Congrats on your 40th Anniversary grizzly. Yes their offer has been accepted conditionally. Its like a Building site here. Stuff going on in all directions. I am packing, destashing and visiting ill family. Some days its hard to know what the devil I am supposed to be doing ha ha. Started another hat one night and now I cant find it ugh.

Sounds like a nightmare when it gets to the point you can't find your knitting!!! LOL. How long have you got till moving day do you think?

Wont be until October but new carpet for house and cottage going to be laid on my Birthday duh , New decking going down, etc etc. We have moved heaps of furniture to an air conditioned storage unit, Didn't even know they had those ha ha. I found my knitting but no time tonight. You remember the nightmare of packing and shifting lol. I have had neighbours coming to grab things I don't want so that helps a bit. The Cottage is looking so spacious .

Packing and shifting is something I just take for granted now. LOL. WE have lived in so many houses over the years and not many are still around sad to say after the earthquakes or changes to suburbs etc. I enjoy the decluttering of each shift, I have to say.

I gave all my frozen Fish Bait away that the boys had stored in the small freezer. Happy Fishermen in our Community ha ha. Sold more wool that I will never knit, Gave away Text Books I used years ago so I'm on a roll here. Had L 15 months for the night. She marches in to the lounge and looks at the TV and shakes herself, points and say Wiggles ha ha. She went to Bed at 7.30 and woke up at 8.30 this morning. I kept checking her through out the night ha ha. I'm not used to her sleeping that long. Well I can see I'm making progress here although I think others may not think so grrrr. I'm pacing myself.

As you should. That's where I am at, too. Today is the shops AGM and I have tendered my resignation from the Treasurers position from that point, also from administering the Facebook page, doing the window displays, the monthly newsletter and the wool orders. I will stay a member of the co-op and work my Monday mornings still but after c25 years on the Committee by day is done. Once the funding results are known over the next couple of months at work I am also going to reduce my hours down to 30. Together all that frees up about 11 hours per week for other stuff like crafts.

Yeah grizzly that is fantastic :)

Good for you grizzly. I realise as I'm packing just how much I do for others. Unfinished projects etc. I'm going to pace myself permanently now. 73 on Friday and I'm feeling it ha ha. I guess my family are used to me being always available but I have warned them ha ha. That is not to say that I wont help because I will but I want dates well ahead ho ho. This spur of the moment thing is ending methinks. I am going to have some tea and knit. I'm over packing hee hee.

makerealbany - 2020-08-01 18:30:00
9609

So assertive at nearly 73!!! Go you. It all went well yesterday and after I spend a bit of time with new Treasurer I am free! Not that I didn't enjoy doing that job, I do love book-keeping but I kept adding other roles to it. As you do. Everybody out today so after catching up on some house work and some pruning of roses I will be sitting down to finish a wee jacket for the shop tomorrow.

grizzly4 - 2020-08-02 10:22:00

I spent the day exploring my shed ugh. Rang my son to remind him I have 5 more boxes of his and he needs to get them ha ha. I do not like book keeping lol. All those years doing it for Charity Organisations put me off. I tried to give away lots of good jars but no one wanted them locally so I have to cart them to the Op Shop sigh. I sold some wool last week and most buyers are great but one Lady bought some 5 minutes after I listed then nothing for 24 hours. Contacted her and she said yes I want it and will pay at the weekend mmmm. One last chance and it goes to the next buyer.
Now you take it easy and do not take on any other roles.
Yes talk about being assertive, my oldest grandchild said to his Mum today ' Nana was saying No, no, no and she really meant it' T said he was laughing his head off and grinning. I got out of cooking Pancakes for lunch. They had to settle for sandwiches. The Television did not go on and I didn't take any children with me to visit my eldest son.
There was a bad car accident on our main road which had been closed. When I came back I had to go the long, long way home over hill. over dale ,etc. It was a lovely scenic drive.

makerealbany - 2020-08-02 22:47:00
9611

My "I really mean it' lasts about 24 hours. They don't even have to nag me, they just know I'll change my mind. LOL. Especially L13, he just grins and says 'Ok Nana'.
Matinee jacket finished and I've done a wee blue cable jersey for one of the toys I've bought - a baby hippo this time. Last week I did a pink jersey for a baby elephant and a red jersey for a wee bear that looks like Pooh Bear now. First day of my week off but spending it at shop and with new Treasurer afterward doing end of month stuff and banking.

