| OMG !!!!! How awful for you. You don't need that stress. makerealbany - 2018-07-01 10:09:00 |
| Nope you are right - I don't. I feel pretty shitty right now, I have to say and yet the day to day stuff still has to get done, it's the end of the month for the shop so all the payouts need to be sorted plus a meeting this Thursday so I spent yesterday afternoon doing the accounts then I leave for Blenheim on Friday morning for the weekend to see Mum and Dad.I'm also due for blood tests (that won't show anything) and another $125 visit to the specialist to tell me nothing is showing in mt blood work. Sigh. Sorry to vent. grizzly4 - 2018-07-02 06:22:00 |
| Wow you have a lot going on right now. Vent away my friend. I am off to Rotorua tomorrow as I have a Court Case on Wednesday and I want to spend time with my sister E. I really need to get away lol. My nephew P who visited us is going in for Neuro Surgery for Tumours and then he will have Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy. I feel so exhausted with worry. Our trip to Hawaii is on hold and we will go visit him in Sydney instead. Its so sad and he is one of the good ones in a lousy bunch. Nothing seems to happen to the awful people who cause misery to others and yet the ones who work like hell to support those that need it fall. I'm feeling lousy today, Anniversary of my Ist Husbands Death and Mum. We just have to suck it in and carry on with life but it does knock us around a bit sigh. makerealbany - 2018-07-03 00:14:00 |
| You have a lot going on for you, too! I have pulled out of the Leadership training course because of lack of time. I was suypposed to spend a whole day there today but need to sort this funding out and need to be able to support a staff member whose daughter is experiencing severe mental health issues at present. Staff member ended up in hospital on Friday with chest pains due to the stress of caring for her daughter.Lots of people are really struggling these days aren't they? I hope you get some time out with your sister this week. grizzly4 - 2018-07-03 07:00:00 |
| I hope all goes well for you today in Rotorua. When do you think you will get to Sydney to see your nephew? grizzly4 - 2018-07-04 06:40:00 |
| I am so angry and frustrated with this funding stuff when they are not replying to my emails. They have no idea how this sort of thing affects us on a day to day basis. I'm taking it out on I. when I get home and I'm exhausted trying to keep up a positive front to stasff at work. How I'm going to forget it all and get on with a weekend at Mum and Dad's is anyone's guess. grizzly4 - 2018-07-05 06:26:00 |
| I have had a great time with my sister. Court Case was as I expected and we have to attend again in a couple of weeks grrr. I am really sorry you are going through all this Funding nonsense. The Funders have no idea do they? makerealbany - 2018-07-07 19:57:00 |
| And the list of tasks continue for you. LOL. Hopefully you hear from Sydney soon. I finally had a postivie reply from the funder on Thursday morning, thank goodness so we are back on track. We have had a great weekend with Mum and Dad and Mum had returned to her more positive self by the time we left, much to Dad's relief. He thought she had given up. She is still very sick but now on antibiotics as well, which although have their own unpleasant side effects, hopefully will get rid of this 'bug' in her lungs. She is absolutely exhausted by the coughing. They were both 86 this weekend and also had their 64th anniversary. LOL. grizzly4 - 2018-07-08 18:40:00 |
| Awesome news about your Mum feeling more positive. I know how exhausted she must be from that darn coughing. makerealbany - 2018-07-08 22:54:00 |
| I'm wearing cuddly casual clothes today, so I hope no important meetings come up. Hopefully I can just catch up on lots of desk work and provide support to programme when needed. What have you got planned for yopur kids over holidays? grizzly4 - 2018-07-09 06:10:00 |
| I haven't planned anything yet. We have been so busy and they are all enjoying just hanging around home. I guess the lousy weather makes them want to cave ha ha. Speaking of that I keep praying that they can get all of those boys and their Coach out. Its looking promising at the moment. makerealbany - 2018-07-09 23:22:00 |
| I can't think of a worse situation than the cave rescue going on at present. I am quite claustrophobic at the best of times. An amazing show of commitment to those boys shown by the divers etc concerned. grizzly4 - 2018-07-10 06:08:00 |
| They are all out. I feel for the family of that Diver who lost his life while trying to save the lives of those boys and their Coach. How tragic. makerealbany - 2018-07-11 00:51:00 |
