I cant believe I have not posted for ages, I was snowed under with the children ,housework and the usual stuff. Had a great weekend as A and the kids were away ha ha, I relaxed and finished lots of knitting. I'm still knitting baby clothes. I went and watched J15 play Inline Hockey in the Finals on Monday. His team won. I couldn't get over how fast they skate, He is so tall now it was easy to pick him out plus he has a numbered jersey. I never realised he was so good.
Grizzly hope you had a great weekend away with your Mum and Dad.
Milliefiori That was nice that you got to spend those precious moments with your late friend. I know what you mean about the magnifying glass sigh. I hope you had a nice Easter.
We are going to the new Avengers Movie tomorrow, The whole family is going. That should be fun ha ha.

I'm looking forward to that movie coming out on DVD. LOL. Got back home Monday afternoon after a great weekend away. L 11 had already gone back to his Mum and son S. was keen to show how much he had done in the garden. I was very impressed and now we have organised topsoil to be delivered for this weekend so we can fill the raised vege beds, top up one of the rose gardens and repair the back lawn. Yesterday was groceries and haircut, this moprning is a mammogram. All the exciting things to do on a week off. LOL. I have just about finished an aran jacket for the shop on Monday.

I had to do some baking for our group to go with a cuppa after the Dawn Parade. The movie was excellent. I just have the hem to do on another litte cardi. Bed for me.

Great Anzac Memorial. Cleaned up the hall afterwards and came home for a rest. T rang up to invite me up to the beach for tea. I got there at 4, As I left the motorway my phone started pinging. I checked it as soon as I turned the engine off in T's driveway to see a picture of our Anzac Baby born at 3. What a surprise. I had a cuppa with T and raced to the hospital, She is so cute. What a day.

Congratulations makerealbany, how special to have an Anzac baby - and Taurus is an excellent starsign (although I do have to admit a certain bias in that regard LOL). Grizzly you’re getting a lot done in your week off - you’ve reminded me I have to make appointments for mammogram and smear test - such fun (NOT) to have both due at the same time.
One of my boys has seen the Avengers movie and the other two are planning to see it this weekend. I don’t know if I could sit through a 3 hour movie without some stitching In my hand , so I’ll probably wait for the dvd.
I have produced lots of hexies for my flower garden quilt - still need to make a lot more, but I have enough now to trial different colour groupings and placements.
I got to bed and to sleep reasonably early last night but now here I am wide awake again grrrrr. No trouble falling asleep but staying asleep is a whole different thing.

9006

Hi milliefiori. I have just got my Laptop working again. M11 used it and the next thing it was frozen sigh. Yes it was a long Movie ha ha. Good work on your quilt. You were awake again early. I know how you feel. Been there and done that. I have nearly finished another Milo.
J8 M's little brother has had his surgery and apart from all the copious vomiting spurts he seems to be coping, I will be looking after him for the next few days so it will be more Movies and hopefully some knitting.
I don't have either of those tests anymore. When you reach the magical 70 they no longer bother ha ha. Cant say I'm disappointed. Hope Grizzly is ok.

makerealbany - 2019-04-29 23:00:00
9007

Finished that Milo . Found an error so I will embroider a flower on that spot ha ha. Nothing too bad just a stitch twisted, I worked on the latest crochet blanket for awhile tonight, I am going to knit a couple of Bitty Sugar Magnolia Pullovers. They are quick and easy. My son wants a grey Beanie and so the Winter starts, I have knitted dozens of Beanies for my family over the years. They never wear them out but they do lose them especially the guys. They take them off and leave them behind grrr. I only knit the guys ones in cheaper wool now.

