Daughter arrived this morning with some beautiful dates requesting scones for morning tea. Liked the look of your recipe rainrain1 and only tweaked it by resting the cut scones prior to baking for 15 mins as suggested by others. Absolutely delicious and devoured so thanks for sharing. suzanna - 2017-12-11 13:58:00 |
57 | Just had to put this in as I was really happy with my girlfriends recipe for scones. They are done in a different way, butter is not put in them but they are turned in melted butter and baked in the butter. Recipe is for butter pats. They are yummy but for a treat they are lovely. chip1914 - 2017-12-12 17:00:00 |

Yes I grate butter too usually from the freezer so nice and cold though I put on cold tray into hot oven and cook for 12 minutes always put pinch of cayenne with cheese scones it elevates the cheesy flavour. deboron - 2019-12-12 09:26:00 |
