weather great going to be sunny all day and I am on top of the world and page, what more could a girl ask for, Edited by carolev at 7:24 am, Tue 26 Apr carolev - 2016-04-26 07:24:00
morning ladies :) You sound much brighter this morning carole :) have a few things to do outside today, bins will be emptied so I can fill one again with the overflowing garden waste in the wheelbarrow. I finished the back to a wee cardy for our granddaughter last night, it looks so pretty in pastel variegated wool. Decided I would play chicken with the wool and see if I can squeeze the pattern out of it. happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2016-04-26 07:40:00
Morning everyone Our lawn boys arrived at 8-20 am lol.. Then the ffather left to pump the tyres on the ride on mower, and left the son to weed eat and start mowing where the ride on cant reach. Hes done all that and started where the ride on usually does.. The father must be yakking lol I'm worn out, and Ive just started the day.. had massive heart racing through the night. I should see the dr, cos its happening too often again. Im assuming my body has become too used to the meds Im on. They told me when they put me on them, that eventually they wont work, I guess Im at that point. And they said if they did start failing I would need a pacemaker. Soo I best see if I can see the dr... I cant carry on like this, and over the last few months its getting more often and worse. And while Im sleeping so its scary. Will see my friend later, shes 51 today.. I got her a candle and oil set in Jasmine, I'm hoping that's the one to relax with Have a good day all popeye333 - 2016-04-26 08:57:00
Morning Was given a gift voucher for the cinemas for my birthday so thought we could use it yesterday and see Hunt for the Wilder people but all sessions except the 8.30pm one was sold out and we decided that BiL would probably sleep through that one. I very seldom go to the pictures but had heard good reviews for this one. Had a nice relaxing day at home instead with a good book and knitting, finished the bolero but started a shawl with some wool I had dyed so still have 3 things on the go! Have a good day all jayemtoo - 2016-04-26 09:09:00
Morning ladies, well maybe I spoke too soon when I said mr ks behaviour was almost back to normal yesterday, because through the afternoon his behaviour just got more and more bizarre, Paul said his father was "weirding me out" ! Very difficult to watch. He didn't sleep at all during the day and was still behaving weirdly at 2.30 this morning, so he'd been on the go over 24 hours. This morning he says he doesn't feel any good. And that stupid daughter of his can't see why when he's asleep I won't disturb him. Stupid woman. Needless to say I did no knitting or crochet yesterday. I actually don't feel as bad as I expected after stacking all the firewood, nor after drinking a whole bottle of wine myself over the course of the afternoon/evening/night. It was over a period of about 7 hours or more. Paul managed to pull the wall oven out and retrieved the broken element, it's actually physically broken in 2 places. Hope I can get a replacement. Let's hope today is a better one. Hospice nurse is coming today sometime. Have a super day everyone. Edited by kuaka at 9:25 am, Tue 26 Apr kuaka - 2016-04-26 09:23:00
*huggsss* kuaka, it is very difficult I know. Mum refused to sleep as she was afraid she would die in her sleep and would wander around at night. Towards the end the hospice nurse stayed overnight to let us sleep. I was also working night shifts so was used to be awake at weird hours so would stay up with her on the nights I wasn't working. Talk to the hospice nurse today and tell her what is happening. She may stay overnight occasionally for you as well just to let you all sleep without the worry. kiwimade64 - 2016-04-26 10:07:00
Thanks kiwimade, I need a few hugs right now. Well we have a meeting scheduled for 1pm today with the hospice nurse, family support, Paul and myself, and the carer is also due at 1pm to attend to his personal hygiene. For sure, it's the meds which aren't agreeing with him at the moment, so hopefully they can sort something out which is more suitable for him. Paul said he was acting yesterday as though he was on P (not that I would know as I've never had anything to do with drugs or drug addicts) Fingers crossed I have a better day as it progresses. Edited by kuaka at 11:04 am, Tue 26 Apr kuaka - 2016-04-26 11:04:00
More Hugs your way Kuaka... And all my fingers crossed for you. Our med centre is flat out with drs away for school holidays. And I don't feel like seeing one that doesn't know me at all. So I have an appointment for Monday Morning. The receptionist juggled things around for me. popeye333 - 2016-04-26 12:35:00
Lots of Hugs coming your way Kuaka. sunflowers28 - 2016-04-26 17:53:00
