Another early morning but S. is home tonight. I just purchased a pair of crutches to call my own. LOL. I have felt so bad having hospital ones for so long. I'm still managing without them at present so decided to get a pair to store in the back of a cupboard for bad days and return the others. I'm working on dolls clothes for shop at present as a bit of a relief from knitting a few things in white baby wool recently.
How are you, millefiori?

Hi grizzly, I'm good, thanks for asking. I've been looking in most days but not posting as I haven't been crafting and I've noticed that random "off-topic" posts are being deleted (and even some long-running threads have been deleted). I would be devastated if I was the cause of this lovely thread being deleted - I know how special it is to you and makerealalbany, and it's very special to me too. We're aiming for a extravaganza 13-year anniversary celebration!
Hope you don't get too much use out of your new crutches, grizzly LOL. I still haven't completely recovered from my accident - I have good days, then days when I can hardly walk around the house. My uninjured foot sometimes hurts more than the injured one - I think it has to work a lot harder to compensate. Still, at least I am having good days now.
My china collection has suffered some casualties after a shelf was knocked over. The broken pieces have been carefully put away for a mosaic project that may happen someday.

millefiori - 2020-03-12 17:58:00
9454

That's very sad about your China but I hope you create something wonderful mosaic wise. The piece I made recently is sitting on the crossbar of my fence in the garden. Looks good there and between my craft and I's Lego we are running out of ideal spots inside.
I wonder who has the time at TM to check the message board for off topic posts!!!? Considering the length of time this post and a few others have been going you'd think they'd appreciate our loyalty and the friendships that have been built up over the years.

I'm back girls. What a week. I started on another baby blanket. Its for my great nephews new baby due in 4 months, Babies are popping up everywhere. They want it in Alize Baby Flower which fortunately I have. I knitted L a cot blanket in it. It is Acrylic and 8 ply. What the devil are off topic posts? I think I have a fair idea. A lovely lady gave me some quilting Batting which is the perfect size and weight for the Cot Quilt so I am on a roll here.
That is indeed sad about your China milliefiori. I found pieces of lovely China I had stashed when we cleaned out the shed before I went away so I have stashed it in my new shed ha ha. Gosh its taking a long time for you to heal. Big hugs,
Grizzly I have Mums walking stick that I use occasionally . I have not used crutches for decades thank heavens, It must be so awkward doing stuff on them but its a good idea to have your own.

Its a bit cooler tonight isn't it? This blanket is starting to weigh a lot ugh. The one I made last week was so much lighter unless I'm getting weaker ha ha. Its this wool and I'm doing it on straight needles as well. Did some weeding today and cut up a few more squares for a quilt. The blade was blunt so its back to the scissors again. I need to buy more blades. They don't last long. I need a haircut so might do all my shopping one day this week. Trying to be more organised. Don't laugh I mean it ha ha.

Hi there, I'm back after what seems like ages. I was taken to hospital by ambulance at some point on Sunday after making some weird (apparently) phone calls to I. who was at the racing with S. He got daughter S. to come round and she called the ambulance. I had TGA (Transient Global Amnesia) which happens to women predominantly between 50 and 65 years who have a history of migraines. I am slowly starting to remember the Lego event on Saturday but Sunday is a complete blank. I was discharged on Monday as there is no treatment and they reckon it's only a 24 hour thing. However they don't allow the emotional toll it has taken and I've been a bit messy getting a handle on all this, being the control freak I am usually. Going back to work for the morning today to see how things go. It's an archery activity with Women's Group which I have been looking forward to. Needless to say not much crafting done although I had done a few dolls things leading up to the weekend that I hadn't remembered doing. What a surprise! LOL.

