I reckon you can never have too much wool either

It will take me longer than the weekend to put the blanket together Jayemtoo.. 19 rows of 19 squares.

My stupid shoulder has pinched again, so Ill be even slower... Things must need tightening up in there so it wont move and pinch lol..

Still calm here now.. but very humid. MrP even asked for the air con to be on in the car which is rare.

Hes very tired this afternoon so Ill be sending him off to bed when hes finished his lunch.. We took a while up the street so running behind lol

Well Mr K is still in bed, he's only been up and dressed for an hour (Tuesday) since he came out of hospital a week ago. He seems to have given up. I am concerned that he will end up with pneumonia and that will finish him off. He doesn't seem in the least bit interested in doing anything other than staying in bed.

Must be very hard for you Kuaka.. Is he still eating and drinking?
Wonder if a call from Paul would make him consider getting up again.

morning ladies :) Wind and rain has died down but omg thank goodness for the rain.

I'm picking our son up today as he is visiting for Easter and our daughter along with her wee family may be visiting sometime over the weekend as well.

I bought enough yarn to knit our grandy another jumper for the total cost of $6 :) It's a lovely dusty pink and a very very soft crylic. Now to find the pattern to match the yarn. Up to row 17 of the tablecloth, the thread I'm using is lighter in weight than my old cloth but will see how I go.

Is it just me or is Spotlight cutting back on things like embroidery thread and crochet cotton. Their supplies over the past few months (Hamilton branch) have been terrible. Used to be able to find what I needed but not anymore.

Have a happy Easter and happy knitting :)

Morning everyone.
I haven't looked re the crochet cotton Kiwimade. but I noticed our Oppy had a few bags of it yesterday.. in some lovely mauve colours.. I didn't need it tho, I didn't look at the price but I did think of Cat when I saw it.

Warm foggy start here.. I love fog, it makes me happy lol. Its lifted now so will be another hot day Im thinking.

Ive joined two rows of squares and about half way on joining them together. Its looking good so far.
Its not a complicated design, but just the thought that I designed it and am making it pleases me.

My shoulder is an utter mess, Im going to have to ask my friend if she will vacc the floor.. I hate doing it but just moving my arm forward hurts like heck, even on codeine.

I was lucky enough to be online last night when a lady was adding acrylic to the destashers group for free.. So I actually managed to grab some. Yay

Happy Easter everyone, Have a fab day

Morning
Lovely bit of rain overnight and still dull and cool so having a nice "quiet" start to the day - coffee, book and knitting whilst turning a blind eye to everything else!!

Sewed buttons on 3 little garments yesterday so they are ready to go to new owners, nearly finished boy's Jersey and knitting stripey one for a bit bigger girl.
Brought 5 lots of naked sock wool yesterday but not really the best weather for dying it so will have to wait (unless I get impatient later today haha).

Have a good day all

Morning ladies, well I'm not happy this morning as my ipad seems to have died, turned it on this morning, and before I could swipe my code in, it just went black and refuses to turn on again. I'm hoping it just needs a new battery, but I have no idea. Bugger!

At least I slept better last night that I did the night before, so maybe I'll feel a bit brighter today. I suppose I should get up and find out.

Started a little cardigan yesterday, it's 4 ply and knitted top down, at the moment I seem to have stitch markers everywhere and don't seem to have the right size interchangeable needle (or at least can't find it) so I'm using long straights at the moment and hate them, so might have to resort to an old fixed circular. Also did some squares for charity and sorted out some beanies for another charity.

Have to go to town today, but no other plans.

Have a super day everyone.

morning ladies :) Have you tried rebooting it kuaka? Don't know about ipads but some devices have a pin hole you push the end of a paper clip in and it resets it back to default.

I found some old photos the other day so will scan them as there were no negatives with them. They are quite precious as some of the people in the photos have since passed away.

Son is home, the Furry One is in doggy heaven as son adores him. One thing about flatting, he misses his animals.

Picking away at my cloth, so far it's looking like the pattern so all good lol. Decided I might knit the last cardigan I knitted for our grandy again in the cheap yarn I bought. This time in a bigger size. Should look pretty in a dusty pink.