Thanks ladies, your support does mean a lot to me. We have had a much quieter day today (I don't think I would survive another like yesterday, it was just crazy crazy stuff). The ladies from hospice said if he has another episode like that to just call St Johns and they ambulance will take him straight to hospital and they can stabilise him there. The hospice doctor has changed his med and if he's no better by tomorrow afternoon, it will be hospital, but he's been asleep all day and is more settled tonight. I didn't have quite such a wonderful day as I decided to do the vacuuming while everything was quiet and got too close to the c2c blanket I'm working on: https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/473131359.jpg Bugger, was all I could mutter. The pic shows it after I'd already laboriously unravelled several metres of wool. Paul to the rescue, he pulled the roller off the vacuum, unravelled the wool and put the vacuum back together again. I've done it before but never this bad. The vacuum is on a very limited life here, I've never liked it, I inherited it when I met Mr K, so it is going to be one of the first things that goes, iykwim. Hope everyone is getting on with their crafts. Might try to do some crochet tonight. kuaka - 2016-04-26 19:30:00
Morning ladies, well after posting my previous message I fell asleep in the chair, woke to find myself alone, Paul was exhausted and had gone to bed. I decided to go to bed too, but when I got to the bedroom Mr K was in a heap in the doorway of the en suite, I tried and tried to get him up but couldn't, called Paul and he said "call the ambulance". It took two ambulance officers and Paul to get him up and back onto the bed. Then after discussion with St Johns people and hospice I reluctantly sent him back to hospital so they can hopefully stabilise him. Whether he comes home again or goes to hospice depends on how successful the hospital is at stabilising him and controlling the pain without a repeat of the horrendous episode of Monday. The ambulance officers phoned the fire brigade for help to get Mr K down the stairs, and as I stood watching these four hefty firemen trooping into the bedroom I said "I've never had so many men in my bedroom in my life". So today I have to phone the hospital to see how he is and if they know what is going to happen yet. Apparently the nearest hospice is Whangarei. Again no knitting. Have a super day everyone. kuaka - 2016-04-27 07:31:00
Dear Kuaka.........big hugs, prayers and good wishes to you. sunnysue1 - 2016-04-27 07:39:00
morning ladies :) oohh heck (you know I want to say something stronger!) kuaka. You did the right thing, there is no way you could have lifted him and St Johns and firemen have the proper lifting techniques. Hopefully he will be able to come home soon. I did have to laugh at your wool (sorry lol) as it is something I have done. But my old tellus just sucks it straight into the bag and there is no rescuing it. I'm off to Waikato Hospital this morning, dad was taken to hospital by ambulance over the weekend with tummy pains. After a CT scan they found it wasn't cancer so now we wait and see if they can figure out what the pain is. sunnysue, you know the risks of visiting this thread lol... happy knitting :) Edited by kiwimade64 at 7:54 am, Wed 27 Apr kiwimade64 - 2016-04-27 07:53:00
Kiwimade, sorry to hear about your Dad, and hope they soon find out what the problem is and it's nothing serious. Not cancer is a great start. kuaka - 2016-04-27 08:15:00
Morning All Kiwimade do hope they find your dad's problem quickly and get it sorted, thinking of you too as always a worry not knowing what is causing a pain. On a brighter note so good to see someone new on here sunnysue - welcome and looking forward to seeing your efforts lol. I hate crocheting with a vengeance so no way will be doing a 2c2 unlesss it is knitted. Have found a boottee pattern which I just must do before the weekend - oh dear will then have 4 wip which is most unusual for me, once they are done I will just have to be strong willed and finish off at least 2 of the other ones before starting anything else even though I have the wool and patterns ready. jayemtoo - 2016-04-27 08:55:00
Kuaka - sorry to hear of your latest troubles, but did have to laugh at your poor wool wound round the vacuum (sorry, couldn't help myself). Hope your news is better today. Lots of hugs. tinybaldone - 2016-04-27 09:01:00
GRRR typed a heap and it vanished. So I'm going to condense things Kiwimade I hope your dad improves and they figure out what the problem is. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2016-04-27 09:31:00
