Thank you so much! I guess because it doesn’t have a father on violets birth certificate....only on her marriage cert, so Marshall Townsend could be her adopted father. We don’t know if Blanche and violet are full or half sisters

My guess would be half sisters. Violet born 1917, Nellie married 1919 to Parkin, then had the three children. Just checking out Townsend now. He married Susana(h) Thaxter in 1900, a quick search of the freeBMD shows no children registered to Townsend with maiden name for mother of Thaxter, so possibly they did not have any children themselves. So couple of options, they adopted Violet as Nellie was only 17 and had no children of their own, or Townsend may be Violet's bio father.

Have sent you some docs, nothing greatly exciting but good to have.
Harping back to the DNA again, I notice that there is a public tree Thomas Laing family tree owned by Thomas Laing, he shows his DNA matching to your maternal grandfather, Joseph Richard West. So if he shows up on your matches, you can go to the shared matches and mark them as related to the West side of the family. That may help shorten the list of matches!

I just had a squizz, thank you so much...you have no idea how much it all means to me having your help!
I’ve tried going into ancestry but only the .com is loading not the au site.
I was going to copy and paste the top dna matches.
Errol Dunne and Thomas Laing have both shared their trees with me so luckily I can view them as I like.

I saw that tree in the early hours this morning. I actually contacted Derek but haven't had a reply for you yet.

I searched for Violet Irene Green - no other details but selected England.
It was the fourth entry in the list of results. I have copied it here so you can recognise it. As it is a public tree you should be able to see the tree. Click on his name up in the left hand corner and you can send him a message.

I keep sending him messages via my brain to please please respond lol.
I just pray that he is still in a position to check his emails.

If you click on his profile you will see several trees with varying numbers of people in them but all are essentially the same - think they are updates from when new information is added. He doesn't mention Cyril Parkin or the Townsends in any of his trees.

Derek has himself as Private
He has Violets birth, marriage to his father, and death.
He has Violet's mother Nellie May but no mention of a marriage to Cyril - states Unknown Spouse.
It names Nellie's parents, Charles Green and Rose Smith, and their parents.
There is no other person in his generational line, and it goes directly back to gt grandparents - no siblings in any generation. Short answer is that he is the only person able to be contacted on his tree.

Don't search in Trees - select Search then scroll down to Public Member Trees and enter Violets name and select England. You can message from his tree
