Off to the superclinic this morning for MrP to see the anaesthetist and me to have me Bits squashed. Nice to be able to have both appointments on one trip.
Ive got my crochet to take with me, cos there will be some waiting inbetween.

MrP has offered to use his birthday money for lunch, but we should be home by then. Or nearly lol.

morning ladies :) Another busy day here, the mechanics fixed the heater in our car so we had their courtesy car overnight. Will pay a few bills (like register our car) on the way into swapping the vehicles over and replace the petrol I used yesterday. Then we are off to Hamilton, MrK is fixing my nephew's gate and we have some grapefruit to pick up from a friend. Will grocery shop as well and pop into Spotlight. Tomorrow we are babysitting our granddaughter for the morning as our daughter has an appointment so a busy few days for us. My friend's painting is done and my body knows I've been up and down ladders and painted ceilings!

I've started crocheting another C2C blanket using the tripleknit wool I dyed and unpicked the cardigan with the cable neckline to use that as well. This will be a cot blanket for my great niece and will use up wool I otherwise wouldn't use. I will definitely be knitting that cardy again though, might try it in doubleknit next time.

Had a good run in the factory yesterday, even managed to sort it out a bit and put things in more organised places - anyway it seems more logical to me where I have put them!
Out there again today as we need to catch up with supplies what with shifting and me being away we virtually ran out but the orders continued which is what we want of course.

Had a happy evening with the knitting so back of poncho is growing nicely. If it turns out ok I'll be making some for the other little girls.

The roof over the road is very white so must be a good frost out there, I'll stay put a bit longer although washing is finished - I put it in when went for first coffee - but it can wait to be hung out until frost gone or fingers will freeze off lol.

Have a few messages to do this am then think it will be house packing, we have a couple of weeks yet so no rush and can do bits when feel like it.

Finished back of poncho now onto front, not sure of length though but can add more as haven't cast off back as want to do a 3 needle cast off on shoulders.

morning ladies :) I saw the posts carole and the rules in the FB group are very clear about selling, it's a group for sharing ideas and projects . I'm sorry you feel this way about it (I'm not an admin either) but maybe you could have done it through private messaging.

We're off out and about today babysitting our grandy while our daughter sees to an appointment. Much easier to do without a toddler and we are more than happy to do the grandparent thing. I'll take my crocheting although I doubt I will do any, our little one is pretty full on! I'll be back again next week to babysit and will be staying the night next time.

Went supermarket shopping with mrK yesterday, one of the most frustrating moments of the day lol. But we muddled through and survived. Our car is back with the repairs done, now we wait for the bill.

Morning everyone, chilly here but very grey.

Sorry you feel upset Carole, but the rules are there for a reason. quite clearly.

I said to MrP it looks like the lemon tree is raising its arms now a huge load has been taken off them. Ive put a bin of them at the mail box for a couple of days and they have all gone. So the tree is sighing of relief lol. They would have just rotted if we had to get through them.
Picked some mandarins,, ohh so yummy. And theres quite a few more to have. First year for a small crop.

Did a bit of crochet while we were waiting yesterday.. not that we had to wait long. we were walking out after having bot appointments done, 10 mins before MrPs one was due. Pays to be early ...

I have to go to my gp today and report back about my heart. 4 day of no racing Yayay. So need to get a blood test form to check the level of this med. I reckon it will be heaps better cos its working ...

Have to ring the electrical store this tv is starting do do the flicky broken picture thing when we first turn it on. Like the last one. MrP is not happy.

Ill take my crochet with me this morning.

Have got a nice piece of corned beef in the crockpot. Its cheap at PnS so I got two pieces yesterday.

Got 150 grams acrylic and 200 grams crepe wool from an oppy yesterday for the grand sum of $5. The crepe (which I love) is a rich peacock blue. Ive been collecting crepe wool for years.. It might end up in a blanket one day.

