Mr K was so lucky having you to care for him. I hope you and Paul are able to reminisce on the many good times I am sure you had. Thinking of you.

Kuaka - sorry to hear of the passing of Mr K. You have been such a strong woman to support him through such difficult times. You have given him a quality of life that he might not otherwise have had. I think you are an amazing person and will be thinking of you over the next few days, weeks and months. As was said before take one day at a time. That is what I was told and I found that it does help not to worry too far in advance. I was told you will never forget or stop missing your loved one but you will learn to live without them by your side. I am sure that Mr K will be there in spirit and in your heart forever. I felt the pangs of grief that you must be feeling and will send you lots of good vibes to help you carry on.

I know you don't know me and I have hardly ever posted on her but you have been an inspiration with your crafts and how you have coped with the last few months. Hugs to you, Paul and all those that care and support you through this difficult time

Thank you so much everyone, especially those of you who "lurk" but don't very often post. I know there must be a lot of you out there, and even though I don't know you, your love and support means so much to me. Why is it I have the love and support of total strangers and some of those who should be closest to me, can only give me grief. Not fair. And it looks like my tumble dryer has just given up the ghost. What next?

Loving thoughts and hugs Kuaka and Paul at this sad time. You have been so patient and caring. Hope tomorrow goes well and despite being a sad time there will be happy memories and time to reflect on the good times as well.

Morning ladies, hope your cough doesn't develop into the 'flu Carolev.

Well yesterday went off without a hitch, and without too many tears. I could not believe that the witch brought her younger sister and the three kids despite being told that they (the younger sister and kids) would not be welcome. No respect for their father. He said many times that he didn't want her at his funeral. The younger sister wore a scruffy old t-shirt with 86 on the front and jandals.

I was surprised at how many people were there.

back later.

Good Morning Everyone. Kuaka glad to hear everything went ok yesterday. Some family members know how to push that little bite.more. Hopefully you no longer have to cross paths.

Worked most of the day outside raking up leaves and cleaning up the garden beds. My DH is unable to do a lot of the outside jobs anymore.

No knitting or any other crafting yesterday . Hopefully get some in today. Have to pop out midday them the day my own.

It's cooler today so just may get back outside.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Afternoon
Good that yesterday went without a hitch Kuaka, hopefully the sisters will now get on their broomsticks and disappear out of your life.

Had a lovely weekend in Wellington got to cuddle a week old great niece in Masterton on the way and then had fun with the 2 & 4 year olds while their parents were out doing open homes. Not much knitting got done despite the 2 year old giving it to me several times when she saw i had put it down but she usually also handed me a pile of books to read to her as well, a real little book worm.

Looked around the lounge this am and saw I had 4 things on the go I had forgotten I had started one of them so better get a couple finished now.

Have a good rest of the day

afternoon ladies :) Am glad all went well yesterday kuaka, as others have said, hopefully the daughters will just p*** off now.

I've been busy with dad as he flies out to Aussie this week. He had a list of things to do so I just pushed him along a bit lol. Can't believe after last week he is well and confident enough to fly.

Might have a sit down and do some knitting :)

happy knitting :0

Glad all went well yesterday, Kuaka. Hopefully, (to borrow Carolev's term), the bitchy, witchy daughters will fly away on their broomsticks never to be seen or heard of again. Take care of yourself - you need some pampering right about now.

Morning everyone.
Happy Birthday Kiwimade,, I was trying to remember if yours was before or After mine.
Mines tomorrow. We are going to Pukekohe today rather than tomorrow, cos I have a piece of pork to cook tomohrrow.
Once upon a time I didn't know anyone but my grandfather and nephew, who had birthdays in May.
It was their birthdays yesterday, now Kiwimade, then mine and twin of course. The 6th was MrPs adopted brothers and the 7th his MrPs sister and his grand daughter lol.
I got a nice email from farmers with a voucher for a flash pen worth $24-99, free, so Im crossing my fingers I have enough ink to print it out.. Got one last year too, and that's probably the last time I was in Farmers lol.

So have a Fab day everyone

Thinking of you Kuaka.

Morning thick fog here, Happy birthday kiwimade . nearly finished second jacket, these sleepless night help knitting

carolev - 2016-05-04 09:10:00
9488

thank you ladies :) MrK is doing the dishes and cooking dinner tonight so I've been doing a bit of knitting while waiting for the fog to lift. I could garden in the fog (done it before lol) but not today.

