| Thanks for sharing that jaybee6. I made it tonight but made it gluten free for my coeliac kids. Not everything converts well to GF flour but this sure did. I added an extra egg to counteract the texture of the GF flour and I added a bit of coconut and spice. The kids were super impressed. The texture was gorgeous. So glad I tried it. norse_westie - 2017-11-25 19:35:00 |
| Would this work for apricots as well. Would you use tin apricots and just mash them up a bit. ? bubbles22222 - 2017-12-07 19:01:00 |

| If you replace the butter with oil, how much oil would you use? Many thanks. retired - 2018-12-08 19:27:00 |

| To the above. Not sure how much oil. I have not altered my receipe but give it a go and find out. Yes add apricots they would be Devine. Tined ones I would say as fresh ones can sometimes be dry. Gosh have not had it for a while so might go make one. jaybee6 - 2019-12-15 16:22:00 |

| I just made this today, I used some pears I had sitting around. It is certainly lovely, and easy to make. Makes a great pudding... or slice. dibble35 - 2020-02-03 18:13:00 |
| Thanks OP. I made this tonight and it was yummy served warm with a dollop of vanilla ice cream . Used three elderly Eve apples and a couple of fat stalks of rhubarb as the apples were quite small. Didn't have SR flour so I threw in some BP, was going to use mixed spice, but it was well out dated so used heaps of cinnamon. Such a versatile recipe, I think I'll try peaches next! hound31 - 2020-02-07 19:35:00 |
| I have a complaint about this slice. I couldn't leave it alone and now there's none left! hound31 - 2020-02-10 11:06:00 |
| Glad you liked it hound. Talking of it now makes me feel like some. jaybee6 - 2020-02-10 20:01:00 |
| Im going to make it again and take it into work for morning tea, buy a bottle of cream on the way. I dont have enough apples so hoping itll taste Ok with a couple of plums used as replacement for one of the apples. 69 | Well the apple and plum one I made last night as nice, but I prefer the pear one I made the other day. A very easy and quick pudding. dibble35 - 2020-02-19 05:54:00 |
| Yum, I will have to try this recipe. Thanks to those who have posted their variations, have made a note that halving the sugar works ok too. koru67 - 2020-02-20 07:46:00 |
