Yes you are wise to go through he CT Scans, etc. Ohh Celtic Illusion. I adore Celtic Music must be the Scottish in me lol.
Not sure what to knit yet, I m going to practice a new cast on Tubular rib and once I learn that ILL practice and learn Brioche Rib stitch so I can knit a Basic Brioche Loop Cowl. Oh doesn't that sound ambitious ha ha.

Oh my gosh you lost me at Tubular rib! Where are you learning all these new ideas from? I am very impressed. Scans and xrays booked in for next week. $1000! I am hoping medical insurance will cover it as it's all connected to the colonoscopy which counts as a surgical procedure. Fingers crossed.

I belong to a couple of knitting groups and I buy patterns off Ravelry which has heaps of free patterns and lots of hints ha ha. $1000 is not cheap but I paid that for one scan 20 years ago,. I sure hope Medical Insurance covers it. I cut my finger slicing the chicken today so I had to be content with crocheting my blanket. Another large square done.

makerealbany - 2018-07-31 23:14:00
8604

Ouch, that sounds nasty. I've had insurance confirm everything except possibly the chest xray as they don't think there is a connection to the other procedures. Oh well, that's ok but I would rather have it checked out at the same time. Peace of mind and all that. Women's Group is off to Mamma MIa this morning. I hope it's as good as the previous one.

grizzly4 - 2018-08-01 06:17:00
8605

Yes my finger is still giving me gyp ugh. I got my hair cut today and came out with my head buzzing. My goodness gossip flies in Hairdressing Salons ha ha. Finally got my bags and boxes from Pass the Parcel so now there is no excuse for not destashing ha ha. How was Mamma Mia?

makerealbany - 2018-08-01 22:45:00
8606

Amazing! We all loved the movie. We had a group of 18 so was a great morning. LOL. So have you sold all your stash? Does it give you pocket money to go buy more? LOL. I am working on a wee waistcoat with a shawl collar. It's lovely when iot's knitted but there is more work in the bands and tabs for back and false pockets than there is in the 3 pieces of the body.

grizzly4 - 2018-08-02 06:21:00
8607

Manic day ahead but an early finish planned, hopefully. Starts with meeting at a local cafe at 8.30, then dropping off some DVDs to my friend who's husband is approaching his last few weeks, I think (enormously sad), then I have to find someone to fix both the photocopiers in my office (Grr) then I get to spend a bit of time at the craft group before another meting at 1pm. Phew I will be running from one thing to the next and I'm sure other things will pop up in between as usual.LOL.

grizzly4 - 2018-08-03 06:23:00
8608

Yikes what a busy day. I must see that movie. I just got back from T's. I was minding K as she had to work late . Thank goodness A and I managed to work out the schedule for all 3 kids, I'm glad its Friday ha ha. I have sold some but I have to destash more. I'm on a Yarn Ban for sure.

makerealbany - 2018-08-04 00:13:00
8609

Yarn Ban! No, that's far too extreme. I have mine set up in projects, there is a wee shelf in the lounge that holds 4 projects at a time. When I get them done I set up another 4 from stash (Or maybe buy a bit more). LOL. I am really tired this weekend so knitting might be my main project. I lost 7kgs last year when I wasn't well and I think now that weight has gone back on it's really affecting my joints and energy. Trouble is I don't have the energy (or time) to put into more exercise and working out new eating plans. Sigh. Hopefully once salads are back in I will get back on track.

grizzly4 - 2018-08-04 09:50:00

I lost heaps of weight when I had that darn whooping cough but have put it back on now. I don't have the energy to exercise either sigh. I'm so exhausted by the time I finish all the housework for the two homes. I do feel much better in the summer. Salads are nice. I am not eating properly either. Too tired to cook when I get in. I cook tea sometimes for the children and then I eat more healthy. Gosh you are good with your projects, I sold 4 lots today so I'm slowly destashing ha ha, No knitting as I spent the whole day sorting.

makerealbany - 2018-08-05 00:23:00
8611

I'm convinced housework counts as exercise!!!!! Where are you selling your stash?