Morning ladies, finally made it to Brisbane on Sunday - we drove all the way in one day and only had one stop on the way. It sure is a long drive. Lovely to finally meet Mr K's eldest daughter and she is lovely. We've had some really long chats and there's been lots of laughter and a few tears.

Paul drives back today and I am booked to fly out on Monday.

I haven't done anything much in the way of touristy things but just relaxed and enjoyed spending time with the family. Both Paul and his sister have invited me back to have Christmas with them. It's something to think about but I might just stay home.

Hope everyone is well.

Possibly won't be on here again till I get home as I am using Paul's phone for the Internet and both Virginia and her son have very small data allowances on theirs and I don't want to chew it up for them.

morning ladies :) Lovely to hear from you kuaka and fantastic you met MrK's daughter.

Good on you popeye for giving the lemons away. We see so much fruit just rotting on the ground when it could be given away. I know we certainly missed our lemons when we moved here and a lemon tree was the first tree we planted. We have our first crop this year.

We were home 10 minutes from babysitting and the Furry One had a massive seizure so it was a mad dash to the vet. He's back on epilepsy meds for life now. Then when home, he had another two, each one worse than the other. It took a couple of hours for the meds to work but so far, no more. Our poor boy, he was so confused and muddled. He's all perky this morning but still staying close by. On the plus side at least his first seizure happened during 'office hours' (this is what MrK said!!) so no extra call-out fee for the vet!

I'm beavering away on this cot blanket for my new great niece - it's a race against time as this baby more than likely will be early. Thank goodness it's crochet as I can crochet faster than knit.

Sunny here which is nice as I had expected rain. Cleaned one room at Sisters place, it is a biggish house so have decided to clean a room as we empty it then shut it up and woe betide anyone who goes in again lol. We will do the carpets though last thing as big furniture won't be going for another week, by then sister will be back.

Happily knitting the front of the poncho the cables on the front seem to be slightly longer than on the back but who sees both front and back at the same time on an active pre schooler anyway, so will leave them like that as would mean frogging quite a bit if knitting!

Good to hear you are enjoying your time with Mr K family.Yes,its is a long road trip to Brisbane. Hope you have a good flight home next Monday.

350g for $5. is a good buy. I brought 100g of acrylic for a teapot cosy for $ 3.50 it is a soft yarn. Still in my knitting bag waiting. to be knitted up.
.Have pulled my finger less gloves undone a couple of times. Could not get the thumb gusset right.. Need to have a look around u-tube sometime.
In the mean time I am knitting them without thumb gusset.

Mr S, has not been very good since he came home Tuesday.Yes two falls on Tuesday as he walked around outside.Never went outside from the rest home at all during his stay. Was pushed around in a wheelchair. Asked why and reply was we do not want a fail on our watch. More likely did not want to do the paperwork if he did fail.. err
Best I get my B into gear now as I have a load of firewood coming this afternoon to put away.

We have had plenty of rain and wind overnight. but there is blue sky and the sun is peeping through now.

Poor Furry one and his parents, it must be scary. Is it something that comes with age Kiwimade?

Glad you have met your eldest Step daughter Kuaka. nice to know theres two nice ones in the family. Just a pity the witches couldn't live in Aussie and Paul and the other one in NZ.

I reckon your handling the move the best way Jayemtoo. no one will be totally worn out at the end, no mad rush.

I had another night without racing Yayay. told my gp about the test for Flecanide and she didn't know either. But she has 3 other on the same med so was going to put notes on their files too...

I have just the last row of the chair thingee. And that's done. Ive got some very fine 2 ply that I was knitting into a scarf. I think Ill crochet one instead. It will get finished that way and no extra pain lol.

Shopping this morning and then Ill be back to my hook

oh dam sunflowers about the falls, they would shake his confidence too. I saw on the news the other night ACC are going to be investing $13million on the aged and falls. There is a group in ChCh who go round helping older folk to manage in their homes and to keep active. Hopefully something like that is near you and you can tap into it.