My computer at home has died!!!! Only had it 8 years - things are not built to last these days. Sigh. Luckily the technician has saved all my documents and photos ready to install on Friday. I. is buying a new computer as I write this hopefully. I'm at work and he is home sick (thank goodness in this instance). I bet this makes him feel better. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2019-05-01 13:48:00
9009

We are both having troubles with computers urg. J8 is recuperating but he will be with me for awhile. I managed to give him a bath today which he enjoyed so that's a bonus. K is 10 today. I cant believe how the years are flying past. My car is due for a warrant but Ill have to take it in at the weekend when A is home. M goes to gymnastics from 6 to 8 on a Tuesday night which makes it easier for me without the after school rush. I bet you have been knitting up a storm Grizzly. This baby things knit up quick but I'm still behind on my list ha ha,

makerealbany - 2019-05-01 21:47:00
9010

Woohoo no getting up at 5.30 tomorrow. I have a very full weekend though but at lest I can sleep in until 7. Had to frog back current knitting. Missed a pattern row out grrr. So I am up to the dividing for sleeves now. My mind is knitting faster than my hands ha ha, Hope your computer is nearly fixed grizzly. J is starting to get a bit more active so that is good I think ha ha. He's been so quiet I had to keep checking on him.
We have a stray cat that is calling at night in the garden, I cant see it and it must hide during the day with the dogs out and about, What a racket. Our cats are inside.
Today I saw Puss sitting on a rock in the pond watching the fish. One of the dogs was sitting beside her in the garden. I told them both off. Partners in crime lol. I have netting over the pond so they cant get them. Wishful thinking on their part. they know they are not allowed in that garden.

makerealbany - 2019-05-03 23:15:00
9011

LOL. I can just see them over the pond. LOL. We have S and L11's cat with us now. He is 6 years old and is only just starting to get used to us. Apparently he likes to sit on top of the turtle tank but I haven't seen him up there yet. Lucky thats got a cage top, too. LOL. I have been trying to keep up with my knitting with everything else going on but pretty slow. I have the sleeves and bands to do on the latest cardy for the shop so I guess that won't be going in on Monday. I have been caught up with helping L do the craft DIY projects he bought with his pocket money. He has made 2 teddys and an owl so far and now wants to go to Lincraft this morning. My poor wallet! LOL.

grizzly4 - 2019-05-05 09:59:00
9012

Hi all. I'm just starting to get back into crafts. Bought a sewing machine and just getting back into sewing. Also doing crafts with wool so I can sell them at the markets. If anyone has some straight forward patterns, I'd be very interested.

arvn - 2019-05-05 17:38:00
9013

If you want wool patterns arvn sign up with Ravelry. They have lots of wool patterns free as well as those you have to pay for. The Library is great as well
I have loads of patterns from Ravelry. Also there are some great groups on Facebook.
Grizzly I spent the day at Rainbows End for K 's Birthday T and I had 4 girls and two boys and did they have fun. E7 went on the Roller Coaster with the other while Nana and Aunty Prayed underneath it. My heart was in my mouth but she was determined to go because as she said 'I'm taller than the stick now Nana so I'm going to do it' Afterwards she was rather quiet and didn't want to go on any more scary rides lol. Thank heavens I thought to myself. I walked for miles today so I ate an Easter Egg when I got home and it wasn't a small one either ha ha.
That is cool that L is into crafts, He and M11 would have a great time together, I have 3 pictures she painted experimenting sitting on my kitchen table plus a big tin of paint tubes. A box she covered with material that has to be finished and a plaque for her wall. After she has been into our stash of craft stuff I have to get her to tidy it back up ha ha,
J is starting school again tomorrow but I don't think hell make it through a whole day. He's keen to give it a go though. I have to sew buttons on the baby things I have finished and finish some others. It has been a very busy week but this week I will get time to myself woohoo. I want to go and see my little L she is two weeks old on Wednesday.

makerealbany - 2019-05-05 21:41:00
9014

Hi arvn. I get lots of inspiration and patterns from Pinterest. In fact I think I spend more time collecting ideas than I spend actually making! I have been making progress with my hexie quilt but it seems to be evolving into two different quilts. Makerealbany and grizzly I hope you have your computer problems sorted. They are so much a part of our world now - it’s frustrating and often devastating when things go wrong with them. I often think I should make more of an effort to understand how they work and how to fix problems with them, but it’s not something that comes easily to me. Well another weekend is coming to an end. Sigh. Hope I can stay awake long enough to finish my library book as it’s due back tomorrow.

