Just been sent a recipe in a weekly foodie email ...the usual mustard , ham and garlic included but yum crust sounds interesting... grate 2 peeled potatoes and toss with 1/2 cup parmesan cheese ..sprinkle on top , bake .
Never thought to do that before :)

In the late 1980s on my OE worked in Surrey in a Hotel as chamber maid... we ate what the guests ate and they served Pheasant casserole every week... a nasty watery casserole with lots of celery and dried out nasty game bird. - too much celery is really nasty.

A shop in Paraparaumu used to make a macaroni cheese pie and I'd have one every weekend. We never had mac cheese at home and I just love it. The two things I loathe are fish and spicy food.

Never tried white pudding but had black pudding for breakfast yesterday - nowhere near as tasty as it used to be. I loved it before I knew what it was but I’d still rather have black pudding than macaroni cheese.

I ate them both as a child because they were served up and didn't know what they were really... but found them dry and mealy .. once I found out about the blood in the black pudding that was definitely a no no forever.

Curious if you like Carbonara ?

Proper carbonara with just eggs, bacon and cheese - yes. Love cheese sauce on cauliflower or broccoli but always find macaroni tastes sweet and the texture is slimy
