Nothing like a new Kitten to brighten your days.. They are really good time wasters lol..
Nice that you are close to but can also clos your door with your family Rosynana.. Im sure you all get a lot of comfort with everyone being close by.
Life is no race for me, so Ive learnt to go with the flow... I think of when Id be up and to town (30 mins away) by 8am to get the shopping done etc lol

Now most days I am just getting up at that time.

I went and got our prescriptions, the receptionist who took the order for MrP mucked up his insulin, its just as well I make sure we have a weeks worth up our sleeve. So will get the rest of the script next wekk.

Time for a play on here then back to my hook.

My friend is coming to pick up the old tv cabinet tonight so Ill have my office back lol

Afternoon ladies, feeling quite pleased with myself this afternoon, as I rowed out to the boat this morning and checked the bilges (no water - yippee!) ran the motor and then put a coat of stain/varnish on the woodwork around the cockpit, the front hatch, main hatch, lazarette hatch (that's at the back end of the boat) and that just leaves the dog house (nautical term) and the kitty house (that's our term for the wooden box that houses the kitty litter) needing a coat. It all really needs at least two coats, maybe three, but the coat I've done has improved it heaps. Need to get out there more often so I can paint the decks and cabin sides too. It was lovely out there, peaceful and just a stunning day. Wish we could be away on her for a holiday. Wishing and hoping.

This afternoon I'm sewing up the elephant that I made weeks ago. Photo when finished.

Enjoy the rest of the day.

morning ladies :) I like the idea of an attached flat rosynana, you can still have your privacy but have family too. A win-win all round I would think.

I was kicking myself yesterday lol, yesterday morning was sooo cool and overcast, I should have mowed the lawns then. Oh well lol.

I started another C2C blanket the other day and using the wool/yarn my knitted 10 stitch blanket was using. I crochet as it unravels, I know, I should unravel it and wash it to get the kinks out but it's only for a blanket for the second spare bed so it doesn't matter. I'm 'down' a pair of blankets as son 'borrowed' some when he left home and I never bothered replacing them until now. I don't think I will be knitting a 10 stitch blanket for a while, was so boring!

Happy knitting :)

Morning ladies, pleased that you are starting to feel better carolev.

I must be losing the plot. I "ran out of stuffing" for the elephant last night and couldn't be bothered going down to the sewing room for more, so didn't finish it, and this morning I've just noticed a heap sitting beside my chair. Oh dear. Never mind - finish it today maybe.

It's overcast here, has been raining and looks like we'll get more and very humid, so pleased I went to the boat yesterday and put that stain on. Pity I couldn't have done all of it.

My new plants will enjoy the reprieve from the fierce sun too.

Might just have a bit of a tidy up this morning and then I have a couple of small sewing jobs to do, for me for a change, just shorten the straps on a couple of tops and take another one in. See how I feel.

kiwimade, if you ever do want to do another 10 stitch blanket, try the zig-zag one, it's much more interesting that the ordinary one.

Have a super day everyone.

Morning everyone.
Im getting later and later lol.

Glad your abscesses are draining Carole. No wonder you have been feeling soo sick. And its not good for your heart either.

My friend didn't end up coming for the tv cabinet last night, she couldn't get any muscle to help. So hopefully today.

I have the berries to pick this morning and a few beans that grew on the scarlet runners that decided to regrow again. Might be enough for a wee spoon each.
We have some cloud but I don't think it will come to anything.

I didn't feel like crafting yesterday. I did do 4 squares but nothing after tea.

Took some photos of Missy watching tv.., talk about a TV addict lol...