Popeye, doggy epilepsy happens to about 5% of dogs according to the vet and the info she gave us. Usually in dogs aged between 1 and 5 years old. Our boy was four when he started seizing last year so was within the range. Just one of those things like it is with people and it is managed in pretty much the same way. We thought though because his med dosage was so low he could manage without it and with the vets help, we weaned him off it. The vet said one seizure a year isn't to be worried about but three every half hour means definitely a lifetime of meds. It's close to $70 a month for his meds, just as well we love the little bu****!!

Getting cold outside now, that wind is freezing. Will do some crocheting after lunch.

Thanks Kiwimade, I didn't know anything about epilepsy in dogs. Poor boy. But yes as we love them we pay what he have to. It would be unsettling for him and you.

Have done the shopping and soo pleased I out the car in the garage straight away, cos we had a very heavy shower not long after.

Morning ladies :) Well the Furry One was extra extra hyper yesterday afternoon after the vet gave him valium, yep, valium. As if a jack Russell could be anymore hyper! He had another major seizure late afternoon and another one at 3.12am. Now he is pacing round and round the house as if he doesn't know where he is. Will call the vet soon as he is shaking constantly (far more than JRs normally do). And we have the Fluffy One visiting for the weekend as well. I am hoping she can calm him down as they are best mates. We have no other choice but to have the Fluffy One as my sister and dad are both away. She is happy with us and treats our home as her own. Anyhoo we'll muddle through as we do.

I'm still beavering away on this C2C blanket, hope to make it 140cm x 150cm with an edging of some sort.

Right-o, better get organised in case it's another dash to the vet shortly.

Oh Kiwimade the poor boy. I guess its a case of trying different meds to get him sorted. Hopefully having his best friend there will help.

A lot of wind and rain overnight. Still windy here but blue sky at the mo.

I have to go up and do some banking I didn't do yesterday.

Then I'm going to have to decide what to make next. My fingers are wrist are aching from no use. And I kept nodding off watching tv last night.. I hate doing that.

well the pacing turned to running and he's been running pretty much non stop now for two and a half hours. The vet said this is a side effect of the meds and will stop after a 'day or two'. He's slowing down now and hopefully will settle. Just need to vacuum the floor then I will go and collect the Fluffy One.

Finished the poncho but it looks a bit small so that can go to a small great niece and have started a bit bigger one. Only have 2 balls of wool and can't get to the shop till Monday but at least can make a start over the weekend.

morning ladies :) well the Furry One had another big seizure yesterday afternoon, then didn't settle until after 10.00pm, slept for a bit, up at midnight pacing the floor until the wee hours. We are going to tell our vet on Monday we want him on his old meds, he's loosing confidence and isn't our usual perky, full on dog. We want our 'old' dog back!

I started knitting the cardy with the cable neckline in doubleknit last night. Went up a couple of sizes and used 3.50mm needles for the band and 4.00mm for the rest. Seems to be working out so far, haven't done much too preoccupied with the Furry One. To me, it looks nicer in a doubleknit too.

I have wound some 5ply (I think it is 5ply) into a hank ready for dyeing. Not sure what colour yet but it will be soft baby colours and I will knit a beanie or two for charity from it. Want to have a supply to donate for when our daughter has her baby.

Morning everyone
We had an interesting evening. The new neighbours started moving in, in the pouring rain too the poor buggers.. Then we get this soft knock on the door. The power had been turned off at the pole. They had no power what so ever. So thankfully they got hold of some long leads and we plugged it in our garage. Poor things, they were most apologetic, but I said that wasn't their fault. About an hour and a bit later they came back, The power co had been out and turned them on again. We wont forget their arrival that's for sure. Nice youngish couple. Very polite and they have a little one.

Id do the same Kiwimade, re the old meds, this sounds just too hard for your poor boy.

