I bet you had a lovely time with them. I spent the afternoon at the Bowling Club catching up with old friends and playing housie to raise funds for the club. Our old members are getting less in numbers sigh. Gosh you talk to someone one week and the next week they have passed away. That's the worst thing about being older, I am trying to knit some nice Beanies for Mothers Day as Donations for the Caring for Families Charity to brighten up the Caring Packs. Got two done so far. Most of the Mums cannot afford to buy themselves nice things.

Now that's the sort of thing I am looking forward to doing when I retire. I did an hours work on my cross stitch yesterday. Felt a bit sad I had to go back to work in my office after that. LOL. Going out to lunch with daughter S today once I. comes home from work.

My youngest son took his older brother his groceries today so I didn't have to drive into the city yah I went to the Supermarket to stock up on meat. Omg its getting even more expensive. I spent the afternoon knitting a beanie lol. Watched a movie tonight and started another one. I'm using my odd balls which is great. Making a dent in the stash at last.

Gosh, that's a second message you have put up that sounds calm and relaxed. I hope this lasts for you. S arrived earlier than she said yesterday so didn't get to finish my chores. Listened to her stuff for 2 hours then went to Mall dfor lunch when I got home. Then spent nearly 3 more hours browsing shops with her, we were exhausted and both slept for half an hour before tea once she went home. LOL. I never could keep up with her. Today I have a day to myself as I. is helping with a 'Have-A-Go Day with the bikes out in the country somewhere. I have to get the end of month cheques to the shop as I can't work tomorrow as it's the next session of my leadership course. I also have the groceries to do. I finished the matinee jacket so at least I can put that in the shop, too. Then it will be a bit of gardening and maybe another Outlander DVD this afternoon while I decide what to knit next.

Oh that's lovely. A is off for work for a week but SIL is back yippee ha ha. I have a lot of things I want to get sorted so will be busy but not under any pressure. its nice that you and S had a good time together.

And back to work we go for anpther week.... I have a half day on my course this morning and a late meeting tonight so it's going to be a long day. I watched my DVD yesterday and started and finished a pair of baby boots with cables. I'll show you once I have sewn them up. I really like the pattern except there's quite a bit of breaking the yarn and moving stitches from one needle to another.

grizzly4 - 2018-05-07 06:17:00
8458

I started a shawl for a niece. I am using two different plys and colours together on 3.75 circular needles. Its going to take awhile ha ha,
M10 is eyeing it up. She rarely wears hats but it is getting colder and she loves scarfs. It is a purple pink mix with a dark grey. I need a haircut so will book in tomorrow. J8 started ski lessons at Snow Planet and looked like a little Polar Bear in his snow gear ha ha. He was over falling down and getting up though lol. First lesson is so much fun.

makerealbany - 2018-05-07 23:22:00
8459

Shawl sounds lovely, I'd love to see a photo when it's finished. I'm kind of getting into these wee boots so I'm onto the second pair now. Taking a bit longer with having to go to work! LOL.

grizzly4 - 2018-05-08 06:23:00
8460

Spent a couple of hours weeding today. It was warm enough so quite enjoyed it. Had my hair cut so I am not feeling so woolly ha ha. T arrived back from Queenstown more tired then when she went. They had a great time though.

makerealbany - 2018-05-08 23:36:00
8461

Finished another pair of wee boots. Women's Group off to a Llama Park this morning. I hope I have the energy to keep up with them LOL. Haven't been feeling the best this, not sure why. Maybe I'm starting to feel stressed about the next few weks until funding comes in.

grizzly4 - 2018-05-09 06:29:00
8462

Had a lousy day feeling sick ugh. I'm not sure why either ugh, That Funding word would stress anyone. Hope you feel better soon

makerealbany - 2018-05-09 21:47:00
8463

I hope you are feeling better, yourself! I started feeling better about lunch time yesterday. I had bought a bottle of water and with it being warmer yesterday I drank the whole thing. Since the water is chlorinated here now I have really struggled drinking as much as I should as I can't just fill a glass from the tap or replenish my bottle. It's horrible. I think i was dehydrated at the beginning of the week and that may have been a reason for not feeling well. The trip to the Llama Farm was a waste of time as the woman never turned up and the place was all locked up! Can you believe it? The bus driver took us to a cafe that we hadn't been to before which saved the day but I'm still trying to find the woman.