Happy knitting :)

Ipad is working again. I asked a friend who uses hers all the time (she's on her second one) and she said to do a "full reset" by holding both buttons at the same time, and it worked. Very relieved. I want to buy a new overlocker before replacing the ipad.

Morning
Thanks for that bit of info re iPads Kuaka, so pleased that it worked for you and just hope I never have to do it but I would surely miss my iPad if it stopped working.

Another dull day but the garden has enjoyed the rain and might get a few weeds out now ground softer.
Find
Finished all the boys tops yesterday but have ended up with nearly enough brown wool for another top, will have to think about that. Started sleeves on stripey Jersey which won't take long being DK.

Have a good day all

Morning everyone'
Glad you have the ipad sorted Kuaka... Id have asked a guy in one of the fb groups mn in, if you hadn't got it sorted.. Ive seen the tip about pressing both buttons, but I don't have an ipad so would have wanted to check.

My pain was soo bad yesterday I nearly took an oxycontin.. but today its just there not causing too many troubles.. So long as I don't put my hands above my head lol.. Not easy with long hair. But its up, just wont get into a bun today.

I have to pop up the road to get my banking done finally.. and get some milk.
Its dull here , Just how I like it lol.

Ive got 4 rows joined, but half way on joining the rows together.. Having to change colours putting them together is taking a bit longer than whizzing straight through. But I know it will look better for my work.

Right I better hustle my butt and get things done.

Have a fab day all

morning ladies :) The Furry One has pushed his way into our son's room again and is snuggled up with him. He's going to be one very happy dog today as his favourite little person is coming for a visit. Our grandy will be here around morning tea time with our daughter and son-in-law so the house will be rather full.

That was a lucky find at the oppy popeye, did you buy the cotton? Yeah Cat loves purple lol. She showed me the square she crocheted in deep purple cotton for the beginning of her tablecloth and it looked great! Mines in plain old white but that's because I have a neutral type of green on the walls and I need white to add 'brightness' to the dining room.

I bought MrK a Samsung tablet yesterday in the closing down sale I went too and managed to buy it for below cost price. He loves it so even though his birthday is in May, we decided that was his gift. I've had a tutu and can see I'll love it too lol. He picked up how to use it quickly too, amazing how a couple of years ago he didn't want to use a computer!

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone... Well Mid morning lol.. We are getting later and later lol.

I didn't buy the Cotton Kiwimade, but Im going there on Tuesday so Ill check the price incase Cat might be interested.

Is MrKs birthday around ours too?

The furry one will be loving his visitors lol.

My Battery died yesterday, after dinner I just sat, didn't have the energy to do anything. MrP said maybe Ive been overdoing the crochet with my bung shoulder.
So I watched TV haha with nothing in my hands and I know I missed some of it. And I slept like a log

Im going to try and do the floor today.. Ill put it on a light suck and get the worst done anyway.

Will be more blanket later. Ive got 4 rows joined.. Another with the squares joined, ends to sew in. Im doing them in lots of two rows, so its not all on my knee for so long.

Have a fab day everyone..

Don't east Too many eggs lol

popeye333 - 2016-03-27 09:49:00
9169

morning ladies :) Yes, Popeye, MrK's birthday is towards the end of May as well as our wedding anniversary.

The Furry One was exhausted by the end of the day, the secret to tuckering out a Jack Russell is having a two and a half year old running round with him! They were awesome together, both had big grins on their faces as they were racing round.

Im mowing lawns today. Because of the rain we have had over the past week it just hasn't been done. Will take a bit longer I think looking at how long it is but oh well, has to be done.

Am beavering away with my cloth, up to row 20 and the pattern is beginning to take shape.

Happy knitting

Morning everyone.

Up early in case the lawn man decides to do lawns today. Its thick and long

I went for a very long time of not knowing many taureans and now the list is growing.

I can imagine Maddy giggling as she chased the Furry one and him chasing her... lol

Started my scarf last night but Ive made a mistake in the pattern, so its put aside until Jo sends me a written copy.

Managed to add two more rows to my blanket, its getting heavy already... 6 rows done.. I should get two done today.. So Ill go from being a 1/3 done to nearly half. Its starting to look good.