Ohh Jayemtoo its a bit disappointing when something turns out too small, but at least you have someone who will fit it.

I think my "block" as to what to crochet now is cos I got some wool I wanted to Knit a blanket in, and I cant, but my mind wont get past it. Maybe today Ill find something

Morning all - beautiful morning bit chilly though- have finished grandaughters socks - very pleased with them - camera is flat will get the old boy to model them and pop a photo up - he has finally accepted he needs oxygen practically 24 hours and ix a lot more comfortable - but my poor old Mum after coming through the gall bladder op had thrush down her throat and is struggling to eat - is a little tiny 98 year old walks perfectly upright and prior to the op could still get on a horse unaided - the hospital decided that instead of releasing her into the care of my sister who was a nurse they would set up a plan with the rest home - second night I went out around meal time - her plate was a lovely looking stew and vegies - not the special diet of sloppy stuff we had agreed to pay extra for - if I hadn't gone out she would have gone hungry - can't blame the staff they do their best - management are quick to charge extra - my son took bulk special diet stuff out to the home - there is enough of it out there now every resident who needs it won't go without - the chef was delighted - son was able to buy it wholesale -
Better get cracking my hair is looking awful - hope i can get an appointment somewher

your poor neighbours popeye, we have had pole fuses go and it really is frustrating, like having your power at half strength and some power points not even working. Hope they managed to get their furniture and stuff in without getting too wet.

I also like keeping my hands busy, you saying it keeps the out of the chippie packet is so true popeye.

Gerry, it is just as well you visited at meal time, it could have been a week before you found out! Just shows it pays to visit at different times of the day. Well done your son for finding the food wholesale. I'm still gobsmacked your mum could still get onto a horse unaided aged 98!

Its really weird but the three families who are all related so we have been told. we have never seen any of them move furniture in. I wonder if they are sleeping on mattresses on the floor.

Sunny here today with only a couple of showers but still no furniture arriving.

I had to chase the hospital up for food for MrP... And mum to a certain extent. Mind you by the time I took everything in that she asked for it was like she had a pantry full anyway lol.

I was going to cut MrPs hair and fingernails today but he didn't out of bed till just after 11 so that's delayed. This time on the comp is my time. Tomorrow will do. Its not like the queen is visiting today lol.

Gerry I love that your mum is still so capable of doing things at her age. we have a 107 yr old here and she still lives alone and does everything for herself. Although I see she uses a walker now. but that's very recent.

Right a wee nosey around on here and then Ill have to find something to do

My mum walked every chance she could as far back as I can remember - we would go on a family picnic to a local river half an hour from home - she would swim and play with us then set up a picnic tea for dad and us kids - grab a couple of apples and walk home - up until she was well into her 80s she walked from her Onekawa home into the Napier city centre until some little mongrels pinched her purse one day - she ate great plates full of vegies unfortunately all us girls didn't follow her lead - my Dad died in his 60s and up until 2 months ago she cared fo herself - never drove - her cooking was to die for - when I get the camera cracking will show her WIP crochet tin

I thought when I read your post popeye, your neighbours were probably waiting for a break in the weather. Nothing worse than moving on a wet day.

The Furry One had a good nights sleep, except for vomiting and pacing in the wee hours for an hour. MrK cleaned up the mess (told him that was payback for me cleaning up after vomiting kids lol) as I slept through it all. So far so good this morning, he has used the doggy door for the first time in three days and is playing with the Fluffy One for the first time. Such a relief. I'm sorry I went on and on about it here, I'm paranoid about epilepsy meds after we nearly lost our daughter to her epilepsy med allergies.

The cardigan I'm knitting seems to be coming along OK in spite of it being knitted in double knitting rather than triple. I found a place to buy hanks of wool on the way home from babysitting our granddaughter so will buy more white wool to dye and finish the C2C blanket. So two things on the go for me at the moment.

it was just dark and really hosing down, now the sun is shining and blue sky lol.

