Or pull the battery out for a minute or so then reinsert it. That normally resets the cmos also.

Neither worked, and I've tried two video cards too!

Check, it hasn't got an onboard video built in and you might need to plug into that if it's there.

I'd suspect the power supply, I've seen them dry up in the cupboard, maybe they work once and then never again.

Depends. Was it even starting the CPU?

No onboard video, too old. I tried two power supplies too.

Old systems nearly always had onboard video rather than add on cards.

So, no fans kick at all? Have you tried shorting the power pins rather than using the actual physical start button?

All the fans go, but I'm getting no video signal. I think I need to make some jumpers for the pc speaker to get that going to see if I am getting any beep codes out of the BIOS.

According to this integrated graphics were not really produced until 2001, although I could be reading it wrong.

This computer is year 2000, and needs a graphics card anyway.

Or maybe 1999? https://www.quora.com/What-was-the-first-Intel-CPU-to-ship-w

I tried another power supply, and have also hooked up a PC speaker, but no beeps. I think it might be stuffed. I'll try another video card before I give up.

If it's got power that''s a good start.

Put up a photo of the back of the computer with the connections/plugs etc showing please.

It's just got a serial port, parallel port, 2 usb ports, some audio jacks, and some ps2 ports for the keyboard and mouse.

I tried another video card and another power supply, but no improvement.