| Sounds stressful about your car but very calm and peaceful crocheting while grandchildren play. Phew! The programme was kept blissfully happy making candles for 2 whole hours. Couldn't believe it. LOL. None of them had done it before. With bus costs going through the roof we may have to get tutors in for activities more often, I think. grizzly4 - 2018-07-11 06:27:00 |
| Today they are going to Airforce Museum and then on to a gymnastics session. grizzly4 - 2018-07-11 06:28:00 |
| Yes Children love making things. Did they have to heat up wax for the candles? A is off early so M has more painting of presents she wants to do and J doesn't want to go anywhere sigh. He is a real home body as he still suffers from Anxiety in crowds. He does like the Museum though. makerealbany - 2018-07-12 00:14:00 |
| The tutor came in the evening before and set up a dozen crockpots full of different coloured and perfumed wax. These were on timers to start heating about 5 or 6 in the morning then she returned at 9.30 for 2 hours with the kids. It was a dipping process with a length of wick - into the wax then into cold water. This was repeated for as long as it took to build up a tapered candle. The could layer colours etc so they had lots of fun. grizzly4 - 2018-07-12 06:16:00 |
| Today they are pretty much based at our hall except for a walk down to Animates who organise a session on pet care and let them play with any bunnies, kittens or puppies in store at the time. The craft activity for this morning is making bookmarks. grizzly4 - 2018-07-12 06:18:00 |
| I am too old for this. LOL. I have already done my usual hours for the week but have a 10 hour day ahead today so other staff get an earlier finish. We were in bed by 9.30 last night! I'm not sure you'd know what that feels like. LOL. Today the children are going to 'Incredibles 2' the movie and then for a walk along the beach to a playground for lunch. Hopefully it's as sunny as it was yesterday. We have been very lucky considering it's the middle of July. I have finished the wee hoody jacket and a pair of socks so far this week.Might do a pair of the cable boots before starting the next project. I went to Hands Craft Shop yesterday and they were selling some diamond stitch sets for very reasonable prices. I chose a white tiger one with blue eyes to match the duvet set and mink blanket in the guest room. Goodness knows when I will get to do it, though. LOL. grizzly4 - 2018-07-13 06:20:00 |
| Wow that Candle maker was organised ha ha. Its a really busy time for you during the holidays its worse than ever. Its unfair that you have to work extra long hours so the others can finish early. You need to get that organised better otherwise you are wearing yourself out.I have one week to go. Three weeks is hard ugh. I have started another big Crochet square. I will join them all together for a quilt when I get it finished, Its brainless crochet so really easy but I will have to start another knitting project as well because I get bored ha ha. makerealbany - 2018-07-13 23:41:00 |
| I do finish earlier than the supervisor every other day. She is so committed I needed to give her a Friday treat. LOL. Junior staff aren't left with the responsibility of locking up. I agree about crochet being mindless , my sort anyway (I can only do basics), but my fingers don't like being used in a different way. LOL. I have 4 blankets in shop currently but none of the blankets in stock are selling this winter. Weird. I have a list of jobs to do this weekend as I. is not racing but first on the list is to try and match the wopol I used for the cable boots. Sigh. Didn't quite get the second finished. Don't you hate that? grizzly4 - 2018-07-14 09:36:00 |
| I hope the storm up your way blows over soon. You don't need any more water this year! A bit wet here, so jobs will be indoor ones and groceries. grizzly4 - 2018-07-15 10:22:00 |
| Yes it poured all night so very wet here. I had to make Apple and Date Chutney yesterday as I had too many Apples to use and then I made more Beetroot Relish. That took up the morning. I started a Ten Stitch Blanket as my Crochet finger has split on the join again. Darn Arthritis but I have been lucky this is the first this season. The knitted blanket is fiddly ugh, I have another Beanie request so will do that today. Yes I sat up trying to get the hang of a lace pattern for a scarf. Got it in the end but it took so long I nearly gave up. makerealbany - 2018-07-15 10:45:00 |
| So many projects on the go! LOL. We have had a new member join the Purple Patch selling her original knitting patterns. I think she sells them in knitting outlets as well. She calls them Grannie Annie's. I bought the dungaree one so knitting that up in cream this week. It's garter stitch and cables. grizzly4 - 2018-07-16 06:09:00 |
| Actually you can Google them: Grannie Annie Knitting Designs. The one I'm doing is the last picture when you scroll down. grizzly4 - 2018-07-16 06:12:00 |
