I still think it's using picture-in-picture from a second input, here's a link to how you disable that on the AOC monitor using the buttons: https://www.manualsdir.com/manuals/660479/aoc-u3477pqu.html? gyrogearloose - 2021-08-22 16:01:00 |

Are you talking about the buttons on the monitor itself? The only button I can find is the on/off. Sorry if I sound dumb. The monitor model is E2070Swn joanie04 - 2021-08-22 19:53:00 |
54 | Feel and look carefully round the outside edges, ( sides and top and bottom), of the monitor. Edited by nice_lady at 8:09 pm, Sun 22 Aug nice_lady - 2021-08-22 20:08:00 |

Double checked and just about turned the thing inside out. Thanks for all your help. Off to get the rest of my stuff sorted for tomorrow. I have had a light bulb moment. The monitor came with a CD. I have just found it. Only trouble is I do not have a CD drive. Edited by joanie04 at 8:19 pm, Sun 22 Aug joanie04 - 2021-08-22 20:16:00 |
56 | If you find one copy the CD into a USB stick in them you can use it on your laptop. nice_lady - 2021-08-22 20:23:00 |
57 | Also if you look up the make and model of the Monitor you might find the manufacturer has a driver down load for it..... Maybe. nice_lady - 2021-08-22 20:24:00 |
58 | Extend doesn't seem to mind mixed resolutions, not even on Windows XP. tygertung - 2021-08-22 20:32:00 |
59 | try the i-menu app, its supposed to give the same functionality as the OSD buttons - third in the list and according to the specs optimal resolution for the monitor is 1600 x 900@60Hz Edited by king1 at 9:06 pm, Sun 22 Aug king1 - 2021-08-22 21:05:00 |
60 | Thanks everyone. Will sort tomorrow. I have an old laptop here that goes just and it has a CD drive and I have plenty of USBs joanie04 - 2021-08-22 21:51:00 |
61 | I finally looked at the first picture you posted. Gyro is almost certainly right, it looks like a pip (picture in picture) setting. Id assumed it was a picture of a monitor not working and not bothered, whoops. That monitors power button is also an auto config button apparently. When its on a short press should autoconfig, a long press turns it off. Otherwise you have to use the software on the cd to adjust it, painful, a thing called imenu. Thanks. Will see if I can copy the disk onto a USB later tonight, once I unearth the dinosaur laptop. I have managed to achieve a lot more today workwise than I thought I would so that is a plus. Tomorrow's challenge is to see if I can connect remotely to my work pc. Edited by joanie04 at 6:02 pm, Mon 23 Aug joanie04 - 2021-08-23 18:01:00 |
64 | Okay I haven't really done anything with the monitor. Been too busy actually working. So this morning I was hooked up remotely to my work computer which runs two monitors. The good news is the setup I have here works for my work set up. At work my monitors are side by side. Here the other monitor is above the laptop monitor. So when I am signed everything is where it should be. The only downside the annoying little message but I can live with that at the moment, as most of my work currently is using the main screen. So thank you everyone. I can cope with what I have. joanie04 - 2021-08-24 16:20:00 |