I am looking forward to hopefully finishing my scarf today. The kitten loves it when I knit, he jumps at the knitting needles, so mostly I wait till he is asleep. How soft am I? Another sunny day here, everywhere is very dry. I have been doing small hand sewing jobs for my two grandchildren here (who are in their teens), like shorts with a hole in them, exercise tights with a hole, and it makes me feel at least a bit useful!!!! My granddaughter who is 16 has a learner license, so if she wants to go out anywhere, I have to go with her as the licensed driver. It makes for some funny moments that is for sure, she is quite a good driver now, but oh the music we listen to, with her singing loudly. Makes me laugh. I moved here a year and a half ago, cos we all thought I was very ill, but it turned out I wasn't. But it was too late to change, so I left my other daughter and family, my house and friends, and settled here. Happily I must say now, but it is a bit different to live with family instead of being independent. It takes a bit of hard work to adjust, but we are all happily getting along. Hope you all have a great day.

Morning ladies, carol ev I remember when my mum had all her teeth out she lived on soup for weeks and lost a lot of weight. She wished she hadn't had it done all in one go and said she wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Woke to the sound of heavy rain and it drizzled on and off all day yesterday so I'm pleased I made it out to the boat on Friday and managed to do some work on the outside of it.

Yesterday I shortened the straps on one of my tops, realised the second top has adjustable straps (which I'd never noticed before) and the third top is going to need some unpicking done before I can take it in because of the way it is constructed. I finished the elephant, I think his ears are too big!

More crafting today and I won't feel guilty about it although I might wash the kitchen/dining room floor and do the ironing first.

I guess I'll have to get out of bed soon.

Have a super day everyone.

morning ladies :) It's great you managed to get some painting done on the boat kuaka, takes some pressure off you.

It was hot and sticky last night so I turned the air con on and slept under it for a hour or so in the lounge. MrK likes the windows open (so do I) but so do the mozzies and they just love me!

Still picking away at my C2C blanket, will keep going until I have used all the wool/yarn on the 10 stitch blanket. Then I can just add to it when I have the end of a ball, just like what I was doing with the 10 stitch blanket but quicker. It means it will be pretty random lol but I don't care. Sometimes random can be good.

happy knitting :)

Here we are ladies, pic of the elephant. He is bright bright red, not orangey red as he looks in the pic. I think if I did another one I would go down a needle size (or possibly two) so that the stuffing doesn't show so much.

Morning everyone
I must have been very lucky when I had all my teeth out... It was 19th December and for Christmas dinner I had French toast.. I doont like sloppy food, other than mashed potato with gravy everything else I ate was pretty much normal.
Hope things improve soon Carole.

Its been soo humid I was sweating making breakfast, totally ridiculous lol

Have to pop up the street this morning. Then back to my hook, I only did 2 squares yesterday.. oops.

Had a rough night sleepwise, too hot, too much pain and a rotten headache... We sleep with the fans on all night

Ohh he is cool Kuaka.. I use 3mm to 3.25mm needles for my toys with Dk.

popeye, I think the pattern used 4mm needles and like a twerp I just blindly followed the pattern, and thinking about it I usually use 3.25mm or even 3mm with dk for toys etc. Never mind.

Kuaka - Love the elephant. I do all my toys on old size 11 needles - as most of my needles are old, I still refer to the sizes that way. Haven't had a problem with metric conversions except for knitting needles! Must be an age thing (well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it). I still love your elephant, whatever size needles he was done on.

Morning
The elephant is great Kuaka, love the big floppy ears.
Random blankets can be lovely Kiwimade, I have a memory blanket on the go to use up ends of balls as like you I don't like having a lot of leftovers sitting around.

Whew what a busy few days, my houseful arrived on Wednesday and it has been full on since. The wedding was Friday late pm so went well into the night but was a great family time. I left just before midnight and 2 year old great niece was still dancing! - although in a very sleepy way she just would not give in lol.
Had a brunch yesterday which was lovely and relaxed then last evening the adults went to ocean spa for a peaceful soak, we left the dads with the sleeping little ones (think the dads would have been sleeping too judging by the bleary eyes earlier).

Just waved my sister and husband off and putting feet up until lunch time when the stragglers will meet before they too take off.

Needless to say no knitting done for several days not that I mind of course.

Have a good day all

Morning everyone
Overcast and it has rained over night, but oohhh soo hot. Not sure if the lawn men will be here today or not.