| Oh Ill check it out, I finished the beanie and am a third of the way through a scarf for my grandson. I have to finish that as fast as possible to send in a parcel with his new shoes and socks I bought for him. He has just finished the 2nd year of his teaching degree which he loves thank heavens ha ha. I have loads to do and My SIL's Mum is arriving tomorrow so I will get some time to myself so she can spend the last week with M and J hurrah ha ha makerealbany - 2018-07-17 00:24:00 |
| Soak up the quiet time! Still my struggles meeting funders requirements continues. This time the accountability we always provide to this funder has been deemed not good enough. I spent 5 hours redoing it yesterday and it looks like I'll be redoing it again today. We only received $4500 from them for goodness sake. Why they can't tell us before the reports are due that there is a new format is beyond me. grizzly4 - 2018-07-17 06:13:00 |
| I cannot believe how disorganised some Funders can be ugh. makerealbany - 2018-07-18 00:12:00 |
| My gosh that scarf is going to be warm with doubled 8ply! I finished the back of the dungarees and started the first leg of the front. grizzly4 - 2018-07-18 06:17:00 |
| Dungarees are in garter stitch and cables so a bit tedious considering the length of them. LOL. We booked tickets to Celtic Illusion when it comes to Christchurch in September. Then a month after that we will be in Wellington for Wearable Arts. Roll on Spring. Had hoped to be in Akaroa this weekend for our anniversary next week but wrong time of year and can't rely on the weather so going out to dinner with friends tomorrow night. grizzly4 - 2018-07-19 06:08:00 |
| Finished the scarf and my grandson likes the set , I sent him a photo. He has to get his girlfriend to choose between a crocheted shawl or a knitted one I have made so I can send that as well. Started a blue gradient scarf for myself it has sparkles through it ha ha. I want it for my weekend in Queenstown. My nephew has had surgery and now has to have chemo and then radiation for 8 months so we are delaying that trip until he is up to having visitors, I'm pleased because of the court cases I have looming without dates yet grrr The Maori Land Court is hopeless at giving you warning. Havent knitted leggings for years let alone Dungarees hee hee. makerealbany - 2018-07-19 23:42:00 |
| Me neither. Leggings for dolls now and then. I hope your nephews chemo etc goes ok. Sounds like you are just as busy as ever. LOL. Last day of holiday programme today. They are off to 'The Littlest Ninja" at the Court Theatre. I am looking forward to the weekend, I have to say. Although it's been a smaller programme this time the noise is quite tiring (even if I am in the office). LOL. grizzly4 - 2018-07-20 06:23:00 |
| Dinner out was nice, good food but service needs improving but early days for the new restaurant. Slept like a log last night till 9am this morning. Was a long week. LOL. Nothing planned this weekend except housework and knitting to finish for Monday. grizzly4 - 2018-07-21 10:41:00 |
| I'm halfway through my scarf. Jis spending the night as his Mum is out for dinner. I spent the day cleaning drawers ugh. I don't understand how they get in such a mess ha ha. Cars have been up and down the road all night must be something going on. Even though we are off the road I can still hear them. My grandchildren have had three weeks off and Monday is a teachers only day, Private school mmmm. They start school early and finish at 3,15 so they can do this. What a lark. makerealbany - 2018-07-22 00:18:00 |
| I'm very glad our holiday programme does not go for 3 weeks. Staff would be exhausted working 9.5 hour days in the noise. Nearly finished dungarees but have to go hunting for buttons as usual. LOL. This though I need 13!!! There are openings around the inside legs, both sides of body and then the straps. grizzly4 - 2018-07-22 10:41:00 |
| Finished my scarf. I wound 4 skeins of wool which was rather tiring lol. J rang me tonight as M is away at a friends. 'Nana I need you ASAP as Mummy is in pain again, Bring your wheat pack' I dashed over to the house and poor A was in agony again. By the time I had her more comfortable J had eaten his tea and jumped in the shower. He went to bed early after hugs and cuddles knowing his Mum was being looked after, He is such a caring little boy and so sensible. A and I laughed at his ASAP, makerealbany - 2018-07-23 00:18:00 |
| Poor A. Thank goodness you are close. And it turned out to be 15 buttons but dungarees are very cute. Doing a hat to match. Back to normal schedule again now. Phew. May get a few things done in the mornings now. grizzly4 - 2018-07-23 06:16:00 |