grizzly4 - 2018-05-10 06:32:00
8464

OMG what a lousy outing. No I find that hard to believe lol. Are you going to do a review on it lol. Yes I'm feeling better and guess what I realized I had not drunk enough water either. I have no trouble here with rain water and I have a filter as well. I simply kept meaning to drink and forgot. Also my eating has not been that regular ugh. Today I drank my usual and ate well . I have even got a water bottle with a filter connection. got it last year when I was sick. I filter my water and leave it in the fridge. I have never tasted chlorinated water ugh,

makerealbany - 2018-05-11 00:03:00
8465

Chlorinated water is foul! Turns out Llama lady had a family emergency and she was out of town. Oh well. I am at home today with B9. I was supposed to pick him up from school today when he returned from camp but he wound himself that he wasn't going to see his Mum till next Weekend as I will be returning him to his Dad this Sunday. He caused so much mayhem they stood him down and S had to pick him up yesterday. Theoretically he got what he wanted - to see Mum before she went away for the weekend. Bright boy - stupid teachers to be sucked in with that one! If he had been allowed to talk to S when he asked on Wednesday night she would have quickly reminded him that there would be treats with L10 at Nana's this weekend if he didn't sort it out. And now I have a day off work with a bored 9 year old till we pick up L tomorrow. Sigh.

grizzly4 - 2018-05-11 10:09:00
8466

Tired Nana today! LOL. Took the boys swimming yesterday morning, then ten Pin Bowling and browsing the Museum after lunch. McDonald's for tea then DVDs at home for a late night. They are going to their respective homes at lunch time today and I will have a nap. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2018-05-13 09:25:00
8467

Hope you got that Nap for Mothers Day. I had a great Mothers Day . Now I have a $50 voucher for Spotlight from my youngest Son. As well as a $50 voucher for Kings. A new Blouse from T . 2 Camilias to put into bigger pots, A bunch of roses, scented candles and one more present to come. I'm really spoilt on Mothers Day. I had a busy day yesterday and went to bed early lol. I have undone different rows of that cursed shawl and have come to the same conclusion I reach every time I knit black. Daytime is better ha ha, The two ply purple variegated keeps getting left behind if I don't pay attention, Children can really play up to get their own way. Little monkies are so manipulative at times. Had a bit of that going on while A was working away for the week. Sil is an easy target. Poor begger,

makerealbany - 2018-05-13 22:09:00
8468

I even got a bit of gardening down yesterday before the rain came in. Feels like iot was a huge weekened. LOL. I'm back at the shop this morning and hopefully I'll be back to a noprmal routine now for the next few weeks. Today I'm also helping some of the older kids on the programme make wheatbags. They are to make one for themselves and one to give away. I hope they are kind to my sewing machine. Fingers crossed. Last week they baked muffins and took them to homeless people sleeping in town. They got a lovely response.

grizzly4 - 2018-05-14 06:33:00
8469

Wow that's a cool project. I love to hear about those things. I know it must be getting really cold on the streets now. Wheat bags are so handy as well. I rang up about my Jury Service and I was supposed to be excused at 65 lol. I am now excused for ever ha ha. I am currently looking at smaller cars. My Volvo Station wagon is too big now. I cant lift heavy things into it anymore because of my back so I am giving it to my son and he will pay for a smaller one for me. Its time consuming though.

makerealbany - 2018-05-15 00:36:00
8470

I love my Nissan Cube! LOL. It only costs me $60 a fortnight in petrol to go all the way across time and back every day and running all our errands over the weekends. Because I's car has such a useless boot space my car even does the big green waste bag to the refuse centre. It has a really roomy back seat for grandchildren. I sound like a salesperson.LOL. I really like my Vitz before that though, too.

grizzly4 - 2018-05-15 06:26:00
8471

Not sure what I want yet ha ha. I do want one cheaper to run and easier to park ha ha

makerealbany - 2018-05-15 23:50:00
8472

I hope the car stuff is sorted out for you without too much bother. Hehe, have you seen the 'bother' ad on tv?