Had to race to Hamilton for the night . My dear Brother in Law passed away. I spent the night at my sisters and had to come back today to continue moving stuff for the Carpet Layers who are here on Thursday when I will be away again for R's Burial Day. I'm not sure how it is all going to fit in but my sister comes first. Ive got a few more jobs to do tonight so I had better jump to it.

makerealbany - 2020-08-04 21:48:00
9613

Thats very sad and difficult timing to be with your sister as much as you want to. I'm thinking of you.
Yesterday I went back over to the corner of Christchurch where we used to live. Went to the Doctor, had a haircut, stocked up from our favourite butcher and baker and browsed through a new shop that has recently opened that has a lovely selection of wool. I bought 3 lots, not that I needed more at this point. LOL. Today I'm off to a Warehouse place to stock up on buttons and to pick up a battery for I.'s kart. I'll also do a few more roses which I started yesterday. The weather is supposed to change from tomorrow which may slow my gardening down again.

grizzly4 - 2020-08-05 07:34:00
9614

Grizzly where dd you buy the wool?? Not that I need it either

judith98 - 2020-08-05 11:41:00
9615

A little shop called 'My favourite things' next to the cafe opposite Harewood Tavern in Bishopdale. It is a combination of new wool and second hand clothing and books. Nicely presented and very friendly.

grizzly4 - 2020-08-06 09:56:00
9616

Wow a second Purple Patch sale, yeah. I doubt that I will be visiting that shop any time in the near future, but who knows.

I can't believe my week off is nearly over. I have been really lazy last couple of days, too. I am back on track to be able to retire early on my 30th anniversary at work in March next year. I am very relieved that there is an end in sight. I need to use up my leave as much as possible before then as well so the coffers are not depleted when I do leave. Lots of plans to organise over the next few months. Yahoo. I hope your packing is going well, makerealbany.

grizzly4 - 2020-08-08 10:18:00

I just visited My Favourite Things on line.

Oh my gosh, We sold more masks than anything else yesterday at the shop. The Board members at work want me to get some for them which has prompted me to see if some of the crafty people in our community would be interested in coming in to make some. Another project to organise LOL. And only been back at work one day. BUT I have set my retirement date and told the Board. 19 March 2021 will be my last day at work. It will also be my 30th anniversary working there.

That's a worry regarding the unknown source for that family in Auckland. Hopefully they figure it out soon so your plans aren't interrupted. Nothing worse than being in limbo. I am having to cancel a movie trip for the women this morning so we can maintain social distancing down here, Here we go again.

grizzly4 - 2020-08-12 07:36:00

Omg my whole message just disappeared again.

9622

Gremlins again. I'm here I'm ok Came home with a nasty cough off to get tested tomorrow as per GP's instructions. Spent some time with my Sis. Sad Funeral but happy celebrations of R's life with his lovely Whanau. We buried him on my Birthday so my family kept whispering Happy Birthday Blessings to me.
Everything is going steadily here. I'm too tired to repeat all I typed the first time,. So its Party time on 19 March 2021 yippee

makerealbany - 2020-08-12 20:24:00
9623

And a belated Happy Birthday!!!!!
I can't believe how stressed people are at present. I was snapped at by a worker at our local supermarket yesterday for asking a simple queston. Admittedly it was probably a question asked by everyone at present " Do you masks in stock?" but it certainly didn't deserve the response I got. I can't get them anywhere at present so have ordered some handmade ones from the shop for us. We are looking at having times at work for people to come in and make their own as well. If we don't end up in lockdown, of course. Had to cancel the movie trip yesterday because we couldn't do the social distancing required and as our numbers have gone up same applies to our Soup and Scone lunch today as well. I wonder where we will be at this time next week.