millefiori - 2019-05-05 23:05:00
9015

Lucky you posted millefiori I had to renew my library books and almost forgot until I saw your post ha ha, Saved me over due fees there girl. Yes I forgot about Pinterest. I use that a lot.

makerealbany - 2019-05-06 23:23:00
9016

I can never get the patterns for the things I like on Pinterest. LOL.
I am so angry at present I am ready to burst. This house has huge windows and only vertical blinds in the living area which are either broken or don't sit properly to provide any insulation. We asked for them to be fixed when we first moved in (mid-March). We eventually were told that the owner would replace them with drapes. This was supposed to happen at 5pm yesterday with S. here to let them in. I got home from work after 9 to find they have put one set of curtains up at the street facing window with the worst of the vertical blinds. Thats all we are getting! Have you ever lived in a house with one set of curtains when there are 5 ranchslider size windows and they are horrendous brown and white stripes and not thermal. Needless to say there was a few irate texts last night to the woman doing maintenance for the owner. I bet she wouldn't do this where she lives!! I am now faced with buying our own which is what I normally do, to be honest, but we are doing so much work outside I couldn't face curtains as well. I daren't think of the cost after paying out nearly $3000 for a computer and all our files on the old one to be transferred. One of those weeks I'm afraid.

grizzly4 - 2019-05-07 07:14:00
9017

Women's Group again this morning. I have some miniature ceramic vases for them to marble with enamel paints. Should be fun hopefully. LOL. Half way up the second sleeve of a cardy, I can't believe how slow I am at present.

grizzly4 - 2019-05-08 07:06:00
9018

Omg I feel for you grizzly. The curtains and blinds saga would drive me nuts, Don't spend anymore money on the gardens and outside. Just try and make it tidy outside, That Landlord sounds like many others grrr. That is a lot of money for a computer.
I'm doing another Milo as I want to send my great nieces parcel to her this month. I'm not that coordinated at the moment so I am making silly mistakes with my knitting sigh.

makerealbany - 2019-05-08 23:28:00
9019

The actual computer was $1600 so I didn't think that was too bad considering it cost us about $2500 the last one we bought. I've cal;med down a bit about the curtain debacle (just a bit) and now I'm planning a shopping trip Friday night for thermal drapes. Fingers crossed I can get the right colour for this crazy house. I tried very hard to watch a movie and finish this cardy last night but slept through the whole thing! Couldn't believe it.

grizzly4 - 2019-05-09 07:25:00
9020

I fell asleep for 30 mins this afternoon lol, We must need to. I tried a colour for the bottom of the Milo then decided I didn't like it so had to undo it ha ha. I meant to do some blocking but forgot about it so Ill do it at the weekend. I intend to stay at home and relax this weekend as I'm feeling like I need to. T told me not to go and visit her as they are all sick up there with colds. She has not had her Flu Injection yet. She works such long hours without breaks or decent food and she needs to take better care of herself. A is the same. These idiotic P As who don't allow enough time for them to get from one place to another before the next session or time to eat ugh. Both girls are sorting that this week.

makerealbany - 2019-05-09 23:33:00
9021

Daughter is looking happy and relaxed for the first time in ages. She has settled into her wee house and it's her week with B10. They came for dinner last night and it was really lovely. I hope next week when B is with his Dad she doesn't feel any different. IO stayed awake long enough last night to nearly finish all the bands on the cardy. Of course now I'm on a mission before work to find buttons. LOL. As usual.

grizzly4 - 2019-05-10 07:37:00
9022

Bought the drapes last night. Yahoo. Just need a flexi track for the corner bay window. I can't wait to have them up. We have a quiet weekend ahead so hoping to sew on buttons, finish a beanie I started last night, maybe do some cross stitch and start a new book. Oh yes, and I'd better do some housework. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2019-05-11 10:12:00
9023