grizzly4 - 2018-05-16 06:41:00
8473

Yes I have ha ha. I am just taking it slow in making up my mind. I managed to knit two adult Beanies today so my pile is growing. Didn't work on the shawl at all ha ha. I found this beautiful Briar Patch Organic super soft Merino natural in my stash so I am saving that for myself. It is really soft.

makerealbany - 2018-05-16 22:36:00
8474

Two beanies in a day! That's good going. I am working on a baby cardy in the evenings, up to 2nd sleeve and I try to do a round or 2 of the crochet blanket in the mornings before work. I'm still trying to get an hour on my cross stitch at the group at work on Friday mornings and I started a fabric mosaic of a turtle on art canvas yesterday at the Women's Group. It's quite time consuming and a bit fiddly with half the group giving up on it which was disappointing. Oh well, can't win them all.

And the towel sets I finished as well. The children that made Wheatbags this week are interested in doing a towel set for their Mums for Christmas.

grizzly4 - 2018-05-17 06:42:00
8477

Cute Booties and lovely Towel Sets. You have really started something with those Children, There will be some amazed and pleased Mums at Christmas. I have K 9 for the night. Picked him up after school to take him to Snow Planet for his 2nd Snowboarding session, He is a natural just like his big sister J22. I was exhausted just watching him going up and down. I had to drag him off the Snow at 7 to go home ha ha, A,S and the kids flew out to Hawaii for their holiday tonight, I was not happy about them going but they said the Volcano is on another Island duh. Yes it is the second holiday away this year ha ha.

Lucky them! Must be your turn next. Have you got anything planned for the near future? Our Lounge Suite has finally arived in Christchurch so we pick it up this morning.More effort for us but it's too hard fitting deliveries in during the week. Not sure where we will put the old one for the time being LOL. Putting it on TM for $1 reserve, I think. It has to go quick as we have no room.

grizzly4 - 2018-05-19 09:45:00
8479

Phew! What a big day yesterday. Picked up lounge suite, put old one in garage and listed on TM this morning. LOL. Then decided that with no cats in the house I could put nets up to protect new suite from sun. So off to Warehouse - fabulous bargain getting 5 of the biggest size to cover the huge window and ranch slider for $22 each. Great bargain and look very pretty. Went to lunch with daughter S then hung nets, tried to finish my knitting and blanket watching wedding stuff till 11. LOL. I. racing today so I'm finishing off jobs that didn't get done yesterday and hopefully watching more Outlander DVDs to finish the blanket.

grizzly4 - 2018-05-20 10:34:00
8480

I spent the day washing winter woollies, etc. I have now packed all my summer gear away . Good buying on the curtains. I watched the Wedding as well. Love seeing all the happy people enjoying the day. I have not been knitting at all ha ha. When I'm sorting out clothes in various piles for different people I'm really tired at the end of the day.

makerealbany - 2018-05-20 23:00:00
8481

Sorting of any sort is exhausting. So are visitors - instead of watching mu DVD I ended up with a phone call from Dad and then visitors arriving who stayed till tea time. I. was home by then.

Paperwork needed to be done today grrr. I checked my emails and am still awaiting info from 5 Trusts I emailed in March grrr So after I take Tess for her after surgery check up I will be busy on the phone. Going to start a milo for my great great niece who is due in 3 weeks. I m having a break from the shawl ha ha.

makerealbany - 2018-05-21 20:52:00
8483

Milo?

grizzly4 - 2018-05-22 06:24:00
8484

Its a children's vest by Georgie Hallam. Very popular on Ravelry. I'm using a gradient in girly colours. I spent 6 hours today filling forms and photocopying
all the necessary legal forms. Plus I received my documents via internet for that Trust that had ignored my emails. Woo Progress ha ha. The car I was interested in sold before I even got to see it lol. Ah well there are lots around,

makerealbany - 2018-05-22 23:33:00
8485

I'll have to go on Ravelry to have a look. LOL. I've just bought 2 matinee jacket patterns off TM. As well as Foster and Allen and Isla Grant DVDs that my Dad asked me to find. LOL. The things we do.