grizzly4 - 2020-08-13 07:53:00
9624

I bought a box of gloves last week from s Supermarket $10 this week they were $ 15 ???? I got masks 5 for $10 today they were advertised at $ 10 each . I have 6 Annah Stretton masks to go over the top . $ 15 FOR 3, Its really crazy. Being at Level 3 no one can come and view the house so we are ploughing through our chores at a relaxed pace ha ha. I had my test yesterday, Took me 10 minutes. Drove my car to the back of my GP's Surgery and she came out in full yellow protective face helmet and gown. I'm so lucky I have a brilliant Dr and great Medical Centre. Got my script at the chemist I was the only one in a mask. came home and started knitting. My hands were so dry I had to slather cream on them. Its all the sanitizer. I cant find my sock wool but looking through my packing book I see that's its at my sons. So there it will stay for 12 days lol. I have got some blanket wool here so crochet it will be after this hat ha ha. All our shops and Movies closed up here. Ah well needs must. I'm not too worried about level 3.

makerealbany - 2020-08-14 21:59:00
9625

Sounds like you have things covered except for wool supplies. LOL. A group of us spent yesterday morning cutting out and pinning face masks then I set up my sewing machine on my desk for the afternoon. I have brought them home to finish the elastic ends then they are going to be made available to our Women's Group and Soup Lunch people this week. They are our older clients so getting them sorted first then will make them available to the other programmes etc. I'm going through my fabric stash here at home that I haven't touched since we shifted in 18 months ago to make more. I found a fat quarter on TM with diggers and dump trucks so will make I. a couple to wear at work. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2020-08-15 09:43:00
9626

Making face masks seems to be the latest craft craze!!! The need for them is understandable of course but who would have thought so many people are making their own and for others. A friend of mine living in a retirement village spent 3 days with a staff member making 80 or so for other residents. Pretty big commitment!

grizzly4 - 2020-08-18 07:24:00
9627

We have had more to deal with up here. Uma passed away yesterday so with all the restrictions it wont be easy, My test was clear and I'm feeling better. We have made lots of facemasks as well. Have to organise lots today so running lol

makerealbany - 2020-08-20 07:27:00
9628

I'm so sorry this has happened when it's so difficult for families up your way at present. My thoughts are with you and I believe that whatever the restrictions you will still pull off an amazing tribute.

grizzly4 - 2020-08-21 09:57:00
9629

30 weeks to go! Starting to organise things at work so that I can decrease my hours within the next month or so. Interestingly I am having more enquiries for people needing Supervision so that part of my life could maintain my interest in supporting not-for-profits going forward. My plan for today though is to sew up more masks. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2020-08-22 10:18:00
9630

OMG! I was concentrating so hard on making sure the pattern was all up the same was on the fabric for I's masks that I forgot to put right sides together!!!! I have ended up with pieces for only one side of his face. LOL. Luckily they have ordered more of this fabric. I am such a fool at times. However I nearly have another 15 masks finished for work tomorrow.

grizzly4 - 2020-08-23 10:01:00
9631

Grizzly don't be so hard on yourself. Like you said you were concentrating on having the material up the same way.

LOL. Thanks Judith.

grizzly4 - 2020-08-24 07:17:00
9633

I had a laugh about the face masks ha ha. I have done the same myself . Well the Funeral arrangements keep changing . Its understandable but it is also very difficult for Family. We have people in and out of the property and we have to leave before they come. When we get back home its a necessary chore to sterilize anything they may have touched doors etc, Its takes ages and is wearing us all out. We have said no Open Homes even in the next level because it is too hard to keep an eye on people. Some do not wear masks or gloves up here even though its recommended ugh. We still have Community Transmission attached to the large cluster.
I have knitting supplies so still working on blankets. Sewing machines are now in storage sigh. Its been wet and windy here so good time for crafting when we aren't cleaning lol. I found this new hand cream called Tough Hands. Its brilliant as my hands were so sore and started to crack again after all the washing and sterilizing. It was $17 from the Chemist. Its an Industrial Strength Hand Repair. They do have a nice perfumed one for Gals but the Guys one is cheaper and really works. Aw that sounded like an ad ha ha.

makerealbany - 2020-08-25 21:57:00
9634

It did sound like an ad!! LOL. I think I have handcream on every table or drawer where I might sit at any given time to stop my hands from cracking with all the sanitiser. We made soap from a goats milk base last week at Women's Group and that has a lovely smooth effect on my hands. We added either vanilla or dried lavender. Very nice. Today it's off to the Air Force Museum so lots of warm clothes needed.