Kuaka, I am so sorry about Mr K. It is an awful time for you I know, but you did the right thing to call the ambulance. So glad Paul is there at the moment, and also glad that his daughter didn't come. I have decided that the jersey I was knitting for myself is going to go to my son in law. Sounds weird, but the pattern is for men or women, and he is so cold. There is nothing as warm as hand knitted things. I just have to sew it up, so that will hurry me up. I always enjoy knitting for other people and not so much for myself. I hold you in my thoughts Kuaka, hoping for a better day for you. rosynana - 2016-04-27 09:34:00
hugs all I been very buzy made 12 oneies today carolev - 2016-04-27 17:42:00
morning ladies :) Back up to the hospital for me, it seems dad's bowel is shutting down and he won't survive surgery. So not sure what they plan to do today. I finished a sleeve and am halfway through a second sleeve, starting to really play chicken yardage now. Need enough to finish the sleeves and do the bands. If I loose the race, I'll unpick the long sleeves and make short sleeves instead so it can be a 'spring' cardy. Looks really pretty though in soft pastels. Even dad liked it lol. Happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2016-04-28 07:20:00
Don't know if any of you ladies received a Spotlight e mail but they are offering a $5 discount on purchases. On top of the VIP card, it's a few more $$$$$ saved. kiwimade64 - 2016-04-28 07:22:00
Morning Lovely day here again we have been so fortunate with the weather for the holidays this time. jayemtoo - 2016-04-28 08:29:00
Morning everyone We have no sun.. but its not cold. I winterised my bed yesterday, With Missys help of course.. And then the night was hot cold hot cold lol. Im very worried about my state of mind.. lol.... No craft again yesterday, and then I started doing housework.. We don't use the bath but it sure gets dusty etc, so at about 4pm there I was cleaning the bathroom and enjoying it... I need a quack lol.. Shopping this morning. then off to my diabetes check. Ill do my bloods before I go to the appointment tho. Have as good a day as you can everyone popeye333 - 2016-04-28 08:59:00
Morning Do hope all is going ok with the patients thoughts and hugs Kuaka and Kiwimade. jayemtoo - 2016-04-29 08:03:00
morning ladies :) It would seem dad has some sort of blockage so they are using a scope today to see what is what again. I've finished a wee cardy for our granddaughter so will post a pic when the light is better or I come home from the hospital, whatever comes first :) I won the chicken yardage game and even had a smidgen of wool left over - even after stitching it together and sewing on the buttons. Am so pleased I stuck with it as I bought the wool for the pattern and think I would have been disappointed if I had to use other wool. Thinking of you today kuaka. Happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2016-04-29 08:24:00
Good Morning Ladies. It's another bright sunny day here in The Bay. sunflowers28 - 2016-04-29 08:47:00

morning all. nearly finished jacket off out today carolev - 2016-04-29 09:14:00
Lovely little jacket Kiwimade - soft and girlie. Hope the news is good for your dad - will be thinking of you. tinybaldone - 2016-04-29 09:26:00
That is so cute Kiwimade and you sure cut it fine wool-wise. jayemtoo - 2016-04-29 09:28:00
Morning ladies, well Mr K won't be coming home, he is still with us, but I'm told it would be unkind to move him. We went to visit late yesterday afternoon but he was not the Mr K I know and love, he didn't know me, although he did squeeze my hand a few times, but seeing how rapidly he had deteriorated, I sent a message to his witch of a daughter saying if she wanted to say goodbye she had better get to the hospital. So an hour later she arrived with her boyfriend, her sister and her sisters 3 kids, and they all just stood against the walls of the room, with the witch just glaring and glaring at me, till eventually I said "what are you staring at?" Not one of them spoke to either of us, not one of them made a move towards the bed. The boyfriend didn't introduce himself to Paul, who has never met him. So they waited in deafening silence for about 3 minutes then left, we stayed a while longer, then went looking for them. Served trespass notices on both the sisters then came home. Not one of them shed a tear or showed any emotion apart from the witch who was obviously so consumed with anger she daren't say anything or she would explode. So sad times ahead, well sad time right now. Paul has delayed his flight for a week, he was scheduled to fly out tomorrow morning but now leaves on 7th unless it's necessary for him to stay longer. I think it will be all over in a few days time. Needless to say, no knitting or crochet. Hope you have a better outcome for your Dad, kiwimade. Hope everyone is having better days than me. kuaka - 2016-04-29 11:09:00
HUgs for you and Paul Kuaka.. a trying time for you to come.. Im soo proud of for serving the trespass notices.. They cant go anywhere near you now, unless you happen to meet at the hospital. Im glad Paul is staying longer.. Id guess the Witches know they are beaten, hence the wordless fuming. You allowed as many tears as you need.. let them go, its better than holding them in. Take care popeye333 - 2016-04-29 12:22:00
