| I. was left to clear out garage for furniture next week while S took on more hours at work. Grrrr! Today he's back at work for day 7 in a row while I. clears the spud patch for his shed. Double Grrr! Ok we have decided now this is short term support, LOL. grizzly4 - 2018-12-09 09:30:00 |
| Phew that was a big weekend. S is back in house this week with L11. They have lots of packing and cleaning to do for shifting completely out this weekend. It's actually quite daunting and I'm very reluctant to be involved in the cleaning as DIL was not great when it came to housework. But do I not help and S loses the bond which means they are with us longer??? grizzly4 - 2018-12-10 06:22:00 |
| OMG I feel so sorry for you. I know that feeling of having to do the clean up because someone was so lazy. They get to waltz out and leave the mess. I did too much in the garden on Saturday and now my back is out and I'm working with my stick again sigh. My son cooked tea for me tonight and cleaned up afterwards, A worked from home today so I was able to rest. makerealbany - 2018-12-11 00:31:00 |
| Thats not good news about your back! Moderation is the key apparently. LOL. grizzly4 - 2018-12-11 06:22:00 |
| Oh Lord what a situation to be in. She cannot just strip the house of all furniture he is entitled to half of it. Yes I would take that advice and that way the cleaning gets done and she has to pay for it as well. He should have closed that bank account because she will access it given what she has done already. You will not be able to work with her given the circumstances so you may have to take those steps regardless. Take it day by day. That is how I got through all the awful stuff with my son's ex. makerealbany - 2018-12-12 00:41:00 |
| Good advice. I keep hearing the voice of my counselling tutor from years ago in my head telling me that I am giving all power to her when my day is ruined by being so upset or worried. And that these are not my decisions to make....So by yesterday afternoon I was able to actually get some work done. LOL we will be there to pick up the pieces worst case scenario and he loses everything. Thank good ness for knitting and chocolate right now! LOL. grizzly4 - 2018-12-12 06:25:00 |
| Yes knitting and chocolate help ha ha. T had her phone stolen off a café table at a meeting. She has an alarm in it because its face recognition. She tracked it with her IPad and emailed a Police Complaint as its impossible to speak to Police up here on the phone. Spark locked it down so the thief can never use that $2000 phone. They keep turning it on so she takes a photo of the address and keeps sending them to the Police to load on her file. They are moving around a bit but they are about 4o ks from her. The Insurance company told her Police never investigate. So even with knowing where it is nothing is done. No wonder thieves keep stealing. No wonder people take matters into their own hands. So she loses her 200 excess grrr, If it was a stolen car worth $2000 they would investigate it. makerealbany - 2018-12-12 23:25:00 |
| That is just dreadful! I've heard about how you can track them but like you the police never went to get it back. So what's the point in having these technologies to make their job easier when they don't use them. Insane. Losing what people store on their phones these days would be heartbreaking. grizzly4 - 2018-12-13 06:19:00 |
| Yes T is very upset. They are very busy up here with the Homicides but that's a different Division, People have burglaries and the Police don't even investigate. Its ridiculous. makerealbany - 2018-12-13 23:29:00 |
| It's been like that for years. I remember we had 2 burglaries within a week at work one year. Notified place, was paid out insurance for the camera and computer gear taken and spent hours and hours replacing computer files that had not been backed up (lesson learned). 6 months later we were called by police to come and identify a bag of stuff they had in storage. Turned out it was all ours and had been recovered the day after the burglary and no -one told us! Because we had been paid out they woiuldn't return it but we were allowed the memory card from the camera and the hard drive overnight to download everything. Rediculous. grizzly4 - 2018-12-14 06:18:00 |
| Another wek done. This weekend we move S and L11 in here although L goes to his MUms from Monday morning for a week. We are doing Christmas Dinner tomorrow night as it's the only window the boys can be together because of all the shared care arrangements! And of course I. and I have a week away from the 24th - going to Blenheim for Christmas with mum and Dad and my sister. The first time we will actually be together on Christmas Day since we were teenagers! Families, eh? I've been useless this year organising presents ahead of time and when you buy prezzy cards you are suddenly aware of how much it's costing you!!! LOL. grizzly4 - 2018-12-15 07:51:00 |
| They closed the Police File as her Insurance replaced her phone and she had everything backed up so still got all her data. She was not happy with the guy in Noel Leemings who told her anyone can the Pub could break into her phone for 30 bucks,Grrr what a jerk. makerealbany - 2018-12-16 00:33:00 |