Had a lazy weekend really and enjoyed it, other than the heat of course.

I decided to play yarn chicken last night. with the little nuggets of wool from my crochet. I got 2 red squares from the two nuggets, and one white from 3 tiny white nuggets.. Much better than wasting them. well they wouldn't be wasted but I didn't want to end up with heaps of them. And sewing in a few extra ends wasn't any trouble.

Going to see if I can get MrP into the drs, Hes passing blood, a fair amount too. I don't know what they will do, maybe send him to hospital? I don't know.
Its raining, quite heavy coming straight down so I think the guys can have a late start to the day lol.

Have a fab day

morning ladies :) I love the elephant kuaka, beautiful! And red is a lovely bright colour.

Tinybaldone, I'm forever checking needle size, between the older version, the metric and American way it just about does my head in. And then American crochet hooks/patterns are referred to by letter. I just look at the ply of wool I am using and make a decision based on that sometimes.

I had a 'marathon' effort yesterday working on the C2C blanket, first time in ages I sat and crocheted. I really need to get started on our grandy's winter knitting, won't take long to knit for her. Should be making the most of her being little!

Happy knitting :)

Morning ladies, it's overcast here this morning but looks like it might brighten up, it rained nearly all day yesterday, quite heavy at times. I did my ironing but ran out of enthusiasm before I washed the kitchen/dining room floor so that still needs doing. Mr K didn't get up till after midday yesterday and went back to bed around 4, hardly seems worth putting clothes on for that short space of time. Hope he gets his hospital appointment soon and they can find out what's wrong with him. No matter how serious (or not) it is, knowing must be better than not knowing, it's doing my head in.

Oops, just did a little $50 order from Skeinz - now I must sort through my stash and try to rid myself of stuff I'm unlikely to use.

Have to go to town later for milk and check the mail. Thought I would have a parcel to post but the payment hasn't shown up yet.

I've picked up a wip and making progress on it, a lovely turquoise cowl for me in possum/merino laceweight. Going to be beautiful in the winter if it ever gets cold enough up here for me to need it. It is so my colour. A 50gm ball goes a long way but I will need to start the second ball to finish it, then I will have quite a bit of that left over and no idea what to do with it. Meantime I've got another puzzle ball in mind - a different style yet again.

Have a super day everyone.

Morning
I recently brought a little ruler type thingy which has holes for measuring needles but best it has the markings in metric, USA and imperial (old) I use it frequently.

Nice to have visitors but equally nice to have place to myself again lol.
Will have to knit twice as fast for a while to make up for not doing any this weekend. Still knitting baby Jersey which seems to be taking ages but have done several other things at same time.

Have a good day

morning ladies :) I bought one of those ruler thingys as well jayemtoo as I was given a big bundle of needles and some are so old they have no size printed on them.

haha kuaka, ooppsss! lol. It's so easy to spend $$$ on wool, doesn't take long to add up at all.

Blimmen flies are still around so need to vacuum up all the dead ones. If the day stays wet, I'll be able to crochet/knit today, otherwise I'll be outside weeding and using the spade to trim edges around the concrete paths. Nearly time for the autum garden clean up, will give it a couple more weeks before I start hacking into the jungle.

Happy knitting :)

Morning
Lovely bit of rain overnight and still cool and drizzly - very pleasant.
Have caught up on sleep now and feel heaps better.
Managed a bit of knitting yesterday as well as some inside odd jobs which have been looking at me for a wee while.
If rain stops will be ideal day to get into garden later although lawns will need to dry out a bit.

Have a good day

Morning everyone.
Hope you feel better soon Carole.

We have had a lot of rain in the last 24 hours. The people over the road have a plastic crate on their deck and it looks like 4 inches of water in there.
Took MrP to the drs yesterday, all looks ok, nothing siniter in there, but hes being sent back to the piles clinic just to be sure. They mucked up his insulin again, so hopefully that's been sorted again.

I did 10 squares yesterday, Ive now done 161, so 200 to go. Yesterday it was 3 weeks since I started, and I know I didn't crochet on 3 of those days so, not too bad.