My shoulder seems to have righted itself.. Tender but painfull.. But annoying lol.. Putting my long hair up isn't a great start to the day lol.

Have a fab day everyone

9171

Morning
Another lovely day here everything looks clean after the bit of rain we have had. Just need to tell the lawns not to grow though!

Knitted 3 little beanies yesterday while reading, nearly used up all my nuggets of sock wool but have 3 bigger lots which need using but will probably make those into little singlets. Should then have quite a bit to deliver to the 2 health centres I try and get some to each winter.

Need a few things from the supermarket so hope it hasn't gone crazy seeing as it was shut yesterday. Then a bit of baking as on morning tea for Mainly Music tomorrow as even though it is a school holiday the leaders have decided to still have it and here i was thinking I would dodge having to bake haha.

Have a good day all.

jayemtoo - 2016-03-28 09:28:00

Morning ladies, what a fabulous day it was yesterday - spoiled only by a visit from two of Mr K's daughters, one of which I've never met - the visit didn't go well and ended even worse. I doubt I'll see either of them again for a while (well we can always hope!) By the time they had left I felt like a piece of chewed string.

It looks like being another lovely day today, so I'm planning on rowing out to the boat to check it and hopefully run the motor. There is no wind at the moment and the tide will be high in a while, so it's looking good. Just need to get organised.

And if I do get out to the boat, I shall just relax for the rest of the day and do some knitting. I'm quite liking the way the little 4ply cardi is working out so far.

Have a super day everyone.

Buggar kuaka, why are some people so damed unpleasant. Such a waste of energy.

Sounds like you are beavering along as well popeye, just in time for winter.

We had "six spits" on the window and that was it lol

I proved to MrP 20 mins ago that the reason I hang on to stuff, is cos I will use it eventually.

Ive wanted to raise the Sky box and blue ray player, but have no idea how to raise the shelf they sit on.

So in the last 24 hours Ive been thinking about what I would need. Eight things to lift both boxes in total. Idea went through my mind , and I even looked up egg cups on the net, such and the warehouse and briscoes.

At some stage I thought, wow with all the meat paste Ive been using I should have saved the jars.
Jars... I had them, they are marcona jars I got last year and told MrP then I would use them all eventually.
So the boxes are both sitting up at a better height, the sky box on the jar part and the blueray on the lids.

Only have 4 large jars left out of a total of 30 odd I got lol..

And im happy with the look cos I have marbles in the two front jars..

See MrP, that's why us women save things, we DO use them lol

Well done popeye!

Well I'm home safely from the boat, not my best trips I must admit. No sooner arrived than the chap we have given our little fishing boat (Kuaka) to came over and was chatting, so then I hopped in the dinghy and started rowing, only got about 50 metres off shore and realised my feet were getting wet - I'd forgotten to put the bungs in (never done that before). So a frantic row back ashore, let the dinghy drain then put the bungs in and take off again. Made it safely to the boat, wasn't too bad against the tide. Bilge was dry, little bit of water under the front hatch so that still needs work, checked the oil in the motor and ran the motor, checked the diesel, then put a coat of stain on everything I stained last time, plus a coat on the kitty house. Still haven't done the dog-house, that's a bigger job and involves removing covers, plus I don't have enough stain for that. So had a cup of coffee and rowed almost all the way back when I remembered I hadn't turned off the sea cock for the engine, so back I went, tide was really pouring out so had extreme trouble actually getting alongside the boat and getting aboard, but just as well I did as the sea cock was open. So back against the tide, almost ashore and it poured with rain. Grrrr! I had help to drag the dinghy up the beach (just as well as I'm knackered). Mr K sound asleep in bed.

Cup of tea, then a shower and probably a glass of wine before I think about cooking tea.

OMG Kuaka what a Mission... I bet your glad that's over with for now.

Ive got two rows joined, ready to be added to the main piece of the blanket. So it will be done before Bed. Sewing in the ends takes the most of the time. Cos I'm changing colours a fair bit.. But it will be worth it.

Not hungry so Ive made myself a smoothie for my dinner.. MrP has bacon and egg pie I made before he went to hospital.. soo no cooking really YAY.