grizzly4 - 2020-08-26 07:33:00
9635

Warm clothes were definitely not needed, Such a warm, sunny day. I've re- pulled a muscle in my arm getting myself off and on the bus yesterday. Darn knees have no strength at all now. Better not affect my knitting!! My arm that is not my knees, LOL. Working on dolls clothes this week so nice and light, luckily.

grizzly4 - 2020-08-27 07:41:00
9636

A busy day at the Craft Group yesterday. Another 18 masks just about done and 36 invitations made for the Women's Group 20th anniversary lunch in a few weeks. I can't believe it's been that long since I started the group. LOL. MInd you, the Craft Group I started 32 years ago at another venue. It hasn't been a big group for years and none of the original members except me now. And I wasn't part of it for last 16 years till they asked if they could use our hall. It's a good space on a Friday morning to work on things for fundraising tables etc.

grizzly4 - 2020-08-29 09:34:00
9637

Gosh that is a long time for both groups. I have so much to do and so little time sigh. I'm working on another Court Submission to remove Trustees and its has to have evidence from the last 5 years ugh. So checking files etc. Thank heavens I kept those boxes here. My sis E has completed her last lot of Radiotherapy so just awaiting results.
Sis P is still dealing with legal issues after my BiL's passing and I help her out when and where I can.
People are still trooping through the Property but no open homes. Cannot keep track otherwise. I started a crochet blanket but have decided I don't like it so will undo it ha ha. Went for a drive up the road when People came through today. We were going to go to the local park but there were people everywhere so gave that a miss. I don't care what anyone says Aucklanders are not all obeying the guidelines. Its diabolical. Hardly any mask wearing and social distancing.
I'm not happy about our children going back to school tomorrow and we have had to give M a strong talking to about wearing her mask in the bus etc.
I miss Socializing with my friends but I'd rather be safe than sorry. I mIss seeing what everyone is making. Facebook is all very well but nothing beats the real thing ha ha Hope your arm is feeling a lot better.

makerealbany - 2020-08-30 20:02:00
9638

I worked my arm better in the garden. LOL. You are very full on with all the paper work, worse than me at work! I worry about the some of the Auckland people travelling again now, too. Lack of social distancing is apparent everywhere not just up your way so if someone who has it does travel.....
Oh well, if it happens, it happens I guess. We can only take care of our own. L13 not coming back today as his other Nana passed away last night. Hard when we can't wrap him up in our cuddles at this point when his Mum wants him with her too.

grizzly4 - 2020-08-31 07:46:00
9639

Poor L13 . K12 is very quiet. He just comes close for a cuddle and then goes off to his room. I go up there when People are coming through our property. He has had so many losses that boy. J25 his big sister spends her days off work with him.
I got through a lot of paperwork today. Found all my files to put into the Submissions. I have to log in every Meeting we had. Who attended etc. Then I have to send copies of all the Minutes . 5 years worth ugh. I have to read all previous Court Cases. Decisions and recommendations that were made. Then detail all of those that were either broken by the other Parties or not adhered to. What a joke, They ignored everything. This is going to take several days but needs must lol.
Court Stenographers are hopeless. They don't even proofread half of this stuff. They leave out important information that was stated and insert minor details instead. The more I read the madder I get ha ha.
I was going to un ravel that blanket but T sent C a picture and he wants me to finish it , Apparently he loves Waikato Colours Red, Yellow and black. Its in stripes . So Ill motor on ,

makerealbany - 2020-08-31 22:14:00
9640

Oh my gosh that sounds like an enormous job you have to do. And not fun finishing a blanket you aren't fussed about either. he things you do, makerealbany, LOL.

grizzly4 - 2020-09-01 07:10:00
9641

I know ha ha. Had a haircut today woohoo. I went shopping for a Duvet for G He likes dark colours. What a surprise lol. He never buys himself anything as he spends his money on his children. Bed Bath and Beyond had some fantastic sale items. I looked in Farmers but even with their sale it was very expensive. two shops and I was exhausted by the time I got home so had a nap . I think its the being very aware of social distancing and having to do the two step dance everywhere ha ha. Well we are finally having a Funeral on Thursday and then a Hola on Friday which will be an all day event. At lest I know there will only be 50 people present.