Hopefully my red wool from Love Knitting will arrive today.. Yay.

Yesterday I finally put all the stuff from the tv cabinet away and had a wee play in the office, a little time outwith my Girl Helping. She was good actually, I had a pile of Nuggets on the table and had to come up to the lounge for something, so I told her Not to touch, and when I got back she was just sitting there, looking .

The lawn guys are out and about so they should be done soon.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning ladies, we had heavy rain during the night, and it's overcast now and not quite as hot as the last couple of weeks, it's really quite a pleasant temperature as it's not humid either.

My afternoon out today, I have to nip to town to post a parcel and check the mail - wonder if my LoveKnitting parcel will be there today - or maybe if I'm lucky, my Skeinz one, although I only ordered that yesterday morning. Hope they don't both come the same day or I will have trouble smuggling them both in.

Mr K is still in bed fast asleep. I'll leave him be.

We had a lovely surprise visit yesterday from a German lady we know who lives in Australia, she is over visiting friends (when we first me her a couple of years ago she managed to track down a Dutch friend of mine who had gone to live in Germany, and we had lost contact when we both changed email addresses at about the same time, and forgot to tell each other our new ones!). She stayed for coffee and then lunch. It was a very pleasant surprise, but even though her English is very good Mr K has trouble understanding her accent.

Right, wrap my parcel and get ready to pop out.

Have a super day everyone.

My wool arrived in a lovely bag, I think they are soo nice.. And a little pink wrapped lollie. It was nice and tangy.
So now I only have to get the white.

the lawns have been done.

The questionnaire arrived for the Pain Clinic for MrP. But we asked the gp we saw yesterday if David should put off the appointment until after he is through the heart stuff.. Mainly thinking cos if he goes to their clinic where theres lots of sick people around, we don't want his opp put off cos he is sick. And the GP said yeah postpone it till he has recovered.

Tried to do that, but they cant put it off indefinitely cos the patient has to be seen within a certain time. So they have discharged him, and he has to get the gp to re-refer him, giving the reason why he declined this appointment..

So that's done...

Crafting later

popeye333 - 2016-03-01 12:15:00

my yarn arrived from LoveKnitting today too - well most of it, I think a little is coming separately - haven't opened it yet - snuck it in and left it in the billiards room (as Mr K is unlikely to go down the stairs while I'm out). Hope the stuff from Skeinz arrives tomorrow.

Tea is organised, corned beef in the crockpot and I've just put the carrots and onions in and Mr K will put the spuds in later - they're peeled and ready to go. Easy when I get home. Cook the greens and serve.

Right, lunch and then I'm out.

morning ladies :) At long last the humidity has gone, was lovely yesterday even if it was a bit cooler.

I started the hoodie for our grandy, it won't take long to knit up as it's just plain stocking stitch. Decided to add a row of garter stitch in the contrast colour of the bands just to add a bit of interest. SS is not my favourite stitch lol so anything to jazz it up a bit. The contrast is a soft purple with the main colour white with little tuffs of purple and mint here and there on the yarn. Not the most practical colour for a little one but it was originally bought for a baby's blanket. And it will wash up fine being a very soft acrylic.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone.
A fine day soo far but there are grey clouds around.

It was soo nice sleeping last night. I even pulled the blanket up lol

Im 168 squares in now, Im not bored with it yet.. I change colours each ball so I don't get sick of one or the other.

The hoody sounds nice Kiwimade, yeah easy to get bored with SS.. when I was doing my cardies the only thing that saved me was the frilly edge. And then I did the blue one that was plain too. but they should do me for a few years.

A day on the hook for me, the washing can wait a day lol

Have a good day everyone

Lawns are all mowed, thought I would get that done and dusted while the day was cool. Am glad I did, its warming up now. Time for a cuppa, do the dishes, shower, then head into town to buy some baby wrapping paper for a baby shower I'm going too this weekend. I have some booties and a beanie I've knitted so they can be the baby's gift.