Kiwimade we are all hoping The furry one improves. you haven't gone on and on at all. And knowing that you have human experience with it makes it even harder for you.
I wish I could get MrP to do the cleaning up after sick animals lol..Hope the furry one is improving tho.

I started some squares for cushions last night. Ill just get some done and then figure out what size inners I need. Can always put an extra row for a border on them.

Have to go and do MrPs hair in a minute. Hes starting to look like Goldielocks lol

Looks like another nice day here and not as windy. It was so windy yesterday it was blowing the ear pieces of my little radio out of my ears when I went for a walk.

Going to attack the kitchen at Sisters place today hope to get it shifted and cupboards cleaned - just leave enough for BiL to camp with for rest of the week. It's a great feeling finishing off each room, the big shift is on Friday so no rush.

Had a good evening of knitting yesterday so getting up the back but after knitting new born sizes this certainly Is taking a lot more knitting lol.

morning ladies :) Wow jayemtoo, you must have had a lot of wind, bet it was cold too. The kitchen is the 'fiddliest' part of the house to clean and pack with all the nooks and crannies. But you are right, there is real satisfaction in finishing a room and Friday will come round pretty quick.

I know the feeling of going from baby knitting to bigger sizes lol. I have finished the back of this cardy and I think the size 8 - 9 years will fit our grandy next year when she is nearly four. I'll be babysitting her tomorrow so will put the tape measure around her to check her size.

The Furry One hasn't had any more seizures but is still pacing in the evening when he has a full dose of his meds. He has half a dose at breakfast time and he seems to be managing that so far. He still can't jump onto the bed like he used too (some would say that's a good thing lol) but he will still be regaining his strength in his back legs. Will be talking to our vet again today. Thank you for all your kind words about him, as you can tell, he is thoroughly adored and not just by our students! Thank goodness we don't have any more students until next week.

Morning ladies, I'm at Brisbane airport waiting for my flight which is delayed, so far only 25 minutes, it is scheduled for 8.10 but is saying 8.35. As long as it's not delayed by more than two hours I should still be okay for the flight to Kerikeri. Have a friend meeting me there, and will pick up puss as the cattery is just near the airport and it is on the way home.

Ive had a lovely time even though we had an unusually cold snap, it was quite warm yesterday and is forecast to be in the 20s this week, typical that the weather doesn't behave but it was lovely to meet other family, and as you say Popeye it's a pity the witches don't live in Australia and Paul and Virginia live here. Paul intends to retire in the Bay of Islands, but by then I might be pushing up daisies!

Sorry to hear about the furry one kiwimade, it must be a worry, and to those of you with "other halves" that aren't doing so well. I know what that's like and it's not a good place to be.

So hopefully when I get home the house will still be intact and the car still there, and will start okay. Won't take me long to unpack, my suitcase weighed in at 17.4kg and I took far more clothes than I needed, so next time I will buy a smaller suitcase and that way I can't possibly take too much. Unbelievable the amount of luggage some people struggle with.

Okay, catch up again tomorrow (I haven't had any internet for a few days).

Morning everyone, More rain today for sure
I have washing on and need to vacuum, but of course MrP is laying in bed. Which is straight delaying tactics, cos he knows he has a pile of dishes to do, and if he leaves it long enough he knows I will do them. But I'm not today. he has to start doing something instead of sitting on the couch in front of the tv all day.
I will vac whether it wakes him or not.
Spent a bit of time yesterday trying to catch up on some recorded TV.. It soon mounts up. And we are trying to keep some stuff for MrPs brother to see when they come up eventually.

Poor Furry one.. Hope his body starts to get used to the meds soon.. And Kiwimade, we are as potty over missy as you are with the Furry one.. No shame in that.

Should get back to my hook later.

The Furry One has been barking at the bin man so slowly returning to normal, still won't jump on the bed but no doubt he will soon. Will make the most of the bed looking nice when it's made because it won't be for long lol.

