Exactly, she visited China town to try and cut down the anti-Asian sentiment that was growing. On the same day Trump tweeted:

"The Coronavirus is very much under control in the USA. We are in contact with everyone and all relevant countries. CDC & World Health have been working hard and very smart. Stock Market starting to look very good to me!"

Under control - lying orange cockwomble.

She was busy calling Trump a racist for banning flights from China too. He made the mistake of listening to the WHO. It took the WHO until, what March(?) to admit that the virus was transmissible between humans. More than enough blame to go around.

And yet he know that in early February:

"It goes through the air," Mr Trump told the author on 7 February.

"That's always tougher than the touch. You don't have to touch things. Right? But the air, you just breathe the air and that's how it's passed.

"And so that's a very tricky one. That's a very delicate one. It's also more deadly than even your strenuous flus."

And yet he did nothing but downplay the virus and later claimed it was no worse than the flu...

Perhaps he was trying to keep people calm? I guess when you have conflicting information from various sources, including the likes of Fauci, who flip flopped all over the place, you go on what you have. A big issue with Trump was that he was hung up on what the stock market was doing, as if that was a marker of success, whereas everyone knows it's all bollocks.

Yeah, orange man was worse than bad.

I'm not judging who is good or who is bad - I'm saying that politicians can't be believed - none of them.

Exactly, his only concern was what it would do for his re-election. He failed. He is a failure. End of story.

So what happens to the people who can't afford to buy, or can't get a mortgage, when all of the landlords have sold up? Let me guess, your answer will be MOAR Socialism, right?

Apparently they’re taking it “easier” “living off others.” So too bad if they’re priced out, because according to some being renters automatically makes them less worthy and therefore expendable. N here’s stupid me thinking that our shared experience of the pandemic had engendered more empathy among Kiwis. Obviously I was dead wrong.

Hopefully more will follow suit and let the houses be available for people to purchase. If enough do it at the same time, the market will hopefully start to shift in favour of people actually wanting to make a home for themselves as opposed to people who find it easier to live off others than doing anything actual productive job.

There is a sector of people who actually don't want to own their own home. 2 very common reasons. 1 - want to move every year or 2, so don't want the jassels of buying/selling impacting on the flexibility and 2 - fully know the costs of good routine maintenance and dont want their hard earned money going into many of those things rather than a their pocket.

It's the landlord's property. He's running a business, not a social service. He shouldn't have to explain to anyone, let alone a journalist. Yes, it's a terrible time for a tenant to find another rental, but it is HIS property which he rents to her, not a rent to own.
No, I'm not a landlord and I support the Government in many things but removal of the 90 day no cause required notice is a step too far. If I was a landlord, I would have sold up by now = more properties on the market but fewer rentals.

Why? Cause the tenancy laws are unjust, unbalanced and forced through with no input from the industry. Virtue signally and ideology at work. Designed to destroy private business. And the customer suffers the effects. Enjoy the results...

Yeah right.

I am sure that you will find at least one supporter of your views somewhere, that being human nature.....and the way of the world.

Sent just now:

Overdue rent Payment – Section 56 of the Residential Tenancies Act (RTA)

Our records show as of today’s date you are 764.31 in arrears. Your weekly rent is 450.00 and is required to be paid in advance. As the rent due has not been paid within 5 working days of the rent being due you are officially warned that you have ticked one box of the three needed within a 90 day time frame for a termination application to the Tenancy Tribunal.

Your email to (Staff) states "I am well aware of the arrears and certainly don’t appreciate the tone of the messages in either text or email. I am a responsible tenant that asks for very little and certainly keep this property like my own."

Having looked at the tenant diary relating to your tenancy I would point out the following dates whereby we have contacted you regarding rent arrears:

27 June 2018
18 August 2018
17 October 2018
30 October 2018
21 December 2018
10 January 2019
28 January 2019
19 February 2019
12 June 2019
8 October 2019
5 February 2020
19 February 2020
30 March 2020
6 April 2020
26 April 2020
17 June 2020
8 September 2020
29 September 2020
13 October 2020
4 November 2020
24 November 2020
1 December 2020
8 January 2021
5 February 2021
23 February 2021
and finally, this email

Your concern at the "tone" of our emails and messages is mirrored by our client's concern at your lack of organization to make rent payments on time. The "tone" of our emails and messages has become firmer the longer you have ignored your responsibility for paying rent as per your contract.

Please note your rent arrears will be $1,921.43 if you decide to wait until March 15th to pay. Well outside the 21 day limit for us to apply to the court for termination. Due to the number of warnings you have been issued, I feel sure that the court will agree with us that your behavior regarding rent payment is far from that which a "responsible" tenant would do.

Edited to add. This will definitely show up on the TT order if it gets there. Good tenant selection will show this tenant is tardy on rent. However, this tenant is excellent in all other aspects of their tenancy.

The law now makes me send official warnings. This would have previously been a 90 day (ahem no cause???) notice.

Two simple rules for life about 'civics' and financial priorities my Dad (real estate agent & chartered accountant when these occupations were allowed to be together) instilled in his children and any others he could get hold of......

pay to keep a roof over your head (rent or mortgage)
pay your taxes

So no matter if they are 'excellent in all other aspects of their tenancy' they still fail at rule no1.
