wife and I are with genesis bill is $87--$90 a month with smart meter..
just hot water tank and lights, small fridge freezer, small chest freezer.
No Heating in winter.

Crikey our bill is $1,000 a month this winter compared to $700 last winter. Two heat pumps and three bar heaters in the man cave do not help but nothing has changed much in usage. Our power bill usually peaks in summer with the two heat pumps on cold and the pool running all day so i am not excited about next summers power bill.

Wow that is just unbelievable. My total bill wouldn't even equate to $1000 a year.

Got a new rule in the man cave that if you leave the three bar heaters on it now costs the last person to leave a box. Oh and a box is 24 bottles not twelve. The free booze calms me down when i get the power bill.

we live in Whangarei we are on low user account.

I am on low user, but my daughter's rates are a lot less than mine per unit. Top Energy are my provider and her provider is WEL. Same pricing set up but with the different rates throughout the day. It is probably the extra cost getting the power over the Mangamuka's lol

I think its strange how people quote their power bill.
Its sorta like saying " My cars cheap/expensive to run because it costs X $ to fill the tank.

My power bill is 213 units at $107 ( thats a above averge usage for me ) january
So, 50 cents a unit ( kw/h ) inc delivery, GST & discount.
192 units @ $102 June ( they changed pricing after removing the prompt paying discount option )
164 @ $96 May

Though just now when i went to use the clothes drier, i thought, " hang on this is going to cost me $1 a hour"
When really my simple supply charge for the month is like $60, just to get electricity delivered to me.
My actual electricity use is another $40 & that works out as 21 cents a unit (18.50 + GST )
My hour of clothes drying is going to cost me 42-50 cents. But on top of my $60 a month ' Electricity club' fee