9458

OMG grizzly!!!!! I hope you are feeling better by the minute. It must have been so scary and confusing and frustrating for you ... like living inside your very own psychological thriller movie. Will your memory of the whole weekend come back eventually? Big hugs and I hope you’re back to feeling totally in control soon.
Yes, the cooler weather is very welcome, makerealbany. I’ve been pottering in the garden and enjoyed being outside. No crafting, unless tackling the repair basket is somehow crafting. It is sewing, I suppose, and I’m having to be quite inventive for some of the repairs - I don’t like to throw clothes out when there’s still lots of wear left in them.

millefiori - 2020-03-19 00:28:00
9459

Thanks for the hugs, millefiori. There are a few tears when no one is around, I guess. Just because I find myself second guessing or not sure if I've already said something or asked a question. The worst thing is dealing with the staff member who made those comments about forgetting things at work at the end of last year in my performance appraisal. She retracted her feedback because it was based on an ex-workers #%*%# comments when she lost her job. Now of course she thinks everything she said has been vindicated and she is constantly mentioning things like 'it all makes senses now" and " you don't need to be confused about it" etc. I'll lose it completely if she keeps it up. I few more bits of Saturday have come back now but still nothing from Sunday, but from all accounts I was a huge source of entertainment for my family so maybe I don't need those memories. I prefer to keep my dignity intact.
Right now I'd love to be at home comfort knitting but I guess if I can work through earthquakes and cancer I can work through this as well. Sigh.
MENDING IS NOT CRAFT!!!!!!! Yuck I hate doing that.

Was thinking of replying to your post in the new year when you said about not wanting to return to work. My opinion has not changed. Give up the shit job. You do not need to be treated the way you are at work. Use your stash of knitting up and put it in the shop. Resign before you lose it completely as you said. I am guessing you both have quite a bit of money in Kiwisaver. Please see my post as caring and not being spiteful or negative.

OMG it's one of those weeks, I think. Daughter S is in hospital with liver problems. After 2 days and not feeding her they ruled out stones and now think it's her autoimmune system again. This has been mentioned in the past with her other health concerns but no clear diagnosis. They have started all the tests again now but hopefully she gets to get home today sometime. It hardly feels like I've been at work at all this week with one thing and another although they put on a lovely morning tea yesterday for my 29th anniversary of being there.

Wow what a time you have had grizzly. Big hugs my friend. I know its hard but just ignore that staff worker. Compassionate she certainly is not. More concerned with her egotistical behaviour. How can she not realise that what she is saying is condescending ? I really detest it when people treat me like an idiot because of ageism . Poor S hope she feels better soon.29 years is a hell of a long time girl. Maybe Judith has an idea there. I'm sure she is saying it from a caring point of view. Mind you when I retired early I did not like having no regular income. That in its self can be darn stressful too. Had my Flu Vaccine and other shots and was told by my GP to go home and stay there. Didn't even get my hair cut sigh. You made me giggle with your Mending is not Craft. It actually is when you consider how many people these days do not know how to mend anything ha ha.
Milliefiori good for you repairing and mending things. My grandchildren were shocked to see me mending my favourite old woollen socks one day. Wanted to know what I was doing. They said " Mum just shucks our holey socks out Nan " ha ha. I'm still knitting that Blanket yikes. Its taking forever,

I's birthday today, 1 year till he is 65. His knees are playing up with this colder weather and he hasn't had his first race in the cart yet. LOL. I agree with your comment, makerealbany, about mending, especially darning, being a lost craft. Considering the lack of quality in most of the clothes we buy these days mending skills are needed more than ever. And laundry skills too! My son asked why his fathers ATV Club hoody is still nice and black while his has faded to a brownie colour when they are the same age. I explained that I always turn our clothes inside out when hanging them on the line. Showed him how much whiter t-shirts stay that way as well. His ex would never have known that till they lived with us during the earthquakes. Then it was just lack of effort and care. But now he knows. I am working on a wee aran jersey in silver gray. I love the effect but not sure I'll get it finished before Monday. Still getting a few headaches and falling asleep at the drop of a hat.

grizzly4 - 2020-03-21 10:59:00

I spent the afternoon receiving FaceTime calls lol. Baked a Carrot Cake in the slow Cooker and a loaf of bread. The rest of the time I knitted and watched TV. Lazy Day. This colder weather isn't impacting my joints yet touch wood, I did put my electric blanket on to warm the bed though ha ha. There are some really lovely items in the shop. Rest up while you can.

makerealbany - 2020-03-22 00:45:00
9465

Nope no rest. LOL. The virus is restricted half of the shop volunteers from working as they over 70 so having to work out a different roster and reduce opening times for the forseeable future. At least until the next level is announced then will have to rethink again, I guess. And then there is work and what should be put in place there...…. Thank goodness for my knitting. It brings my poor struggling brain back to a calmer place. Trouble will be if I end up at home knitting without a shop to sell it...….. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2020-03-22 11:02:00
9466