| I knew DIL was pretty useless at house keeping but that house literally took my breath away. I am shocked that children can be raised like that - and my grandchildren to boot! I know S is at fault too but I also know he wasn't the one studying from home for years and now works one week on, one week off. The furniture left behind is revolting - so bad I have refused to have L's bed in my house, it's gone to the dump. Bed wetting is not the issue - how it's parented and cared for is. I am so mad. The lounge suite is beyond help but at this point he won't give it up so it sits in our garage and when I get back after Christmas I might have a go at cleaning but not sure what weill work. It will cost him a fortune to take stuff to the refuse centre today as it is and at this point getting the bond back is completely up in the air. Landlord is meeting them at 5 tonight so fingers crossed. I mean it was pretty low grade to start with and there have been no earthquake repairs done. Oh well, Christmas dinner for tonight to organise and groceries to do so I'll start thinking more normal things, I think. grizzly4 - 2018-12-16 08:56:00 |
| Christmas Dinner was hard on S but all up it was one of the best we've had. Probably because we had spent so much time working together this weekend there was a closeness that is missing in everyone's otherwise busy lives. Hopefully L11 and B13 enjoyed themselves as B10, who was so souped up excited, did. LOL. It feels weird that there is no mountain of toys in front of them anymore just gift cards and grown up clothes. A sign they are all growing up so fast. Sigh. grizzly4 - 2018-12-17 06:03:00 |
| Yes I can remember the state of my son's house before we cleaned it all. We threw out stuff as well. Glad you enjoyed Christmas Dinner. My back is still playing up so I am having to lay down and rest it quite often which is frustrating. Knee joints and ankle joints are so sore as well. Its all go around me but I can only do so much and I'm exhausted. Have to see GP on Wednesday to make sure everything is ok and get a stack of Meds for Holidays. I'm a quarter of the way though this new shawl. The Pattern has a mark off for each row and tells you how far along you are. Its great. When I downloaded the pattern I thought :why so many pages: Now I know ha ha. makerealbany - 2018-12-18 00:25:00 |
| Shawl sounds great. Your pain not so much! Funnily enough my ankles are my worst bits at present. I haven't had problems with them for years. LOL. I reckon everything takes it's turn for attention. LOL. I'm glad you are resting, what are your plans for next week? I can't wait for this week to be over. Another 2 days of holiday programme, a day of cleaning and then the staff lunch on Friday when we do our overall evaluation of services to finish the year. Yahoo then a month off for me. Roll out the knitting, the cross stitch, a good book or 2 and some nice weather to potter in the garden. LOL. Although with everything else going on the garden needs more intensive care than that at present. Oh well, I'm sure the weeds will still be there when I get to them. grizzly4 - 2018-12-18 06:07:00 |
| I reckon it does ha ha. M10 has finally got her new furniture all set up and gave me a pile of stuff to take to the op shop as she has changed everything ha ha. The new office is set up for A and her Mil arrives tomorrow for Christmas. A has her last day of work tomorrow woohoo. Sil had a day off today after flying for 8 days, He went to the Tip so another big job done. I slept for 4 hours while he took the kids to the beach. Got the air conditioner on as its too darn hot up here. makerealbany - 2018-12-19 00:36:00 |
| Back to rain here today. Party day on the Holiday Programme while I do our GST. LOL. I wrapped Pass the Parcel..... Haven't done that in many, many years. LOL. grizzly4 - 2018-12-19 06:12:00 |
| Poor I. broke a tooth yesterday so starts his Christmas break with a demntist appointment this morning. Not sure if he's going to his end of year BBQ (in the rain) even. I have B10 with me at work this morning - that will be fun when I'm trying to get the last funding applications in for the year. LOL. grizzly4 - 2018-12-20 06:43:00 |
| Lousy weather here and my steroid injection didn't do a thing sigh. Its all go People arriving for Christmas and last minute stuff to do as usual. Ill be glad when this year is over ha ha. makerealbany - 2018-12-21 01:07:00 |
| B10 was wonderful so I took him to Mc Donald's for lunch. LOL. Then his Mum shouted us coffee out when she came to pick him up. Good score. LOL. I have our staff lunch today and then a month off. Thank goodness. grizzly4 - 2018-12-21 08:56:00 |
| Lunch out yesterday, dinner out last night and I. has given me a smart phone for Christmas. I have it already as soon as they changed my number over the security company for work wasn't able to contact me on my old phone. LOL. They have dragged me from the dark ages - the family have been nagging for ages. LOL. grizzly4 - 2018-12-22 09:30:00 |