Am knitting the hoodie pattern again using left over magic yarn for the fronts and royal blue for the rest. It will fit our granddaughter next winter so getting a bit ahead of myself here. Have just finished the second half of the hoodie and realised I've made a rookie mistake by using the wrong sized needles lol... I've decided to leave it as it doesn't look too odd and if the worst comes to the worst, it's not a lot to unpick.

Happy birthday kiwimade - enjoy your special day and accept all the spoiling you can get.

Spent ages yesterday completing the form to register the death. Has to be done within 3 days of the burial, was a lot of info on there that I didn't know, like dates, places etc of his previous marriages. Two of them were very brief. And also turned the house inside out looking for my expired passport. Knew I had moved it a while ago from its usual hiding place, and eventually found it. Will have to renew it if I'm ever going to stay with Paul and then visit his big sister.

I have to get probate and have to look into doing that. Lots to keep me busy.

Went fishing last night with Paul, my son and a friend, and we managed to catch 2 kahawai and a snapper, and came back here, I filleted the snapper and went to bed, leaving Paul cooking on the bbq and my son making a salad, so I haven't eaten since yesterday lunchtime, so I better have breakfast.

Hope everyone has a good day.

There is a lot of work when it comes to death certs. Mum had three Christmas names and it took the undertakers 3 shots to get it correct, even tho I gave them the info.

Fishing would be a lovely way to relax too..

We have had a lovely time in Pukekohe.. Got the new phones as our other cordless packed up. But it must be 8 years old probably.
Got me some new knickers and a stool for the shower and watch for MrP.
Had KFC for lunch.. Well I had my chips, the rest can be my tea.
Got a nice bulk shop of meat.. Yay something different than chicken and sausages lol.

My shoulder pinched so driving home was Painfull.. So Ive had pain meds and have it resting up on a pillow.

Popeye, I replaced the batteries in our cordless phones a few months ago, as ours were packing up. They were 8or 9 years old and when I checked the user manual to see what sort of battery they need, it said they should be replaced every 12 months - oops!

well now I have made a start in this thread I thought I better do some knitting....at least finish some that have been in progress for some time. Jersey no.1 just needs some buttons and my 2 yr old grand daughter can wear it to daycare. That just requires an op shop visit...another favourite occupation..Lol. Then the the jersey for GD aged 1 just needs sewing and buttons. UNfortunately I tend to procrastinate with knitting and am easily sidetracked.
Kuaka lovely to hear you have been out fishing. Yes all those forms take their toll. My Mum died 4 weeks ago but she was 96 and had been wanting to go for some time. Fortunately she left everything in order and even several funeral services. I told her we wouldnt be having the one with 20 hymns!!! Lol

morning ladies :) Happy birthday popeye!

lol sunnysue, only 20 hymns? lol she must have had lots of favourites.

I've finished one sleeve, another to go then I can set the sleeves in, sew on the buttons and the hoodie is done. Looks like I'll be playing chicken yardage again but that's ok, have enough 'magic' yarn I could do some of the sleeves in.

But first I want to weed the garden for a bit before it rains.

Happy knitting :)

Happy birthday popeye. Have a fabulous day.

No plan for today as yet. Paul is still asleep. We might go out to the boat today or we might try to get a few things done here, like find out why my tumble dryer has stopped working. Probably needs a new element. Hope they are still available.

Notice that the witch and the wicked sister didn't get a mention, nor did the other brother (who I've never met). Apparently the mother phoned the sister in Brisbane the other day and nutted off because she was invited to the funeral too late for her to get there. Apparently the youngest sister invited her, which is a bit rich seeing as she wasn't invited herself, she was in fact told that she would not be welcome, but she turned up anyway.

I'm just so relieved that it is all behind me now. Time to knuckle down and do some housework and gardening which has been sadly neglected these last few weeks, and then try to start living instead of just existing.

I did manage to do a wee bit of crochet on my c2c blanket but only used up the section of yarn that was snaffled up by the vacuum cleaner, so it wasn't a lot, but it's a start.

Have a super day everyone.

Good Morning Ladies. Overcast good day for gardening.
Well I spend over 2 hours at the Doctors with DH because of the pain in his hip and the base of his spine. There not a lot they can do as the base is damaged and crumbly.Could not get appointment till Friday so take into the A & E side. They where so busy and had two doctors on as well.

Our Lawnmower/Gardener came yesterday and cleaned up a piece of garden that is going have weed mat on it with stones on top as well as mow the lawns. . Have some large pots to go on it filled with spring bulbs.Going to replace some steps leading out from my craft room as well.
Will it time I make a move the sun now out and so another great day again.
Enjoy your day !