Afternoon
Lovely cool night here too so slept very well.

I must be different as I quite like SS but then I also like to read when knitting and not have to look at what I am doing too often. Must admit I do like a bit of a pattern at times for a change.

Just had a lovely long chat on Skype with niece in Italy I usually miss her as don't get the time difference right but love Skype much nicer than just phoning someone.

Off to the library to change books then onto the knitting if all goes as planned.

jayemtoo - 2016-03-02 12:08:00
8983

Afternoon ladies, just home from knit and natter, and check the mail. Still no word from the hospital re Mr K's examination. Wonder how long it will be.

Took my puzzle balls along to show the ladies who weren't there last week, and one lady has ordered two so that's good. Warm here, 26 deg and I forgot to cover my little plants before I went (it was overcast and cool when I left) so they are all wilted now. Hopefully they perk up when it cools down.

I didn't sleep at all well last night, was still tossing and turning at 4am and then finally slept till 9, so was a mad scramble to get to knitting before everyone went home. It rarely gets hot enough for me to sleep without blankets, I like them snuggled up round my neck. We are all different eh?

Lunch, then do something useful, not sure what. I don't feel like doing much, so might just start on my puzzle ball orders.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

I love Skype as well jayemtoo, I chat to my friend in the States :)

Won't be feeding the Furry One for a couple of days, the clever thing has caught another rabbit. And this rabbit has been 'teasing' him for weeks now, I knew he would catch it eventually. Brings his tally to 10 rabbits now.

I'm almost up to the armholes for the back of this hoody. I've had to increase the length by 5 cm, our grandy is going to be a tall girl!

kiwimade64 - 2016-03-02 15:26:00

Well done on the orders Kuaka... nice when your work is appreciated eh.

Woohoo well done Furry one... Hes going to have a full tummy for a while that's for sure.
My friends cats were bring in the rabbits near her place, I doubt the JR would know what to do with one lol.. Shes a townie lol.

7 squares so far so it should be 11ish for the day, as its one of our good nights on tv for a change.

When I saw the pictures of Maddy the other day Kiwimade I thought she as tall. double her height now and you will know what she will end up at.. Apparently that's how it works..

My sisters eldest boy was very tall.. (Still is, hes 6'5") but the day she took him to the bus , his first day on the school bus, he got into line, By age as they went by and the driver told him to move back. He was shocked to learn that Jay was only 5 lol.. Hes a giant bear now, an executive Chef, always in different parts of the world. Currently Aussie.
He must have got the Gypsy side through us lol Yes I miss him.

Its warmed up here, but not humid thank goodness

Well a play on here then back to my hook.

morning ladies :) I finished the back of the jumper as well as the left front last night, knitting for littlies is certainly quick! Won't take long before I'm posting it off to our grandy at this rate.

I'm off outside for a bit, the Furry One needs to run around madly to work off that rabbit and when I'm outside, so is he. While there is no wind this morning I'll spray the weeds I can't/won't weed by hand and tie up a couple of plants that have come loose.

Happy knitting :)

Morning
Potential for a lovely day here by the looks of things.
Good on the furry one and the rabbit. Was very surprised a few days ago to see a little brown rabbit happily hopping along a road in Taradale it disappeared into someones garden so hope that is where it belonged rather than just looking for dinner.

Plodding along with the little jersey it is 4ply and seems to be taking for ever to do but probably because I have been doing other things lately rather than knitting. Last lot of family go home this weekend have 2 little ones to look after this pm and tomorrow then should have more "me" time.

Morning everyone.... Fine and no clouds that I can see from my lounge chair.
YAYAY today is our last car payment.. Thank goodness that is over and done with. Paid off 4 months early cos I pay things weekly not monthly.

Will make grocery shopping a lot easier, that's for sure..

I am Officially Half way on my squares.. Quite pleased with my efforts.. I did 12 yesterday so that was a good day. Mind you not a lot of other stuff got done lol.