Well if that happens you will have a stash of knitting to sell when the shop does open. I'm keeping myself busy but forgot to put my watch on today so had no idea of time lol. You are right knitting can calm you down depending on the pattern of course ha ha. I'm experimenting with Bread baking. Today it was a yoghurt and Sesame Seed loaf. J picked it up from my outside table and said it was Yummy. Ive been making them in my Breadmaker but will try a different method tomorrow,

makerealbany - 2020-03-22 22:11:00
9467

Many years ago, pre breadmakers, I tried baking bread but could never get the proving process right. The most successful was the beer bread. LOL. Have you tried making bread rolls in your breadmaker? That is something I have always meant to try.

grizzly4 - 2020-03-23 07:20:00
9468

Yes I have made bread rolls in the Bread maker. Mind you I find it easier to make them from scratch. I find at this time of the year dough rises quickly. I have a store of Yeast . Thank goodness because you cannot buy it anywhere my daughters say. Sour Dough Bread does not require yeast or Rewana Bread, Its just feeding the plants for both that takes time but I have a lot of that now.

9469

Gosh you were up late last night, makerealbany! Well it's a very different world we live in today isn't it? I'm going in to work today to set up as much as I can to do from home. Most of our important funding rounds have just opened or are about to and I daren't not do them in case the funders are prepared to keep going remotely. The shop is closing today, of course, so all that knitting will just sit there now, not doing anyone any good unless the mail service continues and we can sell online. I haven't heard the mail mentioned at all yet. And I would still need to get the postal bags from somewhere. Sigh. Also realised I don't have buttons to match the wool I plan to knit for the next few projects. Story of my life. Too late now. Depending on how long we are stuck at home for I will have quite a pile ready for when shop reopens I guess. Millefiori, this might give you time to get back into crafting, do you think?

grizzly4 - 2020-03-24 07:37:00
9470

I'm losing track of time lol. I just keep plodding along ha ha. Still knitting that blanket because I threw it in the corner to sew up 2 jerseys. A neighbour dropped in a pile of lovely toys for little L but of course we wont see her for awhile so they will sit there. My poor neighbour dropped them off and my SIL brought them in for me. They are all covered in plastic. I stood on the deck and waved. J keeps forgetting I cant hug him. He knocks on the door and is about to race in and I have to tell him 'Space remember" He stops and blows kisses, He was really good the first few days ha ha. I'm not sure about mail. Milliefiori hope you are ok.

Nightmare of a day yesterday. Mostly technology stuff, trying to get organised to work from home but then our personal Netflix account was hacked and I was terrified they had access to our credit card as well which actually wasn't the case. Netflix were great in the end but it took an hour on live chat to get it sorted. Another new password to try and remember. I'm finding since that amnesia thing, I struggle to multi task and make decisions when I'm stressed. Hopefully 4 weeks at home will fix that. Luckily I have stacks of wool, a heap of books to read and 2 cross stitchs to work on. It will be interesting to see how much gets done. I have an Amagurumi crochet animal to make for someone as well. We'll see what happens about that. LOL. I told the men last night - the first one to look bored can start cleaning the inside of the all the windows. There are dozens of them, that'll fix them. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2020-03-25 07:10:00
9472

A and T are both working from Home. So we had better hope that technology does not et everyone down Please do not mention windows ha ha, I need to clean all mine on the outside again. The dust from the trees blows all over mine. I too have lots I can do. Blinking Hackers grrr. I spent ages checking by phone on my son who lives alone. ' Have you got this? Have you got that ? Etc I think I was a wee bit manic lol. My youngest son and I visited him a fortnight ago with lots of food and supplies. He lives not far from a Dairy. He has been so ill and we had hoped that his surgery would sought things out but he seemed to improve for awhile sigh. I'm actually going to bed early tonight. Feeling wrung out ha ha.