grizzly4 - 2018-08-05 10:25:00
8612

I am selling some of it on a Facebook Group. There are a couple of Yarn Destash Groups, I might try TM after my holiday ha ha.

makerealbany - 2018-08-06 00:15:00
8613

That sounds like it might be soon. When do you go away?

grizzly4 - 2018-08-06 06:10:00
8614

This Friday whoopee. I'm so busy organising things its not funny. Had a quiet Birthday at home so I can let my hair down at the weekend ha ha.

makerealbany - 2018-08-06 23:00:00
8615

I never remember your birthday! And I should 'cos it's so close to both my kids. Maybe it was quiet but I hope you were spoilt! Friday is definitely soon. How long are you away for? Are you going on your own?

grizzly4 - 2018-08-07 06:26:00
8616

I'm away from Friday to Tuesday. My two daughters. My DIL and my granddaughter are coming . We are going to celebrate our three Birthdays . Two days in Queenstown and two days in Wanaka. T my eldest girl is 50 tomorrow. J he daughter is planning all our events. Living there she has managed to get us great discounts for activities and Dinners. We are all looking forward to a girls time out. Sil arrives home early hours of Friday morning so he is on duty straight away lol. Poor thing ha ha.

makerealbany - 2018-08-07 21:23:00
8617

That sounds amazing! Good for you. I hope you get some lovely weather while you are down there.
Scans etc all done now I have to wait till 12 Sept for next procedure and hopefully the results. Seems ages away. In the meantime I have to sort stasff for next Wednesday to open our children's programme for the day because of the Teacher's strike. The Women's Group are making tapestry ladybird fridge magnets today on plastic canvas. Some of them aren't going to be too happy about that. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2018-08-08 06:22:00
8618

I did that once. It was fun actually. Oh Lordy Teachers strike. I still have lots to get sorted and I'm running out of time. My son is picking up the kids from the bus for me and doing their homework with them so I can cook tea. Roll on Friday ha ha,

makerealbany - 2018-08-08 22:38:00
8619

I survived the Women's Group! LOL. It took a bit of encouragement but most got there in the end. My surgeon rang me yesterday with great results from the tests on Tuesday. Liver, kidneys and lungs are all clear. Yahoo. I was pretty stoked he rang so quickly, I was sure he would leave it till I saw him next month.
I hope you have a great trip tomorrow and a wonderful weekend. I'll be thinking of you.

That's fantastic news woohoo. Yes Im up at 5 so have just finally finished getting ready. You enjoy the weekend as well,

I had a really great time. Fabulous weather and I got to wear scarves and beanies ha ha. Accommodation in Queenstown and Wanaka was luxurious and we were very spoilt. Restaurants were many and we all ate far too much. We went to the top of Coronet Peak and played in the snow. It was such a beautiful day. We all spent too much hee hee, I loved the South Island. The sunrises were amazing. My granddaughter had lots planned. Bless her. Its colder at home ha ha, The wind here is awful. Back to reality now how boring ha ha.

makerealbany - 2018-08-15 20:58:00
8624

Sounds like you had a wonderful time! Coming back to the real world is a bit disappointing isn't it? LOL. I suppose you had kids with you yesterday because of the strike as well? We opened up at 8 but only had a dozen booked in for the day so we shared the shifts and the weather was lovely so it was a pretty good day, really. Today will be the first day this week I can focus on the work waiting on my desk. It will be head down for the rest of the week.

I had a cleaning day today as A was home. I was woken by a call from my cousin telling me about a 32 page submission I had not received yet. I had to get her to send me a copy as the MLC is so slow and slack at times. I need to respond to this by Monday ugh. Then I get the mail and have a 20 page one from another Court case double ugh. I did a bit of crocheting my blanket tonight, I took my knitting bag with me on Holiday and did not open it ha ha, By the time we got in at nights I was so tired I just showered and went straight to bed. Then we were up early and off again. We went in the steam Boat across the Lake to Arthurs Point and had lunch over there after visiting the farm. One day we visited Arrowtown again which was nice. I went into all the wool shops and didn't buy any wool . I'm so proud of myself ha ha.

makerealbany - 2018-08-16 23:28:00
8626

Lot's of self control! Well done. I have stopped myself from buying wool twice in the last week. LOL.I am working on dolls blankets and bootees this week but last night was just too tired to pick up the needles. I was hoping to be in bed by 9 but I. started watching Silent Witness which didn't finish till 10.45! I only saw parts of it, LOL, kept dozing off in my chair.