Morning everyone.
Yep up early again.. I have an appointment at the med centre, the last of my little chat sessions lol.. Cos I have multiple complaints. Thn Ill do my blood while Im there.
Now have 8 rows together.. Its getting heavy and is roughly 2,30 metres wide. Ive decided to do 2 lots of 4 rows and join then the last of three, so I only have the bulk on my knee three times. Even at half the width its enough to cover my legs lol.

Lawns should be done today.

Probably just working on my blanket today, everything else is done.

What a mammoth effort Kuaka - you could almost join the olympic rowing team after all that lol.

morning ladies :) WOW kuaka, no wonder you were knackered, and the wine was well deserved!

I'm off back outside as I have some lavender plants to plant and the old ones to dig out. Am having a shuffle round in the garden this autum/winter. There are tall plants in the front blocking smaller ones thanks to the previous owner and MrK, so now is the time to get stuck in.

Some crochet this afternoon but I also have to prepare some lessons as I'm in the classroom tomorrow.

Happy knitting :)

Morning ladies, well being knackered is no guarantee of a good nights sleep, especially when I've nodded off twice in the chair during the evening. Never mind - worse things happen at sea. I've got a blister on my bum from the hard wooden seat and my biceps are telling me that they didn't enjoy yesterday.

Better get a into g as I have to nip to town to check the mail and it's my afternoon out, as long as Mr K is okay with me going.

Cooler this morning, I've already been down the road to put the rubbish out (it is collected from the next street down as we're on a sharp bend on the main road) and when I got back I realised I hadn't emptied the kitchen tidy. Oh well, too bad.

I'm on the hunt today for my credit card statement, can't seem to find it and it needs paying in a few days, so that's my mission this morning.

Have a super day everyone.

Will go to the local market next time it is on as there are good quality plants there at really good prices.

Your credit card statement could be online with your online banking kuaka, I have ours emailed and it's part of our bank accounts when I go online.

Noticed the bananas are going brown so will make a banana cake today, better get the butter out of the freezer to let it soften first.

Well Ive been released from the ARI clinic. (At risk individuals), for now... My health is plodding along.
And plodding is the word cos I got out of the car awkwardly and jarred my back GGRR... MrP has just rubbed it for me and he has healing hands.. So it has helped.
I started to rewind the white wool for my blanket, and the Courier arrived. Said to MrP it must be for next door cos I don't have anything coming here for a few days, some yarn I got free off facebook.
It was for me, and it was a lovely jammed packed bag of Tweed 4ply Crepe yarn that my darling friend /sister (Whiskey13 from here, Jo V from FB). she had tagged me in the listing on fb but I had to say no, even tho I would loved to have it... so the little ratbag got it for me.. Thank you JO...

I always thought I was good at getting amounts of stuff that shouldn't fit into a bag, into one.. But the seller who sent this beat me Im sure lol. I poked my fingers in the bag, didn't want to cut anything and it basically exploded lol.
Its lovely and I have been face mooshing lol.

Lunchtime now and then I can work on the blanket

Morning everyone. Have fun at school today Kiwimade.

I have most of our bills on automatic payment, just makes life easier. Especially if I end up in hospital.. So I don't have to think about them.

Overcast here today. Havent seen the forecast so don't know if it will rain or not.

Ive got the ends to sew in on two more rows. Then I can join these four rows and add to the main piece. Its amazing how long adding the rows together takes. Im timing myself tho. so Ill know how many hours it took.
Ive had another design pop into my head so I will draw that out later too.

The queen cancelled her visit today so Im not going to do any housework lol
MrP is having a yucky day today. I know how he is feeling, its a post surgery thing.

What a dark start to the day but promises to be nice and sunny.

Have a good day all

Morning ladies, much cooler this morning, will soon need to use the heat pump mornings and evenings. Groan - I hate winter!

Didn't go to knitting yesterday, a friend came for coffee instead and we sat out on the deck in the sun, and sat there even after the sun had disappeared behind the trees and we nearly froze (well I did, she doesn't feel the cold) and then 10 minutes after she'd gone the sun was back and it was too hot on the deck to sit in the sun.

