged the cabinet upstairs (came up the garden steps and nearly slipped a over h - so plan to water blast the steps today) then I lifted the old tv off the cabinet in the family room, moved that cabinet and put the one from downstairs in it's place, now I have to put the tv somewhere as it's just sitting on the floor in the family room and it's too heavy for me to lug downstairs. Needless to say I've got a sore back today.

I didn't get my sewing done yesterday so must do that today, but I did put clean sheets on my bed, and made Pauls bed ready for his next visit whenever that will be, and did some washing.

I've started an owl tea cosy for Virginia, just done the eyes so far. No hurry. She doesn't know she's getting it.

The little cardy is lively Kiwimade (saw it on FB) Maddy will be the best dressed little girl at kindy.
Love the blanket Popeye, crocheting is certainly quicker than knitting but not tempted to take it up I much prefer knitting. Looking forward to seeing the rainbow one.

Finished the ponchos last evening just have to darn in a few ends and get the buttons. Will finish off the socks now and probably do a pair or two more while thinking what next.

Off to Mainly music this am, seems ages since I went there what with travel and holidays. The church where it is held has put in a new kitchen so will be interesting see how that works for a crowd, know they have a sanitiser which is something I was pushing for.

morning ladies :) Thanks jayemtoo, it will be posted off this morning. I think there are still enough chilly days in the year left to be wearing a cardy. A 'public' kitchen like the one at a church needs a sanitiser, so good they put one in.

I love the blues in your blanket popeye, it's all a learning curve though when it comes to sizes.

Grocery shopping today and the Furry One needs a new collar so we can attach his new registration tag. His old collar needs to be cut off as we can't get the buckle undone.

Better finish this coffee and get moving.

Thanks for the comments. I must remember to take a photo on my phone. My dr loves to see what Ive been making.

Kiwimade you made blankets for the single beds, can you remember roughly how much yarn they took? or are you able to weigh them. ? Just when you have time no rush.
My friend is thinking of getting them for all the family lol.

Ive come up with an easier for me, way of remembering the Rainbow.

Ill always remember red at the top, cos its my fave colour.

So, Red from Orange is Yellow... Yellow from Green is Blue, and the indigo and Violet is at the Very bottom .. Makes much more sense in my mind.

Off to have my ecg this morning. And take a pile of papers to the oppy.

Then I will probably start my rainbow blanket.

ummm... I know it took heaps of wool popeye. I crocheted a C2C for both single beds and they took a good 4 kilos at least from memory. I have no way of weighing them, sorry. If you crocheted plain granny squares it may take less wool. They would be quite expensive to make if you were buying the wool specifically for the blanket, I was using my stash to make them and topped them up with some new balls of wool when I began to run short (as I don't like big stashes, no storage here).

Ill be doing them in acrylic, if she can handle the costs.

Ill weigh both my blankets here, and downsize one for a single and upsize from my queen to a king.

She said I can decide what ever design I want. But Ill make sure they are all different.

I haven't started a rainbow one yet. I was playing in the spare room instead lol

I got a wooden box from the oppy this morning, its like an oversized pencil case. I thought would be great for my ribbons. But A = they don't all fit and B= they have to lay down which means farting around going through each one. and I like things that are convenient to use.

I'm sure Ill find a use tho.

ECG went well once we got the machine working properly, and I'm in the middle of the range for my Flecanide, Yay so the extra med is doing its job.

Dr is happy with it all

Afternoon ladies. kiwimade and popeye, if you think the c2c blankets use a lot of wool, you should try the "wool-eater" blanket pattern. That really does gobble it up.

After the torrential rain this morning it turned out a beautiful day. I should have gone out to the boat but by the time the tide was right the wind was a bit too strong. Never mind, I will get out there at the first opportunity.

Now I just have to decide what to have for tea tonight and get on and cook it.

I don't like my chances of getting much crochet done tonight as I woke at 3am and couldn't get back to sleep, so it's quite likely I will nod off in the chair. Not to worry.

morning ladies :) Good your ECG was clear popeye, as well as your meds.

I haven't tried that wool eater pattern yet, one day I will though.

MrK finished my niddy-noddy after a couple of attempts to get the length right. Just love it, he made it out of recycled rimu and polished it with Danish oil so it is lovely and smooth for my hands and the wool. I've been using it and can get quite a bit of speed up now lol. It sure beats winding wool over the back of the chair, my back is loving me for it.

We have a quick visit to the vet this morning with the Furry One, she wants to check and make sure all is good with his new meds. Will get her to check his ears as well as he is scratching them. Looks like his 'spring itch' is back. We have never had a dog (or cat) have so many vet visits as this one.

Can we see the Niddy Noddy Kiwimade? yes hanging over a chair winding wool is hard on the back eh.

My wrist is telling me Ive had my break and best get back to some crochet. so I'm going to have a wee nosey at some more pictures and then start the rainbow.

I didn't do anything last night but yawn lol.. went to bed early so I could still read for an hour and the light was out before 10.

Kiwimade have you ever resorted to taking two antihistamines in a day?. I should have asked the dr yesterday but I hadn't planned on seeing her. I just wondered if it would help prevent hives.

Those crochet blankets sure use up the wool buy would be toasty warm.
Hope the vet visit goes ok Kiwimade the poor Furry One has had enough already.

Lovely day here so just finished a load of washing now have to hang it then to a bit of house work before going out to BiLs factory for a while. Ive got visitors this weekend so we need to get a bit ahead with making the product but with these lovely days it is really quite pleasant as the factory is out in the country - lovely and quiet and sheep for company.

yes I have taken two antihistamines a day popeye, sometimes I have no choice. And it works for a while, then I have to find something else to take.

Well the Furry One needs to find a paying job to pay his vet bills lol. We are $484 lighter now. This new medication he is on is still so new he is only the third dog from the clinic to use it. So the vet was really interested to know about the side effects so she can prewarn other owners. We have a plan in place to manage his ear infections and it will be another vet visit in 10 days time.

I'll take a pic of the niddy noddy, was waiting for some better light, and will post it here for you to see. I think MrK may have to make the centre 'rod' a tad longer for me, will see how I go.

Glad to hear the furry one is doing well and it makes you feel good knowing that someone else will benefit from your experiences from the med.
That's how I feel about learning about the Flecanide levels.

I might try an extra antihistamine at night time. The hives normally show uo about an hour or so after my other meds, so if taken at the same time it may help.

Have started a trial patch of rows of 3 trebles. All going ok but I need to check I have the right amounts at the ends of the rows. But it looks like Ill be doing that for a change

have a look on You Tube popeye, there are some great tutorials on how to use it.

And it could be worth a try taking an extra antihistamine. If nothing else, it may just knock you out and you sleep!

We're having a scheduled power cut this morning if the weather is nice. The power people are replacing some of the cross bars on some power poles. So I need to blat round early with the vacuum cleaner and clean the bathroom . Our next group of students arrive at lunchtime tomorrow so earlier than most.

I'm knitting for charity at the moment, want to take a stash of beanies and booties with me to the maternity hospital when our daughter has baby. My great niece is due any day now so we're all getting pretty excited.

Morning everyone
Well the hives didn't alter last night and are not itchy at the mo. I also use calamine lotion on them, but don't like to go out with great white patches on my arms lol

Dark and wet here. MrP says he is coming shopping so it will be interesting if he actually does. Havent got much to do so it shouldn't be too bad.

I sewed up and added ribbon to a pair of booties Id knitted goodness knows when lol.. last night so will add them to the blanket and will get a toy of some sort too.