Shopping this morning, don't need much today so it shouldn't take long. Have to pick up MrP's correct amount of insulin vials today too.
I accidentally pricked the side of my thumb when doing his insulin this morning. So its red, swollen and tender.. For some reason my body doesn't like his insulin. lol

Have a fab day all

Morning ladies, ouch popeye re the insulin.

I had a better nights sleep last night, went to bed early (10.30 is early for me) and slept till 2, tossed and turned till 3 then took half a sleeping pill and slept till just after 9, so maybe today I'll feel a bit more human.

I started on one of the puzzle ball orders last night and did 6 of the wedges, so 6 more wedges to do and then three lids, each of which consist of 4 diamond shapes. Won't take me long.

It was 26 deg here yesterday apparently but it "looked" more like winter, overcast, blowing a gale, and it isn't looking much better this morning and it's definitely cooler than it has been.

Received my LoveKnitting order yesterday, as usual it's all lovely, though it's all acrylic, it's all lovely soft acrylic. Had an email to say my skeinz order has been despatched so looking forward to getting that, maybe today. Have to check the mail to see if Mr K has an appointment at the hosp yet. Fingers crossed it comes soon.

Have a super day everyone.

Acrylic certainly has improved over the years eh Kuaka, I love James C Bretts Acrylics the best.. Theres some other lively ones, but Bretts are my fave.
I did a tally up before and I miscounted somewhere and had only done 178 squares.. so have done one more. Id expect to get another 6-8 done today.

Did the shopping and its put away. Got some nice looking Crumbed dory, so might have that on the weekend.. Soo pleased when they built the new New World they gave us a fish section.. We didn't have one before.

Have a pleasant afternoon everyone

Am loving the cooler nights but still having lovely days. Mowed the lawn yesterday first time I have done it for a while as had a man do it while I was away and he kept on for a while. Now my back is reminding me of some muscles which I had forgotten I owned lol.

Finished body part of Jersey yesterday as had a 6 yr old here so knitted while we played "babies" with my old dolls, my baby was very tired and slept a lot. She is back this am so can do some crafty things so I might get a sleeve done too.

Have a good day all

morning ladies :) lol jayemtoo, I love how your 'baby' was tired, clever thinking.

I finished the right front and decided to move straight onto the hood of the hoodie so stitched the shoulder seams together. I found it was easier to use my crochet hook and slip stitch them together as the yarn is 'bumpy' with all the little tufts of colour and a pain in the proverbial to sew. Have a tiny bit to do on the hood and that will be done, then sleeves and bands. Isn't taking long at all to do. I'm happy with it so far, looks pretty with the contrasting bands and a row of garter stitch every now and then.

Housework first though, more flies to vacuum, they are all over the place. Definitely has the 'autum' feel to the days now though with cooler evenings/nights.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone,
Overcast here again Yay... And yep the temp is lovely.
Lol Jayemtoo at the sleeping baby, now that's using your head !!!

Revised total, Ive done 189 squares. Happy with my progress. Ive been thinking about the sewing up. Well crocheting together. I don't know which colour to use. Cos there will be opposite colours on the squares and I don't know if Im going to like it. Still Ill cross that bridge when I get to it I suppose. Might just have to be which ever yarn I have the most of left over.

Have to go to med centre this morning for my depo, post my Yarn lotto wool then home.

Have a fab day all

Morning ladies, it's sunny with a cool breeze, so a wee bit nippy, but I'm sure it will warm up later.

Might give the car a spring clean today, it is looking decidedly un-white, and the poor old Safari is filthy, so I shall have to do that too soon, that's a mammoth job which I put off as long as possible, but I really do need to do it.

Other than washing the car, no plans for today. Check the mail I guess see if my Skeinz parcel has arrived and if there's any word from the hospital, and I might wash the floors and by the time I've done all that I will have earned a relaxing afternoon.

I have to post yarn lotto too, but I'm waiting for my skeinz order to arrive, 'cos I was a bit unsure about the colour of a couple of balls, so if I'm not keen on the colour I'll send that, otherwise it will be something I already have. It will be nice wool anyway.

Have a super day everyone.