Was tired last night and had sore feet, so sat with my feet in a bucket of water as hot as I could stand, very relaxing. When I woke up the water was cold. Had a stiff neck as my head was over on my shoulder so went to bed, and slept till 5, might need a nap this afternoon.

Hope everyone is making the most of these lovely days we're having. I suspect we'll have rain soon - at least that's a good excuse to sit and knit.

Have a super day everyone.

Morning everyone.. Clear as a bell here

Ive had a major muck up on the blanket. Had the rows in bags, but somehow got mucked up.. so Ive undone one row. No easy job cos I make sure they wont come apart. Have one tiny patch to repair.
Have at least one more to undo, and then I will lay it out on the floor to check the other two, I wont undo them unless I know they need to be.

Took 2 hours to undo the other one. AAARGGGGHHHH

Shopping this morning, then my dr wants to see me, to see how Im getting on with my increase of happy pills lol.

Have a fab day, and enjoy the fish Kiwimade.. Yumm

morning ladies :) A pinch and a punch for the 1st of the month! Can't believe it's April already.

Housework today, yes I know the Queen isn't coming but I still like to have it done. Doesn't take long in our small home anyway. I also have to mow the lawn again, had to mow it on a higher setting the other day as it was so long from all the rain. Will whizz round and do that before the rain sets in again today.

I see Ronnie Corbett passed away, another great gone. We used to love watching the Two Ronnies as kids.

Will pick away at my crochet some time today, I don't think this cloth is going to be big enough as the thread I am using is #20, too fine. It will make a lovely centrepiece though or I could sell it. Will have a think about it.

Happy knitting :)

Morning
Yes this year certainly seems to be whizzing away and it certainly feels like autumn today, cool and dark at 7am.

Started little 4ply Cardi last night I'm having fun finding new patterns on Ravelry to try out. This one is very straight forward although the pattern is written in a very long-winded way so I'm just using it to get stitch numbers then doing my own thing so hope it works out ok.

Do hope you don't have any more rows needing sorting Popeye.

Have a good day

Morning everyone.
A lovely overcast day here. Not cold.. but I think the cloud is too high for rain.
Other than doing our pill containers Im going to work on my blanket. I layed it out on the floor and to my Utter joy I didn't need to undo another row...Yayay.. I have the ends to sew in and then only another 7 rows to go. Ill only do 2 row pieces I think... I don't want to make another muck up.

I must say its looking good.. so far

Morning ladies, yes, I saw about Ronnie Corbett, I don't remember watching him as a kid as such but as a young adult, in fact we didn't watch tv as kids, because nobody had them, nor phones. If you wanted to make a phone call you went and used the public one in the railway station and paid 4d a call. Thinking back I could probably consider myself deprived because we didn't have a car either. And I remember saying to mum once not so many years ago about how we were poor when I was a kid because we only lived in the upstairs of a 3 bedroomed house, (it had been converted into a flat) and there was an old lady lived downstairs. She was horrified and said "we weren't poor, there was a drastic shortage of accommodation after the war with so many houses being bombed, that people had to share'". I'd never thought of that and felt terrible.

Right enough nostalgia. It's looking quite miserable here and already we have a few spits of rain.

jayemtoo, if you want a nice little cardi, check this one that I'm currently doing, "sunnyside cardigan" by Tanis Fiber Arts, top down, done on circulars to the armhole divide, then the main body is knitted in one piece on circulars and the sleeves are seamless done on dpns. You could put a seam in the sleeve if you did them on straights, and it has cables down the fronts and down the raglan shaping, which makes it interesting.

Gosh popeye, you must have cursed when you found you'd gone wrong, undoing things is heartbreaking. All that effort and then you pull it apart. Not sure if I would have been upset or furious.

Went to see the surgery yesterday to see if the doc would do a house call, but no, she doesn't apparently. What is wrong with these doctors, isn't that part of being a GP?

Okay ladies, have a super day.

Thanks Kuaka - that is one that I have downloaded and on my "to do" list which seems to be growing longer each week! I prefer seamless and use circulars all the time now since learning about magic loop. Love no sewing up except for a few ends to darn in.

Blanket looking good Popeye.
