| My message from yesterday has disappeared. How weird! Struggling with sick staff these holidays. Was planning to finish at lunch time today as I'm already way over my hours for the week but will be working till 5.30 today and Friday now. Oh well..... grizzly4 - 2018-10-04 06:06:00 |
| Gremlins again. dash those hours. You are supposed to be looking after yourself. makerealbany - 2018-10-05 00:05:00 |
| Was able to finish a bit earlier yesterday, thank goodness but today will definitely be 5.30 and then we are out to dinner with friends. I can't wait to do very little over the weekend. LOL. I am really hoping I don't catch whatever is going round, We have Wearable Arts next weekend! grizzly4 - 2018-10-05 06:17:00 |
| Phew that was a hard week but at least lots achieved and a cruisey weekend ahead. I have finished dressing the doll for the raffle at work and I'm now doing pj's for a Teddy. Next week I will try and find a kind business that donate a game or scooter or something for first prize. grizzly4 - 2018-10-06 10:57:00 |
| I am in the middle of a bad infection. my kidneys have gone to hell and my Immune disorder has really kicked in. So tired of all this again sigh. You are really motivated and youll get your first prize. makerealbany - 2018-10-07 00:33:00 |
| Feeling no better at all so I'm back to the GP tomorrow. Finishing a sock lol makerealbany - 2018-10-07 23:13:00 |
| I am so sorry you are not well. I hope that GP gives you something magical! And still you are knitting, well done you. I had a very relxing weekend but got lots done as well. Invitations have gone out to family for my 60th dinner next month at my favourite restaurant so I don't have to cook and clean up. I's had replies from about 20 saying they are coming so far which was a bit of a surprise. My parents and my sister can't make it but I didn't expect them either. Now I just have to choose my cake. LOL. grizzly4 - 2018-10-08 06:11:00 |
| I am starting a different lot of meds today and awaiting the arrival of a new drug which had to be ordered at quite a cost sigh. Busy time for you arranging your Birthday. makerealbany - 2018-10-08 23:13:00 |
| Is the new drug subsidised at all? Is it proving to make a difference for other's on it? I hope the ones you have changed to already start doing the trick for you. There's so much guess work in medicine isn't there. I think Mum and Dad are so much worse whent they start experimenting on them. A tweek to an amount here, another new pill there and then they suffer the consequences. grizzly4 - 2018-10-09 06:12:00 |
| No it is not subsidised but I'm testing it for 3 months. I had my son take P my old Foxy to the vet today for a check up and his annual vacs $218 later, But he is worth it really. He hates the vet rooms but likes the Vet lol. I guess the smell of the place annoys or upsets him. makerealbany - 2018-10-09 22:48:00 |
| I am so glad you are feeling some improvement. I. is having more tests in a couple of weeks before they make a decision to refer on. They are not sure whther it's the aging process or something else. So we will see. And we all know about the aging process!!!! Don't we? I ordered $1200 worth of craft product for work last week and it arrived yesterday. Today I have to check the items off and then find room for them. LOL. They benefit for programmes we run overthe next 12 months and I buy all at once so the goodies can provide inspiration for staff planning sessions. grizzly4 - 2018-10-10 06:16:00 |
| OMG the weather does not look good for flying into Wellington on Saturday. Galeforce Southerlies - all we need. grizzly4 - 2018-10-11 06:19:00 |
| Yes the weather here is lousy as well. Power will most likely go out. I see our Provider Vector was fined lol. They made a big profit so that wont worry them one bit. Aging process mmmm makerealbany - 2018-10-11 23:48:00 |
| That's not good about your power company. Or losing power during bad weather when you need it most. grizzly4 - 2018-10-12 06:11:00 |
| No message. LOL. I assume you lost power as predicted. I hope you are still on the mend and keeping warm, the wind chill down here is dreadful. Still not looking forward to the winds blowing in Wellington when we land this afternoon. grizzly4 - 2018-10-13 10:01:00 |
| Yes to prediction and yes to still on the mend ha ha. Hope it wasn't too bad flying into Wellington. makerealbany - 2018-10-14 22:49:00 |
| It was the flying out of Christchurch that became the problem in the end! LOL. Racing down the runway in full take off mode when they suddenly shut everyuthing off and there we sat on the runway till they figured out what was wrong and found usa another plane. We made into Wellington in time for a quick meal and the show. Which was absolutely brilliant, we loved every minute of it. Our room in the hotel was on the 19th floor with lots of windows which brought my earthquake stuff back big time and I spent my time in that room looking straight ahead, not down. LOL. grizzly4 - 2018-10-15 06:31:00 |
| Glad you enjoyed the show. I do not like staying in skyscrapers either. Took A to the airport for her weeks work in Indonesia. so its early starts for me lol. Started a new pattern for a Bitty Sugar Magnolia cardigan. Its on circulars and in one piece. I wanted a change from the mIlos ha ha. The wool is an unknown gradient I got in a destash and I am not that happy with the wool but it is soft . makerealbany - 2018-10-15 22:58:00 |