A shop called Take Shape has moved into our local mall and the clothes are just beautifiul. Now I have 2 choices of outfits for Wearable Arts. LOL. But there's Celtic Illusion next month and my 60th in November so all good. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2018-08-18 10:04:00

And so starts another week. I hope everything is ok for you, makerealbany.

grizzly4 - 2018-08-20 06:20:00
8629

Omg I had visitors come and stay from Friday. A lovely surprise lol I'm so tired. I did the big clean up and now I'm relaxing. Next weekend would have been better ha ha. I need to get into my destashing again. I had to shove all my wool I was going to destash in a suitcase so I could use the fold out couch as well as move all the material and patterns. Darn it have to start all again. I did sell some wool while I was on holiday though. Did my Court stuff so now can concentrate on fun stuff. I have not knitted or crocheted all weekend.

makerealbany - 2018-08-20 20:14:00
8630

That sounds very full on. LOL. Sorting out wool and patterns is bad enough the first time around. Daughter S. is having a fine needle biopsy today as she has found lumps in her breast and under her arm is very sore. Fingers crossed.

grizzly4 - 2018-08-21 06:29:00
8631

Poor S and poor you. Hope everything goes ok. A is still waiting to see a private specialist sigh. I took it easy today after my busy weekend lol.

makerealbany - 2018-08-21 22:18:00
8632

Good on you. Hopefully S will have results by lunch time. I have a Rotary breakfast this morning at 7.30!! All around funding for a new BBQ for work. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2018-08-22 06:08:00
8633

Meeting at 7.30 ugh. I slept in until that time this morning ha ha. I have baked and I did do the washing but apart from that I have been incredibly lazy and just crocheted. Tomorrow I have to be more productive ha ha.

Meeting went well though and we are getting the new BBQ for our own events but also to be more involved in other community ones. S's results have come back saying she has a benign tumour which has to be removed as it is putting pressure on blood vessels to her arm pit which is causing the pain and inflammation she has there. Thank goodness. One of my clients was diagnosed with breast cancer this week and a close friend with non Hodgkins Lymphona (not sure what stage yet). I feel like I'm surrounded at present.
S's partner is working away from home during the week currently so we are going out to dinner with her tonight to my favourite local restaurant. I'm hoping she gets used to not having him around. He's a thoughtless bugger who was not prepared to support her stress going through the tests etc this week. God forbid what he would be like if the results were different. JUst like her ex-husband. It's all about them. Sigh.

That is good news about S. Yes my SIL is finding this week hard but I'm on a look after myself kick this week ha ha, Some men can be quite useless in times of crisis, I got through a lot today and intend to do the same tomorrow ha ha, It was my sisters P's 70th so I sent her flowers, etc and then arranged and reminded her family to message her. I had to privately message them her phone number. I ask you who the hell doesn't know their grandmothers phone number. She has had the same numbers for 20 years. She was so happy to hear from them all. I know next year I wont have to do that as Sis E 's Children and Grandchildren will no doubt be messaging her at the crack of dawn. So for the next 4 years my siblings all turn 70.
Glad meeting went well and funding was successful. My cousin had me in stitches today we were trying to do the long tail cast on from UTube as I had forgotten how. We were on the phone on loudspeakers and both on IPads , It was hysterical. In the end I remembered and she learnt how ha ha

Must have been very funny to watch you both. Thank goodness it's Friday, I've had enough of this week. LOL. Although I'll sit in on the craft group this morning and get some of my cross stitch done. I have a supervision client first though and I have funding and policy to work on this afternoon. Much rather be doing what you're doing.