Don't mention that nasty word. I spent the day cleaning my cottage. What a mess I get myself into lol. The grandchildren pop in and out getting things for projects and never tidy up as well as I do. I found a bag with knitted teddy bears for little L I have to sew up and a blanket bag. I don't even remember starting that one ha ha. I have nearly finished the Milo and I did an hour on the pink and blue crochet rug. I had to make Muesli tonight and as I make 10 cups of Oats at a time it takes awhile. It is so much nicer than anything Ive bought. At lest I found a use for the Honey I have been given. One lot was christalizing so that's the one Ill use marked Muesli. Speaking of which. Honey is so expensive. I saw the prices in the Supermarket . I was given 4 kilos so lucky me.
We are having lunch here tomorrow for Mothers Day A is cooking 2 legs of lamb. I won one in a raffle; In the old days on the farm a leg of lamb was huge. These days they are so small. The lamb must be really young. Looking at my neighbours flock I can see they look nothing like those we buy. P has been waking me at 3 in the morning to go outside. Poor old dog cant last the night now. Once hes raced off down the paddock I'm starting to wake up. By the time he gets back I'm wide awake sigh. Last night, or should I say this morning I wound some more wool as I couldn't get back to sleep.

makerealbany - 2019-05-11 23:55:00
9024

Had tea with daughter S and B10 again last night. Thursday night they were here for a roast, Friday night we all went to the Mall and last night she Ubered in a curry for us all at her place. We are really making up for lost time not seeing her much. LOL. Going to try and hang the drapes today but our 'flatmate' is suffering upstairs with a bucket after his first night in a few years with friends. His cat missed him so much last night kept coming down to us and now hasn't even asked for his breakfast. Haha.

grizzly4 - 2019-05-12 10:04:00
9025

Yay drapes are up bar 1 window. Have all the tracks needed but now landlord is delivering a flexi track one for a corner window tonight after not hearing from her all weekend in regards to where we buy them from. These people are going to be really awful to deal with I think. We decided to keep our one to use in L11's room so waiting for this woman to arrive tonight so we can hang the last ones. I'm so pleased with the drapes we've chosen and it turns out they match the background colour of the art work that I have been given for Mother's Day. I have finished the cardy and beanie and almost the first front of another cardy. LOL. Maybe I'm getting back on track.

grizzly4 - 2019-05-13 07:07:00
9026

Well done you. We all had a lovely Mothers Day with some lovely presents except for T as she and all her family were still sick. I went up there tonight to take her pressies. Last night we had a call from my nephew in Aussi who visited us last year. My SIL passed away so we are going to Sydney on May 24th for her funeral. P my nephew is the second eldest and is still having Chemotherapy. He is not at all well but he finishes the cycle next week. As he has to arrange the Funeral for his Mum and everything else he needs more time. I think its a good idea. The rest of his Siblings wont pull their weight at all and he has been his Mum's main support. I am going with three of my children as M was their favourite Aunty on their Dad's side of the Family. I most likely will be the only one of my generation there as they have all passed away. Its sad that it was on Mother's Day but P was at the hospital with her. He visited his Mum every Weekend even though she no longer knew who he was and even though he is not well himself. I'm proud of that young man. He is so like his late Dad.
My son W wants his beanie so I have finished all the baby stuff for now. Ill start his two beanies tomorrow. G brought little L on Mother's Day and she was wearing a set I made her. The hat was too big, the Cardigan was too big but the bootees fitted perfectly. She is tiny but has long legs and big hands and feet lol. E her big sister was the same at her age. So I will have to knit bigger bootees, See more baby things to be done ha ha, She has enough for now.
Its great that you are seeing more of S and B10

makerealbany - 2019-05-13 22:21:00
9027

Yep, and L back for this week as well. He is getting all geared up for his 12th birthday on Saturday. That means this message board has been going just over 12 years!!!! We had a family meeting last night with an agenda he wrote up on his whiteboard, Items included his birthday and a haircut he wanted but his Mum wouldn't pay for and the men got into the swing of it and added racing on Sunday. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2019-05-14 07:01:00
9028

Only a couple of nights into the week and I have 2 fronts and part of the back done on another cardy. Yahoo. We have the track for the last window but stioll need to hang the curtain, LOL. Maybe tonight. And the electrician has been and had to do some work on the central heating system, so much for it being 'ready to go' as we were told. It will be interesting to see how it affects our power bill and we are still paying for diesel to run it as well. Lovely and warm though. NOt sure if we can use the timer to warm the house before we get up in morning as L's room is closest to the garage where the generator is.