Some local brats tried to burn a tree in our local park. Thank heavens a neighbour noticed. So the neighbourhood is on watch now. Honestly where are their parents? I am plodding along doing bits and pieces and walking around outside on our Property to get fresh air. No motivation for gardening though ha ha. I have 150 grms of wool to go to finish the blanket.

makerealbany - 2020-03-28 20:31:00
9474

Is that all the blanket is going to take, or all you have left for it? I'm carefully watching what I start to make sure I have enough wool for each thing. Last thing I need is a pile of unfinished items at the end of 4 weeks. LOL. Bad enough about the buttons. I have knitted a wee cardy in 4 days - unheard of for me lately. Yesterday I made a shepherds pie and chocolate brownie and finished a book I started a Christmas. A very productive day.

grizzly4 - 2020-03-29 10:48:00
9475

I have read 3 books and sorted my hexies into Liberty fabric and non- Liberty. I’ve started piecing together some non-Liberties - the fabric patterns are similar but I don’t want to mix the fabrics (although there may be some exceptions). So 2 quilts may happen eventually. I have enough cross stitch to last indefinitely!!!
No flour in our supermarket and I have 1/4 packet left. BUT horror of horrors, the element in our stove has died, so no baking anyway. I will experiment with fan-grill - tried a google search to see if baking can be done with fan-grill, but I couldn’t find anything too hopeful. Certainly can’t afford to call out an emergency repair company, even if anyone would be prepared to come out!

millefiori - 2020-03-29 12:30:00
9476

Surely that's an essential service? I feel for you, millefiori. What really bad timing. You could try baking in your microwave, perhaps? Once you get flour that is. We finally found flour, sugar and cornflour back on the shelves on Saturday. I was completely out of all 3.
Sounds like you are well into these quilts. Good on you, Will you keep them when finished or are they already promised?
Cardy finished and I get to start a new project today, too. LOL. First though there's the end of month stuff for the shop and Payday filing for work. The good news for work is we have been paid the wage subsidy for our 3 full time workers. Such a relief.
My biggest problem is the 2 files I have left in my office that I need for the funding applications I'm doing this week. As no people contact involved at all I was just going to get them but the Police are coming down so heavy at present. And with reason I guess, but the one that stopped daughter S when she went to dairy for milk saying she should be going to Supermarket was pretty aggressive from all accounts. She can't leave her son home alone, can't take him into the shop so the dairy was the quickest for her while he sat in the car for 2 minutes. She tried to explain about the special needs involved but he wasn't having a bar of it and followed her home, which was just round the corner. Because of her mental and physical health I was hoping to include them in our 'bubble' - her house, her car, our house. No one else involved but apparently that's not going to happen. She has hospital treatments this week and can't take a support person either. So hard for her. Hard times for everyone in different ways.

grizzly4 - 2020-03-30 10:09:00
9477

Blanket finished, makerealbany?
I did quite a lot of book work for the shop and work yesterday then felt in the need for some physical exercise so I did the ironing. LOL. Desperate times. Far too wet yesterday to go outside.

grizzly4 - 2020-03-31 10:13:00
9478

Poor S sigh. Sounds like he was a bit over the top. I did online shopping today. A got her camping freezer out to use as our freezers are full. Milliefiori what a darn thing to happen. Have you got a slow cooker. You can cook bread in that.
Ive got about 50 grms to knit of the blanket. It took 700 to make.
We have had a devil of a time bringing one grandson home from Japan. He was on the last Air NZ flight from Japan. There were 6 other guys with him who worked there. He is never allowed back which is sad for him but it shows how serious NZ is about this, NZ Embassy were fantastic. My other grandson is still there much to his poor Mum's distress.

makerealbany - 2020-03-31 23:19:00
9479

Never allowed back to Japan? Why is that?
I have almost finished another cardy which has become a sleeveless jacket as not enough wool for sleeves. Haha, I knew it would happen eventually. Oh well, I'll put the bands around the armholes and it only needs one button so it will be more finished than the other 2 I've done. LOL.
Had a cream sponge for pudding last night but could only get the canned whipped cream so the top layer had slid off by the time we came to eat it. LOL. Still tasted good though with some ice cream.

Woke up yesterday feeling a bit blah but the day was amazing. Started off with a walk and met up with son S and grandson L in the park for a game with the whistling nerf ball. Came home to play petanque then found the dart board to set up outside and played while the lasagne that S made was heating through. I even worked on funding for a couple of hours in between. We also finished Lord of the Rings last night with a big bowl of popcorn. I day like that with so much laughing is so good for the sole and I'm back on track now. LOL. Cardy finished and now I'm using leftover bits for Barbie doll jackets and dolls bootees. Not wasting a thing.