| That wool had 3 knots in it. That's the most I have had in a Gradient ugh. Nearly finished it. Then Ill make another one. Trying to use 100 grm skeins up . I have 6 things to wash and block. Funny weather but I got the washing dry. makerealbany - 2018-10-16 23:21:00 |
| Shame about having to use circulars! Not my favourite at all. Or knots in wool. grizzly4 - 2018-10-17 06:23:00 |
| We have had 5 powercuts in three days grrr. We are all over it. I finished that Bitty Sugar cardigan and have nearly finished a sock for myself. I have to knit them one at a time until I am an experienced sock knitter ha ha. makerealbany - 2018-10-19 00:24:00 |
| Yay, you are knitting something for yourself!!! But wait .... you will show your socks to someone and you will be knitting dozens from then on. LOL. I couldn't go on computer yesterday as I. though we had a virus and shut it down till he could check it last night. My morning routine was ruined. LOL. I have a head cold - my first in 2 years. I'd forgotten how miserable you feel for the first couple of days. LOL. Now I have to make sure I don't pass it on to MUm and Dad this weekend. I am loking forward to seeing them though, it seems ages since we saw them in July and this weekend away won't be as full on as last week. grizzly4 - 2018-10-19 06:41:00 |
| WE had a lovely weekend starting as soon as I got hom,e from work and we spontaneously decided to drive as far as Kaikoura and stay there FRiday night. LOL. I hope your health is improving and you had a relaxing weekend. grizzly4 - 2018-10-23 06:35:00 |
| Caught a secondary bug so still coughing but head is clearer now. Glad you had a great weekend with your Mum and Dad. makerealbany - 2018-10-24 00:11:00 |
| THere are too many bugs around at present. Have you managed to keep up with your socks? grizzly4 - 2018-10-24 06:18:00 |
| I have not started my second sock yet but have been working on my two blankets lol. Back to GP tomorrow. Something has to improve sigh. makerealbany - 2018-10-25 00:00:00 |
| HOw you are feeling doesn't sound good at all. I hope the GP can suggest something to help. I am working on a wee hoody jacket with cables to the armholes. Not doing much each evening, not sure why. The shop is a bit slow at present so not feeling very motivated. grizzly4 - 2018-10-25 06:29:00 |
| Know what you mean about not feeling motivated sigh. Got some moles cut out as well today. ah well those are the breaks. There is a Fibre Fest up here on Saturday not far from me in Kumue so I'm hoping Ill be up to going then. It will be nice to meet some of the dyers that I'm in touch with on Facebook. makerealbany - 2018-10-26 01:00:00 |
| Fingers crossed that you get to go. grizzly4 - 2018-10-26 06:23:00 |
| I hope you are up and ready to go to the Fibre Fest. Sounds great! I am off to decide on my birthday cake this morning. I thought I knew what I wanted but now I'm off on another track. LOL. Also struggling with what to wear, I'm worried the top I wore to Wearable Arts is a bit out there for a family and friends thing. This is usually my pattern of anxiety before a social event, by the way. That's why we stopped having them. LOL. grizzly4 - 2018-10-27 09:20:00 |
| Got up and went to Fibre Fest . Spent 2 hours there and came home and slept. My 15 yr old grandson is here for the weekend. I was woken by Paku barking at 2,30. Got up and my grandson was watching TV, Well I told him off and switched the TV and got back to sleep at 4 grrrr. Had a fab time at Fibre Fest but it exhausted me sigh, I just turned the TV off and ordered him to bed after waiting for 30 mins of his completely ignoring me. Teenagers ugh, Id wear your fab top. Do not stress about what others think. Your body, your choice. makerealbany - 2018-10-27 23:44:00 |
| What a cheek that grandson has! I think you were remarkably restrained. Mind you Paku hadn't woken you, you would be none the wiser, maybe. LOL. I'm very glad you go to the Fest, though. And I now have 2 more fab tops after a quick shopping trip after ordering the cake. LOL. I am sorted for all fancy outings in the future. grizzly4 - 2018-10-28 10:28:00 |
| I spent the entire day cleaning ugh. Still it feels back to normal now in my cottage. Nice to know you are sorted for fancy outings tee hee, I started a Settler Shawl tonight. Summer weight and very pretty for myself. makerealbany - 2018-10-29 01:04:00 |
| Another something for yourself, yahoo! You are on a roll. LOL. A pretty heavy duty week ahead, I think. Late meeting tonight, a pretty involved craft activity for Women's Group on Wednesday, a Neighbourhood BBQ to organise for Thursday evening plus S. is scheduled to have those lumps in her breast removed same day so not sure how I'm going to work that, and same think Sunday, I. wants me to watch him race in Ashburton but I have a fundraiser BBQ for work during the day as well. I might be stretching things a bit thin this week. grizzly4 - 2018-10-29 06:07:00 |
| Don't stretch yourself too far or youll end up like me ugh. Feeling better today and I spent the day knitting. cooking and lazing ha ha. makerealbany - 2018-10-30 00:07:00 |