grizzly4 - 2019-05-15 07:35:00
9029

OMG 12 years, That is right because M11 was on the way ha ha, We have workmen in and out of here as well. They had to put a new Ranch hood in the kitchen as the motor burnt out in the other one. It was only 6 years old, Plus Fibre guys in and out, We have different providers for phone and internet, I have Vodafone which has just sold ugh and A has Spark . Chorus will do both connections anyway. We are putting it all underground as the wires are going through our huge Pohutukawa Tree and what with all the storms etc we are over repairing those wires.
I cannot decide on the Beanie pattern I'm over the same old ones ha ha. I finished all the sewing in of the ends for Babies and am blocking the last lot, You know how I love knitting Milos , will the designer had added up to size 16 to the pattern and I got a free update of all the bigger sizes so I am very happy about that. J wants one ha ha.

makerealbany - 2019-05-15 22:29:00
9030

I bet those older ones will be popular but not so fast to knit like baby sizes. LOL. We have fibre here but the wifi isn't strong enough for the size of the house!!! It's expensive to buy extra routers so S will just have to cope when he is upstairs. It's not affecting Netflix at least. LOL. I'm not sure we will ever win with technology. I took L11 for a haircut yesterday - thank goodness he knew what he needed, I just paid. LOL. The boys are growing up so fast. He is quiet and easygoing but knows what he wants and is beginning to be confident enough to speak up when he needs to, his Dad was a lot older before that happened.

grizzly4 - 2019-05-16 07:02:00
9031

Started the Beanie again ha ha. Only did 6 rows and IM ready for bed. Early starts this week. Yes my kids were certainly a lot different to their children. The arguments I have with J8 about putting his school jersey on sigh. 'I'm not cold, I don't need it ' etc.
NZ Couriers would not send a parcel to me unless I paid for Rural Delivery. Its ridiculous I have had loads of parcels from them. Every now and then some idiot loads a clinch ha ha I refused to pay $11 instead of $4.50.

makerealbany - 2019-05-16 22:23:00
9032

I hope you still got your parcel. When I got my new phone at Christmas son S. introduced me to Wish, the online shopping site. Now there are always little parcels arriving because everything is so cheap and so far of good quality. I have a lovely new mat in my kitchen with a row of cats on it. It looks great and made of memory foam so wonderful when you are standing at the bench for any length of time. LOL.L11 asked for a hoodie with the Fire and Ice Wolf design on it for his birthday. Thats the same design on his duvet and art work on his wall. He won't get it by tomorrow unfortunately but we have bought him a wolf mink blanket as well. No peace tomorrow with his friends here for the afternoon. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2019-05-17 07:11:00
9033

Well Fibre is on but I couldn't log in for two days. I was busy and had to wait. Sil tried to do it but no luck. A came over and ten minutes later it was done. Ha ha. I'm only half way through W's Beanie as I have been doing other things lol. I have Memory Foam Bath mats and they are great.
I have not used Wish and don't want to ha ha, My grandchildren love their Mink Blankets but still drag their crochet ones around as well . T tried to get rid of two but she did not succeed ha ha. Hope the day went well for L

makerealbany - 2019-05-19 19:52:00
9034

Phew that was a busy weekend! L was amazing considering how all his plans went awry. Couldn't get into Mega Air, Ten PIn Bowling was closed for renovation, one of his friends couldn't make it and KFC was on strike. LOL. He didn't get upset once though and had good day with going to Flip Out and having fisn 'n' chips and icecream cake from Shake Shed. Yesterday he cleaned his room completely without being asked twice, suffered through his Auntie shopping for shoes when we met her for coffee and was super excited about the 'Strange Things' hoodie she bought him. LOL. THis morning he goes to Mum's for the week and we are back to being an adult household.