I now have to think of something to make for a Birthday Present for R who will be 80. Its in two weeks. Its hard as she doesn't like wool or acrylic for that matter so knitting is out. She does like candles. Ill have to think on it. J sent me a picture of a Beanie she saw that she wants, I think it looks like a twisted rib. She will be up next weekend. Talk about pressure ha ha, So I have started that and put my crocheted blanket squares in the corner for awhile. So much to do lol. I hope you enjoy the weekend and relax.

Only birthday left this year is mine. LOL. And I will be doing my 60th my way! Dinner out with everyone paying for themselves and I'm not left with the dishes. LOL. The most important thing is the cake as I can't remember the last time I had a birthday cake, myself. I know what I want, now I have to find someone to make it. No stress yet as it's not till mid-November. LOL.

When you have a minute check out Just Desserts website. What do you think of the Jim Beam cake and Mad Hatters Tea Cake? LOL.

grizzly4 - 2018-08-26 09:46:00
8641

Its on ha ha. I just checked that website. Amazing aren't they? The Mad Hatters Tea Cake is really colourful .
It was a beautiful day up here today. I started a two colour Beanie for fun to use the last of my scrummy wool that I knitted my beanie with and I mucked the pattern up so many times I had to undo it grrr.

makerealbany - 2018-08-27 23:58:00
8642

I listed some material today on my group website. Ill leave it on for a week and then maybe try TM ha ha. I have been sorting and sorting. I cant even remember why I bought some material lol. Nearly finished that colour works Beanie. I also found my other stitch Markers I was searching for plus a lipstick. Brand new I must have dropped it into the container of material when I packed it. I'm sure more treasures will turn up.

makerealbany - 2018-08-28 23:26:00
8643

You are having fun going through your stash! And your internet is sorted, too. LOL. Went out for dinner with S and B10 last night which was fun. I had a chicken satasy and not feeling the greatest this morning. But no one to go with Women's Group so I'm it. I am knitting dolls clothes at present.

grizzly4 - 2018-08-29 06:53:00
8644

Well I finished that Beanie and it went today before I could even take a photo haha, Not sure what to do next. I have boxes everywhere sigh and my grandson is coming for the weekend. Do you knit your dolls clothes in Acrylic and what ply? I might just work on my crocheted blanket tonight. I

makerealbany - 2018-08-29 21:00:00
8645

Yes, the dolls clothes are acrylic but I do 4ply and 8ply depending on the pattern I feel like doing. I get more from each ball in acrylic. As you can see I'm home today and haven't been out of bed long. I'm glad the test results so far show everything is ok 'cos I'd be worried about how tired I am otherwise. My joints are pretty bad, too. Must just be old age or end of winter blues. Either way I'm over it, I have things I need to do. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2018-08-30 10:28:00
8646

Oh you poor thing . Yes its most likely a combination. II send you some wool for your projects on Monday. Ill send you a pic at the weekend so you can pick and choose, I sold 10 lots of fabric today. So I'm feeling good about that.

makerealbany - 2018-08-30 20:08:00
8647

You don't need to send me wool - don't you have groups you belong to you can give it to? That's cheating destashing to add to mine! LOL.

grizzly4 - 2018-08-31 06:20:00
8648

Lovely day yesterday, pottered in the garden a bit. Knitting white 4ply vests and pants for baby dolls but the brand new wool looks like it's been touched with machine oil during manufacturing. Hopefully I can wash it out. Grrr.

grizzly4 - 2018-09-02 08:45:00
8649

What a weekend ha ha, I have been on the go rushing here and ther two dinners one I almost forgot. Finally got in an hour ago and I have not sorted any wool grrr. Sold more material so I have packed those up for posting and I'm off to bed tomorrow should be bettr although I have my hearing test in the morning and the school pick up etc. You can have the best intentions in the world but lol. J my 24 year old Grandson is off to Japan. J 23 was home for the weekend and my DIL'S sister had her Earrings she makes in Fashion week up here so it has been fun, C who is J'S older brother had to quit his Floor sanding and Polishing floors because of his injuries in his knees starts his new job tomorrow , He is now selling all the equipment he used to use so he is excited and looking so much better. Its hard to keep up with them all ha ha. I hope that machine oil comes out.