Well, My cross stitch is turning out smaller than I expected. I know the Aida provided is finer (slightly) than I normally use but the picture itself is smaller than I thought. There is a lot of work in it and I am enjoying doing it but will have to figure where else to hang it once finished. It was one I purchased off Wish so need to be aware of that in future. I may have the same with the other one as bought from there too. I'd send you a photo but I can't load from my camera or phone just yet as I'm charging my remote control off road car/ bike thing at present so we can take it to the park when it warms up a bit. LOL.

I’m losing track of what day it is! I have some everyday work to do and it’s a good time to get on to some work I’ve been putting off for a while - it’s hiding under other stuff on my desk.
But the garden has been calling and I’m really enjoying tidying areas that have been neglected for years. I’ve read lots of books and watched some really good movies. My hexies are coming along slowly and look really pretty. And I’m loving being home with B and the boys.
Have you finished the blanket, makerealbany? Might be a bit hot to be knitting during the day - we’ve had mostly sunshiny, hot days this last week. But the nights are starting to get a little cooler.
Would love to see photos of your creations, grizzly. You’ve been really busy.
Thanks for your suggestions of microwave/slow cooker, girls. I hadn’t really thought any further than “no oven - enter panic mode” LOL. Apparently the supermarkets have 5kg and 20kg bags of flour now, so I’ll get a 5kg bag and get to know my previously unappreciated kitchen appliances.

See what I mean about the size? What I have done is goes half way up and half way across to give you an idea. Still I am enjoying doing it.
I know what you mean, millefiori, about the desk jobs that keep going to the bottom of the pile. I am working on some advertising and PR ideas I haven't had a chance to really get into which is great. Plus funding applications , of course, and a plan of activites for the Women's Group next term. That's all done bar one morning but just can't put dates on anything yet.
Apparently we put our clocks back tonight! That's a bit of a shock. Not expected yet at all.

Sorry yeah Ill get there. Sis not good. Cant go and see her. We also have E in a Coma but my Dil and her brothers can take her home today. She had a stroke early in the week and then a Brain Bleed. Its so hard for them although my son said the hospital staff were very good. It is not easy trying to arrange things and feeling helpless.
K cannot go back to Japan because they threatened him that if he left and was not back within three weeks when they start school again He was in breach of his contract. Duh. Fortunately for him he signed his Contract in NZ.
Yes milliefiori finished that cursed Blanket I need to sort out another project and W has lost his last Beanie again. He takes them off and leaves them in planes. My grand daughter wants a winter jumper again ha ha. I have had so many late nights and spend so much time on the phone. I think Ill call it a night early

I am sorry you and your family are having to go through so much on top of all the virus restrictions. Especially not being able to be with your sister. I'm trying to stay in phone contact with daughter S, daily but it's not the same at all, is it?
Next weekend will be the first Easter I haven't spent with my parents in over 10 years, I think, and as it will the longest time I haven't been to check in on them since Christmas. Mum is quite upset about it and I'm worried Dad's Parkinsons seems to be getting worse, I could barely understand what he was saying to me a few days ago.
It's not like we will be able to take time off work to go see them once Lockdown is over either.
Take care of yourself, makerealbany, I am thinking of you.

grizzly4 - 2020-04-05 10:03:00

E passed away today at home with her family around her. So now they have a Funeral to organise. Because she did not have the Virus they can have a few immediate family members there and she can be buried next to her Husband.
No it is not the same just being in phone contact at all grizzly.
That's so sad about your Mum and Dad you must be worried sick about them.
I'm trying to keep busy but you cant help feelings can you? A and S are progressing on painting their house. J runs up and down the hills to the paddocks below and rides his bike all over the place. M rides her bike as well so there something to be said for having lots of space here. I still have to keep away from them all as A has been to the Supermarket and we are all psychotic about J and I getting an infection. I'm feeling ok physically . I've cooked so much Bread lol Baked three Sour Dough Loaves today which turned out great. I also brewed 6 bottles of Rongoa which is a tonic made from Native Leaves. Tastes ok not as bitter as I thought it would. I have been drying Rosemary and Lavender so my Cottage smells great ha ha. I started a 12 ply Cardi for J . Another cropped one. I'm thinking of you too.