grizzly4 - 2019-05-20 06:56:00
9035

Well at lest he had fun for his Birthday. Took it all in his stride didn't he? What a good boy. M went to her Aunty T's for the night and K came to his Aunty A's. They all had a good time. T and M made bath scrub and M came home bearing two jars and looking very chuffed lol. J and K built Lego and talked about the Lego Masters show on TV. Both boys have asked their Mums to record the episodes.
I finished that Beanie for W and have started his 2nd one which I have to finish to take on Saturday.

makerealbany - 2019-05-20 23:24:00
9036

We are enjoying Lego Masters on tv, too. I. has finshed his huge Lego crane that I bought him for his birthday in March. It's amazing, all it's wee motors work moving all sorts of parts to lift and extend the crane, he has also done the big container truck and has bought another one the same to see if he can build a different back on it this time. I tried to tell him it was Lego he could just break it up and change it the way he wants. The look of horror was really funny but yet again he has another very expensive hobby. Sigh. Even my wool stash can't keep up with him. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2019-05-21 07:39:00
9037

Well I have done something really silly - I was making an omelette in a cast iron pan and rested the spatula on the edge of the pan while I put something in the sink. When I went back to the pan I caught the spatula on my sleeve and it flew into the air. Without thinking I reached up for it and grabbed it with both hands. It was red hot. So now I have both hands bandaged - thumb and palm of my right hand, and palm and wrist of my left hand. I have been really lucky as it's mostly redness and pain and the blistering's not too bad - and I still have full mobility in my fingers. But it hurts to hold anything so I guess I'll have a couple of days off crafting. Good thing I've got plenty of books to read!

millefiori - 2019-05-21 18:34:00
9038

Oh hell that must hurt millefiori. Just relax and read you poor thing. It is amazing how one little thing can cause so much trouble and pain grrrr.
Talking about Lego Grizzly if I gathered up the boxes and boxes of lego my grandsons have and sold it Id be rich ha ha.

makerealbany - 2019-05-21 23:32:00
9039

That's nasty, millefiori! Take care of yourself.
Despite the stress at work I am trying to get back to my past routine here at home. I think it's been off kilter since before Christmas when family moved in. I try to offset work stuff by maintaining down time for at least half an hour before work to read and of course knitting in the evening but I haven't been very good with either lately. And of course my sales at the shop have suffered as well, darn it, this is usually the best time of the year coming into the colder weather but I think I have missed the boat completely this year.

grizzly4 - 2019-05-22 07:32:00
9040

You will get there in the end. I'm out of my routine as well. Things keeps popping up and getting in the way lol. Now it looks like we have to stay in a m=Motel close to the Airport on Friday night as we have to be at the Airport by 5.30 sigh, Changes, changes all the time. I have started packing. Haven't sorted out my knitting to take yet though. I have paperwork to do before I go plus two school skirts to take up for M11, etc. I'm too tired tonight to even think straight lol.
Hope you are starting to feel better millefiori Burns can take awhile to heal.

makerealbany - 2019-05-22 22:26:00
9041

Yes I'm thinking of you, too, millefiori. I hope you are getting help at home. I finished a cardy and beanie last night and have started a wee pair of cable boots in a lovely dark red. I've also started a new book this week so trying to read a few pages a day to keep the momentum going. How long are you away for, makerealbany? I wish a safe trip.

grizzly4 - 2019-05-23 07:59:00
9042

I really appreciate your kind thoughts, makerealbany and grizzly. The blisters look horrible but not so sore today. Aloe Vera gel has worked wonders. I’ve done lots of reading and amazingly, have been sleeping really well.
Grizzly all our Lego has been tucked away in cupboards for years, but over the last few months oldest son (26) has discovered nanoblocks - like teeny tiny Lego - and has made many models. He’s now puzzling over how best to display them.
Safe travels, makerealbany. A sad reason for your trip but I hope you can also enjoy a family catch-up.

millefiori - 2019-05-23 22:08:00
9043

I haven't heard of nano-blocks. Might be a bit fiddly for I,s older fingers and shocking eyesight. LOL. I'm glad to hear about your hands and that they haven't kept you awake. We are still learning to work our central heating so I'm not sleeping so well as I think the bedroom is too warm when we go to bed. I'm not sure I'm going to convince my husband of that though. Sigh.