I'm off to babysit our grandy today and will be back home tomorrow. Will be able to have a closer look at the crochet agrimuri (sp) dragon our daughter is making as well as spoil and cuddle our granddaughter.

Will take my knitting with me. Have almost finished the left front of the cardy and it seems to be in proportion so far. The wool I'm using I think is hand spun as there are little lumpy bits here and there. Got lots of it lol so will have to find other projects to use it in when this cardy is finished.

Morning ladies, it's good to be home, but having sent an email from Auckland airport to my friend who was picking me up, I then walked over to the domestic terminal only to discover my flight was half an hour late (and it's only a 40 minute flight) so she was waiting for me at Kerikeri and I was only just out of Auckland. I had no way to contact her to let her know as I'd used my 30 minute free wifi allowance (cheapskates Auckland airport, most places it's unlimited) and didn't have my cellphone with me so I couldn't message her. She didn't seem to mind and still gave me a hug when I arrived and said I looked well. We picked puss up ($252) and she was pleased to see me, but looked very happy there, and we came home. Let puss out of the cage and then went off to get fish and chips. My friend had bought a loaf of bread and a litre of milk for me, so we had a cup of tea too which was very welcome.

I'm just looking out of the window right now. It's a stunning morning and my view is awesome. We discussed at great length with both Paul and his sister the pros and cons of me selling and moving and we're all of the opinion I should stay put as long as I can. I would really miss my view if I moved.

While I was away I knitted 10 sheep, two of them have jackets, one pair of bootees, finished a cowl and made another, crocheted three puzzle balls and two puzzle pumpkins and attempted a puzzle elephant, but only got one pair of his legs done.

Right, I'd better let puss out so she can check out her territory, and unpack my suitcase.

I didn't sleep well last night, it was after three when I finally got to sleep. My feet were cold and I couldn't be bothered getting up to fill a hot water bottle, but eventually puss snuggled up against me and warmed me up. Bless her.

PS. I also discovered that Paul and I had trouble locking the security door when we left as we were using the wrong key !! and the lamp which we had put on timer in the bedroom didn't work as it wasn't switched on at the wall !!!!

Welcome home Kuaka... Nice to be back in your own surrounding eh.

Glad to hear the furry one is getting back to normal.. Ohh Kiwimade while mentioning having a tidy bed. I straitened mine out the other day. Went back that way for something and Missy had bunched up the knitted blanket the little baggage lol

Off to do my INR this morning and pick up MrPs script. Oh must ring the chemist and get anything left made up.

Then a quiet day I hope lol

Found out a friend is having a boy in December ( Like I told her she was) So I might start a blanket. MrP wont like it much . Hes not a fan of this friend. But Ill make it anyway. I seldom get to use blue wool .

It's cold here and overcast BiL isn't feeling the best so we are having a day off - think he has just overdone things a bit so needs a break and I certainly can find plenty to do at home - even if it is knitting lol.

The sun is shining Yeeha - not that is hot but after the very dull grey day yesterday it is lovely. Went for a walk yesterday pm well wrapped up and got a real surprise to see snow on the foothills hadn't realised it was so close.

More house packing today, gradually getting there not sure if truck is coming Friday or Monday advantages either way. Sister gets home tomorrow but guess she won't be much use for a few days having come direct from London.

Have started front of poncho, it looks quite big this time so hopefully one will fit the intended wearer and the other can go to whoever it fits!

Morning everyone.
A very wild night of wind and rain. The sun is trying its best to get through.

Have had a couple of days off crocheting. I think its done me good. But I will start a blanket later. Saw one of FB done in 2 row stripes and loved it so I will do blue and white, or possibly blue yellow and white.

MrP is still in bed so a nice quite house at the mo. I don't bother with the tv if hes not up.

Be carefull on the roads Kiwimade when you travel home.
