Hope you are more successful than me (Big sigh) Just made some salami and peppercorn bread with cheese fir lunch was nice and brown on the outside, hollow when knocked but when I sliced it, it was still uncooked in the middle, I sliced it anyway and it is now baking again in the oven (A bit like rusks or biscotti I guess) hopefully this works

Fudgefairy - to find what you're wanting quickly- click - at the same time - on Ctrl (bottom left of your keyboard) and the letter F on your keyboard - with a page of the thread already open, then type in gluten in the box that pops up. Click next till that page is completed, go to the next page and repeat. There was a gluten free recipe thread also - and do a search on www.trademecooks.co.nz also.

Hi guys! Re post #79 - Bunny's hot cross buns ... I have started to make this in my breadmaker but the dough was too thick, and was not sticking together. I have added a but more milk and am hoping it will be okay. I am a great cook but I've had failures with hot cross buns about 11 times and this is my last ever attempt :o(

tinzaroo - 2009-03-21 10:22:00
834

ok - dough as mixed now and looks okay so far ... will post back later when it's gone through the rising and baking and let you know how I got on. All my other failures have been with hand made dough, but I can bake really nice bread!! I just don't seem to have the knack for hot cross buns!! AARRGGHH!!!

tinzaroo - 2009-03-21 10:32:00
835

Hi Tinzaroo.. how did you get on with your buns? I hope they're successful and you've enjoyed your goodies..

836

Hi there! Thanks for your message. They didn't rise as much as I would have liked, I never seem to be able to get them doubled in size! I baked them off anyway, and they came out ok, if a little on the heavy side.

Hi... just bought my first breadmaker, and looking forward to getting started...I have everything except for the gluten flour, how is this different from high grade flour? is there any bread I can make until I next get into town?

Hi juliewn :o) I have just made your hand made bread recipe ... made it into a plaited loaf with olives, spring onions and ham inside, and going to put cheese on top before I bake it. It's doing it's rising thing now, I put it inside my car as it's nice and warm in there, and away from prying toodie tats!! I hope it turns out nice - it sure looks nice so far! LOL! Will let you know how I go.

Holy crapola! I just went to look at the proving loaf - and it's a monster! It's just about to take over the world! I think I should have two instead of just the one. Oh well, it will be interesting to see it when it's baked off! hehehee

Wheat and Gluten Free Bread Hi
Could someone please give me a Wheat and Gluten Free Bread recipe for a Breadmaker.
Thanks

chelot - 2009-03-28 15:30:00
842

Hi Tinzaroo.. hope you enjoyed your bread.. the car warmth would raise the dough quite quickly too - sometimes it would even be a little too warm there.. Hi Chelot.. I don't have access to a recipe yet - we're still unpacking - will try to find the right box - and hopefully someone else can help too..

Vogel's recipe?? Hi there everyone. I asked this question on the recipe forum before I realised there was a dedicated bread making one! Has anyone made a really good approximation of the classic Vogels loaf? The price of Vogel's is getting totally out of hand and we are hoping to make our own. Thanks in advance, Iain and Maree