| You will love your smart phone. I spent the day with my oldest son' He got some bad insect bites that got really infected, He also has an immune disorder. He has been through a really bad patch lately. He had been to his Dr and he wasn't given any antibiotics two days ago. When I saw him this morning he was so ill and the infections were terrible. I rang the girls and they told me where to take him. The staff at the Medical Centre were brilliant. They had to bandage him up in all directions, Gave him Antibiotics and took swabs, He felt much better just knowing that it wasn't in his mind and he really was ill. I went to the Laundry mart and he insisted on sitting there with me half asleep. Then he asked if we could go and get his hair cut which we did. I bought him some lunch and by that time he looked really tired so I took him home with his supplies of ointment, dressings and bandages. He was asleep before I sneaked out the door. Just rang me to say he had eaten, taken his meds and was going back to bed. It was a long day and I'm heading to bed myself. makerealbany - 2018-12-22 22:55:00 |
| Thats dreadful that the original doctor did not take better care of him! I hope he is feeling better soon and your pain stays under control for you to enjoy all the Christmas festivities. We leave early tomorrow for Blenheim, Nelson and Greymouth over the next week. Will be home again Saturday. Hopefully with my new phone I can still check for messages depending on how festive you get, too LOL. Have a very Merry Christmas and I hope your friends and family spoil you rotten. grizzly4 - 2018-12-23 09:41:00 |
| A very Merry Christmas to you and I my friend. Enjoy your time with your Mum and Dad. I'm off to my son W's home tomorrow to housesit with Teddy. He got a surprise to see me tonight. Jumping all around me like a little grasshopper ha ha. Mind you Ill be back and forwards but its not far. 30 mins there and back in the holidays. Everyone leaves the city ha ha. makerealbany - 2018-12-23 23:27:00 |
| I'm back! LOL. It's been a brilliant week, great seeing family and the extra days touristing across the top of the South Island and down the West Coast was lots of fun. I have to figure out how to save the photos from my new phone on to the computer. LOL. I hope you are enjoying your time away. grizzly4 - 2018-12-30 09:42:00 |
| Caught up on the laundry. Phew! But so hot it's dry in half an hour. LOL. L is back with his Mum this week and S is at work so we have the days to ourselves. Daughter S was diagnosed with pneumonia on Boxing Day so need to catch up with her this week, too. Hopefully we will get a day over in Akaroa as I really want to see the Giasnt's House. grizzly4 - 2018-12-31 09:13:00 |
| Spent New Years Eve with S and her partner. The men watched Speedway on tv (Not quite what I thought we would be doing) so I talked S to going for a flutter on the pokies which I haven't done in years. She was quite stressed that 'he' wouldn't be happy if she was away to long so were back within an hour. Sigh. Although she was $90 better off. LOL. We came home and watched t.v till nearly 1. LOL. grizzly4 - 2019-01-01 09:30:00 |
| Happy New Year!!!! grizzly4 - 2019-01-01 09:30:00 |
| Spent yesterday morning in garden and then scrubbing son S's carpet square. Now the worst is off it we will use our carpet cleaner on it today and it is so hot again it should dry before the rain sets in later tomorrow. Next his lounge suite but not yet. LOL. Today I'm off on a search for buttons - back to normal it seems. I hope your stay away from home is going well. grizzly4 - 2019-01-02 10:02:00 |
| Still very hot down here, I hope you are getting good weather for your holiday, too. TRying to tackle the garden in small stages because of the heat - not sure I'll be on top of it ever. LOL. grizzly4 - 2019-01-04 09:31:00 |
| What a mission yesterday - trying to shorten 2 column trees out front. S's chainsaw is blunt and our hedge trimmer is hidden behind all of his stuff stored in the garage. Only managed to do one by hand yesterday. No 2 is scheduled for thios morning bhut the men aren't up yet after a late night at speedway. LOL. We are all going again tonight. I made rhubarb and ginger jam while they were out and once it was cooler. I hope you are well and your back is not suffering sleeping in a different bed. grizzly4 - 2019-01-05 09:27:00 |
| Looks like it's going to be cooler today. The 2 trees are shortened but what a mission that was! LOL. Dead-heading roses and dahlias next on list. And I have to get ready for my first shift in shop for the year tomorrow. L11 comes back yo us for a week as well so will have to come up with a few things to keep him busy.I. is taking him to movies while I am at shop in the morning. grizzly4 - 2019-01-06 10:04:00 |
| This is the earliest I have been up in a couple of weeks. LOL. A bit of rain to help the gardens as well. grizzly4 - 2019-01-07 07:09:00 |
| Off for a coffee with a friend as it's her birthday today and I. is taking L to the movies which they missed out on on Monday. We took him to the Brickland Lego display yesterday which was amazing. I'm working on a dolls set which looks more suitable for a teddy. LOL. grizzly4 - 2019-01-09 09:23:00 |
| Another week gone by and only 1 left of my holiday. Slow down it's going too fast. grizzly4 - 2019-01-11 10:10:00 |
| It's so early but I. is back to work today and I have the shop so might as well get up at same time. L goes back to Mum for the week and I'll have the days to myself till I start back at work on Friday. Hoping to get some cross stitch done this week. I haven't picked it up over the holidays yet. grizzly4 - 2019-01-14 05:48:00 |
| Gosh you are having a nice long break at the beach! Good for you. I hope everything is going well. grizzly4 - 2019-01-16 06:54:00 |