grizzly4 - 2018-05-23 06:37:00
8486

Got another few replies today so I now have to provide all the documentation for another 6 Land Trusts we have shares in. Omg its unbelievable how much is involved I need our Secretary but she lives 3 hours away grrr. I blocked the green shawl finally so it is laying on my lounge room floor. Made a few boo boos in my milo so had to frog that back sigh. Knitting in the round is dangerous ha ha,

makerealbany - 2018-05-24 00:29:00

We did candlemaking yesterday at the Women's Group. THey all loved it and want the tutor to come back again but by the end of it I had such a bad headache I had to come home. Slept most of the afternoon but had to keep taking pain relief. It seems ok this morning, thank goodness. I am knitting bootees this week for a change.

grizzly4 - 2018-05-24 06:39:00
8488

I tried candlemaking once but I hated the strong smells. I did like making them though. These days the products are not so powerful. I do love nice candles that burn for hours. Was the headache from all the noise? I'm well into my Milo now. Had to learn a few things but got it eventually ha ha.
My shawl was nearly dry on the mats when Paku sat on it grrrr, So I had to wash and block again, He had been out in the paddock.

makerealbany - 2018-05-24 23:43:00
8489

Oh no! Naughty Paku. LOL.I think the headaches are something to do with my neck and the way I was standing doing the candles aggravated it maybe. I'll mention it to the doctor this morning when I get my presriptions refilled.

grizzly4 - 2018-05-25 06:45:00
8490

I am really having fun with the Milo doing the cable now. I'm on a roll ha ha. Hope the headaches are better. Yes it could be your neck. Wet and awful all week here. Looks like the weekend will be the same. Kids picked a great time to go away lol.

I finally found a rain coat I liked! I have been looking for over a year to replace the one I have had for over 15 years! It's still in good nick but the end of the zip is wearing out now and getting a new zip put in costs nearly as much as a new coat! Good on Farmers for bringing out coats for larger sizes this year and really nice looking ones at that.

grizzly4 - 2018-05-26 09:13:00
8492

That's cool. I finished my first Milo yay. Ill wash and block it and send you a pic. I'm going to knit some more so I don't forget the new tricks ha ha. Woolfest was on up here but I stayed at home all day as the weather was not the best. Amazing seeing all the purchases online though. My friends spent a fortune. I can do that online ha ha,

makerealbany - 2018-05-27 00:46:00
8493

LOL. Woolfest is here part way through June. I found out on Saturday at the shop's AGM. I missed it last year. Seemed to get quite a bit done yesterday. The auction for our old lounge suite finished and we delivered it to a lovely lady on her own. We cleaned out our DVD collection and traded them into Penny Lane for not very much money. LOL. Cut down all the huge boxes our new suite came in and took them to the recycling centre and did a bit of housework. Finished a pair of boots and a dolls blanket. Looking forward to seeing the picture of your milo.

My nephew I had not seen for 40 years arrived from Aussi. We are having a lovely family time talking about the old days. My BIL, his Dad died 20 years ago and his Mum doesn't recognize him or anyone else anymore. Its so sad. He talks and talks. I feel for him so much. He is missing out on a lot and was so close to his Mum. Still is but she doesn't know it. So spent the day just letting him talk. Tomorrow we will do the same. so much time to catch up on.

makerealbany - 2018-05-28 23:55:00
8495

Sounds like a lovely visit. My day was full on yesterday with having to fill in for staff at the end of the day. Today is going to be a long one as well with staff training tonight and funding applications to complete again. I'm struggling with the new funding portals we have to use online these days.

grizzly4 - 2018-05-29 06:35:00
8496

I can imagine ugh. Went out to dinner tonight and had a great time with my nephew. Sil flies out tomorrow but he only has one more overseas stint after this next one and then he will be working in NZ. That will be a huge change for us all. Early start at 6 tomorrow as A is off working sigh, No knitting tonight.

makerealbany - 2018-05-29 23:33:00
8497

So you are up early with me this morning. LOL. Imagine the DIY you will get done with SIL at home!

Long day at work yesterday just working on one funding application. Still more to do on it today so probably won't be joining in with craft group to do some cross stitch today. Need to get everything sorted so I can relax next week. Went out for dinner last night because I couldn't be bothered cooking. LOL. Lovely beef wellington was really yummy.