makerealbany - 2020-09-01 21:56:00
9642

The funeral for L's other Nana isn't till Tuesday. He came home to us last night and is just going to spend the days with his Mum's family. It will give him a break from all the adult conversations they don't protect their children from.
Sigh.

grizzly4 - 2020-09-02 07:13:00
9643

Makerealbany, do you still have my email address? Yours has disappeared since we changed computers. If you do can you flick me a message so I can reply please?

grizzly4 - 2020-09-02 07:16:00
9644

I have just tried to send you one. This laptop is useless my son says. He reckons the memory is not big enough and we cannot enlarge it so I may have to get another one. I have had problems with it ever since I started all the heavy work mmmm/ I sent you the email from my phone. G had to set up my phone so I could send messages to the printer to print things for me. Sometimes people including lawyers send Documents in stupid formats lol. Such fun technology ugh.
At lest L will have a break at home, He is most likely exhausted by the time night falls.

makerealbany - 2020-09-02 22:07:00
9645

Trying to get him to school today, but it's a bit of a mission.

grizzly4 - 2020-09-03 07:41:00
9646

I wasn't allowed to go to R's Funeral . There will be a Memorial for P on the 26th so hopefully I can go to that. K was very composed his Mum said. He has a responsibility to take part in all Ceremonies for his Grandparents being the last male bearing the Family Name. He has a fabulous older cousin who has taught him what to do. T was so proud of him.
He will go back to school on Monday.
I am up early to attempt more paperwork. Brain is clearer in the mornings ha ha. I only did three rows on that blanket last night and fell asleep in my chair.

makerealbany - 2020-09-05 06:11:00
9647

Now I have no book work to do at home I am able to read a bit more but 2 pages and I'm asleep in my chair too. LOL. And making masks, of course.

grizzly4 - 2020-09-05 09:57:00

It was a lovely Fathers Day for G He had both of his girls for the day and his 17 year old son drove up from Hamilton in his car to visit for the day. Its the first time he has had all three together. J is usually off somewhere else. Teenagers lol. We had a nice family time.
T is crocheting her second blanket and its looking good, She has the urge to craft now and enjoys it so much. She is trying to take time out for herself at last. Turned her phone off and left a message for her students. No calls for today. She realizes how short life is. Its always a sad day for K and now he is missing his grandfather and his grandmother. I went up to see him this afternoon as he just wanted to stay at home.
Two more offers on the house. More dreamers. I think some people think others will sell their homes for ridiculous prices because of the way things are. Offering less than GV is just downright rude. The agent told them so as well. Ha ha. Any fool can just look at the property and see how much has been spent on it. The land is worth the offers without the house. cottage and Office. Ah well .
I'm off to bed early as its been a long day.

makerealbany - 2020-09-06 22:42:00
9649

It does seem like people want something for nothing these days regardless of what you are selling. It seems to have been the week for bad news - daughter S has gone back with the bloke she finally left last year and they have bought a house together. I am really struggling with the decisions people are making in regards to themselves and the people around them. We have the funeral tomorrow morning and all 3 of us are taking the whole day off work. I plan to spend the afternoon in the garden and try and resolve some of the turmoil going on in my head. L is back with his Mum already choosing to return yesterday as she has told him he doesn't have to go to school today. We got him back into school on Thursday and he was happier for it. Goodness knows when she will get him back this week.

grizzly4 - 2020-09-07 07:26:00
9650

Omg what a week for you. I managed to get my first lot of papers in on time duh. Had a few things to sort out with my sisters but got that done. Now tomorrow I can carry on with the Court Papers. We have had more people in and out. It is tiring. Today I drove to our local park and sat in the sun reading a book for an hour until they went off. Even the dogs are getting fed up ha ha.
I am not happy with a lot of people at the moment so everyone is steering clear of me . To my delight ha ha. I had so many phone calls last week I felt like throwing my phone in the toilet. My blanket is growing slowly. Its a double bed size.