Very sad times, but I'm glad some family can come together for E. You must be having withdrawals with no contact time with your grandchildren. The bread sounds lovely but I don't know about the Rongoa, so much. LOL. I've finished a dolls jacket and now using up more bits on baby sox. We have got to the point where I need to do a weekly shop and I'm not sure I trust I. to get what we need. Haha. But not sure if I want to be in Supermarket for the time it would take.

9489

Oh makerealbany I am so sad for you. I just cannot think of words to make it feel better for you because there probably aren’t any words. Grizzly, it must be awful to be so worried about your Mum and Dad and not be able to be with them. I really can’t get my head around these strange times we are living through. I try not to think too deeply about the uncertainty of the future. I wish you both strength and peace and send hugs.
I’ve had to go twice to the supermarket. The first time was okay, but the mood was definitely more somber the second time - very little eye contact between shoppers and some people being very vocal if they thought you were closer than 2 metres. W22 has to work some days as he is in an essential business. Thankfully not every day as he starts at 6.30am and I drive him to work. I had a little meltdown when I first realised he’d have to work - I started thinking of that movie “I am Legend” and imagined him venturing out each day into some sort of zombie apocalypse (I think I’m mixing up movies here as well LOL). Anyway, everyone laughed at me and B reminded me that we’d be dropping him off AND picking him up each day. Well, mothers can’t help but worry, can they?
Your cross stitch looks lovely, grizzly. Yes, from the pack I would have thought it would be bigger. Maybe you could have it in the frame size you originally wanted but with a larger than usual border.

millefiori - 2020-04-06 15:54:00
9490

Well its a lot cooler in the mornings, I looked at your message milliefiori and thought what Cross stitch. Lol. I love cats. That looks very pretty. Maybe you could add a larger border as milliefiori said.
I had to laugh about the I am Legend movie as well. Very scary. It is easy to feel overwhelmed and somewhat psychotic lol. A is like my Warden ha ha. A very nice one never the less.
I had a grocery Delivery yesterday and things were missing. They say online they will substitute for missing items but they don't sigh. I tried to put another order in because this one took a week but they are totally booked out. Ah well its not like Ill starve ha ha.
I see Spotlight can sell essential items. Some people may need blankets and heaters soon.
I think Ill just relax and knit today. Amazon has some really good Movies . I may venture into the garden if it gets warmer but then I may not ha ha. Thanks for your kind thoughts girls.

It's a bit easier to get up earlier now that it's lighter sooner- but I don't like it being darker sooner at the other end. I've been sending out work emails to get quotes for our usual funding applications but some companies haven't set up from home to do the admin side of things. I hope they don't complain they are broke at the end. I am knitting baby socks still. White with stripes from the Opal sock yarn. Have to do 6 socks to get 3 matching pairs because of the variegated colours. Still they are pretty effective. I might have to get daughter S. over here once B goes back to his Dad's
'bubble'. Her cat has gone missing and I can feel her anxiety rising by the day. She sent me a newspaper item about extended bubbles for people living on their own and/or with mental health conditions. It means she can visit us but then I'm not sure the Police read the same message and getting stopped will escalate things for her. I told her to print off the information and have it with her in the car. Not sure that will help though.
Mum is having the same problem with her grocery order, makerealbany. Last time they forgot the bread but luckily dropped in 2 loaves within a couple of hours. They also switched Swiss Cheese for the Swiss Crème biscuits she wanted. LOL.

S's cat has returned home after 2 days away. Thank goodness for that, losing him would have put her over the edge completely. Disaster averted, phew!
3 pairs of almost matching sox done. LOL. New Project to decide on today.
Had a down day, myself, yesterday, got heaps down but not feeling great. Finally took myself off to Supermarket for mental health shopping, if you know what I mean. Cost a fortune but I at least have an Easter egg for each of us for the weekend and enough chocolate and pudding ideas to keep me happy. Just knowing it's in the house makes me feel happy. Don't necessarily need to eat it......much. LOL. Today is family pizza making day, the men are into creating a Mexican pizza and L12 and I will do Hawaiian I think. Couldn't get pizza pizza bases so making our own. Fingers crossed. LOL.