Dear Kuaka, big hugs for you. This will be quite a mind numbing time for you I guess. What horrible daughters (witches), how can they be so heartless and cruel. I am thinking of you, and hope you are ok. Glad Paul is staying, he will be your strength at the moment. Take care of yourself too. rosynana - 2016-04-29 13:04:00
dad is going to be fine, he's got something that ends in -itis, a bowel irritation so will be fine once the meds kick in and as long as he watches his diet. kuaka, I am so sorry you have had to deal with the daughters, what nasty people they are. And well done on serving the trespass notices, that was a very brave thing to do. Thinking of you. kiwimade64 - 2016-04-29 15:31:00
Kuaka as a long term lurker and occasional contributer to this thread my heart weeps for you - when you were readying the boat to go on your trip way back before Mr K had his fall I was going on that trip with you -your writing was so inclusive -we were living in Australia at the time I was very homesick and I eagerly read your post everyday - life sometimes can take a very cruel turn - those young women are disgusting one can only hope Mr K was not aware how they were treating you and him in that room today - I know words from a complete stranger can not compensate for the appalling way they treated you today but try to dwell on the good times you and Mr K shared gerry64 - 2016-04-29 15:53:00
My thoughts are with you Kuaka, thank you for finding the time and inclination to post on here. Pleased for your family Kiwimaid. marywea - 2016-04-29 16:30:00
morning ladies :) I'm off to stay with our daughter for the weekend, she is full nesting mode lol so I'm going to help her with her windows and so on. Thanks for the kind comments about the wee cardy, funny how when I think I'm going to run out of wool, I knit faster! Have started another hoodie as our grandy just loved the first one and that is the only jumper she will keep on. Bit tricky when it comes to washing it. kuaka, my thoughts are with you, hopefully you are looking after yourself. Lovely Paul is staying a bit longer, lean on him for a bit. Take care. Happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2016-04-30 07:44:00
Morning Hugs and thoughts Kuaka (and Paul) so sorry that the daughters are making this an even unhappier time what sad people they must be. I'm off to Wellington once I get organised to catch up with nieces and do a bit of baby sitting of 2 & 4yr olds, all good fun. Knitting packed but not much else yet! Have a good day All jayemtoo - 2016-04-30 08:32:00
big hugs Carol , hope the bitchy witchy daughters stay away, I am on my second baby jacket now, think I have miss E's tummy bug spending a lot of time in the throne room carolev - 2016-04-30 09:01:00
Morning Everyone Thinking of you Kuaka.. Im glad you have Paul there. And I know in my heart he will still be there for you after too. MrP is still in bed, said he feels flat, so its nice and quiet here without the tv on. Im going to vac.. Ohh I hate vacuuming.. And fold yesterdays washing. Tomorrow Im going to go through the freezers and top the rubbish bags up with anything too old.. Still nothing happening craftwise.. Although Im thinking I might start some peggy squares , using all my nuggets of wool. And buy some black to edge them all later. I have heaps of nuggets , so they can just be random colours. popeye333 - 2016-04-30 09:28:00
Very cool here today after lovely sunny weather sunflowers28 - 2016-04-30 10:06:00

Morning ladies, well yesterday morning I got the phone call I was dreading, to say that mr k passed away during the night, so we brought him home, he is lying in state in the billiards room that he loved, and his funeral is tomorrow. Nothing more to say really. kuaka - 2016-05-01 06:37:00
Morning everyone. I started a blanket last night using all my nuggets. I took an hour going through them and rewinding them up. No set colours Im just using what fits. Totally random, From tiny bits for the first round to the bigger balls for the larger ones. Im going to be strict and once Ive done 5 Ill sew in the ends. I will edge them in Black. Going to attack the freezers today.. That's going to be fun.. might find some surprises there. Hugs Kuaka Have a good day all popeye333 - 2016-05-01 09:23:00

Thank you everyone, I still feel rubbish but not as bad as I did yesterday. It was just awful yesterday. Once tomorrow is over I am going to try to focus on the good times we had (and there were lots in the early days) and forget the last two years as they have been very hard. Neither of us have had any quality of life since Mr Ks accident. At least he is no longer in pain. kuaka - 2016-05-01 10:45:00