| Hello . I had a great time at the beach with my sons. Back to reality ha ha, I have knitted two shawls and some baby clothes. The Contractor who came to dig a hole for the spring water knocked down the phone lines so I was without when I got back. Now they have sent a notice to say they are updating the lines for fibre so expect more outages ugh. Today I am babysitting but we are going to Jump etc. Fun ha ha. I did not miss having no grandchildren around at all at the beach. They all went further up north. makerealbany - 2019-01-17 08:36:00 |
| Welcome back! I'm sorry you had to come back to phone line issues though. My first day back at work today after a relatively quiet week to myself gardening, knitting and cross stitch. Hopefully it will only be a short day today. grizzly4 - 2019-01-18 06:51:00 |
| I have had a few hitches with these tiny baby clothes ha ha. Trying to do as many as possible with circulars so no sewing up ha ha. That will teach me. I am destashing Mosaics on a Craft site but getting annoyed with the hassle. Might have to bite the bullet and sell on TM. I stated that postage was via Pass the Parcel and then she asks if she could send me NZ Post bags ugh, I cannot be bothered with that. All to save $2. The kids are thinking of selling and moving so I am going to have to destash a lot as I will not be taking it with me if I have to move. Ah well it may be time for me to move on. I am sweltering tonight so I just put the Air con on. Even my dog appreciates it. He is laying on the carpet beneath it lol. makerealbany - 2019-01-18 22:09:00 |
| Moving!!!!! OMG, I thought your family had the perfect set up. Do you think you will still live with them or thinking of finding somewhere separate? Imagine adding travel to all the childcare you do. grizzly4 - 2019-01-19 09:05:00 |
| Found the bonus of having another adult living here. LOL. Did my vacuuming and helped in the garden this morning. Visitors this afternoon and just finished some ironing as I'm back at work properly tomorrow. I have really liked being at home so it's hard to face going back. grizzly4 - 2019-01-20 17:08:00 |
| No if the property is sold I will look for somewhere alone I think and as for childcare well I'm not sure about that. Its easier here but my SIL cannot keep up with the property and now that I don't do lawns and all the things I used to do it is showing ha ha. Went up to the Beach for the day with T and K to bring my other grandson back. I would live up there if I could. So peaceful. But it would be too costly to buy there and I would not rent because even that would be about 400 a week. Ridiculous. This was supposed to be my last home but its all up in the air now. I'm really annoyed about it all but also fed up with drama. I have several options but I'm not making any hasty decisions. makerealbany - 2019-01-21 00:11:00 |
| It must be so stressful being, as you say, all up in the air. Thats the bit I don't like about renting - the lack of permancy. We have been lucky here as we have been in this house 10 years in April, more than I could have dreamed of. WE were in the same house for 10 years while the kids were young but in between that it's been a change every 2 years at the most. AS we approach thinking of retiring it plays on my mind a lot that we will have to downsize because of maintenance and cost. Oh well, they were the choices we made when we were much younger and I was pleased we hade no propperty to worry about since the earthquakes. I hope it is all successfully resolved for you earlier rather than dragging on indefinitely. grizzly4 - 2019-01-21 06:02:00 |
| Woe, doinf first full day back at work was exhausting made worse by having to wait for guy to arrive to fix a stone chip in my car windscreen before I could leave the office to run errands. Next 2 days are pretty hot weatherwise so may make for grumpy kids on programme sigh. Are your grand children in programmes till school starts back or are you in charge of entertainment? grizzly4 - 2019-01-22 06:21:00 |
| I like that in charge of entertainment ha ha. I have the two boys for two days but A has been working from home and M11 is in a School Holiday Programme for the nest two days. Its a Gym one so she will be worn out. The boys swim in the pool and even though its cold I jump in and then we all jump in the Spa Pool which is a bit warmer. makerealbany - 2019-01-22 22:58:00 |
| It's been a few years since I've done a shawl, not even sure I've got a pattern for one now. There are some lovely patterns available though, aren't there? You will be spoilt for choice. I have been working on a crossover cardy for nearly 2 weeks now!!! Shocking progress, I'm either too tired or it's just too darn hot. LOL. grizzly4 - 2019-01-23 06:16:00 |
| What a storm last night! In the early stages of it , it threw a bird at the house and knocked it out before flying away about half an hour later, threw some wire shelving units I had bought from S against his van and it picked up the garden shed and tossed it over the roses bushes which are about 6 foot high. We were out in the wind and rain putting it back in the garden and anchoring it to the fences and our trailers.Pretty scary at times. grizzly4 - 2019-01-24 06:10:00 |
| Everything ok? I hope the days with the boys went well. grizzly4 - 2019-01-25 06:11:00 |