OK that worked. Glad S got her cat back. I have finished the back of the Cardi. Its Plain because the older grandchildren don't like patterns lol. Easy to knit between baking etc. I'm too tired to repeat my long message . Drat will catch up tomorrow.

Happy Easter everyone! No work for me for 4 days. Haha. Didn't stop me from checking emails this morning though. Sigh. My priorities this weekend since my usual trip to Blenheim isn't possible are to finish another cardy for the shop, search all my cupboards for hidden stashes of buttons and sew on to completed items, some mending, clear out the carrot patch and hopefully someone round here will clear out the guttering before we get any more rain. LOL. And of course there is always cooking to do.

I'm quite impressed with how much I have got done in a couple of weeks. LOL. AND I found enough buttons. In fact I cleaned up my button containers so I have a better idea of what I have. And then I worked on my cross stitch and watched movies. How lazy was that?! LOL.

Good for you grizzly. I even got in the garden today and did some pruning and planting. I'm up to the armholes on the jersey. Haven't had time to knit tonight. I was baking Carrot Cake and Sourdough Bread ha ha. I'm eating like a horse lol. Cant seem to eat Easter Eggs though. I had a small one today and I felt really awful afterwards. Concentrated Chocolate no longer agrees with me .
I got out some winter jerseys today as it is getting cooler in the mornings. I do not need to buy any Clothes this Winter. Cleaning out cupboards and Drawers makes you realise that you have far too many clothes. I found socks and underwear still in the packets ? Cannot even remember buying them. Bonus found a box of Disposable Gloves and more Tissues. My kids call my Cottage a Tardis ha ha.
Little L my youngest grand daughter who will be 1 on Anzac Day is walking everywhere. My son sends me Videos . I miss my other grandchildren sigh. Although I get lots of phone calls and FaceTime with them.
A and S are doing well painting the house. All the neighbours yell out over the fences as they go for their walks offering advice like ' You missed a Spot ' Ha ha. We have a good Community here.
That's a lovely lot of Knitting. You have been productive. My son told me L hasn't many Winter clothes. I told him to ask her mother where are all the size 1 and 2 Dresses and Tops I knitted her as well as all the winter clothes her Aunties have bought her. He said he was going to search the containers that are stashed downstairs. Honestly If we were not in Lockdown I would go and find them myself. Some Mothers are just idiots grrr. I felt quite annoyed to say the lest.
We spend so much time making Clothing arrrrg.
Anyway S is hoping it does not rain until the painting is done and so do I. After all its taken 15 years to paint the outside of the house. No excuses about no time now ha ha

It would be like Christmas finding all that forgotten stuff. Haha,

Had a phone call this morning from my Mum. Dad had another seizure this morning and she had to hold him up from falling off the breakfast bar stool for 30 minutes. I'm not sure whether he regained consciousness or the ambulance arrived first. He is in hospital now but Mum couldn't go with him and the Retirement Village wouldn't allow us in to be with her all though I will push that point if I need to get up there. Their villa has a street entrance and exit, we don't have to go through the Village at all.

I rang to check on Mum before lunch yesterday and Dad answered the phone !!! He was at the hospital barely half an hour, they said it was low blood pressure and needed to see his GP this week. They sent him on his own to the waiting room to call his own taxi to get home! Now tell me how safe is that, covid-19 or otherwise for an 86 year old with Parkinsons and very unsteady on his feet who has just been unconscious for 30 minutes?
Having said that Mum was so pleased to have him back.

That's awful grizzly. I really feel for you. I cant believe they did that. You must be worried sick about your Dad and Mum.
The feelings of helplessness is something many people are going through at this time.
My computer is still playing up. I could not even see messages on TM when I tried last night. Grrrr cant wait until my son can visit and fix it for me. I had to cancel my credit card with the bank. They are sending me a new one because someone has been paying for Top Ups on Spark and Vodafone with my card for two months. I left it on a shop counter a few months ago for about 10 minutes and that's the only time it has been out of my hands. So they are doing an investigation.
Its raining here and the garden is starting to look healthy. I've nearly finished the fronts on the Cardigan,
Take care and I am glad your Dad is home.