| Sounds like such a nice day you had. I went to Lincraft yesterday to sort fabric and felt for the art work tomorrow. Had a bit of a wait with 10 bolts of fabric etc so my hips were not great afterward then I had to cut everything so each group member has the right amount they need. They can be so like kids sometimes cutting a tiny piece from the middle of the large piece and ruining it for anything else. (They are a bit like kids when I takwe them out too, I have to have a bit of health and safety talk to them tomorrow.) grizzly4 - 2018-10-30 06:21:00 |
| OMG10 bolts of fabric will not help your hips. Its hard alright and it is like dealing with children. Give them that talk girl. I have a friend who is younger than me but that's how she behaves. At times I feel like giving her a swipe with a fly swatter ha ha. It can be quite annoying because they become so selfish and even my patience wears thin. I don't like going out with her because she is either demanding or behaving like a helpless baby ugh. Had to undo two lines of my shawl as I made a mistake. Thank goodness I'm only up to 254 stitches ha ha. makerealbany - 2018-10-30 22:31:00 |
| Yeah, one of those fly swatters that deliver an electric shock that fries those flies! LOL.254 stitches!!! OMG that's wejhy I knit baby stuff. LOL. I'd fall asleep before finishing each row. You have the patience of a saint. I have spent a day and a half preparing this activity for this morning so it better work. I'll try and remember to take a photo to show you. Next project is to cater the neighbourhood BBQ tomorrow night at work. This %#*% rain needs to stop. grizzly4 - 2018-10-31 06:16:00 |
| We were lucky as it was a fine day. A took me up to T's for our annual Haloween Party. T had a lot more of her ghouls and skeletons. We would have had at lest 300 children calling and taking photos ha ha. All of the kids had a blast while I rested on the bed. I have no darn energy and I felt terrible. Trying to keep a cheerful handle on it was hard but I didn't want to disappoint my grandchildren. Came home and I'm going to bed . No knitting tonight. makerealbany - 2018-10-31 23:59:00 |
| Nothing worse than social commitments when you are not feeling the best. I hope you are able to rest up today. Craft activity went well yesterday, thank goodness after the hours of prep put into it. LOL. Two meetings this morning then the shopping and prep for tonights BBQ. Trouble is not many people have replied to the invitations sent out so not sure how many actually will show up. I'm paying 4 staff to be on board so it better be worth it. grizzly4 - 2018-11-01 06:29:00 |
| Hope the BBQ went ok. I rested all day and knitted my shawl. I am a loose knitter so the next one that I want to make in summer cotton for myself will be on smaller needles to get the tension tighter. I'm enjoying this knit though. Cant do much else at the moment. makerealbany - 2018-11-02 00:22:00 |
| Glad to hear you are resting. Yes, thank you, BBQ did go well but I was exhausted afterward. LOL. I have sent you an email with some crafty photos to amuse you. grizzly4 - 2018-11-02 07:55:00 |
| Cool photos. Looks like a lot of fun. I have finished my shawl tonight. Will block it tomorrow. Its raining again and cold. makerealbany - 2018-11-04 01:20:00 |
| Off to Ashburton to watch I. race today. A few showers are forecast here so not sure how the weather will go. Very hot at 27 yesterday. Good work finishing the shawl! I've got the bands to do on a fairisle baby cardy so I'm taking it with me. grizzly4 - 2018-11-04 08:08:00 |
| I sent you a photo of my shawl blocking. I have started another one for a friend ha ha, Even my son who shows no interest in my knitting told me ' That is really beautiful Ma' I was very happy ha ha. makerealbany - 2018-11-04 22:57:00 |
| That is a beautiful shawl!!! Well done. And what a good use for those foam tiles. LOL. It was a stressful day yesterday. Heard on the way down to racing that my friend's husband had just passed, then the staffing for our fundraiser bbq at work fell through and I couldn't get there to help. I did manage to finish the cardy though. grizzly4 - 2018-11-05 06:17:00 |
| This is the cardy just finished. grizzly4 - 2018-11-05 06:27:00 |
| That is a sweet cardigan. Yes I have a set of the foam tiles just for blocking. Easy to store. Well you cannot be everywhere at once. I tell myself that all the time now ha ha. I'm feeling much better and I have some energy again woohoo. The fireworks in the neighbourhood have just finished ugh. All the poor kids trying to sleep and the animals scared out of their wits. Ours were all inside by 6 tonight. S and J22 ( Who was up from Queenstown for the weekend) took the three young ones to a Spooks and Fireworks Display on Saturday night whilst A and her sister T went to a Concert. So no one in the family bought any fireworks. makerealbany - 2018-11-05 23:11:00 |
| I love the big displays but have never liked the back yard fireworks because of the animals and having to pick up all burnt cartridges that end up over our fence from all sides, no matter where we have lived. Haven't gone to any displays this year as we were away the weekend Speedway had theirs. I'm working on a fairisle jersey now in silver grey and white. Can't believe the timing but I have the funeral to go to just before my 60th party on Saturday. It would have been his 55th birthday that day. So young, eh? grizzly4 - 2018-11-06 06:25:00 |
| Considering all the prep I put into last weeks activity for the Women's Group, I'll definitely be winging it today, LOL. We are making Christmas Angels.....we'll see iof it works..... grizzly4 - 2018-11-07 06:06:00 |