Beautiful day here yesterday so we worked in the garden. Cut back a rose and an araelia? (spelt wrong I think) and planted another rose and a dozen polyanthus in a variety of colours. I have 60 spring bulbs to go in during the long weekend which the garden is already prepared for. It felt so good out there. We have also hung a five piece scene of tropical bush and a water fall over our bed and I have finished the back of a wee crossover cardy. Very productive weekend considering the shop's AGM took up a fair bit of Saturday.

A bit of a bonus last night with a meeting being cancelled at the last minute. It was lovely coming home to a warm house and Takeaways for tea after being so cold all day. Very different to the day before, although it was actually warmer outside than in.

Goodness grizzly, you have been really busy. I've got lots to do in the garden, but will wait until my hands are a bit more healed before getting into the dirt. I love colourful, scented flowers but I constantly set myself up for disappointment as I plant things that aren't at all happy in our very shaded garden. And everyone else in our street seems to have no trouble growing the highly scented "wild" freesia (the type you can't buy in plant shops) - I plant bulbs every year (bidding wars on TradeMe for these!!!) but I only get a few sad leaves.

We had a family evening out at an advance screening of Rocketman in the weekend and really enjoyed it. Now that the boys are grown up we don't often have evenings out with all 3 of them so it was a real treat.

Good morning Girls. I am all out of whack so woke up and now I cannot get back to sleep grrr. Although it was a sad time for us we caught up with family in all directions. Had a wonderful time recalling old memories. I saw family I had not seen in 40 years. My favourite nephew whose Mum passed away was so strong. He is terminal but wont let it drag him down. All of his family on his Dads side was there. Although a lot of them have also passed away. We are determined to keep in touch with everyone so we will be having lots of visitors ha ha. There were what they call Three different Wakes. Family politics appear to be the same everywhere sigh. We said hello to everyone but went to P's home and stayed until very late. Our Hotel was miles away but my son hired a rental car so we googled maps everywhere. Also visited my niece and her family in Sydney and took my great niece her stash of baby clothes. That was a lovely day. She was messaging me as soon as we arrived ha ha. She misses home. My sister was on the phone to her when we arrived. ha ha. My girls shopped up a storm in the big malls. I was very restrained lol. I purchased Beauty Products which were considerably cheaper than here and one pr of shoes.
I really have to do some work outside . Its a mess really sigh. My Cyclamens have been flowering for months. They are in pots and after they had flowered on the deck I put the pots under a tree and they just kept going. Its amazing.

I'm glad you had great family time. I never have any luck with cyclamens at all. I get them as gifts every now and then but they never last long enough to plant outside to keep them going. I'm not sure how the sun/shade parts of the garden are going to work here yet as there are still a few trees to cut back. The vege garden part seems very sheltered at present and the plants we have in are doing really well which I didn't expect this time of year.

Well somehow I have put my neck out unless the arthritis is playing up. I cannot turn to the sides , am walking with a cane for support as I cannot get up and down without it. My head is exploding and I have a stupid cough. Ill have to go to the Dr tomorrow. I am in a lot of pain and the anti inflammatory drugs are not doing a thing. I cannot believe this. It was fine one minute and then boom sigh. I have had a heat pack on it for most of the day. I cast on a childs cardi just to keep me occupied but its hard going ha ha. I should have gone today but I cant drive so A can take me tomorrow. I'm going to try and get some sleep for a couple of hours.

That's not good at all, makerealbany. I hope you have been to the Doctor! A pretty miserable weekend here, weatherwise. No luck going out in the garden at all so far. We have worked on some inside jobs and took L to KFC for tea last night since he missed out on his birthday because of the strikes. It was lovely being able to come back to a warm house, I have to say. I'm loving the central heating after 9 years of just using an oil fin heater but I don't think we are saving any money. I was the only one L could get to play monopoly so that was my afternoon while the father slept and the grandfather got to work on his latest Lego project. We are going to have a conversation around who's parenting the child once he goes home. LOL.