| School Holidays are over whoopee. I had a productive day today. Was putting J's washing away and had to fix one of his drawers first. Then when I tried to hoover the floors the Cleaner was blocked. Pulled it apart. Took me 30 mins to unblock it and found a huge ceramic bead and a lego ladder up the pipe near the filter grrr M said 'Grandma did the floors last Nana. Gee she should have used her glasses' lol. I had just dried the last load of washing and the circuit breaker went off. I was glad to put my feet up at 3 for 30 mins before I prepared the veges for tea. A struggled through the day with back to back meetings and the got to see her GP who is sending her to another Specialist. She got home after the kids were in bed. Tiring day for all. I am halfway through Beanie which is pretty easy and doesn't require any brain power ha ha, makerealbany - 2018-07-23 23:02:00 |
| Rompers in shop with hat to match. Now I'm working on cable boots because they will match, too. LOL. grizzly4 - 2018-07-24 06:38:00 |
| Had a lazy day because I woke up with a really bad back. I couldn't even knit today. So I cooked and dozed lol. makerealbany - 2018-07-24 22:16:00 |
| I hope you are feeling better today and there is a hope for me rest for you as well. grizzly4 - 2018-07-25 06:18:00 |
| Yes feeling much better today thanks. A dropped the kids at school on her way to work so I got up at 7 ha ha. Poor A didn't get home until late tonight. Kids settled to bed early. Busy but productive day. I ordered Pass the Parcel bags tonight to get sorted for my destash lol. I have wool and materials to sort out. Patterns are done. It will take a couple of days for packaging to arrive so can be better organized over the weekend. I'm up at 6 tomorrow as A is leaving early so I am off to bed. I hope you are ok as well. makerealbany - 2018-07-25 23:22:00 |
| What are Pass the Parcel bags? You mean for postage? It's a busy week being the start of a new term with lots of meetings with different people for different reasons. LOL. I. and I went out to dinner last night to celebrate 38 years married. We were together for another 18 months prior to that. I also finally got the blood tests that were due in July and I have an appointment with specialist tomorrow. Not sure what he's going to say if we can't rely on blood tests to give a true picture. Sigh. I'm fine with all this when I don't have to think about it. LOL. grizzly4 - 2018-07-26 06:28:00 |
| Pass the Parcel is a Courier Company which are cheaper to send parcels than NZ Post. They send you out their packages and you pay as you use them. Congrats on your Wedding Anniversary. That is a long time. I hope all goes well tomorrow for you. makerealbany - 2018-07-26 23:44:00 |
| Your beanie sounds lovely. I lost my cable needle at some point while I was knitting last night, do you think we can find it? LOL. We have turned the lounge upside down searching. One minute I had it, the next it was gone. So frustrating. LOL. grizzly4 - 2018-07-27 06:33:00 |
| I often have to tip my lazyboy up as the needles slide down the side lol. Had tea out so no knitting tonight ha ha. makerealbany - 2018-07-27 23:37:00 |
| Yep we are going to have another go at looking for the darn thing this morning. LOL Then I'll have to go to the wool shop and replace it before starting my next project. Went to the Mall for tea last night and came home with my birthday present (for November) and my Christmas present. LOL. Yahoo. I love Acquisitions. grizzly4 - 2018-07-28 09:56:00 |
| Well buying a new cable needle was a bit of a mission. Found one in Knitworld eventually after refusing to buy the new sort which have a V bend in the middle to hold the stitches. The shape of it did my head in so they kept looking until they found a fine one for me. I wanted one the quivalent to 2.75mm. I'm thinking I should have bought 2..... you know, just in case..... LOL. grizzly4 - 2018-07-29 07:40:00 |
| Yes I do know ha ha. Spent the day yesterday with J7 and E5 after having lunch with A and M who had to rush off to gymnastics We had a busy time shopping for E and then playing in the playground. Today A and the kids and I went shopping up Silverdale which had bargains galore, I spent a bit ha ha. A cooked us a Roast dinner and I dozed while she did . Nearly finished my beanie but I have finally finished a scarf for J. a friend of mine who is never going to con me in to knitting her a pattern like that again ha ha. . Had it in the naughty corner because of the lace pattern. Its all packaged ready to send tomorrow. makerealbany - 2018-07-30 00:01:00 |
| They look like instruments of torture. LOL. I forgot to mention the result of my appointment on Friday. Nothing showing up which is neither good news or bnad but I have opted to go through all the CT scans, colonoscopy etc in September to give me piece of mind at this stage. Better be ok because we have tickets to Celtic Illusion that week. grizzly4 - 2018-07-30 06:07:00 |
